Absolutely love this restaurant. From my first visit here I have been treated like a regular. Super fast service. They remember your name and your drink and food preferences. The parking is very easy to access and centrally located. The restaurant is kept super clean and the food is awesome. The pool table is a bonus also. They also have live bands and a spacious dance floor. An Oshawa must see for sure.

Great live music spot. They had a Reno recently and the vibe is much improved. The place needed a refresh. The staff hustle when it's busy and you can tell that are all experienced. Food is on par with any local pub. Menu has a good selection and they have a good variety of beer.

Came for some drinks wings and live music on Friday. All in all a good time. Music played between the band's sets was much, much too loud. Couldn't hold a conversation, other that pretty good place Wings were decent, the beer was reasonable in price. Will come back again 3.5/5

First time ordering using skip the dishes. We were worried ordering so late (9:55pm) on a Thursday night. The food arrived in 35mins and let me tell you!!! Food was nice and hot, my beef dip was great! My wife had the Sheppard’s pie and she said the veggies were the BEST and the carrots were the BEST she’s EVER had ANYWHERE. We are pretty picky eaters too - so this is high praise. Fast pleasant delivery person via skip the dishes and the food was great! Will definitely order again and may even stop in to enjoy the facilities since it’s just down the road! Thanks Whiskeys!

I have been to whiskey johns twice, the first time we went mike came and talked to us and we got to meet Georgia. They were very sweet and just amazing people. The second time we walked in and they remembered our names and details about thing we had talked about. The staff are amazing and the food is phenomenal. Thank you so much to Mike, Georgia and the kitchen staff for making this a go to restaurant. If you are in the area and hungry go to whiskey johns!

This place is complete garbage. Just ordered food for my wife for her to come home to after work. Plastic in her salad, the sour cream was bad and there was mold all over the container on the inside. When she called to address the situation, they told her she was lying and called her crazy. Health department will be getting a call tomorrow. Whoever took that phone call should be fired.

This was my first visit with a large group for a Christmas party. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good. It had different sports playing on the TVs. They had music playing until the Leafs game started and then they played the game commentary. It was a friendly atmosphere overall. The washrooms were nice and they had some historical artifacts on the walls. I would certainly go there again!

The boys and I go out for beer and wings here pretty much every Thursday and they taste great, their huge and great selections. Staff is friendly, severe is good for how packed it is on Thursday and the beer is always ice cold! To the people who said "their steaks were screwed up, the waitress wasn't paying attention "...sorry, but if your ordering steaks in a bar (lmfao) you obviously know nothing about steak, therefore shouldn't be rating them lol... (ordering steaks at a bar lol!)

December 31, 2017. What a poorly run event. The wait staff were run off their feet and did the best they could with the kitchen which was beyond slow. To top that off, the Food was TERRIBLE! The lobster tail was rubbery, the vegetables were over cooked and soggy, the beef was fatty and the Greek salad was limp. We were seated at 7 p.m. and the food finally served by 9:45 p.m. Some patrons were fortunate enough to get dessert which was finally served to select patrons by 11:30 p.m. The plus side of the evening was the band, they were excellent!

This is the 2nd time I have been to this restaurant. My first experience was not so good however I thought we would give it a try again. Our waitress Amanda was fantastic she was attentive from the time we were seated right up to receiving our bill. Her recommendations for food were bang on, we really enjoyed our meal and have been won back as customers. It is hard to find great service these days hence this review. Was there a week ago Wednesday, servers on shift were super rude, so bad that I didn't leave any tip and I left early and went elsewhere. I was originally a regular for karaoke nights at this location but I will not go back due to the poor service with the waitresses taking crazy long to even take my order, let alone get my drinks or food and the waitresses being super rude. I've honestly never been treated so poorly by any waiter or waitress ever. Some of my friends won't even go back. Would give a 0 star review is possible.

WE LOVE Whisky John's. We've ordered from them over 10 times now, we love them so much. We discovered them through SkiptheDishes and have actually never been inside their facility (although we're really looking forward to the day that we do). It's as simple as this: They're. Are. Go. To. Their menu has a fantastic range of options, and they're also perfect for absolutely any diet or dietary restrictions you may have. They're always super attentative to the notes we add to our order and provide an excellent quality of service. You always get the best value for your money and they fulfil orders within a very reasonable time. I HIGHLY recommend that you either visit or take-out/pick-up from them for your next meal as you surely will not be disappointed. Also.... try their wings, they're truly to die for.

Went with high expedition because I heard/read their wings were good. They were ok at best. Ordered the honey garlic and sweet chilli tie . Wings were not crispy and sauce was tipical bottled sauce. Was there with a large group and over all everyone's meal was just ok. Staff were friendly but could have been more attentive. Considering the tip would be substantial on a large group expected to be offer water when seated or at the very least aaked if I would like another paid beverage. Not a place I will be heading back to. That's why they say first impressions are everything.

These guys are top notch. I have ordered from them 3 or 4 times and they always include every condiment and cutlery without me having to ask for it. The food portions (that I have got) have been great and I have always enjoyed the food a lot. Too put it in perspective I do not drink alcohol but I love this bar haha. The value of the food is perfect in my opinion as well. Kitchen is also consistent and everything is presented well even in takeout containers. Never change Whisky Johns never change and thank you!

Order came with missing items. Called the restaurant and was told manager needed to review footage to see if it was packed. Come the next day I call to follow up and was told by 5pm they would give me a call back. Still waiting on that call. The food received was ok, but the customer service was terrible and this is the second issue I've had with them now. They obviously have no want to maintain a good customer service.

What a nightmare getting takeout from this Bar! The waitress made me pay for the wrong order, and my food sat and got cold as she didnt realize that it was my food. She then gave me the wrong order (good thing I noticed) after finally realizing her error all she was concerned about was charging me an additonal THREE dollars for my cold food. Got home and they forgot the wifes french onion soup. Paid 43 dollars for cold food, attached is a couple pictures of their disgusting slimy chicken bites and their ice cold French onion soup with hard, unmelted swiss cheese. I AM NEVER RETURNING TO THIS BAR.

Terrible food, I ordered the Whiskey Crisps Nachos from skip the dishes. Ordered without tomatoes, olives, and jalapenos, but only the tomatoes were removed from the order so the note on the order was clearly ignored. The potato slices weren't even kettle cooked so I was basically eating sad slices of potato. Overall was not a good experience, especially since food I've ordered before have been quite mediocre. Won't be wasting my money again here.

Used to come here frequently since it's a very short walk from my home but after our experience on Halloween night I'm so annoyed that I probably won't be back. First of all, the service was horrible and it wasn't even that busy. A male server dressed as Waldo was probably the most inattentive server I've ever experienced. It took probably 10 minutes or more within sitting down (right in the bar area btw so it's not like we weren't visible) before he even came to take our orders and we had to ask for a menu it was not offered. We stayed well over an hour and not once did the server come to check up on us to see if we needed more drinks or to take away our plates as he seemed to be preoccupied sitting at the bar drinking. It was so bad that we had to stop another girl who worked there to request our bill and she got it herself while he busied himself on a bar stool doing shots and chit chatting. We tipped zero dollars which is more than he deserved. Secondly, and much worse in my opinion, our spinach and cheese dip had several tiny bits of plastic in it. We let the waitress who we had to grab know and she brought it back to the kitchen and had it removed from our bill. No clue what the origin of the tiny bits of plastic were but I don't want to risk eating anything from the kitchen there again. What if it was glass or something instead of plastic? How the hell did little bits of plastic get into our dip anyhow? The servers don't seem to care, the kitchen doesn't seem to care, and I'm sure management doesn't care either therefore I don't care. There's plenty of other bars and restaurants in the area and I'll take my business there instead.

I had been here a few times and always had a pretty decent time from the live bands to the music that they play. This past Friday I was there, and it was really busy. Despite being so busy, our waitress Amanda was really attentive to our needs. She was always checking in to see if we had our drinks and our food. She even knew when someone else brought our meal that we didn't get our fries and corrected that right away. She really was on top of everything and that made our night there so much more enjoyable as we felt like a valued customer. Thank you Amanda!

Ordered the whiskey john chicken wrap and they put turkey in it. Maybe because its the day after Thanksgiving. But still it says chicken. I told my server she brought it to the back and came back with it a few minutes later saying that it was dark chicken meat. I pointed at it and said yes there is some chicken in there but look at all that dark turkey meat. I think i would know the difference of turkey and chicken since i just had it the night before. Sorry but thats cheap management.

Friday 6:45 arrival. Ordered a few drinks then put our order in for food. Our server was unfortunately not very good but she admitted she was new (few days) But I blame the Management…she was not properly trained. She should not have been on the floor on a Friday night shift. She did not know anything about the menu (it is a very big menu but just about everything is frozen then deep fried, but still) She should be trained on day shifts until she is familiar with menu items, what’s on tap, specials etc. Our food took 45 mins to arrive and then we had no silverware or napkins or salt and pepper or condiments. In the end we suffered because the management did not properly train the staff. 4 customers that probably will never return.

I will never go back to this establishment again. Food was warm at best. We went to have good wings and watch Thursday night football ...to our surprise they were unaware it was a football night and they did not have enough staff to serve all the tables efficiently. My hamburger came to the table with a mangled up top bun and it took 15min to get me a new bun...ridiculous!!! It took 20 minutes for someone to come over to get us our 1st drink order ( never mind food). DJ music was sooooo loud that we couldn't even talk to each other over the sound and when I asked if it was possible to lower the music a bit, the server looked at me and laughed out loud and said ...NOT LIKELY!. At 10pm almost every table got up to leave ( all strangers talking in the parking lot about the horrible experience we all had). For the first tie in my life, I hate to say, but I DID NOT leave a tip. My friend call the next day to speak to the manager and he was told that the owner would call him, to discuss our experience...NO PHONE CALL CAME. We were 4 people-$200 bill-live locally-WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.

Been here twice before and had the rib and wing combo both times and they were great. However, was there last night and found out it was wing night. Place was packed. Had to wait for a table which was no problem. Our server took our orders. We all three ordered the same order. Ribs and wings. Since it was wing night we figured we would get our dinner shortly. Ribs are already cooked too. WRONG! It took 45 mins! We were just getting ready to leave. 'Oh, sorry.' was all we got. I'm diabetic and had already taken my insulin not thinking we would have to wait so long. I will be going back, but next time I'll time it and not go on a Thursday. Our server didn't even bother to offer any kind of discount for the very long wait. I understand they were busy, but from arriving to leaving was almost 3 hours. Sorry but that is a little long considering people arriving after us left before us.

I used to go there 3 to 4 times a week when I used to be at Vpi but after that period of time the experience there keep getting worse. It happened twice that I went there and had to wait an hour for my food the first time I was hungry but my phone was charge so I was kinda distracted during the whole time but the second time I got so angry and frustrated because the waitress waited 25 before bringing me my water.

It's kind of a hole in the wall bar that got a complete reno but kept the original crowd. Wings are good and the karaoke is terrible but hilarious. Seems like it's a lot of regulars there after 11pm. Place has a lot of TVs.

September 16/2021. Food was so so. Paula the waitress was rude and slow. I asked for separate bills and she shook her head in disgust. After asking for our bill twice, she finally got around to it 15 minutes later. She was nasty at LaScratch I was told by others. Anyway, I laid $55 on the table for a $37 bill. That’s an $18 tip. I had to pull $5 back for poor service. She deserved no tip because she said to my friend, “what’s his problem”? My problem Paula is you’re rude. You still got a good tip but we won’t be back.

So just tried whisky John's for the first time and I was very impressed we got 3lbs wings 3 different flavors deep fried pickles cheesy bread and fries. The wings were very meaty and cooked perfectly with crispy outside juicy inside my personal favorite was the lemon pepper. I'm normally not a fan of take out fries because I find them soggy yet I found there fries kept there crisp and were very yummy. My husband loved the cheesy bread I was to full to try it lol And deep fried pickles were delicious! All in all have no complaints will definitely be ordering from here again!????

I ordered Uber Eats from here, got the buffalo chicken wrap, crab cakes and the buffalo chicken flat bread. All the food was good and tasty. It arrived warm. The chicken wrap came with a nice portion of fries. You get 3 crab cakes. And the flatbread was a nice size as well. I would recommend this restaurant, the pricing is fair and the portions are good.

The waitresses and staff here are nice, good with accommodating large groups but the DJ plays music WAY too loud. Last time we were here we asked that he turned it down because we were with a large group of people and we couldn’t have a conversation (the place was dead besides our group and a couple people at the bar, no one on dance floor) instead of turning it down he proceeded to turn the music up and call us out on the microphone for asking us to turn it down. we ended up leaving because it was so loud. We recently went back and the music was again soooo loud for no reason, if there is no one dancing and it’s only 10 o’clock there is no need to have it so loud people can’t have a conversation, even the waitress said it was too loud she had trouble taking orders..

I work in costumers services and I can’t believe how this waitress treated my family last night. We walked out and I will never be going back and will be telling everyone I know. Rolled her eye, ignored me when I asked a question, looks like she hated her job, huff and puffed like a child when we asked to seat in a booth that need a quick wipe. Food tasted like plastic. I ordered the stuffed yorkshire and the yorkshire pudding was as hard as rock. The beef tasted like one of those pre-packaged dinners from Walmart. The wings had a plastic taste. Will never order from there again! I received a response from the owner offering to discuss further if I email her. Unfortunately she did not provide an email address so I don't really classify this as resolving the issue.

Did you have someone with a brain injury in the kitchen tonight? Your party platter is garbage. Everything is over cooked and theres no sauce to bring this dried out, bland garbage back to life. $25? Just looking at it the second I opened it I could tell he screwed up. The wings and rolls were really over cooked. The mozzarella sticks were under cooked. The chicken was sliced prior to deepfry so it was hard as rock batter and the meat was like cardboard and instead of the sub we requested we got extra, dried out garbage bread... sorry, I meant garlic bread. Looks as if he burnt the 2 first items and then was trying to play catchup with the chicken and mozzarella sticks.

Came for a Birthday with friends-8 made reservations but didn't get area we reserved, the waitress was really busy and couldn't check up on us enough (we are not booze drinkers). Friend ordered salad and her lettuce was basically a head of lettuce with big chunks of lettuce, I told waitress and instead of asking her if she wants to take it home, give a discount. I ordered pickle fries and they had pickle skins but some with pickles. The wings were good that I ordered. It was a very busy night.

I so disappointed with the food we picked up today.They told us the food would be ready in 30 minutes but had to wait extra 20 more minutes. We had a long day and thought we can pick up food from this place because we have ordered on uber before. We ordered fish and chips; NY Striploin. Fish tasted bitter and soggy I could have ate it but they forgot to give us the tartar sauce. NY Striploin had no seasoning; the vegetables had more seasoning. I called to let them know that they were missing the tartar sauce the girl on the phone said no manager here and that she left at 9pm and to call back tomorrow. No empathy or wanting to resolve the issue. The right thing to do would have been either deliver new food or asked us to bring the food back so they can make us something new. The staff needs to be trained properly. Needless to say I am very disappointed and would never order from there again.

STAY AWAY! Me and my group had went to Whisky Johns in Oshawa last evening, we got our orders taken and our drinks came out within reasonable time. After we ordered our food it took up to 2 hours for the food to be placed on our table. We asked the waiter when it will be coming and all we got was a "It shouldn't be much longer." We had ordered more drinks that took almost a hour for it to come out, it still came out before our food. Our food finally came out and it wasn't the best. We were never given an explanation nor an appoligy as to why our food was 2 hours late and we were still expected to pay full price on our bills. At the end of it all I still thanked the waiter and was polite and went on with my business. I've never ever been treated this way at a restaurant and I will not be going back.

Excellent restaurant. Went with a group of friends to try their wing special. Buy any drink and get up to 4lbs for $5.50 each. It was a great deal. Wings were really good and substantial. The service was very helpful and the space was clean. They also have a decent pool table for $2/game and many TVs for sports. All in all, a great experience and I'll definitely be back -- maybe even next week ????.

On Saturday, September 11th my sister had her husband's funeral guests attend Whisky John's for drinks and appetizers. The venue itself was perfect and our servers were on point and very gracious. The food.....what can I say....it was delicious and plentiful and a terrific selection. As all was not eaten they even went so far as to put the extras in takeout containers and labelled them. Being from out of town I would 100% recommend Whisky John's!!!

Just finished our last meal at Whiskey Johns. The service was rude and slow.. The food was nasty. I ordered the fish and chips, the batter was burnt and fish was soggy and wet. She ordered a chicken sandwich with a poutine.. the poutine gravy was stone cold and so were the fries and the sandwich itself was mediocre at best. We had left most of our food on our plate and we had politely informed the server that the food wasn’t good... she did nothing for us. Paid our bill... and was looking forward to the candy at the end.. it was black liquorice flavoured... it’s now in the parking lot. Only good thing was the beer. Never again!

My wife had a steak penne with a mushroom peppercorn sauce with goat cheese I got to try a bit of it and I have to say they nailed it well. Our waitress and staff were amazing polite professional couldn't ask for anything more looking for many good returns when going back. just ordered from Skip the Dishes after several orders from Whisky Johns we are done! I ordered mushroom caps that must have been left over from someone else's order earlier...they were completely cold, not even a little bit warm, overcooked and hard...maybe leftover ones in the bottom of the fryer? and there weren't enough left to fill an order, so what did they do? filled half the box with a "bed" of lettuce to make it look like a full order! For this I paid $17.00? Outrageous.

First time ordering from this place, was not enjoyable, had food to go, and found out that it was way too salty, ordered the chicken quesadilla, and dry ribs and mushroom caps. Mushroom caps were so salty inedible ( through them out.) , the salad had rotten pieces of greens again a waste, the ribs were supposed to be dry ribs which weren't too bad but only thing one can taste is a heavy dose of bbq sauce ( can't taste the rib!!!). Over all I can only give one star it won't allow me to give no star! Will I recommend this place to anyone.... NO!

In town for a hockey tournament, and thought we'd give it a try. We both had burgers, one with fries and one with Greek salad. The burgers were overcooked and seemed to be cooked from frozen, but had lots of toppings. The fries are definitely frozen. Why have so many poutine options with frozen fries? The salad was fine. Me and my family went here tonight for dinner. The restaurant wasn't very busy. We all got the wing and fries deal and ordered an appetizer. The waitress we had was decent in the beginning. When the food came it looked fine but as soon as we all tried our wings they tasted like fish. We were starving so we tried to eat them but could barley even eat half. We asked the waitress if they use the same fryer for fish but we could not even get a straight answer. There was no manager to talk to everyone seemed clueless. We waited like 20 mins just to get an answer and a bill. They still made us pay for it. We will not be returning. Terrible food and costumer service.
