My fiance and I were in town for a show this past weekend. I have Celiac Disease and did a lot of research on where to eat in Orillia that was Celiac friendly. I emailed the restaurant to inquire about their gluten free pizza and received a wonderful email from Jenna explaining how they make the pizza dough and the precautions they take to make sure there is no cross contamination. One of which being that they put the gluten free pizza dough on a dedicated pan to make sure no crumbs or flour from the "regular" pizza dough contaminates the gluten free. However, when we arrived and the waiter took our orders it was a different story. I informed our waiter, Bruce, that I have Celiac Disease and was a bit nervous to try the gluten free pizza, but that Jenna informed me of all the care they take to ensure it's safe. He looked at me like I was stupid, and told me that they do not use a pan and they place it right in the oven just like they do with the regular pizza. I asked him to check with the chef to be sure, because I was told otherwise. He spoke with the chef for a while and then came back and said "you're all good"...not really sure what that means. I was extremely disappointed that I was given false information and was made to feel extremely uncomfortable especially when dealing with something so serious. We were expecting so much more after that email from Jenna. We will never return here.

Attended for a lunch function. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They restaurant specializes in wood fired pizza. Great selection of choices of pizza. Only complaint would be the pizza wasn't cooked enough in the middle and I found it a little wet. I suspect there is a fine balance between overcooking the bottom/crust of the pizza and ensuring the middle is cooked just right. Prices are reasonable for the portions provided. Would go back.

I have to edit my review. I found out this restaurant is owned and managed the same way this city is. Family owned by the mayor daughter. If your out of town. Don’t eat here! They don’t want you here not ONE BIT! That simple. The pizza good but knowing they support a mayor that block access for out of town to access public areas and for our economy to grow....TRASh!

Overall, this place was nice, and I hesitate to say anything negative but I do feel there is some room for improvement as I feel it fell short in some areas. The price point of the pasta didn't match what was delivered. For the price they charged, I would have expect the pasta to be fresh and not the boiled box brand. It really was such a shame too because the flavour profile of the sauce was quite nice (I had the Pesto Penne). Fresh pasta would have completed this dish perfectly and made it a winner with me. The second thing that threw me off was when we ordered the 'foccia' bread. It wasn't foccia at all, rather a garlic and cheeze pizza so it kind of threw me off. The taste however was again nice, but put this flavour on real foccia bread then we'd be talking. The winner of the night was the actual pizza itself. It was cooked to perfection, excellent flavour profile, all natural ingredients, really it's the only place to get a proper wood fired pizza. These guys nailed it. Our server was super pleasant and very polite and answered all our questions since it was our first time trying this place. They managed to squeeze us in without a reservation (which we didn't know we needed) but we indeed appreciated their kindness for that. The patio is really special. It was away from the road, tucked between two buildings, and was decorated quite nicely. Oh and finally, you have to try the Espresso Margarita wow! It went down way too smoothly. Thanks for a pleasant dining experience.

The food was fantastic, well cooked, flavoured well, and good portions. The interior is very tasteful, and comfortable to relax in. It felt like going to your families home for dinner. Very lovely restaurant. The food was fresh and the service was nothing short of amazing. It was very busy with a big party which doesn't seem to be the norm. We had a little hiccup and we were served bad mussels but they admitted their mistake, apologized, and corrected the wrong happily. To me, that made the experience much better. Our server was absolutely amazing through the whole thing, and we really appreciated her professionalism. The rest of our food was spectacular. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice date/night out. Oh, and lots of amazing drink options as well!

We were in for dinner tonight and will most definitely be back! Great ambiance and a great group of servers. My one and only complaint was the chili oil on my pizza.....I don't eat spicy (weird stomach ????) and had I known beforehand, I would have asked for it to be left off of the pizza. But it was, overall, a very relaxing dinner. We'll be back for SURE!

Absolutely love this place. Staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu (one in our party has a number of allergies and our waitress wasn't even fazed). I had the "Smocchi Gnocchi" for main and "Donut Pizza" for dessert. Both were delicious. 10/10 would definitely recommend, and if I'm ever back in the area I'll be returning for sure.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. We stopped in for afternoon drinks and after checking out some of the food passing by our table decided to come back for supper. We had a delicious wild mushroom reduction on crostini, yummy arancini and shared a wood fired pizza. Finished our meal with a light and dreamy tiramisu. Our waiter was super and a great meal. Any time I am visiting Orillia I make sure I stop at Rustica for a meal or even just a glass of vino! The atmosphere is incredible and the staff are even better. The owner always makes her rounds to ensure people are enjoying their meal, while also helping the hard working staff behind the scenes. It is a perfect spot to bring your family or steamy date. I can’t say enough good things about this place and the people that make it what it is.

5 mins to acknowledge the table. 10 mins to bring a Pepsi. 10 more mins after requesting straws when we had to get up to get our own. After 45 mins food came. Ordered brunch. We could not order off tge whole menu prominently displayed on the window. Could not accomodate a salad. So. Poached eggs. Six to table. That was the heart of the meal. 45 mins.. ketchup served in a glass dish with a spoon that did not fit inside. Food was delicious but cold. Server appologies saying they were busy. Weren't overly busy but hey if you can't handle what you have limit your numbers.. also for being so busy the two servers on were standing beside the inside bar notably out of view of the "busy" outdoor patio in view of this experience. Well travelled. Love eating out. Been here a year ago and great. This was simply one of the worst restaurant experiences in lifetime.

Rustica is Orillia’s best pizza by far. Tonight we indulged with Pizza, Cannelloni and an Arugula salad and all three were totally delicious. Whether eating in in normal times or getting well packaged take out now, the food and service with a smile is awesome. Definitely one of my favourite places of all time!

We met here with a large group on a Thursday night. They were prepared with staff enough to accommodate. Great atmosphere to chat with various people at the table and quiet enough you could hear the conversation. Food was great. Everyone at the table got served at the same time! Best of Orillia. We had arancini to start (best I’ve had) in that yummy tomato sauce. Then pepperoni and fungi pizzas. So good and that dough though! The kids had the pasta and said it was the best they ever had. Service was excellent. The outdoor patio with fairy lights and beautiful plants really set the scene. We tried to book again for the next day (Friday) but you need to reserve a week in advance. Well worth it.

We came here for dinner while visiting Orillia from Toronto and it turned out to be one of the best restaurants we've been to in Canada. Everything was perfect: the food itself (the crust was how a true Italian pizza should be and the ingredients were fabulous), the menu was classy (not too long and just as how a top-quality restaurant should have, but it had everything we wanted), the patio and its atmosphere, how the staff treated us - we were discussing how we loved this place long after we left it!

My wife and I stopped here for a carb load up prior to our Triathlon. We both had pizza which was excellent. The crust is very light and has a "made from scratch" personalized feel and flavour. We were here in the summer and sat outside. The atmosphere was excellent and I would recommend, especially in the summer.

We were in the area looking for some unique food. This restaurant stood out as offering some quality food and it did not disappoint! The sweet chili n’duja pizza was a risk but turned out to be an excellent spicy and sweet combination. The eggplant Parmesan pasta was a surprisingly good plate full of texture and flavour, and we finished with a brownie affogato that was a delightful blend of sweet and salty! The little touches made a big difference for ambience. The plants were well tended to and helped you feel like you had “gone away” for the night. I especially found it endearing to see the herbs growing right next to us that were obviously well used for the food that appeared on our table. The staff were very friendly and obviously also passionate about their food!

The food was exceptional, our server "Ghost Girl" was charming and always made sure we were well taken care of. Neapolitan style pizza here is some of the best I've had in a while - definitely better than the one at Eataly. Other than the perfectly soft and chewy thin crust, rich and sweet tomato sauce, generous buffula and extra basil that I asked for, there's also some sprinkled cheese on the side of the crust. Very tasty. Can't wait to eat it again. Oh, the pizza is served with your own pizza cutter. How cute and practical! The green salad with grapes was fresh, delicate and plentiful. I'm also very pleasantly surprised that I found a tiramisu that actually passes my test. I wouldn't mind more espresso to balance the sweetness of the mascarpone, but altogether it was light, juicy and rich with big flavour. I enjoyed the casual and cozy atmosphere as well. Definitely will seek it out again next time I'm in Orillia.

Sadly I not even allowed to eat here now. I'm not "local" even though I live half the year at my cottage on Simcoe, and have for years. My home address on my license is not Orilla. For some reason they have decided they only want to serve "locals". Seems they forgot that Orilla gets a lot of tourists. They have alienated a large portion of their customer base. I will never spend a dollar here again. The policy is ridiculous. Most people who live in Orilla travel outside of Orilla on a weekly basis regardless, this policy is BS.

TLDR: Great restaurant serving delicious food and exceptional service from the ladies running the front of house. We came here on a rainy Wednesday and the place was quite lively (good sign). We chose to sit outside given the pleasant unexpected warm October evening and beautiful outdoor space they have curated. The dining tables are covered from the rain with big umbrellas or a gazebo. First time dining in the rain - quite enjoyable. I did not make reservations but the hostess (believe her name is Jenna) was very helpful in assessing when tables may open and putting me on a waitlist and estimating a 20 minute wait. After a 20 minute stroll around the neighbourhood, I walked back and they sat us down. For two guests, we ordered the Rustica meatballs, Rustica caesar salad and the seafood pasta. This was just the right amount of food. The Rustica meatballs comes with three meatballs covered with melted cheese sitting on a copious amount of chunky tomato sauce and two pieces of toasty baguette. Simple and delicious. The Rustica caesar salad was quite large and very fair for the $14 price tag. If you enjoy garlic, you will really like the pungent garlic in their creamy caesar dressing. The romaine lettuce was fresh and crisp and stood up to the generous amount of dressing used. The pickled onions were a nice touch to cut through the creamy dressing. The seafood pasta uses fresh squid ink linguine. I think the sauce is just olive oil and the juices from the seafood. While I understand the intent is to let the flavour of the seafood shine, I think a light tomato sauce would compliment the seafood and elevate the dish. Our server, Kelsey, was great. She was friendly, easy to talk to and attentive, can't ask for more.

Rústica Pizza Vino's wood oven pizza is delicious and their patio atmosphere is amazing. The blistered dough and generous high-quality ingredients were beautifully combined, while their chili oil added a nice little "kick". We also appreciated their accommodating staff, who found us a table after we had mistakenly made a reservation on a different date. I definitely recommend Rústica Pizza Vino if you're in Orillia.

I would eat this pizza out of a dumpster during a thunderstorm. I'm gluten AND dairy free. Not only did you fill my belly with the GF/DF pizza I've ever had AND a dessert I could eat, you made me feel like my restrictions weren't an annoying special accommodation but entirely normal menu options. It's so rare to experience this. I was SO pleasantly surprised at 1) the menu options available and 2) the server's knowledge of those options. When options are limited and the server doesn't know the menu well, it guarantees diners like myself feel annoyingly impossible to please and embarrassing to dine with. The drool worthy food is just a cherry on top. My only complaint is that I wish you had more tables.

We had a wonderful experience at Rustica last night. Our 11 month old was with us and we felt it was a very family friendly atmosphere. We were able to dine on the patio with the use of one of their provided high chairs. We felt very safe in respect to Covid as all servers were following precautions with masks and ensuring proper distancing between guests. We will definitely be back!

orillias best kept secret! this cute lil charming hot spot is no secret among the locals. the owner and staff fabulously pay attention to every little detail giving you that true neapolitan experience. it checks off all the boxes.. elegant, cozy, romantic but also a great place to chill with friends over pizza and wine. the energy is heart and soul and you feel that love the moment you enter. make a reservation or you may just have to pass by..like us.. most nights. thank god for their take out menu! thank you for being just lovely. cheers

My only complaint is for the price of the food, the serving sizes should much bigger.

Way over priced, portions are extremely small, menu is small. Service is good and friendly staff. Only one size of pizza available i.e. 11 inch, you are gonna pay $15-$20 for it for just 1 topping. Taste is average. If the same restaurant was in Downtown Toronto, may be people will want to spend this kind of money for such limited selection and small portions, but for Orillia income, its insanely overpriced. Does it feel fancy by overpaying and compromising on food?

My husband and I went here again for dinner. Really great place. Actually the only good place we know for dinner in Orillia. The food is great, reasonably priced and consistent quality. Good selection on the menu as well. We have some dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. The service is always exceptional. We were there late tonight (On a Monday) and they didn't rush us to finish. The place is beautiful. Last time we were here, they had just finished a private party. Not sure if they have private bookings regularly, but it'd be a great place for an event. Great patio too. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an inviting atmosphere with great food at a reasonable price.

We went for brunch recently and were very very disappointed. The brunch menu sounded delicious, but turned out to be different then described. The portions were very very small. We are thin people who usually fill up fast and cannot finish our plates, but the portions they gave us here were so small we ate everything and left hungry. We spent $80 on brunch and had to cook when we got home we were still so hungry. The food was too salty (especially the hash browns, the small amount they gave us were completely covered in salt and were barely edible). The coffee was good, but the rest of the food was just ok. Also the food took FOREVER to come. Not kidding, it was an hour after we ordered before we got any food. Even our coffee took over 25 mins and there were only 2 other tables with people in the whole place, not even busy. They need to train their staff better. It was terrible service. The waitress never once in our 2 hour stay asked us if we wanted refills on coffee, we had to keep going up to the bar to ask since she ignored our table. She never offered to get us more creamers, we had to go up and ask. Didn't check on us to see how the food was, brought ketchup that we requested out after our meal was done (20 mins after we requested it), did not check if we wanted additional mimosas, didn't bring enough cutlery, the toast that came with our meal didn't have anything on it, no option for jam or peanut butter or even butter for it unfortunately, They also don't have kids menu or colouring matts so I would not call this place family friendly. The prices were ridiculous. $15 dollars for 2 eggs and a minuscule bit of hash browns and plain toast?? $3 for chocolate milk or coffee that they never refill, $12 for 3 tiny tiny pancakes. We will not be back.

I just had the most spectacular dinner experience at Rustica Pizza Vino tonight. I am not a resident of Orillia, but the staff treated us like we were regulars. Jenna (the owner) greeted us immediately and sat us down at the back of the restaurant at a beautiful table. We were then served by Stephanie who was absolutely fantastic. We were served our drinks and food so quickly and it was delicious. Stephanie even took a few wonderful photos for us when we asked. The staff truly goes above and beyond for all of their guests, 5 stars for sure.

Had dinner with friends. The server Mike was good, he was attentive but not hovering. Food was okay, eggplant parm was good but was burnt in some places and left that burnt flavour in your mouth. Ordered side of veggies and it amounted to a few pieces of what I think was roasted squash. Problem is that the skin was left on it and I had to cut it away before consuming. Based on the other reviews I will likely try it again. My wife ordered the pizza, again, parts were burnt but overall flavor was pretty good. Wine was a score and prices were pretty reasonable. Dinner for 2 with 1 beer and a bottle of wine and a shared appetizer came to $100 + tip.
