REVIEWS OF GEORGE Restaurant IN Ontario

Food was great! Couldn't ask for better presentation, taste and execution of the food. Only gave it 4 stars as the service was just average. It took a bit of time to order, get water top ups and for our plates to be taken away after each course. Overall a great place for a great meal.

George Saddleback

The experience and ambiance was great but the food had too many flavours going on

Ingrid Wolf

I can't say enough great things about George. Having been here twice I can attest to the mastery and creativity of their kitchen staff. We ordered a seven-course tasting menu which was stunning in its complex mixture of flavours. Each meal is an unforgettable experience that practically bathed me in unique combinations of tastes and food synergy. The front of the house might use a bit of polish, but they're quite friendly and generally capable, without a whiff of pretense. Comfortable surroundings and a decent, if not extensive wine list round things out. This restaurant is a Canadian treasure and I'll be returning on a regular basis.

Amazing experience! We just got married and they took complete care of us. Excellent food, excellent service. Special thanks to the Gm for our champagne????

Wang Longxuan

Delicious and well crafted tasting menu. My dining partner and I were each served unique dishes, which made the meal feel that much more unique. Cocktails were also very well balanced and delicious.

Reena Pabari

Food is amazing, charging $3 for flat water is a greasy move.

Jerowe Ragudo

Had a great meal @ George they have a wonderful private room perfect for small groups. The food was simply delicious. Most of the group had cosimos which they think are the best ever @ George. They have an amazing wine selection. The lobster starter was fabulous and had the duck 2and everything pairs so well together. They have amazing deserts and housemade gelato & ice cream fabulous. The service is amazing too

Matt Maynard

This place is the bomb dot com. We did the 7 course blind tasting menu with wine pairing and my god was it phenomenal. Flavour explosions.

Gregory McMillan

Enzo was great to us. Perfect place for vegans too!!!!!!

Angela Guerra

Proudly Canadian! ???????? The food and red wine were amazing. It was nice to say goodbye with dessert. Thanks for everything...

Mary McCullough

Supreme quality of food. But I found "too much salt" a customary here. Without the salt, definitely recommend ! Outdoor patio like seating but they don't have heaters for every table(potential areas of improvement). Good restaurant, will try it out in summers.

We had the most amazing experience at George Restaurant last night. The food and the wine pairing was not only amazing but we, as a couple, was served 14 different dishes and 14 different wines. So my husband and I did not receive the same dish and therefore we were able to taste the other's dishes. It's not only great for the taste buds, but also for creating a romantic experience, sharing and feeding each other. Well, thought, the food was fantastic, the sommelier was so interesting... And we were more than happy to be able to be served in our mother tongue in French by our wonderful and so attentionnate waiter, Phillippe. Not only do we recommend, but we are so looking forward to coming back to TO to live this experiences and exquisite service! Bravo!

Katie Elsass

Unique experience, friendly wait staff. Menu was thoughtfully curated. Great selection of vegetarian dishes available for their tasting menu. There was so much variety in the flavors that not one dish tasted the same. The only downfall I would say was how long the 10 course tasting menu took to get through. We were there for close to 4 hours. I wish we were warned ahead of time. The pace started off great but got a bit slow in the middle as the restaurant got a bit busy. Other than that, had a really great time.

My husband and I had an Anniversary dinner last night. The whole experience was amazing. Amazing service, amazing people, amazing food and awesome table. We had ordered the 5 course meal with wine paring and were seated in a private room cubicle. A very romantic atmosphere. Our server was Steve and he was so friendly, very laid back but also professional. I believe it was the manager, Franck who presented us with our wines. He was so so friendly and made small talk without being robotic or overbearing. Best of all was the food, the chef, Loseto, was amazing. His style, the presentation of the dishes were like pieces of art. It tasted incredible. The whole evening couldn't have been more amazing.

Visited George Restaurant for a wedding and it is one of the most beautiful and unique venues in the city. Plenty of places to take amazing photos and not to mention the absolutely delicious food!

It’s been a while since I’ve dined at George’s but I have been twice in the past and just wanted to add my review. George is by far my favourite restaurant in Toronto! I’ve had their tasting menu on both my visits and everything... Is... Just... SO. Good! The food, the dish presentation, the service, the atmosphere and oh, the culinary knowledge!! Don’t even get me started on their Sommeliers and their fantastic wine pairing. The food portions are small but the tasting menus will have you feeling full and satisfied. I absolutely cannot wait to return. It is pricey but worth every dollar. For 2, I’ve yet to spend less than $500. However the food is beautiful, delicious and MEMORABLE.

The tasting menu was incredible. I didn’t love all the wine pairings but that is part of the fun of trying new wines. The overall the service, experience and atmosphere were amazing. I loved all the food and most of the wine.

Mark C

4.6 Loved it here. Food, wine flight and staff were all great. Would be good to see non-alcoholic beers here and non-alcoholic wine flights/drinks too.

Michael Sheffer

A wonderful and enlightening culinary experience. I've gone to this location for birthday's and celebrating new life experiences. I was never disappointed and was always warmly welcomed by the staff. If you want some of the best culinary experience in Toronto, this place must be on your "to visit" list. Each dish had a unique blend of flavors that I never knew would actually go there and I've always been excited by what the chef brought out. New dish is unique and the knowledgeable wait-staff always takes the time to explain the dish and the inspiration behind it, each meal has these intricate flavours that I never knew could exist on a plate. The cocktail menu is also plentiful and has a wide range of wines/beers that you can select from to match your palate. I had the opportunity to try different types of drinks and was not disappointed. Even as a simple burger/beer type of guy, I had a very delightful experience and felt welcomed by the entire staff. I will for sure be back in the future!

Dara Moon

We had the 10-course meal with wine and cocktails for my birthday and it was probably the best meal (and most expensive) I’ve ever had. I’m knocking off a star for the bus boy who kept trying to take my plate away before I finished. Please wait until everyone is done eating before clearing our plates!

A fantastic dining experience. Two of is each had the three course tasting menu and they do mirrored plates (each person gets something different) , so with our swapping it was more like a six course. Delicious food with sophisticated touches and nice presentation. Service is on point. Nice setting. Terrific dining location for lunch or dinner.

Peggy Capitain

Gorgeous, safe patio and excellent service. They've been going strong for 18 years and I wish them well.

Stella Wheeler

Great tasting menu, you will not be disappointed.

Alexander Hwang

Ordered 4 course tasting menu. Really good. While the portions may look small, but when eaten together did feel full and satisfied. All of the containers used were plant based which was a nice touch. Everything in the photos is how it was plated. Everything was packed nicely and in a big box, so easy to transport home.

Archana Sahota

Fantastic experience! Food was delicious! Tuna tartare, scallops, tenderloin - all really really good.

GEORGE Restaurant is a hidden gem, in Toronto. My beautiful wife and I had our 2021 wedding anniversary here and we were very happy that we did. From start to finish, the experience was a very good one. The drinks were tasty and the meals were plated like artwork. Everything was delicious and the presentation was amazing.

Genevieve Anderson

Absolutely superb dinner in the Courtyard. Beautifully prepared and presented. Taste, textures, unique combinations, balance. Attentive service. Chose from the a la carte menu. Will try the tasting menu next time.

Rhonal

We dined tonight at George in Toronto and the food was amazing! What was even more amazing was the sommelier, Christina, and the excellent wines she sourced. She had terrific attention to detail. Needless to say, we were wow'd and are very grateful for the amazing job the restaurant did not, only with the food but most especially with our sommelier and the wines she presented.

This was our second experience at George Restaurant. The first time we went was 11 years ago on our first trip. The food and experience was just as good as we remembered. Its really a one of kind experience that is perfect for a date or special occasion. The service, food and wine was all top notch!

Ace Numan

Exquisite presentation, great tasting dishes.

Mary

Had the seven course menu and each course was a double course so you actually get to try 14 dishes if your partner is willing to share! Delicious and creative from beginning to end. Portions were much larger than any usual tasting menus.

Reuben Roth

Good wine program - they should do something about the mosquitoes though!

Samantha Richardson

Great food and ambience

Sue Balcony

Mind blowing food!

Alanna Cartier

Fantastic food and service. No doubt one of the best restaurant in Toronto. There is really nothing to pick on the food, they are just perfect for my taste. I love their presentation on the dish too. Definitely will consider going back for that special occasion.

CeCilia Chan

This place is exquisite!! the food was to die for and the staff was so nice and attentive. will define fully be coming back for more

Alex Okrushko

Wonderful experience with the 7 course and wine pairings for two. Attentive staff. A few mistakes in the order but quickly rectified. Fine dining but not pretentious. Shame about the mouse trap in the corner but it’s a given in any Big city!

Rebecca Rivera

This wedding venue is an incredible location with great service. The ceremony space is moody and romantic and the food delicious.

DS E Assist

Loved every dish that we were served. Service was impeccable. The atmosphere on the patio was very relaxing. It is expensive, but a great place to go to to celebrate a special occasion.

Michael Falconi

My wife and I did the 5 course tasting menu. It was a magical journey through heaven. The service was amazing, atmosphere of the heated patio was very beautiful and romantic. It was expensive but definitely worth the dining experience.

Jubair Ahmed

Great restaurant with great food. Had a good time tasting the fusion of flavors on our pescetarian 7 course meal. However felt like there was some overlap with the flavors - nothing too big of a deal, but takes away from the experience. The kitchen is open and you can see the chef lashing out at his staff occasionally. This may be entertaining on TV, but becomes disruptive while we're enjoying our meal and trying to have a conversation. Service was top notch and felt very personal (in a good way).

Soni K

Very fine dining experience. Staff were fantastic and entire experience was brilliant.

Farnaz

I've been to Georges about three times over the past few years - usually due to others inviting me there. It's a decent restaurant although not one I would select in particular. We had the Seven course tasting menu with wine pairings: their wine pours are very generous. I usually always get wine pairings at restaurants and I had not been that buzzed in a long time. Overall the atmosphere has always been nice albeit always packed. And the service has been very good. The food is okay - maybe 7 or 8 out of 10. It's good to try although I've been here a few times so most likely will check out other spots in the city before returning again soon

Ruchika Bhatia

Seven course vegetarian tasting menu. Absolutely delicious! Three hours of food and I would highly recommend the experience.

Kerry Wah

The service was really good - atmosphere is nice - lovely wine - Food is good but a bit expensive though - the soup of the day was artichokes but it was tasteless, everything else was good.

Ray Du

Exceptional food we had the 5 course vegetarian tasting menu! The bar tender created custom made mocktails for us. A few of the dishes invoked spiritual experiences. Great service with laid back atmosphere too!

WHAT TO TRY?? They have tasting menu as well as a-la-carte. I usually get the tasting menu because they are known for their tasting menu and sometimes it’s nice to have an element of surprise when I’m eating once in a while! If you go for the tasting menu, I recommend the 5 course menu. Having a choice of either 5,7 or 10 courses, and I having tried the 5 and 7 course meals, I find the 5 course menu more than enough food to eat comfortably. The menu is determined by the head chef ahead of time and not all people at the table may get the same dishes so it’s nice that there’s a variety there too! You can let the servers know your dietary restrictions and they will accommodate it! The dishes are created based on the ingredients in season and they try their best to source their ingredients at the local farms. The tasting menu also has a vegetarian option and it is cheaper than the regular tasting menu so that’s great to accommodate those vegetarians too! LAST TIP?! This restaurant has a chef’s table where the table can see how the kitchen prepares the dishes via a mirror on the ceiling. If you want to see how busy the kitchen is and how they prepare your dish, you might want to request a table closer to the kitchen!

Went for a business meeting, left happy, not over saturated. It serves fresh sea food plates, fresh pasta... not too much on butter or artificial flavors. All flavors are natural and when you finish you feel you will be ready to eat again in 4-5 hours - this is how it should be! Great service, delicate flavors, the real thing... Go!! Worth it, 100%. We visited the restaurant for family event. We gathered in private room with access to the courtyard patio. Every thing was great and enjoyable.

Sam Van Oort

Decadent meal. The patio was beautiful. The service was impeccable.

Dave Gussin

Perfect swine cuisine very good texture tastes too much like grandma though would recommend

We booked George just a month before our wedding in August 2021. Sonia, the event coordinator, was amazing and went above and beyond in helping us prepare for the day. The restaurant is an amazing place for a wedding. Everything was very well organized and the staff were lovely. People commented that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. It’s a beautiful building and a hidden gem in the city. Thank you!

J. R. H.

Amazing. I definitely recommend the 5 or 7 course options. They are also very accommodating with food restrictions.

Yigal Achren

Great service! We had a wonderful time for my anniversary and my son’s birthday. Try their tasting menu (7). Thanks e really enjoyed being there. $$$$$ but it worth being there

Jenkins Chan

Amazing meal! We did the 10 course tasting menu and it was fantastic. We each had a different 10 courses. The chef is also able to accomodate multiple food allergies which is great! Highly, highly recommend!!

Mayank Tandon

George is definitely one of the finest places to dine in the city and one that will take your taste buds on a roller coaster. We were lucky enough to try the 10 course tasting menu with the 10 wine pairings and we were in for a surprise. The staff are very knowledgeable with everything on your plate to the wine paired with it. Everyone in Toronto needs to try George at least once. It's truly an ideal place to impress your loved one through a night of dining you both won't forget

Justin Baptiste

Hands down the best restaurant we've been to in Canada. This restaurant should get at least one Michelin star, if not two. The tasting menu with the wine pairing was one of the best culinary experiences we've ever had. Superb!!

Marcia Ashton

The hostess at the reception was lovely, warm and very welcoming. It was lunch time. We asked to sit outside (it rained that morning but stopped completely, was sunny, and no clouds in the sky), but they said no. We insisted, and the waiter sighed, rolled his eyes, and got a table ready outside. Food was good, but overpriced. Rude waiter... it’s unfortunate because the place is gorgeous and the patio is stunning and very pleasant. Toronto does not lack of fabulous restaurants that offer top quality, with top service.

Oguz Sarkut

The food was good and the courtyard was beautiful. What really put this place over the top was Paul's customer service. His recommendations on what to order were definitely on point, and i would come back just to interact with him again. Thanks Paul, would def recommend this place!

Ryan Alafriz

Had the five course tasting menu at George and it was amazing! The ambiance is great and doesn’t feel too formal which is nice. The staff and servers are all very professional.

Kasia M

One of the best restaurant in Toronto. The staff is friendly and attentive. We dined in the patio and enjoyed it. The food quality was so good. It was so delicious and the plates were beautifully presented. I am a picky eater so I ordered from a la carte and loved the meals we ordered. Everything on the plate was so fresh and tasty. Also loved the desserts we ordered. Chocolate and lemon sorbet were one of the best sorbets I have ever had. I will definitely visit dine at this restaurant again.

Peyton Harris

THE. BEST. The beat restaurant in Ontario. The best quality of service, the best quality and craftsmanship of food, the best knowledge of wines and pairing. I am vegetarian and I tell them that then say, bring me whatever the chef wants to prepare tonight and I ALWAYS receive the BEST dining experience. My visits here are among my favourite memories.

Jackie Man

Absolutely amazing! We ordered the 4-course takeout menu and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. They also went out of their way to create a custom menu card for our anniversary which we really appreciated. Thank you so much George! We will definitely be visiting you once the lockdown is over.

Diane Sicsic

Easily in my top 5 restaurants in Toronto. Elevated cuisine, decadent wine pairings, and great service. Never been disappointed at George!

Cihan Oğuzhan

The food and wine pairings were lovely but when I went to George in 2019 for a graduation dinner with some family, it was a bit uncomfortable. We notified the restaurant in advance that some members of our party were on restricted diets for health reasons. Each time the staff returned to the table with a new course, they had forgotten the restrictions and asked for them to be repeated, or they needed to check with the kitchen to ensure all meals were safe to eat. The experience made members of my group feel embarrassed and singled out. Perhaps it was a one-off. I wouldn't recommend against the restaurant, but be mindful if you have restrictions that you may need to repeat yourself.

Raphael Angoluan

Came for my birthday and had the absolute best meal! The restaurant was so nice inside with an intimate feel to it. The seating is comfortable and there's decorative pillows all around. The waiter's were plentiful and all were knowledgeable about the dishes. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu which is different from what is offered a la carte. Every dish was amazing and my husband and I shared everything which meant that we got to try 14 different dishes plus two amuse bouche as well. The sommelier was so knowledgeable about all the wines and had great discriptions for all the different notes and flavors of each. The meals were well plated and everything had a medley of flavors that were just delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions. We'll definitely be back.

Matt Bielaski

We had the lovely Valentine's Day tasting menu. I appreciate the effort put into elegantly plating the takeout in heatable, compostable containers (with a menu and reheating instructions included); this stands out in a period when normally meticulous fine-dining restaurants all-too-often sacrifice their presentation for COVID-era takeout offerings. This diligence and attention to detail carried through in the delightful course combinations. Each course offered a carefully thought-out combination of flavors, marrying top-notch fresh ingredients to impeccable execution. Although we ordered from the meat courses this time, we commend them for making the effort to provide vegetarian options -- and note that the heirloom beets, squash, fennel, and carrots were strong enough to stand as centerpieces for vegetarian courses. I wish I knew what they did to acccentuate the flavor of the carrots... The black cod & saffron pannacotta salad with brussels and the smoked trout were stand-out courses, and of course the lamb, bison, and pork belly were to die for. We will definitely be back for more!

Tarry Phillip

The food was incredible. The wine pairings superb. I am so grateful for the hard work and care that everyone we interacted with demonstrated so that we could enjoy our first evening "out" in so long. If you want to celebrate all that it means to enjoy good food and wine, then George Restaurant should be on the to of your list.

Shahroz Hussain

Given the price and 'reputation', I was greatly disappointed by the food. We had a tasting menu at one visit earlier in the year and another visit for a Christmas party dinner, which had good presentation but the food itself was lacking. The flavours were not married and not seasoned properly. Things were either a little on the saltier or sweeter side. Nothing actually hit the mark. There wasn't one thing that I would say was superb or 'I want to eat that again,' especially given the $$$$ of the meal. In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant based on 2 separate visits with similar food experiences...

Stefan Radovanovic

We came here for our wedding anniversary. We really loved the vibe of the patio - spacious and private! Unfortunately the service was very slow. We weren’t offered water until 20 min into our reservation, we were never asked if we wanted refills for our water or cocktails, and the tasting menu was very slow to arrive - sometimes 30 min between plates. They also confused our order at one point, taking away my partner’s plate just as she was about to eat. They sped up near the end when the restaurant became less busy but we got out of our 8pm reservation at around 11pm. I will say the food was very good but I don’t know if I would return based on the service.

Nelson Chu (tinman0116)

Ordered a 3 course lunch menu, vegetarian for take out. Was pleasantly surprised with the level of depth, texture and flavour while working with avocado (appetizer), tofu (main) and lemon (dessert). Vegetarian meals are often hard to capture well for fine dining as most restaurants stick to pasta only dishes but that is not the case, but they did a phenomenal job. Every meal is well thought out and very delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Twaseen Khandaker

Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The service, the food, our seats, the pace of the tasting menu, the amazing pairings -- everything was impeccable from start to finish. The plates were inventive, beautifully presented but more important than anything else, they were all delicious. What is even more impressive is how well they predicted my preferences! Oh, did I mention we got almost completely different 7-course menus AND pairings? That has never happened in all of the tasting menus I've had and it was amazing. Everything my partner got, I liked less than my own plate. Probably coincidence, but maybe they've got data metrics on this stuff (female vs male preferences??). The one little issue I had with George was our first cocktail upon arrival. They were incredibly overpriced - $9 for half of an Old Fashioned, $18 for the regular sized cocktail. We both got a half size, and it was in a massive cup with a big ice cube with barely an oz. of liquid in the cup. It didn't get cold and the ice cube kept hitting our mouth. Not the best way to serve a half drink. Anyway, everything else more than made up for that but I'm definitely skipping the cocktails next time. Hopefully will return and try the 10 course tasting instead.

Claire Davis

Partner and I got to experience the 10-course tasting menu and my goodness were we ever floored. From beginning to end, each course was fighting to out-do the last. Each plate was meticulously and beautifully assembled. More importantly, the flavors were out of this world. The combinations of contrasting and complimentary flavours were some of the most complex flavours I've tasted. First squab I've ever tried and now I'm hooked. If you're a true foodie and have no restrictions on your food i.e. not picky, I highly recommend this experience. It's hella pricey but well worth its price point. Great for special occasions. I'm still dreaming of this meal even weeks later. Amazing!

Shellen Chak

Came here for our birthdays. Rustic yet elegant decor and seating. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Accommodating celiac was a piece of cake for them - which is something I rarely come across. Every ingredient involved has a part in creating these exquisite unique and very flavourful dishes. In conclusion, if i was rich, I would be here 2 times a week... ate least!

Vanessa Dimmer

Pricey but great food and services

Ritika

I truly enjoyed this place, the food is impressive, plus the bathrooms were clean. It was a little fridgity indoors, so that was not the best. The food serve is excellent also. I will absolutely consider going back once again if I have the chance. Me as well as my pal purchased the salad as well as we were not dissatisfied. My one pointer is to maintain the cool exterior. Cheers!

Natasha Heredia

We had attended a Barolo wine pairing event. It was a tad pricey. But the food was well prepared and delish. We had a 5 course meal I have attached a picture of the main course which was a rack of lamb.

Wes Lawrence

After having a 5 course Non Veg set dinner a few years back, visited again to try this time a 5 course Veg set dinner. Deeply disappointed. It happened to be a special day for me which I had noted in my reservation through th app the restaurant uses but it doesn't appear the staff saw that detail or bothered. Even the New York sour cocktail was really bad. I knew it had egg whites in the mix but it either was a lot or clearly an acquired taste I didn't have. Maybe its a different experience when you come in a group or at least are two of you. If you are alone and going for a $90 set Veg dinner, you may just be in for an expensive education on what not to do. If you are alone and have the option maybe stick with the Non veg set menu. Although my dessert was pretty good.

Rihab Chaieb

Had a great time here for my anniversary. Staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. The Chef's tasting menu was hit or miss for me, but I'm chalking that up to my unsophisticated palate rather than to any shortcoming of George's offerings. Beer offerings could be improved, but wine selection is on point.

Sébastien Nait Bourhim

We had the 7 courses degustation meal with pairing wines. The food is original and we were disappointed with only one plate that they changed for something else. Wines are great and Christina describe them perfectly! Plates are big ! 7 courses is a lot at George. Great experience

Misses G

Below average for its class. Service was so so, Food was nothing special, dishes and cups were out of shape and dirty even after it was changed

Gabby Q

We had a visitor from out of the country whom we were trying to persuade to come to Toronto and we could not have picked a better restaurant. The five course tasting menu was superb. Each of us had our own variation on the featured item from seafood, to foie gras to tenderloin to desert. Each was outstanding. The service was impeccable and the sommelier gave amazing suggestions. A great evening.

Dewey Mai

Attended as part of a work function. Amazing food. I'm not a seafood person but I tried what they made for us and really enjoyed it. Nice and courteous staff.

Julian Huenerfauth

What can I say, its George. If you haven't been, its definitely worth a try. Our go to place for anniversaries and birthdays.

Sihab Mahmud

Upscale without the pretentious vibe. Love! The food will cost you, but it's absolutely delicious. Excellent service and someone to assist you with each part of the experience - from the sommelier to the servers explaining each exquisite dish.

Ilia Tulchinsky

A five course tasting menu with wine pairings for one and a few drinks for the other came up to $490 after a good tip. Not the kind of place I would eat at on the regular, but it was an incredible enough experience for an anniversary. The food was impeccable, as was the service. The presentation was glorious in its complexity; each ingredient, each petal resplendent in it's perfection. I've been been a line cook for most of my twenty working years, so I appreciated things like an even temperature of plate or not seeing a greasy thumbprint along the edge... I can be overly critical and at George I honestly have nothing to say, other than Bravo.

Mary Harden

This is my favorite restaurant. I find myself coming here often and instead of the tasting menu, resorting to my favorite dish, the beef tenderloin. I usually just order the Tuna, Beef, and a dessert. Cannot go wrong with that combo. Edit: I came here again and the waitress today was AMAZING. Service was the best, food was amazing in the 5 course. Wine was on point as well.

Robert Mills

This restaurant is unquestionably one of the best place to eat in the neighborhood. Always when I visit this place I am incredibly satisfied. They maintain their high level service and the topmost level of dishes they offer. You can never go wrong with this place. Highly recommended.

Owen Bennett

Finally I got to try George Restaurant at New Year's Eve, a very special night with the special menu by George. 5 courses set dinner for $175 per person, but end up trying 10 different dishes for 2 people. The service is top notch and professional. Maybe bc of the high hope from the ranking and rating from other yelpers, I also went there with high expectation. The quality of food is good, but not a wow factor. The presentation is great, good for photo taking for sure. The tuna tartare, fogo crab, duck, and chocolate bonet are memorable, but the lamb rack and beef ribeye are better than average, nothing stand out from the main course. Finally, will I go again? Maybe on a special occasion.

It takes a very very very long time to deliver each coarse. For tasting menu, don Alfonso, auberge du pommier are doing much much better

Dave Neige

Amazing food, would recommend checking the place out

Sally Gaspar

My fiancé and I had an absolutely fantastic experience at George tonight. We had the five course tasting menu and each dish was so exquisitely crafted and unique. I particularly loved the rack of lamb as well as the cheese course, consisting of carefully selected cheese from Quebec. I highly recommend splurging on the tasting menu if it is your first visit because the chefs really put out their best, and each course is a surprise and a gift. Service was great and the manager is absolutely lovely. Can't wait to go back!

Marie Ko

Went there for Christmas party. Very upscale dining experience. The servers were well dressed and really humble. The seating wasn’t that comfortable, really congested table spacings. Food was amazing. Very small portion for the price but the taste showed great culinary skill. Service was not consistent. There were significant delays between severing food to each members of the table. Overall, it was great experience. Its more of upscale dining experience and not the food when you visit George.

Andrew Chudnovsky

Amazing 7 course experience. Food and staff were wonderful and the wine pairings were spot on. If you have three hours to spare and want to enjoy a wonderful evening, look no further.

Sanny Lee

Delicious tasting menu!!! A great culinary experience for foodies!!!! Pricey but worth it! Especially for special occasions!!!

Derek Mereweather

Food was very good! Service was uneven and at times delayed. For awareness, 7 course meal took just over 3 hours. Had I known I would not have ordered. For the price point, don’t feel the experience was enough to go back.

Jennifer Pollock

We wanted to start this year's patio season with a bang, so we chose George. The patio was out of this world with a sunken garden section. Lots of room. The last time I was blown away by a patio setting was at a restaurant patio in Hong Kong's the Peak. We chose to do a 7 course chef's tasting menu (times 2). The server told us that each dish would be different. So, the appertizers were phenomenal. For the main, all the proteins were perfectly cooked. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about from this tasting experience was the repetitiveness of some items such as the Foie gras, asparagus, and sauces. Desserts were yummy. The presentations of each plate were artistic. And the service was on point. Most of all, the patio wowed me.

Natacha Dugas

Great tasting menu and amazing service.

Apurva Nataraj

Had the ten courses menu. The duration was 3 hours, food portion was just right. Food quality was not that impressive for the $160 price tag. The thing I didn’t like was the fact they offer completely different dishes for each person. Also the server was different for each course, so they probably didn’t know what course we had before. As a result, my friend had 4 fish courses for the first five, and I had carrot as the side for the first four. The repetitiveness of the courses definitely affected the dining experience negatively.

Beware of surcharges that can be added at this restaurant. Our waiter was not upfront with the charges for truffle, bread and even their tap water. Tap water surcharge we did not see until the end of the bill. If you are going to charge for water, I’d like to be served from the bottle. The truffle addition was glossed over when we were ordering our 7 course tasting menu as follows: “do you like truffle? If so, I can make sure the chef uses some in one of the courses”. The bread: “our chef made some extra sourdough, would you like that to go?” Unlike other top ranked restaurants like Alo, where waiters are very clear about additions like wagyu, details regarding the surcharges were not even mentioned, until we saw them at the end of the bill. At the end of the day, it is not the monetary amount but the principle of how things are done at George that left a sour tone at the end of the meal. I would highly recommend that you stay clear of this restaurant. There are other restaurants with better food and more equitable sales tactics.

Top notch take home experience. Did the tasting course with cheese, brioche, two cocktails. Amazing experience. Great quality food. Travelled well. Good amount. Very well done.

Great service and great wine paring. Sommelier was very knowledgeable with each wine they paired with the course menu. This was the second one time we were there. Enjoyed the flavor of the dishes but a little disappointed with the plating. The layouts look less interesting than the first time we were there. I would still recommend to make a visit there.

Sara Boers

Went to the restaurant with very high expectations unfortunately it did not live up to them. While the presentation was really good, the food lacked flavor and the overall taste was bland. We went for a la carte option and ordered the lobster tartare and rabbit for starters. Lobster was really bland and we could barely taste the lobster, it was mostly vegetables that we could taste. Rabbit was actually really good and cooked perfectly and sauce was flavourful. It took 45 min to bring the first appetizer and another 30 for second. For main we ordered the halibut which was same story as lobster, lacking flavor and was also cold in the middle. Sauce was barely lukewarm. By the time the mains came out we were already waiting for almost 2 hours. We lost the appetite at that point of time and didn't bother with the dessert. Our servers were good and explained the dishes well. They even offered a complimentary dessert when we mentioned about the food being not to our liking. Overall I feel disappointed and didn't have a great experience.

Trang Trizzy

Went here for anniversary - they did such a great job creating a beautiful courtyard outside space. Food is so good, service is amazing ( especially sommelier of the wine pairings. They go above and beyond.

A grand evening at George for a dual birthday celebration at the Chef’s table, where a playful Chef Lorenzo served three of our ten courses, and photobombed us. A perennial favorite and one of Toronto’s top two restaurants. Divine food creations, brilliantly creative flavors, stellar plating that is their hallmark, impeccable warm hospitality. Highest recommendation!

Brian Li

One of the most memorable meals: the food, the win pairing, the service were superb. Very attentive to our tastes and preferences, the 5 course tasting menu hit the mark for both me and my wife for every course and all the dishes between 2 of us were different. Super friendly service and the sommelier, happy to answer some of our newbie wine questions even ones not related to the wines we were tasting. Will definitely be coming back for more.

Les vlogs de Manon

This is what fine dining is supposed to be. The food was amazing, the wine pairings excellent, the service perfect, the atmosphere was great. The evening was so well designed that we adjust forgot the were other tables in the restaurant. The best part was the "double sided tasting menu", where not everyone at the table gets the same tasting menu. This led to sharing and even more variety. They were also able to accommodate multiple different food restrictions perfectly. One of my best ever restaurant experiences.

Francesca Madeleine

Absolutely fantastic experience. We went for my girlfriend's birthday. We had the 10 course tasting menu and every one of them was absolutely divine. The staff were all very friendly and our waiter was so attentive. I very much recommend the George. You will truly feel spoilt.

Habib.

This might just be my favorite restaurant in the world. I’ve had great meals in different countries, but none compare to George. This was our second time having the tasting menu here and it did not disappoint. We had the seven course menu, and each of us had different dishes for every course. I did the wine parings and all of the wines were phenomenal. The sommelier comes to your table and tells you where every wine is from and a little about how it’s made. The cocktails are also great. All of this, surrounded by a lovely setting with great decor and beautiful lighting. The service is also great. I honestly can’t find anything wrong with this restaurant, and will recommend to anyone going to Toronto. I wish I had taken pictures of all the dishes, but I feel that having my phone out would have taken away from the experience.

Experiencing George is like going on vacation in Toronto - going through the different dishes is definitely a wonderful journey. Walking up to George you may not quite be sure of what to expect. However, once you get in you realize this is going to be different. You are immediately whisked away to a true dining experience. Everything was top-class and exquisite. Our waitress for the day was very helpful. She encouraged us to go with the 7 course option as she stated that it was the best bang for your buck. She did not try to "up-sell" us to the 10 course option. She told us that we would certainly have enough by going with the 7 course. I can genuinely say that from start to finish everything was exceptional. There was nothing I felt like was over/under-cooked and the service was beyond belief. We were never made to wait and it was a really great choice for our anniversary. Every aspect of the dinner seemed focus on making your experience completely enjoyable. Everything we tasted was so rich and flavorful, and they were a delight visually (see pictures). It's a place I would definitely return to in order to get a taste of different tastings on offer. We really cannot complain about anything we had and if you are not sure if you should go I would say totally take the plunge and do it. You will not regret it. 100% Recommend it! We don't do wine/alcohol so the whole thing cost us about $375 including tips and everything.

Sam Sgro

We were here for an anniversary dinner after Stage 3 re-opening. All staff and guests had to wear masks in all public areas. Extremely filling vegetarian 5 course to the point where when we weren't able to finish a dish, we had to actually ensure that it was because of our limited appetite and nothing to do with the dish. From this, to their courteous service to wishing us for our anniversary (mentioned during reservation), the attention to detail was evident throught our dining. We absolutely loved it and look forward to celebrating another special ocassion there.

Doug Backwell

Lovely restaurant. I used to live and work in the area, we would always come here for a nice dinner. Great selection of food and wine pairings. Glad they are providing a 4 course meal during lockdown and its very yummy as well.

Lisa Truong

A classic place with great food and romantic vibe. The food looks so simple, but you will taste the difference as soon as you have the first bite. I absolutely love this place.

Mandy Zhang

We had the 7 course meal and felt it was just right. I loved the fact that all 7 of my dishes were different than my partner's dishes so we got to try 14 dishes! Every dish was so delicious! This is a romantic place to bring your date for their birthday or anniversary. Highly recommend it!

Wendy Li

I just had my wedding at GEORGE and it was incredible! I worked with Sonia and she was so helpful and sweet. The server staff was amazing, so attentive and they knew exactly when to serve the next dish or pause for a speech. The venue is gorgeous and their recommended vendors were all amazing. Would highly recommend this venue if you’re looking to get married and don’t want to have to do all of the planning on your own! Thank you Sonia and GEORGE!

Alysa Kim

Just an incredible experience start to finish. Had a 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings and the flavours and colours were mesmerizing. A special occasion restaurant!

Steph I.

We had a wonderful time at George. The food was amazing. The service was great. Our server Rob really made our night that much better. Very knowledgeable in food and wines. The rest of the service was fantastic. It truly is fine dinning. The portions are small however, they flavors are excellent and made with love. If you are going in a date request the both with the curtains and thank me later ;) P.s If you see this Rob I hope to get to try wedding cocktails:)

Anouska Dias

I had my wedding here and it was spectacular. Cannot recommend highly enough. The food was phenomenal (we had a five course menu), the service was amazing, and the co-ordination by Shanna was so wonderfully helpful. It you are looking for a very classy place to have your wedding, this is the place. A number of guests came up and told me that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to, including their own. The venue was very accommodating of my dietary restrictions and made an entirely gluten free menu for me, for the whole celebration.

Madison Maguire

So after years of living in this amazing city, I finally decided to try this place out. Classy, gorgeous, great service. The dessert was amazing! However if you are looking for a special meal like I was...Vegetarian, no fish/seafood...I found it to be a bit underwhelming. I would recommend the place for a gorgeous ambiance and great service...and dessert, but probably not for the “special” food itself. I feel I have had better...scratch that, I know I have had better. Plating though was very tastefully done- see posted pics, they are works of art...my takeaway on this was that the chef was not as comfortable with not “cooking” his food as he should be (example his salads lacked creativity whilst they looked beautiful, they were boring to eat). The cooked dishes were definitely much better but not outstanding. Time to convert to being non-vegetarian or should I give this place another go??

We went there for a dinner date. I indicated it when I booked the table, but there was no indication they received the message. My Seconds dish - duck with aebleskiver was disappointing as the duck meat was rubbery and luke warm. The rest of the meal was delicious and perfectly composed visually and delectable. We got 5 courses tasting menu which were all well explained to us. The sever did not have a name tag and we never learned his name. Overall disappointing for all the hype and $$$$$. Would not go back.

Nicole Moroz

Fantastic service, friendly staff and creative food choices. Went with a friend, and we both had the 7 course tasting menu. While I wasn't a fan of everything (personal preference, the food was great, just not to my taste), overall it was an amazing meal. The wine sommelier was so knowledgeable and very helpful.

Calvin Lakhan

This is my favourite fine dining restaurant in Toronto. It is a bit expensive but for those special celebrations I think it is worth it. One time, we took my mom there for her 75th birthday. As everyone in my family is foodies, I don't make recommendations lightly. My sister is a certified chef, so the bar is set pretty high. Well, my family is still talking to me and everyone is still talking about our experience. Our waiter was great and treated my mom like a queen. He was attentive, appropriately flirty and really made our party that much more wonderful. The food was great. Everyone loved the cornucopia of different taste sensations that each dish brought to our mouths and I love how some dishes are presented as trios, so you get a different experience with the same food. Maybe go during the less busy times of the day, like an early dinner, so you don't have to compete with other diners, as it can get very busy.

Dan Vegas

I went there for my birthday dinner and they had pleasant waiters and the food was delicious! Would recommend, as the prices aren't as expensive as you'd think. People who ate there were wearing all types of clothes, some casual, so I don't think that this is a very high class restaurant. Still amazing though!

Chinmayee

Overall, interesting flavour combinations and nice presentation - held back significantly by speed of service and planning (in my opinion). Food - 3/5 for the price point. We had the seven course tasting menu and all dishes were plated quite nicely. Unfortunately George is not a Michelin starred restaurant so you won’t get that level of food - but it is passable for a tasting menu. Definitely a bit under par for price point - at about $150pp I usually expect more high end ingredients (I.e. wagyu, bluefin, lobster, etc) Service - 5/5 for waiters, 1/5 for timing. Honestly this is no slack to the staff, everyone who waited on us was very friendly and welcoming. The main issue was timing - the seven course menu took over 3.5 hours to complete, with a 45 minute gap between course 3 and course 4. This is especially aggravating due to it being a tasting menu - thus the portions are very small (as they usually are). Honestly God bless our waiter Jacob - he apologized for the wait and they put the drinks on the house to compensate. Please be aware that you will be waiting very long though - the 10 course is supposed to take 4-5 hours to complete. We would highly recommend you get multiple rounds of bread so you don’t starve to death in between courses ($3 each btw).

Cindy Yi

The service and ambiance here are top notch, out of this world phenomenal. You are really treated well from the moment you step into the restaurant and the staff are attentive without hovering. We tried the 7 course tasting menu and the pace of the dishes was done really well. Perfect timing between everything. When you get the tasting menu, the chefs accommodate for every dietary restriction which is so nice. And no one gets the same dish, so you're able to try more dishes. Unfortunately, we thought the food here was only ok....the components of the dish didn't come together well and the flavours didn't marry together to create a tasteful experience on your pallette. Each dish had so much going on. The 7 course taste menu was heavy on the fish (about 3 or 4 dishes were fish)...it would have been nice to have more variety, despite my dietary restrictions. I have had much more flavourful tasting menus that elicited "mouth-gamsms" at cheaper prices then what I had here at George. The a la carte menu looked delicious though so I might consider trying that because there are many great reviews for George so I'm not sure why this was a miss for me.

Albert T

Awesome! We went there for my husband's birthday. We loved the three course tasting lunch menu, chef's signature. The courses are 'surprises' that the waiter describes and explains. Neither of us received the same dish. Taste was delicious! Very flavorfoul food. We had tartare, lamb, steak and amazing desserts. All dishes combined tasty sauces and exotic tastes. Chef was very kind and sent us a complimentary dish. Service was very helpful. We went there with our 4 months old baby and they accomodate everything for our stroller to fit in. Service was friendly, attentive and professional. It was an amazing food experience. Only thing I regret is that we wanted the chef to chat with us for a bit since we were the only ones at the restaurant on a monday at 1:30pm.

Kevin Brannick

My wife and I went to George Restaurant for our 1 year anniversary and had an experience of a lifetime. The food was exquisite and the service was simply outstanding. There was absolutely zero issue with accommodating food preferences, even with the tasting menu! We were both extremely pleased with the restaurant choice and will be absolutely returning in the future.

alvin yeung

A nice package of formal without being pretentious, I had a very enjoyable experience entertaining a client here. The service was extremely friendly and my guests left very contented, which reflected well on me. We tried a number of dishes among the 4 of us and all excelled.

Alan Chan

Definitely embodies the definition of "fine dining". The atmosphere, service, and food perfectly suits those who enjoy upper class establishments. Having not that much experience with the portion sizes in these settings, I did not have a full stomach at the end of the meal. If you want to feel fancy this is a place to do so.

Claire Chen

George is definitely my favorite fine dining in Toronto. It provides consistent high quality and tasty food. And they always made my booking so easy! I have been going with my family who are vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. It is not easy to find a fine dining experience that's accommodating for all. The food was excellent, service was fast and friendly, great selection of wine and drinks. Nothing to complain about.

Sayeed Mojina

Loved it! Amazing birthday dinner. 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Each course got better and better. It's like they were channeling my favourites. Highly recommend.

Mike Salter

Dined here for a business meeting. Food was amazing! It's been a long time since I've visited this restaurant (pre COVID). I appreciate the shorter menu because it made it easier to decide. I also love their wine selection. Our server was also really nice and helpful with the menu. Can't wait to be back!

Caitlin V

We had the most exceptional experience. It was a 7 course tasting menu with outstanding wines to pair with. Each course was unique but all of them were outstanding in their own way. I cannot wait to go back!

Brittany Tom

Went to celebrate a belated bday. We went with the 5 course tasting menu. The food was very creative and tasted great. The service was top notch too. The patio is beautiful and very relaxed atmosphere. The only comment I have about the food is the over use of mint. Mint was in all the dishes, and as I am not a huge fan of mint so for me it ruined the experience a little. The food was still delicious, and I recommend George

Dani Kertesz

Great service, the food was very nice , I enjoyed some of it more than others. At the time we went, with the menu they offered they had a lot of fresh flavour influences and some picked items on the plates. It was a interesting addition to some of the other flavours. But we enjoyed the experience very much !

A

Beautiful and cozy setting at the courtyard. I really need to give credit to their thoughtfulness. Sheepskin on every seat, heater underneath the table, patio gas heater beside every table. Blanket will be provided if you still feel cold. I love the varieties of the tasting menu options. Presentation and plating were quite impressive. Trout and lambs dishes were my favourite dishes. I’m looking forward to go back again after the lockdown ends in Toronto.

Dree W

Amazing 7 course fine dining serve by attentive and professional server Paul. Wine is well paired with every dishes by cheerful Dilan. Serving was reasonably prompt meal after meal with lively young lady (didn’t get her name) introducing the ingredients for each plate served. Overall a positive experience.

Julien Mudry Danisch

The patio is really nice, love the array of plants. Really appreciated the staff being attentive and helping us to get out on time so we could make it to our theater show. We had the vegetarian 5 course which was delicious. We really enjoyed ourselves and recommend it for a special date night ;)

Malek

Really excellent food/service to treat yourself. Did the 7 course tasting and it was very filling. You can't stop eating because it's very delicious.

Lindsay Frasure

A delightful and delicious experience. Beautiful venue and amazing staff. Professional, and very mindful of allergies. My belly is full and I'm happy! Would highly recommend for dinner or an event. The beef tenderloin and dessert were my two favorites!

Ana Guerta

Amazing food. Pacing of the tasting menue felt a bit rushed.

Wendy Gunnoe

Great food, always in my top 3 in Toronto for tasting menu.

M B

Delicious food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Our waitress entered the wrong total when passing me the debit machine ($70 more than the actual total). The machine timed out. The waitress came back and put in the correct amount. It just seemed odd that she didn't acknowledge the error.

David Ma

Overall a nice experience. Service was great, food was good, wines were paired nicely. Only two small issues, cob webs on wrought iron gazebo and price is a bit high. I would expect immaculate conditions at $400+ for a dinner for two.

S G

Excellent food. Each person eats a different meal, creating two completely unique experiences. Highly recommended. Drinks were excellent too.

Paritosh Amburle

Such amazing gelato and service! I called ahead to see if possible to arrange pickup order to be brought to my car, only to get stuck in downpour! When I called to say I arrived but ok to wait for rain to stop, the order was brought to my car - in the rain - by the talented (and clearly very kind) chef! Grazie mille!!! Ps. Added copy of photo from Instagram because the gelato was so tasty we forgot to take a photo!

Nina Bains

The cuisine is good, I would not say that "wow" - but quite good for our city. The only thing I would like to note is that one of the salads was a little sour, so I told the waiter about it, a girl came up to us and apologized, offered to redo the salad, we refused, because, in fact, the bellies were already full, then she said that we would get a discount, for this plus of course. The bill was the average for the city, about the same amount we spent in other establishments. We will definitely come again sometime.

Vanessa Dennies

5 course meal. beautiful space. great service. plenty of great variety. we had fish/vegetarian no meat. great experience. you have to try at least once.

Tom Dean

Great food and service. Nice touch with the couches. Recommend parking in the lot across the street, if street parking make sure to park west of the restaurant.

Dan Peressotti

Amazing experience. Had my birthday dinner here and although is it on pricey side , you get what you pay for. the food is outstanding. Our server was friendly and kept checking on us. I wouldn't come here every weekend, but defiantly on special occasions

Ronnie Patel

Beautiful night, charming service and wonderful meal. Best dinner in the city. Had a lovely romantic meal last month and loved it so much we came back again with friends. Had an even better dinner and a night to remember. So glad Covid is over. Thanks for a delightful and fun evening to Lorenzo and all the great staff.

Stephanie Zheng

The food was outstanding! The taster’s menu was beautifully presented and was absolutely incredible. The foie gras just melted and was probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The rabbit course was unbelievable and then the dessert courses! Oh my goodness - my husband has the cheesecake and I had the olive oil sponge. Both were so decadent. It is definitely a place to return for special occasions.

Peter Rawlings

Celebrated my husband's birthday here and we had a wonderful time. We had the tasting menu, and every single dish was amazing. The service was incredible, and everyone was very attentive. Definitely one of the best restaurants that we've tried in Toronto in a long time. Highly recommended

Adam Black

Our second time there and the 5/7 course menu is amazing. It's pricey but worth it as a special night out.

So happy with our dinner. GREAT evening, quality food, if you want the best, go to GEORGE.

Kaitlyn Zarzour

We sat on the back patio, which was lovely. Felt like a modern secret garden in the middle of downtown. We had the 7 course meal with wine pairings. The food and service were outstanding. The sommelier was very knowledgable and genuinely enjoyed speaking about the wines. My husband and I each received a different meal and pairings, so we were never eating the same thing - gave us lots to talk about! It was a unique and enjoyable experience.

Serge Kanev

It was my birthday and felt I could have a special evening at George with my closest friends. The ambiance was absolutely lovely. The service was on par. The meats were really good and perfectly cooked - but too many flavours in the accompanying parts. Instead of elevating the taste of the meat, they overpowered. Taking something that would be perfect when done simply, into too much all at once. It would take something very special for me to go back. I am giving three stars based on the over complexity of the food, but the wine and ambiance, service were great.

Jeongsun Park

Fantastic venue for small group corporate events, social functions or family get togethers, run by George Brown College and the students in their programs. Really great value for your dollar because of this.

Frederic Burrell

Went in few gastronomic restaurants in France and in Europe. This place was amazing, the waiter Philippe was into it, always around taking care of everything. The 7 main courses with wine was incredible, elaborate complex and a discovery each time. Create an incredible culinary experience. One of the best ! I will go back it’s mandatory

Niro Tham

Food is decent and has bold unique flavors but given the price it's about ok value. Service a bit slow. Waited for more than 40 minutes for the second course to arrive. Tried to ask the waiter if he can speed it up but he said no because there is nothing they can do about the kitchen. A bit odd given the restaurant prizes itself as fine dinning there should be more coordination.

Krystal Obrien

Food are awesome, Fantastic Wine pairing. Can't even think of anything that worth any Star lower than 5!

Veronica Chen

One of the most exquisite dining experiences of my life. It happened to be my birthday so it felt extra special. :) We had the 7 course set menu with wine pairings. The service was outstanding: from the waitress who ensured everything was going smoothly; to the sommelier who explained each wine we tasted in great detail, including the origins and why it was paired with the food; to the kitchen staff that presented each course and explained the dish. The only exception was the hostess who really didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The food was expertly prepared and presented with careful thought to color as well which was a very nice touch to each course.

Casey Borelli

I was disappointed by our experience with George. We ordered their Valentine's day vegetarian tasting menu. The presentation, instructions and packaging (compostable, recyclable) were wonderful and we were excited to sit down for our special, at-home meal. Unfortunately, the pasta course very clearly had meat in it. When I called the restaurant to let them know, the person who answered the phone assured me that there was no meat, only mushrooms. Strange way to address an issue when she is not present, and I'm the one holding a piece of meat on my fork? I responded that no, I was quite sure that there was meat in our food, she said she would check with the kitchen and put me on hold. Again, a strange thing to say - what is she checking exactly? Whether they remember packing the wrong meal into our take out box? A couple minutes later, someone else picked up the phone and asked if they could help me. Again, not a particularly helpful way to address a customer if you have already heard why they called. After I explained the situation again, this second person said they would refund the price of the course, took our name, and hung up. No apology (which goes a long way in customer service). As a vegetarian, it is quite shocking when you go to eat your meal, and there is meat in it. It wasn't only the fact that there was an entire course (which was a substantial part of the meal) that I couldn't eat. It was also the experience of having to call the restaurant to let them know, and dealing with their complete indifference in addressing the error on their part. Although the food was good, we have no motivation to order from or go to George in the future after this experience - who knows what we will get, whether we will be able to eat it, and whether any one from the restaurant will even care.

Pearl N

The chef is incredible at this restaurant. We had the seven course tasting menu and every dish was creative and delicious. We also thought the wait staff was excellent. However, when we arrived, the front desk was super disorganized with the covid vaccination inspection routine which was irritating. The front desk people need a lesson in welcoming patrons.

Richard Hobeiche

George is the kind of place where you can dine and immediately feel that you and your guests will be well looked after. The staff is well versed on the menu and un-intrusive. The Somm was bang on with the pairing selections. The food is something you have to experience for yourself. Chef Lorenzo Loseto and his team consistently produce a tasting menu that thrills the senses. Nom nom.

Mel __

Having been here twice and trying the 5 course and 7 course meals with the wine pairing, I have to say the experience is incredible. It's very expensive but worth the price for the experience. The wine pairings were PERFECT with the food we were served every time. Service is incredible and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this for any special occasion or if you are looking for a unique experience. The food is very intricate but simple focused, fresh and strong flavours.

Brendan Payne

To start off, i usually do not leave reviews if ever but for such a upscale restaurant it has heavily disappointed me. My friends and I decided on each getting a 7 course tasting menu with the recommendation of our server when we originally wanted to order a 10 course tasting menu per pair with a few a la carte menu items (as we wanted some plates that we were sure we would like) The server let us know that if we all ordered the same tasting menu round table, he would be able to accommodate our preferences. I told him only one preference, in my 7 course tasting i wanted a scallop dish. Dish after dish they were all beautifully plated, 3 courses in, the server comes over and tells us that the chef would not be able to accommodate the scallop dish in our tasting menu and offered to serve a few scallops on the side instead, which we gratefully accepted Course after course, dishes were placed in front of us and it seemed never ending. Finally the dessert came and we were full bellies. but a second dessert came and our server told us that one of the courses was compliments of the chef. So smiling we all thanked him and told him to pass it on to the chef. The bill then came to our table, we were all charged for the 10 course tasting meal, we asked our server about this and he said that only a 10 course meal would be able to accommodate our preferences. Now is when im feeling that sour taste in my mouth. I glance at the bill, those scallops which were the only thing that i requested was a surcharge as well. How is upping a 8 person table from a 7 course tasting menu to 10 considered "accommodating preferences"? Thats just you charging us more for wanting those specific dishes Though i got charged more for the 10 course so that we could get accommodated for our preferences, we still got billed more for my ONLY preference, the scallops Now tell me, what is the use of writing down everythings preferences, if you arent going to serve to that specific person what they preferred? Being billed at 20% gratuity, being a $1800 value table, i expected better service and a server not fluffing around and letting us know straight up.

Avishek Somani

Outstanding. Every aspect of our visit was on point. The staff are warm and delivered excellent service. The food is very well executed, top quality and delicious. We ordered the tasting menu and were pleasantly surprised to each receive a different dish each course - this effectively doubled the number of dishes we got to taste and unlike other tasting menus I have experienced where everyone gets the same dish each course. A very nice touch.

Jason J

I wanted something special for my daughter' Birthday on December 18, I could not have think of a better place to order "Secrets of the George Kitchen Gift Box" from George Restaurant! Rebecca was so appreciative and honored to receive the secret boxed products, created by Chef Lorenzo Loseto. Thank You Chef for continuing to amaze us with your creativity.

K. E.

We celebrated our engagement with a 7 course tasting menu and it was phenomenal! So much care and attention was given to each plate and it looked like a work of art! Every plate was delicious, and my favorite was the lobster. The service was superb! I look forward to dining here again.

Brittini

Excellent upscale restaurant with some amazing dishes. The kitchen is the highlight with some very talented cooks. The service is very attentive, but maybe a bit too stiff and would fit better in a 3-star Michelin restaurant.

stephanie M

Tasting menu. Expensive spot but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

Francesca Guida

After this year of isolation and missed holidays it was a perfect Valentines take-out package this evening. I have never had take out this good nor a perfect at-home date with 5 courses. Thank you!

Megan Wiles

We were so pleased to have our wedding at George restaurant. The space and staff helped make planning a COVID-19 wedding such a breeze. There is a beautiful courtyard for an intimate and well ventilated event. Sonia Dhillon in particular helped smooth out the process and was with us every step of the way. We look forward to returning to the restaurant to relive some of the magic during our anniversary dinners at George restaurant. Photo credit to Tracey from Snapful Photography.

Maggie Massalin

Ordered Valentine's delivery. They offered a 5 course tasting menu. Everything arrived early, plating looked beautiful despite transport, and it came with specific and simple reheating instructions for their oven proof serving containers. Felt like we were in the restaurant with minimal effort on our part. Food was cooked perfectly and every course was delicious. Really appreciate what you guys pulled off through a delivery service. If we could rate it higher we would!

J Walsh

They were so delicious. I definitely recommend them. I had the veal parmesan with penna and my husband had the veal sandwich. Very delicious. I have no idea what they did to the fries that came with my husband's sandwich but they were heavenly. Perfect crispness on the outside and fluffy inside. Great timing on bringing out the food and topping up our waters.

Eric Hart

Good staff. Professional. I'm not a big fan of their menu style. It was cool that they had a pre-appetizer which was unique to everyone. I was told the portions were small but they were actually a good size. My martini was great. I think the lentils or whatever it was in my appetizer and entree were not cooked properly because there were hard pieces in my meal and I also felt unwell after eating. Either that or the food doesn't suit me. Either way, I won't return.
