NOT Italian food. This place is a "Denny's" style joint. The "red sauce" is terrible. I've never tasted anything like it. Is it nutmeg I'm tasting? If you order anything that requires tomato sauce, you will get this stuff instead. Avoid!! If you must give this joint a try, get food with creamy sauce instead. I have been told by others that the red sauce has a funny taste as well. Meat choices are a joke. I ordered chicken cordon blue. I got a thin, breaded over cooked slab of chicken with that terrible red stuff and a massive amount of cheese on it. Did they get my order wrong? Or maybe they have no idea what chicken cordon blue is...lol. My husband ordered breaded pork we think......he didnt finish it. Our experience with the service was meh. The waitress was neither rude or friendly...she was just trying to get through her shift. The bill was way too much for the type of food we got. My neighbor and co worker raved about this place, so I dont understand why our experience was so bad.

Lots of variety, reasonably priced. Recommed a reservation on weekends during peak hours. Also have a takeout enterance, call head to avoid waiting. Entrees include a salad or soup to start and a side- great deal for chicken parmigiana. Chicken was lightly bread and juicy. However the meat sauce on the spaghetti tasted off; a bit too sweet for my liking.

I literally can not in good conscience even leave "one" star. We were *neglected* *treated as children"* .."bossed" around! given glares that could kill as I was trying to order (my server was giving me "dirty" looks... yes. U can't make this up ...I'd go so far as to say the waitstaff has absolutely no business being in this industry period. They were atrocious in their treatment of us. Got one horrifically made drink ...undrinkable. Our nice evening out turned into a nightmare. Whoever owns this place clearly doesn't care about service at any level. I made sure to warn about 700 people with this story and will continue to tell of this beyond miserable "restaurant" I don't feel it has the right to b called that a "RESTAURANT" RUDE! is the main and most serious serious problem here id say. Iv worked in the service industry for years I would have immediately fired all staff involved in this mess. Will never b returning neither will any of my friends or family.

Ordered curbside pickup and was asked if we would come in to pay so we said we could, yes. Had we known we would arrive and have to stand in line with others that hadn't even ordered yet and were standing inside to wait for their order when all we had to do is pay.....not a very efficient way to do business. Especially during these times. Our order was ready for 5:30 and we were unable to get in to pay until 6:00. Customers should be advised to give their credit card over the phone or if they aren't comfortable to do so, be advised of the wait to pay. Better yet online order capability to pay online at time of order, but only option is to call to order. Disappointed.

My mom and I always come here before we go see a show at Rama. Theo's is our absolute favourite place to eat! Everything we've ever eaten here is incredibly delicious, their Alfredo Al Forno is our favourite dish and the prices are great. HIGHLY recommended! :)

This is probably our favourite place to eat in and around Orillia. The food is amazing! Nice atmosphere and the service is incredible - such friendly staff. They are taking good safety precautions during COVID-19 and even have a nice outdoor seating area. We had a late dinner here a few days ago and realized just as we were finishing our meal that it was past their closing time on a Friday night. Despite this, the staff didn't rush us at all and were still super friendly. It was a stellar experience. Kudos to them!

When you try and order Delivery they say to give a creditcard number over the phone.. ummm why would I honestly give my number over a cell phone when the signal could be hijacked? When I pay over the phone at Roger's they have me key in the number for that reason... well Theo's you pushing a cashless society is complete bull and your new business model is what is wrong with the world and I hope you lose lots of business.. I was a customer for easy twenty years but now I wouldn't give you a dime.. this is actually a O star review.. bah bah goes the filthy sheep is all I heard when I called..

Excellent food but very poor service. It seems to me our server was having a bad day, but as we were celebrating my daughters 21st Birthday, I was expecting something a bit more cheery! "Anna" did not accommodate our expectations at all. Friendly service would have easily netted her a $40 tip, instead we had great food with crappy service netting her NO tip.

Asked for them to take my covid information at the door while making a reservation on the phone, (they wanted info from the five different households which I obviously didn’t have) and received a call back from the manager cancelling the reservation as it was “rude” to ask of this. Do not recommend at ALL! Very unprofessional of them, and is against PHIPA laws of Ontario to ask someone for someone else personal health information actually!

If their takeout food is any sign of what to expect in the dining room you are in for a treat. Takeout door is located around the side of the building. Perfectly sized portions and a food that would have Gordon Ramsay asking for the recipe. Make sure to get the Caesar Salad or buy a container of the sauce to go. You'll thank me later.

Good food, great service. My family and I enjoyed our dinner out at Theo’s. My kids loved the baked tortellini and Theo’s fettuccine alfredo. A very nice restaurant located on Memorial Drive in Orillia. Primarily Italian dishes but they do offer several other entrees. The portion sizes are large so you won't be leaving hungry and they are more than happy to package up any leftovers. Excellent service and friendly staff round out this lovely restaurant.

Ordered the chicken tetrazzini. When it arrived it was SO covered in sauce it was more like soup. I tried to thicken it up with parmesan but it was still so runny. After waiting 40 minutes for a table, I didn't want to send it back. I was not impressed.

In an Italian eatery, I expected unlimited bread, and fresh grated parmesan cheese. Neither of which were available. I ordered chicken parmesan, with spaghetti, and a caesar salad. The salad dressing was house made, with maybe a bit too much anchovies, and was green (did they add pesto, i dont know). The chicken was over cooked and dry, the noodles were soft, and the Bolognese sauce was underflavoured. The only redeeming quality was how much cheese was on the chicken. The price was a little bit steep, considering how well my food was cooked. Chicken parmesan should be soft and flavorful, not hard and nearly tasteless.

The quality and taste of the food was perfect! They had the insight to put the exact garnishes given the taste of their dish which shows expertise in the craft and full awareness of their offerings. I had the burger and my girlfriend had the pasta. The pasta came with chili flakes on the side without us asking and it gave the perfect amount of kick to the pasta without overpowering its original taste. Great place that I highly recommend for anyone visiting or staying in Orillia!

Food never disappoints! It’s delicious. However, whenever I come to eat here the staff don’t look like they enjoy their time serving customers. Maybe it’s only been the times I’ve eaten here, the staff just don’t seem friendly. My recent visit was not great. Our server was very sarcastic, short and dismissive with my family. I felt the need to apologize if I needed to order something new, like a drink, because she seemed irritated and short with any questions or requests. Maybe she had a bad day.

I was so excited to go here because, as everyone in the area knows, the food is out-of-this-world good! But the service experience I had was so poor, I was really disappointed. I went with my 11 month old son and my 12 year old niece for her birthday. It was like 35° with the humidity that day, so of course we had water with us, but the server very abruptly asked me to take bottle off the table in case I had vodka in it.... Me with 2 kids, just drinking straight vodka from a water bottle?? Hummmm.... Then we ordered an appetizer, 2 salads and a kids meal and waited over 45 minutes for or food. I get it, it's certainly not a fast food joint, but to watch a table of 3 guys come in about a half hour after us and get 3 entrees served to them before us was upsetting. The worst was the server saw that I noticed her serving their food and looked at me and said "it's coming," again, very abruptly, without any acknowledgement that we've been waiting a long time for what we've ordered. By the time we got our food the 3 guys paid and left. Luckily I had lots of snacks to hold over my son who was very hungry. I did feel uncomfortable that I was giving him food from outside the establishment considering the water issue.... Overall the food was good but I don't think the server liked serving a couple kids. At least I hope she's not as unfriendly with her other customers.

A great place with great food. Their pizzas are fantastic, my boyfriend can't get enough of them. Gonna be a weekly venture now that he found the best pizza in town. Service is excellent.

We knew we would be in Orillia, and did a search of restaurants in the area. Since we were aware that it was going to be late, we had to choose restaurants that were open late and this fit the bill. The minute we walked in we were glad that we had chosen this place, sidestep having some coupons for other local restaurants. They have a classy but casual look with some contemporary undertones. I actually felt a little under-dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with a baseball cap on, but they didn't seem to mind. The first question we asked since there was only one other couple in the restaurant, was to make sure the kitchen was open, and they also did not appear upset about that either. We really enjoyed this place, and will definitely go back. There was a huge selection of lunches any one of which we would have ordered. Since it was late, we went with a chicken Parmesan split, with a Caesar salad as a side with the recommendation of the server. We went light, due to how late it was and not wanting something heavy like pasta. I did get a side order of extra fries, and it was huge and they were perfect. Crunchy but not overcooked, and consistently done. The sandwich was great, bun toasted well, and not over done with sauce so you could taste the chicken. Also, the side order of Caesar Salad was plentiful, and took up more than half of the plate. I can definitely see why this place gets the good reviews, and given the location and multiple medical facilities nearby they probably do very well at lunch. Service was good, and even when a server who walked by and wasn't ours notice my pop was empty, she took the initiative and noticed asking if I wanted a refill. Even after were were done eating, and ready to pay the bill our server offered me another drink. I normally like to visit the washroom, as this can often be an indicator of the kitchen, but given the rest of the experience do not think it would have been an issue. I highly recommend this place if you are in town, and worth the 20 minute drive from where we were staying.

Been several times over the years. Some really good, some ok. Most recently had a pizza, that was excellent. Right now during takeout only, I went to pick up at 4pm, when they open. I waited outside the front doors for 10 minutes, tried calling (no answer), and banged on the door a few times. We aren't from the area, and don't go often - so we had no idea that they have added a new take out only section at the side of the building that you can't see from the main road. A simple sign at the front would have been helpful to know I needed to go to the back.

First time visitor. All the staff were pretty friendly. Started off with some beverages and then ordered our food. Was asked if we wanted bread for the table so we said yes. We only got two slices which were cold with hard butter. Was disappointed with that. We ordered an appetizer which came shortly after which was a cheesy crab dip. That was pretty good. Both my girlfriend and I got pasta dishes. They were also good and decent sizes however we were both disappointed that they didn't come with a slice of garlic bread. We finished off with a apple crumble dessert. All sizes were pretty decent proportion. Over all dinner was good. Maybe cut back in the size and then also cut back on the price. Slightly on the expensive side.

Went there for a Birthday party for a friend. I want to say there was 12 of us. The staff was pleasant however we were a little crammed in at our table. I was on an end and had to eat from the corner so everyone else had arm room. The food portions were top notch and the food was tasty. I would highly recommend the salmon as it looked amazing and I was told it was delicious. I actually had the Meditarian Fusilli with both sausage and shrimp. They charge you $2 extra for just one or the other, however j just realized. They charged me $5.99 on top of that to add the other. Overall it was an ok experience. Just be careful if you want to add anything extra to your dish.

It really was not a positive experience. As soon we walked into the restaurant, we had just sat down, and before we even finished pulling our chairs in, and the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. When we asked her for a drink menu, and with a huge sigh, she said that she would get one, & asked us what we wanted to eat, to which we replied no, since we had just sat down. When we finally received our meals, it was just not edible. My roasted potatoes were not even closed to begin cooked through, to the point that I couldn't even insert the fork in it to cut up. So I asked the waitress if I could change my potatoes to the rice, because of the potatoes not being cooked. My shrimp was over cooked, and were like rubber and dried out. When the rice arrived, it to was still crunchy. My husband's Cesar Salad was very bland because the dressing was very Watery. We were in Orillia from out of town to visit my step son & his wife, and we were taking them for dinner, and they had suggested Theo's to eat, since they had been there before and that it was a good place to go, and they to were very disappointed with the whole experience, and they kept apologizing, and even called us again to apologize. I am hoping that this was just a one time bad day for Theo's and that this was a bad day, but sadly we will not be going back to Theo's ever again. Just a very disappointing experience!!!

Firstly, this place did not have the atmosphere of a restaurant. The hostess was rude and told us that we only had one hour to eat. Secondly, we waited extremely long for our food. The bread was stale, and the salads lacked of dressing. Three of the steaks that we ordered to be cooked well done sadly turned out to be rare. The chicken that my mother ordered had an intense pink color to it, meaning it was undercooked. I wanted to vomit from this experience. On top of it all the Waitress was unbelievably rude to us when we explained the issue. No management came out to apologize for this unacceptable service. If I could rate this so called restaurant zero stars, I would.

After one year of pandemic shutdowns, any restaurant still open, let alone busy with a full parking lot has obviously figured it out. I put my phone on auto redial and after 2 minutes I was through and ordered up. 20 minutes later my meal was ready before I was even there. And they were swamped! Thank you Theo's, we will be back.

They are only getting the extra second star because the food is actually great. Its understandable during a pandemic they will be busy, but they have done nothing to adapt to increase the load on the takeout service. Impossible to order takeout and they have no online ordering or skip the dishes. When you call, they don't have a hold or wait system, you just get line busy all the time.

Don't take the kids here unless they're under 10. The server carded my 11 year old. In turn we over paid for food that didn't get finished. One gets ice cream while the other sits there. Theo's is my favorite restaurant in Orillia. Very pretty atmosphere and very good food. Unfortunately I only come to the restaurant on special occasions and I order the same dish everytime I visit. Their Roasted Red Pepper Fusilli with sausage is the best! Always delicious and consistent in flavor and quantity. I absolutely love it and it is actually my favorite dish in the world! My husband has had the fish & chips and stir fry and he was happy with both. The fish and chips could have had a bigger piece of fish and more fries but very delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you visit Orillia. I cannot understand why they open at 4:00 on Saturdays and not earlier. Also they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Great restaurant!

IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES OR ARE A VEGETARIAN, BEWARE!!! I ordered a vegetarian meal that came with a salad (not a side salad, a salad on the same plate as the meal). I chose the Caesar. It came with bacon. I assumed a Caesar salad with a vegetarian meal would come without bacon. I told the server that there was bacon and she apologized and took my plate. The meal came back, I had a couple of bites of salad and found some more bacon...it looked like they just tried to pick the bacon off. I told the server again who apologized again and took my plate back again. She said she watched them make me a fresh salad. Whether my request for a vegetarian meal was a personal choice, a religious belief or because of a food sensitivity/allergy, it is concerning that they seemed so flippant about it. AND, I had to pay full price despite the two returns and having to start my meal while everyone else at my table was finishing theirs!

We were in town for a concert at Casino Rama. Happened to look this gem up on Google. What a find!!! Food was absolutely amazing. When we walked in the smell reminded us of the old "Mother's" restaurant back in the 80s. I had the Greek salad to start and wow! My husband had the "bang bang" shrimp to start and loved it. Then we ordered a pizza to share, and it was huge. We both ate and took the leftovers home to our 2 young men at home. The Theo special was what we ordered. OMG!!! Sooooo good!!! It was very busy. Make sure you make reservations. Service was very pleasant, efficient, timely, and knowledgeable! Definitely will return.

We've been regulars at Theos for the past couple of years. As of today, WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I called ahead to place my order for pickup, previous orders have been taken over the phone to include payment and curbside option, that was not the case this time so figured in these ever changing times they are doing it differently now... great. I was told 20-25 mins for my order. I waited in my vehicle until it was 25 minutes, walked in to pay for my order, the employee asked my name, grabbed my order, punched in the total on debit machine, slid the machine through the 6ft high plexiglass window and then states i need to have a mask on. I explained, that I do have an exemption and the response was it doesn't matter. Well, it does matter to me that I get treated as a human. She then states that they offer curbside option, yet I was already standing in front of her and that was not given over the phone at the time of placing my order. She was wearing a mask, standing behind a giant plastic wall. It is a basic human right in this province that mask exemptions MUST be honored and from a company standpoint, customers should be respected. Discrimination because of a medical condition is no different than segregation. If I can not be welcomed into a facility where I am treated as a human, I will never go there again. I believe the owners and staff should be enrolled in an educational course to inform them on human rights, and exemptions. When this is all over, and people are no longer being forced to cover their faces, or be shunned I truly hope their choices during these times reflect on their on how the business will be treated after this is over. You have lost a customer for life. In a time where restaurants are struggling to stay alive, education on rights would go a long way.

ill start by saying pizza was good to bad they didn't cut it. it might have to do with the fact my sister didn't wear a mask on pick up. The woman and male were very rude. exemptions are allowed. couldn't even get a your welcome when i said thank you. my sister was very upset about how she was treated. id say yes to the pizza but not worth the rudeness. to the point i hope she sues the restaurant and the female employee. cant discriminate because she has a medical disability.

The food is good but the wait staff is what makes or breaks a restaurant in my opinion. The staff here were either very hostile or looked like they hated their lives and didn’t want to be there. There was one waitress that was VERY hostile towards customers, just the tone of her voice and facial expression. It wasn’t just our table she was like that too either. I watched as she served another table and she was just as hostile and rude if not worse. Thinking maybe theos should fire all staff and do a complete re hiring process and get people who actually want to be there.

Theo's has great food. It's hard to get an order in these days though. Perhaps an online ordering system would be more efficient. I tried three weeks in a row to call an order in and got a busy signal over and over. Finally got through and of coarse it was delicious and the staff is so friendly!!!

Beautiful, classy decor. Service was excellent. Everyone was polite, friendly and very professional. Food was quite good, however the mint sauce that comes with the lamb was not as expected. I was disappointed to see such a wonderfully put together lamb dish served with a green jello rather than a traditional mint sauce. All in all a very positive experience and I would happily return.

One of the worst meals I had ever had. I could go on and on about our experience however its not even worth wasting my time anymore. The management and owner wont address our issue as we given them plenty of time too. Keep qn eye on their pork souvlaki wasn't cooked as well as their potatoes.

Amazing food! The crab dip was phenomenal, I highly recommend it. The server was very polite, she had to go on break so she had a replacement serve us our food who also followed up regularly. The portions were hearty, the vibe was nice. I would definitely go back again. I had more than enough leftovers too!!

Theo's food has always been one of our favs....however, after tonight's take out from Theo's we have decided to NEVER order another pizza from them again ????..... We liked their vegetarian pizza....the first bite in was not good....second bite confirmed that it was not our imagination....it had absolutely NO flavour what so ever and very soggy! Called Theos to let them know that it was not good....the "acting manager" had another pizza made and sent it to our home....of course we also had to return what we didnt eat from the first pizza ....the second one was just as bad as the first....very disappointed..... Sad to learn that one of our favorite restraunts has lowered their standards.....we should have ordered from Pizza Pizza....at least there would have been some flavour.

The fellow on the check-in at the BW Couchiching in Orillia suggested that we might have good fishnchips here, and one of us did just that. The fish was tasty and the batter was not at all greasy, and the chips were very good. They do their own tartar sauce and as a bonus the 'slaw was creamy without being sweetened. It was crisp and the right finish for fish and chips! The rest of the party had pizza. The Theo's Combination and it was delish. Lots of flavor, nice crust, just a really great sharing pizza, the large gave us 8 or 9 pieces of hot and savory, chewy cheesy pizza. The restaurant was full at 5:30 on a Saturday, but the bar had room for us and a few more. Reservations are not required but are suggested. The service was friendly and the food was served in a timely fashion. A nice find and a good recommendation by Paul on the desk at the Best Western.

Ordered two steaks, mushroom caps, and salads for my wife’s birthday diner. Was supposed to be a romantic dinner at home. When we unpacked the food there was a dead fly in the salad. Returned to Theos with all the food to get a refund, and I was told by the manager that he would not refund my money. I left angry, hungry, and out $130. Ruined my wife’s birthday dinner. We visited Theo’s Eatery on Memorial Avenue in Orillia last evening. What a wonderful experience!! We ordered the New York striploin 10 oz steak. Perfection!! Comes with a salad, vegetables, choice of roasted potatoes, fries, rice or spaghetti and sauce. The best restaurant meal we have had in some time. Service was absolutely excellent. We wish we lived closer so we could visit Theo’s more often. Strongly recommended. Always busy.

Portion sizer were so frekin huge!! Definitely good sizes if you are hungry. No one was able to finish their dishes. The food itself was good, nothing really stood out for me in terms of uniqueness. Their Alfredo is really good and we also got the chicken stir-fry and chicken tantrini (spelt that wrong) . All were good, but nothing spectacular.

I have felt sick for 27 hours after eating here. I don't know if it's cause or effect, whether I am sick because I ate here but I do hope management will have a look at its food preparation procedures and make sure that their guests are healthy and happy. If I had to guess, I'd say I'm 80% sure that the way I feel is the result of the food. The Mediterranean fusilli, the olives tasted off, the cheese tasted off... Overall just disappointed and not feeling well.

In response to some of the negative reviews....especially the last one from Melissa McCron ...Theo's has been a mainstay for upscale casual dining in Orillia for many years. There are many other good restaurants in Orillia as well and they respect each other as they compete for our dining dollars. Theo's would not be in business if it were not a GREAT place to go for GREAT food and GREAT service. They also employ many long tenure staff who would not work there if it were not a GREAT place to work and they were not treated GREAT by ownership. It is a FAMILY business that has been successfully operating in Orillia for over 40 years! During this COVID-19 pandemic all restaurants have been forced to implement protocols for YOUR safety but also for the safety of employees and your fellow diners. Refusing to abide by these 'legally mandated' protocols makes you a difficult customer and more importantly puts the employees and your fellow diners at risk. Why do I say this? Because I am pretty sure some of the negative reviews are posted because you disagree with the safety protocols, see them as a nuisance and that you probably refused to abide by them. I have dined out a number of times in different cities since restaurants reopened and I do not question the safety protocols and do everything I can to follow them. As a diner it is my responsibility to keep myself, my fellow diners and most importantly the employees who are the front line workers safe. Don't be 'THAT CUSTOMER' that makes everyone's job more difficult and puts other people at risk. If you can't follow the protocols...get take out or don't dine at the establishment! And.....If that is you think twice before you post something negative just because you felt you were inconvenienced by having to wear a mask or disinfect your hands. If you want to have a very nice upscale casual dining experience go to THEO'S............it is GREAT!!!

Its not bad but not the best. If you order chicken Parm sandwich. You get World's Hardest bun with long piece of chicken and some slapped cheese. Typically a sandwich from Subway is better than this. But when you order a pizza they have pretty decent size pizza with good topping. Just check what will you get before you order

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would .. !! We have never had a bad meal here. Nice atmosphere, great servers, really really great food. It is a place for really tasty foods, great quality and pricing. Try the baked pasta dishes, all of them good. Well under $20 a plate have the house caesar salad , best dressing I've ever had and they sell it too. Souvlaki dinner, steak, pizzas...all great. Take your date, your family or your friends. Great place. Dont want to dine in? Great dedicated take out at the side if the restaurant.

As the waitress was taking our order she seemed hasty, wanting us to hurry up with our order but it was our first time here as we are visiting the area. Theo's is by far a hidden gem. The atmosphere is fantastic and the servers were top notch. The prices were reasonable, and gave a great sized portion. The kitchen did make one mistake on our pizza, but corrected it and gave us the extra pizza for free. Would highly recommend this family oriented eatery, and hope to return again.

Came here with a group of 9 for dinner on Saturday night. Our service was nice, attentive, and profressional. We started with apps but we didn't need to as the entree portions were huge, I think everyone walked away with leftovers. All the food was great though so I am not complaining about having seconds.

Food is good. Service is sub-par. Restaurant is almost impossible to get a hold of to place an order. They only seem to have a single phone line. No online ordering and no additional phone lines. You’d think in 2021 they would update their system, especially being in a pandemic. Called 83 times before I finally gave up.

Had a 70th birthday celebration with friends there and our whole party throughly enjoyed the various meals and desserts we ordered. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. I have been several times now and will return.

Always fantastic. Curbside takeout experience was great! Best Greek salad Abba we love their pastas (red pepper fusilli with sausage, chicken tetrazzini, both so good!). Of course, v we also love so many other dishes but these are the current faves.

Theos has become a landmark in Orillia after years of brings reliable place for a nice intimate meal for the family. I have been here numerous times and although the food has yet to disappoint me, the service generally leaves me wanting. It would be nice to not have to look for my server when I need something without having to wave or flag someone down. The food is consistently good, my favorite appetizer being the signature spanokapita. The price range is moderate..expect two to spend around 40-50 to start.
