Great food and service. Great treat for a special occasion.

This is what happens when the grocery store closes early. We continued walking looking for something appetizing and we went in to Stofa to investigate. Felt like winners Fantastic! Service was knowledgeable and unobtrusive. Sat at the bar. Watched the bartender who not only made some beautiful cocktails but also correctly paired our courses choosing some outstanding wines and bubblies for us to enjoy. The food was delicious and so very well presented. Each dish was thoughtfully composed of so many elements which complemented each other very well. What a delightful evening! Colleen T

Best service by Jacob at the bar. Amazing food. The bone Marrow and the the veal is to die for! Going back for sure to try their seafood tower! Highly recommended

Had a nice meal here! My favorites were the bread rolls and the cream puffs. Steak dish was average and tuna appetizer lacked flavour. Everything else was nice and very fresh. Dessert was great-loved the chocolate tarte and pistachio ice cream combo. The tarte shell could’ve been softer as I found it hard to break up with just a spoon. Food came quickly which was a huge plus and service was excellent.

Visited for the Taste of Wellington set menu promo. So this is a rather limited view of the restaurant's abilities and/or food. The restaurant offered a 3 course meal with no substitutions at a reduced price. Salmon was the best part of the menu. Smoked in house, balanced with pickled radish and pickles with some dill and seeds. ???? Deep fried 'tempura' baby eggplant was inconsistently cooked throughout. Of the 4 pieces of eggplant, I felt as if there were only parts of 2 of the eggplants that were well cooked enough. The tamarind sauce and yogurt with zaatar was a really cool mix of flavours. Slightly spicy to eat, but balanced out by the tangy sweet tamarind and pressed yogurt. Note: the orange flaked topping was a crushed dehydrated sausage. I couldn't really make out the flavour :( I think the eggplant was a good idea in thought, and the flavours were well done, but I was super disappointed at cooking quality of tempura as if the chef that created the menu left instructions 'put it in the deep fryer for X minutes' and it was prepared as is (and rushed) without any quality control (Both my gf and I shared this experience with our eggplants). Finally, the Sous Vide Pork Loin was also quite disappointing. The cut was lean, and the meat inside was quite dry. Not dry enough to be tough, but enough to need lots of sauce to make up for the texture. They seared it before serving, but it was barely golden brown. I personally would have preferred the outside to be seared at a higher temperature for a crustier or toasted texture. I think the sousvide was just left in a bit too long. I can appreciate that the menu is affordable and sousvide meats are easier to prep so restaurants can better handle the traffic. However, I wasn't super excited about the end result of the cooked food. The flavours in the dish could have been a bit stronger. The entire pallete for the pork was earthy and a bit too mild for my taste (although quite hearty with root vegetables and a good portion of meat). The service was quite good and I enjoyed my experience for the $50 spent. Our server was professional and was impressive with how he described our dishes when serving. I enjoyed restaurant and ambiance, and had a great date night! However, given the quality I had expected from a place that serves 40-50$ mains and $90 blind tasting menus, I did expect a little more from the food. Thanks for participating in taste of Wellington Stofa! We will hopefully visit again to try the standard menu sometime.

Stofa on the Sofa did not disappoint! The dinner for 4 was thoughtfully designed to travel well and each dish was delicious. We haven’t had the chance to visit in person, but it’s top on our list for a post-pandemic date night.

You won't be disappointed eating here if you are looking for good food and good service. Expect it to be on the pricey side but well worth it. Everything on the table was unique, tasty and with a good balance of flavours. There is an extensive wine list and the servers know their wine, and which are best paired with the items you order.

Last year, my husband enter a culinary lottery draw he saw advertised featuring some local restaurants and bought a ticket. We were delighted to have won a second place prize, which was gift cards to seven restaurants! Tonight we had a long overdue date night and tried Stofa as our first location. We were lucky enough to be seated at the bar, where we could see into the kitchen (behind glass). We were ecstatic to have this table, it's always our favourite as we get to watch things as they are made. Our server was the bartender. He was incredibly friendly and attentive. My husband started with an old fashioned, and I tried a finger nihonshu. This drink was the creation of the bartender, and so good, I may have had a few! It was a 5 course menu. The bread and amuse, a chef's choice, and then a second , main and dessert you pick. Everything was delicious. The steak dish was one of the best my husband, has ever had. He almost didn't share any! Not a single dish was disappointing or just ok. All were fantastic, and I would happy have the entire meal again. And just might. We will be going back, and have already recommended the location to friends!

First visit: So good! Loved the cuttlefish, the bison and the spaetzle. The pineapple and ginger dessert was a perfect finish. We will definitely return to try more. Second visit: the seafood tower is so good! Definitely returning to have that again. Loved the “for the table” plates - we had the mushrooms which were phenomenal and the shishito peppers which were also delightful. All that finished off with a perfect cherry soufflé with chocolate ice cream. Next visit: salad, seafood tower, extra oysters, and oh my goodness the passion fruit soufflé! This place is so good!

Mike Lyons

Stofa is INCREDIBLE! Every dish that chef Jason made was unique, flavorful, adventurous, and crafted! The service was top notch and the wine and cocktails were delicious. ORDER THE SEAFOOD TOWER! It was AWESOME! I wish I could give Stofa 6 stars out of 5 for how great the experience was.

Absolutely amazing dinner, the 8 course dinner with wine pairings was only 135$, which was definitely worth it. 10/10

Im a little late to post my review, but truly an amazing experience. Went for dinner for me and the girlfriend's anniversary on March 29th, and it was amazing from start to finish. we did the blind tasting with wine pairings. all the courses and snacks were delicious, and the wine pairings were expertly done. Our server (whom I sadly do not remember his name) was fantastic with describing every dish and explaining our wines. the kitchen made us chocolates and also gave us a card wishing us a happy anniversary signed by the staff. a thoughtful gesture to make the night more special. Will definitely be coming back again for dinner. a must try for anyone wanting a nice fine dining experience

Had an amazing New Years Eve dinner experience with family here. We've been wanting to try Stofa out for a while now and decided NYE was the perfect night. It was a blind tasting menu plated and served with the most care. Every flavor matched and complimented the plates. My favorite being the scallop in a truffle broth. Staff was extremely friendly and explained everything on the plate to us and would answer any questions. The handcrafted cocktails were some of the best I've had at restaurants. The Fig-ure It Out cocktail was my favorite and very festive for the time of year. The bartender even came over to the table to give us a good run down about the cocktail. Highly recommend this drink. Looking forward to coming back to try their normal menu!

On the 2019 list of Canada's 100 Best Restaurants, Stofa certainly did not disappoint. Even while doling out innovative gastronomic experiences, Stofa's atmosphere remains relaxed and casual, making it an excellent option for any occasion. We ordered the Blind Tasting Menu for $90/person, along with wine and a cocktail, and an additional dessert (the highly recommended soufflé). We received 10 things and despite each plate containing just a morsel, by the end, we were bursting at the seams. While we had our favourites (i.e. the mushroom soup and the seared duck breast, the latter of which can be found on the menu), we found each dish carefully thought out and well-executed and enjoyed everything we were presented. Service was highly-professional, if not a bit cold; they took the time to explain each dish, which was highly appreciated, but zipped through it rather quickly and disappeared. Nonetheless, they were thorough throughout our dinner, checking in and making sure there were no questions or concerns. All in all, I'd definitely recommend trying Stofa. I, for one, am interested in having their tasting menu again, just to see what new creations they've come up with.

It's reputation is a bit ahead of what it actually delivers... It's like a movie version of a nice restaurant but they're all actors Edit: ive been asked to be more specific, here goes: We were seated in a very full, tight room for a 6ish pm dinner and no one spoke to us for about 15 mins after seating. At that point a tall, very enthusiastic (overly enthusiastic) waiter tells us that some amazing house bread will be coming out soon, and apologizes for the fact that we don't have menus because they ran out of menus, and that we'd get the next set that become available. Ok, that's a first. 5 minutes after that, two small, thinnest possible slices of some pretty good sourdough are presented to our hungry selves with great gusto. These are eaten in one bite and we are scratching our heads wondering where the rest was, especially since it's been about 20 mins since we've been seated, and we're hungry. The menus (!!!) finally arrive. Specials are described at length. There are only 2-3 dishes that we're into. We order dinner and a bottle of wine. The dinner comes out and the waiter starts describing my wife's dish - his description took a really long time and we're supposed to be sitting there looking at our food while he's doing this? He starts another long description of my dish and I said "that's ok, thanks" and I started eating and he actually said "you don't want me to describe the dish to you?" in a sad, disappointed way. And he made me feel so bad about it that I stopped eating (we're starving at this point) and said "ok, let's hear it" and he just started up again from the beginning, as if that was the point of the dinner, and seemed genuinely happy that he got to finish the description, no clue about the fact that I'm starving and pretty annoyed with him by then. Ok, description done, we're eating and drinking the bottle of wine we ordered. Except that, again, we're generally left alone the rest of the meal (which I don't mind), but when he sees me refilling my wife's glass of wine because it had been empty a few minutes, he comes across the room and tops hers off by a few more millimetres and then mine with a kind of "oh I've got that" expression. Ok thanks, man. Look the food was creative, tasted ok, but it was nothing exceptional in today's Ottawa food scene. There were only a few dishes we even considered ordering, as we're not really into chicken hearts and calf liver and such. The vibe there, particularly from this waiter, is not one we ever want to experience. I dunno, I'm a huge fan and supporter of the Ottawa restaurant scene - I love that it's thriving. This is the only new restaurant we've tried in 5 years where my overall reaction was "Nah."

Thomas Kotcheff

Amazing food. Amazing service. Can't say enough good things about this place. Got to enjoy the new patio tonight and we hope it stays. We also stuck around long enough to see the staff sanitize all the chairs and tables which gave us comfort because we saw that they took our safety and health seriously. We're going to keep coming back.

We had a wonderful evening at Stofa. Service was immaculate and matched only by the quality of the food. Highly recommend

Evan Mostovac

Great service and food. Highly recommend it. The seafood tower was fun and delicious.

Chad Macdonald

We really enjoyed the wonderful Meal, excellent Chef and Serving staff. Our first but certainly not last visit. It may not be a michelin star but could very well be. One of the better fine restaurants in Ottawa We both had the Scallops Salsify purée, preserved rhubarb, gremolata, ginger-scallion turnip cake, fava and edamame beans, salsify chips Although next time it will be the shared Seafood platter, it looked great at the next table. In Hindsight I wished I had taken pictures of the Desserts, they were spectacular and so well presented - if you just go for dessert it would be a treat on its own. She had the Cherry Soffle and I had the Dulcey and Hibiscus - Dulcey ganache, hibiscus tea gel, horchata shattered ice cream, mole, chocolate siphon cake, raspberries. I am not a dessert eater but I was quite impressed. Very pleasant evening.

Lina Brouillard

Great experience at Stofa. My partner and I were celebrating our 3 yrs together and wanted a nice romantic evening with great food and wine and we were not disappointed. The wine pairing was great (mostly wines from Ontario) and our servers were very knowledgeable about where the food and wines came from explaining the reasons for serving those choices that evening. We will definitely be going back for more!

Lex Scott

Great place to celebrate something special or go for a fancy dinner. Very creative and tasty dishes.

Katherine Colbert

Very meticulous chief menu with a cocofinany of flavors delivered by very knowledgeable staff. Bravo to the Apricot Souffle to top off a spectacular meal

Richard Domino

The seafood tower was excellent, highly recommended. Call ahead to order it to avoid disappointment. The ravioli tasted great, loved the taste of the porcini/boletus in this dish. Service was excellent, inviting and friendly, very on-the-ball. The room can be loud when it's busy, so this can make for a difficult conversation, but it's all part of the atmosphere and fun.

Corazane Hang

I visited your restaurant last night with family members and was so very impressed. We each had a different appetizer and entree (four of us) and each and every dish was outstanding! The presentation, both verbally from our waiter as he described the mix of ingredients and flavour combinations and the artistry of the plates added much to the meal and as we shared tastes from each other’s plates as a group we began to run short of superlatives. And then came the amazing dessert...a perfect, delectable passion fruit souffle which will not be easily forgotten. The food is delicious , creative, adventurous and so good. This chef and restaurant has, in my view, just upped the game another notch for dining on our beloved Wellington St West. And given our variety of fine restaurants that ’s saying something. Wow! Thank you C hef Jason and your staff for a truly remarkable meal and evening. We will return very soon.

Mo Kareem

The presentation was excellent, the portions were great and the food was good. I can't say I was blown away by the flavors of the four courses - though the Beef Wellington was on point. The presentation shows the Atelier influences that the chef brought with him from his tenure there. At the price point, I feel that you're paying more for the presentation and I can think of other restaurants that please the pallet more at a lower cost. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the visit overall, and the intimate setting made it a good destination for a date. Just be prepared to pull out the cheque book.

Melissa Ricci

Food was delicious and the portions are great.

David Coletto

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Fine dining will cost you, but the taste alone makes it worth it. The portions looked small but very filling. Would recommend.

Anastasia Evseeva

Second time to this classy restaurant with top notch service. We have been wanting to try the seafood tower for awhile, and so glad we did! Right different seafood items all beautifully and thoughtfully prepared : popcorn shrimp, scallops, anchovies, tuna tataki, lobster tacos, octopus terrine, squid, and oysters. Served with several little side dishes as well. Had a couple staters as well, which were excellent. Couldn't say no to the signature soufflé... Pumpkin with coffee ice cream....absolutely divine. Will definitely be back.

Julie Kingston

STOFA is the place to be for an amazing food and dining experience. Your exposed to food you may have never had before, cooked and presented to like a piece of art. The menu changes, so you you can keep going back to try new things. My Food was phenomenal and the STOFA staff will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Soft shell crab was by far my favorite dish.

Peggy Caldwell

This is probably the best food I have ever ate in my life so far. The celery root soup was an amazing starter followed by the hanger steak. The chocolate avocado was a great finish to the night.

Scott Perrie

Certainly some of the best food and cocktails in Ottawa. The seafood tower was a really fun experience, but it took the two of us eating it much longer to sample our way through it than it took the third person to eat their regular main, so keep that in mind if someone in your party won't be partaking. For dessert, definitely try the apricot soufflé--it's incredible.

Chris Hiltz

This deserves 5+ stars, unbelievable food, beautiful presentation, my new favorite restaurant in Ottawa. Busy, buzzing atmosphere, beautiful setting.

Harlan Macleod

From now on, Stofa is my favourite restaurant in Ottawa. Great service. Amazing food. Try their passion fruit soufflé desert. May be you need to wait for it 20 mins but it is so worth it. 200 out of 100%.

erika holbrough

Great food. I must mention that in the server's zeal to share all of the nuts and bolts about our food. she also became quite intrusive. I think a better balance could be struck. Would go back and try again.

Laurent-Philippe Veilleux

One of the best meal I had for a while. Seafood tower is a must try cause it's very different from what the usual idea is. Soufflé, oh so dreamy! The lamb was done to perfection that I wish for more. It's well worth it.

Katherine Neale

Had an excellent meal last night at Stofa - our first time. For a Tuesday night, the restaurant was quite busy attesting to its popularity. The food was excellent with innovative presentation. Great service with a really attentive staff. Overall an excellent experience. We will certainly be back!

Kate Adam

An amazing experience! Service was on point, cocktails were expertly crafted and the meal was absolutely incredible. Our server had an answer to every question we had and was on hand for all of our needs. We had the scallops and the short ribs both were perfectly made and the flavours we tasted were truly out of this world. We *will* be going back.

Thomas Gunther

All dishes are creative and delicious. The staff is very friendly and informative.

Renee Couture

What a perfect meal! The food was fantastic and the service was great too. Now one of my favourite spots in Ottawa. We had the soft shell crab, the miso cod and the special salmon. All were cooked perfectly. And for desert we had the chocolate peanut butter moose and the soufflé. Both were perfect.

ESS M

Fantastic modest sized restaurant in a slightly trendy neighbourhood. The menu changes regularly. Food style is original - many influences but not copying. Ingredients are fresh, seasonal, and some grown on premises. Presentation is impeccable and sometimes even playful. This is a technically expert kitchen team - clever, but not pretentious. Boldly experimental yet not reckless. Portions are generous for the quality of the food. There are unique cocktails, and a short but well chosen wine and beer list. Service was classic - perfectly timed, and expertly informed. Our server was named Simon and he was wonderful! We are planning to return whenever possible. 5 stars

Rima E.

We had a great experience at Stofa. Our first time here, but definitely not our last. This is one of the best culinary experiences that you will have in Ottawa. They can accomated a variety of diets, including vegetarian.

Lili M

Visited Stofa on its opening night. This is a restaurant very clearly focused on the quality of their food. We started with the foie gras and smoked sturgeon appetizers - both were unique, exciting, and delicious. Our mains and sides followed suit and were equal parts surprising, familiar, and delicious - an amazing combination. Professional and fast service. Great desserts and coffee. I'm sure this place will become an Ottawa foodie staple. Will return.

Jason Leslie

We came for my birthday.. staff was excellent and so was the service. 5 course meal and we ate indoors which was a first for us in Ottawa 1.5 years which was a great experience. Amazing food. There are only a few places in Ottawa to get this type of good food but you'll pay a lot more for it.

Mislav Pavelic

Sat at the bar counter for a solo dinner. The bar staff were friendly and kept good conversation. The dishes were beautifully plated and the servings were generous. Can’t come here without having the soufflé for dessert

Diying Wu

Love the bread (and butter) and the dessert (chiffon cake)!

Mario Hoang

STOFA may be new to Ottawa’s culinary scene, but its food sure doesn’t feel that way. The menu sports a bold variety of starters, mains, and desserts to satisfy any appetite and have you coming back for more. A robust wine list, a couple of locally sourced wines (on tap!), and a refreshing selection of craft brews are on offer to cleanse the palate. The Scallops are my favourite dish – gently seared and cooked to perfection to unleash a torrent of flavours with every bite. I would also recommend the Halibut to indulge in a deliciously executed take on this commonly served flatfish. Make sure to save room for dessert, where attention to detail and creativity is not spared. Cross your fingers that the Passion Fruit Soufflé is still available - it is just melt-in-your-mouth incredible! I look forward to visiting again and trying out more of Chef Jason Sawision’s creations.

STEPHANIE CHEN

Having both eaten and staged here, the experience was wonderful both ways. The staff (both front and back) are delightful and very knowledgeable. The care and effort put into prep and plating is admirable, the welcoming nature makes you want to come back again and again, and the food itself is delicious. There's a reason they are on the Top 100 list.

John Francis

We tried the tasting menu last night. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Courses were spaced perfectly, and portion sizes were just right. Our server, Simon was knowledgeable, attentive and did a fantastic job. Beverage pairings were creative, well planned and all around excellent. My wife and I have gone far too long without a “date night” and the entire team did an exceptional job making our window of time together that much more enjoyable.

Katrina Verey

The food was amazing! Beautifully presented, unique flavours, reasonably priced and a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this venue for a relaxing night out or a special occasion. Make sure you get the sides - they are all delicious!

Ian Carswell

Had a delicious dinner on the patio. Food and drinks are top notch. The outdoor heaters kept everyone warm and cozy. Portion sizes were good. Dishes had lots of natural flavour to them; highly recommend the grilled peppers and the raspberry soufle.

Vijay

Absolutely delicious 4 course take-away dinner for 4! Highly recommend for a family dinner. Ample serving sizes and easy to follow heating up instructions. Menu changes weekly.

Drew Stewart

Service was amazing and friendly. Food was spectacular. The lamb was the best I've ever had.

Robert Maddock

Like many Ottawa offerings, this one is overpriced and mediocre. The service was fine, but that's about all. The dullness of a regular square room and close seating of most Ottawa establishments was spiced up by the fact that they sat us - a couple - directly in front of a semicircle table for six. It looked like we were on stage, and in full direct view of our encircling 'audience,' whose conversations consistently drowned our voices out. Can't imagine how uncomfortable this may have been for someone on a first date, and I can't say that it was the ideal setting for our wedding anniversary either. And yes, we had reservations. As for the food, it ranged from bad to ok. Tuna crudo was the worst I have ever had. The four tiny, yet not thinly enough sliced pieces were far from the usual buttery goodness of a high quality fish. The overly sweet concoction of the same shade as the tuna that they poured over it did not provide enough acid for the bit of kick that's required, and the flavourless tiny flat radish flowers disappointed doubly in terms of failing to add a pop of colour to a dour looking plate. The beet and paneer salad was not bad, presented nicely and with a somewhat odd, but fairly successful combination of flavours. The plate of gnudi was probably the best of the offerings, but the scallops were almost as disappointing as the tuna starter. Dessert was pretty tasty, but overall, the experience was a waste of time and money, especially considering the $200 + tip price tag.

Larisa Maizelman

Easily one of, if not THE best restauraunts in Ottawa

MyLinh Nguyen

Modern, sophisticated, and refined, but also quirky, playful, and fun. One of the few but noteworthy restaurants in Ottawa that offers an incredibly elevated dining experience without being fussy or stuffy. Should be spoken about in the same breath as Atelier, Signatures, and Bekta. Prepare to be delighted.

Anthony L

Every dish surprises you with its rich flavors and explods in your brain like festivals. Definitely come back.

Shawn Todd

Delighted by the attention to delighting all the senses in the meal.

Had a fabulous experience at Stofa, the food is delicious, beautifully presented and plentiful. The service is attentive without being intrusive, our first visit there but it won’t be the last!

Kathleen Arsenault

Fantastic! I had the scallops and my date had the stuffed pasta and we shared the rubarb soufflé. Everything was great, the scallops were buttery and full of flavour, the pasta was creamy and a little sweet but it was a great balance not too rich, just perfect. The rhubarb souffflé was absolutely killer such interesting flavor paired rilliantly with the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. 5/5!

SilverLight

We were delighted with the food presentation and taste. The restaurant has an interesting selection of wines, and the service was excellent. Overall, it was very pleasing experience and will return soon. We have only one small suggestion—keep the lights a bit lower to provide a relaxing ambiance. We noticed the lighting got brighter as the evening progressed.

Olga Tkachuk

Excellent service, top quality food, and lovely wine!

colleen toohey

Went last night for the first time and we were so impressed. The food was visually beautiful and absolutely delicious. All four of us had completely different appetizers and dinners and every one was delicious. We even requested they make us a cheese plate to go with our port and even though it wasnt on the menu they made it happen. Great food and amazing service!

Sonya Fontaine

Best reastaurant in the city, hands down. Staff are fantastic.

Christopher Castonguay

This was our first visit and will not be our last. The flavours of each plate were fantastic with matching service.

Nayma

Food and drinks was excellent ???? everything from the amuse bouche to the last little dessert they give when you get the check was *chef's kiss* the staff was great really professional explained all our dishes. 20/10⭐ HIGHLY recommend this restaurant love that every week the menu changes. Before this vaccine passport comes into effect I'm happy this is the last place I went ????

Jason Lawson

Wow! What a charming little restaurant. The dishes were immaculately presented and well thought out. Our server was knowledgeable and polite about the dishes and the wine offerings. Be prepared to spend a lot of time here, though. Our meal took almost 2 hours to get to us (we both ordered duck breast), but it was well worth it. A couple sitting next to us ordered the seafood tower and it looked like an absolute dream! Stofa- keep up the good work.

Simon E

Edit: second visit Wow, this place is incredible. Tonight we actually met chef Jason and what a treat! The menu he’s created is phenomenal! What an incredible variety of food! We came tonight with a large party (12 people) and tried every dish on the menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the seafood tower, all the elements of that dish were curated beautifully. As far as main dishes, you can’t go wrong with the scallops or ling cod. First visit: My boyfriend and I shared an excellent meal here. The food was very high quality and delicious and the staff was both friendly and knowledgeable. We’ll be visiting again!

Lara Trad

Every bite sparked joy! Truly high value experience all round. Food was perfect, service and decor right in line. Up there with San Francisco and New York foodie spots.

Heather Hurley

The food is amazing! Chef Jason has taken what I enjoy from the Ateliers of the world (where he worked as 2nd in command for many years) and has made them actually approachable. It's very hard to pick a favorite dish because each is very unique but if I had to it would be the Scallops. They are the best I've had in the city, these perfectly cooked scallops + crispy chicken skins should not be missed. Also get the bacon fat potatoes for the table, you won't regret it! Oh yeah, there is also wine. on. tap!

Angela Kuester

Amazing food, we had their takeout given the circumstances and it was the best meal I had in a long time. Wonderful service, great beverage options, amazing raspberry tea. Go!

Lynn Young

It's okay, i.e.; exactly what it says on the tin. The food and service are fine and definitely worth the price, it's only short of amazing because my 18$/h job can't allow me to budget going as much as I'd like.

M S

I have been 3 times so far and have yet to be disappointed. The food is fantastic and service is top drawer. I definitely recommend doing the blind tasting with wine pairing if you are looking for an adventurous food experience.

Justin Mageau

I attended with a group of 20 (Ottawa Dinner Club) and we were served 4 extremely unique appetizers which were like a party in your mouth. The remaining evening was a blur. The food and wine and service were exceptional! We certainly plan on returning! Definitely worth visiting! Well done Stofa staff!!!

Pam L.

Amazing 130$ promo takeaway dinner last night from Stofa Restaurant . Ordering and pickup is smooth and seemless. Food reheating instructions are foolproof and very straightforward. 5stars and 10/10 of quality and service.

Shelley Mac

We went there to celebrate a birthday, after seeing it written up in the Citizen. It was cosy, well decorated and welcoming. The staff were great - our waiter Simon in particular was awesome. We ordered the seafood tower, which was fantastic. The smoked sturgeon appetzier was my personal favourite. I'd highly recommend going.

Richard

What a fabulous meal we had. Although everything was perfect, the highlights of our meal were: Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi / Wild Boar and Apricot Souflé - to die for!!

We had an incredible experience! From the wine on-tap right until the sour cherry soufflé for dessert, our minds were continually blown. As a self-proclaimed “foodie” I was in awe of the flavors, freshness, presentation (some dishes almost looked too good to eat...almost), and food combinations. The seafood tower was epic, and the duck and scallops were absolute perfection. Despite being a large party of 10, the service was outstanding- we never felt rushed, and our courses were perfectly timed. I will definitely be coming back!

Vanessa Dennies

Excellent food, imaginative and tasty. Very welcoming and attentive waiting staff. I will be back!

Mike M

Stofa. Stube. So warm and welcoming. Amazing service. The food has layer upon layer of flavour. Had the pork belly cavatelli, hit the smoked sweet potato at the bottom and BAM completely different taste. Foie gras two ways and completely unique to anything I've had and I've had a LOT of foie around the world. Husband had the crab cakes and scallops, dreamy. It's like, homestyle dishes with a modern upscale twist. So many techniques but nothing gets lost. We will 100 be back soon. Definitely has me craving the rest of the menu. I plan to eat my way through the entire thing. YUMMO. Go here. GO!!!!

Edward Bryant

We just had the takeaway meal for 4 they called “Stofa on the Sofa”. Everything was delicious! The ribs were so tender and juicy and came with a cola bbq sauce. The potato-truffle focaccia worked great with every dish. Mere words can not describe how good it all was I highly recommend trying this place!

Stephen Sitarski

Great value. Great service. Of the 6 dishes we had, 5 excellent. The jerk quail dish shown was particularly good.

Kathryn Ze

My boyfriend and I ate here for our 4 year anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious, and I would consider myself a harder critique when it comes to fine dining restaurants! We had the soft shell crab, mushroom soup, pork wellington and the souffle. Everything was cooked to perfection, portions were great too, as I know with most fine-dining restaurants, the portions are very small. We definitely ate to satiety. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. They included a special touch for our anniversary (cream puffs and house made chocolates) and a card signed by the entire staff which was very sweet. Highly recommend!

Excellent food, service and ambiance last night! Simon was especially patient and accommodating with our large group of 14 guests on the patio - fantastic service. The raspberry souffle and strawberry shortcake were the best desserts Ive had in a long time, cocktail winner is pink negroni. Favorite dishes were definitely the beef tartar, and strip-loin. The cavatelli was a little under-cooked (2 mins more would have been perfect al dente). Would recommend for a special occasion, and definitely recommend requesting a reservation in advance!

Great place If your’e looking for something very intimate. The food was great and fresh, awesome options. Service was fantastic, quick and gave you the space that you needed. And the atmosphere was just awesome. 100% recommend, in the heart of Wellington. Amazing place to surprise a date or a spouse. Definitely an upcoming fine dine experience.

Tasting menu was stellar. The attention to detail impressive. I recommend the wine pairing. The service was equally excellent.

I love the place the atmosphere is good ; friendly staff and they offer a unique menu but I gave only 3stars because their food portions is very small so after 60_70$ bill you leave hungry ????

Super tasty food and great service! Love the creative curbside BBQ-- would be cool for it to continue post-pandemic!

Excellent meal and the servers were so great and knowledgeable. We had the tasting menu which was unique and well-served. It wasn’t the best meal I ever had, but the flavours were delicious! We were even presented with a gift on our departure with a thank you from the chef!

Fun, interesting, and delicious. The pork main dish was outrageously good. Boyfriend commented "best scallops I've ever had". Service was pleasant and knowledgeable. We'll be back.

This was a 9 course New Year's Eve blind tasting menu. Positives : 7/9 dishes were excellent and innovative. Toward the end of the meal ingredients were less transformed and just put on the plate without much thought. The waiter as well knew his wine but did not seem to be as knowledgeable with the food we ate. The lasting taste will be what felt like a spoonful of sugar. Great ambiance and a nice way to spend New Year's Eve!

The whole meal with each course we kept going this is really, really, really good. Great service and felt very safe inside in terms of seating. A new favourite spot in Ottawa.

The food was incredible, and the service was even better! I had Made a last minute reservation for a group of four and the staff were so accommodating. We had told them about my sister's birthday and they made it very special for us. Thank you Stofa, we will be back!

Easily the best meal my wife and I have had in a long time. Bragged about it for three days straight. Service and sommelier service was top shelf. This place is a gem - and I'm so glad it's on our radar. Definitely a favourite.

We ate here for our anniversary and it was absolutely 10 out of 10. We got the fixed menu and they were very accommodating to my dairy allergy. I also did my menu with the wine pairing and really like that they had paired most of the wines from Canadian vineyards. Now for the food, everything tasted perfect. I chose the stuffed calamari, the wild boar parardelle pasta, and the soufflé for dessert. The service in the atmosphere we are top notch. And the other nice touch was that the music was not too loud so that I could not have a pleasant conversation. We sat inside and I Felt very comfortable with their social distancing and sanitation. The whole experience was exceptional and I would highly recommend eating here. Anna

A truly amazing restaurant - relaxed, unhurried, and perfect for conversation over dinner. I highly recommend splurging on the tasting menu with wine pairings. Every course was delicious, well paced and adventurous, and the staff remarkably knowledgeable and professional. Not a single misstep the entire evening. An exceptional experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Amazing service by staff and loved the ambiance and decor. We both chose the 5 course tasting menu, (with wine pairing) & ordered different dishes so as to share. My only comment is the flavours were very subtle and light. I would have preferred slightly more intense flavours. But that's subjective.
