We had a lovely experience overall. Service was top notch and the food was served at just the right pace. The staff and our waiter were attentive and friendly. We ordered the nine course tasting menu which were presented beautifully and creatively. The oyster was a great start and was fried perfectly and blended nicely with the truffle custard. Next was the scallop which was topped with super finely diced apple and cucumbers (I think) - also delicious. Unfortunately, I did not care for the next two dishes, crab porridge (couldn't detect crab and the grains were too hard for me) and nose to tail (just felt too heavy). Next, the Halibut was delicious and delicate. For the Surf and Turf, steak was so tender, plus a few pieces of lobster (which was enough as we were getting full). The desert was a miss and did not stand out for me. I would definitely return to try a different tasting menu after my wallet is healed from the damage :)
Amazing experience. The view is so beautiful, we had the best seat by the window as requested and the customer service is ???????? and their French customer service is just as wonderful if u speak French. We had the venison, the short ribs, skate w octopus and lamb. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We also had vegetarian spring rolls as app they were light and flakey. I've been to other O&b and they never disappoint. The standards are as expected.
I must say this place is hype, very nice view of the downtown Toronto with good food, over the top luxury Rich and elegant décor. BIG Up's
Great restaurant. Food was good and had plenty of unique flavours and creations. The ambiance was great and the service was good. The only thing is the service can be a hit or miss, been here a few times and they have been great and other times they are ok, they never go above and beyond, which restaurants in this price range are usually known for. Otherwise, a great place to dine with a nice view.
Very professional service. High quality food, presentation is amazing. The stunning view open your appetite.
Came here for our anniversary dinner a long time ago but still remember how wonderful the evening was. Beautiful restaurant with a nice view. The food was delicious and we had exceptional service.
It’s really an OK place. If you don’t get to sit beside window, it’s really not worth it. We have heard about the quality of food isn’t so good but still decided to give it a try. It’s very very crowded during summerlicious period, we had to wait at the door for 15mins even we had a reservation ahead. The ambiance is very noisy, and the service was extremely slow. We spent 2hrs there but didn’t really enjoy the whole course.
Visited canoe for my husbands birthday. The service and the food was outstanding. We went at night so weren’t able to see much of the view but would really like to go again for lunch. They accommodated for my dietary needs and brought special dessert for my husbands birthday. Top notch restaurant worth the service, food and ambience
I have been to many of the high end restaurants in Toronto. Canoe, continues to impress. From our first bite 10 years ago to our most recent a few weeks ago this is a must visit for high end contemporary food in toronto.
Been there twice in past few months and as usual, food and service were excellent.
4.5* it really is great food. Well presented and well cooked. The view is amazing! One of the best in the city for a restaurant. The menu doesn’t change very often so a regular won’t get too much variation and it is quite pricey. Service is very good and suits the price.
We went for lunch during winterlicious and loved it! All the dishes were excellent, the fois gras was amazing and the albacore tuna was perfect. Great service and of course the amazing views don’t hurt.
An incredible dining experience and one of the most sought after Summerlicious 2019 restaurants proved to be everything I could have hoped for or imagined. The view of course is spectacular, the service is beyond exceptional and the food well, beautifully presented and plated, every bite an adventure and every dish was delicious. Jeff our waiter was outstanding and funny and made our dining experience unforgettable. Thank you Jeff and thank you to the executive chef and chef de cusine for outdoing yourselves this year. Definitely worth a second visit!
The service at Canoe is great. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable in all the dishes that were served. The food was phenomenal.
Came to canoe for winterlicious to try several different appetizers, main course and desserts with a couple of my friends. The food was absolutely amazing! Portion sizes were a little small, but that is expected when taking advantage of events like winterlicious. Everything from the service, ambiance, food and the breath taking views of Toronto made this dining experience an amazing one to remember! I would definitely come back for a special occasion or night out.
I came to Canoe for lunch and I must say it was wonderful. The table I which I was given was right by the window with a spectacular view. I had the mushroom soup and it was just delicious. I was also given a gluten free option for bread, which was warm yummy corn bread. For my main dish I chose the lamb which honestly just melted in my mouth and did not require a knife. For dessert I had the trio of sorbet which was very refreshing. The whole meal was superb and the service staff was friendly and very attentive. The lunch portions were just perfect. Definitely recommend visiting Canoe.
The best view and the best tasting food and not to forget the best hospitality you get in the entire city. It's with the price you pay. I'll definitely visit again.
For WEDDINGS, the light at this venue is my favourite. Beautiful window light for ceremonies and cocktail hour. Beautiful backlight with gorgeous views and sunsets for reception photos. The service was great, but be aware this is a restaurant and orders are taken individually and prepared like a restaurant......allow for extra time during dinner and speeches. Takes a little longer for perfection, but totally worth it.
Everytime I go there it's an amazing experience. It never disappoints me! Food was to kill, I had to close my eyes while chewing just because it was so tasty! Also our waiter Adam was awesome too! :)
Had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Enjoyed every single course. the wine pairing was generally well done, especially considering it was all local wines. The flavours were complex and well balanced for each dish. Stand outs of the night were the 1. the venison tartare which was nice and smokey balanced well by compressed apples and capers and 2. the main course of trout in watercress and oyster sauce.. the fish was well cooked and complemented beautifully by an intense but non fishy oyster sauce, textured with crunchy fried lettuce and deep fried oysters. View was good although we didn't get the best table. Atmosphere was ok but it was initially a too busy... perhaps could even be described as chaotic. Service wise, our waiter was great but not quite as attentive as many other fine dining restaurants. Eg, we were kept waiting at the reception area while our table was prepared; the wait staff often did not notice when one of us left the table etc. They did however do a good job of accommodating to my dining companion's dairy free diet, which is commendable. Overall, an excellent meal and rates up there as one of the best dining experiences I've had. 4.5 stars.
We have been to Canoe several times and it is always amazing. The quality in preparation in the food, service and of course the view always makes for a great experience. Had the tasting menu with a few cocktails and everything was delicious for our Anniversary.
Too bad I couldn’t take more photos. Try their heritage pork. You get thick slices of pork (Im not sure which park) and crispy pork belly. I honestly ordered it because it was one of their cheaper choices ($42) but was totally satisfied.
Had a wonderful time with my fiance. We requested the 9 course tasting. Servers were very knowledgeable, personable and professional. The wine tasting with each course was a great addition to the whole experience. Overall a great spot both in service and in setting
Lunch
Perfect meal with wonderful view and comfy seating. Everything is tasty and worth to try! Must go place in Toronto!
The thrill of having the city at our feet. The anticipation preceding each course from the tasting menu. The awe before the great creativity required to combine beauty, taste, and textures… The relaxed attitude of attentive staff. That’s why we make it our go-to place for really (really) special occasions.
The food was delicious! Great place for a date or celebration.
This restaurant is really something special. They have every detail of the business perfected. The restaurant itself is beautiful, not to mention the views. Staff are great, really add a big plus to the experience. And the food is otherworldly, every bite leaves you mesmerized.
I was at Canoe for a wedding dinner. The location is extraordinary, the food is top notch and the servers are welcoming and attentive. Excellent location for a special event.
So happy to be back @ Canoe My business started on 54th almost 35 years ago--before Canoe Everyone was so gracious in their welcome as the show will go on and grow again????????
Made our anniversary special. Great view, great service and great food for the price. The only problem we had was that there were bugs and spiders outside by the window we were seated at but definitely not the restaurant’s fault. If we asked them to change seats they most likely would’ve. But it was still a great view so we just let it go.
I went there last night with my friend for summerlious. It seems like the food quality goes down for this event. The service was excellent. They do came to the table several times to refill water and wine. Liquor & wine: the beverage server/bartender gave me suggestion to try Canoe Negroni, totally love it. Dishes: Appetizer: I ordered the asparagus salad, it looks like a bird nest. I even found a small egg hidden inside. Surprising! Main dish: Both my friend's and mine was extreme salty, I cannot even finish it. Beef steak also has too much tendon, hard to cut. We told the server immediately before the dessert came. Dessert: I chose least sweet one in the menu, citrus tart. Taste great, just tart/pie? was hard to separate. Hard to say, it may just did not fit our appetite. But we will not back for the same dish.
Amazing views of the city (restaurant in on the 54th floor). Food was great and the service was very good too.
What can I say? We had the tasting menu and it was wonderful.
First time visiting Canoe - for a wedding. Stunning venue with incredible views. The service was fantastic; staff who enjoy what they're doing, and the food was delicious!
Dinner
The soup tasted really good, and we didn’t order tasting menu, we ordered half dozen oysters, lamb and filet beef. The oysters were really fresh! Very nice experience
Went with my colleagues last night. Awesome food and view!
Amazing view from the 54th floor. Nice desserts, very creative chefs.
Amazing. I went for Winterlicious lunch ... which might be the only time I can afford Canoe, as their regular menu is expensive. The hospitality is excellent - our servers were super friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent too. I had a cream of celery soup, heritage chicken and apple crumble. Everything tasted so interesting - in a great way, and the presentation was fantastic. As one can imagine, the view is beautiful too! Great place for special occasions.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. Most dishes were good, but a bit on the salty side. Service was good and the view of Toronto was spectacular. However, one major issue I had was the pork dish from the tasting menu, it was quite scary to me as the hair of the pig trotter was all sticking up and it was told to eat it.....I tried, but the feeling of pig hair on my tongue was gross. If pork is served with skin on, may be it is a better idea to clean out all the hair?
The current tasting menu is incredible - the pumpkin soup was such a hit. The ice cream sandwich is definitely interesting, starts off salty but then balances out to a muted palate. Most importantly, the night was a lot of fun. Will be back.
This place is an absolute must for Torontonians and tourists alike. The service is impeccable, the food unforgettable, and the views unbeatable. Definitely try and snag a Summerlicious reservation as the value is insane! 10/10 recommend!
We had the tasting menu. The first 3 courses were delicious, very distinctive tastes and textures. All 5 stars. Especially the very cute pumpkin soup The lobsters risone and the fish were too salty. The lobster could have been a 5 stars if it was spoiled by the awful brown sauce. Dear chef, leave the lobster alone, it's fresh and tasty, it doesn't need that over powering brown sauce of yours. 3.5 stars The duck was ok it's tender....again, there's this strange brown sauce around. 4 stars. The ice cream sandwich was horrible. 0 star. They put salt and Lea and Perrin sauce on the biscuits. I had to ask for a sherbet to clear my palette after that. The cake was nice. 3.5 stars The last item was unremarkable. 3 stars.
I took my mom here for Mother's Day. It was a great experience. Canoe was modern fine-dining at its top level! The plates didn't only provide amazing tastes but were also exceptionally visually pleasing. Our server was friendly and caring. I highly recommend visiting this place for special occasions.
Not your average fare. More for people who are looking for complex flavours, great taste, and portions that help you maintain your figure, something that's very popular with the ladies. Not forgetting to mention a great view that's just as good as the CN Tower's 360 restaurant's view, and better food. This place is definitely not for kids 1-7 years old. Excellent waiter service that made it all the more enjoyable.
Tonight we had the best experience visiting Toronto for the first time! Our server Kevin was so genuine, he even wrote us a note with recommendations of where to visit during our stay. He was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended the perfect dishes for our preferences. We will be back, not only for the food but also for the service from Kevin.
This was an excellent find. we were not disappointed. The view is special and the food is exquisite. The waiting staff are amazing and will do anything to please. This is a must for any foodie in Toronto. Would highly recommend the wonderful lamb which simply melts in your mouth.
Came here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend. Requested to be seated next to the window; had a lovely view of the city. Loved how they plated the cake, however they charged us $15 for the plating fee and to keep the cake in the fridge.
My experience at canoe last night was disappointing. First off our waiter was unattentive. felt like I had to chase him down to get a drink. The food was a let down. The best thing I ate all night was the rosemary birch butter which came with the bread. The rest of the meal wasn't good. I ordered the duck for my main. The flavor on the duck was good but overcooked. The duck came with a liver mouse that looked like Pepto mouse, a puree, a cream sauce and a fois gras jus. They should have called the dish duck and baby food. My wife got the turbot. I don't even know where to start on her meal..... it was gross. I think the fact that the restaurant wasn't fully booked on a Saturday is a pretty good sign the quality is slipping. Won't return.
Strong & solid tasting menus. Sit at the chef’s rail for the best seats in the house. Catch the sunset if you can.
Amazing experience as usual. The service and food is like how it was pre-pandemic and in fact better now.
Great staff and service. Had a great time there!
A perennial Toronto favourite. Whether it's lunch, dinner, or a wedding, everytime has been a memorable experience. Always amazing food and impeccable service. And don't forget the incredible city views.
Came here for summerlious, view is nice so make sure you sit by the window, food not so much it's pretty mediocre. As other have said only worth for the atmosphere.
This is a restaurant that lives up to the reputation the food tasted quite well but the foie gras terrine is a must try and quite phenomenal. They also have great customer service and made our anniversary quite memorable. The only downside we had in our experience is that we requested a seat next to a window so that we could enjoy the views but they did not provide us with that when we arrived at first. However, they offered us seating near the windows during our dessert course
I thought I have had good lamb before, then I had the lamb shoulder at Canoe, was blown away by the tenderness and flavor. The view was also excellent.
Great food. Great service. Expensive for small servings but felt full nevertheless
Great food, service and ambience. Will be back for sure.
Went here for my anniversary. Bar has nice views for those who want a quick drink while waiting for a table. Presentation is wonderful here as well. You will not regret this spot.
Everything about this place was amazing. The staff was exceptional, food was beyond excellent, view was spectacular. I wish there was one of these in Columbus, Ohio, where I'm from.
Service
This remains my favourite place in Toronto. Love going here for special occasions and for my partners birthday. We've been to other upscale restaurants in our city, and they generally do not compare. The care and sophistication that goes into each and every item on their menu is second to none. Their combinations of flavour are superb, the atmosphere is amazing and the views are to die for. We recently ate at the 360 restaurant - CN Tower, and while the service and views were exceptional, they did not necessarily compare to Canoe with respect to their menu. Hats off to their old fashioned as well - one of the best in the city. Looking forward to eating here again!
Excellent food and service.. Second to none!
Came here for a work lunch. The ambiance and location are incredible. The staff was amazing as well, completely on top of everything. I ordered a green bean salad and braised beef. Both were delicious. Definitely worth a visit.
This place is definitely NOT worth it. Don’t even consider it. The serving is slow and rude, The waiters are judgmental and racist. The waiter spent minutes joking with white who already finished their dinner, when other racial minority customers including Africans and Asians are waiting to be served. The food are served in very small portion and overpriced a lot. When I’m having a really dissatisfying starter, i’m thinking maybe I will get a nice main course. After all 1000 people rated it with four. But apparently these people are abducted and manipulated by some psychological mechanisms that make them feels like they get what they paid - or at least they feels like they have to rate it well so they are entitled. Don’t question yourself: just confidently rate what you feel. Truth is: it is not a good restaurant let’s fairly give it one star.
Dined at the bar, facing the window, of course. I had the burger sliders and rubarb cheesecake. Both were delicious! Service was fantastic. I highly recommend checking it out if you want a good dining experience with good food, service and spectacular views.
Great view and an amazing menu.
Customer service is always amazing at this restaurant. The chef and staff were accommodating to allergies and food restrictions. Their bar makes delicious cocktails.
The food here is spectacular, no doubt. Environment is great, obviously awesome city views. Service we’ve had here has been hit and miss - sometimes first class, sometimes pretty slow and delayed.
I wish I had 10 of those oysters. The mushroom ice cream was weird..the onion soup was great..just wish it wasn't served in an actual onion.
Amazing views of the city. Perfect for a Romantic date with your love. I came here for my 4th anniversary. Great staff and great atmosphere!
Love Canoe! The food here is top notch as you can always expect the best quality and fresh ingredients paired with immaculate presentation. The cocktails here are also so nice. I've been here a handful of times and the service here is consistently good. It's a nice place located in the TD tower with a stunning view. There's definitely a dress code.
merrily, merrily, merrily you'll all go down the stream, with this pricey menu, in-home or not, dine in can't be fake when you pay this price, sit in or not it's still the experience of "creme de la creme" - w/o the dining, don't rise, the waiter might not sit you, or take a seat. You'll be up Opeongo w/o a paddle, if you don't take the reco or wine of the day, paddle faster, you may empty your pockets. To the Owner: Just because there wasn’t record of my order doesn’t mean I wasn’t there- what makes you think I ordered under my name- “it’s a group tab” since you don’t split bills- I’d probably check under there - A fabulouso rich roll up- I’m sure you can manage- I also don’t use credit so you wouldn’t find my name there, not everyone charges - but I can tell you what I ordered - I had the chicken ???? which I always have because it’s cheap- It’s hard to have anything else since it isn’t cooked to perfection like the tartare which is a tad too “tar” for my liking which my friend had - it’s basically raw. + the sorbet, it’s too tart, I’m not seeing the four star ⭐️ quality you claim to be. I can’t find half the menu since you’ve been doing well since SARS, it seems you have limited selection like your seating, its nice to see you won’t have to be dealing with that anymore. ???? It was a while ago, I wouldn’t shop or serve a resto my $$$ in this, since you seem to be giving the exclusivity to “ppl with masks” without reason. It’s a surprise I could even get a table the mere times I went, I could barely get a chair- it’s nice to see you were doing well given SARS ???? I hope it doesn’t affect your sales too much, I know you don’t “take” everyone’s money ???? ???? ????, good luck! I don’t have time for email, google is easier, it shows the “real review” of a person’s “actual” experience, you can email me otherwise- email provided in google- I can’t imagine what more you’d say. Oct 2/2021
Fantastic view and amazing food, with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Food was perfect, fun, and very Canadian and the wine pairings impeccable. Yes we tried the tasting menu, you should too.
Update: I had the 9 course tasting and it was great! I’ve been here countless times. From a casual lunch to a dinner date to casual dinner with friends, and showing up late night and ordering EVERY SINGLE DESSERT. Canoe never disappoints and it is a must if you are visiting Toronto. This place trumps 360 both in the vibe, views, and the food.
Amazing view, good customer service, but the taste of the food was pretty average, nothing extraordinary. Only Onion soup lived upto the expectation out of 9 courses tasting menu. Too crowded.
Best food I ever had. Appetizer, main course, dessert everything was prepared to perfection. Worth the price.
The view, the food and service is absolutely amazing. A must try restaurant in Toronto.
Excellent choice for a taste of reinvented Canadian cuisine! A little pricey but definitely worth it! If you can, try the tasting menu, it's incredible.
Wonderful service and great food. Not to mention the fantastic views!
One of the best views ever. Modern setting with traditional food. Menu very well executed, but overall played safe. I wish was something unexpected in the flavor profile of the dishes. That said, it was still an amazing restaurant with exception service. Outstanding cocktails
Can't beat the view of the city. Tasting menu is sure to impress.
Have wanted to try out this restaurant for YEARS! We've had friends who have worked there, so we were super excited. My fiance and I both work in the industry so we had high expectations for such a big name restaurant. We attended for the Valentine's menu, but unfortunately left disappointed. For the price point (knowing it would be high) we left feeling some what cheated. Walking in we were greeted by very friendly staff, our server George was also very attentive and friendly. So A+ for service. There was no wine pairings menu offered which sucked, but our drinks were good. I got the canoe reisling and a blood orange cocktail which I really enjoyed and my fiance got 2 glasses of red wine (cannot remember the names). The food was good, I don't want to say it was bad at all. They were accommodating to my nut allergy except at the very last course the gentleman who brought the dessert put the macaron containing almonds in front of me. All good though before I ate it we switched. I got the halibut and my fiance got the filet. They were decent, but nothing to rave about. It just felt like the menu lacked a but in creativity. We would like to try this restaurant again but the Al la carte menu.
While I am frequently here for cocktails and meetups with friends, it's dinner that makes for a special evening. The duck was great. The elk was great. The small plates from the comfort menu (can never go wrong with mac & cheese) were a hit. Service is always bang-on. Always high on my list of recommendations. Try for table 01 for the view of the city and the kitchen!
the foie gras and beef filet are great. And the sides-mushrooms is also good. But we wait too long time for the main courses, I think it is around 20 minutes. What is more, we booked the table long time ago, and I asked for a table near the window, but unfortunately, when we arrived, we did not get the table near the window.Btw, you can get free parking, just ask the front desk before you leave.
We had a very warm welcome and the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Out of luck we were seated in a private area and had a very quiet and intimate dinner. The view of downtown Toronto and the lake was splendid. Coming here on a stormy night is recommended as you see the lightning strike. We tried their set menu and every bite was an explosion of flavours! Wonderful dining experience and pacing overall.
Been here a few times it’s aight. Nothing to really brag home about. Great views and food quality. Menu selection is limited depending on the season and chefs desire to cook dope dishes. Awesome views so always request window seat facing the south west side for the best skyline.
Amazing food, drinks and service. Great place to celebrate something special.
Had their dinner winterlicious. First time here. Came as a family of four. Food was attractive to look at but that's about it. Although my wild boar (entree) melted in my mouth the other three wild boar dishes were either too fatty or over cooked. Inconsistency is the biggest let down here. Second biggest would be the service. I asked three different waiter/waitress to help us for a picture with the night view and all of them said after I finish with "___". When I finally found one who was just chatting at the bar with a colleague, he didn't say anything and just grabbed my phone. He took one picture and looked very disinterested. Handed me the phone and continued to chat with the colleague. What a way to end the evening. Slightly distasteful I would say.
Such an amazing experience last night at Canoe. My sons 12th birthday dinner was a huge success & he was treated to a tour of the kitchen & met with the Chef!!! All the staff were wonderful - thank you Canoe - we'll be back for another awesome meal at table 26 very soon!
The view and staff are equally amazing. I will definitely return to this restaurant.
There's no question that this place has an absolutely spectacular view. It's a perfect spot for a date, or a special dinner with friends or family. The service is incredibly friendly and professional. They really know how to treat you well. One of my friend's meals came right when he left to have a cigarette. Originally they put a top on it to keep it warm, but since it took awhile, they brought it back to the kitchen and made him a new plate on a rush basis. It was completely unnecessary but so kind of them to over that. They have an incredible list of wines that pair well with the food. The waiters/waitresses are well educated on which wines go well with what dishes. The food is also incredible. The presentation, the flavour combinations, the textures...all delicious. A great place for upscale Canadian food.
All the dishes are quite innovative and perfectly executed, and the view from 54th floor is amazing. Four stars because the flavor profile is a bit too strong (think demiglace type of flavors), personally I would prefer a lighter touch.
I totally had fun at this cafe, the food is remarkable, and also the shower rooms were not bad. It was a little chilly inside, really was not the best. The wait is excellent. I will most definitely consider returning once again if I have the opportunity. Me as well as my buddy got the combo as well as we were not dissatisfied. My one idea is to keep the cold exterior. See you all again.!
The service was very good and staff was helpful. I have been to canoe a few times. If the view is top if the world, then food should be too. Sadly that is not the case. Food and flavours can be improved. I find the summerlicious menu at Luma by Oliver and bonaccini is a lot better. I have uploaded pictures of summerlicious 2018 menu with some comments. Disappointed to not see their whisky and scotch selection on menu.
The evening of September 3rd we went to Canoe for dinner expecting a wonderful dinner with fabulous food, unfortunately the opposite occurred. We ordered the Lamb, medium rare the way lamb should be cooked. The food served by Canoe was not edible, well done and there was no way a knife and Fork would cut into the lamb. The portion was at best fit for a child. My salmon was 100% raw in the centre after a consuming say a third of both the above mentioned entries we pointed out to our server Jeff (who is simply amazing and professional). Jeff immediately agreed from viewing both food served was clearly sub-standard and of course did the right thing and did not charge us for both entries. At that point our culinary experience was ruined and we went on to the deserts next. We regularly dine at Toronto’s best restaurants and where shocked with the lack of quality and control provided by Canoe. I do apologize for the one star review however the truth needs to come out, and with your prices we expected way better cuisine then what was served. Yours Truly Mark Warsh
I cane here with my girlfriend for our one year anniversary and everything from the service to the food was spectacular!
Lunch
Food quality and ambience was amazing. View is something that is going to stay for a long time
Spectacular view of Toronto with drinks and/or dinner. For this evening, we decided on the 9-course plan without wine pairing, starting off with one of the best locally baked sourdough, paired with in-house made butter. Drinks did not disappoint and was great to take in with the view and watch time pass as the sun began to set. The official dinner past quite swiftly beginning with the oysters. There's a lot of use of squid ink to darken a few of the dishes. The second dish is the scallop, only by name because the taste of the scallop was overwhelmed by the toppings. The crab porridge was oddly my favourite dish, as it played with various textures and the porridge portion absorbing seafood flavours. The next pork dish was prepared and finished with many hairs remaining on the pork, made this dish unappetizing though the other items on the dish were well executed. The surf and turf was definitely not as advertised with chanterelle and lion's mane mushrooms, they were all white mushrooms. By the time dessert came around we were quite full. The restaurant doesn't have the same energy or vibe as pre-pandemic, but overall, we had a pleasant evening

This is probably one of the best restaurant experiences in Toronto. Me and my wife dinned there as part of her company’s yearly celebration in 2019. The service was great and the food really exceeded expectations. If you’re a tourist, it’s a much better experience than going to CN Tower’s “La Tour”.
Allegedly one of the best restaurants in the city. I beg to differ. The view from one of the highest buildings in Toronto is worth paying a visit but stick to the bar for an overpriced cocktail. Nothing spectacular from anything on the menus. Service is a bit pretentious nor is it effective (never received the app I ordered in the bar and when I moved to the dining room). Worth coming up for the experience but don't get caught up with spending $400+ like I did.
Top tier view from an amazing set of menu items to choose from. The servers were professional and gave a lovely experience for myself and my fellow diners. Our food course came at evenly paced intervals made to perfection.
Best lunch value for Winterlicious in Toronto! Their food was delicious as always, excellent service and the place is very ample with a lot of natural lighting making it that much enjoyable.

Service
Every foodie should experience dining at Canoe at least once. Explosion of flavours with each bite, surprising mix of ingredients, I had the 9 course tasting menu and wanted to lick each plate clean, which of course was not appropriate in such high class place. Beautiful view and though each dish was small, I was satisfyingly full by the end of the meal.
Dinner
Spectacular view, amazing service, interesting flavours and well presented. Perfect place for special occasion. Great culinary experience!
Located on the 54th floor of the TD center in a corner unit which offers an stunning view of Toronto downtown and Toronto central island with a direct look at the CN tower and Rogers Center. Excellent service while we had lunch here. Lunch options are ~$25 CAD ($20 USD) affordable and come with a view. Highly recommend for travelers. I would recommend this over the CN tower observation deck (~$36 CAD and a long line).
Best fine dining restaurant in Toronto with amazing view of the city and the CN tower. Loved the ambience and wine. I tried several appetizers, which were all great, and the steak entrée was amazing.
It was very welcoming with service. The food is delicious.
This restaurant unfortunately has really gone down hill since 5 years + ago, it used to be an exclusive restaurant only for the truly wealthy, but now is catered more to the middle class who want to feel special and "rich" LOL. One person used to be $500-1000, now for a mere $50 you could probably eat here not including alcohol. What a joke, never going back.
This is one of the most acclaimed restaurants of Toronto and the food was spectacular!!! We did have a mistake on the cook of the steak, which they replaced within 2 mins.. literally on the clock, which impressed us even more!!! Definitely going back for the tasting menu now
Great view of the city, food is good not amazing.
Fine dining with a spectacular view. If you need a place to celebrate a special occasion, definitely that would be a place to consider. Not an ordinary place. The food was good, service was impeccable and impressive. Treated really nice by very attentive staff. Did I mentioned the view? Breathtaking. I loved to watch sunset from there.
Staff was great! Beautiful place to enjoy a lovely dinner. Drinks were good. Food was lovely. Beautiful environment! Amazing view of Toronto and CN tower especially in the night
So amazing. This is not one of those high class places that just looks good and taste puzzling. Canoe is actually such a good tasting restaurant!
went for a wedding. delicious food but tiny proportions. has to get McDonald's after
Dinner
Excellent food and service with amazing views. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had in my life. Chef Ron is amazing.
one of Toronto's best... a wonderful menu selection of wine and local meats.. service is also superb. a must try!
Gorgeous views and lovely staff. One of the must visit restaurant in Toronto. Food is okay for winterlicious, half of my filet for the entree was well-done, but can't complain.
Always great food, atmosphere and the view is incredible. We enjoyed the oysters to start. Very fresh and sweet. Then the turbot and the lamb were both tasty and cooked to near perfection. The selection of desserts was excellent. The wine was well paired with our food thanks to the knowledgeable sommelier. Service was very attentive.w
Good quality and service but too expensive, menu is quite limited. Swanky is ok, pretentious is not...
Delicious dishes. Great use of interesting flavouring in the seasoning (juniper butter, earthy notes in both our entrees). Very satisfied by our birthday visit to Canoe for dinner.
Louder and darker then before. Good (but pricy) food, excellent service amazing view. We went for Auberge&Canoe special and appetizer was uninspiring, desert was very, very unusual (chocolate mushrooms). Lobster lasagna was heavenly, veal was good. Wine selection was just ok.
Canoe is a fine dining experience well worth trying. It is located on the 54th floor of the TD Centre overlooking the Toronto Harbour and Islands. Prices are commensurate with this type of establishment and the service coincides with this as well. Remember to tell them you would prefer a table by the window and if this is a special occasion!
I was lucky enough to get a last minute reservation through the OpenTable app my last evening in Toronto. Every part of the experience exceeded my expectations: the food, the view, and the service. Although each course by itself was small, I almost didn't have room for dessert since everything was so filling. Definitely a must visit place!
Tasting menu was not properly executed and not inventive. Some spectacular dishes but others lacked balance or were over cooked. Worth a try but did not live up to its reputation
Great ambiance and food is amazing. Never disappoints
One of the most worthwhile food experiences in Toronto. Ask for a seat by the window when you reserve. They don't advertise it well but they also have a vegetarian version of their tasting menu, and offer it at a reduced price which is lovely.
The restaurant was only offer tasting menu recently, every dish was beautiful and delicious also. The most important part was views of Canoe, looked at Lake Ontaril from windows with your cocktails with your wines. This is the unique attraction of the Canoe restaurant All waiters are male they are enthusiastic. Share with you pictures I took, views, dish and CN Tower. Hi Canoe, thank you very much for everything, we see you next time.
Dine in
The ambience, the view, the wine, the service, and of course the food! Advise: Foie Gras! Take your better half and treat them for a great experience.
I have never written a review before but in this case I felt that I had to. The atmosphere and views are nice but the food and prices are TERRIBLE. Ridiculously bad tasting salads and appetizers. A beet salad, really? My entree was tolerable. But my fiance's entree was almost inedible. Green looking fish... Both the taste and presentation were incredibly unappetizing. The portions were TINY. I was tricked into thinking that this was going to be a good eating experience. I have been to nearly every "upscale" restaurant in the Toronto area and I have NO idea how or why this place gets good reviews... PLEASE AVOID and be prepared to eat somewhere else afterwards.
Had an amazing evening there on the Valentine's Day. Outstanding views with my favorite dessert - Hazelnut Chocolate Torte. Everything is exceptional. Will be back.
It was my first time dining here but I always heard rave reviews from friends. I can gladly confirm that it truly lives up to the hype. Not only were the dishes impeccably flavourful, but the service was excellent and the view was just gorgeous. My friend and I managed to catch golden hour and we were just blown away. Although it is at a higher price point, it is worth it. Canoe is full of substance and charm. It also makes for a good excuse to doll up a little bit. I highly recommend this place.
Beautiful venue, great food, impeccable service! Upscale and perfect for a special occasion. Lunch hour is filled with suits, if you like that kind of crowd.
Wonderful as usual!
I celebrated my nomination this evening in this delicious restaurant. I am glad to say that it was a magnificent evening and the place was clearly one of the reasons for this outstanding evening. The waiters cooperated in a graceful style, the cooking was extremely good and my guests were so happy. We shall surely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
Amazing views, great food and exceptional service. This restaurant deserves to be ranked as one of Canada's top 20. Cant beat outstanding the views of the city at night combined with the quality of food. Best chicken liver I have had. Presentation of the smoked trout was an outstanding visual and sensual experience.

Wow..where do I start! I've had the pleasure of eating at a lot of pretty nice restaurants in Toronto and this is very impressive! Of course the views are gorgeous as it overlooks a beautiful city. But go for the food...the views are just icing! The menu had each plate with a different meat...from lobster to stag (deer) to fish! I went with the duck confit. It was perfect with an explosion of flavors from the sauces etc. I hope I get to go back and highly recommend!

A friend and I ordered the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairings... (160 pp excl tax and tip). I gave it two stars because despite the excellent presentation and decent wine...I was simply underwhelmed by the flavours and tastes. If this was showcasing the best that Canou have then I don't follow what the hype is about. I have had better dining experiences at a quarter of the paycheck :( Service was decent, the wine was good and the view was sublime. But at the end of the day it comes down to the food. Best for a drink and nibbles at the bar, save your dollars.
Great service and food - don’t even need to mention the views. If anyone has been to Aqua Restaurant in Hong Kong, this is very similar!
You probably pay more for the view than the food itself. Taste is only average but not spectacular.
Amazing lunch experience at Canoe. The attire is formal here. Before even tasting the food, you know the experience will be good by having a killer view. The food did not disappoint us. The cure salmon and crab appetizer was so full of flavour and contains some cucumbers in the cabbage wrap to add a surprise to the dish. The Quebec foie gras was another direction of flavourful and fulfilling tastes. The short rib main was very tender and well-balanced. A very good experience in general and will definitely come back. The tiny tiny adjustment I would give to the restaurant is that their butter for bread is whipped a bit too much.
Its delicious and memorable especially if you go with someone special
Great for a date night or client dinner. Amazing views of Toronto from the 54th floor of the TD Towers. Currently offering set menu. My vegetarian choice was very well presented. Certainly a high price point but bottled wines are decently priced.
A+ service A+ ambience, A food. We did the tasting menu, which was a fun experience reminiscing about childhood favorites. The reimagining of ants on a log was a particular highlight. So was the tomato soup!
My girlfriend reserved this restaurant for my birthday. It was a very satisfying experience. The environment is very comfortable and the scenery outside the window is very beautiful. Highly recommended foie gras, the entrance sweet but not greasy。
This experience was amazing. The food was one of the best I had. Yes it might seem pricey, but you won't be disappointed by the quality of the food. Even the cheapest wine is excellent. And we didn't talk about the view on Toronto!! 100% would recommend, will come back again.
As good a tasting menu experience as one can have in Toronto. The service, the food, the presentation and the wine pairings are worth every penny.
Wonderful dining experience of tasting and wine pairing. Land and sea as well as the tarragon dishes were exquisitely favoured. Dairy free adaptation available. View with window seating very memorable. I would visit again.
Great service. Good ambiance. Food wasn't the best tasting.
Great knowledgeable staff with attention to detail. The food was unique as it was amazingly delicious. An art work for both your eyes and your tastebuds. Coupled with amazing views of the Toronto skyline.
Amazing Food, Staff and Views!! Eat here if you can!!
Summerlicious at canoe: salmon, lamb shoulder and panna cotta. Rally like the curry paste came with the lamb. Food was okay, awesome view though.
This is my second time at Canoe and as usual they are constantly amazing me. Great food, great environment! You get to see the scenery of Toronto! Added bonus!
Amazing service, stunning view, and the food was fantastic. Had the tasting menu and not only was it delicious, it left us feeling full. They change their tasting menu up so I'm excited to go again.
Used to be a lot better. Now a money making souless restaurant which still makes decent food, but really miss the old days. I came here for winterlicious 2018. Immediately noticed a huge reduction in the menu offering. Followed by a professional but souless receptionist who clearly did not want to be there. Our server was good when he was around, we had to look for him on a few occasions. Wish they can improve upon.

Best views in town. Classy place for lunch or dinner.
I love this place!Food was really great and the view was nice:)I prefer window seat but I had to sit at the bar cuz it wasn't available at first. However few minutes later(it was time to a dessert) a friendly staff asked me if I want to change my seat when seats there were available. So I could enjoy a nice view! Thank you so much to him!
Food is absolutely exceptional. Very creative menu (especially the tasting menu). An amazing view of the city and of the lake from the 54th floor. Great service. Get your reservation well in advance of your visit and ask to be by the window... And, lastly, bring your wallet... You will pay for the quality.
Compliments to the chef for catering our tasting menu to meet the specific dietary needs of one of our guests. Bravo! Beautiful views and delicious flavours. A wonderful experience!
Great service. Great food. Great view of the city. Portion sizes were a bit small but surprisingly filling, but that's par for the course for a trendy restaurant. Staff was knowledgeable on every dish. High quality Canadian cuisine.
The ambiance, view, service, and most notably the food were all excellent at Canoe. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Make sure you leave room for dessert because their Tarte au sucre is worth the visit alone. It's divine.
Great views and service. Food leaves more to be desired.
Book early. Service is amazing. Food is good too. Downtown view from above is second to CN Tower rotating restaurant. Go for tester menu. A bit expensive, but, I guess you are paying for the experience. Get a voucher for your parking.
Beyond great. We asked for a spot with a view and they delivered, the service was outstanding and well-paced, and the food was incredible. A must in Toronto.
Went here for summerlicious lunch with a group of 6. Everyone left feeling satisfied and full. If you can, try requesting a window table in advance to fully enjoy views from the 54th floor!
I had a business dinner there. Service and ambience is very fine dining. Two of our tasting menu have been not so tasty but everything else was great! We had an awesome evening and would go there again.
I came here to try it during Summerlicious and was blown away. The food (especially the bavette) was amazing and the service was great. They have a gorgeous view of the lake; I actually like the bright and open concept of the restaurant (I find dim places annoying). This place is definitely worth your time and money!
Without a doubt, this establishment has one of the best views in the city, you can see the CN tower, and the vast city below you whilst you look out the glass windows. The service is very friendly and will take the extra measures to insure your maximum enjoyment of the meal. The waiters/waitresses are very well educated as to what the dish is, and will explain what each and every aspect of the dish is, almost like they made it themselves. The food for the most part was delicious & I haven’t a phantom of a clue of what they could do to improve it. This place is great for any formal occasion, like a birthday, date, meetup with friends, etc.
Every time we hear or read comments of how awfully touristy panoramic (usually perched on top of skyscrapers or towers) restaurants are, we get hesitant about the food quality, authenticity, ambiance, etc. And every time it, fortunately, proves to be wrong. Le Jules Verne by the celebrity chef Alain Ducasse (on top of the Eiffel Tower) was great and so was Canoe. From our own observations, Canoe is frequented by, at least, as many city residents as by its visitors. The service was impeccable. Not just great, but the old world's, bygone era's great. Not your ubiquitous 'Hi, I am Todd and I am going to be your waiter tonight", but those servers, garçons and kellners of the distant past who have been plying their trade for decades. We opted for the tasting menu Nostalgia, which reflects on and brings back many a dish served by Canoe throughout its "over 20 years of culinary history". The menu is priced at about 86 USD pp (excluding gratuity and beverages) and consists of 7 courses. The food was truly excellent, inventive, moderately modern but also heavily influenced by the French classical techniques and recipes. The 7 courses are strictly what they are, 7 courses. Many tasting menus do effectively feature additions, such as amuse-bouches, chef's snacks, friandises and gourmandises that come complimentary. Canoe tasting menu is, therefore, a bit on a scarce side, especially considering that out of the 7 courses featured, 3 belong to the dessert section. With that being said, the dining area showcasing the bird's eye breathtaking views of Toronto (try to request a seating by the floor-to-ceiling window) and the beautifully prepared and artistically plated food - fully compensate for everything else. 5 stars. Highly recommended.
Great food, even greater service. Polite, professional and friendly hostesses and wait staff. Exhaustive wine collection. While menu is limited, it's best to do a few things really well. Dessert was quite tasty. Also amazing view. Most people come here for the view, but were they a normal ground level it would be worth coming to.
We went on a weekday evening and it was quite empty. We expected a little more out of the service but we were sat in front of a wall when there were plenty of empty tables with views of the skyline. Also, our dishes were facing away from us and were often hard to reach with how the dishes were placed. There were a couple of other little things regarding service that were surprisingly not on par with restaurants of that level. I am not the type of person that nitpicks like this but with the reputation and price I expected more from that aspect. Especially, as it was not busy at all. The food was great, with the attention to detail playing beautifully in each dish. We had the Ontario burrata and the Quebec fois gras as appetizers, and the Rouen duck and the risoni risotto as mains. The duck and the burratta were the best out of the four dishes we ordered, with the duck really wowing us. The risotto was not very memorable while the fois gras app was interesting but I wouldn’t order them again. It was actually slightly too much food for two, and we’re both eaters. Overall, there were elements that made it a great experience and others that left us disappointed or surprised. It’s a “must-try” in the city because of its mention in so many magazine and food lists but I probably wouldn’t come back.
Just had lunch at canoe. Staff were friendly. Ambiance was good . I had a 3 course and out of 3 I only enjoyed my appetizer which was a green salad. I had a hard time eating my main course and it didn’t taste good at all. The spice was wired and the meat didn’t taste fresh or high quality. I don’t think I would go back .
What a great experience. Beautiful views, and of course amazing food.... seriously I still think about my halibut weeks later. The food is great although portions are quite small. I expect most people would be hungry if the just ordered a main. Be sure to tell them if it's a special occasion when making your reservation, they'll give you a window table.
Service
I had the chef’s tasting menu. This place has a great atmosphere, instagram photo presentation, but lacking the taste. I regret picking the bison over the sable fish. The only thing that impress me was the artichoke foam and the rest is a hit and miss.
Definitely can’t beat the view and the interior is Gorgeous. Food is good although not as good as I expected given the hype. Went for Summerlicous and a bit underwhelmed. I had a lovely asparagus salad, very fresh and light followed by Beef filet and Cheek. Meat was overdone and didn’t find it that flavourful. Devils Food Cake for dessert and the flavours were there, mind you nothing mind blowing and cake wasn’t that chocolatey or moist.
Dishes are fabulous. Very well presented with multi layers of different taste. Service was really good too. The restaurant also has perfect view!
We came here for a birthday and tried the tasting menu with wine pairings. Service was excellent and they were very willing to accommodate us when my girlfriend wasn't sure about trying the tartare that had heart in it by swapping it with another dish for her. The food was excellent and the wine that they chose really complimented it well. We unfortunaly didn't get a seat by the window but could still could the amazing views. Would definitely come back for another special occasion.
Food was excellent and the service was exceptional. The servers were very attentive and responsive to our needs.
Had the tasting menu last night.. the service was impeccable, wine pairing was good.. a little bit disappointed with some of the food, sorry..
Great view and delicious food. I did not like the cold soup we ordered very much, but the rest of the menu was very good.
Amazing view and food. Well worth the price
This restaurant is at high atop the TD bank Tower with a breathtaking view of the city and Lake Ontario. It is a contemporary Canadian cuisine. Beautifully decorated food display and friendly services. Great for business meeting, romantic dinner .If u r looking for a quiet environment, that is it. Parking is not available. The food is ok but not exciting. Each plate is unique and nicely decorated. I am used to european cuisine, therefore Canadian cooking is hardly impressed me. However, I enjoyed very much their dessert, its delicious.
Came here for their summerlicious menu. The food was very good, service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for date night.
Top notch food with high quality ingredients. Presentation is spectacular but all the elements of the plate go together for a seamless feel to the dish. This is a fine dining experience set at the pinnacle of the city with exquisite views. You’re paying for both the views and the food but the food alone makes it worthwhile. The service is stellar; all around this is a place every Torontonian should eat at once in their lifetimes.
The restaurant was only offer tasting menu recently, every dish was beautiful and delicious also. The most important part was views of Canoe, looked at Lake Ontaril from windows with your cocktails with your wines. This is the unique attraction of the Canoe restaurant
Loved the food here!!! There's a nice variety and house specials on the menu. So much to choose from and we definitely over ordered... Generous portions and great experience. Love the relaxing and comfortable dining experience, the staff members are very knowledgeable and explained briefly to us every dish that arrived and what it should go with or avoiding certain condiments..
Just went last night and i had to say this time the tasting menu was a bit disappointed. Most dishes are too salty and greasy. I went Canoe many times in the past and this menu is the worst of all. On the good side, service is good as usual. I suggest to go early like 5pm so you can see the dark blue sky turning into dark. Parking is waived after 5:30pm but the parking office let us go as long as you show him the complimentary card from Canoe. As for food, I suggest to wait for the next menu to come.
Food is special but a little salty and acidic for my taste. Nevertheless it’s a great experience and not to mention the views!
An amazing food experience! Come with an empty stomach and wild imagination for the tasting menu. The staff was amazing as well. Lovely evening up in the sky. ????
Excellent food and service :) Nice views too.
For the most part I love this restaurant. Amazing food (do not go on a Friday or Saturday evening, unless you are a tourist). Probably one of the best views in the city. I have had some of the best food experiences here and sadly one of my worst. Perfect place to go for a week day lunch or drinks after work.
Really great experience ! Amazing point of view on the city, the CN tower in particular. The food is terrific and they have a good selection of Wine. We appreciated the attention for our anniversary dessert.
Located in the heart of Toronto's financial district Canoe is a must visit restaurant. Excellent menu, fantastic service and panoramic views of Toronto. Whether for a business meal, a special family event or celebration Canoe will leave you and your guests raving about the fantastic experience for a long time. The experience is unique to Toronto, whether you are a tourist or Toronto resident Canoe is a MUST visit restaurant.
Service
As always the service at Canoe is top notch and the spectacular view is worth the experience alone. Our cocktails were delicious and the started bread was nice too. We had the nine course tasting menu and although there has been a lot of effort and thought that has gone into each course everything seemed overdone (too much salt, too much sugar, too many purées) We found the food to be too salty and greasy and from the reviews many are saying the same. This is the first time that Canoe has let us down and I sincerely hope they come up with a new tasting menu soon. They may also want to consider going to a 5-7-9 offerings for tasting menus or go back to an actual tasting menu because this was simply too much food… it was a nice course meal. We will be back but the experience has us wanting to explore other tasting menus and we already have our next place picked out.
Beautiful location, the food was amazing. Staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Will for sure recommend this restaurant
i do have to say their cuisine is quite creative. If you haven't tried them I highly recommend. I personally wouldn't visit again though.
Went here for Winterlicious. The food was amazing and the view was stunning.
Top of the TD building; 54th floor; nice view of downtown Toronto. Nice view of the CN Tower. The food is ok. Price is very expensive. Specially the wine. We ordered Kendall Jackson wine which was expensive. At LCBO, you can buy for 18 $. So you are paying for the nice view with a meal
We went for our anniversary and really enjoyed our tasting menu. Great for people that appreciate creative food and don't mind the high price tag.
Really enjoyed the selection of menu items on their most recent tasting menu! It was cohesive and hearty meal. The view and the layout of the restaurant just adds to it all! Looking forward to come back!
Experienced a wonderful lunch at the Canoe; an amazing culinary experience. The food was divine; Atlantic salmon. Atmosphere was excellent. Service… the best. Not to mention a fabulous view. Surprisingly, the bowl/dish the salmon was served in had 3 big chips on the edge of the bowl so, I mentioned it to the waiter. His reply was… that makes it look vintage… wow; his reply astounded me.
Great quality food and service; the smoked trout app was a favourite. Great views too; only negative is that (and it seems this is common from other reviews) it's reeeallly hard to get a window seat.
A legend for a reason. Maybe the best meal I’ve ever had? And what a view. Damn. Worth every dollar.
Made a reservation for Noon and unfortunately remembered 12:30 instead. When we arrived we were told the table was just given away and they usually wait an extra 15 minutes. The host apologized and stated they did have the bar next to the kitchen with two seats. On vacation from NY and wasn't necessary the best dressed for the restaurant. In my opinion the best seats in the house is at the bar. The open kitchen allowed us to view the behind the scene action. The chef did not disappoint. The view out the window was also spetacular, Food was superb. We were there for summerliciois however will definitely be back for the regular menu the next time we are in Toronto. While Micheline stars are not awarded in Toronto, My wife and I walked away debating how many Canoe would receive if it were.
Awesome tasting experience! Every dish was incredible, savoured every bite. We went for the 9 course and it was absolutely delectable. Servers were amazing and super friendly!
Absolutely loved the food and the view! Great selection of food and beverages and great service, and if you get a table by the window, that's like the icing on top of the cake! It's usually pretty pricy but if you avail the winterlicious/summerlicious deals, it is absolutely worth it for a 3 course meal! Make sure to make a reservation before you go because they can't always accomodate walk-ins immediately.
Wonderful experience. The views are to die for, the service is exquisite; but more importantly the food is extraordinary. I had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and every dish was special. Creative but simple in its origin. Filling and at the same time a sensory experience. I left pleased and surprised. The clearest 5 stars in a good while.
If I could afford to eat here all the time, I would. Just phenomenal food and experience. The wine list, the view, the service, the open-concept kitchen, the food, everything was top notch and honestly worth every penny. So accommodating and informative too! Every dish and drink was explained fully from the flavours of the pairings to the backstory of the wine. I cannot wait to come here again!
Canoe was a jaw dropping venue for our recent event. We chose Canoe after having to pivot from our original venue and it was such a good choice. Everything came together seamlessly. The event staff, Jennifer and Natalie were super detail oriented and worked with us on our various requests to put together an incredible day and night. The restaurant and the amazing views were the perfect backdrop for our reception and ceremony. The size was also perfect for our smaller group. Everything was beautiful and the staff and servers like Stephen were lovely. There were some kinks in the beginning and challenges with one staff member during the bar service, but Jennifer and Natalie helped us manage through that. Most importantly, the food for our venue was absolutely perfect and all our guests were so impressed with the presentation, taste and overall ambiance. Overall, Canoe isn't just a great restaurant, but also an amazing venue.
The place was very nice and the food was worth every buck. If you really want a fine dining experience in the city, Canoe is the way to go.
I had the 7 course vegetarian dinner. I enjoyed the mushroom soup and the fresh bread. Overall I thought they could’ve put more effort into the menu. There was a lot of goat cheese and mushroom used repeatedly with minimal flavour profile and the vine ripened tomato dish was disappointing. Great ambience, service and view of course.
Conveniently situated in the downtown core, at the top of the TD building. The south-facing view provides nice scenery while you eat. Tables are nicely spaced out and it doesn’t feel like you’re eating with your neighbours. I had the lamb dish and my fiancée the risotto. Both were superb and the lamb dish included a healthy amount of protein to get you full. Would eat here again!
Requested a reservation for a special evening, and asked for a table with a good view. The review score is primarily for ambience of our table, and view of the city. We were early, and the host or Maitre'd who seated us said he had a table with a great view (he knew better). The host should have just mentioned he didn't have one. Our meals were well presented and tasteful, but portions were small. Our waiter was pleasant and did a good job through the evening. Generally, when there are 4 $$$$ next to a restaurant I have expectations of having a fully satisfying experience. Otherwise, I may as well go to The Keg.
Service was outstanding and wine and food delicious. Tasting menu and expo theme was lots of fun. Can't wait to go back
Such a beautiful venue and food was excellent. Highly recommended. All of the staff were friendly and courteous.
Beautiful ambience, everyone we encountered was extremely friendly which helped make the experience that much better. The food was extremely well made and very delicious. We enjoyed our evening, made some new memories and had a fantastic view of the city the entire time. Thank you to the entire staff, the chefs who prepared our meals and especially our waiter who was diligent, made excellent recommendations and kept our glasses full until the bottle ran out! We'll definitely be back! PS: The Elk Loin is TO DIE FOR! Thanks again and keep up the great work! IG: @m.1554_
Incredible view and attentive service. The food was a delight. Every dish was really well done. Would recommend for a date night since it's quite a romantic atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, caring staff and wonderful food. All of this, 54 floors up with an amazing view of Toronto. A must visit! If you can't get a reservation, go to the bar and have the same experience!
Great view, great food, convince location. A regular day 3-course lunch can cost ~$80-120, I highly recommend booking this place to Toronto Summerlicious and Winterlicious event if you wanna spend less money. Great place for meeting and celebrations .
Have been here a few times, and experience has varied quite a bit. Starting with the food, I've only tried the vegetarian dishes (mushroom soup and a risotto). Choices for non-meat eaters are very limited (3 options on menu), even if you call ahead of time. This isn't the norm of other relatively higher end restaurants I've been so, who can make custom food if you call a day or two in advance. Otherwise, the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Staff has been hit or miss. First time I went the staff was great, very accommodating. The next 2 times I went, staff was a bit on edge. When I went with my family and dressed casually, I recieved a lot help from the staff. The main reason you should go to Canoe is the view - its fantastic. Highly recommend calling in advance and asking for a window table. Overall, the food is decent but the place is somewhat overhyped. The view is great but the staff can be difficult to deal with sometimes.
The atmosphere was great, definitely an amazing view! The food is rather tasty but for the price it doesn't stand out compared to other reputable restaurants in the area. Service was pretty average.
Excellent service, food and ambience. The food is both beautiful to look at and tasty. The view is much nicer in the summer.
Amazing service! Delicious food! Wonderful staff! Great ambiance!
The view is great, the service is sharp, the food is...underwhelming at best. Technically solid for the most part, but *zero* innovation, creativity, anything exciting. When you consider the price point, there's just nothing of interest here. I understand if you want to check out this place out for the view, but the dishes are absolutely basic and not remotely worth the asking price. When a restaurant carries itself as one of the elite fine dining spots in the city, I'm expecting something with a little more creative imagination than a lifeless cube of lamb shoulder that sits next to a small pile of unseasoned peas and two under-done asparagus stalks. On the plus side, the cocktails are reasonably priced (but weak). Overall, just can't recommend.
Obviously Great view, great service and refreshing Menu. The menu changes often, and the raw bar is a must have.
Very enjoyable. Good service, good food, good drink, good atmosphere. Of course you can always say it should be cheaper, but we had a really enjoyable meal. We had the tasting menu and some cocktails.
Came here for an anniversary dinner with the husband. Food and service was amazing and the view was perfect. The night was fantastic but be prepared to pay a decent amount for your perfect evening. I would eat here everyday if money was no object!
Dine in
Beautiful view and place to have dinner. East and west coast platter has great array of seafood. Other mains are good, but not mind blowing for price point
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Food was amazing. Staff was great.
The food was delicious. Got the winterlicious tasting menu. The different combination of flavours used in each dish was worked perfectly. The service and ambiance is what to expect from a place like this.
In Canoe I made the appointment two weeks in advance and called a week before the appointment date to make sure I got a seat at the window. The frustrating thing is that when you arrive on time the receptionist will tell you that they can't guarantee you a seat by the window. Today is a very important day for me. I just decided to make an appointment for my girlfriend's birthday. The food here doesn't appeal to me. The only purpose is the downtown views. The seafood platter as a whole felt too ordinary, without any surprises. The testing menu includes foie gras, which I also think is very general. I didn't even finish the last two desserts, not because I was full, but because they tasted really bad. There was a little too much peanut powder and the apple pie was too sweet. To sum up the dining experience, the view is worth five stars, but there's a very good chance you won't be able to sit by the window, even if you call ahead. The dishes were very average, and some dishes were even a little hard to understand the creativity of the chef. The service is three stars, after all, the food is not expensive, so you can't ask for more. Hopefully the owner of the restaurant will spend more effort on improving the quality of the meal and not always paying for Google ratings, which will only help you score well, but word of mouth is in the mind of every person who tries Canoe.
Great atmosphere, and one of the best views of any restaurant I've ever been to. I came here for summerlicious 2017. My biggest complaint is that I would like to see a larger range of foods on the menu to order from. My salad was an okay starter dish but the food got really special when it got to the entree. I ordered the pork belly; which was cooked to perfection and came with torched lettuce that was delicious. The desert was also very tasty. Where this restaurant really shines is its service. The waiters are all very polite and quick to serve us our meal. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here. 4/5
Exceeded my expectations. Service was spectacular. Wow what an experience! Highly recommend the tasting menu ????????
We tried Canoe tasting menus and I love all of the foods and deserts. Great and amazing view to downtown Toronto and very polite and kindly staff.
5-stars for the view 4-stars for the food 1-star for the service This restaurant is supposed to be a high end restaurant providing top end food and a luxurious experience; however, I didn’t feel that. I walked into Canoe with a box of cake, because, we were hosting a special birthday. The first thing that happened was an employee walking up to me and telling me that there is a $12 per person plating fee, without even welcoming me (that’s $85 for a table of 7). All that while the restaurant doesn’t even even offer cake. We offered to cut our own cake and serve ourselves, but the waiter insisted on the fee. Accordingly, we decided to just order dessert, instead of double paying for our cake. Once we settled, some of us decided to order soup before deciding on the main dish because we were extremely hungry. Yet, we were informed that there is a “system” in place where the chef prefers us ordering the main dish and soup at the same time, and were advised to take more time to decide on the main dish. I informed the waiter that this is not what I prefer but heard the same thing again. Nonetheless, I was able to order the soup alone at first after indicating that I don’t mind waiting for my main dish. Luxury is about what I as a customer prefer not what the chef or the restaurant prefers. Finally, when we ordered dessert, all we got was a candle stuck to the dessert plate for the “birthday”. The view was amazing, but I’d rather spend my time at other places and get actual luxury service the matches the quality of the food. If your food quality is good and you’re confident about it, you don’t need to force customers to either buy your desserts or pay the same price without trying it.
Fantastic food, and the best view a restaurant can offer in Toronto.
Booked a dinner on a Saturday night. Service was awesome, everyone was very nice and the atmosphere was good too. The place wasn’t that crowded and there was a nice distance between tables so it’s easy to talk amongst yourselves haha Best appetizer was the venison and sweetbreads. We had the fillet which was super tender. The mushroom risotto was super creamy and personally the best dish of the night in my opinion. Sadly the pork jowl contained too much fat in it, it would’ve been great otherwise though. We mentioned it to our waitress because my mom couldn’t finish the plate and they took care of it for us so kudos to them :) For desserts, we had the honey cake and apple pie. Apple pie was more of pastry and it was amazing, it’s honestly like what a child would love for dessert and I’m not complaining haha Would honestly rate 3.5 in terms of food and value but good service and ambience so 4 it is!
Great food, environment, service and view of the city was to die for... Desert could have been better! We got the tasting menu, and it was totally worth it! I asked for the seafood menu (I don't eat meat) and they were able to adjust as needed. Their cocktails were great too! Will come back!
Excellent and subtle combinations of nicely-plated ingredients that we hadn't experienced elsewhere. Seafood very fresh. Service was generally very good, although for some reason we were not advised of the day's specials. A bit noisy at times, as the large room does not have any acoustic dampening. Open kitchen style. Would certainly return.
Amazing! My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and we have the Winterlicious menu. The food was absolutely amazing. We were blown away by the taste and the presentation. The view was great too. It's VERY expensive though, I wish we could go here all the time. You will not be disappointed.
This place was beautiful, the food is sumptuous and the atmosphere was sky high, my girlfriend had the lamb and she said it melted like butter #summerliscious
The team at O&B continues to hit it out of the park. The 9 course tasting menu ($155/person) is too much food; but that’s a first world ‘problem”! Each dish is impeccable and in many ways a relative bargain. The dishes were flavour explosions, with complexity and depth few other restaurants can match. The only miss was the ice cream sandwich; the ‘cookies’ were so over salted they were inedible…but that’s the beauty of a tasting menu. It doesn’t matter if you miss a dish. The kitchen team delivered a well timed and smooth flow of dishes. And of course the service was flawless; lead waiter, sommelier on wine pairings, and at least 4 different plate runners; all taking time to talk, explain and discuss if required; a real pleasure. A great location, world class view of the city….and a restaurant to match.
Went there for anniversary dinner. We asked for window table a week ahead and confirmed and mentioned its our anniversary but once we got there they had given us another table. We asked for original table and the lady who received us at the front was not happy about it. Our server was so rude and pretentious. It seemed like the lady had put in bad words from before. We had a four course meal which was great! It would have really been a great experience if staff were more positive and service oriented.
Appetizer was amazing. As for the main I had to dig it in to find the meat. Steak was not very flavourful unfortunately. Therefore, not worth the price. Desert was ok, but could have been better. Beautiful view. Overall, service was good.
Wonderful view, excellent service and nice food! will come back soon!
Great view, amazing ambiance, and service was great. However, the food definitely under delivered (it wasn’t bad, just not as good as the view).
Canoe never disapoints. The service is always on point and attentive, plating and venue spectacular, and the food is some of the best in country. I love their new tasting menu with wine pairing, especially how they weave in some Canadian wines to celebrate local products. If ever Michelin makes its way to Canada, I wouldn't be surprised to see Canoe land at least one, maybe two, stars.
Sadly my visit to #canoerestaurant was lack luster; see photo. Atop the 54 story #TD Tower in downtown #Toronto the 20+ year old establishment was unable to live up to its reputation. The decor bland and muddy saddled with an open atmosphere giving dinners the impossible task of hearing their company let alone the wait staff; who were by far the best part of the experience. Stringy duck Terrine, chewy pork tenderloin, and smores. If you don't care don't cook. Smores deconstructed for the "win". No graham crumble...? Fine. #Summerlicious #TO we're not off to the best start but I'm happy #Canoe wasn't the finish line. #food #review #averagemikefoodcritic
Not a place for me to come often but once in a while I like to show up for special occasions. Took my newly married wife here for the first time and had a blast. Canoe always provides great service and a great view. The food is fun and creative and interestingly intricate in taste, texture, and presentation. I love the locally sourced ingredients and the consistency of the cooking every time. I ordered the bison tartar, sweetbread, elk, and pigeon. Really well done. Really enjoyed the experience.
Very posh setting. Nice place to come once in a while for special occasions . Top notch service with great views of the city. Food is 5 stars. The presentation of the food is like art.
Presentation was very very nice. Service was very good. We sat by the window and the view was amazing. Had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The food was pretty good and the wines were good and went perfectly with each respective meal.
First time we came to celebrate our anniversary, everything from food to service was excellent! We specifically love the tarragon dish so we decided to come back for my birthday. We got the last seating at 9:30, food was good but tarragon was a bit disappointing. It started melting before we even get to taste. Service was disappointing as well, after we got the chocolate cake desert the server rushed us out. He was asking if we wanted to pack the petite fours to go instead of dining in which threw us off. We wanted to get some pictures before we go so we grabbed one of the servers to ask if he could help us take some. His words “Um, I could take a couple”, he said it with some attitude. Also, everything we wanted was sold out.
Completely disappointed about our experience as we came to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. I had made reservations since it was a special event, which when we arrived at our table, they even had a nice sign saying Happy Birthday. We started the night off with drinks and an appetizer. Our server did not come back for awhile which we didn’t notice until about 40 mins had passed and we started to get hungry. Another waiter approached our table and asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. We had mentioned we were still waiting for our waiter to come back and order our mains. He replied “Oh, he told me you didn’t want any mains.” Which we replied, “we never said that or did he say he was leaving”. He then left which then shortly after the manager came over and apologized about the confusion and said “the kitchen was now closed but could offer us desserts.” It was then 9:45pm, which is a bit early on a Saturday night however we didn’t have a choice to order. We declined desserts as we were hungry and left to go somewhere else even though reservations were made here. We were expecting to have a different experience and upset to have had to leave a birthday dinner without eating. We’re very surprised by how poor the service was given the reviews & ratings.
Ever since I have been to Canoe, now I can understand why this restaurant is too 10 in downtown toronto. Very good services, classy and view is amazing. If you go there by 7:30pm, start from the appetizer to dessert, you will be able to enjoy view from day to night. You must reserve before you go there, because it is always full. Foods are pricey but very delicious. Good to visit with friends and for date. I will go again for special occasions.
You're paying for the view, but it is a pretty good view. The food was very good (but not exceptional) with the exception of the deserts which were a bit of a let down. I went for an early dinner, and I'd highly recommend going early so that you get to enjoy the view with at much daylight as possible. This is assuming, of course, that you get a table with a view. Without the view, I'm not sure this is worth it just for the food. I had the fall/harvest tasting menu (October 2018) with the recommended wine pairings. Up until deserts the food was very, very good. Not 19/20 good, but very nice. The deserts were slightly less enjoyable, with some very experimental combinations of flavours that didn't really work for me. This made for a slightly disappointing end to and otherwise enjoyable dinner. Service was generally very good, but here being early was also helpful. As the restaurant filled up, the staff was certainly getting busier and while the service remained good, it naturally wasn't as great as it was when the restaurant was less full. The prices are definitively higher than the quality of the food itself would call for, so this is really down to how much you value the view
Good restaurant, great view. We were in a private room. The view was great, the decor was bland, the service was very good (didn't notice them but we had everything we needed at the right time). After reading a lot of very good reviews about the food, I thought it was good, but not exceptional. I am used to very creative restaurants in Montreal with new intriguing flavours. Canoe was very good, but more straightforward and traditional. Good for a solid business dinner with a great view, but wouldn't go back - many more places worth exploring.
They really are creating an experience, not just a meal. The food, ambiance , service at this restaurant is stellar. The menu has a wide selection of very tasty food that is sure to suit everyone's palates and preferences, and the service is very professional- will definitely go back
Great friends, terrific views, excellent foods, impeccable service.
Unbelievable is the only word to explain this place. The views were amazing and the food is delicious.
We went for our date night and it was really nice. My husband surprised me. Really nice view. Great food. Not for vegetarians. They have couple items like risotto (which was perfect)but not in wide range. Will go back for special occasions. $$$$
This experience was amazing Jeff our server knew everything that had to do with food and wine! He was friendly the food was fantastic and they have their own whiskey! It was a once in a lifetime experience and I'm so glad we got to go..... thank you everyone for an amazing night out and what a view! We had the 9 course tasting with wine pairing. I highly recommend!!!
I went to Canoe for a birthday dinner with my Girlfriend and the experience couldn't have been better! We had the vegetarian tasting menu, and every dish was incredible. The food was delicious and immaculately plated, the wine pairings were thoughtfully curated and worked well with each plate, and the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. It was easily the best dining experience I've had in Toronto
I had summerlicious in Canoe and the food was awesome. I had old fashioned and it was one of my favorite drinks ever. Trust me i had old fashioned a lot.
Celebrated my sister's birthday here and we had a wonderful time. The food was amazing, the wine pairings excellent, the service perfect, the atmosphere was great. Loved every dish that we were served. Super friendly service and the sommelier, Will definitely be coming back for more.

Amazing. Rich people food. Decorative, and exquisite taste. The Boar Sandwich is complex. Elaborate, and savory. The Duck comes with sausage, and has ingredients I don't know the compositions of.
Been here a few times now and I've always had a great time. For better value go for lunch. Menu is slightly more affordable plus you can actually see the city beneath. Food is excellent (new items excellently made). Service is almost perfect every time (respectful and not pretentious). Decor is comfortable and reasonably stylish.
Great venue and most of the staff is very friendly. However, I had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with a male waiter. I simply asked earlier at the front desk if my date and I could get the window seats and we’re told that it’s on a first come first serve basis. This was fine and the place was busy. Then we got our seats and the a male waiter greeted us. We told him we were vegetarian and would like a vegetarian menu (as we had called earlier to confirm). He told us we had two options but with a very bad tone. We simply thought we heard it wrong and maybe he’s having a tough day. However, nearing the end of the night I asked our assigned male waiter if we could get those seats as some of them were empty and he said He said he would only get us those two seats if I buy dessert. Which took me off guard. Then as he allowed us to sit there I had to move all of our cutlery and water/wine glasses to the new table as he would not. I mean I always tip well and have greeted him with courtesy but why is there a need for such rude behaviour in front of my date? I had a great experience with another waitress before as I take all of my dates there but this gentleman simply ruined our dinner.
Went to Canoe for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend a week ago. Great space, warm and very inviting, apparently has great views (unfortunately was super foggy the night went). Overall an nice experience but overpriced in my opinion. Had their tasting menu $115 and wine pairing $60. Wine pairing was totally worth it and was our favourite part of the entire meal. Honestly though, it's way too overpriced for the quality and quantity of the dishes. Out of the 8 dishes there was only one dish that really made an impression - the onion soup. It was creamy, flavourful, and matched perfectly well with the wine pairing. While all the plates were presented well, unfortunately the flavour profiles of the other dishes fell quite short. The sommelier was amazing and super knowledgeable. I really enjoyed his explanations and wine gems. The service overall was pretty good. However they placed a wine bucket right beside our table and it was rather annoying having the servers consistently walking between our table to grab the bottles. I would imagine it would be better to place the wine cooler right beside the table they're serving. Frankly it ruined the ambiance quite a bit.

4/5 stars because the presentation looked better than the food actually tasted. If you’re looking for something satisfying, just go to your local burrito joint. Neat view though
Had my birthday dinner here, it was awesome. View was spectacular. Food was delicious. A bit pricey, but is expected from this caliber of restaurant. Will definitely be back
Had a lovely night at Canoe. My first time but won’t be my last. View was gorgeous. We had the 9 course tasting menu. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was very friendly. Overall a wonderful fine dining experience.
I went for Winterlicious and had a fantastic meal. I had green bean salad, tender Alberta beef and apple cheesecake for dessert. The view is stunning and the staff were friendly and professional. The decor is a little dated and should be updated especially for an upscale restaurant.
Exquisite service and delicious fare. The views are unbelievable!
View is great no doubt about that. Food is decent, but you would expect something spectacular with that price tag. Service is okay-ish, still I expect a bit more.
Highly recommend coming to canoe for their tasting menu. One of the best meals we have ever had, the service was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and wine, it was nice seeing a restaurant try to use as many local wines for the pairings. Truly enjoyed ourselves for my birthday dinner.
Had a wonderful experience at Canoe this evening. We were celebrating my birthday tonight and our server Steven did an outstanding job and all of the staff was fantastic. Steve is funny, friendly and extremely knowledgeable . The food was phenomenal. We had 9 course tasting menu, which was very flavourful. The oyster was cooked to perfection and the main course and morel risoni was an wow factor. Excellent! Highly recommend!
The view and our waiter were amazing! The cocktails were delicious.
Posting this review late, as I ate here over the summer. Great Food. Great Service. Great View. Highly Recommend!
Amazing food! Amazing views! Amazing staff! Pricey but worth it. I would skip the set menu next time and just do a la carte This is fine dining don’t expect huge portions
The portions are really small. I was able to get full by drinking tons of water and eating a lot of the bread. The service is fantastic, the view is beautiful and the food tastes good for the most part. It's just a real shame it's so expensive and the portions are insanely tiny. Go here if you want to impress a date, otherwise why bother?
Honestly too expensive but I guess we pay the view. And also too noisy for an expensive restaurant. Food was good though. :) I can recommend the Foie gras and the duck (omg...)
Anything with a great view to the city is going to automatically deserve points. Staff were very welcoming, organized and though at times slightly out of focus. (Maybe just the day I went) but not really anything that is overly concerning. Food was great, our servers were just as knowledgable about their food. There is quite a bit of a wait time between each meal, but understandable due to the amount of people in that evening. Great little spot in the city!
Incredible views, exemplary service, and delicious food. Recommend the tasting menu with wine pairing for a great experience.
Nice experience, excellent view, but not really a great place for vegeterians or people with gluten allergy. Not many options available on the menu.
Went to Canoe today to celebrate our vacation in Toronto, ordered steak tartare and maple cure salmon as starters, arctic char and bc halibut as mains. Steak tartare tasted great and lovely. However, the hard cinnamon bits that wasn’t supposed to be in the maple cured salmon dish has damaged my tooth filling significantly. Had to run to the toilet to check if my tooth was okay. Not impressed at all as I will need an emergency dental procedure once I’m back in the UK and it’s probably going to cost at least £200 (UK dental is expensive.) Careless and reckless food prep has caused unnecessary dental procedure as well as a vacation nightmare. Hugely disappointing as Canoe is a fine-dining restaurant. Never going back again.
The food was amazing. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. I was told about the bison steak special, I'm never eating cow steaks again. My wife had the vegetarian risotto. We both had their take on the classic butter tart which was delicious. It was pricey, but you get what you pay for. We will go back again.
Lunch
Amazing experience dining at Canoe. The location is absolutely stunning and the food is just as great. I highly recommend having drinks or dinner as we enjoyed both!
Outstanding cocktail bar with a great view. Very friendly service. Snacks accompanying the drinks were very delicious. Unfortunately we did not have dinner there. Was told that the restaurant is of equally high quality. Enjoy.
Raw bar, lamb, mushroom soup, and the rhubarb dessert is a proper meal
Service
Simply put, the best restaurant that I have ever been to. Bypasses gimmick or surface theme for authentically high end, impactful fine dining.
The decor was beautiful. It was my bday. I thought they would a cake out for me, but they didn't. I had elk for dinner. It was just ok. I think it needs more taste. I had one big scallop for appetiser. To be honest, that tasted good but it was not worth $26. My first dessert was a disaster. It was this soft cake foam with ice cream and seaweed. It did not taste well. Some things should not be mixed. Anyway my experience may be different as yours, so have fun.
Had an amazing experience last night. First time visit. Food was very delicious and described. I felt. Staff go above and beyond for the best experience. Their summerlicious menu was worth every penny. Thank you for making my partner and I's anniversary a special one!
Good, consistent food without being spectacular. I had the lamb which was cooked very well but the bread was middling at best (and so it was surprising that the basics weren't covered well). Given the upscale nature of this place, you expect everything to be a bit closer to perfection.
Celebrated our anniversary here and the ambiance and food was excellent. The waiter was nice to offer tasters for the different wines. It's on the pricier side, but worth going for special occasion. We went on a weekend so it was full house.
Atmosphere 4/5, food 4/5, service 4/5, views 6/5. Came here for summerlicious - not sure if it was worth the price.
Great View and ambience. We tried the winterlicious menu and food was good, however not much of a choice for vegetarian main dish besides pasta. The service was not the best, the server made a mix up and did not communicate with the kitchen to prepare our main. We were delayed by over an hour until we tried to look for the server to get us our main. The server did apologize for the error and we can only hope this does not reoccur. The restaurant did not live up to its reputation with regards to food choices and service level.
One of a kind view. Small but delicious portions. Great wine selection. Attentive staff.
Went for winterlicious in 2019 and it was amazing! The food was outstanding, the service was excellent and the signature cocktails were exquisite. The views were great too, you can see the whole city from up there. I’d highly recommend for a more upscale dinner. The place was packed considering our reservation was on a Monday night at 9pm.
Very nice location and the service was excellent. My personal opinion is the food was mediocre and the portions were way too small given their price. I had to eat again afterwards and I am not even a particularly big person. I would go for the ambience but don't expect mind blowing cuisine. This is Toronto cuisine defined, over priced and underwhelming.
I went here about three years ago for my partner’s birthday and this place is absolutely amazing. From the beautiful view of Toronto, the service, to the presentation and taste of their food... I would say it was worth the price. I had foie gras for the first time as an appetizer and I was a bit hesitant on trying it; however, it was so, so good. I don’t remember what I had as a main but that was incredibly delicious as well, and a bottle of rosé was tasty and sit just right with the entire meal. We were here for quite some time and we were able to watch the sunset and see the lights turn on throughout the city — the view was perfect. I would highly recommend going here for a special occasion and try some fine-dining in the city. I am definitely going back!
Very pleasant spot to have lunch downtown Toronto. Service was excellent and appetizers and main courses were delicious. Dessert could have been better.
Great food. Amazing views. Amazing service. Super great experience! Can't wait to come back. I wish I had 10 of those oysters. The mushroom ice cream was weird..the onion soup was great..just wish it wasn't served in an actual onion.
delicious coffee and the nicest server I ever met.
Great food. Amazing views. Amazing service.
I went there to celebrate mother's day at dinner time. The view is beautiful at sunset. I would have given it a 5 stars if the service was better. Our waiter acted like he was just doing his job and nothing else. Also the food is good but not much variety. I would go again for the view and if we got served by a different person.
great experience, view and service.

The best view in the city! Sure looking out the 54th floor onto Toronto below is nice, but I meant the kitchen counter seats that look into Chef Ron’s kitchen and all the amazing things happening to bring your meal to the plate! I’ve honestly had a love hate relationship with Canoe over the years, for various reasons, but I can honestly say the last couple years, every experience has been stellar! Recently renovated to look the best it’s ever been, the real star is all those amazing dishes coming out of the kitchen. From your first bite to the last, and everything in between, your culinary journey at Canoe will have you longing to return to see what the team comes up with next! I can honestly say their tasting menu continues to be one of the best around. Chef Ron and his team are continually finding ways to use groundbreaking culinary techniques along with sustainable Canadian ingredients to bring you a unique experience unlike any other in the city! Their weekend takeout menu, Canoe at Home is also another great experience and way for diners to help support the team continue to create masterpieces! It’s definitely worth a try, caman… You deserve it! And yeah, then there’s that view out onto Lake Ontario and the CN Tower too! Definitely one of our faves and are eagerly awaiting the day when we can take that elevator ride up to the 54th floor once again! (For both views!)
Been here a few times, the great food and amazing view never disappointed me.
The view, ambience and food were all excellent but the service offered by Stephen elevated this to a World class dinner.
Service
Great view, service is fast and courteous, and food is wonderful.

Visited this restaurant a while ago. Book reservations a head for a window seat. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday night. When you first enter there's coat check. The hostess and staffs were really friendly. We ordered the foie gras, seafood platter and some steak dish. The foie gras was pretty good. The steak was ok. The seafood platter was decent. Although the oysters were provided by oyster boys. They weren't the best ones. The dessert we order was some chocolate cake. The cake was really dry and hard. They ice cream was good though. Service is great, They let you test both wines before you order. The food is honestly not that great. It was expensive, your pretty much paying for service and the view. We went around sunset so you can see the whole view of the city and the sunset. You can see the cn tower too. They validate parking for you.
Everything is amazing as everyone says. The spiced chocolate torte was not my kind of desert but tasted delicious, regardless.
We had an amazing first experience together from start to finish. Service was impeccable and friendly. We brought our own bottle of wine and did the tasting menu. Each dish was unique and presentation artistic to go along with our amazing window seat. The only dish that wasn't as balanced as the others was the dessert which was a unique tarragon sorbet. In hindsight we should have mixed this and it would have been perfect also.
The best of O&B. Easily ond of the best restaurants in the Canada
Amazing view, amazing service and last but not the least, amazing food. Tried the braised lamb (recommended by our server) and was blown away by it. The lamb was soft and slow cooked and it was very flavourful. Would definitely visit again.
I don't usually care to write reviews but it was such a disappointing experience. I do not understand because this used to be my favourite "special night" place in the city! Unprofessional, menu was changed on us and not updated online. Second, I don't think a single thing I ate there I would want to order again. Actually, I should have returned some back to the kitchen: duck breast with skin not rendered properly, like chewing leather; ice cream sandwich that tastes like sea water, or the most bizarre: opera cake paired with a vile fishy flavour. I cannot believe that anyone actually enjoyed these dishes or combinations. Definitely not for $200+
I was here a long time ago with a friend. We tried their tasting menu. It was quite spectacular. The service was fantastic. The service staff was very knowledgeable to the pairing of foods with wines, and also the different types of cheeses and could also identify the cheeses. The way in which the tasting menu was created was fantastic as it was well thought out with breaks and palate cleansers/refreshers.
The service I'd outstanding! From valet, to hostess, our incredible server Nicole, and the management staff, everything was flawless. Highlights are: INCREDIBLE SERVICE Seafood platter tastes AMAZING and you get a large portion as a side dish And one more time INCREDIBLE SERVICE Servers and cooks really know the difference between med. rare-well done The whole place is very clean, they change the table cloth after every diner CONS: Everything needs more seasoning Lobster tail was over cooked and rubbery (could have done without it) the historic decor and pop world music doesn't work My husband and I ate here in 2013. We stopped in tonight and we were floored. The manager recognized us months later and really went out of the way to make sure we had the best food and service possible. We had the chef recommended lobster, salad of the day special, and the wild mushrooms. We were also given a complimentary dessert and champagne. The meal was good, steak cooked to a good med. rare, lobster pretty over cooked and a little rubbery, and the salad was fine. Outstanding wild mushroom side dish! The mushrooms were honestly more delicious than the steak and lobster.
We came here as a party of 2 on a Monday evening (6:45) with reservations in celebration of a birthday. We requested a window seat and noted the occasion in the online reservation, and were promptly greeted with birthday congratulations upon arrival. We opted for the tasting menu (rhubarb not pictured) and it was fantastic. The food was good, but the overall service and the great view created a very memorable dining experience. The servers also gave us a small list of the upcoming dishes and explained the history of each dish as it was brought out. While pricey, I had zero complaints regarding the food and the service was especially good. The 3 servers who were attending to us all gave our table birthday wishes, and one of our desserts came out with a small congratulatory candle. I would definitely come back for a special occasion.
To be fair, I went for summerlicious and I hear that the quality can suffer as a result. It was my first time and it did not live up to the hype in my opinion. The chicken and the devil's food cake were dry. Otherwise the service and the views are excellent.
Came here for Winterlicious with a larger group, and had a pretty great experience. The food was delicious, service was great, I don't have any complaints really. Would love to try this place again outside of the Winterlicious event.
Literally tops! And figuratively too! Mighty fine views of the city hugging Lake Ontario from the 54th floor which Canoe occupies and equally fine food, service/staff and atmosphere. And that's just for Winterlicious 2019 on a ridiculously cold January. Bean salad was perfectly fresh, pork jowls will bowl over any fan of belly and the cheesecake was a perfectly rich yet light way to finish. Add a glass of recommemded wine and wonderful service by great people and it was just a fantastic way to get to enjoy an evening. And park underground at 66 Wellington St W, you'll save yourself from a walk outside and at the end of your evening ask your host for complimentary parking. If you have not been to Canoe before then Winterlicious is the way to go!

The staff was amazing. The food was great and the service was incredible!
A culinary experience! Unreal and original food without getting too funky and weird! Love that they really embrace local! Service is always incredible! The views are better up here than the CN tower in my opinion as you get to see the CN tower and the rest of downtown all in one location!
Pricey but worth it! The food is unique with a fine dining atmosphere. The view is spectacular from the 54th floor! The portions are small but filling, so do not be deceived! The combinations of flavours that they use is different (foie gras and chocolate sauce?!) but work together.
