Best Diner Breakfast I’ve had in years. Seriously! Yummy seasoned home fries w optional fried onions & mushrooms to top. Homemade pork patty, little fruit cup and French toast sprinkled w icing sugar. Great service and beautifully decorated patio with hundreds of potted flowers.

Big breakfast portions. The breakfast was prepared well and I especially enjoyed the home fries which are dusted with a light flavouring... similar to the California dusting from New York Fries. Our breakfast came with sauteed mushrooms and onions. There are some Filipino foodstuffs, according to our friendly server they will be expanding their selection in the future. Will come back here again.

After moving to the area a year ago, we tried Hermie’s for breakfast. We have since made it our go to breakfast diner in Orillia. We have tried several of their breakfast dishes and we have been impressed by all of them. They are also very flexible if you want to change something. As with any good breakfast place, you must have excellent coffee. Hermie’s has that and Chris makes sure to keep your cup topped up with hot,strong coffee during the meal. Last night we decided to try dinner as they had recently added a few new selections. My wife and I shared a plate of shrimp and calamari as an appetizer and a nice glass of red wine. For dinner, we both had the lamb shank with home made mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was a tremendous meal and we haven’t found another restaurant in Orillia that serves lamb shanks. At only $18, it’s a steal and if you’re a senior like me, take advantage of the 10% discount. Give it a try. We’re glad we found Hermie’s. You will be too.

Ok folks … Single Handedly the best breakfast place in Orillia. I’ve been everywhere from the hills to Tammy’s and the bayside curling club breakfast spot and back again. Now tht I found This place I’ll be coming regularly I had the big breakfast and mhalkita… I’m loving it … Will be back. Check it out , it’s an art form when you see the presentation of the food on your plate and it tastes just as good of not better.

Small but cosy restaurant. It was filled at the time of our arrival so it indicates that its a relatively popular place. Food was delicious and came out relatively quickly considering how large our party was. Some breakfast plates were better valued comparative to food quantity. It was nice to have a Filipino breakfast option (though some veggies to go with it would have been nice) and while we didn't try it during our visit, it is nice to see more Filipino dishes served in the afternoon. Lots of beautiful plants and photos of the Philippines. Attentive and accommodating service. A well rounded diner over all!

Had breakfast here with my son and daughter-in-law just days before the shutdown. The owner served us and he was awesome. His wife is the chef. The food was amazing! Everything prepared exactly as we requested. Service was quick. I even had wine. Atmosphere is homey. Can’t wait until they reopen. Save us a seat! Damn you COVID-19!

Visited Hermie's a little while back and it was great! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Service is timely and personable. The menu has a good selection and variety to choose from. Ended up getting breakfast and let's say I'm not always a fan of home fries but these ones were awesome! Definitely opt for the mushrooms and onions on top. Will return again and definitely recommend visiting if you haven't yet.

Stopped by on a whim while visiting Orillia and what a pleasant surprise. We were expecting a classic diner breakfast, until we saw the Filipino dishes on the menu. We both opted for these specialities and I can’t recommend them highly enough! The food was delicious and hearty, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. I usually never write reviews, but this spot was worth it. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Orillia!

i dont normally leave reviews, but had a great experience here and figured i would leave one today. -Service was prompt and friendly -Food was brought out fairly quickly, it was piping hot and it was delicious. ( i had eggs, sausage, homefries and toast ) - the patio was setup quite nicely with lots of flowers and umbrellas so you didnt bake in the sun. overall i really enjoyed it and will be back to try some dinner items there. the table next to us had burgers and it looked awesome as well. 4 stars for 2 minor reasons ( and id give 4.5 if i could ) coffee was meh, as i drink coffee black im kinda picky that way. homefries, while cooked properly, well seasoned, were the type that are frozen then fried. home made homefries are really much better. With that being said, go there and try it. i know il be back. thank you to the owners and staff.

I tried this diner for the first time today with my friend. It's a cute local diner that I know will become a regular spot for me. The food was delicious and the customer service was very personable. The owner was very accommodating when my friend mentioned she was vegetarian. He gave a bunch of suggestions for her and even came back to the table to double check if she was ok to have butter. I really appreciated that gesture.

This is a real gem of a place! Great friendly atmosphere and food! The owner is the server! Good to see this in a diner where he is very personable and on the front lines knowing what is going on in his diner. I had the “big breakfast” and was so huge I couldn’t finish it all. Very well prepared and cooked. Definitely worth a visit! On a side note, this place receives a lot of senior’s visits. On this day, there was a group of older gentlemen in their mid 70’s. They were so busy cracking jokes at one another, I couldn’t help; but not laugh! They got shear enjoyment out of knowing they had an audience! It was like a scene ripped right out from the two movies! Such a great place!

I want to say, this is the spot to go in Orillia, for the best breakfast around, lake simcoe. My wife and I sat on the patio, and we were served by Chris. The service was some of the best I have ever had. Our order was placed , and it no time it was served steaming hot. My goodness, the portions, were huge. The quality was excellent. We chatted with Chris briefly, and he advised us, his wife was in fact the chef. They have been at this location for less than a year. I plan on returning, if you're smart you'll stop by and try the food. This is going to be the place to go in Orillia. Thanks again Chris !.

Had breakfast this morning at Hermie's Diner and it was good. I had a bacon breakfast sandwich which came with home fries and a small container of mixed fruit. The sandwich was great. My husband had a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich with a salad instead of fries, and the sandwich was good also. They even had the oil and vinegar dressing which a lot of restaurants do not have. They have hired a new cook also.

Meh. Tried a ton of breakfast spots in orillia. Ordered take out. Nothing to write home about. First and last time likely. Hash browns were alright but small portions. Asked for sausage. Got an over cooked hamburger patty instead and the eggs were small. To the reply. There won't be a next time. Why would I come back to a place where my first time wasn't good. Taste doesn't change, I'm talking portions for the price. What you using a different sized egg and Give extra potatoes for dine in? Regardless of dine in and take out during the pandemic take out should be on point to dine in. That didn't taste a thing like Any other sausage I've ever had. I know the difference between beef and pork.

Fantastic service and a wonderfully unique menu. I had the cajun bennedict and so should you. The sauce had an amazing richness and flavour without going overboard (like most breakfast spots). I will gladly go back and look forward to what they add to the menu (its still a work in progress).

First visit i had the banquet burger and it was probably the best I've had in this town recently, and today I had the steak sandwich and it was amazing! The owners are really personable and friendly, and the prices are actually reasonable, like pre-covid prices. This'll be the first place i recommend for a bomb meal!

Don't let the name scare you off like it did me. This place serves a mean breakfast!! The new COVID screening slowed them down but for a Sunday, the 15 minute wait didn't bother us a bit. I stopped short of 5 stars simply because of the seating. Extremely low and not much room for a big fella. Breakfast was hot, fast, absolutely delicious and priced very fair though, so I definitely recommend this place and will be back!

The food here is soo delicious. Authentic Filipino food. Tried the Beef Stir fry, and the Sizzling Fish, both exquisite!! I love this place. If you haven't tried here, anytime you get the chance please do. The ambiance is awesome, and the staff are very welcoming. Kudos to Hermie!
