I would rate this restaurant a negative five if I could. First of all, the tables are super small even for two people. You can barely keep two plates on it. The service is horrible. There were not any napkins; I guess napkins are the essential item in a restaurant. And about the food, it was the most tasteless food that we ever ate. I ordered a pizza, which wasn't a pizza; it was just a thin dough with a tiny amount of cheese. I usually do not complain about pizza BCS I love all kinds of pizzas, but their pizza was horrible. I didn't finish my meal. My boyfriend ordered a burger. And lemme tell you, McDonald's burgers are much tastier and fresher than the burger we ordered here. The burger was about 8CM in diameter ( smaller than mac chicken in Macdonald). Instead of fries, they serve the burger with a small boiled potato. Like, are you kidding me? Almost in all restaurants, they serve the burger with FRIES. After we are in this restaurant, my boyfriend and I were food poisoned. We have been vomiting and had diarrhea for two days. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE!

We just had a very good meal in beautiful summer weather on the patio at Paradiso. Scrumptious warm Brie appetizer and a blackened tuna salad that had a very broad, rich range of flavours going on, that blended together wonderfully. Serving staff were very friendly, helpful and patient, which is a very welcome thing after months of lockdown!

The place is ok, but the food was a big disappointment. I expected much more. Someone divulged as the best burger in Oakville in some blog or website. I think was a big mistake. FOR SURE IS THE WORST BURGER IN OAKVILLE!!! Almost impossible to eat, they put some terrible sauce inside, my son is a burger fanatic and he couldn't finish the burger. The pasta was almost OK, but for a italian restaurant in downtown Oakville it is a big mistake. I hope they improve in the future.

Three of us had dinner there and there wasn't a bad course to be had. Service was great. I recommend the gnocchi with a Chianti - it brought back strong memories of Tuscany. It was a touch on the high price side, but we had no regrets. Will be back.

I have not been in about 10 years but everything still taste the same and much better. I brought my sister for the first time and she loved it! I don't think my review will do justice to how special Paradiso is. Their customer service is excellent, their food is delicious, the patio comfortable, drinks perfecto and reservation system a time saver. Highly recommend the Spaghetti Bolognese and the fresh bread. Paradiso has consistently delicious Italian food - everything from the ravioli to the gnocchi are house dishes that are always on the menu and so, so good. The steak is just okay, but don’t come for the steak because the pastas are cooked perfectly!

Great food. I took my friend out for a 1 on 1 dinner and the staff was so friendly. The food was fantastic my friend got the short rib and loved it and I got the wild boar and it was sooo good. Great dinner experience. Went with friends from out of town. We all ordered various items and everyone was quite satisfied. They have a special date night menu which gives you 2 glasses of wine, main course and dessert for a great price. Worth coming here on a date night and then a stroll by the lake. Restaurant has 2 distinct sides with a different ambiance in each. Plenty of parking options nearby.

This place was recommended by some close friends. They come here often for date night. I was very satisfied with my visit. Staff are all lovely, friendly, and non intrusive (like doesn't come over too often but comes to check in at the appropriate intervals). Excellent selection of wine. Very accomodating of vegans and vegetarians. Gluten free menu too! The ambience is perfectly intimate and wonderful for dates. I really enjoyed myself and my boyfriend did too. Cannot wait to come back!

With a fairly severe gluten allergy, I was excited to find a restaurant serving multiple gluten free dishes. It was our first visit and everything went very well from start to finish. Making our reservation was easy - we were seated right in front of the open kitchen (which is highly worth it and I recommend it!). The wine and drink list was extensive - menu gave a variety of options. The food came out fast and hot and absolutely delicious. We will be back 100%. Thank you Paradiso for the great experience!

I used to come here as a little girl about 15 years ago and the service is friendly and quick, the outside seating is beautiful and well-set-up considering Covid-19. This place remains one of my favorite little restaurants in Oakville and considering shops and restaurants downtown Oakville seem to go bankrupt within a couple of months, it says something that they have been there or as long as I can remember (which is upwards of 15 years). I usually have my birthday here every year and the only thing that seems to have changed over the years is the menu but I recommend the mixed greens and quinoa salad oh so yummy!

I've been to this restaurant for business in the past and had a pleasant experience. On my most recent encounter I was thoroughly disappointed. Long story short we were told there were a couple of tables available when we called, so we shouldn't have to wait long. Upon arrival (3 minutes later) we're told there's a 45 minute wait... We're shocked but leave our name and number to be called when a table is ready. 1.5 hours go by without a call and we found a table elsewhere. They didn't end up calling us and gave us some excuse that they only took our number for contact tracing. I'd believe it except that we hadn't even stepped foot on their property at that point. They expected us to stand there and wait 45 minutes for the next table, but didn't make that clear to us. I can't help wonder if it was because of the colour of our skin and our casual post-hike attire. Will be avoiding in the future.

I have been here only 1 time but form my only time the food is super good, I had the crab ravioli for lunch and Creme Brulee for dessert. I would definitely come back here again. Everything is clean here , has a big room for big group events which can fit 20-30 people in the room. If I had to give the food a score out of 10 I would definitely give it 10 or even 11!

I have been to this restaurant several times. I am not going back there again, because how they handled our recent visit. My friend and I with our three girls age from 4 to 7 went to this restaurant for lunch last Saturday around 1 PM. First the hostess told us politely that she needed to check on the tables for us. After 5 minutes, one manager looking gentleman came out and told us that they don't have a table for us, the wait time will be more than 40 minutes. However, all tables were setup for lunch and the restaurant was half empty from what we could see. We didn't ask why and neither he bothered to explain to us. So we left to the restaurant next door. Based on my past experiences, their food was not impressed and the services they provided was below average as well. So they finally did a good job to push their customers, our family and friends away this time.

One of the best restaurants in Oakville. The bread is always delicious, it is so soft and rich. The crab ravioli is always my choice; I usually recommend it to whoever I'm with and they always enjoy it as well. I would also highly recommend taking one of their cooking classes. We did the surf and turf valentines class and it was an extremely enjoyable night with fantastic food and helpful and friendly chefs. I will always choose paradiso!

Saturday evening dinner on a very hot September evening. The temperature inside the restaurant was very comfortable. We made reservations and were immediately seated and our waitress was very quick and pleasant. Table of 4. The Chardonnay was a good start followed by signature crab cakes. Very unique taste in these cakes with a touch of sweet spice. Angus beef steak was cooked perfectly to medium. Seafood stew had no complaints . Very fresh and hot. Dessert was a pecan tart, Tiramisu, dark chocolate cake and creme brulee. Again all the desserts passed Mmm good stage. So all in all, it was very good. Paying 20 - 30 bucks a plate and another 10 each on dessert quickly brought our tab an "Oh ya we're in Oakville State" So a bit expensive but not regrettable and would probably visit again.

I was here in February 2014 during 'Winterlicious' where they have set menus. The 3 course meal was only $35, (the wine is what KILLS the bill) and all of the options looked delicious. I had the Arroncini, Chicken Supreme and a chocolate tart- all tasted fresh, delicious and comforting. The service was amazing too, we were one of the only people in there that night, and we never had to wait long for our drinks or food. I've love to go back.

Burgers were a great disappointment. Meat, bun and a lump of what looked like green jello on the meat. The potato slices (no fries) were overly spiced and were received cold. Coffee was also just luke warm. Service was ok at first but ended up rather sluggish after a while. No, no desire to return.

Went as a family of 5 on a Sunday, after kids matinee at Oakville Centre for the Arts. Excellent menu and superb service! Thanks Jaclyn! Kids menu featured smart choices without pandering - gnocchi in butter sauce for one and chef made a grilled cheese, when asked, that was envied by the adults. Bouillabaisse was delicious and the wine selection uncompromising. If I lived in Oakville, their Uber Eats would know my address.

Casually stumbled upon this place as I was going to a park near lakeshore and was not disappointed! Do not be fooled by the simple exterior of the restaurant as the quality of the food and service is superb! If you're a fan of grilled calamari, you have to get it here! The crab ravioli is also really delicious. Would definitely go again or recommend people to go.

My family loves this place. We have a mix of omnivores and vegetarians, so the vegetarian menu is extremely appealing. No one has to compromise because they still have the usual menu too! Services is always good and we really like the atmosphere. Seafood stew and butternut squash ravioli are two of our favs.

I have eaten here on 2 occasions. Both times, the service was attentive, prompt. The food was very good. The lamb burger is exceptional. Crab cakes are nicely done and the salads fresh and appealing. And, good wine choices. If you let them know that you are on a schedule for a theatre event, they will get you fed and out in plenty of time. Otherwise, they don't rush you. I really like this restaurant.

My wife and I were there the other day for our anniversary dinner. I had dinner there once before and wasn't really impressed but the night was beautiful and I wanted to also enjoy the evening in downtown Oakville. As I remembered, the service and ambiance were good. For starters we each had a red sangria which was ok, not a drink I would re-order. We also had the bruschetta was ok but not served on flatbread as per the menu. I would have ordered a different entre if I had known this. For our main course we had a veal chop (a featured dish). The portion was good and it was cooked to medium as requested. Unfortunately it was served on top of the mashed potatoes (not my preference and it shows a lack of creativity) and the veal itself was simply bland. The other dish was the 12 hour braised beef gnocchi. It was somewhat more flavourful however the beef was mostly shredded. There couldn't have been more than two or three actual pieces of beef. The gnocchi were also a bit mushy. The gnocchi to beef ratio was quite poor. For dessert we ordered my wife's favourite, creme brulee. They served three types. While all three were good, my peeve was with the chocolate version because instead of using shaved chocolate on top they served it with chocolate chips. To me this showed a lack of creativity and effort. Anyone can use chocolate chips, if it was shaved chocolate curls I at least could have assumed it was good quality chocolate no matter what was used. After tip, the final tally was $150. Personally, if I am going to go out for dinner in that price range OK isn't good enough. I would rather drive to Toronto to dine in that price range. The quality, flavours and creativity are by far superior.

Sorry Paradiso That was the worst meal I have had in Oakville. I had the Caesar Salad and added shrimp, the shrimp was so smelly the salad was covered in sauce - just disgusting. The main was the Spaghetti Bolognese this was a pulled beef with what looked like tinned tomatoes and a dry spaghetti no flavour incredibly disappointing. My wife had a beet and goats cheese salad it had so much salt in it was almost inedible. For a main she had a quiche, which had more marmalade on it than Paddington Bear could have eaten, she scraped it off but alas it was still disgusting. We had been given a $150 voucher to spend by some friends, the bottle of Chianti we had was good but the rest of the meal was awful. Total cost of the meal was $125 we gave the server who was very nice the remaining $25 as she had done a good job. We shan’t return ☹️ hate to complain at the restaurant as the occasion was so tainted by the food we just wanted to leave. Very sad that with current construction going on in Oakville that this patio is all Oakville has to offer right now.

Server wouldn’t let us order at our own pace , she made us order everything at once , then it took an hour and a half for our mains which were salads , portions were tiny for the price and when we asked for our mains to be a packed before they got to the table the server just brought us one bill before we asked for it , this place is trash and the food literally wasn’t good wouldn’t ever go back

Update: They were kind enough to contact me and appologize for ruining my lunch, which surprised me incredibly. The man was courteous and polite. Rating changed to 4 stars. I would give them another shot. Overpriced, underseasoned, and horrible customer service. The sauce was definitely canned. It had that metallic taste from a canned sauce. Portion incredibly small in a $24 Spaghetti Bolognese. A random waiter, not my waiter, came by and took my plate while I was still eating. Like... Anyway. I had been eyeing the place for a while to try it. Definitely a big mistake. They have just lowered my opinion of 'downtown' Oakville. Toronto is definitely better.

Great staff and very tasty food. On the pizza Funghi, the balsamic reduction on the garlic aioli was an unexpected combination but very tasty. The burger was fresh with great seasoning. No extra pepper or salt required, just how the chef created it. Well done, will definitely come back.

We've been visiting Paradiso a few times a year for over 14 years. We make it a point to visit around our wedding anniversary each year. We also have dinner there before shows at the Oakville Perfoming Arts centre - they are so accommodating. Food is always exceptional and the wait staff are excellent. Our most recent visit was last evening and despite the restrictions to the number guests, the menu was full, the quality of the dishes was as high as ever and were well looked after by our server. A perennial favourite of ours.

The food quality has really declined. The waiter was a rude young guy. When the salmon came smelling putrid we where told that it was “just brought in yesterday “ which made no difference to us to smelled awful. In addition what wasn’t smelling old lacked any flavour. Paradiso has always been a favourite of many. Many years ago i had a couple of company parties but I am now retired. With all the good reviews, it is almost impossible to write any negative but I will share MY OWN experience taking into consideration that they have just re-opened. As I glanced at the menu while I was there last week, I was taken back to observe that it looked more like a dinner menu with the prices matching that. (a real meal started at 24) I asked if there was a different menu for lunch.... what a mistake. Immediately I felt the energy from my Server as if I shouldnt be there. Too embarrass to leave, I waited. I then waited more than 20 mins to be served. Of course, her excuse was reasonable that they were busy but I dont think that was the only reason. Most of the waitresses seem to have their favourite clientele but that friendliness does not spread across the board. We left immediately after the waitress grab my plate as I was finishing the very last morsel while my friend paid the bill. Wasn't a very good experience for us and my friend felt the same way. I would like to mention that after living 40 yrs in Oakville, I moved to Florida after retirement and it was my first experience after many many years to eat in Oakville again (even prior to the lockdown) and I chose Paradiso when there are many many other patios along Lakeshore . Very disappointed with the experience. For me, not only the food but the service has to also match the prices. (The Owner of this Restaurant is a Wonderful Individual) More training for the staff please. Thank you.

All my guests have been most impressed with the ambience, menu and high quality of the dishes. The last time we ate here was three years ago. It used to be our go to restaurant for special occasions. We had a terrible experience with the server who was obviously in a bad mood and decided it would be okay to insult my husband. This was done in front of our son’s then future in laws. We have never been back and neither has our son and his now wife. This was the restaurant they went to on their first date and they used to go back every year on their anniversary. So that’s four people who no longer go this restaurant because of one server who felt empowered to take out her bad mood on a customer just for fun.

My husband and I decided to stop by for lunch with our newborn baby. When we arrived the manager was very hesitant to sit us even though there was ample space for us to sit. Finally when it looked like we were going to walk away he said “fine just pick a table” instead of seating us. That should’ve been the first red flag. shortly after being seated we realized they were not going to serve us immediately. Other tables arrived and were served immediately upon seating. where we had to wait half an hour before the server even spoke to us. We ended up taking our food to go. They made it clear we were not welcome. Didn’t know it was a thing to not want families to come to your restaurant.????‍♀️
