I ordered the Macaroni Pops but they really didn't seem that impressive, a mediocre attempt at best with decent presentation. However the experience was saved by my waitress, Christine I believe her name was, went out of her way to see if I could get a replacement meal and was very optimistic all the way through, I didn't take her up on it as I wasn't looking to waste anybodys time, but the fact that she went out of her way to make sure that my experience went well says a lot. You could have the best food in the world but if the service isn't there, then you're entire night could be ruined, just goes to show how far a good attitude and quick thinking can take you. Good job!

*** Updated to reflect the reply from location because I cannot reply *** Have been to this location a two (or three times) and the beer is always good but the food is hit and miss the last two times I have visited this establishment (perhaps different cooks or the fact one was late afternoon and the other was evening). The first time I visited this establishment I ordered the Buffalo Crunch, my girlfriend ordered the chicken tenders, and Stella’s to wash them down. On this occasion the food was good for the most part but it needs to be eaten quickly. We were on the patio and service was fairly steady for having to go in and out of the restaurant so that was appreciated considering we had two babies and four meals. Last week we went here to celebrate a friends birthday and everyone else ordered food which took a long time to arrive for being mostly starters to my knowledge. Someone at our table ended up asking me to send back their order of nachos because it was over cooked and burnt to a crisp but were too shy to do so themselves . As a server or expediter this should not have passed the quality check and after trying one it took probably three minutes for me to chew and swallow the chips I tried (to make sure they were not exaggerating). As mentioned below there was an offer to redo the nachos but the other patron at my table was not interested in getting more food as they were turned off by the presentation and time it had taken to reach the table. It was also mentioned that she was not charged but that doesn’t change the experience and I’m sure she appreciated it considering not much was eaten/edible. The rest of the food was decent but definitely not somewhere I would go if I wanted to eat quick pub fare. The beer was good and served in the correct Stella glasses. The service by the server was good otherwise and I believe she was doing her best to support her section. Last call was around 10:30 to 10:45 (did not look at my watch because I didn’t know they closed at 11) and we were rushed out fairly quickly for being there on a Saturday night and last call being a little while before closing and I ordered another beer for my girlfriend and I not knowing this. As much as I feel for the restaurant industry (which I support financially by being a patron and reporting on my experiences) there will always be a need for standards and excellence especially considering people are taking the time to spend their money and time at your establishment.

Took forever to get our food and the price is definitely not worth it. Ordered the chicken tenders with a side of poutine - wasn't too great and the chicken was a little dry. Servers kept passing our table and helped everyone else before us. When the server asked how our food was, we said that the food was a little cold. She replied, Great! and then walked away. Will not be coming back.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the King's Arms is one of the best pubs around. Great service and amazing food. They also do a great job of playing "the game" on several TVs without making the place feel like a sports bar. They've also recently renovated their upper level and they're constantly upgrading their menu so this place never develops stagnation that you might expect from an older pub. I've hosted multiple events there and will continue to choose the King's Arms first for dinner events that don't require a larger banquet hall. After 10pm, it's no wonder why college students flock there. It's a great meet-up place that plays great music and has ample parking. Highly recommended!

The right sink in the men's bathroom stays on longer than the left. Both don't stay on long enough to wash your hands...it's one of those "push down to turn on" style taps. There's a weird photo in the bathroom of a woman looking in? The food is great, the prices are decent (especially the daily specials), the staff are awesome, drinks are moderately priced. Just travelling to Oakville, but would certainly return if given the chance in the future!

Trying yet another pub in Oakville! Not too busy on a Sunday night. Families and friends gathering place based on who’s dining. Ordered Greek salad with shrimp and fish and chips. Standard fare with variety to please everyone. Nursed a Perfect Caesar while waiting for dinner... food took awhile to come out but it was all fresh hot and hit the spot. Friendly service with top up of your beverage too!

Great bar. Delicious cocktails and mains. I tried the chicken mushroom spinach penne with white whine sauce and was really impressed. It was only $14 and tasted better than most restaurants that charge 20. Service was prompt and waitresses often came by to ask if we needed anything. Nice atmosphere with many TVs to watch live sports. Would recommend and visit again.

(Wings, sandwiches, chicken on a pita, steak taco, dumplings, burgers, chicken tenders, fish and chips, mac balls, nachos, quesadillas!!) They do have healthier options... I just haven't tried them yet :) friends and family have and they always suggest we go so it must be good too. :) But the main thing is the people that work there ! You're warmly welcomed and feel so comfortable there. The owners Rob and Angelo make the place run smoothly and ensure good food and good service !!! They have so much heart ! Love this place !!!

Was DD on a not so busy night, ordered a Sprite. Came flat and 3/4 full, mentioned that it was flat to the waitress who shrugged it off, didn't offer a new one or at the very least apologize for the inconvenience and went ahead with charging $4.50 for it. Apart from that the atmosphere is nice and good selection of food and drinks!

Honestly, the first time I went there it was exceptional. The second time I went, it went completely downhill from there. The service was terrible, and the staff wasn’t rude but they also weren’t very hospitable. I didn’t feel welcomed, I felt like since I wasn’t “regular” I was put on the back burner. Not to mention this was on a super slow day, and from being a server myself their performance was subpar. Dissatisfaction guaranteed.

Night-life is a joke. Bouncers are completely unprofessional and have no respect for customers or realization that letting people in = $$! Waited outside for an hour in the rain while me and my friends watched more than 20 people leave before we could get in (we were the first in line). Seems these guys just got off on being rude to the guys waiting, while allowing women to go straight to the front (I understand why but still insulting since we waited for an hour). Got inside, the bar was super busy (mostly because they didn't think of removing the chairs that are in the way), bartenders were quick but swamped since they were doing drinks for both the bar and the tables seated. Why not have a separate service bar in the back with one bartender dedicated to orders from the table? DJ was actually really good but it sucks because there is no place to dance or even stand comfortably. Why not remove some of the tables in the middle so people can dance or stand and interact with other people? Probably won't go back anytime soon until the bouncers are actually trained on customer service.

The atmosphere is nice but the fact that you order a 30 oz. Beer doesn't mean you have to fill half of it with water! I'm so disappointed! We ordered jack daniel's and they brought it in a shot!!! Wings were ok but nothing special. Not suggested. P.S. The owner just answered me in the most rude way she could! Wow! Great! Now I definitely won't be back! If you cared about your customers you wouldn't answered like that, then you might as well answer to the positive one. Incredible how rude I got the response.

Service was slow and not very attentive and the debit/credit card machine did not work outside. When I came here on a Friday night, the service much quicker and efficient. Would return here. If you are in Oakville on a week night, this is the only place that is open until 2am every night. Usually between 12-1am it will fill up with the local servers that have just got off work. They have a great selection of alcohol and if you're looking for pub grub they do a great job at that as well. In the summer they have a small patio outside and it does get pretty busy.

I find the food prices to be essesively high at this pub. I understand the rent must be expensive due to location but the burgers are bland and often overcooked. Price is not justified. Had wings here and they were undercooked 4 months ago or so too. I have visited 3-4 times within the last 6 months. Maybe you've improved since then? Worth noting: Tons of people outside by the doors drunk and intoxicated when I visited. I did not like this it seems more than other pub restaurants. After a few trys I don't think I will return but mainly for the food being below expectations due to your high prices. Judging from reviews it seems like the owner likes to be rude. This is my honest feedback and a long winded rude response isn't needed.

Called prior to arriving, booked a table for a double birthday party, we’re told they had a DJ on Saturday nights,(or else we would have gone somewhere else) got there no DJ, some sort of senior citizens gathering, asked umpteen time for music to no avail, ordered food, 1.5 hrs later still no main, they knew we were a party and could see we were drinking heavily and we still had to find waiters to serve us (almost as if we were being ignored) ice and soda water never arrived, cancelled food order paid the bill and left. What a disappointment, this establishment attempted to ruin our evening fortunately we were able to salvage the rest of our evening elsewhere. Will not waste my time and money at this venue again, and would advise caution to others. (Maybe the fact that our skin complexion was not that of their other clientele lent towards the way we were treated) Edit after owner response: Exactly the sort of cheap knee jerk reaction I expected after reading your other reviews, well done, I’m not “embarrassed” at all to point out shabby service and discrimination me and my companions felt, I’d give you a trophy for having a chef from india, but I don’t think I care enough for that, I am whole heartedly glad that we left and will never return…

Best pub in downtown Oakville! I've been going to the King's Arms for almost 8 years now and is a staple for me and my friends on a Saturday night. I loved watching the food change over the years and only get more creative and tasty (although sometimes I do miss the curried ketchup). I've always felt welcome and will always enjoy coming here. Staff and owner were so hospitable. As a former waitress I loved seeing the owner running food as well. Clearly shows that the owner truly cares about his restaurant and staff. A fabulous pub with a wide array of drinks, with quality food and preparation was dually noted. Not only were the portions fair but the meals were tasty leaving you satisfied. Try the lamb shank it's worth it, just like being in a pub in London England. Also has a 25+ room in the upper floor for the busier weekend crowds.

King's Arms is always a fun time, even on quiet nights you can find something to do. I find that especially during the busy nights, security really steps up their game - there hasn't been a single time where I've felt unsafe. Which, for a bar, means a lot to me.

In general I can say that the place is less than the average in food(the only one that we could have) , hospitality, drinks, environment, service, etc. The security guy was kinda intimidating at the entrance, I could say he was almost rude to us, asking for the id's, that is ok actually, but not the way the guy ask for them, (lack of customer service). We went on a long weekend Sunday's night what is similar to a Saturday and there was NO food. We asked for the menu and the guy brought it to us and after almost one hour waiting for someone to take our order, the guy came and said that it wont be possible to get any item from the main menu, only like sharing Doritos and stuff like that The service was very poor, they served beers with no foam, and after about 45 minutes waiting for someone to appear to ask for it to be changed, then they did, but off course, we were alredy upset. They gave us a broken glass for the "warm" water they put on the table on a bottle that was actually not bad itself but the temperature of the water was horrible. The place was chilly in a warm summer night, even the stuff was complaining about that, but again, nothing to do about that. The music was good but too loud making difficult to share conversation between us, actually all people around us was literally screaming to each others. I would really think so deep to go back, it was not like a good experience to remember, even when we were celebrating. That people don't care about you.

What a great pub. Friendly staff, wide selection of beer and wine, interesting variety of food options (not everything is deep fried). Upstairs room available for large groups or meetings. Really nice outdoor patio (because it's in a courtyard and not beside traffic). Pool table on main floor. It's a popular and busy spot.

My friends and I, have visited this restaurant on a few different occasions. We absolutely love it! service each time was very pleasant for us. Couple things: 1. Our bartender was always on top of making sure we were okay and having a great time. (Brody) we appreciated your service thank you! 2. The food was amazing!! Their known for some amazing burgers ???? (forget the works come here!!) and wing night I believe Is Wednesday didn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for some delicious saucy wings for a good price this is the place! 3. The managers are very welcoming! We noticed each time they’ll go around and make sure you’re doing good with your meal, drinks whatever (they take care of you!!) 4. The place is clean, upstairs has a young hip vibe which is nice and downstairs I would say is quite relaxed. I would definitely keep coming back to Kings! Now one of our favourite go to spots. :)

Food is too expensive. Beer selection is good. Waitresses are very complaicent and don't do a good job overall. Bouncers is unnessessarily threatening on a friday or saturday. Witnessed a few escelated insidents that were completely avoidable if the hothead bouncer had a brain. Theres also tons of smoking right at the door. Crowd on the weekend is always rough. Avoided a few unprovoked situations one too many times. Best to avoid at night until management gets it together.

Great atmosphere, the staff is friendly and quick, they are very attentive to the items and details of them. They are also great at suggesting different drinks, and if you have a problem they are more than happy to try to solve your issue. They also play a great variety of great music. The interior atmosphere is awesome too, cool décor. The patio is great as it's in a court yard and not next to traffic.

Around 7 months ago I came to this establishment with a female friend to have a fun night out. Around 1:30 am to 2:00 am, I was standing near the DJ booth and talking to my friend when I was suddenly groped and assaulted by a man. When I turned around, I was not able to identify the culprit but there were a group of men standing 2 meters behind me. I confronted them and asked them if one of them had assaulted me but they had dismissed me and my claims. I was very upset about what had transpired at that moment and started to cry. Our waiter had inquired about what had happened and I explained the situation. Yet his reaction was not what I was expecting, he showed little to no remorse or concern about the assault. Traumatized at this point, I told the security guard as to what had happened, but he was just as worse as our waiter. Not only was he dismissive, he had also told me at this point that there is nothing he could do and to go home. At this point, the lights had come on and I could see the female bartenders smirking. These people thought that I was just a drunk mess and that I was being dramatic. It's disconcerting that an establishment would not take the safety of its customers to their utmost priority. The way the situation was dealt with has made me feel unsafe and inferior to the hierarchy that was displayed within the walls of your business. I would urge the owners to put more emphasis on creating not only a safe environment for the females but everyone that partakes. Do not be dismissive to the claims of your female clientele.

As I write this I am STILL shook this happened to me in Oakville, Canada. I have been to several clubs in Miami FL where I am from, even Orlando, Tampa, you name it. Here in Toronto I have been to Rebel, Toy Box, EFS, and even this small club in Saint Catherines HOWEVER I have never been to such a messy place. I was asked for my ID twice, and after letting me in TWICE kicked out of this place. My girlfriend and I went upstairs initially where we chilled for an hour or so because the first floor was at full capacity and to enter, you have to make a line outside, which we did in order to go downstairs where we originally wanted to go based purely on the music. After waiting for our turn to go in I was asked for my ID. I am currently 26 years old... far from underage. So, according to their “policy” I show my American driver’s license from FLorida and we FINALLY go in and were getting warmed up to the music when the same security guy who let us in the first time, came up to us to tell me the owner couldn’t have me in the building because my American license could be fake and the “cops” wouldn’t believe in the veracity of my ID if i was to be confronted with them (mind you, i had not been and was not drinking anyways). I told him that was my official government issued ID however he asked me if I could go get my passport... i travelled from Niagara Falls to go to this tiny so called pub at my girlfriend’s recommendation and was not going to drive 2h+ back and forth to enter this place. I have no need for anything other than my license at any actual clubs or pubs across the gta and would never risk taking my passport in my neighboring country. I was utterly shook, this is Canada not communist Cuba or North Korea...I asked to speak to the owner so I could prove I was American and my ID wasn’t fake but I was denied the option to and told to leave the building. Honestly this is my first review on a club or whatever you wanna call it, cuz I have fun anywhere since I love dancing and I get that not everyone can offer amazing customer service BUT I couldn’t go through this experience without letting people know. Just terrible. As a tourist, and an American I am taking with me a dreading experience from this small place in Oakville.

Kings Arms is one of those typical looking English pubs except fresher and cleaner ( no eponymous beer soaked carpet here lol), their food is surprisingly good, chicken wings best I've tried in Oakville, everything else is good too. They have this weird smoked whiskey...what it is is they put it in a class put that on a small charcutetie board and cover it in a upside down bell shaped glass like a old fashioned oddities or terrarium jar, anyways they somehow manage to fill that with wood smoke so when you get the during its sitting in a smoky jar and you take the cover off and smoke goes everywhere, changes the taste of the alcohol- what'll they think of next eh!? The atmosphere is actually family friendly as well as dates and singles at the bar...local favourite

NOT CANADIAN? NOT WELCOME After years in Canada, this place is the only one I've encountered not to accept American ID. There is no actual reason for it. They claim they can't "verify" it, but it is all bunk. Even told them that I didn't want alcohol. The owner must have some sort of issue with international visitors. Other reviewers faced the same discrimination. Basically only open to Canadians. Rude and ruined our evening. EDIT: Their nonchalant response confirms my suspicions. Stay away from this place. EDIT 2: I am pleased to see that the owner's aggressive attitude is demonstrated in their new response. That will show em!

this bar has terrible hygiene and poor service. *edit* nice response, accurately depicts your two faced nature Rob! *edit* Rob, I'm not trying to attack you personally here like you are me. I'm upset that you placed me with a stranger during an epidemic. that stranger offered to pay for a portion of that bill. When we went to discuss the bill you were very aggressive and weren't even open to discuss the issue. this isn't the type of service any customer should receive. I apologize no one covered the bill at the time. It was a mistake and not malicious. I'd be happy to cover the portion I'm responsible for. Please text me, this is an immature way to communicate.

best food in town!! half price burgers on Sundays never disappoint! I drive from caledon to Oakville just for their burgers! Pool table is in great condition, gets busy on weekends and later at night throughout the week. The atmosphere is fantastic, rented out the upstairs for a birthday and the service was incredible! Manager personally checked in hourly to make sure everything was going well and because of our love for the restaurant and frequent visits they gave us a gift for the birthday. Very kind managers! Rob is fantastic!

Its a dark english pub but clean. Very friendly staff. The madrass curry is one of my all time favorite dishes. Its fantastic. The patio is nestled in between some building making it unique and quiet. A little expensive and downtown Oakville parking isnt (always) free, but I would still highly recommend this place.

I worked for a couple of months around the kings arms while we did construction around the area and had nothing but the best service and attentiveness from the staff and owner of the kings arms to the point where they catered towards our preferences as we ordered in. Quick speedy service and always good food was to be expected and provided .

If I lived in Oakville I think this would quickly become my local. Good selection of beers, good food.. Plenty of TVs for sports fans and yet cozy enough for a quiet beer.

Great food! Decent portion sizes. It was busy when we arrived so, we waited for 15min, no biggie. There were several staff members tending to us but Sarah stood out. She was extremely knowledgeable and her customer service skills were superb. Had the cauliflower fritters and the Santorini Burger with fries... Incredible! Definitely will go back. The only negative was how loud it was but it was a Saturday night so that is expected.

100% my favourite bar in oakville any day of the week. Great service, wait staff & the management staff make you feel like family. They've been the reason why I've been going since I was 20! They are on top of their menu, service keeping the place super clean, and up to date renovations.
