This is one of the best kept secrets in Durham. In my estimation the most delicious burger in the Region with fries to die for. The burger is seasoned which my not be too everyone's taste but pushes all the right buttons for me. Juicy and cooked perfectly. It is obvious the chef loves what he does and the table service is as efficient as it is family hospitable. Daily specials are varied and great value. Come check out this family owned and run eatery, they make you feel part of the family experience. You won't be disappointed.

We entirely enjoyed our first experience here this evening. We didn't call before we came and couldn't get a burger as they had run out of buns, but, were able to get chili dogs and gyro dinner with no probs... everything tasted amazing! Loved the old-school fresh homemade fries, without a ton of salt you normally expect these days. We were missing an item once we made it home but called right away and they said they would make it right when we come back in. The peanut butter milkshake was TO DIE FOR and highly recommended. Food sizes were fantastic! Thank you. :)

My man and I ordered Philly cheese steak, chicken souvlaki, onion rings, Greek salad and baklava. Best food hands down in all of Oshawa, my only complaint was the baklava that was soaking wet swimming in some sort of liquid so disappointed with the baklava sigh. However even though the baklava was a COMPLETE disappointment the rest of my order was delicious, I would definitely eat here again and I would highly recommend this restaurant.p

Food was delicious. Honestly it took me over 40 minutes to get a burger and fries, pretty pathetic for a fast food joint. Overly expensive. Definitely prefer going elsewhere for a fast food treat. If money and waiting almost an hour isn't an issue then this is the place for you for delicious grub. But for me time is money

This place is a gem and I’m so glad to have found it. Great service and fantastic food with huge portions! Mac and Cheese with Bacon & The Canadian hamburger (with peameal bacon, aged cheddar, and fried egg). They serve fresh cut fries, which I love. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake which was a good size and thick, yummy! Others in my party ordered the gyros and Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, both were good.

Had my 1st experience with one of their burgers and onion rings last week. 5 star Delicious! Nice to actually taste meat despite ALL the toppings I requested on it. A real burger, spiced just right and thick...not a tasteless meat patty. Much better taste than the 'Burger' chain franchises where topping overpower any meat taste. Equally priced with the 'Burger' chain franchises with actual value for the $. They are closed Sunday and Monday. I discovered this when I went back both of these days. lol I should have read their 'hours' signage. I did go back Tuesday and was well fed. :) For a privately owned small restaurant it is clean, prices are good and the service was top notch. Give them a try folks.

Amazing gem located in Oshawa. If you are passing through or haven’t tried, you need too! It’s a family run business that takes pride in what they do. The portion sizes are plentiful and you will not be disappointed. My go too is the Gyro Pita and Greek Salad. My son really enjoyed their kid’s chicken fingers dinner. Their fries and poutine are top notch for as well. I also can’t forget to mention the in house made coconut cream pie!! Just pop by, support a local family run business and fill your belly with their amazing food!

Uncle Archie's Grill is in the very south end of Oshawa on Simcoe Street. Just a small place... blink and you would miss it. Recently they painted the building in Greek bright blue a white colors. Very friendly service, fantastic food, huge portions! The must have item is their chicken sandwich called 'The Mother Clucker'. Deep fried, juicy and flavourful. Their burger is also a winner, weighing in at 10 oz. with any toppings you want, including a fried egg. This heavyweight is a keeper!!! Fresh cut fries (including Greek fries), onions rings and more. Uncle Archie's is a hidden gem you need to try.

Uncle Archie's Grill Inc is the best place to go for food. Their burgers are out of this world and the "Mother Clucker" is probably the best chicken burger I have ever had. I have a hard time finishing it as it is so big. We go here probably once a week and this is our "go to" place for dinner. Everyone is absolutely Fantastic here and their coconut cream pie is incredible. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

If you are looking for authentic Gyro Dinner with Lemony Greek Potatoes and Rice paired with Greek Salad& Feta Cheese Pita Bread & Tzakiki sauce and great homemade deserts from a local business in South Oshawa. We've ordered from Uncle Archie's a few times and each time we have been super impressed with the food. I am a big guy and ordered the double patty and had a hard time finishing my burger. They are juicy and delicious and the price point is great! Haven't tried the breakfast but look forward to it one day soon. They are just around the corner from where we live but I would drive out of my way for their food. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. This is a recently opened restaurant, (as of my review, April 2), and the food was great. I had a burger combo, (a whopping 8oz patty), with some delicious fries. The gravy was good, and I look forward to having the poutine here. The current owners have put a lot of work into fixing up and changing the interior of this place, (formerly burger yard and double burger), and you will hardly recognize it. It was all family running the show when we went, and everyone was very professional and courteous. They care about your experience in their restaurant. 10/10 experience and we will be back.

We got the Mother Clucker, Big Bubba, fries and onion rings. Both sandwiches were HUGE. We had enough for lunch the next day. Everything was delicious as well - we really liked the seasoning of the burger and the chicken was perfect. We ordered in person and were told 25 minutes, ended up being ready in under 20. Definitely coming back to try more!

Decided to give Uncle Archie’s a try on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was about as busy as it could get without people lining up out the door. We took it as a good sign, and boy were we right! I ordered the breakfast with a side of pancakes, and my wife ordered the Gyro dinner. My first mistake: ordering the breakfast AND the pancakes. The portions are huge! But the food was fantastic. The Greek salad my wife was served as an appetizer was delicious. I highly recommend Uncle Archie’s. Give it a try, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Saw many good reviews for Uncle Archie's and decided to go in and try it out. Went on a Tuesday afternoon, the sign with the hours said they were supposed to be open, but they were closed and no explanation. They say that sometimes your 1st impression is your last. That may have to be the case this time. Quite disappointed.

Lets just say, I am happy I wore stretchy pants today!!! I got the chili burger with an extra patty and onion rings. The onion rings were nice and crispy, the onions didn't really fall out of them easily like most onion rings. I definitely did not need 20 oz of beef, but I loved every minute of it! The chili has mushrooms in it for those cautious of that vegetable, but everything was great!

Went to try out the Archie’s Bluecheese hamburger. First bite was very juicy and delicious. I took my time eating the hamburger, enjoying each bite until I finished the whole hamburger. Tasted fresh and loved the seasoning put into the meat. The bluecheese really complimented the fried onions placed on the burger. There was also crispy smoked bacon on the hamburger, which made the experience even better. Haven’t tried any other hamburgers on the menu, but I will say this, it is definitely worth a try. I highly recommend.

Went for a visit to Uncle Archie's in Oshawa tonight and got dinner for the family.... Hands down fresh cooked food from scratch (NO PROCESSED FOOD) you can't go wrong... We got Philly steak, Jr. Chicken, Jr. Archie and Blue Archie.... All came out delicious and finger licking good! Must try... and best for your buck! Not overly priced like most burger joint... very affordable when feeding a family or a single person. The environment very friendly and clean. Best part family owned ❤

The hype is real. Ordered the mother clucker, Archie Blue, Greek fries and a Greek salad. We called ahead and placed our order, everything went smoothly. Everything was ready as soon as we arrived and everyone was super friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back for more!

We could say the food tops a list but that really doesn't do it justice. 3 Mother Cluckers, Archie Classic, Steak on a Kaiser, Large Fries and a grape soda... The Family was full and under our out take out budget. Fries are always a way to tell if a place takes pride in their food... most look at fries as a filler, they are not and should compliment what you ordered. These fries were great, seasoned and cooked the way we like them. I've been in and out of a lot of great Mom & Pop and truck stops, some are really hard to beat. Uncle Archie's Grill is a place we will go back and you should too. Our family wants to say thank you for adding to a great night, that we all needed.

First time trying the place after great reviews on google. The portions are huge but I was disappointed with my fries and my moms onion rings. Everything is sooooo salty!!!! We should have played it safe and ordered salads. The excessive salt is gross and ruins the sides. Especially after paying an upgrade fee for the rings!

Great little hidden gem in Oshawa. I had the Mother Clucker and fries and my word was it HUGE. Easily enough for two meals. The chicken was cooked perfectly; nice and juicy, and well-seasoned. My only complaints however are that nobody in the restaurant was wearing masks. When bringing food out to customers they would put one on, but inside there wasn't any, and it made me slightly uncomfortable. (EDIT, i have been informed that everyone working lives together, which makes things slightly more acceptable so i have amended my review a tad) 2nd is that it took a LONG time to be ready. I tried to order over the phone but just got a machine, and there was no online ordering option so i just walked in. Took close to 50 minutes I think. Still the quality of food is definitely worth a visit!

We picked up the chicken souvlaki dinner. Oh my goodness, truly amazing. The greek salad has lots of feta cheese,tomatoes, onion and cucumber, yummy. The rice and potatoes are excellent, generous portions of chicken and the homemade sauce is superb. Highly recommend.

We were searching for a great local place with good reviews and stumbled across uncle Charlies. We've read enough and decided to head out. Can't say enough about the great food, the great staff and more than reasonable prices. The portions are great for even the greatest of eaters. Ordered the gyro dinner and the spouse had the souvlaki dinner. Gyro was great and so was the souvlaki. The Greek salad was amazing and their garlic bread will keep us apart for the evening... haha.

Wife's Clubhouse wasn't bad. My double burger was greesy on the outside but burnt, tough and dry on the inside. Fires weren't cooked at the right temperature...were greesy when you touched them and greesy if you squeezed them. A sign that the oil isn't at the right temperature when the fries were put in. I needed up throwing out the burger and fires.....made me feel sick after eating. Sorry but will not be returning.

Archie's is not in a part of Oshawa that I usualy find myself in. Were it not for having a coupon, I likely would not have heard of it, let alone gone there. It is certainly unassuming, to say the lest. Ordered 2 chicken souvlaki dinners. Well, they turned into 2 souvlaki dinners, breakfests and lunches for us. Was more than surprised at the quantity of food I came away with. My wife said that the Greek salad was the best she ever had. The potatoes were delicious as were the souvlaki. Well worth the journey.

Very fresh and huge portions. They pack everything with care too! Not open for inside dining yet so only did pickup. It was my first time and went there on the recommendation of a friend. I really liked the meal, I'm not from Durham but I stopped in a few months ago when I was working in the area. Chatted with the staff and they seem like genuine people! But... when I was about to leave, I said thank you, left my money (and nice tip) on the table (as I do at any sit down eatery where you are served) and walked out the door. One of the staff members was yelling at me out the door claiming I didnt pay? She soon noticed that I did in fact pay and stopped calling. It was uncomfortable and awkward, as I had very clearly left the money and nice tip right on the table and had been nothing but friendly and gracious? It rubbed me the wrong way that they would assume that I left without paying (especially after I chatted with them the entire time).

Was there on August the 8th.This place is better then a home cooked meal.I had the Philly steak with fries,and it was fantastic. My go to place was Star burger for Philly Steak and Uncle Archie's beats it hands down. Some restaurants can do fries but Uncle Archie's fries taste like Chip Truck fries that are cooked to perfection. Mike and Heather make you feel.like home . and They talk and visit with you while he cooks. You can judge a restaurant by the looks this place is spotless.

Tried Uncle Archie's last night for the first time after hearing so many good reviews. Well, it sure did not disappoint. We ordered the gyro dinner, and steak sandwich combo. ☡BEWARE!!!☡ ☞Our 1st order was the Bubba Burger and it came with no cheese as it should have. ☞The other order was just a regular burger and we asked for just ketchup and it had NOTHING on it. ☞The staff were all grouchy and gave cut eye when I was surprised that AFTER I paid they said it was going to take 45-50 mins to cook our burger!!! I was polite the whole time and said it was fine and still they were rude after. ☞One burger was not cooked properly and we had an upset stomach after and threw most of it out????. ☞I asked for a recipt which I don't ever need but for this occasion (no one's busissnes to why) they said they'd provide me with one when I recieved the food and they didn't after all. Then when I requested for one again they huffed and puffed and gave me a cheesy looking recipt with no name of the place on it and even for the WRONG meal. ????*****THIS PLACE IS A JOKE and wanted to let everyone know of our terrible experience. For me to write a review publicly I'm not exaggerating the people and especially the food was REALLY bad!!!*****????

Excellent food at reasonable prices. On a road trip down the 401 and wanted to avoid the Onroute fast food, and was looking for something independent and good. Gave this a try and really lucked out. Club Sandwich, Philly Steak and burgers were all delicious.

It takes a good scoff to fill up the big man and boy did this place do it. The single hamburger Is one hefty beast although a little overseasoned for my liking. Still juicy and cooked thoroughly. They aren’t shy with the toppings either. With the combo they give you enough fries to feed a family of three or four people. And they were cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I didn’t realize they had already been salted and, after adding a little bit of salt at home, they were way too salty to enjoy. Many incarnations of burger joints have occupied this space over the decades but these people are doing it right. About $13 for the combo.

Tonight I ordered take out from Archies for the second time, and this is by far the best burger I have ever had, other then the last time I ordered here. Also their perogies and wings are incredible. They are friendly and take pride in what they are serving, many other restaurants could take some lessons from Archies.

My fiance and I stopped here to grab dinner on Tuesday. We both had got a burger combo and upgraded the fries into a poutine. The burgers massive, tender and flavourful. The toppings were generous and the burgers by themselves were very filling. As for the pountine, it was also cooked to perfection topped with what appears to be shredded cheese and covered in a thick beef gravy. The portions were very generous and we both were surprised as we usually get half the amount of food in comparison to other restaurantes. We will definitely be back for more.
