First of all, it is not beachside, at all. We ordered calamari and it arrived basically raw. Sent it back, then it arrived in small balls of deep fried batter. The rest of the meal was iffy at best. I would not recommend this restaurant and have no plans to return.

Great patio! Excellent service and fun vibe. The food was reasonably priced but it wasn't anything special. Ordered the Burken Burger, Fish n Chips and Calamari. The burger came with a beef patty and a piece of fried chicken with bacon.. it was decent but a little on the dry side. They ran out if halibut so they offered two pieces of haddock instead. The batter on the fish was really odd.. not your typical batter.. kind of spongy. The sweet potato fries were pretty good.. a lot better than the regular fries. The calamari was nice, not a large portion but it included some fried veg and tasted fresh. I would give the food here 3 stars but we enjoyed the patio and had fun so giving it a 4 overall

Worst service ever. We were 2 couples, the waitress never asked first how the bills were going to be split We received our food with no utensils, no napkins, and then desert with no spoon. We had to ask for all of the above. I asked for a blueberry tea, which was on the menu and she replied that they don’t have blueberry tea just regular tea and after she said that they don’t make specialty coffee during the summer. I told her that real customer service would be that she should check first before refusing, as blueberry tea consists of amaretto, grand mariner and tea and has nothing to do with blueberry. They eventually made one. Maybe the waitress was just having a bad day, but her service was terrible and even the manager agreed.

Great place by the water. My first visit since living up north, I'm not sure why I've never gone before. Maybe because it's always busy, which if I think about it, a good reason for me to have tried years ago. Anyway, go sit by the water, enjoy a cold beer and have a good meal. A little gem down by the lake. Best peppercorn burger in Orillia. I mean it's just perfect. Nice side of fries with it as well. Reasonable prices compared to other burger restaurants in the area that have mediocre rushed out food for more money. Friendly and courteous staff. What else can i say but this is our new to go place. Thanks for an amazing meal!

Passing through Orillia, part of the reason we chose this location was its "beach side" location. There is no real view of the water. From the patio we could only see the lodge next door. That aside, the drinks were cold and the food ordinary. The problem really was due to the extremely bad attitude of our server, Krista. My friends and I COULD NOT BELIEVE how badly the server treated my wife. Even servers at McDonalds treat clients better! Never again!

I know that it was Canada Day but unfortunately we had to wait 40 min more than 20 min over the time told to us even though they knew we had kids. Then, we got a normal table with tight sitting. No idea why we had to wait ??!! Then, we were told 1 HOUR FOR THE FOOD???!! If they had been frank from the beginning with the waiting time, we would have appreciate it. Left and went to Brewery Bay Pub. Instant sitting and food ordered straight away.

Sad to see the last few poor reviews. Luckily, we had quite the opposite experience. Impeccable service from beginning to end. We were in town visiting family and after a day at the beach went here for dinner. It was myself, another adult, a 5 year old and 11 month old. Upon, arrival we were told it would be about a 20 minute wait. We spoke with the hostess to see if we could possibly get in sooner as we had the baby with us. She said she would go inside and check. After about a 5 minute wait, she took us in and gave us a table. Our server was Randi, who provided friendly and prompt service. My 5 year old daughter has a tree nut allergy. Specifically to cashews and pistachios. I quickly noticed that on the menu there is one dish they serve that contains cashews. My daughters allergy is very sensitive and can have an anaphylactic reaction just from cross contamination itself. I informed Randi of the allergy and she advised the Manager would be out to speak with me. I was a bit worried at first. I thought I was going to be told that they can't avoid cross contamination or something of that sort. The Manager Jen came to our table and spoke with me in great detail about what dishes are prepared where, items that may be stored near the cashews in the kitchen and etc. She went through the children's menu with us and let us know which items my daughter would be fine to consume. I was absolutely content with her care and the information she had provided, but Jen actually went above and beyond for us. She explained that some of the cooks may have handled the cashews at some point throughout the day, so to be on the safe side, that she would prepare my daughters dish herself, as she has had no contact with cashews for the day . I truly appreciate that she did this for us. She understood the seriousness of my daughters allergy and handled everything with great care. She made us feel that she understood the importance and made us feel comfortable. It was fantastic, it actually made my daughter feel very special as opposed to making her feel like she's different in a negative way and that it's a nuisance to deal with her allergy. Thank you. All of the staff overall were great to deal with. Lastly, all of the food was delicious. We had a fabulous time. Definitely world class service. Whenever we are in town, we will always make sure to come back to the restaurant. I will come for the food, but stay for the service! Thank you again to everyone involved in making this experience a positive one for our family .You guys have a special place in this Momma's heart.

What a nice patio to sit and relax at in summer. Great food, very good layout, apps on special are an added bonus! The hot wings are not very hot but rest of food very tasty. Do not recommend their long island ice tea. It needs improvement but again, food is great.

We got the shrimp tacos, garlic bread and a few drinks. Highly recommend their Caesar as well as the unicorn shake(strawberry milkshake with amaretto, cotton candy and rock candy). Excellent service and well worth the trip.

I've been a few times; at night it's a fun bar you can dance at. A few group drinks/friends events but there's little space for groups to gather it seems. I've been with family during the day because it's the closest restaurant with a lake view - yet it's barely an easy viewing without craning your next ????. I once asked for a tea other than regular and they had no other options. I asked how their hot chocolate was, the server advised it was good so my mum and I ordered one each. It looked fancy, piled high with cream, but was actually watery and tasteless. I was mostly disappointed with the dishonesty of the server. The food is average. Cheesey mushrooms are yummy though.

The rating of 3.5 is likely bang on the money. There are somethings that could change for customers. The food was good. Not fantastic but good. When you charge 15 dollar for an entree it should fill the plate as well as when you advertise Cajun it means the whole dish not a light sprinkle on the 4 shrimp. I eat cajun because its ????. I was disappoint not in the taste but rather it was misleading. The food took forever to come. At that point I was done my ceaser and I barely drink. I almost said to the wife screw it lets go across the street. Just when I said that the food came. Also when someone orders a ceaser for 6 bucks a shot it always has the vegetables for all drinks ordered. That is one of the best parts. A ceaser is not a pickle, bar onion and an olive???. If it was they go on every drink not just one. The staff was good. The food was not as expected but good. Will I be back... Hmm not sure on that as there are tones of options for food in Orillia. If I had to do it again I likely just go to Brewery Bay. Honest!

There are no prices on the menu when when you ask the price they have to go look it up and come back snippy ,we were there about an hour and they asked us 15 times if we were done yet trying to take our food 6 of those were in the last 5 min. so we took the hint, won't be back. P/S it wasn't even busy.

It's not bad, but it's not great. I might have set my expectations too high but the food isn't something I would eat again for the price I paid for it. I got a burger on a waffle bun, which sounded really cool but something about the texture of the waffle was off. My waitress was also not the most pleasant I've had, she seemed pretty disappointed that I was only drinking water and she made sure that I knew it. However, the experience wasn't terrible. If I didn't live near the restaurant, the view of the lake would be fantastic to eat at. If you're local, I'd steer clear but tourists would find it a better experience than I did.

1-where is my vodka !? Me and my girl friend ordered blue lagoon and a caesar for drinks and both of them had no vodka at all ! 2- we ordered chicken wings and chicken quesadillas .. The chicken wings are meh ( the flavours weren't good ). For the quesadillas felt like frozen food, and the chicken was breaded and tasted bad.. 3- who gets cheap on putting vodka in drinks !! ( you got one simple job and ....) 4- they dropped a piece of the quesadillas and they made another tiny piece and finally brought it after such a long time 5- we paid 45 or a bit more for that bad food and drinks 6- where is my vodka ...!?!!!

I have been here twice. First time was a horrible experience. The food was way over cooked and the waitress didn't want to be there. The 2nd time was for a friends birthday and the food was decent however the server was overwhelmed and couldnt keep up to the drink refills.

I have been going to Studabakers for many years and after last night I will not be returning. Our waitress, Aaron, had the worst attitude and was so rude to us. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. We paid for our drinks and went directly to Wild Wing where we will now be going for our weekly wing date.

The staff are so friendly and hardworking. I have been a few times over the years and found the service and food to be ok. Recently I went back again and was surprised by the new look. The place looks great, and modern, the food was fantastic, the drinks were fun with great names, the staff was so kind and quick, and the whole atmosphere was just WOW. As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find places to eat out, however everyone was super accommodating and did not mind taking an extra moment to go over any questions I had. I am not sure if they recently did a revamp, however I have noticed an increase in food and staff quality in the last little while.

We went for my friends birthday for lunch. The bees were terrible so we went in the shade. The waitress that was not ours was much nicer than ours. Food was great. The rude waitress pointed my friends disability out. Not to mention saying rudely to me that theirs bee's at every table. I said is there an epi pen at every table too??? Overall experience for my girlfriend was unpleasant experience

Excellent bar with some cool drinks. This place is super popular with the locals and why not with the amount of bar food we have here and great prices for drinks. Not to mention a huge patio with a great view. The food is ok. Most of the menu comes from the fryer and I can only imagine the size of the freezer in the back. The burgers looked really good and the salads looked decent. Service was good for the most part. Ill stick to coming here for drinks and lighter fair.

It's decently priced and the wings were a decent size. Wing selection was poor but quality was better. A couple minor mix ups on the group orders but it was a large group and a busy night and the service was relatively fast and friendly. Seems a fine place with a warm atmosphere as long as you know what you're there for.

Very good wings on Thursdays for 79 cents and the patio has some very nice scenic views of the waterfront. The serving staff were very friendly and attentive with our large group of 15 people. Live music was excellent on the patio and a lot of good times had here. Would highly recommend.

Pretty cool place by the water. It was modern and clean. Good service even though the place was packed. We were all pleased with what we ordered. I had the Chicken waffle sandwich which was so tasty! Lots of choices on the menu. Best part was the bill...very inexpensive. All in for 4 people for meals including 1 big brownie desert, 3 alcohol drinks, pop and tip was $125. Definitely going back.

I came here for lunch with my mom. It was a beautiful day and there was a wait. The wait was managed very well, as the hostess was in touch with everyone giving us an idea of how long it would be. Very well handled! Staff were all wearing masks and cleaning the tables which is great. They had plexiglass between tables that couldn't be 6ft apart. They're definitely handling Covid restrictions quite well and I felt safe! We were both excited to order because everything sounded so good! The server said they're known for delicious burgers. So we got the Guacamole burger, and the Reuben, and split each dish. I will just be honest, we were super disappointed. The burger was truly nothing special and tasted quite bland. We realized they forgot to put guacamole..on the guacamole burger. It tasted better once the server brought the guac, but it was still pretty bland. The jalapenos were not cooked and added nothing, and I honestly couldn't taste any of the flavours listed in the menu. Whole thing was bland. Would definitely not recommend a burger. The Reuben was also disappointing. It's a go to item for both my mom and I, and this is one I definitely wouldn't get again. Very bland, and I couldn't taste any of the exciting flavours listed on the menu. I find that Reubens are either to die for, or they're not good, and this one was not good. To be clear, it wasn't gross or anything, but I wouldn't say it was anything better than "meh". I felt both the burger and Reuben were "meh", which is not what I was hoping for. I got onion rings as my side and they were delicious! Our server was very friendly and helpful, and all the staff seemed great. The atmosphere was quite nice and it was lovely being out on the patio overlooking the water. We probably had the best table on the patio and quite loved it. I think this would be a really nice place to come for a couple of drinks, but I won't be returning for a meal as I was genuinely excited about their menu and was very disappointed in how bland it all was. I wouldn't recommend for a meal, but would suggest this place for a drink.

Shinanigans! Disappointed with the Monday half price special. We ordered 4 apps off their half price menu and we're suprised at the bill to see that 2 of the 4 apps we're billed at full price. We asked the rest of the party at our table, and they too we're billed full price for some of their apps. We asked our waitress why we were charged full price, and she told us that after your first app the rest are full price. We asked why there is no mention of this rule on the menu, and we were told that they are in the process of updating the menu. In total our whole table ended up paying 90 plus dollars due to this hidden rule.

Used to eat here often because of location and despite the food quality and busy atmosphere- my father forgot his hat one time and we came back half an hour later (as we came by boat) and they told us after 20 minutes the staff gets first dibs on it and someone already took it! UNBELIEVABLE. Will never be back here, unfortunate to have this as the only “waterfront” restaurant in our home town. There is a lot of competition to pull stuff like this on loyal customers.

Not your everyday pub food! Caters to kids and families until about 10pm. Wonderful healthy choices, as well as amazing not so healthy ones (best wings around with a huge variety of flavours.) Biggest outdoor patio with an amazing view of the lake. Just a short walk from the dock, and the unique downtown stores Orillia boasts. The staff are amazing, friendly and bend over backwards to accommodate medical needs, be it dietary or physical. The owner is very involved, and if there ever is an issue he usually will personally call, email, or reach out via social media to the customer the next day if he can.

WORST RESTAURANT EVER. All kitchen staff touch food without gloves, pick it up off floor and serve it, and the owner named Joe is rude to everyone. The only reason they serve free popcorn is to make their customers drink more alcohol and all employees touch and eat the popcorn right out of the machine. The kitchen and basement are extremely unsanitary with rats and cockroaches running around EVERYWHERE. The cutlery is reused without being washed and the owner discriminates against old and disabled people by not providing access for wheelchairs.

The lobster ceasar is impressive but not worth the $16. It's fun to get but the lobster tail was not great. The ceasar was very good though, so just order a regular one. The food was ok. Shrimp tacos were a little bland and the "bruschetta" is more of a tomato flatbread.

The app ( nachos) were brought out at the same time as one of the mains??? The second main showed up 10 minutes later. The bartender seemed very confused and shortly after he disappeared. He was replaced by a curly haired woman who showed absolutely no interest in us as she was talking nonstop to an obvious friend seated at the bar and ignoring everything else. She never asked about our food or drinks until we were done. Very disappointed as we’ve been there on past trips to the area and it was always great. We planned on being there pretty much nightly while in Orillia but now we will go elsewhere.

A great place to enjoy good food on the patio with friends while looking out over the lake. Edit, earlier this year Studabakers reopened after a fire and came back fully renovated and with a new menu. The great service is still there, but the interior is much more tasteful and modern. The new half priced appetizers are delicious and generous. The owners put a lot of time and thought into the revitalised restaurant, and it shows.

The food was great but we got seated by the bathrooms where we were bumped every2 minutes and did not enjoy the odour coming out of the men’s washroom while eating our meal. I would seriously consider removing this table that is about 3 feet from the bathroom doors. Drunk customers bumping you , and the smells are a big turn off to an otherwise great place to eat.

Went there with my family for dinner last night. It was a late dinner around 8. The staff greeting people were very friendly. But it ended there for us. We ordered water for the table and alcoholic drinks. Water was luke warm with no ice in glasses. We ordered appetizers for the table nachos and calamari. Apps came, looked great, nachos were okay, wouldn't order again. Not much for toppings and the calamari was delicious but wasnt worth the price for how little there was. Waitress never came back, no offer of utensils, side plates or napkins. When she came to take our order I had to ask for a kids menu twice. Dinner came it was okay but I wouldn't go again. This was our second time going here . The first time I had fish and chips. It was pretty good. Menu sounds great but unfortunately for us between the not great staff and the mediocre food there won't be any more trips here

Good food and friendly service. My wife and five year old son had dinner with my sister and her husband recently. The waitress was attentive and thoughtful enough to bring out my son's dinner with our appetizers without being asked. For five adults and a child our bill was very reasonable. We will definitely be back again.

Food was tasteless &,expensive for the portion sizes. Fish came with mayo, not tarter sauce like stated in the menu. calamari was very chew & came with ranch sauce, the sweet potato fries were not cooked & the coleslaw had no dressing. The waitresses forget about us, didnt bring us cutlery, napkins, or side plates. we ordered, ate & paid our bill within 45mins. This is NOT a beachside restaurant, its hidden in between 2 parking lots. We will never go back. Very disappointing

The worst service I have ever received. Asked for water 3 times that never came. Ordered an Oreo milkshake that had to be remade twice, and I was still charged for it. Located right beside the waterfront with a large outdoor patio gives great views of the lake. Great varied menu with enough choices to make everyone satisfied. Prices are maybe a bit higher than comparable restaurants but good food, large portions and friendly attentive servers more than compensate. Lots of Covid protocols in place to ensure customer safety. A good choice for a nice lunch or a casual evening out.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and decided to go to this location for dinner. We had a very nice server, whose name we did not catch because the chat quickly went to the topic of the cold weather. My wife ordered a coffee with cream and sweetener while we were looking at the menu. Our server, although very friendly, firstly brought lukewarm coffee that tasted old and without a spoon to stir it. Then realizing there wasn't spoon with the wrapped cutlery, she had to wait for him to come back to let him know. He very quickly brought her a spoon and darted away again. By this point, she noticed that what she was adding to her coffee was milk, and not the creamer she had requested. We had to wait for him to come back again and instead of offering her a fresh coffee as the first cup now had milk in it, only brought her some cream. So even with all these mistakes with one very simple cup of coffee, we were still positive. After looking at our menus and ordering our food, we noticed that the table was dirty and sticky under where the menus had been placed when we were seated. The table could not possibly have been washed after the last customers. And to confirm this, we saw our server use only his hands to "dust off" the crumbs and mess left behind by his customers at another table across from us. He scooped the crumbs into his hand, walked behind the bar, threw them I'm assuming, into a garbage can, wiped his hands together and then on his pants and came out to serve other customers without washing. It was at this point, my wife and I decided to walk out. Actions like these are unacceptable in the food industry.

Our most recent experience at Studabakers was a great one. Our food came quickly and tasted good. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The decor is nice. The pricing is on point with other similar establishments. The complimentary popcorn is a very nice touch.

First of all the food was decent but all the time we spent waiting was absolutely stupid. We where a group of 9 and we expected a small wait. When we arrived we were given a wait time of 30 minutes. We then spent over an hour standing in the corner and in the cold waiting for our table. We received no beverages or the popcorn they offered while waiting. After we finally got our table it was another good hour to hour and a half before the food had arrived after we ordered it. Beverage refills to 10 or more minutes to complete after asked. While we where waiting another group arrived, ordered and got their meal before we where anywhere near getting ours. The waits in that place where just far to long. If you where to go I would reccomend but ONLY if you go during a down time when their not busy.

We felt like fish and chips and reviews of Studebaker's came out great. We were not disappointed the very large portion of halibut and chips were delicious. They also provide a complimentary cup of fresh popcorn. Leslie our server always knew when to check on us. I can see why this place can get very busy. Enjoy their free wi_fi.

Went here on a Sunday night for dinner and it was packed. Long lineup to get to the patio but that means that they're taking COVID measures seriously. They have a variety of options on the menu and $8.99 for a kids meal is really good, especially when that comes with a dessert. Our server, Sarah, was very friendly as well. If definitely pop in here again the next time I'm in Orillia!

Great patio and all tables had umbrellas. Huge drink menu, something for everyone. Menu had alit of variet. I had the chicken tacos which were delicious and they do not skimp on the amount of filling and all the ingredients tasted super fresh! Great place to eat and service was really good too. Place was packed, had wing special, 10 cents off per wing, but need to buy a soda pop for $3 which negates the deal...LOL. Whiskey BBQ tiny wings were great. Staff and hostess excellent. Served in 30 minutes. Parked at Metro 1 hour parking so buy groceries after at 24 hour store.

For a Tuesday night I can’t believe how bad the service was here. It was not busy but waited 10 mins to finally get noticed. Our drinks and food took so long the table next to us that arrived later got their food before we did. We got our wings with no plates and no napkins. We had to go get them from another table. Getting a second pint took forever also. If the cameras are actually recording hopefully the owner can go back and watch how bad this restaurant is doing. Best part was the table that got their food before us sent it back. Do yourself a favour and go to brewery bay. There’s a reason they have been around the longest!

Studebakers Beach Side is in fact no where near a beach... There is a lake nearby but my definition of a beach includes sand and that's probably a 10 min walk away... If you want a view of the legion parking lot and the Fionn McCool's parking lot this is the patio for you. The drinks are OK and the food is just OK. The staff are not good and the managers are just OK... There are plenty of great places to eat and drink in Orillia this isn't in my top 50

Pretty good price for wings on tuesdays and Thursdays at just .59 each. I always find i get 3-4 wings free. Sauces are pretty good. Wings can be dry sometimes. Not a whole lot in beer selection and Pints cant always be served when they are busy due to lack of glassware

Great view of the lake from the patio and more importantly, the food here is quite good - everything I've eaten in 2 visits has been above average. The staff is also quite accommodating. I gave 4 stars because a) the wait time from arrival to eating both times was frustratingly slow - just shy of an hour on my last visit and b) while it appears someone invested a lot into making a nice space at some point, it is getting in need of some paint and a handyman.

Took a long cab from Washago to go here with some friends for my birthday. We were served one drink and then "Missy" the bartender said we were too intoxicated to have anymore and the bar threw us out. We then went to go to another bar and they took it one step further and called the bars down the strip to warn them not to let us in. We are all 27-30 years old - quite the mature crowd and was just looking for a fun night out. Waste of our money cabbing all the way there to be shut down by this immature staff member.
