We were here last night for a bday dinner and I can't say enough about this place, it was AMAZING!! Honestly the food was incredible, BEST restaurant in Durham. Met the owner, very nice man and I could tell he was very respected by his staff. Everyone should be supporting local businesses like this one. We will be back but with a MUCH bigger group next time! Sadly the minute we walked in the door l knew I made a mistake. Not the Fazio's of days gone by. Roast beef was rare instead of medium well, potatoes tasted like something from a premixed boiled bag, cutlery from the Dollar store. For our 15th wedding anniversary l can honestly say l made a huge mistake.

Had an excellent dine-in experience in midst of covid-19 pandemic. The ambience was just perfect for an Italian restaurant. While I was taking a bite into my creamy, delicious and cheesy ravioli; I was able to enjoy the classical Italian music in the background. The waitress who served us was really nice and all staffs seemed to be following covid-19 procedures. Thank you for your service the Legend of Fazio’s! The name honestly keeps up to the expectations.

We drove all the way from Toronto downtown to this place and it was worth it! But why did we travel all the way to Oshawa to eat, well we had more than one reason to celebrate and a celebration without eating out at a restaurant is incomplete! L of F had it all organised to stay compliant with the pandemic guidelines! They were accepting only upto 10 guests in any given time slot and each table has a 1.5 hours slot! About the food, it was fantastic! we decided to taste the soup of the day and it was an ultimate delight! The richness, creaminess of the tomato soup with fresh basil..oh so delicious! Later we did notice they have basil pots lined up on the window sils ????For mains we ordered Chicken with pesto and salmon! It was served with a good portion of long grained rice and sautéed beans! My husband loved the pesto sauce, he infact asked for some extra and my salmon was rightly cooked just the way I had asked for! There is no doubt we will be visiting the restaurant again!

Enjoyed the lobster and steak Mother's Day offering. The starter of crab cakes were amazing, followed by the steak and lobster with garlic mash and asparagus were excellent and to complete the meal the cheese cake didn't disappoint either. So all courses were fully enjoyed - well done.

I have known Nick and Tino The original owners of Fazio‘s for over 25 years and it’s extremely unfortunate that they allowed this restaurant to use their name because the quality is extremely subpar and the name gives confidence to previous customers who expect good quality food That is not the case. It’s very unfortunate because I love this restaurant and I really hoped that the new owners would live up to the name that Tino and Nick built. I hate to say anything negative especially during these difficult times for most restaurants but when you spend your hard earned money and you get subpar product I believe I need to share it with others and Hopefully the the new owner with address the problems in his kitchen.

Everyone needs to check out Legend Of Fazios on Simcoe Street in Oshawa. The freshest and tastiest food. The staff and Thas (owner) go above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. Everything is fresh, he only has a small freezer just for ice cream, nothing else is frozen. Save room for desert - trust me!

For a date night we needed something special. Local. Delicious. Legends of Fazio was perfect. Kristen was our lovely and friendly server, efficient and knowledgeable she confirmed our dining choices and promptly brought wine. She has a sweet personality with such a charming demeanour that put us at ease immediately. The menu is on the smaller side, but I cannot express enough how delicious the menu items are! Starters were calamari and fried cauliflower, both fresh, made in house with savoury dips the cauliflower was the best we had ever had! The calamari was soft, lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. Mains were Rigatoni with meat sauce, salmon with rice and perfectly cooked green beans The pasta sauce was so flavourful and tasty. Obviously made in house as the tomatoes tasted slow roasted. My husband raved over the salmon, perfectly cooked to a creamy medium and topped with an incredible dill/tarragon sauce that I had to taste. Wow! We paired our meal with an Australian Shiraz from the well balanced wine list. Legend of Fazios did not disappoint! We left feeling so satisfied, impressed and lucky we found this place. We will be back!!

It's a good place to eat. We had a pleasant experience for a party of 16, they had a separate room for us. Prices are reasonable and the attention received from the waiters has appreciated. We were even greated by the owner.

This was the first time we have been to this restaurant and the service and the food was fantastic, also the price was really good too . The waitress was amazing and very nice . The inside of the restaurant is so nice I give it a 10/10 I also enjoyed the music . Only thing is I wish there was better parking but I’m still giving it a 5 star because the both of us really enjoyed everything. If you have not been to this restaurant get off your couch and go you will not regret it !

I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! From the initial reservation to the everything. In between. The staff is more than 5star as is the food and ambiance. I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. From the appetizers to the desert, nothing disappointed!! We had my daughters baptism there and family from Richmond hill and toronto said they will be coming back, it’s that great!!

When I first visited I was a little worried, I have such a love for the original Fazio’s that I was scared this wouldn’t be as impressive. I was completely wrong. The food is incredible, and the service is fantastic. I definitely recommend dining here.

Me and my boyfriend were looking for a new place to try out last night and ended up here, and I'm very happy that we chose this place! Our server, Kristen was absolutely amazing, so nice and bubbly!! The atmosphere was also very nice. If you go, you have to try the steak and add on the garlic mushrooms, it was amazing! Will definitely be returning :)

Beautiful decor . The food was delicious and fresh. The staff are very friendly. Our waitress Sarah went above and beyond to accomodate us. The menu has something for everyone. The owner was very nice he came over and introduced himself. He explained the hard work he put into the ambiance and decor himself. Nothing is frozen or microwaved. The restaurant is a beautiful and much needed edition to the downtown core.

We had booked reservations easily through OpenTable and were greeted quick and sent to our table. It was a bit busy for dinner so it took a little bit of time for us to get menus and our meals ordered but we were not in a rush so it wasn’t too bad. Covid protocol are in effect and no problems doing them. We ordered two appetizers which seemed to have been ordered by almost every table.. deep fried cauliflower and calamari. The sauces that came with it made it taste even better. The batter was light and crispy and cauliflower and calamari were cooked right! The real stunner was the bread they brought out was simply one of the best bread offerings we’ve ever had. The bread I think was a ciabatta bread.. crispy outside and soft and chewy inside… served with whipped butter it made my kids want more! We ordered a Legend Burger, Lamb Shank, Seafood Linguine, Top Steak and a NY Striploin steak. Interestingly, the top steak was more tender than my NY striploin and we both ordered medium rare. Regardless, the flavour was good and the fries, mashed potatoes and green beans that accompanied our dishes tasted great. Great portion and felt there was value to what was ordered. The servers were very polite and kind. They made us feel welcome and enjoyed conversing with them. Overall, it was our first time here and looking forward to spending more special occasions there too. Try it out!

First time here. Visited the original Fazio's many times....it was almost always great. The new place also good. Caesar salad was excellent and huge, good thing we shared. My wife had steak and lobster and was very happy with it. I went in thinking steak and got talked into Prime Rib....it was just OK and not helped by horseradish being pretty flat. Probably would have been happier with steak. Staff all very pleasant but our waiter was either in expereinced, or not very good. Nice enough, but given the current 10people restrictions he was on the slower side and made a number of mistakes. Wine, salad, 2 entrees, extra side, coffee and dessert and the bill was under $100....so, very reasonably priced. We will go back, but no huge rush.

Four of us got the filet, two of us ordered medium. One was well done and the other was rare. One of the filets was is 3 pieces when it came to the table. The garlic mash was over whipped and had no garlic in it. When a concern was mentioned to the manager, he deflected and talked about his plans for the night instead. They also didn’t split the bills properly despite us asking for a 4 way split before ordering anything.

We were really hoping for a little "surprise and delight" and got "surprise with a little disappointment," from this newly re-opened former-legendary restaurant. If the new owner is going to recognize Tino of the original award winning Fazios,then he hasn't 'yet.' There were also a few other "not yet's" with our meal and service. Starting with a forgotten bread basket, moving on to a blue-rare steak that came up medium. The prime rib was medium-rare and tough to chew. The caesar salads with salmon were delicious. Dessert was less than stellar with a caky-no-coffee-tasting tiramisu and generously portioned store bought cheesecake. This restaurant appears to be still searching for a barista because neither the B52 nor cappuccino were truly recognizable in the form served. All that aside, the new owner did stop by the table and graciously accepted the honest feedback given. Since there was no consideration provided, I guess we'll wait a couple of years before going back...if the new Legend of Fazio lasts that long.

Visited for the first time on Saturday Nov. 28th for my boyfriend's birthday. We made a reservation ahead of time and were impressed with the COVID-19 precautions they were taking in the restaurant - we felt safe. I ordered the Prime Rib (my fav) and my boyfriend had the Steak and Lobster. We ordered the calamari and arancini balls for starters. All of the food was great!! The bread at the table is a really nice touch but would have been great to have olive oil and balsamic. Nice atmosphere and super friendly staff! Why I gave 4 starts is because there is some room for improvement. I know the restaurant is operating in unprecedented times, but I think these are some easy fixes. We waited about 10 minutes before being greeted. After being greeted, we weren't asked about our reservation (so why make one?). I think for a nice steakhouse, there should be attire standards - there were patrons in the restaurant wearing sweatpants and slippers. Comparing my experience to The Keg, they should ask if you've ever been to Fazio's before - its a great talking starter point and it allows you to cover the important details (like where the bathroom is). They should leave the drink menu on the table - I didn't order a second because I couldn't read what they offer and for how little the server comes to the table (due to COVID) it wasn't worth asking. Last fix that is not too easy (or cheap) is to replace the front door....we actually walked the length of the restaurant looking for the entrance because its not overly obvious. For a nice restaurant, the door should look a little nicer too and maybe have signage.

We tried this place for the first time and had it delivered to our workplace for lunch. To say we had the best experience is an understatement. The quality of the food was outstanding everything tasted phenomenal. The service was super friendly and very prompt. All the food arrived hot. Dont be discouraged to come here because it's in Oshawa, rather be excited to come and enjoy delicious fine dining Italian food for a wonderful price. Legend of Fazios is a beautiful resturaunt that is here to live on a legend. There is nothing but positive energy that surrounds this place. The staff are prompt and present amazing top customer service, they will go above and beyond at any moment. The menu has an array of food items with such large portions and at an affordable price that will not break the bank. What I enjoy is that the food is actually good. Many times you will go somewhere with great reviews and bad food. Not here at LOF. Things I would highly reccomend are the Caesar Salad, Calamari, Prime Rib Sandwhich, Italian Chicken Club, and the Filet! If you're ever looking for a gentle night out, or for a larger group event (as they have a private room), this is the place you want to be!

Had a fantastic experience. Went in and was served within a minute. Was greeted with friendly conversation and got our drink order placed which was no wait at all. The staff was great when it came to ensuring we were enjoying ourselves, keeping drinks topped up, and brought us bread as well which was a nice surprise as it wasn't expected. Bread was soft and served with oils to dip which was a nice thing to tide us over until our meals came. The soup of the day was potato leek which was lovely and made in house, hubby had the mussels which was an ENORMOUS serving was definitely unexpected with that portion size. We had our meals come within 20 minutes of ordering which was a reasonable time for sure- thr chicken parm was delicious and juicy I loved the cream sauce with it, it was lovely and not too heavy compared to places that serve it with a heavy marinara. My partner had the fillet which was cooked to his liking. The service was great, our server was attentive checking up and told us about the desserts which cheesecake is a weakness for me, it was delicious and is now made in house, its definitely a sweet treat for those looking for a nice place to go for lunch or dinner. Well done to the new owner and training of new staffing. Will be returning in future that's for sure especially with having a private room available as well and a family dinner coming up!

When me and my family arrived we were looking forward to a nice meal at a restaurant, since we haven't been to one since covid started. When we arrived the restaurant said they did not have all the food on the menu. No meatballs, and no caprese salad and some other thing I can't remember. Wow an Italian restaurant that doesn't have meatballs. When I ordered and received my fillet mignon it came with plastic on the meat and bacon there were also a small piece of fillet that my dad ate and noticed a huge piece plastic in the fillets mignon . It quickly turned me off the meal and the experience of this restaurant. They did take off the fillet mignon of the bill. That's all that was done , I asked if the owner and chef were aware there and they were. No one came and or apologised . In these times when restaurants are struggling with not many patrons how could this be over looked by the chef and they are not busy the owner or chef could of offered more in the way of just not charging for the plate . I will not come back mainly for the customer service of the chef and owner this was poorly handled and it shows why items in their menu are lacking as advertised. Waitress was great .

Excellent restaurant, wonderful staff, fantastic homemade style Italian food! We have been coming to the Legend of Fazio's for a couple of years now. The food has always been consistent and delicious! Our favorites are the Arancini, Bruschetta and Rigatoni (like grandma's), however, everything we have tried has been delicious. Ask for the spicy oil for drizzling over top of the Rigatoni, or dip some bread in it...yum! At an excellent price point, it is a real benefit to have this great Italian restaurant in the Durham region.

I have NEVER been disappointed, I have only ordered from skip the dishes and out of my area Legend of Fazios is by far the best restaurant to order from. Every single time my chicken from my chicken parm is still crispy and honestly the BEST chicken parm I have ever had, there cream sauce is AMAZING and savory, the whole dish is PERFECTION. Fazios arancini, prime rib sandwich with fries, and beet salad is also very yummy. To top of all the mouth watering food, after I had ordered Fazio’s off skip the dishes several times they sent me a gift card and told me to come dine in! I’m shocked such amazing customer service still exists, and after receiving that I can’t wait to bring my family out to such a welcoming, grateful and appetizing restaurant! I really liked everything about this place, a nice menu with lots of options. We opted for the special of prime rib and lobster ????.. which was really good other than it came out rare, not med rare which is not an issue for me but for the gf who I have just converted to a med rare steak girl.. it was a bit much. We split a Caesar to start which was amazing. Service was excellent, food was really good , we will be returning to try something else.

My wife and I tried Legend last night and were hooked. I got the Braised Lamb Shank with the Arnicini balls as an appetizer, my wife got the Prime Rib sandwich. The Lamb was done to perfection, the sauce was amazing and Arnicini balls were great. My wife loved the Prime Rib sandwich and tasted great. We will be back again!

Stopped in for a date night with my fiance. Started with bruschetta which was good. I had pasta which was ok, something you'd expect to find at a chain restaurant. She had the burger which was overcooked with a serious char and cold frozen fries. Service was impeccably slow for a restaurant with ten people in it. It took our waiter, who was nice enough, but either very inexperienced or somehow too busy to check on us at all, at least a half an hour to even bring us drinks. Our apps a half hour after that, and dinner and hour after apps. All in all, the dinner took us over two hours for mediocre uninspired food. Definitely not the Italian I was expecting. Restaurant had nice enough decor and ambience but blared music all night to the point where I could hardly hear our waiter who had his mask below his nose all night. Not to mention, the boisterous chef behind the bar talking to customers with no mask on at all. From the online reviews and recommendations from friends, I expected a much different dining experience. Suffice it to say, we will not be back.

I was brought here for my birthday didn't know what to expect new owners new chef but it was worth it our host was amazing the chef was amazing the food worth every penny right up to our entrees to the main meal to Desert each individual plate was amazing plated well look great tasted awesome drinks were great good wine list Graybar list beautiful inside again everyone was awesome will be definitely there for another casual dinner I tried the lamb all I can say is if you want to try something different try it tasted great

Went there with 3 friends on Friday because our "other" favourite Italian restaurant was full to capacity. Very glad we did. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Very glad we happened upon this cozy comfortable and very nicely done option for Italian cuisine in downtown Oshawa. We all had something different. The server & chef were happy to accommodate modifications and the food was fresh and tasty. The only comment might be to expand the menu just a little. We all decided upon departure, we would be back! ( I had personally found the original Fazio's no longer that legendary in the past few years & would not have gone there if they were still in business)

The place only had one other table occupied from what I could see. Server was friendly. But took a long time to get drinks, I found that a little strange seeing the place was empty. Food was OK, my bf ordered prime rib, was extremely over cooked, so sent it back and ordered something else. It was OK. Doubt that we will be back.

Ordered the Chicken Parm and the Legend Burger and absolutely loved it. The balsamic glaze on the burger is incredible, and the chicken Parm is massive, crispy deliciousness. Excited to order again and try some more things on the menu!

Great evening here last night. I went w a friend, spent $140 for 2 apps 2 entrees and about 10 drinks btwn us. Not bad. We had the tomato bisque, Caesar salad, prime rib w mushrooms added, Tagliatelle, and Peroni, a caesar, and a peach Bellini. Everything was great. Good portions, perfectly seasoned, great atmosphere, just wonderful. I will def go back, there were multiple other things on the menu I wanted to try. My ONLY criticism....the peach Bellini was a lot smaller than I'd hoped. Like just a few sips. But very tasty. 2 thumbs up.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced meal with food you will talked about for days and top notch service with a personal touch this is the place to go. It is much better than any other restaurant in the Durham Region and priced lower than most. Thanks for allowing us to share our parent's 50th anniversary with you!
