From appearance alone I would suspect this place has been here since the dawn of time. Real hole-in-the-wall little diner but don't let appearances fool you. Awesome, friendly staff, good food at reasonably prices (the breakfasts are particularly welcome if you're dragging ass early in the day), and fast service. This is a real little gem in Orillia and well worth the visit.

Good if you like old timey looking restaurants, service is good but the food is sub par. Also Too much onion on the burgers, (the onoins are also cut to big, the burgers are dry and make you feel sick every time). But if you just want eggs, bacon, sausage or a hot dog this is the place to go

Was excited to see I could order hills to be delievered and was super disappointed in the quality of food (I havent been in awhile but always had a great experience!). Since it was delivery I understand it being luke warm. But I ordered chicken strips and poutine and the strips were cheap looking (think no name/store brand) and the poutine was not what was expected (I hate chedder cheese and it was never said chedder cheese would be on it). Maybe it is better if you go inside and eat but after the amount we spent to treat ourselves I dont think we will be going out of our way to go there/order from there again.

Absolutely AMAZING ! Ordered take out for the first time, and the food is out of this world. Truly authentic home dining. I ordered the Turkey Club, this chicken was hearty, juicy, and amazing ! It was better than I could have made a home and in a fraction of the time. I asked for a bunch of extra things, and modifications, and they had no problems whatsoever :) ! Will definitely continue to support this business! Ps. Breakfast is delicious as well :) !

Had the broasted chicken which was delicious. Didn't know what broasted chicken was until today. Meal was very inexpensive! Good portion sizes. $8.95 for 2 pieces of chicken, lots of fries and a pepsi. Great value!! Server was very friendly. Only down side was all the flies on the patio. We found ourselves in Orillia for the weekend as our grandson was participating in a hockey tournament. Of course that mandated an early morning breakfast and we chose the perfect spot. Good food, excellent service and we got to meet the greatest leaf of all, Daryl Sittler. He was gracious enough to interrupt his meal to take a picture with our grandson. If you're looking for a mom and dad type restaurant with a friendly staff and good food, this is it.

One of the last tried and true "Ma & Pa" restaurants; Hill's is a local favourite and a bit of a hidden gem for tourists. I've been eating here my entire life and even worked here a few times. Everyone is awesome and there's a nice atmosphere when things are open normally. I usually rotate between Tony's club, the fish and chips or the banquet burger. If you like gravy you'll want to try the turkey gravy for sure. Nothing really beats a Hill's breakfast either. If you're lucky enough to go when they have cheesecake give that a try fo shooo, the baked goods always exceed expectations. If you're looking for a well-portioned home cooked meal for a fair price this is one of your best options in Orillia!

Long wait time for a table and even longer wait time for food. We were ignored until a table was ready. No one even greeted us in passing. Very loud, hard to have a conversation. I had a Hot Chicken Sandwich that tasted like it should be from a frozen dinner. No taste to the gravy, just white goop. Veggies were overcooked with no taste. Chicken wasn't good quality. My companion had a BLT that looked to be more bread than bacon, lettuce or tomato. We will never eat here again. Not sure why it's so popular for such poor quality food.

Just moved to Orillia. Really felt like steak on a bun, this restaurant was listed. When the phone was answered I was asked to hold. Here goes the adventure. After 22 min on the phone, it was on the counter do I could hear how busy it was. I got into the car with my phone( still on hold) and drove to restaurant. Many Skip were waiting, I went in and told them the phone was off the hook. Took the order home and half was wrong. Never again!!!! 32 min.on hold and lost business

Well, first of all, after a friendly waitress wiped our table down, a second waitress took five min to approach the table and didn't say a simple "Sorry to keep you waiting." The food's prices were pretty expensive, but yeah, we were hungry, so we stayed. The waitress wasn't engaging. Actually, she was less than impressed to answer questions. Was she terrible? No...still, i wasnt impressed. The food was fairly good. Adios to this place. I dont expect "awesome".....i do expect to be engaged or acknowledged better.

Good place for a quick breakfast especially when it $7.74 Bacon and eggs breakfast special. It includes a drink and home or dollar fries. $0.25 upcharge for rye toast. The ambiance is dated, but still charming considering how old the restaurant is.

Food not the best did not great what o ordered the staff did not check in. The home fries are not HOMEFRIES they are frozen from a bag and served very greasy and taste like old dirty grease. WILL NOT go back again. They need to remove the benches and put in tables and chairs it felt very over crowed.

French toast was terrible! Sausage is a piece of sausage cut in half and burnt..my friend got a vanilla milkshake and it tasted like old frost bitten ice cream when we made a complaint the waitress was extremely rude. Expensive prices for terrible food. Do not recommend

Just visited for the first time. Great service and food. The breakfast special was a good portion, quickly brought to the table, and really well priced. Coffee was good and my mug was never empty. I will be returning again.

We go regularly. Best breakfast spot around, portions are large, a grease pit in a good way. More importantly the staff make this place warm. I can't express in words how much we enjoy this spot.

Food was okay. Yes, typical diner food, but the home fries were not even home made. I will say the staff was extremely friendly. They could put a few bucks into the place ..replace the kitchen counters that are worn down.

Sep 12 2020 My wife and i enjoyed our breakfast at this restaurant, we liked everything, its clean , the service was great, the waiter witch could be the owner was amazing . We are 100 percent going back there . Thank you hills maple leaf. That review was last weeks lol Sep 19 we are here again , this place is busy, no surprise to us, again food is great and service is great , the owner is very very generous, Jessica the waitress is amazing , she is happy , fast and efficient. PEOPLE all and all my wife and i love this place. Anytime we come to orillia we will be here for breakfast. I urge everyone e to try this restaurant, i guarantee that you will love it. Today sep 17 2021 we came back for another amazing breakfast at hills maple restaurant in orillia , and , again we are very happy and excited to be here. Jessica the waitress from last visit , that means she lives her job, she is amazing again. Today we met our waitress RANDY, OOHH MY GOD amazing , fast, funny, all you need from a great server. This restaurant is ????great. Today is sep 25 2021 back again to hills , and Randi was our waitress again amazing amazing ????lady we love her, had 2 lunch meals ooohh my god , great flavors beautiful food. ????. October 16 We r back again all the way from Toronto, for an amazing breakfast thi place wows me every time. The waitress is great, the food is realy great.

Small and very busy, took awhile to get a seat, probably because it was such a good "breakfast dinner". Service was very talented, with minimal staff they seemed to serve everyone at a reasonable time. Food was very fast! And it was exactly what I wanted for breakfast.

Always a great deal and the fries are excellent! Not many options as a vegetarian but it's a classic diner, vegans and vegetarians don't exist to that lot haha. The carnivores I was with say the breakfast special is the best always comes as ordered and never a disappointment. Staff are patient and kind!

The staff were great but in the end the food has to be good. The fries were definitely frozen and reheated, the eggs were runny, and the bacon was under. Maybe this was an outlier but my wife and I will not be back.

Great food, friendly place that you don't need a reservation for like the snotty place down the road. Regular people eat here with smiles and just good home cooked food. The kitchen could get some attention as it needs a face lift but all in all it's a great place without listen to the phony uppity type who frequent the other over priced place.
