My husband booked our anniversary dinner at Lot 88 and they took his phone number with the reservation. We arrived to find the restaurant closed with a sign “Due to unforescene circumstances” I completely understand emergencies and have no problem with closure. What I have a problem with is no consideration of a phone call.

Got the steak and lobster meal. Steak was chewy, lobster was cold and came with melted margarine instead of garlic butter. Incredibly disappointed was very over priced. Won’t return.

Definitely one of the best customer service experiences I've had and amazing food! I was surprised how well the manager took care of us and our order through skipthedishes. After placing a large order through skip and not receiving what we expected the manager went more than out of his way to make sure we we're satisfied by replacing our meals himself. 10/10 would order again!

This place is wonderful. Lauren was my server and she was fabulous! She had an upbeat, positive and professional attitude. She was an absolute pleasure. She really made eating here a great experience. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and mussels and the food was incredible! Flavour, presentation, and value top notch. I highly recommend this place for a date night or any occasion really. It's a beautiful restaurant with a city ambiance. Feels like your downtown in a fancy restaurant but there's lots of free parking! Keep up the great work guys, I will definitely return! Cheers

We were a party of 10 with reservations, celebrating 2 birthdays. All the staff were great...helpful, informative,and very patient. We were there for 3 hours, never felt rushed. Everyone enjoyed their meal and had fun cooking on the lava rock. We will definitely go back.

Interior was not rennovated from previous restaurant here which was a pizza hut. Very expensive food in what seems like should be a cheap restaurant. Steak cuts were sub par and service was poor. Other lot88 locations are better.

This was our first restaurant that we took 4 friends to when we first moved to town... Lot 88 came highly recommend for their steak and the experience of the lava stones... We all enjoyed the meal and the novelty. Great service. We will be back.

Stopped in there a couple weeks back for lunch. Ordered the steak sandwich and it was the best steak sandwich I have had and it was an actual steak not something thin cut like you get at a burger shop The dinner menu looked awesome so we went to go back and try dinner just over a week ago and it was closed it didn’t look open today when we drove by. I hope everything is okay and I will have a chance to try their dinner menu soon

At first when my steak was delivered (Cali Cut Pepper Corn 10 oz). I was confused as I was directed to cut pieces off and cook them individually on the hot stone it came on. Well, let me be the first to say that after going to 100 steak houses... THIS WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE AND BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD. HOT throughout the entire meal and so goooood. This is my new spot, additionally, the best spot for Calamari in town as well. 10 outta 10!

Went tonight with my girlfriend after she raved about how good the meal was at the one in North Bay. Did not disappoint. Though they were busy and short staffed, the hostess and waiter were attentive and amazing. The food was great, and cooking the steak on the lava stone was a great experience. Will be back.

My wife and I went for a nice dinner. I had the filet $36 with a loaded twice backed potato for an extra $3. She had the salmon. I asked for creamy horseradish for the steak. When the bill arrived there was an extra charge of $1.50 for the sour cream and another $1.50 for the horseradish. I asked to speak with the owner who informed me that they charge for all the sauces even though neither sour cream nor horseradish was mentioned on the menu. He was not at all polite and though I have never written a review before I feel that this was just plain petty and wanted to let others know. Will not be back. Disappointing as it could be a nice addition to the restaurant scene in Orillia.

I have never seen this concept of bringing your steak (very rare) to the table on an extremely hot stone, where you slice & cook it to your liking. The stone stays hot for the entire time it takes to eat your steak. I even had time to heat my baked potato & my beets, after I finished eating my steak! Wonderful concept, very well done, totally impressed! Will be back soon!

Great atmosphere! They set up a nice patio in the parking lot. Cooking the steak on your own stone was delicious. Pork ribs were a bit flavorless. The server was very nice but we had to wait long time to get our food which was a bit disappointing.

A cool concept that actually yields a great taste and texture steak. Teaghan was our server and she made great suggestion for both food and drink. I had the striploin with added Yorkshire puddings and peppercorn sauce which was incredible. I eat at high-end steak restaurants frequently and must say the sear stone gives the feel and taste of a $100 prime or wagyu steak. Highly recommend.

Last night was our first experience with this restaurant in Orillia. We were pleasantly greeted at the door by a young gentlemen who led us to our table. My mother has some mobility issues and has a walker, so we are not quick. The young man walked slowly and chatted with us in a very pleasant matter as we made our way thru the restaurant to our booth. Such a great first impression, hard to improve you would think? Nope. Our server Teegan, so friendly, so professional, so interested. She asked if it was our first experience and we said "yes", she then walked us thru the menu and made recommendations. My father is Gluten Free and we asked about a dip, she said they didn't have a chip that was on the menu but said she would see what the kitchen could do... she came back and said they would deep fry some corn tortillas and make it work... WOW... I know this is getting wordy but I am not done. The young man who sat us cleared dishes, poured wine and was interested in our table. We thought wow what a great greeter. We expressed to Teegan how impressed we were and that is when we discovered he was THE BOSS. The dinner we had was outstanding, Pad Thai for Mom and Steak, shrimp and scallops on a hot rock (their specialty) were all outstanding. Thoroughly impressed and recommend without any hesitation... "YOU GOTTA EAT HERE".

We had a family dinner here this past evening to celebrate our Mom's 80th birthday. The restaurant was super busy but that had no effect on our experience. Everybody was very pleased with the quality of the food and the service. This was my first visit and definitely won't be my last. Great job Lot 88, the steak and shrimp were delicious!

Came here for a Birthday celebration. This place is awesome!! Dwayne the manager and Dawn our server are fantastic. We started with oysters and escargot. I had the steak self cooked on the stone and my wife had the chicken parmesan. Add to this a bottle of Perseco and a couple of martinis and this place rocks!! This was our first time of what will be many visits!!

Was very excited to try this new restaurant, but ended up very disappointed... The restaurant was only half full when we arrived for dinner, we waited an hour before we got our appetizers... People sitting behind us got there after us and recieved their apps before us.. When we finally recieved our main courses, we ordered steak on the stone. The steak was very good, but all our sides (mashed potatoes) were ice cold... Our waitress had to be reminded multiple times that I asked for a refill on my drink as she kept forgetting to bring it. Overall, very disappointed, I wanted to like this place.... Won’t be returning.

7:30 reservation took 20 min to prepare, appetizers took and hour to arrive, food order took another 45 min to arrive, not all appetizers arrived at the same time. Some people good there main meal before appetizers, what a unorganized table service, food was not to bad, but won’t be back and won’t recommend.

Redneck fine dining! Neat idea to cook your own food, but at least deliver the cut of meat that was ordered,don't pawn off a sirloin as a rib eye! The atmosphere and decor was very nice. I didn’t appreciate the smokiness of the place. My hair & clothes smelled very smokey for hours after we left. I didn’t appreciate breathing in so much of this smoke and it can’t be healthy at all. I strongly recommend better ventilation in this restaurant. We sat at a table close to the bar and we had about 4 waiters & waitresses looking after us which I didn’t appreciate because it was very disorganized. We would be asked the same questions by various staff. Got our main meal with no fork, no one came to ask how our meal was and no one to check up on us to make sure we had what we needed. We had a mushroom appetizer and it was just ok. Nothing special. I got Pad Thai and the menu didn’t specify that it was a very sweet Pad Thai. It tasted like noodles with a sauce that had way too much sugar in it with a bit of hot sauce. It had large pieces of chicken that were dry and not tasty at all and I think that the chicken wasn’t pre marinated before being added to the pasta. It was like having your desert before your main meal. I don’t recommend this dish.

Best place for drinks in Orillia! Fantastic martini's/cocktails and the steak on the hot stone is perfect (because you get to cook it to the exact wellness that you like!)! On top of that, the service is great as well, friendly with some good suggestions! Will definitely be visiting this place quite often!

We decided to try this restaurant as it is new in Orillia and the four of us were disappointed. I ordered onion soup and I was informed that it was not available. The calamari was good but a bit well done. Half salads are not available and either are half rack of ribs. The ribs were okay. One of us ordered the seafood linguini and there was plenty of scallops and shrimp. The chicken pasta dish was good and plentiful. Bread is not available only when it comes with certain dishes. When butter was requested for a baked potatoe it came melted. It appeared only nine ounce glasses of wine are available. The restaurant was okay and therefore I rated it only a three star.

I'd give it an 88/100 cause I liked it a Lot 88. At first I was worried about the vampires but then I remembered that's Salem's Lot, silly me! I got some garlic on the side just in case. Only downside is I think they hate turtles cause there was straws in every drink.

We had a special occasion last month and didn't want to go out so we ordered takeout from Lot 88. We had salad, scallops, steak and lobster. I initially thought that takeout would lose some flavor in the food but I was completely wrong. Steak was flavorful and tender and the lobster was great. Dessert was very good too. We are planning on returning soon for dine in.

Great dining experience unfortunately we came on a night they were short staffed but the extra wait time to get seated and get our appetizers, entrees and such was put to rest by the amazing friendly staff and manager who were going over and above to keep the restaurant patrons happy. I had the grill your own filet and lobster what a beautiful piece of meat and great way to eat a steak every bite was hot and cooked just perfect so tender and juicy. Colin our server was doing double duty as bar tender and our server hopefully the bar patrons did not mind that his time had to be split with the dinning room as my wife and I were very impressed with his friendly service and he was very knowledgeable of the best way to cook my steak and lobster on the stone. Overall even with having to wait for certain things we had a great time had a great server and a great dining experience we will definitely be back to try more stone cooking options I highly recommend the cooking your own steak on the stone option.

A new spot for a good dinner with a large menu. Fantastic mushroom with truffle appetizer. The only issue that I had was the hot stone they bring your meat on splattered oil or grease from the cooking meat all over the place including my shirtsleeves and cutlery when it was resting on the table. Careful you don't leave the meat on the stone or it will be overcooked in no time. Best to put the meat on a plate and cut it as you like then put it on the stone to heat each bite, which by the way keeps your food hot for the entire meal.

Super disappointed with this restaurant. We attended as a party of 4 and the service was very slow to begin. Took about 15 minutes or so just to get our drinks. Apps came out really quickly and then our mains a bit later. While most of my party enjoyed their meals, my chicken was undercooked. I double checked with the folks at my table to make sure I wasn't seeing things, and everyone agreed that they wouldn't eat it themselves. I let the server know right away, and she asked if I wanted another one. A few minutes later she comes back out with the same bowl of food asking if I'm sure if it's undercooked. Not sure what sort of restaurant takes away a plate and then brings the same food back asking if the guest is sure that there's something wrong with their meal. I'm a former server myself, so I know that's a highly inappropriate way to deal with a table having issues with their food. I again reiterated that my chicken was pink in the middle and the server went back and brought out a new bowl a little while later. This time the bowl was missing another component of ingredients, which I had to ask for when she came back around. Once the server brought out the missing ingredient, she never came back to our table, except to collect her money (we also waited another 10 or 15 minutes without any plates or glasses on our table before the server even noticed that we needed our bills). Super disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a great evening!

Concept is really cool, the service was average at best, not overly friendly...but the food was fantastic. Recommend as a date night if you haven't been there.

Made a reservation on a Sunday, location was not overly busy. Just a couple small groups and couples. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Drink and menu selection had a decent variety and was priced accordingly. Slightly pricier than your average restaurant but this comes with the upscale atmosphere and environment. Thoroughly enjoyed the 8 oz too sirloin with rice and mixed veggies. You do cook your own steak with a lava stone to your liking but I find this adds to the experience in a positive way. I understand some people may not feel the same. The rice and vegetable portions could have been more significant but to be fair, I tend to eat a larger amount. All in all, this was a quality first experience and I will return to visit again. I would recommend stopping in if you haven't already done so.

Fabulous steak on the hot stone(you cook it yourself), and the signature salad is out of this world. I will be back again and again. Orillia needs a spot like this!

Celebrated a special occasion at Lot 88 in Orillia last night and it was the perfect venue for my celebration. The service is amazing, and the food is delicious. We are very lucky to have this restaurant in Orillia. It's excellent for ambiance, food quality and service. Highly recommend. (Covid precautions felt safe and appropriate too).

New Years Dinner 2021 I swear this was the best steak I've had in 10 years! Served on their Hot Stone! My first bite was as delicious as the last. I had the Filet Mignon with the deliciously potent Brandy Peppercorn sauce and it was perfect! The staff all came together to make this an outstanding experience for my wife and our other guests (party of 4) and I can't wait to go back! Who would have though Orillia would have better steaks than my usual Toronto /GTA experience? You blew me mind!

This place gets a three only because the managers service was good and food was okay (sports bar quality, not fine dining). Service was awful from our server. older lady server was quite rude and did not listen to what we wanted. Kept forgetting side sauces, drinks and would walk away while you were telling the server what you wanted. Then would bring stuff out you didn’t want. Just bad attitude for someone working in customer service. Going out to dine is about good food and good service. This visit lacked the second part!

So disappointed, it may have been an off night but steak was ordered medium and was rare, pasta had undercooked bacon, and the salad was full of the worst parts of the lettuce.

Went there for dinner last night the environment was very mellow, dimmed lighting and the surf & turf meal on the stone was great. NEVER order the lobster though???? very fishy and GROSS is why this dropped 2 star. Not worth $19 lobster tail on the side!
