Today I went after a along time and saw there were some changes in the restaurant design but wasn't expecting any changes in the food. So, I ordered a chicken shawarma salad and it tasted awful the chicken was very dry the garlic sauce tasted like water basically it was the worst shawarma I ever had in my life. The new chef has turned this place upside down.

Excellent Mediterranean restaurant. It is more of a take-out than a dine-in restaurant. Restaurant has about 20 seats, but most of the customers who come-in are for takeout. Whether you eat-in or take-out, food is awesome.

a little costly compared to other places, but you can really taste the difference in quality. I always get the chicken shawarma and love it everytime, and if you have the extra money definitely get the fries too. The fries here are easily the best i’ve had at *any* restaurant.

My 14 year old son brought our family here, as he has been eating here with his buddies. He LOVES it, and he's a picky teen. So we all went, and before I knew it we were all silent, eating and enjoying the amazing flavours of our dishes. Our youngest, whom is very picky, emptied his Shawarma/Basmati Rice plate before all of us. The GUS plate... rice, fries, shawarma, garlic sauce, and veggies was so good. We plan to come back regularly and bring my parents to try it. Go...now... and try it....so good.

I have tried a few different spots in Oakville/Burlington area for a shawarma, kafta, falafel etc. Sidra is always on point. Today I had to pick up our lunch due to work. Food was delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend. One of the daily specials, or gus in a box and a side order of their garlicky sauce potatoes !! YummO. Will be back and support local.

One of the best shawarma’s you’re gonna have in the GTA. It’s run by a very cute iraqi couple and they really know their stuff about Iraqi and Lebanese cuisines. Definitely a must-have if you like Mediterranean or Middle-Eastern cuisine!

If you are driving past Oakville and get hungry, exit on Fourth Line and turn South and you will not be disappointed with Sidra. You can call ahead to save time as the food is made fresh. This is Lebanese fare that is interestingly and tastily seasoned. The garlic sauce in the potatoes is great. Overall an 8 .5 out of ten. Once you take in the very reasonable price, may rate even higher. Owner run, and he cares and frets so you know he wants to please....how many places can you say that about these days??

I loved the new management. Janet was very friendly and helpful . We got a family size platter with 12 Kofta and chicken skewers plus rice, salads, humus and pickles for $39. Everything in the meal was great. I can't find a single drawback to mention. I would definitely recommend this place.

probably one of the best shawermas i've had... both in terms of value and taste! that being said...their salad is hit or miss.... one time it was over flowing from the container, the next it barely reached the lip of the container and the third time it was about the same... you're charging $12 for a few shavings of microwaved beef and kale with onion and cabbage...the least you guys could do is fill up the container so i'm full after a meal. Update: new owners are still finding their groove, portion sizes have decreased while prices stay the same.

Not worth the price to quality and quantity. Used to go once a week, stopped going now with new management. Food doesn't taste as good, bland relative to when Nash used to serve it. Portions are significantly smaller and rice isn't good anymore. Whether it's a new grain and/or different seasoning it's not as good.

Very frustrating, ordered twice using Uber and each time the driver went to pick it up the owner cancelled the order because he said he isnt going to prepare food for UBER if he has any customers in the store. Called the store and asked the owner and he said delivery orders are not important to him. I said well we come there 3 times a week and pick up but now that im ordering for delivery we arent important. He said thats business and hung up the phone. I am very sceptical of Shawarma places, there are so many and they are usually mediocre, a waste of money. I came in here with my parents while waiting for something at the bank across the street. We were very happy all around. 1) The Owner was thoroughly cleaning and carefully disinfecting every table. 2) The Owner took our order and WROTE DOWN every single thing we said (I hate it when they go by pure memory and make mistakes!) 3) The meals were all served exactly as we asked 4) I was not expecting them to have our food ready so quickly, not only was it fast it was cooked to perfection 5) Delicious beef quality, perfect fries, delicious salad! and finally the most impressive of all 6) This place has customers coming in non-stop, there is a reason for it! It is amazing. We will be coming back for sure and will be recommending this place!

Great food was little expensive for the Gus in the box when it was $14 but the quantity and taste was worth it. Went the other day the raised the price to $18 & $22 if you want mixed beef and chicken use to be $18. The kicker new container is smaller. Firstly- for those of you wondering how good the food is, this is a place you must try. Everything from the shawarma and biryani, to the bread and sauces were fresh and authentic. The portions were incredibly generous and honestly great the next day too. But what really sets this restaurant apart is the extreme kindness of the owner. Throughout every interaction he went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and ensure everything was perfect. All in all, I am a new loyal customer and highly recommend visiting for yourself. Recently check out this place - the shawarma was very good but I’m still in love with Lezzet’s in Mississauga. The owner though, his customer service is exceptional and very welcoming. My only complaint was that their tables were very dirty; it’s imperative that tables are thoroughly cleaned when patrons are dining indoors.

I've eaten the food from this restaurant multiple times and each visit has been extremely pleasant. The owner is very friendly and will happily explain the various menu choices as well as any new items on the menu with detail and there are daily specials which are nice. The food itself is always prepared very well and is consistently tasty and fresh whether it is the beef or chicken shawarma or platter. Furthermore, the fries are always cook to crispy fluffy perfection. I would easily recommend this place for Lebanese food and/or shawarma over others in the area because again, the food is consistently tasty and the ingredients are fresh and the sauces do not taste like mass produced factory made sauces!

I guess the owner changed recently but it's still my favourite shawarma place in Oakville. Portion size (for the dinner platter) is big enough for two meals. I like getting it the old way, haven't tried the new way but it seems pretty good too. Love the fries and the flavour of the sauce they put on it. Tried the daily special and it's good value (maybe too much hummus relative to salad / chicken. At the end all that was left was hummus. But it was yummy!). Lots of pita bread too! There is now a lot more seating inside, the counter has become much smaller. The owner and staff are kind. Parking is decent. Getting into the parking lot can be a pain during busy hours if you're coming from 4th line so try and come down speers the other way (dorval side)...

The best in town and I swear by it. If you're looking for something to really hit the spot, this place will do it for you. You got the quality in the ingredients itself, the presentation is stunning, the garlic and hot sauces are to die for, the chicken is juicy and the beef is out of this world. Just enjoyed Gus In a Box.... unbelievably delicious !!!!! I visit Sidras at least once per week and sometimes more often . This restaurant changed hands just before Covid and in my opinion deserves the community's patronage and support especially with the challenges restaurant owners face at this time. After one visit you will appreciate the great pride and hard work of the staff . Gason provides a meticulously sanitized and mask wearing facility so that all patrons feel comfortable. The food is superb and prepared with care and love by the ladies in the kitchen. The garlic and hot sauces are delightful and add such great flavor to all of their dishes. The basmati rice is heavenly..... slightly seasoned and perfectly cooked. I feel the owner is sincerely interested in making sure that all visitors to his place are well satisfied. The prices are quite reasonable especially given that one can get two meals out of most of the dishes (for example Gus in a Box)...... thank you Sidras!

My hubby and I went there yesterday. We walked in and was greeted by the owner. He has such a humble soul. His food is made all from scratch with the finest meats. I had chicken shawarma plate and my hubby had veggie patties made with bulgar flour. I found another hotspot for authentic middle eastern food. I will be back. Maybe even today. So yummy

I come in to order a kefta sandwich, the guy asked the cooker to use the frozen cooked kefta from the night before(she put it in the microwave for good 2 mn and then at the grill, all of this was said in Arabic) . When I noticed all that and asked for my money back because I didn’t pay for frozen and old food, and that I understood what was said in Arabic, the guy ( I assume he’s the owner) got mad and said : « go back to your country and where you come from », this is all because I didn’t like what I was being served. I will never go back to this place

We recently visited Sidras Restaurant Gus explained many options. I decided to order the hummus, falafel Wrap. and Gus in a box to take home for family dinner. I asked Gus if the falafel was good as I am pretty picky. He said Just check our reviews. I was not disappointed. All of the food was amazing. The falafel and hummus were some of the best I have tasted and the portions were excellent. Also, I have tried many kebab, but the best one is here, there is some sort of secret in the meat. They have amazing hummus, rice, fries and what not. I love this place's bread that they give at the beginning. So, I am giving this place five stars. Best Middle Eastern food. I highly recommend this place if you are trying Middle Eastern for the first time and even if you have had it before. If you are someone who does not like Middle Eastern food, this place will completely change your mind.

He made me feel very comfortable with my menu choice and assured me it will be fresh, great tasting and there will be plenty of food for the guests. Rest assure he was right. All my guests were very pleased with the food. The chicken breast souvlaki was moist and very flavorful. (In some restaurants the chicken can be dry)we also ordered other meats and they were all great. You must try the owners special sauce for the crispy fries. My experience in this place was excellent. The food was great (chicken shawarma) and prepared very quickly. The place was spotless and my wife used the restroom and noted that it was very clean. A place that prepares the food we are about to eat gains extra points in our books when it's clean. Nothing prepared me though for the utmost honesty that the owner displayed when he brought my wallet to my house which I have lost at his location. On top of that he was apologizing that he had to open it to look at my ID for my address. I will definitely eat here again and recommend all of you to give it a try.

I have been craving a chicken shawarma wrap for the last few days. Today at 10am, I called sidras to see if I could place an order. Despite them not opening until 11am, the owner said he could fulfill my order. On my way to pick it up, my coworker asked me to get one for him too. Upon arriving at sidras before their opening time, the owner also made another wrap. To me, this was excellent customer service on top of a fantastic meal. My first visit, sign said under new management so wasn't sure if the good reviews I read would apply. Ordered chicken souvlaki with Greek salad upgrade. The greens in my salad were a salad mix, not just lettuce, and I loved that there was red cabbage in it. A light house-made dressing and generous sprinkling of feta made it tasty and healthy. Wanted to try their falafel, it was light and very well made, not heavy, greasy and dry. Chicken souvlaki was tasty, very impressed by the seasoned basmati rice, not just a dumping of white rice or fake saffron seasoning created with artificial colour. Everything made fresh to order.

Have had many of their dishes and loved them all: baba gannoush, hummus, falafel, as well as their chicken shawarma and lamb and beef tikka. Catered from here for my family and all were impressed. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and perfectly spiced, the rice seasoned and cooked to perfection and the salad fresh and crisp, they use top quality ingredients and it shows… My all time fave is the Gus in the box (two meals for me) and recently the Gus of the Sea with delicious crisp calamari! Even their fries are seasoned to perfection. The owner and his assistant are very dedicated and friendly. The day we arrived at the restaurant, one of the workers quit without notice and the owner had to take it upon himself to cook the food, attend the front desk, and pick up all the calls. The food was rushed and the rice was still raw because when you bit into it, it was like biting a pebble. Went today (June 6, 2019) for a beef shawarma to go. Don’t know if the restaurant is under new management but staff was different today (3 guys, not the nice guy that always welcomes us with a smile). Food was not good, my platter was full of rice (the rice wasn’t even good), almost no beef (flavour wasn’t good either), and it wasn’t as fresh and generous as usual. Felt very dissapointed!!! Even the bread was terrible. Gonna give it one more chance as long as the nice guy is serving. Otherwise, won’t be back again...

Surprisingly delicious food. Good service that is fast which is great for a work break. It's a humble spot on the outside, clean and comfortable inside. When it comes to shawarma I am usually a pretty picky person. I have tried a lot of places in Oakville since the closing of one of my favourites down on Kerr Street Agabi. I have been in search of a new place since then that I can rely on to provide me with similar or better quality and quantity. I can truthfully say that Sidra has impressed me thoroughly from the moment I walked in I was greeted by the friendly owner who helped me decide on what I should have for my first experience. In the picture below I had ordered the Gus in the Box which is their take on a mixture of fries and rice mixed with chicken shawarma. As you can see the quantity is substantial and quite filling. As for the quality it was out of this world with flavour. The blend of chicken with biryani rice, crisp fries and topped with feta cheese, a sublime garlic sauce and a perfectly balanced hot sauce finally garnished with a Sidra special veggie mix packed a mouth watering punch that will leave you wanting more with each and every bite. I look forward to expanding on trying more from their menu and would highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates a true shawarma experience.

My friend had highly recommended Sidra and so when I was heading towards the neighborhood I ordered two double chicken on the rocks one spicy and one not spicy. I was in a hurry and even though they were short staffed, they got my order ready less than 10 minutes for me to pick up. It was delicious. We had been passing by the plaza at 4th Line and Speers Rd where Sidra Restaurant is located daily but never had a chance to dine there. We aren’t very outgoing bunch, eating mostly at home or in two or three favourite restaurants. Due to a covid though we decided it’s time to change our habits and do more takeouts to support our local businesses, different place each time. Sidra owner was very helpful advising us on dishes and options he believed we will enjoy the most. Since we are very new to Arabic food we gladly took the advice and weren’t disappointed at all. Everything was very fresh, tasty and in quantities that filled us full. I will be looking forward to coming back to dine at Sidra soon. And I encourage everyone do takeouts in your area as much as possible. Help your local restaurants and discover new gems.

I was referred to this place and visited with my daughter for lunch. Upon entering the restaurant I immediately felt super uncomfortable since we were not even acknowledged other than the old man standing behind the cash literally smile less and standing there without even asking me if I needed any help with my choices. We ended up ordering the “mini” shawarmas for $8 each ( anywhere else this is the actual price for a reg size) once we received our food and I picked it up I already knew I was going to be sorely disappointed from the weight alone. Sure enough I opened it up and there was lettuce and the usual toppings but about 4 shavings ( and I use this word because I can’t even call it pieces) of chicken. So bottom line after spending $18 for those wraps I left it on the table and walked away disgusted. I have had these wraps from numerous restaurants before and this was the absolute worst. My only regret is not taking a pic so I can post it with this post !

The first time I went to Sidra I was unsure of what to expect. I decided to try the "Gus in the box" which was a little on the wild side for me as I'm a chicken & rice kinda guy. After purchasing my order and chatting a little bit with the owner, I collected my food and left. I was about to leave the parking lot when the owner appeared at my window side. He had charged me $2 extra as per it's original price vs the special of the day and ran up to my window to apologize and give me my correct change I knew I would be back. Upon opening of the box itself you're greeted by a healthy portion of chicken, rice, fries (are they spicy?), pickle red onion, white onion garlic sauce and Feta. The dish itself has lots of character and gets a 5 star from me. Another happy customer :).

I love Shawarma and I have been to many different places to experiment. But when my mom brought a shawarma from this establishment, I have never had a shawarma this good in my life. The new owner is amazing! The food quality which was great to begin with has gotten even better (I didn't even think that was possible). The shawarma is hands down, the best in the GTA. You will not be disappointed. Everything is so incredibly fresh. The fries are also delicious and full of flavour. The daily special is a good deal. Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I'll definitely be back!

New owners/managers are brutal. All aspects of food quality,taste, service and hospitality have deteriorated while simultaneously raising prices.. perhaps the old owner could not sustain the previous business model at that price & quality, but the new owners will not maintain the existing customer base given the existing attitude towards the operation. Do not recommend anymore... the 4.6 average rating(at the time of writing) is likely a true reflection of previous ownership. There is something good underlying here. Hopefully the new owners recognize that before it’s too late.

This restaurant is the best place to go when you're craving meal. Gorgeous portions, delicious, excellent service and very welcoming people. I used to come here when I wanna have a shawarma. Today I had a big order of jumbo burger and it's amazing. Big portions and very delicious. I would definitely try it again and again. I recommend it. just try it!

Had the chicken souvlaki plate. Chicken was tender, salad was so fresh over 12 items in all. The owner took the time to answer my questions on where his flavors come from based on country and the history in making some foods. A pleasant experience. Highly recommended

I order beef shawarma wrap and greek salad. The salad is great with lot of cheese. However the wrap is not too tasty, not enough sauce and meat is a bit thicker and tougher too

The food here is top notch. SO delicious. My family and I each had the Shawarma salad and all LOVED it! Too bad it's closed on Sunday because we wanted to order again (2 days in a row!). I'll be honest, I've always overlooked this place based on the outside, but I was clearly doing myself a disservice because this is the best Mediterranean restaurant I've ever tried!

Wow we just ate from Sidra for the first time and I still can’t believe how amazing all of the food was. We ordered the dinner for 2 mix BBQ platter and the sidra baba gaboush. Everything was perfect and I had no idea the food would be this good. Definitely going to be ordering from here regularly from now on!
