Very unprofessional with communication, as a new small business I would not be using swear words through a fb messenger app. I also would not be confirming orders through that app and blame the customer for your expense on day care. Offered to still pay for the one item for the inconvenience because I did not see your msgs. I see from reviews that this has happened before. I was willing to try it out again and pay for the one meal I missed however, the negative vibe and rudeness i will not. Also after messaging over a computer screen they decide to block.

Tried Portobello Road for the first time tonight...AMAZING! I had the sweet potato and chickpea buddha bowl, but purchased more meals for tomorrow. Can't wait to try those ones! Lindsay was super helpful and friendly. I highly recommend you try it for yourself!

Freakin' fantastic!! Everytime I've ordered and gone to their shop has been an amazing experience, they're so kind and the food is delicious! I tried the peanut stew and muffins for the first time today and my god they were both amazing. The sea moss smoothies are always fantastic as well!

I first saw this business appear on my Instagram and I was instantly intrigued. Recently I started to be more food conscious and explore plant based & vegan meals, and luckily The Portobello Road gives me that great option to explore meals and open my palette up to new experiences in the plant based world. Placing orders & payments are fairly simple and easy, and It’s always been a quick process for me, with no complications. The pickup process is also just as simple and easy, and we’re always met with great service and pleasantries. I’ve always been completely satisfied with my meals and my fiancé quite enjoys the experience of exploring different plant based meals as well! It’s a fantastic place to get your conscious meals and that homemade food feeling as well. Nothing but a great experience thus far, and I can’t wait to continue to try new meals!

Please be aware AND beware if you have food allergies/sensitivities I've been ordering from Portabello Road since it was Lindsay's vegan and for the most part I have really enjoying the meals. I placed on ordered on Sat April 24 for pickup Tues 27 and Fri 30. I included my food allergies/sensitivities with my order. (Tues April 27) In the Buffalo tofu salad there was corn, which was an item I asked to be excluded.There was also the core from the Romain lettuce. Then in the Dill Pickle soup there was two objects, not sure what they are. It appeared to be a string, maybe and a shaving of wood or a rice husk. But there was no rice in the soup so these are still unknown objects. I fully understand stuff happens so instead of reaching out and/or cancelling my next order, I decided I'd wait to mention it when I picked up my meals (Fri Apr 30). (Apr 30) I went to pickup my order and mentioned my situation. The response was that the salad was made seperatly and specifically for me. Then I mentioned the core and that possibly quality control or attention to detail were missed. There wasn't really a response so then shared the unknown objects from the soup. They said it could have been a pickle stem and that they use spices. But they were not really sure, they didn't ask to see pictures or anything and there was zero acknowledgement. I paid for the food I was getting although I wasn't feeling great about how they handled this situation. I got home only to find that the meals I ordered were NOT what I received. Again, I make an exception for THEM because mistakes happen. I reached out and although they apologized for recording my order as item 8 and I ordered item 7. Then went on to say said that the "Caesar dressing has pepper anyhow." Black pepper is an item I'm allergic to and included that when I ordered on the Sat Apr 24. Why am I finding this out after the fact and now that they've given my the wrong meals? The lasagna that I thought was a loaf.. was made specially for me because I'm allergic to mushroom but mushrooms wasn't listed in the menu. Otherwise I wouldn't have ordered the lasagna. After the salad experience and no information or assurances they take food handling and allergies seriously, I don't trust it. They sent me an email transfer for the three items I received that I didn't order and then blocking me on instagram. I'm not saying don't eat here. I'm suggesting you're VERY aware if you have allergies/sensitivitues and customer service is completely lacking when they make mistakes. Also, please be sure to check the lids of the plastic containers and glass jars. I've had them not be on fully or tight and have had them spill in my vehicle more than once.

My sister-in-law brought lasagna and potato salad to our wedding this weekend and it was amazing! Both dishes were so flavourful and the potato salad is so creamy and delicious. Everyone loved them - vegans and non-vegans included! Thankfully there was leftovers for us to take home ????

So happy for the opening of The Portobello Road gluten-free whole food plant based takeout in Oshawa! So far I’ve tried 2 different meals and fresh juice and all were wholesome, delicious, attractively displayed, with generous portions. They offer a great variety of meals, freshly pressed juices, smoothies, and gluten-free desserts. Their ordering system and pickup was smooth. Can’t wait to try them all!

I can't say enough good things about Portobello Road and the owner, Lindsay! I have yet to eat something I wouldnt order again! The portions are large, fairly priced and as a whole, so thoughtfully made hence the reason everything tastes amazing! The ordering process is very straightforward and Lindsay has always been available to answer any questions. I have been and will continue to order weekly to see what she comes up with next!

Our family has been coming here now for well over a month and there is no place I would rather have my meals prepped. The food is incredible, I have never had any issues with anything. They have the best everything, ESPECIALLY meals and juices! I've never had anybody be able to change my taste buds with foods I never liked before, like this place!!!! If I could give them 20 stars I would. I know a TON of people who come here/have been here in the past and every single one of them have nothing bad to say. 100000% recommend!!! We are counting down the days to that pizza trailer opens!!!! Thank you for amazingness ????

Excellent plant-based food. Everything is fresh, flavourful, and creative! We have yet to have a meal we didn't love. This place is a wonderful addition to downtown Oshawa, and is a true gem- even non-vegans would enjoy this place! We were hooked from the first time we ordered. The inside of the restaurant is small, but very clean and welcoming, and the owners are super friendly. They are doing a great job of offering healthy meals on the go. Check them out :)

Excellent plant-based meals! When they were operating out of their home (while waiting for the restaurant to be ready) they were offering an amazing variety of meals every week. I followed (and ordered) for five weeks straight without seeing a single option repeated. When I pick up the meals they are FRESH. And delicious. I highly recommend Portobello Road!

Every time I’ve ordered from Portobello Road, I plan on leaving half of my meal for leftovers the next day. But if you’ve ever had a meal from Portobello Road, you’ll know that it’s virtually impossible because their food is SO GOOD that I can’t help but eat the entire thing. And the best part? I've been ordering from Portobello Road on a regular basis since 2019, when they operated out of their home. I love the variety of delicious food that include soups, smoothies, salads, main courses, juices and desserts. They even do full holidays meals at Christmas, which I took advantage of. The ordering process is easy, as is the payment (several options available) and pickup. All YOU have to do is remember to pick up your order (they'll even send you a friendly reminder). Easy peasy. I love supporting this small, incredibly friendly, family run business and will continue to do so, even though they moved further east and I moved further west. It's worth it!

EDIT: As you can see in the owner response she refuses to acknowledge it was an honest mistake and since I never saw her emails I never sent her a confirmation to confirm the order and pick up time. Horrible experience with their ordering process. I sent them an email through their website only for their email to go straight to my junk folder which I didn't receive or see a notification for. Lindsay sent 2 emails one asking me confirm the order and time to pick up and one to follow up to say the order is ready. I didn't see both emails until later that night. As soon as I did I contacted Lindsay right away to correct the situation I asked to come and pick up early the next morning again apologizing multiple times that I didn't receive her emails and only saw them when I was clearing out my inbox/junk emails for the day. Her response was she would have to throw out my order because they weren't in the next day and pretty much ignoring the fact that it was an honest mistake. Offering no solutions. In the future have your customers confirm their order so you know that they received your email you should always ask for a phone number to contact them incase situations like this arise. Because of how the situation was handled I will not be ordering from this business again. I order weekly vegan meals for my family and was looking to try different places due to the pandemic and supporting small businesses but her responses after the fact left a bad taste in my mouth.
