One word DELICIOUS food. From Buttter Chicken Pizza to Shrimp Tacos and Coconut Curry Chicken. Top it off with deep fried Mars Bar. The staff and owners are amazing and very friendly. A definite place to visit.

Love this restaurant! They have some of the best pub food around. Love their amazing nachos, wings and especially deep fried pickles. The atmosphere is always family friendly and the staff are more than accommodating. I've met the owners several times as they integrate themselves into running a "Family" business. It makes you feel special that they come out to say hello and make sure everything is to your liking. Can't wait to visit again!

Relaxed place, but most importantly they have *really* delicious food from mussels to butter chicken (poutine). Also good view to two ice hockey rinks as well as a lot of sports on TV. The staff is friendly, but on one occasion forgot a few things. Still a recommendation!

The food here is delicious. The fish tacos are some of the best I have enjoyed. Usually restaurants in hockey rinks serve only fried freezer foods and I only eat there if I have to but this place is worth the trip for a great meal. The food is always fresh and the portions are huge. The kids meals are also a great value and my kids love the pasta.

The first time I've visited here (2019), I ordered a Captain Morgan drink and they told me that they ran out of the supply. However, oddly enough they refused to give me a refund despite spending over $40 bucks from what I recall, they also demand you to pay right away and happen to be mean and hostile towards customers. Don't go here unless you wanna get ripped off

Shout out to Lynn Shephard, if you are going comment on a review; being besties with the owner does not make your review credible. Second, know the back story before making assumptions and slanderous accusations. Food came out cold and when I complained, was banned from restaurant. Was accused by owner of false allegations. Servers do their best and are friendly. Owners are rude and disrespectful of customers.

Wow - the food is incredible! Since coming under new ownership, every dish I have tried at Simcoe House has been an absolute hit. Great portion sizes, packed with flavour. The white wine and garlic cream mussels are a must-try (and only $8 on Mondays!) and the butter chicken is heavenly. And don’t even get me started on the fish tacos! Service is slow, but the food is worth the wait.

We’ve been coming to SH since the beginning when it was Shagwells. This place gives you the experience of being in your buddy’s basement. So comfortable and inviting. We watch our Son’s and Daughter’s practices and games right through the massive glass viewing area to the two pads. The food is dynamite had the *Butter Chicken* last night. ... the beer selection is excellent, the wait staff is always friendly and nice. I’ve been to this place with people from over Durham Region and they always say the same thing.... We’ll be back!!!

Was at a fundraiser on Sat. Feb. 4th. Experience was Horrible!!! staff was so uppity! Wouldn't serve us. Refused to allow us to order from menu. they said, you're getting food. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks, no table service. will never go there again. You can't expect the people running the fundraiser to do the work for the guests. Disaster manager service as well. Avoid at all costs.

Go there on a weekly basis for a motorcycle group bike night. Always pleased with the great food and service. Had several items from the menu and have no complaints. Reasonable prices and quantities.

My husband I went to this restaurant last week for the first time, the food was sooo good. And the service was amazing and fast. Actually the chef came out and asked us about the food and if we have any concerns. I would definitely go back there often.

Our family has enjoyed countless, delicious meals at Simcoe House Ales & Grill. The owners bring the true meaning of 'Family Owned' to this restaurant, as we are always welcomed by friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Raj is a master in the kitchen, offering a variety of foods from pub style wings to authentic butter chicken. We've held a variety of events at this restaurant, from team meals to large pub-night fundraisers, and Simcoe House Ales & Grill has always been extremely supportive, making the events an ease to organize and extremely successful. You need to try this little gem of a restaurant!

This is in response to the previous post from Janey who was banned from the restaurant. I was there last night and I don't blame the owner one bit for asking them to leave and never come back. They were drunk, rude, beligerant and swearing in a family restaurant environment with children present. I would have done the same and don't blame them. The owners have been excellent and friendly with us every time we go. We always feel appreciated here. Feel sorry that they had to deal with that type of customer.
