The food was delicious. The portions were large. The staff were friendly. I will definitely return.

Good food with good service! It’s a new type of shawarma to me because I’ve never tried this kind of Middle Eastern shawarma that was served with fillings (meat and veggies) and pita/bread separated. We’ve ordered 3 dishes for us 4 people, and was enough. PS. The bread is serving ayce with whatever your orders. Chicken, beef are both good, the only thing I don’t like that much is the deep fried eggplant turns out too oily, others are pretty good and delicious. Price wise was reasonable in terms of its portion. My friend lives in Oakville so he recommended this place and it didn’t disappoint me. But I hope they have more locations open in the future so that we people live in north don’t have to drive a long way there to eat it. Overall, It’s a great experience, thanks.

Words can’t do the food here justice. The cauliflower dishes are insane, and as a vegetarian and a cook myself, I don’t say that easily. Maro served us and the experience was next level. Our new favourite spot.

Neda Huda

Fantastic food. Very fresh and juicy. Good service. Highly recommended.

I really liked the Beirut dish, the chicken shawarma is reallygood & the humus at the bottom was really good. I ended up also ordering the garlic sauce on the side, really good. I forgot the name of the salad with kale and other veggies. Kale was a bit too over powering which changed the flavour. The Persian tea was reallly good. Loved that it was bottomless and it tasted really light Def will visit again.

I love the food at Mario’s don’t get me wrong it’s delicious. Mostly, the staff is very polite. This was my first time post Covid ordering take out from here. When we went to pay I noticed the host was wearing his mask half way meaning (barely) covering his mouth. Then I noticed most of the servers weren’t wearing their masks properly. I saw the host handling and preparing food the same way. Barely covering his mouth. Which means food is being prepared unsafely and there's a risk of contamination. I was with my child so I bravely asked him to pull up his mask. If I don’t advocate for my kids who will? He pretended he didn’t hear me. I asked a few times and he said he was vaccinated. But that doesn’t mean you can’t carry the virus .I’m vaccinated but my toddler isn’t. I told him that and he still didn’t put his mask up. He seemed really annoyed by my question. He rolled his eyes. Sad reality is...people can still get Covid and it can still be fatal even if you're vaccinated. So this was disappointing because we can’t be shy nor felt ashamed about asking others to do their part in keeping their customers safe. And look maybe people don’t care. But when you work at a restaurant and interact with so many people a day ..meeting and greeting customers - you should be more responsible and provide a safe environment for them..for us. Regardless what your POV is. I've been to a few restaurants and this was my first experience with the staff not masking properly...the masks were almost falling off their face. So I urge anyone who goes to Maros to please make sure you ask them to properly mask up. We can’t be shy when it comes to protecting our health. Protect yourself and others around you especially with this new variant. Barely covering your mouth doesn’t count as wearing a mask. It doesn’t take a genious to know the science behind why covering your mouth and your nose is so important. We don’t want to be living like this forever....Be responsible and mask up the right way!

Most unique, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious menu items of any Oakville restaurant. Love the food, the atmosphere and the people in this place.

I don’t normally post reviews but our experience tonight left a sour taste. We made a reservation (over a week ago) for my birthday from 6pm-8pm, and were looking forward to it as it would be our third time coming here. However, the customer service has really gone downhill, which is disappointing considering we are in a pandemic and were willing to come out and support our local small business/restaurant. The male server/manager serving us provided us with lacklustre customer service. We even had to yell out at him multiple times to get his attention, or just to get refills for our bottomless teas. Despite having the reservation until 8:00pm, he also gave us a hard time at 7:30pm and told us he would be closing in 10 minutes, so we were unable to cut our birthday cake, and we were given the impression that we were to leave. The server made us feel like we weren’t welcome there. So if that is the case, we will NOT be returning ever to support this restaurant, as they don’t appreciate their patrons. Nor will we recommend this sublevel customer service to our friends and family. If you’re looking for great dine in service, don’t come here.

The presentation of dishes isn't really practical and seems to be driven by wanting to look fancy for social media. The shawarma plate comes in a narrow long plate and the hummus is underneath. The pita dip has little bowls in a slippery cheese board type tray. When the waitress brought it over, one bowl slid off and went all over my friends clothes. Food also took forever to come out, and ended up tasting just ok

Amazing food, fresh ingredients , quick service. Will return!!

Amanda Stewart

Amazing dishes! Expect to wait atleast 30mins if you go during regular meal times. Absolutely worth the wait.

Amanda B

This is such a great place! We had so much fun, the food was amazing and the staff were super nice! I would definitely recommend going here.

Julia Pie

Absolutely love this restaurant. Amazing food, fresh and beautifully seasoned. My favourite dish is Lunch in Beirut , creamy and rich hummus with grilled veggies and chicken , can't be beat. Bella and the Beast is a great veggie dish . Gets quite busy on Friday and weekend so call ahead for reservations or for pickup. Portions are are hearty so be prepared for a feast. .

Alex Bailey

Always excellent. No liquor so it's perfect for taking clients. Ordering a massive amount of choices and not breaking bank. Service is awesome. Just ask the fellas to help you out and tell them what you like and your good to go!

Found this place in a list of brunch places in Oakville. I was taken by the consistently high ratings and wanted to see what the "fuss" was about. My wife, a friend of ours and I went there and we immediately liked the decor of the place. We ordered our food and when it came, it looked so beautiful! Amazing plating skills, but looks can be deceiving, I thought. Turns out, absolutely not! The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We hadn't been to many Mediterranean places in GTA, primarily because the last one we went to - Paramount - was an unmitigated disaster. But I think we've found our new favorite place! :) It is a bit pricey, so be prepared to spend at least $20 per head. Oh, and their baklava, while not the best I've ever had (that's at Zeni Ethiopian in San Jose, CA), is quite good. Definitely my top 5.

Cathy Bogaart

Had their famous Bella and the Beast fried cauliflower with hummus. Wow—amazing! We could not get over how delicious it was, and so filling, shared between two of us. We couldn’t even eat the salad that comes with it, which was just OK anyway. I would love to try a few other vegetarian options on the menu also , so I guess I’ll be back. Not sure if I’ll be able to go without ordering the cauliflower again…

Stephanie Wilkinson

Family style share plates as you can see the portions below. We ordered the Potato Famine salad and Here Comes the Bride on Baba Ganoush. I love their innovative and fresh food using Middle Eastern flavors and ingredients. The fish portion was great. Our dishes also came with pita bread. The fish was not over cooked, it was lightly battered and moist on the inside. There wasn’t any pine nuts like the menu described though. The batter was good, I wish it was served with a bit of lemon or citrus to cut the saltiness of the batter and compliment the spices in the batter. The potato famine salad was great until I got half way through and it was mostly kale and pickled turnip pieces. We were a table of two. And we’re very full from this meal (we are self proclaimed big eaters). Service: served by Maro himself, friendly service, attentive. We went during lunch on a weekday and it wasn’t very busy.

John Bugailiskis

Maro's is consistently one of the best places for middle eastern food. Everything is good.

Sandi Brown

We went here with 3 kids for a Saturday lunch. It was not super busy so that was nice. We met another family of 5 with 3 kids as well. All of us were incredibly impressed with the food!! The kid bowls were a great size and very reasonable in price. My favourite part was definitely the food itself!! DELICIOUS!!!

Jennifer Yellin

Incredible Middle Eastern & Turkish style food in the heart of Oakville's Kerr Street Community. Casual and perfect for take-away. Great menu variety, including many options for vegetarians and vegans. Huge portion sizes and excellent value for money. Friendly service.

Nahla Aly

Loved our experience here. Not only is the food great and well balanced, and the portions very good, but the staff is also so welcoming and friendly. Maro is a great host, even made our kids fall in love with the place. We all walked out happy and full.

Dolly Vira

Amazing food! Transported me back to Middle East. I have spent a lot if time looking for an authentic Middle Eastern place and I finally found one. Great ambiance. Staff us very friendly and the portions are very generous! A complete worth of money! Must try!

Jeremy Schaller

Delicious food, great presentation and warm, friendly atmosphere. I've recommended Maro's many times now and so far all who've tried it have loved it. Lots of great options for vegetarians and vegans as well. Anything fried cauliflower is pretty much my favourite. Definitely a high recommendation from me.

Andrea Santos

Owner was so kind and the food was very flavorful; tried the bella and the beast and lebanese cavapi. Portions were generous as well!

Suzan Samivand (Suzi)

The food was great, you could not go wrong if you choose to eat here! The portion was big, it was a bit pricey, also we were told only cash or etransfer. It can be weird but the food worths it. definitely recommend and would visit again soon

Kassra Mobini

Maro's isn't just about the amazing food being served, it is all about the experience and the hospitality of its amazing team. It is a must try specially with the addition of Narenj next door????

Kalpana Chatnani

Such a fun little place...bustling even on a weekday..while the myriad other joints next to it were empty. The food is fabulous.. loved everything we tried...the shrimp, the chicken shawarma and Lila Jars..tea reminded me of the kahwa made in northern India.. absolutely delicate and a delicious way to end the meal.

Tina Leung

Super cozy restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The designs and deco were simple yet chic. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it alot. The Turkish coffee was served in a beautiful teaware. The deep fried cauliflower deserves a special shout out!

Nerisha Ib

The ambiance is very nice. Patio/inside is cute. Food is simply amazing. Service was great. Definitely recommend this place.

Alison Toth

Excellent food and service. The owner was exceptional. I was there with my young daughter, and he personally brought her a bowl of rice without charging us for it, and at the end surprised her with a kinder egg. Will definitely return.

K W

Excellent food and environment ! Definitely worth a visit.

Simon Holden

Super food, really great value and cool vibe.

F A

Food is yum. Staff is super-friendly. Best thing is that all items are halal. We tried the fried cauliflower dish, it was different but sooo tasty!

Dante Perrotta

Maro has done a fantastic job with this place. My friends and I have been coming here sporadically for a few years now, and if we liked the food before, we love it now. The service is always casual but friendly, the food is prepared with care, and the atmosphere always makes me happy to be there. I really like the direction they've gone with the menu, I usually get a burrito here because it's a favourite, but there are so many new and wonderful dishes that I'm excited to try!

Annette Orr

Absolutely amazing food! Good portion sizes for what you are paying. Nice small little restaurant, very cozy and warm atmosphere. Open kitchen. Quick service. Servers are very nice and welcoming. Love all the fresh made dips. Does not disappoint! Everything is good and worth trying!

Amrutha Srinivas

Three of us went to Maro's for lunch today. We were all blown away by the food served. This has been by far the best Mediterranean restaurant in GTA. Will definitely go back to this place. Ordered the Bottomless Persian Tea, Phoenecia Garden, The Veggie Tower, Middle Eastern Bowl and Baklava. Delicious delicious food and gorgeous plating of every single dish!

Abhishek Gautam

Hands down the best Mediterranean restaurant I have ever been to! It was so good that I try to explore other Mediterranean restaurants now but none of them come even close to this one. I highly vouch for this place.

Finn Shepherd

The place offers a vast variety of delicious food. I enjoy eating here. The employees are always super friendly, pricing is affordable and the place is always neat.

Corinà Bleoca

What a nice surprise, a good restaurant in Oakville. The food is perfectly cooked and aromatic spices give each dish a perfect flavour. Generous portions, would be recommended to be shared with your company. Will be back for sure, to taste more from their menu.

James Marcaccio

Delicious food and wonderful staff. The menu is an interesting display of Middle Eastern cuisine in ways I had not seen before. We had both vegetarian and meat dishes, though portions are quite large! I would order 3 dishes for 4 people without anything leftover, although the staff kindly gave us take out boxes for what was leftover. I think my favourites were the Bella and the Beast - a fried cauliflower, but not heavy like you might think and with a delicious hummus - and the Day in a Lebanese Mountain, because those eggplant and masala were fantastic!

Shen Walji

Dan Cooper was kind enough to put on a wonderful spread of delightful dishes from Maro for a team event of ours last night. I loved every portion on my plate from the beef and chicken kabobs to the variety of salad and assortment of dips. Light, healthy and FULL OF FLAVOUR!!! Yum!!! Can’t wait for my next meal at Maro. Keep up the good work!!

Ani Grigoryan

Delicious food, excellent service and great atmosphere!!! Highly recommend visiting!

Noemi Naje

Delicious dishes prepared with care and love! I would strongly recommend this amazing place!

Dark Impact

What a great place for vegan and vegetarians as well as meat consumers. The place is Lebanese themed and the food is excellent. If you are from the middle east you will not be super impressed. If you are not, you will like the food. This is a great fusion and if your pallet is not accustomed to a certain taste, you will love the food. The service is quick and prompt once you order. However, once you order, you are on your own unless you seek attention of someone (hence the 4 stars). The outside is really nice and funky. The music is definitely Arabic.

Andrea Villegas

Many good things: Parking place behind the restaurant. Inside is cozy, outside there is a DJ and bar tables. Original drinks. Every plate we ordered was delicious, it is even hard to say which one was my favourite. The portions are beyond good we ate a lot and ended up having the rest for later.

Nariman Selimkhanov

Yammy and fresh mediterranean food. Plentiful portions. Fast and polite service. (Overpriced alcohol...) Would return and recommend.

Rohan

This is my second time coming here and it does not disappoint. This time we ordered the Bella and the Beast and Lunch in Beirut. It's fairly expensive but the portions are huge and the food is amazing. So flavourful and they really use high quality ingredients. I also love the small touch of having water carafes with lemon and mint inside. Service is always great and prompt however keep in mind it does get busy at times, especially during lunch. I'm a meat eater but this place has tons of veggie options that look delicious too (such as Bella and the Beast).

hassan Al Gailani

The food and service at Maro’s is absolutely phenomenal! The place has a very rustic vibe with old middle eastern music playing in the background. I’ll definitely recommend this place to my friends and be coming again!

Eric

Really good food and helpful staff. The portions are massive!

Mina Ragaie

Short version; Great tasting food in large portions served by helpful staff with **genuine smiles** on their faces. This place redefines what a full star rating means. Long version; They accommodated our large group of 17 less than an hour before closing time. Stayed a bit late to serve us. Did not rush us while ordering. Prepared a large table for the group on a 40 min notice and was able to move us to another table when we arrived. The manager Remon looked really concerned when he realized that the high table he prepared for us might not be suitable for some of us (kids and elderly) something we should have communicated before hand. Luckily another table cleared up. Food was spot on. Authentic and tasty. They did advice about the portion sizes being large. We probably should have listened. I highly recommend "here comes the bride" from the menu. Share that plate with someone if you're not super hungry. This is really one of few places where I can't find anything to criticize. Hats off!

Peter Devitt

Our party really enjoyed the food! The service was great. The atmosphere was right for the place - rustic tables, open view of the kitchen, Lebanese art on the walls. If you are in Oakville, just plain go there. Definitely make reservations for the dinner hour, especially on the weekends.

Syed Zuhair Naqvi

Cute quaint place, but the food was average, and served in a stylish but very silly way. The meat is covered with onions and other vegetables. Staff and management are very nice. Just need to improve the food presentation. Quick service also.

Toronto Area Reviews

I ordered takeout, Memories of Persia meal (beef shawarma sauteed with onion and peppers, potatoes, drizzled w/ pomegranate molasses and rose water). It comes with 6 slices of pita bread, and two different sauces on the side (white, hot). It was $23 and the portion was huge, way too much for one person. The pita bread was very hard and didn't seem fresh. Beef tasted OK however meal included ingredients not listed on menu and I didn't like the white sauce as it tasted very tangy. The entire meal tasted fairly bland and there was so much liquid at the bottom of the box, it was pretty gross. I also had a side of hummus ($8) and found this to be the best part, it was delicious. The space is fairly small, with a dozen or so tables squeezed in. I went around 2:30pm and it was not very busy at all, I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Parking is limited on the street out front however there is a small parking lot at the back of the building. The place was very clean inside and the staff was pretty nice. Overall I found it pretty disapointing, I had high expectations based on all the good reviews but I thought it was a mediocre experience at best, nothing special. I feel it is overpriced for the quality of food and tries to make up for it with a large quantity. I might give it another try one day (different meal and dining in vs takeout) but it won't be any time soon.

Nazar Ajeely

Wow .. what an amazing food and atmosphere One of the best representation of the middle eastern cuisine in the GTA Highly recommended They have great arak and great selection of food Egg plants and falafel and chicken ... wow ..

Zora Farkas [Student]

Extremely disappointing. The quantities were small and thrown into the box like slop and the ingredients were low quality. Was good in the past, but this place is cutting corners big-time and majorly skimping. We paid $53.00 dollars and we might as well have eaten at Mc. Donald's. We will never eat here again.

Mash

Natalia was a great host and the food was delicious ! Make sure you check out the bakery next door as well, stunningly decorated!

Huzaifa Mohamed

Great food. The Pride of Persia and the Bride were very tasty. Vegetables were fresh. Just be careful the portions are big for two normal adults.

Lindsay

We just stumbled upon this little place and are SO HAPPY we did. No complaints. Everything was AMAZING and very well priced. The food is all fresh and healthy, the staff are ALL super friendly and my family is now obsessed with this place. MUST HAVES: Persian tea (similar taste to Earl Grey tea), Tandoori Grilled Chicken Breast (to die for, the seasoning is perfect) and fried cauliflower. AN OAKVILLE GEM.

Abdulrahman Almahaini

Nice decor and good service but the flavor of the food is not as good as you would expect

Kelly Breard

Love this place!!! Recommended by a friend and was very pleased. Food was spectacular - try the cauliflower (Belle something?) dish - it is to die for! Service was good. Went for lunch and the place was packed. Many vegan dishes in the menu. I will be back for sure!

David Bowman

Noisy with bench seating but food to “die for”. Great friendly staff who effectively deal with crowds of people trying to eat there. The food is fresh, tasty and Middle East exotic. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are sick of the same old, same old. Manos is ideal for people who are vegan or vegaterian inclined. Make no mistake that there meat dishes as well. I cannot wait to go back to try some more of their outstanding dishes. Oakville is fortunate to have this gem!

James Takeya (KrankedMusic)

The staff was always in a rush but always friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing and would love to come again. Be aware this is family style and we made the mistake of ordering too much but it was worth it!

Rishi P

Just had an amazing dinner out after so long and the food and service was amazing!! Natalia was our server and went out of her way to make sure our mum had a great birthday so special mention to her she was awesome!

Roseanna

This is such a cute place. It’s got a great vibe and the food is very good. Lots of vegan options to please. The fried cauliflower is so very addictive.

Andres Sanchez

Insanely good restaurant. Middle Eastern food, delicious, big plates and amazing presentation. The restaurant is cozy and beautiful decor. Fantastic customer service, is a must visit.

Ruwan J

Maro's food is simply the best middle eastern food I've ever had! Every time we come here we try something new and are always blown away by the taste. The last time we were there, we tried the sea bass (Here comes the Bride) and now it's my new favourite dish! Not only is the food good, but Maro's hospitality is great. He is such a great guy and takes so much pride in his restaurant and food. I can't say enough about this place. Definitely stop by for a great meal and experience.

Nicholas Walker

Good Lebanese food, reimagined! We were told that Maro's served their food "family style," meaning dishes could or should be shared. We ordered a bunch of dishes, all very tasty, but we were given no serving spoons. It is a small detail that every Chinese restaurant remembers but Maro's forgot with every one of the five dishes. I feel bad giving only 4 stars instead of 5, but details are what makes the difference between good and great.

Katie Dyson

Always an amazing meal here and great staff. Wonderful new patio! The prices have gone up slightly, but you get what you pay for!

Nomad Bakr

Great spot for Middle Eastern fusion cuisine. The atmosphere suits everyone from couples to larger groups and families. Amazing menu with many options between vegetarian and meat dishes including seafood. Excellent fast service and super friendly staff. It could get really busy during lunch and dinner time so reservation is recommended.

Vahel Mzouri

Very wonderful atmosphere and pleasent and wel imformed staff, would recommend if you are looking for fresh healthy uplifting foods.

Cindy Chang

Ambiance is great, food is fresh and delicious and staff are warm and inviting. Prices are high but the portions are very, very generous. Dining with 4 people, we shared a MIDDLE EASTERN BOWL, which was a mix of their spreads. I would say this was a highlight because we got to taste all their best dips with pita. I ordered a LUNCH IN BEIRUT, with delicious chicken shawarma. HERE COMES THE BRIDE had fried fish, the flavors were great but I’m not a huge deep fried fan. We got their famous BELLA AND THE BEAST- that cauliflower and the hummus, paired with the beets were out of this world. The BEFORE SUNSET was lovely too, with a bit of a spicy kick. Again, portions are huge, so it’s good to share or order accordingly. Great place, highly recommend!

Aahil Moosa

Amazing food, the host is a rly nice guy to

Kiran Varughese

Amazing Middle Eastern cuisine. Generous, shareable portion sizes. Bursting with flavour. Service was impeccable. Ambiance was homely and bright. Cameron's beer, Ksara wine and Lebanese arak-based cocktails.

Rula B. Morcos

Excellent selection in a menu, tasty fresh food, beautiful ambience and friendly service. Thank you

M Wang

Very satisfied. Huge serving size. 5/5

himanshu sarin

Great food, could possibly be the best Oakville downtown place, better than some other overrated places around.

Ayesha Kashif

After a very long time I had the best food I could ever have. I loved their fatoush salad, chicken and shawarma. My go to place from now on.

Karin Eaton

An interesting selection of Middle Eastern food with good vegan options too. Portions are generous. Great for sharing. The Memories of Persia was delicious.

Kim Dias

Maro's is absolutely incredible!! The food is so delicious and the ambience is very pleasant- cultural and quaint. We ordered the Lebanese Cevapic (left) and Taste of Persia (right), both a MUST TRY!! The quantity of food is a LOT, we took half of what you see in this picture home! The staff are really nice and its located in a convenient place too. They also have MANY VEGETARIAN and Gluten free options!!! I would highly recommend going here! Best Mediterranean place i have been to in a long time

Emm Pea

Delicious food with generous portions. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Features vegetarian and gluten free options.

Zakariya M

The owner is super attentive and checks in with you at your table. He will walk around if it's not busy asking if he can get anything or clear the table. Food is tasty and greatly presented. The location is small inside but that comes with whatever real estate you have. Would recommend to others!

Effie Siamalekas

My boyfriend and I LOOOOVE Maros! We live in Toronto and often make the trip to Oakville just to eat here or grab takeout. Maro is the coolest and nicest man, who has the best food in the GTA! So many vegan options! And we always... ALWAYS get the cauliflower.

Saim I.

Awesome food very good quantity and trust me it was great knowing the items we got were all dairy free. I ate without any care and the taste was amazing. Service can improve a bit but we didn't have any complaints. Will definitely revisit with family next time.

Kate Gardiner

I think Maro was having a major off day when we went, given the other positive reviews. Our issue was the very slow service - ordered at 6:30, didn't get our food for ~45 minutes (3 people and we ordered 2 dishes: the sandwich platter and a salad bowl) and on top of that, we ordered haloumi + dips as an appetizer which didn't arrive until we were done our mains at 7:50pm (we sent it back as we thought they just forgot this!). It took another 15-20 minutes to pay our bills because the server decided to take orders for a table of 15 in between. Food was OK - the fried food looked and tasted burnt probably because of old oil. Also, small gripe, but they didn't have ice for drinks! We wouldn't return here.

Kylie Conner

Just visited Maro's today for lunch and it was incredible! The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere and decor was really cute and of course the food was phenomenal. I had the "Bella and the Beast" bowl (vegan) which was the perfect amount of food and an awesome value - it came with the best cauliflower I've ever tasted. They had plenty of vegan and gluten free options which is amazing since other restaurants usually only offer 1 vegetarian dish or none at all. Will definitely be visiting Maro's again to try more of the dishes! So glad we stumbled upon this place :)

Amber Rodgers

I can't say enough about the service and quality of food. I ordered catering for 10-20 people three times over the course of two weeks. Each time was fantastic, all my guests loved it.

Peter Arth

So good, worth the wait if there is a line. Such good flavours, colours, smells.

Faraz Bajwa

Food was great. But, unfortunately one of the servers (with glasses and a beard) was behaving quite oddly with us. He was acting very passive aggressive as his service was rude enough for me to leave this review. He refused to even utter a word to us even when we spoke to him. I’m hoping it didn’t have anything to with the fact that we are visible minorities. This really left us with a bad taste after having such a wonderful meal. I may or may not give this place a second chance. Someone doesn’t respect my presence doesn’t deserve my money even if their food is out this world.

Sarah Silva

The food is always good here and it's a nice change from the typical downtown Oakville fare. Service was friendly and doing their best, but didn't have enough time to properly check in, refill water, etc. This is my fourth time visiting and I have to admit I am officially sick of how cramped and chaotic the place is...really hoping they're able to expand. If you get a table near the door, you'll get a draft and the people waiting will be hovering over your meal. Try going at an off-peak time for best experience.

Nicole Adams

Wonderful lunch! Good service, nice outdoor seating.

Fadi Jimblat

Hands down one of the best spots for your night out / order in... Maro's food and specialty drinks (which you won't find anywhere else) is full of amazing flavours and his menu will never disappoint you. Consistency in amazing flavours and presentation. I love the new decor!

Zainub Q

Food was absolutely delicious! I got the Babel and I absolutely loved it! We also ordered the falafel from the add on menu as an appetizer and we got a lot! Great portion sizes!

Pablo Agüero

One of the most popular places for trying food in town: the Food is good!! Will come back soon. The service is great, kind and lovely people. The Turkish coffee is the only one they have but is worth it

Jad Dennaoui

Great restaurant to go to with friends or family. But honestly why not bring both. This restaurant may look and feel small but the food is huge! You cant go wrong when ordering something at Maro's

Silvia Pachon

Great food Flavors are amazing ! Perfect spot to try multiple dishes. Don't go without trying their roasted coliflower it's delicious

Thistlecreek Health Care Inc.

Fantastic atmosphere, great food, friendly staff!!! We had our annual Christmas party for our company in this December. We had a great time!!! We will come back again :-) Thank you Maro!!!

Andrew Giorgio

Love this place. Classic dishes with amazing presentation.

Zainab Al Tukmachi

One of our favorites. The place is beautifully decorated. The service is good. The food is GREAT. everything tastes out of this world and you’re almost guaranteed to have leftovers because the portions are massive. And somehow, the leftovers taste even better. The Cauliflower is a must-try.

Linda Thompson

Just try it! Outstanding cauliflower dish! (Bella and the Beast) Very large portions. Amazing flavours.

Teo Manning

Since I’ve discovered this restaurant, I am officially addicted to coming almost weekly. Great place to go with a girlfriend and catch up over huge portions that are definitely shareable. Or bring the whole family. The flavour and colour and freshness of the food is amazing. You have to have the Tea! It can be busy at peek hours but soooooo worth the few minutes wait at times. Everyone there is so friendly! I’m treated like family there. Maro what an awesome place you have! See you again and again! ????

Drishti Chawla

Even with covid precautions taken into account, Maro has not compromised on service or taste. The process of getting a table to our food being served was very well thought out. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience!! Definitely do try their Bella and the beast- it has cauliflower that will taste like heaven!!

Bakery Addiction

Extremely big portions!!! Almost ridiculously big. When I pay I told them, they should tell costumers that they are big. Nice presentation on the plates

stephanie zheng

Food was good but extremely overpriced. Came on a Sunday, waiter informed us that it was "Cash only sunday". Never heard of such rule. Seems questionable, we asked for just water and was served bottle water since they didn't offer tap water (waiter didn't say anything about this), ended up charging us $ 2.5 for each water bottle. There was no hand sanitizer and the chef was not wearing a mask when cooking. Overall it was a very questionable business Will not come back.

The quality of food was good but the meat in the food was not that good. It’s was a bit pricy. The most important negative point was accepting only cash, which was so awkward.

Ghina Said

Maro's combines the essence of authentic middle Eastern cuisine, served with a hint of playfulness and fun. The servings are enormous, playing on the middle Eastern traditions of sharing food with loved ones and they are yummy! We ordered a plate that was off the menu since we wanted to taste a little of everything Nd we were only 2. Raymond helped craft this plate for us after asking us a few questions about our preferences and Holly, the awesome waitress, was also pitching in and helping us choose. In the end, our plate was scrumptious and our experience was amazing. It felt like we were at someone's home, or better yet, part of their family. I would highly recommend Maro's to everyone, but be warned, it does get busy so you might have to wait. Also, his menu does cater to everyone as it doesn't only offer meat and veggies options, but also gluten free and vegan as well!

I really don't understand what the hype is, I am honestly wondering if we just came at the wrong time. Just to set the scene here - it was a group of 5 of us for a dinner past 8 pm on a weekday. I don't quite understand the theme as it seemed like a pseudo-fusion with Lebanese and Persian. Bottom line, the food was good but cold - the beef was cold yet the chicken was warm - I am wondering if this is a lunchtime type of restaurant. We followed all of the server's suggestions and ordered approximately 6 dishes. The surprising thing was that the burrito was great! The decor is cool but strange as well - there was a lot of pre revolution Iranian art on the wall.

Aicha Hassani

Great food and great service! I've ordered "before sunset" and my fam ordered "here comes the bride" and I gotta say the fish in second dish was the best I had so far. Will definitely visit again ????

Rin Van

Dined in with two friends on a Friday night at 6 pm. Place was busy, but tables were available so we didn’t have to wait. Pro tip: There’s free parking behind the restaurant. We ordered Bella and the beast (cauliflower dish) and the Lunch in Beirut (chicken shawarma). Food was good. Cauliflower was delicious. Hummus tasted fresh. I really wish we could have ordered the Lunch in Beirut with beef but it was sold out. I would definitely return to try their other dishes. I’m thrilled that 1/3 of their menu is vegan!! The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is because the server was not very helpful. We informed him that it was our first time eating this kind of cuisine, and he still didn’t offer much help. “What’s popular on the menu?” “Everything.” Alrightyyy.

Taylor Reynolds

Oh my heavens, what a treat! The menu is limited but my dish was amazing and other patrons around me were enjoying their food as well. It's a cozy setting, and not a lot of seating but well worth the trouble of finding parking.

Marcelle Al Eid

Great to have such a delicious Lebanese Cuisine with a twist in Oakville. I loved the decor. Sure recommend it.

Fadia D

Lovely gem in Oakville. Different twist on middle eastern cuisine. Service was quick and really helpful in guiding us on what to order for a fairly large group so we would be able to share and have a taste of each dish. The salads were standout in my opinion- would be willing to come back solely for another delicious salad! Really refreshing to come across a find like this restaurant.

Ryan D'souza

Great place with with a unique twist to your regular mediterranean food. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and super fresh. The portions were huge. The restaurant's atmosphere was cool, I like the music playing. There is also has a cute little patio.

Ilya Grigorik

Generous portions, mouthwatering dishes. The veggie tower is a must. Great options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.

Sean Michael Kerner

Great food / restaurant isn’t licensed and beverage choices are limited

Audrey Sto. Domingo

I had a large group dinner at Maro and WOW, what an amazing experience!!!! First, the food is DELICIOUS! We had the chicken, fish, falafel and cevapi and they all exceeded our expectations! The flavours were authentic Lebanese. Secondly, the owner and staff were friendly and so accommodating for our large group. They made sure we were comfortable, relaxed and well fed! Last but not least, the restaurant itself is so cute! It’s a cozy restaurant with a boho vibe. I highly recommend Maro to everyone. I will definitely be back!!!

Amana Bouzrara

I absolutely loved the restaurant! Great ambience, nice and cozy, friendly staff and mouth-watering food! Their portions were big, and very reasonably priced. Special thanks to Rimon and the chef, Moe, for making our visit so special! Will definitely be back :)

Hai Vu

Great location. Fun decor. Tasteful youthful music. High-end middle Eastern food at middle-end prices. Warning: the portions are huge.

Syed Haider

Worst Mediterranean food I have ever had. I need to go to better places to find my taste again that I lost today at this very place.

ridhita ghose

There is a small patio with shade with four 6-person table. Also two non-shaded 6-person table. Food was good. We waited for water a couple of times but I understand we sat outside and it was during lunch hour. All in all, it's a good place. There is parking behind the restaurant as well as on street parallel parking infront of it.

Stuart Germain

Excellent food. With fresh ingredients and excellent flavours. The staff were friendly, helpful, and did an excellent job of explaining menu items. Presentation was good, portions were large, and the atmosphere was great. Definitely would recommend!

Danyal Syed Ali

Tried the Maro Special with Tandoori Chicken and Persian style minced beef, and both were great! Massive portions so one dish could easily be shared by two.

I never write reviews but this time around I had to write one as our experience is still not sitting right with me. We walked in to Maro’s last night with a party of 5 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. To preface, the food was absolutely fantastic. The fried halloumi, the chicken shawarma and the sea bass was bang on. Our server who I think also mentioned that he was the manager was genuine and funny. He made some really good recommendations and made sure we ordered the right amount of food. The food was out in a timely manner and we were delighted that we’d chosen to dine here. This is when things took a drastic turn. Our server did not come by to check how we were doing for awhile. We flagged down other servers to get us water, bread etc. Suddenly he showed up at our table disgruntled and began clearing plates. My wife wasn’t done eating and he literally swiped the plate from her. Someone on the table asked him about the dessert that we ordered and he muttered something under his breath and walked away. Finally he came by to ask sternly if we wanted the bill. He dropped the bill , handed us the credit card machine and walked away to the back to chat with his other coworkers. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this at any restaurant. Whatever happens, you usually wait around while someone is paying and give them their receipt unless the restaurant is so busy that you have to run to your next task. Which wasn’t the case here, hence highly disrespectful. My mother in law being nice did leave him a fat tip before I could check it but I really don’t think he deserved it. We paid and left the machine on the table, tore the receipt and couldn’t wait to get out of there. While leaving the other staff members were again really nice except for our server. There’s no way to know what transpired between getting us our food and the next time he came to our table but this definitely made everyone at the table really uncomfortable. I still want to give him the benefit of the doubt and think that something elsewhere ticked him off but we definitely bore the brunt of it. For an evening that started off so well the ending definitely left a lot more to be desired.

U P

Food here is always on point, providing an abundance of bold flavours. Sometimes the wait for food can be a little long but so worth it. Shame they got rid of Le Gourmand off the menu, yet still plenty to choose from. Here Comes The Bride is always a must! Edit on last few revisits: Not sure what’s happened here but customer service has gone down the pan. The same friendly atmosphere is non existent and bizarrely, when paying cash, the server automatically took a tip out when returning change. Speechless. Fix up.

Ewa Habrowski

We've ordered from Maro's 2x now during last few months and both times we've received fantastic flavourful food, great portions, and the bella and the beast ... divine! Excited to have it in person.

shalika katial

Super yummy! Beauty of the food, Quality, quantity excellent! Going again for sure… ???? owner ????

bryan lai

Delicious food! Friendly staff. Really loved it

Sarosh Malik

Busy place that well deserves a credit with fast service, nice staff, and delicious entrees. Tried the chicken shawarma style plate over hummus and it was phenomenal from the quality of the meat to the seasoning in the dish. A high recommend for anyone. They’re also vegan friendly.

bahar

Drove from North York for this food after hearing so many good reviews about it. ABSOLUTELY worth the drive. It was one of the best infusion middle eastern cuisines my fiancé and I have ever tried. He brought us the fish( here come the bride) magnificent ( my fiancé does NOT like seafood and he left all the other dishes just to eat the fish) We had Fairouz which was one of his newer dishes amazing AMAZING, we also had Lebanese cevapi which was mustard chicken breast with Muhamara sauce and he brought us cauliflower with a couple of dips to start which was outstanding Definitely will be coming back soon

Traveling The World

This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. They have some amazing dishes, with meat, vegetarian or vegan. We have had a few of their dishes, and they have all been very good. You have to order a Turkish coffee to end the meal.

Youssef Habib

Maro’s is not your typical Mediterranean restaurant. The menu is authentic, yet creative. The food is beautifully and thoughtfully plated. Best of all, everything tastes great

Senka Ekmescic

Amazing atmosphere, food and service. Modern twist of lebanese food with a few delicious bosnian dishes. Just amazing. Our waitress was Natalie and she was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Eventhough the restaurant was super busy she took the time to go over her favorites and explain the menu thoroughly. Will definately be back. Thank you Natalie for excellent customer experience.

Farhan Huda

Excellent taste and quality, nice ambiance!

Jelena Predmerski

Great food, huge portions! We'll be back!

The Gavin Chen Team

Great spot with healthy food in downtown Oakville. Not your average Middle Eastern Food...Must try. Photos: Bella and the Beast is a favourite (fired cauliflower, hummus, cabbage, beets, quinoa. Dandelion salad.

Andy P

It was indeed middle eastern cuisine with a twist. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There is a huge outdoor seating area so we sat outside. Lunch in Beirut and dandelion salad were pretty good. Bella and the beast came with a whole head of cauliflower and it was delicious. The nuttiness of the fried cauliflower and the hummus went really well together. The spicy couscous and pickled cabbage provided nice acidity to cut out some of the creaminess. Anywho I'm tired of writing but one thing to note - they give you garlic & hot sauce by the bottle. This was prob the highlight of my experience.

Liu Michael

The food is here are so so so so so good omg. I can't believe I can still get excited over middle eastern food after all the crappy shawarmas I ingested in the past. As they advertised, they truly transformed the middle eastern cuisine experience. It's just too good. P.s the price don't matter when the food is that good.

J.T. WASCHKOWSKI (TUBES)

I am a private chef in Oakville and this is without any shadow of a doubt the most exciting food you will eat period. Every time I am not cooking at home - it can only be MARO’S for me, my family and friends. Your taste buds will sing with the sensational selection of incredible Middle Eastern, Lebanese cuisine - unbelievable vegan dishes and an inclusive vibe that will keep you coming back again and again. I am just so impressed with Maro and his food vision - it is such an amazing reflection of putting your heart on a plate, and creating an experience that always has a smile from ear to ear on my face, before, during and after every visit. Run, don’t walk and say hello to Maro - he doesn’t hide in the kitchen - he is the face and vision behind this deserved success. Make it your go to place too and be a part of the most exciting food story in the GTA!

joshua bloom

One taste of the hummus and I was back in Tel Aviv. The flavours are truly authentic and the options are plentiful for both carnivores and vegetarians. Coming back... a lot.

Larry

Amazing food, great environment. Owner is really great if you have a chance to talk to him. Food is very diverse and has great flavors!

Subhas Ganguli

Good middle eastern vegetarian food. Somewhat surprised that when you pay $60 for lunch they insist on charging $2.50 for a plastic bottle of water and claim they can’t give you a glass of tap water.

Sarah A.

Pretty colours on the wall, meh food. Front door broken so we spent the meal freezing. Servers took wearing masks and checking vaccine cards as a joke. We ordered a side and didn’t receive it. And the waiter needed to be flagged down. We had to ask for the bill after about 35 minutes after the plates had been cleared and even then it was 5 minutes of waiting before the waiter came and reset the machine for each of us in the party to pay. Super underwhelming and clearly

Roman M

Beautiful little restaurant. Wow.. where to start, decor inside very simple, clean and looks wonderful. The seating arrangements are great, you are able to have a intimate dinner for 2 or have a group of up to 6 sitting very comfortably. If there is one complaint it would be that the menu is busy, but let me tell you it's worth the read. We had the cauliflower and the fried fish.. the hummus and sauces were all house made which were very tasty and the ingredients are super fresh.. to be honest this is the best bang for your buck you could ask for such homemade fresh food.. Ah make sure you try it!!!!!!! I live of Google reviews and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one. Also if staff does read this, I would kindly request Ayran to be added to the menu!!! It's a Middle Eastern staple and would complete this experience.

Elia Mazzawi

Very good food and service. Will go again.

Luke Heaslip

Generous portions, fresh top quality flavours, and pleasant staff. They also understand celiac (gluten allergy) and help provide options.

Solveiga La

YUM! Great place with huge portions and well worth the wait on a busy day. Service was ok, but food was well worth it. Tried the cauliflower and were not disappointed. They have a small outside area, which is a good option on a nice evening. It can get very busy, so be prepared to wait and look for parking. Nice Oakville gem

Saad Cheema

My family and friends have accompanied me to this restaurant a few times. I've had the babel twice before and wanted it to try it again. Unfortunately, as busy and helpful the staff is, by the time my turn came, babel was finished and all done for the night. As it has been sometime, Maro personally came to our table and apologized for the inconvenience we had. He made sure that one mishap did not ruin our night. Maros has great customer service to begin with but when they go above and beyond a customers experience, it is truly noted. Sadly I didn't capture any photos but I guarantee anyone going to this spot will have a great time with helpful staff and tasty food!

Omair Hasan

Good food, superb service and enjoyed the experience overall. After the food it’s a very nice transition to coffee and desert at their neighbouring cafe. If you ask they will give you a little tour of their deserts. I have tried few of them they were all good so far.

Heather Christine

Good food but not worth the awful service. Pros: pretty good food, fair portions, nice variety of healthy options Cons: horrible service (long wait time, complacent waitress, rude manager), wrong food order, odd presentation, dirty cutlery. I had a very poor, almost 2hr experience. The restaurant was busy but not hopping. We were seated right away as there were some empty tables. It took about 20m for the waitress to take our initial order (she wasn't pleasant). 10m later, she dropped off a water jug but no glasses. In the meantime, another group of 4 people sat down beside us, had their order taken, and food served. This group actually paid and left before we even received our food. Our waitress never came back, so we flagged down another waitress after about 25m and asked her if she could check on our food and get water glasses (this waitress was super nice and competent). She asked if we ordered meat dishes (we didn't), so she said there was no excuse for the wait. This waitress went to the kitchen, and it was obvious that they lost our order because she came back and asked what we had ordered and took that back to the kitchen. She said our order would be out in about 5m (a false promise, but to be expected). We then flagged her back down because there was a couple beside us who were becoming impatient as no one had taken their order (it was disappointing because this couple still received their food before us). Our original waitress came by our table about 10m after this and said hello, as if she had no recollection of taking our order... so I had to remind her what we ordered and asked her where it was. Awkward! About 1hr 15m in, we received our meals. Wouldn’t you know that they forgot the main part of my meal (falafel)! I flagged down our original waitress and asked where it was. She went to the kitchen and said it would be right out. I guess she realized we were unhappy so she offered us free dessert for all our troubles. I admit, I sarcastically said "OK" because I was frustrated and mildly insulted that they thought dessert (the cheapest thing a restaurant can make) would fix this. Thankfully, the food was good. My friend's meal was strangely presented to the point it was difficult to eat (she got an unconventional kebbeh with veg. croquettes). They used a cone-shaped holder to put a pita in, and then stacked the rice, veg, and croquettes all on top of each other. She couldn't pull out the pita because it would just all fall apart, so she kind of just had to dump it all on a small plate and it made a mess. It was wasteful because the pita really served no purpose other than a holder, plus we were served pita on the side for dipping anyway. Trendy-looking but not functional! Another small disappointment: when my friend went to use her cutlery, it was dirty. The nice waitress came around and offered me a box and said that she was aware that we were offered dessert. We thanked her but declined because we just wanted out of there. She came over with the machines, and I asked her if there was any way our meals could be discounted due to poor experience. She spoke to the manager who I overheard sigh and say "just give them certificates”. The waitress offered this, to which we declined because we were both from out of town. We overheard the manager say, “but they’re new!”. Finally, the manager came over and offered us $10 off of our meals. We told her that the nice waitress was awesome, but it seemed like she didn’t have the time of day for us and then also followed up with, “well these waitresses are new”. It was brutal to hear that because we had no complaints about the nice waitress and it seemed like the manager was just passing blame to her staff instead of taking responsibility. Honestly the worst service experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I hope that they figure out a way to improve this because this restaurant has potential to be great… but as is, I can’t see how they’re going to last.

S A

Talk about hospitality!!!! The owner of this place is named Maro! He is extremely kind and fun! Passionate about hospitality and his food! He had a great selection at the bar which him and my husband really enjoyed! The food was spectacular! Great portions and well priced! The vibe of the restaurant was amazing too! We never wanted to leave! He also owns the restaurant next door and the deserts there are amazing!!! Fully recommend both! Thanks Maro! From my husband, my mother and I!!

Tina Sharma

Amazing and unique food. Very different than your traditional middle eastern restaurant. We really liked the good selection of prepared meats and vegetables. Also go with the garlic potatoes you wont regret it

Urooj Khan

Great food and ambiance. Service is top notch even in these times with restrictions. You just have to make sure you don’t get seated on the table by the door. It keeps opening and the cold air comes and hits you but the staff is very good about keeping the door closed but customers will walk in every now and then.

Raymin Chen

Great service and food was delicious! We had the cauliflower, fish, mustard chicken breast and eggplant. Persian tea was awesome. A little cozy but we definitely enjoyed the experience. Middle eastern food is so good.

Lee Lee (LeeM)

Lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Very busy place with bench and table seats. In the summer they have patio seating, yippee! Friendly service. Ordered green kale bowl and the lunch in Beirut. Everything is fresh and tasty. Best kale salad I’ve ever eaten, EVER!! Definitely making this a regular spot!

Aisha D

I would give Maro’s 3.5 stars…so the food is very delicious and each item we ordered had great flavour (my favourite of the three dishes we got was “Here comes the bride” with the sea bass fish filet)…but I don’t know if it was because we got there at 12:10pm today and the restaurants had just opened up, but service was a bit messy/all over the place. I think the waiters hadn’t started yet or were running late but, who I presumed to be the owner, was a little frazzled. One thing I did not like was that the restaurant doesn’t offer tap water, you have to pay for bottled water ($2.50 per bottle). The drink prices (non-alcoholic) seemed high but they could be normal (for example, $8 for freshly squeezed OJ). Also, just before we sat down, the owner/person working there did let us know before we sat down that their debit/credit machine wasn’t working so they could only accept cash. I will come back for the food, but I will just gear myself for okay service next time.

S S

The food was amazing. Tried the beef, chicken and fish - they were all really good and cooked to perfection. The only issue was with the customer service - we had to move between the cafe and the restaurant twice. Something silly to note was that there were no regular soft drinks available (coke, gingerale etc.) and they did not have tap water available either (charge you for bottled water). Apart from these issues (that can/should be resolved), the ambience of the place and the taste & quality of the food were really good.

Arun Kochhar

A smart, trendy and very tasty take on modern middle Eastern cuisine. Typically busy, expect a minimum of a 20min wait even off hours. Staff and owners are friendly and attentive.

Kassem Charafeddine

This is not your typical middle eastern restaurant. The owner's creativity is apparent on the place. he gives you a hip and up beat atmosphere mixed with middle eastern culture and vibes. The food is also twisted and is not traditional middle eastern dishes. I personally thought it could be improved in taste wise and the mixture of food in the plate don't blend in perfectly regardless of them being not traditional. The chef is generous in his portions and the plates are blasting with colors. Again a creative and fun place to be.

Hameed Bhatti

Food was very good as usual with very large portions.

Colleen Murray

OMG! really amazing Lebanese food served very fresh and fast by friendly staff! Recommendations were right on. Gigi and Campbell waited on us and made us welcome for this first visit. We seek out extraordinary middle-eastern food around the world. Maro has hand-picked the dishes and created a very interesting presentation. We will be back tomorrow!

Wendy Perkins

Go there for the food! Finest fresh local food prepared Persian style! Super yummy, generous servings with easy accompanying dishes, A regular meet up place with local friends. And it’s also my go-to place when I want to show friends from out of town that Oakville has heart and soul, the staff is super friendly and Maro keeps the menu interesting!

Claire L

The food here is tasty, authentic and served in generous shareable plates. (Order one dish per person and share with the table.) Recently re-decorated and has a family feel. Maro himself if often there (he is known for his hats) and the service is quick and attentive. Great place for family meal or date. No reservations required. Currently covid protocols in place and all being adhered to (mask, check-in, passport) in a low-key unobtrusive way. I recommend Bella & The Beast, a facourite dish with deep fried cauliflower. Vegan and meat eaters can be accommodated here! Lots of healthy offerings, walking distance to lake.

Aleks Zgonjanin

Really great food. Was across the street for a haircut and asked the barber where I should go eat in the area. Without hesitation he told me to hit up Maro's. Glad I did!

PAMELA

My first and second visit was great, the food and the service I really love it. After that, every time was just going bad, last time I ordered the veggie tower as usual and I was expecting the avocado because that's why I ordered the plate, but they didn't have avocado and they didn't mentioned before, that felt bad, at least you should say and ask if I still want it or if can be replaced it with something else...but nothing...I am not sure if I will come back.

Greg Durkiewicz

Awesome food for a great price. Very friendly staff (Holly really rocks). The owner really knows his food and treats his customers with respect. Great place to hang out or to get the take out.... Strongly recommend this one.... Keep it up guys!

Ravi Aggarwal

Enjoyed the middle Eastern food. Good friendly service. We ordered a cauliflower fish which came with hummus and some condiments. Excellent. We ordered another vegetable dish and a side order of chicken shawarma. All very good.

Carly P

Great family-style Mediterranean cuisine with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options! Large portions, plated nicely, and overall a really nice dining experience.

Fernanda Silva

We love Maro's! We adore their fried cauliflower and the kale salad. Memories of Persia is delicious. Their babaganush is fantastic. Not the usual bland food you find in Oakville. All the dishes we have tried are packed in flavour. We just don't like their pita bread. It is very dry. Feels like store bought. The fried fish is very tasty but last time we have ordered came dry so we will no longer take the risk ordering. Highly recommend!

Sarah Nagib

Incredible staff, ambience and food! I was here for a private event and was blown away by the service and quality! Truly a hidden gem that I’m glad I discovered

Rodger Glover

Great pandemic take-out. The food was delicous, reasonably priced and came in cardboard containers so no plastic or styrofoam for the landfill..

Asad Ali

Nice selection for different food lovers. Good size.portions so make sure you check before you order. My fav is the Lunch in Beirut.

SAZ

A great casual restaurant. The eggplant dish was especially good.

Daniela Furtado

Huge portions, delicious food and friendly service! Thank you.

Lydia Archer

We decided to try this place after it came highly recommended from a friend and I'm so glad we did. Everything from the food, to the quality of service to the ambiance was exceptional (despite COVID-19 safety measures). We had the pleasure of meeting and being served by Maro himself! As new vegans it's hard to find restaurants that are accommodating without feeling like we're missing something and Maro's blew us away! He recommended some generously portioned, flavourful and filling dishes that truly exceeded our expectations. I can't wait to go back!

Charlene K

Came for dinner a little while ago. 30 minute wait.. not too bad. The server was nice and tried to move people around. It's a little awkward when you get inside because there is no lobby. So you have to wait right next to tables while people are eating. The food was flavourful but there were small portions for my meal. Maybe I would try it again to give it another chance.

Mark Verdun

Awesome Lebanese food, very flavourful and fresh, great portions, lots of interesting choices for everyone. Quick service. Highly recommend it.

Silvana Briand

Maro's is a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant. The food is exquisite and so generous that a lot of people have to ask for take home containers. The service is super friendly however I would strongly recommend reservations as they have become extremely popular. The prices are ridiculously low and the only thing I could wish for is that they could double the floor space.

Kyle Hallman

Best Mediterranean restaurant in Oakville, bar none. The craft of good food, the plating and taste is all top notch. Price is fair for what you get. Dishes range from 10-20 dollars, but you will either be getting a large meal or 2 meals. The Lunch in Beirut is imo the best dish on the menu.

Tuomas Loiskekoski

Very good service & tasty food. Our group of 5 ordered 3 separate dishes and shared them, everything was very good. I especially recommend to try the hummus, it was delicious.

David Tucciarone (Core Worlds)

The food was excellent and reminded me so much of my friends Lebanese cooking. Great and friendly staff as well they have a cafe and bakery located next door.

Toob is Bood

Portion sizes are massive if you dine in, the objective is that you get a bunch of dishes and share with your group. The cauliflower is awesome, the fish is great, and the Soultan spice mix haunts my dreams. I once came in with a group of eight fussy people and the servers bent over backwards to help us. Well worth the higher price point. The dishes are definitely on the sour side, I guess they use a lot of vinegar. I wish there were calorie counts.

Princess Makiya

I’ve been to Maro’s many, many times and have had the pleasure of watching this bistro evolve. Not only is the food absolutely delicious but, with their open concept kitchen, you can see that all their dishes are made fresh and with passion and care. The service is exceptional - the decor, music and overall ambiance makes this a great place to enjoy the perfect meal. Thank you Maro’s for your consistency in the neighbourhood. I know I can always count on a good meal whenever I stop by.

Mohammad Nahangi

Wow. I have been to so many middle eastern restaurants in the GTA and I dare to call myself a professional in the middle eastern food. Maro's was definitely a different experience. We ordered taste of Persia and Simply love and we really liked our foods. I, personally, liked the taste of Persia for two reasons: (1) I am Persian, and (2) the mixture of beef with sauteed onion and green pepper was really unique and something I had never seen before in any middle eastern restaurant. I can't wait for my next visit to test and taste the other dishes.

Muhammad Fahad Rafique

Overall experience was good. Food was good and the ambience was adequate. Need to advertise being a halal food joint being one. Wait time is also another concern. Prices are on the higher end and can be made reasonable. Waiters/Servers are knowledgeable and friendly.

Alberto Rodriguez

Flavour on the chicken was average, food was a bit cold when dropped in our table. At this specific time the debit/credit machine wasn't working and we have to get cash to try this place. The portions on each serving was sufficient for the price. The menu apparently keeps changing so be aware if you liked something, that might not be there on your next visit. The cauliflower is a different taste, we liked it. Overall ok service, maybe a little bit more attention to the tables could improve overall experience.

Ali Ramadan

Wow! The food was amazing! I heard of this place from some friends and family and i decided to give it a shot and its more than i expected! The food was so fresh and full of taste. The atmospheres was warm and welcoming. The service was outstanding (thank you gigi!) And fast! Definitly coming back!

Magen Drexler

I called earlier in the week to book a reservation for 10, turns out I had 14 guests show up for dinner. I apologized to Maro for the confusion and he handled the mix up extremely well. While remaining calm, cool and collective he managed to get us all seated together. He took the time to personally explain the menu to us and told us to not be scared to try something new. My family likes to play it safe when it comes to food, but after Maros introduction to the menu id say over half my family tried something other then the burrito bowl that they were originally planning on getting. Overall my entire family loved the food, and were very happy that they stepped out of their comfort zone (Maros is defiantly the place where you can try anything on the menu and enjoy it no matter what) Thank again Maro and staff, you made my Moms birthday extremely enjoyable! Great company and food, what else could be better!

Christine Carreon-Meger

All the food here is delicious and always fresh! Portions are generous and staff is always so wonderful. Love that they have a patio out front and back right now.

Mishka West

Amazing place. The staff are fantastic at what they do even when it's crazy busy and the cooks are phenomenal at making great tasting food. Highly recommend this place. Well done guys. My server Campbell was especially talented.

H

Delicious food and awesome service. We ordered lunch in Lebanon and Bella and the beast. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasteful. Portion size is big. Staff was friendly and ambiance is cozy.

Rubina Nanji

The food was delicious and the service was great!! Portion sizes are big and filling! Will definitely go back again!

Bella

Had a pretty terrible experience today. I would like to start off by saying the seating was uncomfortable and definitely not safe. It was a weirdly high bench that was not stable whatsoever. At certain times, my friends and I felt like we were about to fall. Secondly, for some reason they don’t have any of their drinks on their menu which is a bit weird. I asked the waitress what type of drinks she had and the first thing she mentioned was a lemonade so that’s what my friends and I got. To be honest, none of us asked for the price of the drink because usually lemonade or any soft drink is around 5 dollars max at any restaurant. After getting the receipt back, I was shocked to find out that the lemonade was 10 DOLLARS! Although it was partially my fault for not asking how much the lemonade was, I was surprised that the waitress saw a bunch of teenagers and decided not to mention that a small lemonade drink was worth 10 dollars. I understand that this is a more ‘fancier’ restaurant but you’re genuinely just getting scammed. Furthermore, they forgot to give us any cutlery which is okay I mean everyone makes mistakes but they also forgot to give us our drinks at first so it definitely seemed like they were unorganized. To add, food wasn’t that good. Shawarma tasted like any shawarma I’ve ever had and it just had a couple of cucumbers and some beets on the side so nothing special. Definitely not worth 24 dollars! Lastly, they messed up my friends cheque and was charging the wrong people with the wrong items. when we asked about it, the waitress just told us to ‘figure it out with each other’. Terrible service and mediocre food. Will not be going here again!

It was my birthday and there was a small mix up at Maros end when making booking/reservation. We were a group of four and Maros made sure he arranged a table for us. Not only was the service exceptional but also the food was just amazing. We had a great time and it was a wonderful birthday lunch. Maros actually went out of of his way to make space for us, even after the initial confusion. Would definitely recommend ????????

Niraj Adhiya (Ninja)

Amazing food & service - we loved it & will return as loyal customers. Highly recommend Bella & the beast dish & lunch in Beirut & really anything on their menu. Tag line should be - it's really not Art - it's good food!!

Katie Drewes

Excellent quality food. Ask for extra garlic sauce.. it's yummy!

Nancy Yousef

I loved this place. Vegan friendly, and the food is simply delicious. The staff was super friendly, and helpful in choosing what to order. We did have to wait a while to be seated since we were a group of 8, so if you’re a big group reserve before you go.

Mahsa Salmani

It is a really cozy place in a nice and peaceful neighbourhood. The foods are delicious and varient, service is fast and the staff is extremely friendly. The place itself has a nice eastern-style decoration, suited for a relaxed weekend afternoon. I will be there soon for sure.

Anneka Holden

Absolutely delicious! Loved the atmosphere and the food. Prices are reasonable (though not cheap as the single $ on Google seems to imply) and servings are large. The waitress helped us choose dishes that worked well together as it was our first time. Will definitely come again.

Anthony Luo

Came here and I gotta say, the portions are huge. I came with one other person and we couldn't even a salad and burrito bowl. Definitely worth the money if you could finish it. The missing star was for pretty much non-existent service that we received, but can't blame them cause they were quite busy. Would definitely come back and recommend this place if you're super hungry.

Jude Kamal

I’m a regular at Maros, I always order the after sunset bowl, the veggie tower and Teta’s. All is unique and tastes great. They have great vegan and vegetarian options and also good meat options. Food is good and staff is friendly. I really enjoy my visits there.

1960funnygirl

Honestly the best falafel anywhere in town. So crispy, flavourful and light. The portions are really big, so it's really worth two meals, which makes the price really reasonable. Even the seating is unique--it's family style and although it's not particularly private, it's still fun. Definitely going back!

Divya Tewari

Great place for sit down authentic Lebanese food! Good service and a very cute rustic vibe to the venue itself. Do give it a try if you’re in the Oakville/lakeshore area!

Fatima Rawash

Best hummus you will get in the city (we usually get the Lunch in Beirut) ! the cauliflower is also a MUST TRY!

Rachel Wong

Food was good but service was unfortunately terrible. We weren't familiar with this type of cuisine so when inquiring about the menu items the waiter talked to us in a rude tone and seemed like he didnt want to explain anything. We felt rushed as well.

Misagh Aghili

Amazing service, amazing food! A great place to take friends and family. Prices are good for the portions you get. The ONLY thing I think they could improve on is their music selection. The store has a great vibe to it and I think could benefit from not playing modern pop music and playing traditional middle eastern tunes instead. Lovely place, will definitely return

keyhaneh vaseghnia

It’s a PERFECT Persian-Arabic restaurant with so many vegetarian options ???? the portions are big ????????

Filip Aleksanderek

Went here for a business lunch, great atmosphere, great service and delicious food. You have to try the Turkish coffee and amazing baklava

Ammar Altahan

No question on food quality and unique selections! The place is small and service is a hit and miss based on the time of the day. We asked about Halal status and strange enough that someone came from the kitchen told us they take all halal meat from a Chinese guy and he doesn't know where the Chinese guy gets it from. He said it in one sentence fast as if he was used to answering this question.

Mo Ali

Maro's is a pleasant surprise around the corner. The service was prompt and very friendly. The food was spectacular. I told the host I am vegan and he recommended some fantastic tasting vegan options! I highly recommend trying this place out because it's now my Go To for delicious hummus and Turkish coffee

Waleed Alsunbul

Simply ... You can not find this delicious tasty food anywhere else.

Erin Wyhoda [Staff]

Amazing food and the portion sizes are huge! Super reasonable prices for the amount you get, and everything is so tasty! Such unique and interesting dishes! Highly recommend!

ily pali

Great and creative dishes, tastes really nice, it was my first time there and won’t be my last!! The dishes are really huge and good for sharing that’s why the prices are a bit high, the restaurant area is small, the staff are friendly. Worth trying ????????

Shams Alkari

This is a proper Lebanese Mediterranean restaurant, great atmosphere, authentic aromas and atmosphere. The entrees are as beautiful and cleverly named as they are well prepared. The staff is really pleasant and it's great place to dine in, out or on the patio. Can't say enough great things, not to mention it's halal!

d roberts

Wonderful food and dining experience!

Zayad Sawan

Great food and excellent customer service. The owner, Maro, handles everything personally to make sure the food is perfect. Highly recommend this place for all food lovers. We keep going back because we feel like home dining at Maro’s. Thank you Maro to make us feel special every time.

Kristy Hall

My first time was an amazing experience ???? Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious and you could feel the love put into your meal ???? The resturant atmosphere was perfect and the patio looked beautiful too ???? I cannot wait to go back ????

Quentin Stossel

Great mix of a menu on the more traditional expectation of middle eastern food. The plates are nice. Not just your standard shawarma on rice. Much more thought put into it. Would suggest the Lunch in Beirut as a great shawarma dish to order.

Daniel Fernandes

Food was soooooooooooooo good! Big probs, great family style. Try to call ahead as they are always full. Don't think they take reservations, but call ahead they do. Order the fish that is fried in Moroccan spices. Whatever it was called, it was excellent.

Haiyan Zhao

This is second time to here. We ordered two meals. After eating, I tell waiter I am ready to pay.The waiter, a girl, just give a pos to me and the pos shows $56, I don’t notice if it is correct. Include the tips I totally pay $64 and she doesn’t give me the receipt. My son see the price say, impossible, it is wrong. So I calculate by myself, I just have to pay $45(include tax, before tips) . I ask the waiter if she make some mistake, she tell me she can’t find the receipt . I have to provide the proof by myself. I check my online banking and find this transaction. When I show it to her,She just ask me how much I want to refund ,finally she returns $12. No explanation , no apology, I feel very disappointed. I never write comments on google, just want to remind you , don’t shy to ask the receipt and check carefully.

Steven Rodriguez

Great value for your money. Large portions and the food was fantastic. The aromas coming off each of the plates we ordered were unbelievable. I had the "Babel" and my wife had the "Here Comes the Bride".

Kat Riccardi

I have never been disappointed with Maros. Food is consistently delicious. I love how they have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. There truly is not any other place like Maro's. Do yourself a favour and visit.

Bree Simpson

The decor at Maro’s is very thought through and aesthetically pleasing. The owner and the waiters were very nice when we first arrived but they were not very attentive after we were seated. We ended up ordering Lunch in Beirut and Mediterranean Pearl to share. The prices were on the upper end but the portions were large enough to rationalize the cost. Overall, the flavour was very good but each meal felt like it was missing something. The chicken shawarma was served with hummus, beats and cucumbers but it would have been better paired with rice or batata harra. The portion sizes of the fish were way too big, even to share. I think the food would be much better served tapas style to allow people to order a variety of things and share.

Dillon D'Souza

Has very quickly priced itself out. Maro's was always on the expensive side, but after lockdowns, has become very hard to justify the cost for what you get. It is still very delicious and the flavours combine in a great way, but at almost $30 a dish, not something worth having once a week, let alone once a month. *side note for acronophobes, I love spiders, but my two friends and I got a patio seat outside and after this summer we've had the patio area was littered with orb weavers or different sizes and atleast 2 male black widows.* (these are all non-venonmous)

Michael Mitchell

I love this place. I took my girlfriend there as a last minute dinner and she loved it as well. The portion sizes are definitely made for sharing. The staff is great as well.

Loving Our World

This was my first time going to Maros. A friend suggested it for our dinner get together and I'm so glad he did. Not only was the food delicious but the service was fabulous. We were even taken care of by two servers... Holly and Tamara. Thank you so much for everything. I'll be back soon to try some more dishes on the menu.

Mac Mehta

Great service and really good food!

Pavle Dakic

Came for lunch, was pretty busy. Service was fast and table turnover was high. Strongly recommend the cauliflower dish, as well as the shawarma. Great place for sharing food.

Asad Nasir

Went to this exceptional dine-in called Maros Bistro sometime last month. The food was amazing, but what beat everything was their exceptional customer service. They got late in serving our order for some reason, and to make it up-to us, not only were they extra apologetic, they offered us free drinks, baklawa and the fried cauliflower was also added for free without us even asking for it. The taste is so authentic. Would highly recommend. Dishes to must try: - Fairouz - Lunch in Beirut Wanted to try memories for persia but it was off menu for time being.

Sorina P

Maro's is a little gem with great food: fresh, super tasty, very well presented, large portions and friendly staff. The ambiance is family friendly with rustic decor, and a bit of a wait at peak times, but well worth it.

Nabeel Nasir (ilmaddict)

This restaurant serves halal meat with plenty of vegan options, featuring a Lebanese-themed cuisine. Patio seating available outside during the summer. They do take a while to prepare the food, so be sure to plan in the extra time for that when visiting

Andrew Duncan

Attended Maro’s for an engagement dinner this past Sunday. This being my second time here, I couldn’t have expected an even better experience than first. Walking in, the ambiance captures you immediately, as if you were just teleported to a small resto in the Middle East. And to be greeted by Maro himself, an enthusiastic, friendly and attentive host with the absolute most, made you feel as if you were royalty. Then there was the food, no shortage of it either. Thoughtfully plated middle eastern delicacies for our table to share, family style service at a cozy restaurant truly sets Maro apart from most restaurants. Everything tasted amazing, the kitchen definitely pays attention to flavours and seasoning that truly excite the taste buds. I live 30 minutes away from Maro’s but counting down the days til I can return. If you haven’t check it out, I promise you, you’ll find this review extremely accurate when you do.

Joel Gomes

Place has a rustic charm and the food is absolutely delicious! Not to mention the owner came around to make sure that everything was okay. I will definitely be visiting again

Danny Yousif

Congratulations for having the worst chicken shawarma I’ve ever tried in my life! Edit: Since you’re congratulating me for trying the worst shawarma you should really reevaluate yourself. I don’t know if you’re trying to be funny but you’re doing a very bad job at that too as you are with your shawarma. Just don’t congratulate someone after almost throwing up ????????????

CoMiC Bros

Excellent Middle Eastern food. There are a lot of Vegan, Vegetarian & GLuten Free options..

Moti Ahmed

Best place ! Been coming for years , consistently good and welcoming . Try the 'here comes the bride ' or the fish dishes

Issa Alsaadi

This is our second time to Maro's and unfortunately I'm changing my review from 5 to 3 stars. It just wasn't the same as when we visited in Oct 2019. This time, the lamb was clearly burnt in one of our dishes and it seems that not much attention was given to the rest of the food. The food seemed rushed. They were short staffed with one waitress and one cook and a third helping hand for a full restaurant. We asked for more tea at the end, and it never came, so we just went up to the till and paid there. We couldn't waive down the waitress to ask for the bill.

Aidan O'sullivan

Best food place ever! And now they deliver too. Family like vibe, and a great place to chill while you eat,the Maros company has been great since its reopening and even prior to that. The meat is seasoned perfectly the vegetables delecious and the vegetarian option are sometimes even better than the ones with meat. Best place I've ever eaten at and my personal favorite restaurant.

Daniel Wilson

Unbelievable restaurant. The Persian tea was great, the hummus and fattoush were perfect. Holly was very helpful in explaining everything and making sure we had an amazing experience.

Hina M

Wow! This place is amazing, it has such an authentic feel. The food is delicious and service great. Our server helped us decide what to get and we were definitely satisfied with the recommendation! If you plan to have dinner here on the weekend, get there early as they dont take reservations

Molly Benoit-Leach

This place is amazing! I googled vegan options in Oakville and it came right up. My server Stuart was phenomenal. He recommended the Phoenicia Garden bowl and I was not disappointed. I will be coming back here regularly to try other menu options. Affordable and delicious vegan options, this is my kinda place! Thanks Maro's!!

Debra Ward

Amazing food. Large portions. Great service. I had the deep fried cauliflower, beets, hummus dish and added chicken. It was delicious. I could only eat half and brought the rest home. Looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu that isn't 20 pages long! There's enough variety on one page to choose from.

Stu Young

I came here for the first time, and unbeknownst to me they had not opened yet for another hour. With their open arms and hearts they cooked me up a delicious burrito-style bowl! Outstanding hospitality, delicious food, and a great price! Could not recommend it to my friends and family any quicker!

Setaj Ladd

To my delight this place was a hit to my taste buds. The chicken was so tender and tasty, the portions definitely match the price. I recommend (if for two) sharing a couple of dishes would be the best way to go. These guys know what’s up and worth the money. Go hungry come out satisfied!

Ashna Samani

Wow! I have to thank my (recently converted) vegan brother, because if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be searching online for good vegan restaurants nearby. Luckily I stumbled upon this place, which offered plenty of vegan and non-veg options (for me!). We entered to an almost full, trendy, modern and cozy restaurant. This place was completely opposite from what you would expect from a shawarma/falafel restaurant. The server gave us the menu and offered her recommendations. She was extremely friendly. I wanted something light, so I ordered the kale salad and added for an extra cost the tandoori grilled chicken. My brother ordered the veggie tower bowl, which consisted of grilled vegetables laid over hummus. He also ordered an additional order of falafel. I was observing the foods that were being served to people around, and the presentations were beautiful. They also would come to the table and serve you baklava if you were up to it. Our food arrived within 10-12 minutes, and the presentation was just incredible. Our extra orders, for the price, were surprisingly large. Now to the grilled chicken...my first bite and I was in awe. That was one of the most succulent, flavourful tandoori chicken pieces I have had. It was so juicy, unlike the usual dry grilled tandoori chicken I would get at Indian restaurants. The salad was nice and fresh too. Half way through, I was extremely full, but I did not stop until I finished everything because it was too good to waste. My brother enjoyed his meal too, although I think he found the falafel a bit dry, since he didn't have any dip with it. But he did enjoy it, along with the veggie tower. My only complaint was that it was way too noisy in there, where I could barely speak. This was not the restaurants fault, just a really rowdy crowd that day. The prices were extremely reasonable for the quality and large serving sizes. This place is now my definite go to place and I highly recommend it!

Shantanu Bansal

How did I miss this place all these years?! Shame on me! An amazing birthday dinner meant a happy wife. And such pleasant and polite service. For the record, you have to try the following to fully appreciate the pure art at display: Here comes the bride Lunch in Beirut Maro Special Bella and the Beast And the bottomless Persian Tea! As I said, pure art!

Shehla Qureshi

Food was good! Ambiance was nice! I like to have platters where there is a meat, veggie and rice or pasta i just felt that was missing from this place its a little different when you order something know that it will likely come with maybe one side if that, however the flavors were great and food was fresh!

colt nicastro

Ammmmmazing food. We came on family day so it was quite busy and the wait was a bit long but for how busy it was we totally expected it. When the food came we were not disappointed at all. The staff is extremely friendly too. There was one table that did have to leave due to time constraint and we heard literally every employee provide their own apology and it was very genuine. Food and service 10/10

Sammy A.

As a person from a Middle Eastern background, I have been to a lot of middle eastern restaurants. However, I have never been to a restaurant that was as unique as this one. The food was absolutely amazing and worth the price, which is decent. I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I would highly recommend this place. I will come again if I visit the area anytime soon in the future. Thumbs up ????????.

Sagar Batra

First time visiting Maro’s. We went for our birthday Brunch. The tables were cleaned, staff were really friendly. Food was delicious. However the drinks were horrible. They were really strong. I don’t recommend the drinks on the menu. Please see picture below. The experience overall was great.

Chris M

I went to this Friday evening with my girlfriend and another couple. The ownership here is amazing . The service is second to none. The food was far beyond I expected . I never try new places but this for sure is recommended. And we will go back!

Fernando Valdes

This place is an absolute gem. Right from the start, the menu looked amazing and when the food arrived it was delicious. Maro and Afsan went above and beyond to make sure my friend's birthday was unforgettable - they even played some salsa music for us in the patio! Will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.

Michelle Salvati

Highly recommend Maro's! Ate in for lunch (following protocols) and enjoyed a beautiful meal with the sun shining through the large windows. The menu is unique and diverse with great vegetarian and meat options. The plating was beautiful and food was delicious. The Lebanese cavapi was excellent. Look forward to coming back with our friends! Also a great option for pickup/ take out.

Leonard Howell

I heard great things about this place, so maybe I got them on a bad day or maybe their food is just not for me. I found the washrooms to be sub par, the seating uncomfortable, the wait time excessive, and the food far below expectations and although the server was nice, I think she lacked the experience and etiquette of a server. Again....maybe it was a bad day...others tell me the place is great.

Gary Ludwig

We'd heard about Maro's and while we were in Oakville we thought we'd see how it was going to work out during the pandemic. We couldn't have been happier. They have nice, big comfortable outdoor picnic-style tables ranged far apart along the sidewalk. The service is quick, cheerful, and attentive, but not overweening. The menu looked kind of expensive but that's deceptive – every dish can easily feed two people so divide the prices in half. Unless you have a massive appetite try sharing before you go for a whole plate of anything. My wife and I split a Lebanese Cavapi. The chicken was perfectly prepared and everything was spiced just right. We were there with family and the two of them split a Fairouz (we tried some of the sausage – also just great) and the four of us all shared a "Bella and the Beast" (their "Famous Fried Cauliflower"). Also just great and apparently a local favourite. All four of us were stuffed by the end. I would go back in a second for more (especially as our server told us her favourite dish was the marinated fish. I hadn't even thought of trying that. Next time...).

Vivian L

Saw the reviews on google and was eager to try this Persian restaurant and excited to try their take on fish. Our hostess was very friendly and it was quite steady and social distancing was well handled. I ordered a really fragrant cocktail that was absolutely incredible. We decided to order and my friend ordered the Lebanese Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of sautéed Onions, mixed greens and asked for some avocado if they had it. I ordered the HERE COMES THE BRIDE GF 24.95 Sea bass Fish Fillet marinated in Middle Eastern Spices, Sautéed with Onions and Peppers, on a Bed Homemade Baba Ghanoush and Hummus. I was enjoying my drink when not even 10 mins passed and a server came by and placed the dishes on our table. I looked at my friend and we were both shocked. I saw the hostess walk by and I asked if my dish was the sea bass and she said yes and took off right away. My friend's dish was so awful. There was so much stuff just thrown together, the chicken was drenched in curry seasoning, the avocado was cut in half and had a dollop of some red stuff not sure what that was. My fish was chunks of fried BASA! and was so oily and disgustingly rubber like. The only thing that was edible was the delicious Baba Ghanoush and Hummus which I ate and left all the fish behind. My friend's could not bear to look at her plate and covered it with a napkin. When the hostess came by I tried to stay composed and quietly explained that the fish was definitely not Seabass and asked when Persians start cooking with curry powder???? She said the chef is trying to put a Western spin on some dishes and their supplier and invoice said it was Seabass. I asked her if chunks of fish looks like a fillet of seabass to her and she said it was a fillet and the chef cut it up into chunks after, what the hell?????.Gordon Ramsay would freak. We told her we could not eat the food and the chef should be proud of his culture. To sling food on a plate and pass of basa as seabass is insulting. The chef cooks without passion or love and thinks foodies like myself would not know the difference. I told her I was so disappointed and she tried to offer something else and we declined. She offered me some dips to take home to try and asked me to try and come back. I will definitely not. I understand during this time, it is very difficult for restaurants and I go out of my way to support the industry by trying new places. If chefs are going to take shortcuts and fool people to try and save money, then this business will not last very long.

Alia Katib

One of the best experiences I’ve had! The food is very delicious and the staff are very welcoming, nice and helpful! I’m definitely gonna be a regular customer.

Todd Neilson

Loved working with Maro on his brand, photography and social. Maro is absolutely nuts, but sometimes it takes one to know one. The food is rediculously good, you have to go experience it yourself. Maro, keep giving it your all!

Pirithivi Yogeswaran

The food here is beyond compare. I have been here several time and each one has been amazing. Lunch in Beirut is their signature and the hummus is unreal, better then any other hummus I've tasted. Plus they provide pita on request and their veggies are fresh and delicious. Top notch.

Skye

Expectations during covid aren’t necessarily high, but the owner exceeded our every expectation! Came for my birthday and trusted the server with his recommendations, food was delicious and everything was tasty, and beautifully spiced. The portions are generous and colourful. They also own the place next door which looks wonderful

renu

This is my third time visiting Maro's. I love it for the cozy feeling, excellent hospitality, food for soul and tons of veggie options. This time I was blwon away by the desserts. We got some packed for home as we were too full to try them all.

Dana S

Omg I don’t know where to start! This is my favourite place ! I can eat there every meal and everyday if I could! The flavours are perfectly right and the Service is very personal! This is the only place I trust to let my 9 month old baby indulge in! I don’t have to worry about cleanliness or quality because everything is so fresh and healthy ! Love this place ! Love the owners workers! It is definitely one of the best spots you can ever try ! And I must mention , quantity for price is incomparable anywhere in town! Super generous!

R. B.

Yes, the food is very good, but the place is small & when it's busy it's too crowded, tables too close together & the owner is a bit over the top with his help re the menu. The staff tries, but often fails at bringing your order in a timely manner or you getting their attention. Go before or after rush hour! Would be better if they had a bigger place.

Ali Rushdan Tariq

This review is a few years old but I figured better late than never as I continue to relive the memories! I have been here for two milestone events - my sister’s post wedding dinner and my wife’s birthday. On both occasions, we had a table of no less than 8 people. And even though the space is quite tight, on both occasions we were made to feel so welcome and special. On one of the days, Maro himself welcomed us, saw the look of mild panic on my face when I realized how small it was, and assured me very calmly that we would have the best time. And he was not wrong. They prepared a chefs menu for us that included an assortment of the most popular dishes including their delicious chicken and beef shawarmas, mezes, and their out of this world cauliflower salad. Seriously, you have to try it! We topped it off with the best Turkish coffee that came with saffron infused sugar cubes. Amazing. From their classy and helpful service to the delicious food, you seriously cannot go wrong with Maro’s. Do yourself a favour and check it out. Thanks for the memories!

Alanna Tasios

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner, and all I can say is WOW! It was our first time trying Maro's and it was an amazing experience. Their covid protocol made us feel very safe - we were checked twice for our vax passes, first at the door/lobby and again once we were greeted at our table. We ordered Lunch in Beirut and A Day in a Lebanese Mountain, both dishes were phenomenal!! We will for sure be returning for many more meals to come! Thank you! :)

Shae Vlaar

We had an amazing lunch here, and were thoroughly impressed by the selection, staff, and restaurant itself! The service is great, food comes out quick, and the place itself is lovely. We will definitely be back! We shared one dish between two people, with the addition of a side and still took home leftovers. Very generous portions.

Jennifer Yakimishyn

One of the best restaurants in Oakville! The food is fantastic and the service is just as great. My favourite is the Bella and the beast with a side of chicken shawarma, the in house hot sauce is the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

Nazia Fatima

We picked this place for our girls night out after 5 months of lockdown and we couldn't be happier. Staff were welcoming and ambitious was cozy Chic bohemian. We ordered lots of things and everything was cooked to perfection and very flavourful. Desserts were decadent.

Toronto Duo

Wow.. just wow!! We had such a fun time at Maro’s Bistro, the food was incredibly flavourful & the service was just amazing. We got to try a lot of different menu items and got lattes which both were absolutely delicious. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very chic and trendy (a fun spot to take some IG pictures!). From the menu we got fattoush salad, here comes the bride, and a large platter with roasted eggplant, halloumi, cauliflower with fresh hummus & two lattes. We HIGHLY recommend trying this restaurant out if you’re looking for some tasty middle eastern food (ps. the owner loves travelling and brings a piece of where he visited and includes it in the menu!) You’ll see us back here again with our friends & family!

Matt Donaldson

My wife and I tried Maro's a few months ago for the first time and have been back weekly since. The food is always incredible and the staff are always great. I highly recommend the burrito bowl with chicken. I always get atleast two meals out of it.

Christine MacNeil

On our first visit, our server Sam recommended 2 excellent dishes and we were more than happy with the flavors and presentation. Reasonably priced for a pleasant sit-down meal.

RImtest Prvtestaccount

Nice decor. Good food. Had "Lunch in Beirut" and a burrito. Service is OK. Prices are decent and portions are good. Worth a visit. Free parking available behind the building.

Michelle White

Always so good and flavourful!! Update: had to jump in here as I cannot believe someone spent time to do a 1 star review because they were charged $2.50 for a bottle of water. If that is their worse problem, life is good.

Karen Shinto

For anyone looking at Maros for their "vegan" food options, please look elsewhere. I went to Maros a few days ago and ordered the Zulaikha dish which is clearly labelled Vegan on their menu. I immediately felt sick and could not figure out why, however, I did not question this at the time because I trusted the basic ability of a restaurant to know what classifies as vegan. I called back today, inquiring about the ingredients in the dish. After asking about whether or not the dish that was labelled vegan was actually vegan, the lady rudely told me she didn't know. Which is odd, as you would expect the staff to know the answer to this simple question. Especially since their menu claims it is vegan. Instead of the staff taking the initiative to double check whether the dish was vegan I had to ask this employee to find out. She did get back to me to let me know the dish was in fact not vegan, as it contains dairy. She could not provide any explanation as to why they labelled the dish as vegan, and was very abrupt asking "is that all?" immediately after telling me it was not vegan. To mislead customers in this way is extremely wrong, especially considering how serious allergies can be. The customer service here is the worst I have ever received, and I would never recommend this business. In fact, I was a little hesitant to visit the first time due to all the terrible things I've heard about their customer service. I've visited a host of restaurants that serve both solely or secondary vegan options, and have never experienced this. Completely unheard of...so unprofessional, unethical, and flat out criminal. Edit - as I have not heard a reply and I notice it is still labelled incorrectly on their menu after more than a month, I will be taking this up with the BBB.

A Crerar

Amazing flavors and so many vegan options the food was to good we finished it befor we could take a picture. Everything we ordered was recommended by the waitress and everything was delicious! Definitely coming back!

Zina Majeed

The food was so good, the place so clean, and the service was amazing and friendly stuff. Spacial thanks to Natalie was so nice. Highly recommended.

Shazmin M

The food was AMAZING. However, the service was terrible. I came to Maro's a few weeks back with a group of 8. Albeit, an hour or two before closing, I'm sure the staff weren't too thrilled to have a group of our size arrive. The waitress that initially seated us was quite rude. She then passed us off to another waitress. Between the two of them we were served. However, anything we asked for or requested was completed with a scowl. I don't know if there was trouble in the kitchen or if they were having an off night, but it was extremely disappointing.

Mona El-Falou

Overall wasn't too impressed with the place. Definitely not worth the money I spent. Don't think I'll be going back. Pros: I love the area it's in, the workers/owners were nice, and the decor is nice. Cons: The seating is not comfortable at all. The place was way too packed and the tables were so close to each other. Felt like I'll be bumping into the person behind me every time I moved. The music was really loud for dinner. Regarding the food, some plates were good. Not amazing but good. Some were very disappointing. 'Fairouz' and '... Lebanese Mountain' were ok. Maro's special wasn't at all.

Shahzad Shaikh

Amazing lite spot, good variety amazing haloumi..

Haily H

A must try if in Oakville! I always go to Maro's Bistro. They are friendly, genuine, and sincerely make great tasting food! So healthy and delicious. Try their falafels, haloumi, dips, fish, chicken....everything is SO GOOD! Unique and flavorful. I hope it never changes!!

Adam G

Worst experience ever. Will never be back and will never recommend. Terrible servers, terrible owners. An embarrassingly awful establishment to say the very least.

Rendi Wu

Great food and the portions are humongous! Dishes are presented beautifully and each one is very unique. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options as well. The place is small and cozy so expect a long wait if you have a large party even with reservations during busy times.

Bilal Khan

Maro’s is a hidden gem, I can’t believe this is the first time we tried it. We had the middle eastern bowl swapped the salad and added chicken shawarma there result an incredible meal. The vibe is great, it feels like a patio in downtown Toronto all in the heart of Oakville, we’ll definitely be back.

jim ivey

One of out favorite and regular take-outs in Oakville. Healthy, IMHO, and generous portions always leaving for some leftovers the next day.

Review Alert (Big Daddy)

- C.F. Google food critic says "Amazing." "A restaurant as Moro's deserve more Google stars, they truly raise the bar." "Big portions, fresh & authentic at a price that is well under its pallet"

Roseanne R

Wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was but WOW!! We had Lunch in Beirut and Memories of Persia and it was delicious! Service, presentation and food was Devine! So glad we walked by this place. We also got complementary cauliflower with this amazing sauce. Definitely will be back, thank you!!

Arun K

Flawless execution in terms of quality and service. This was our first visit here while passing by the area looking for a good eat, and wow did Maro's not fail to disappoint!!! By far the best Middle Eastern restaurant we've had the pleasure of dining at. Ordered the Beirut Lunch and a fish dish recommended by our server which definitely impressed us! Coming from the GTA area, I have to say that I wish I saw more of this here. Needless to say, we would definitely make the 40 minute trip out to Oakville just for the food and service!

Tav Khera

Omg the food, service and ambiance were excellent. The portions are huge, good prices and colorful dishes! I would go back again. Holly was our server and she was very inventive and helpful. Check it out!

Sheba

This is my new favorite place! I love the chicken shawarma dish, enough for at least two people. I can't remember the name of the mixed mezze plate which comes with 6 different dips including hummus and baba ganush. It's enough for four people and each and every dip is amazing. A few are spicy which I love! The food is always fresh, spectacularly flavored and beautiful presentation. Tons of gluten free options. A must try!

Daniel Zheng

The food is phenomenal. However they charged us extra for no reason. Might have been honest mistake but everyone on my table paid 3 extra. For reference our meal was 22 and after tax and a 10% tip we paid 30. That is an estimated 26% tax. It's not an issue of extra 3 dollars but rather the integrity of the price shown on the menu.

Michael Smith

Good food and generous portions, although the prices are high for most dinner items (in the 20 to 25 dollar range). Try the arak mixes for drinks - very tasty and interesting.

Paul Jassal

Randomly found this gem in Oakville close to the lake. I would reccommend this place to anyone who wants clean and authentic Lebanese food. Came here with my cousin for lunch and the owner or lady helped us choose the best dishes. Would definitely come back to maros!

laura m

Terrible place. From the service to the food, it was a nightmare. Minute I waked in, got a staredown from the server...like I was not good enough to be there.. Pfft, Absolute disgrace, as it was my first visit, and would NEVER return or recommend to anyone. At this point Decided not to leave and try the food. These servers or owner, whoever they might be, need some serious training.. Show some RESPECT to the customers walking in your door. Don't forget it's the customers, that keep YOU in business. It would be a good idea to offer drinks upon seating not After my meal arrived. When I declined tap water, I was offered PC water or selection water, that was purchased on sale probably at no frills or fresh co. Hot dog vendors offer better bottled water than this... Food was blah, average at best. Worst experience by far...

Devil Driver

This place has the best food in the area bar none. The ingredients are always fresh and tasty. I'm truly saddened that they removed the chicken burrito from the menu, as it was the best burrito you could find in the GTA other than Ole Gourmet in Stoney Creek. I highly recommended trying the Turkish coffee after your meal.

Bam Reddick

Absolutely amazing! Not only is it some of the BEST food, with the most amazing flavor but the staff is the most respectful and friendly in probably any restaurant we've been to! They made the children feel like little royalty! Pizza really! Wow, thanks, guys! This is why we continue to come back over, and over again!

gab hab

The decor was nice but other than that nothing special. Tbh the food was mediocre and overpriced. Something that really bothered me was the customer service. The waitress was not very friendly and she was constantly rushing us to order. Once we were done eating they were also rushing us to pay and leave, even though there were empty tables available and no one was waiting for a table.

EZ R

Nice place to come with friends - we always get a few plates and share. The quantity of the food you get is good, however, issues with the pita/bread. We always have to try and get someones attention, which often takes a while because it is a busy place. The space is nicely decorated BUT it is small. Like whenever someone would walk by I (or a friend) would get shoved, which got frustrating. If you're planning a trip here try to get in before rush hour or you might be waiting for a bit.

Chris

Very good chicken shawarma (lunch in Beirut) don't forget to ask for the garlic sauce. It makes it a lot tastier. U can get as much pita as you can eat along with it. The Mediterranean pearl is also amazing. It's fried fish wrap. It's a bit pricy though but it's good food.

Sarah Abdu

We always come here because we love how fresh, light, and delicious everything is. Maro's is a great place for gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. The service is great and the dishes are unique takes on middle eastern dishes. The portions are also huge. One criticism is that some meat-based dishes are a little under-seasoned. Also, I'd like to see some more sides incorporated whether thats cauliflower rice, quinoa, or rice. Some of the dishes, especially the chicken and meat, need to be eaten with something else. We come every now and then when we're in the area and will continue doing so.

Benji Teixeira

One of the best restaurants in Oakville and the surrounding area. The food fantastically fresh with humungous portions.

solarkk

Amazing food and service. The staff was so friendly and gracious, amazing recommendations. Service was prompt and quick. Bella and the Beast was unbelievably delicious. Cauliflower was the best I have ever tasted. Portions were generous. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

Suniel Gautam

Awesome hospitality. Great food. Had real fun hanging out on patio.

Michael Shire

Comfortable setting, great food, fun atmosphere.

Nazreena Makeen

Food at the Maro's is more than WOWW!! I went with my friend and the quantity was a lot for a small person like me, so I ended up taking the rest home and omggg my family just couldn't stop saying how delicious it was. Love the atmosphere, love the service and most importantly LOVE THE FOOD!!

JSB CUISINE

Really enjoyed my lunch here! Food was hot and fresh and service was friendly and quick. Would recommend if you're in the area!

Sumaiya Thakor

second time at this spot... first time was delicious, this time food was cold and felt rushed. tea is a good for cold nights - unlimited refills!

Nataliya

I happened to find Maro’s online and based on the glowing reviews was quick to make a reservation. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Everything from the ambience to the service and the food was beyond my expectations. Firstly, the decor is incredibly cozy with a romantic chic vibe. There are lush green plants at every corner and classical chandeliers throughout the restaurant. The owner, Maro made great recommendations based on our preferences. We chose to share two dishes amongst the three of us as the portion sizes are extremely generous. We opted for one vegetarian dish, A Day in a Lebanese Mountain and a meat dish, Lunch in Beirut. Both were beyond amazing with high quality ingredients and with rich bold flavours. The chicken was well seasoned and perfectly complimented the onions and peppers. It was laid on a bed of homemade hummus, which was the cherry on top. For the veggie dish, the eggplant and the potatoes tasted amazing. As someone who is not usually keen on eggplant this was probably the best eggplant I’ve had. Lastly, the variety in desserts was very unique. There were pistachio and date paste eclairs, saffron creme brûlée, orange blossoms, strawberry jam filled tarts and more. While the food may be slightly pricier, it’s absolutely worth it based on the quality and portions you receive. Now, I can’t wait for Maro’s expansion and the addition of a brunch menu. This was my first time here but most certainly will not be my last!

Geraldine Pedrosa

Food was fast and very good! We ordered Memories of Persia. The take out bag smelled sooo good and the food was still warm. Took it home to eat and it did not disappoint. The box was jammed packed of all the deliciousness. Very flavorful beef shawarma and them potatoes!!! The red and white sauce were great compliments to the dish. Will be back again!

james york

1st time at this restaurant cozy family like inside. Service was quick and friendly. The food was excellent. My son is vegetarian and there were plenty of selections for him. The menu is Lebanese I had a chicken dish my son a broccoli and vegetable dish my other son and daughter in law had a beef dish all really enjoyed their food.

nick M

I came from Mississauga with my family yesterday for Canada day and WOWOWOWO! I couldn't even talk, it was that good! My mom has a very sensitive stomach and the chef worked around her issue to give her the best food possible. The price was very good for the amount of food we received. The place might look a little run down but don't let that stop you from actually going in and trying the food! Thanks once again and we will for sure be back!

Jeremy Alderton

Had the beef shawarma (not listed on their menu) that was delicious. Decent size and served with a bottle of garlic sauce and another with a mild, but tasty, hot sauce. Shawarma & pop was $10. Service was fairly quick and friendly. Recommended.

Naveed Dada

Hyped...Regular food nothing special...no customer service...personally wont visit again...others are welcomed to try...

Sarah Holt

Two stars as the food is yummy and we came fairly regularly before the pandemic and love the taste. Today, again - delicious (expensive) food, friendly staff and a great spot outside on the patio. Which was lucky as ONLY ONE of the staff was WEARING A MASK. So recommend you don't go with unvaccinated kids. ???? Definitely eat outside if you can.

Kamal Alkabodi

Delicious food, big portion. We had to stay at the patio because of COVID-19 and it was a good experience and my wife and kids enjoyed it!

yasser Elbarkoki

Great find hidden on Oakville’s Kerr st. It a Mediterranean Lebanese cuisine with a strong twist of healthy food and fresh ingredients. Very creative presentation of dishes with large portions and good price. Service is outstanding and friendly especially if you are served by CJ.

Bianca Davison

Love Love love their food! When I go here I always get the Kale Salad and Lebanese chicken. It is more than enough food to feed two people and not feel guilty after eating it!

Miss Daylight

Some dishes are good others not really, over seasoning is not always the best way to add taste. I eat hot and spicy and too much salt or pepper can kill the taste, so would be great if the chef takes that into consideration. The staff, quite friendly, expect the manager who sounds annoyed, annoying and arrogant. In a such restaurants communication, and the art of communication are extremely important. Bottom line he lacks communication skills, he shouldn’t communicate with customers, he should work on something else.

Sohrab Milani

At first I couldn't choose a meal from the menu but soon realized that absolutely every single item on their menu is to die for, and like nothing I've had before! We loved their food and service and will definitely go back.

Sue Demmer

Delicious every time! No restaurant like it!

Shereen Ishag

This food is out of the world! Delicious and healthy! Had lunch there and the food was well presented and the service was very courteous. Highly recommended. I gave it a 4 because it is a bit tight on space and can be crowded.

Omar A

Amazing food, amazing staff. Came here on a whim with a friend without much expectations, was very pleasantly surprised, good food with good presentation, and I did not have to break the piggy bank. Will be bringing my family here next time.

Hamid Chefchaouni

This is the best dining option in the area. The place is small but well staffed. Because the demand is high, they try to deliver the food as fast as possible to accommodate the large number of customers. My favorite was the Lebanese Cévapi; it is a grilled mediteranean half chicken with salad and vegetables with endless pita bread. You gotta have it!!!

Gwen Vernon

Shared a dinner with friends on the outdoor patio recently, the food was amazing! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious, and the owner came out to check to see if our meal was to our liking! Loved supporting a locally owned restaurant, and even though it is a street patio, we felt quite comfortable!

Michelle Guirgis

Who puts turnips in fatoush? At least mention it in the description on your menu. I don't know how you call it Lebanese and then you put turnips in it. Food is ok but truly overpriced

Karen Kams

I have been coming here for 3 years and the food never disappoints! Would highly recommend checking this place out!

belladaniel castellanos

I love Maro's..they go totally out with flavour. First went for a job lunch but we are keep coming back. Nice size platters and just heard you can book them too. I am so excited for them. The only thing I would recommend is to get the staff more comfortable with the menu.

Kerr Kam

We have been coming here for a while, It always had amazing food and great service! By far the coziest Middle Eastern restaurant. Would definitely recommend!

Fabian

Not your typical middle eastern restaurant- in a good way Great diverse menu with an abundance of choices. The only problem is deciding what to eat! It is obvious that Maro puts customer satisfaction before profit (unlike most other places. I only wish I lived closer

Kamna

The chicken in the shawarma was very succulent. It tasted amazing with the beets, hummus and pita. Would love to drive down and try this again.

Anu Kay

Great place to dine in. Our server was great. The food came within 5 minutes of ordering. The baklava is to die for. The portions are big too.

Dora Pimentel

food was excellent but very unfortunate that service was horrible! waitress came to table initially to place order and bring food! we had to go inside on several occasions to ask for forks, napkins and took dirty plates into restaurant once we ate the meal.

Allan Stuber

Amazing food, not enough words can describe; if you are vegetarian- this place has so many options and the owners are the most gracious and generous people ! God bless them..

Christopher Lucas

Not sure when it became ok to charge an 18 percent gratuity on my bill without my permission? Service was terrible...water was left unfilled...requested napkins never arrived...way better places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk.

James MT

Friendly staff, delicious food. Middle eastern menu that goes beyond shwarma sandwiches. Lots of nice meat and vegetable plates. Beautiful salads. Friendly servers. Indoor seating and street/patio space. Loads of choices for vegetarians. We had the Beruit Lunch (chicken, hummus, beets, peppers) and Bella and the Beast (roasted cauliflower, cabbage salad). All flavourful, plentiful and delicious. Will come again.

Mike Farrell

I’m writing to say that this place is normally an absolute must try. Since discovering it, we’ve been eating here almost 3-5 times a month. Their vege tower and falafel are unbelievably good. However, tonight their chef really let us down (ordered pick up). The falafel is dry and hard and the vege tower has almost no hummus or roasted chickpeas. We waited in the restaurant for our order, so there is no excuse for it having sat there for too long. It’s just poorly made.

Mo Elamry

Maro and his staff are absolutely fantastic. Service is always prompt and friendly, and food is out of this world. The flavours are very well thought out. Maro’s passion for food is evident in every aspect of this restaurant. Always a pleasure to eat here, you will love it!

Olga J.

From the first visit, this has become our favourite place to eat. As vegetarians, we love the flavours and the variety. Absolutely delicious food and superb service. Every time we go, we try something new and absolutely love it! We can't wait to go back again. We wish we could eat there every day! We drive 30 minutes to get there and it's totally worth it!

Tom Lunney

Amazing service. Amazing food. They do not skip on portions. Mains would be easily shared. Or just get your own and you are most likely going to bring some home! As the T-800 said, I'll be back!

Natalie Romaniuk

I’m giving this establishment a 5 stars because the food was incredible. The smells, tastes and Turkish coffee was very rich, delicious and savoury. The downside is the service was slow and our order was mixed up. I’ve heard from other customers that this happens often. Regardless, Maro’s is still thriving and an Oakville favourite

Zain Wania

Totally incredible food, you order to share which is perfect for this type of cuisine. Please listen to staff about recommendations they will steer you into the best that they have to offer. It's top 5 meals I've had all of 2019 hands down. It's reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. PS. Don't get the salad it's just there to accomodate other people.

H L

This restaurant changed my life. That’s all I can say.

Double GG

Always a good meal. Service is slow but it is because everything is made from scratch. Only two cooks in the kitchen. Be patient, it is worth the wait. So much flavour and it won't break your wallet. Busy at lunch and dinner. Not good for a group. Restaurant has more outside seats than inside. Can be very cramped.

Diana Serna

Everything was perfect! The food was delicious and the service outstanding. They made me and my friends feel at home, most of us were Colombian. I recommend this place 100%

Ali Al-Janabi

Delicious food, Fast service and nice people… highly recommended ????????

D R

Maro’s is my new favourite spot in the area. Delicious and fresh, the food always hits the spot. I came with a friend for dinner and the service was so so nice and memorable. I believe the server’s name started with an R (guy with curly hair)? I will definitely be returning and bringing more people to try this place. There are options for everyone (meat, vegetarian, vegan, etc). Love love love this place. The photo is from a previous visit earlier in the year.

Mory Ghanem

Maro's catered our rehearsal dinner and I could not be happier with how delicious everything was. Our families were so impressed and I was very happy with the process. He was great to deal with. He took care of everything and was so helpful in deciding the menu. Thank you Maro!

Janice Banman

Now that we have been we understand the hype! Very casual atmosphere with great food and great service. The server helped us decide on what to order and it was wonderful. Definitely a plate sharing place. 1 salad and 2 entrees were plenty for the 3 of us!

Julianna Mb

Tried the quesadilla and i was very impressed. Amazing food quality. The staff were terrible though, they need to loose the attitude. Long wait because they only had 2 workers. Pretty pricey. Awkward layout, i was confused if it was only a dine in restaurant or if there was takeout as well.

Vee Anne

I can pick anything off the menu for the first time and have no doubt it would taste amazing! Everything is a must try at Mario's!! Don't hesitate to do a family style dine in so everyone can taste every dish. If you haven't gone....YOU SHOULD!

Tyler Levesque

Was very good food the people were very good at explaing what's on the menu. We were a group of 6 walked and we did not know what to get but the server gave us everything and showed us and having little of everything. Lots of flavors and smells. Made it very enjoyable.

Maria Tinoco

The food was superb, generous portions and beautifully presented. The flavour s were out of this world. The staff was great, very friendly and polite.

Andrea Waldie

Although the restaurant itself is fairly small and informal, the food is inventive and exceptional. Based in middle eastern cuisine, you can expect several culinary twists on that theme. This is my new favourite restaurants.

Courtney Mutchler

This is my favorite place in oakville! Honestly some of the best food I have had, any style, and definitely the best Mediterranean. The portions are huge so I recommend sharing, the Bella and the Beast is the best thing ever, 10/10. The service is always great, we especially enjoyed Holly, very attentive and friendly. We will be back many times!

Ania Munroe

I drive an hour and a half every so often just to go to this place, I love the food, the waitstaff is very informative and kind and every time I have the food there, I'm reminded of why I make the long drive. The food is amazing for vegetarians (&vegans) and meat-eaters alike. Maro himself is often there and he was very kind and accommodating to the customers. I would recommend this place to anyone who asked me for a good meal.

Dunia F.

Authenticity at its best! Food prepared and presented with so much love and passion, tastes so good!! Friendly staff. Clean. Amazing experience every single time. And the best part, is seeing Maro pouring his love in every dish right in front of your eyes. Very generous portions, great for sharing. Love this place!

Morgan Piczak

UGH LITERALLY THE BEST. We drive here all the way from Ancaster. You have to get the fried cauliflower! Everything was amazing. It is annoying how they don’t serve tap water though.

Momma Bear

Food: Extremely over-rated. The food portions were large but completely lacked in taste. There are plenty of better and authentic middle-eastern places in the area. Atmosphere: There is no sound buffer so it can get quite loud. Service: The servers seemed a bit disoriented by the crowd. The food came very slowly, and the we had to share the condiments with other tables. Accessibility: Not accessible

Carmen K

Came here for a birthday. The food was amazing the service was outstanding! I would definitely recommend this place for events or lunch/dinner!! Maro is awesome! Made sure everyone is happy and enjoying their time!!

George

Great food great place feels like eating home. Had the chance to meet Maro in person. Thumbs up. Dont forget a cup of tea before you leave...

John G

Fantastic food for a fantastic price. The only word of caution I have is that the portions are large, any in many cases, one dish could serve two. At worst, this means leftovers, but it's something to be aware of. At times, the service has been lackluster, but the food more than makes up for it. I consistently recommend Maro's to everyone.

W G

Had dinner here last Saturday. Was really looking forward to a good Mediterranean meal after reading the great reviews. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. It was a long wait to get a table but that was understandable given how busy they were and how limited seating there is. So our server was nice enough to give us menus while we waited and took our order. When we finally got seated, we were served water which was nicely presented but did not taste good. After another wait, our order finally came. Again that was acceptable as the place was busy and they make your order fresh. I ordered the Memories of Persia dish and my friend had the Maros’ special salad with chicken shawarma. I asked the server, who brought the food, for the pitas which were not warm or tasty. I did not enjoy my dish at all. It was a beef and potato dish with onion and peppers etc. in a very vinegary tasting sauce. It was a large dish and quite pricey. I thought it was definitely over priced. The beef was cooked well so I took most of it home and had the rest of it the next day after frying the meat and potatoes in butter, with lots of salt, to get rid of the vinegar flavour. My friends’ dish was better. It was salad with chicken shawarma and rice. About the same price as mine (approx $19). It tasted better than my dish but not nearly as good as other restaurants’ chicken shawarma and rice like Montfort. Overall, not a great dining experience and I will not return.

Vladimir mayakovsky

I don't usually write a review, however after tonight's experience I had to come and write something right away. We came to Maro's resultant tonight with my entire family but unfortunately didn't get the chance to enjoy our meal. We got there a bit late but the staff was nice enough to give us a table. All the staff were super nice with the exception of one of the male staff who was screaming and swearing at all of the employees at the restaurant in front of everyone. We were definitely not expecting this at a restaurant in oakville.

Darlene C

If you are looking for a venue to hold your wedding reception, birthday party, anniversary party etc. choose Maro's! I recently helped plan my friend's wedding at Maro's and have to say that Maro (the owner) went above and beyond to accommodate and make it a special and seamless day. Food and service were top-notch.

Reena Bhardwaj

We came to this restaurant because of the reviews but the actual experience wasn't what I expected of a place with such reviews. Staff upon entry were warm and welcoming but after that service was really slow and the ladies had disappeared into the back for aaages. The food was nice and good portions but it wasn't as great as I had expected considering the reviews this place has received. I don't think we'll be going back

Anish Gupta

Great food. Quick and inexpensive. Very casual spot for a quick easy meal. Lots of vegan options which is great for me and my girlfriend so we love it here.

Ian Watson

Interesting menu with vegan options. Absolutely delicious. Served politely and staff are attentive. Basic seating and be careful where you sit when it's cold as the dining room entrance door opens onto the sidewalk so the place gets a cold icy wind inside every times the door opens. Reasonable value for money at about $20 per person including tip and tax.

Dee Kaur

I loved the food here, very healthy and tasty dishes. Good portion size, nice decor!

Yas V

Amazing food and lots of vegan options!

Vasuki Jeyatharan

Excellent and courteous service from the staff. Zane, the chef who made our particular dishes, was so friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing and was beautifully presented. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Fariba Mojaveryan

We experienced such a warm friendly welcome in this Lebanese restaurant and liked different foods and appetizers

Sanket Bhatt

One of our favourite places in town, and it never disappoints! Just had another amazing dinner with friends. Loved the veggie tower from their new menu. Plus the old favourites fried cauliflower and fried eggplant dishes.

TY

Been here multiple times and love the food here.

N A

I am only giving it 2 stars because the service was amazing. The staff was friendly, service was fast but food wasn't very good. The aesthetic and good reviews made me come here but it left a lot to be desired ! There weren't any middle eastern people in the restaurant and there's a reason for that. Great aesthetic, beautiful decor, but food is not up to par. (the tea was good though)

Pardeep Dhupar

Everything in this place was awesome. We didn't make a reservation for Saturday night and had to wait for an hour to get a table. There were a few people ahead of us. It doesn't have a big seating area. While we waited, we sat on the bar stools by the window and enjoyed some appetizers which was simple yet very tasty. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The kitchen staff looked all happy to be there and working hard. Our food was just amazing and very flavourful. Very positive experience.

Adam P

This was my first time eating at Maro's and the food was amazing. Portion sizes are ample and well seasoned. We did wait some time before being served and although my date asked for the burrito bowl with no jalapenos, it still came with them, but the server was quick to offer a remake but simply removed it from the bill altogether. We appreciated this very much. Will definitely return for the food here in the future.

Foody Guy

Its been 5 years since I last visited Maro’s and the food still tastes great. This time around It was obviously take out. But what is with the portion sizes? $24 +tx +tip for a massive Sharwarma dinner. Its good for 2 or leftovers but WHY? Why not a smaller portion for $12? I am not sure what they are intending to accomplish here??

Sil Cav

The food was amazing

Steven Tse

Food was amazing and portions were huge. Wish someone told use they were meant to be shared and not individual. Only issue I had was the service, specifically the waiter for our table. He never wrote anything down trying to memorize the order of the table of 8. He repeated it wrong, we corrected him and the food came out wrong. Just a sore note as one of us had to wait for a new dish to be prepared when a simple pen and paper was needed and not someone trying to show off

Brendan Cone

This place had the best Cevapis I've had at a restaurant in the GTA. Highly recommend, a favourite in Oakville!

Bekele Tefera

Food 5+ , service-2. I was not asked what to drink until almost my food was coming, the server came to ask how the food was on my last bite, and it has been about 10 minutes since the server took the empty plates. I am still waiting to be asked if I want dessert or coffee or just the bill. Two servers and the place is not that busy at this time. Now the server left the check and credit card machine on my table and went outside to take orders. I came here every time I travel to Oakville and this is the first time to experience such a service. I hope I won't experience same when I come next time.

Ruth C

Great food with some really good vegetarian options however the service has gone down in the last couple of months. Took 20 mins and 2 requests to get a cup of tea. Forgot to give us pitta bread, and then tried to charge extra for it. The table beside us, they hadnt received 2 main courses.

Gerry Van Donkersgoed

Arrived at 7pm Saturday. No wait, immediately seated. We had Mastro Special and Mediterranean Plate. Both excellent. Served with pita bread. They provide squeeze jugs of garlic and hot sauce. Persian tea and Turkish coffee interesting. Baklava good. Excellent value - $41 with tax. This is an excellent choice for lunch, or a casual dinner. Highly recommended.

Scott Luscombe

Wow! Great value for the $. Generous portions and all 3 of our meals were absolutely delicious!! Great service and a casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Sam Spade

I ate there for the second time yesterday with a couple of friends. Natalia was a great waitress. She was very attentive and perceptive . I was going to order a dish that is made up of dips, which I had not realised. She made sure that I was aware what it was like, asked a couple of questions then suggested a fish dish that was amazing. She made me feel that it was truly important to her that we had a good experience. All the food was very tasty and beautifully presented.

Shaheer T.

Came here for a birthday and it was an incredible experience. We took the owner's recommendations for the food and their Mediterranean cuisine was delicious. The owner and his staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, which made it a great overall experience. Would definitely recommend!

Jessica Bal

The best spot for middle Eastern cuisine in the GTA. The food is always consistent and the menu is so creative! I love the patio and atmosphere is suited for couples and families. Make sure you try the eggplant dishes but literally anything you order will be perfect.

Violetta Cieplechowicz

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The Bella and the Beast dish is incredible, it is literally made to perfection! Customer service is great! There is a patio outside which is great in the summer and warm fall days.

Food was amazing. I had the Lebanese Cavapi and Before Sunset. Seems a bit pricey at first but portions are huge. Would recommend to anyone. However, service was okay but their patio seating is quite nice. Would only return in large groups or for special occasions as the food is perfect to share.

One of our favourite places to eat in Oakville. The food is consistently delicious, the portions extremely generous and excellent value for your money. Suits both meat lovers and vegetarians. A great spot to eat if you're trying to make more health-conscious food choices. I have yet to go at a time when it's not packed ( but you get in quick enough). I have never had a disappointing experience at Maros.

Joe Pereira

Great food! Service and atmosphere is meh.

Anil Pillai

We had takeout from here & the food was very good. When the restaurant opens again for dine-in, we're definitely going to try it out as the ambience looks amazing & the food will certainly taste much better when had fresh & at the restaurant. The pickup location was next door & they had fresh desserts that were out of this world! Slightly on the pricier side but definitely felt worth it.

Food looked and smelled great based on what other tables had ordered! Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to experience or enjoy it due to the poor customer service. The main waiter (glasses & beard) was very strange acting and passive aggressive like a previous reviewer mentioned. He seemed upset and would not look us in the eye for some unknown reason. A different waiter came to take our food order and I planned to order the Middle Eastern Bowl which included several dips as a starter, with my girlfriend planning to order Green Kale Bowl for an entrée and Memories of Persia Beef Shwarma for myself. The 2nd waiter was nice and helpful and he suggested that the Middle Eastern Bowl would be more than enough food for 2, and that we wouldn’t need the other orders. We followed his direction, but it turned out to be very poor advice. The 8 dips arrived on a plate by themselves with nothing to dip. I’m not sure how they expected us to eat the dips, so we requested pita like we saw at other tables. The original waiter wordlessly delivered 4 cold pitas that did not seem fresh. Not enough to finish the 8 different dips. Nobody came to check on us, and we were still hungry after this strange plate of dips with nothing else. Since the 2nd waiter’s instructions led us astray we decided to request a menu to order again. The passive aggressive waiter put a menu on the table without even looking at us. At this point I was frustrated so I asked for a bill and a take-out for the dips (which were tasty!). The small 4”x4” take-out container that was provided did not hold all the remaining 8 dollops of dip so we basically poured it all into the box where it sloshed together and ruined them for later. Even though the food looked and smelled delicious, I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody due to the service.

Nancy Lok

Great place for a casual meal. My family and I love to come here. The hummus is probably the best I’ve ever had. I recommend the veggie tower and lunch in Beirut. We are loyal customers, we come here all the time and will continue to.

Sina Kashani

Food is very delicious but service could be improved. Servers are nice and friendly but busy and not trained professional.

El

The Maro’s special is my favorite!! Made with grilled veggies mixed with couscous and a side salad. Be sure to add chicken ???? Guarantee you won’t finish it. Bella and the Beast is a close second for a lighter but filling option. Great portion sizes. Love the colourful meals and the homey vibe. Friendly staff.

Tanzia Islam

I had the absolute pleasure to eat at Maro’s yesterday while I visited Oakville for the first time. The food was good, and the customer service was absolutely outstanding. It was raining quite heavily and we decided to wait as there was not an empty dry table in the patio. The female server made an exception for us and let us dine inside as we were already wet. While we only ordered one item, she was very attentive to all our needs even after being the only server. Additionally, we didn’t even have to pay for the extra breads we ordered later. Just a great experience, that’s all.

Jaji Paji

The food's a bit pricy but the portions are huge. Ordered the chicken Tikka with rice and it was juicy and flavourful. The dips platter and crispy cauliflower was nice too. Loved the garlic potatoes. The place was super busy and they often forgot one or two items like drinks/ sides when serving our group. They don't serve regular pop.

Joan L

We ate here for the first time today and it was delicious! The savoury meats, freshly made dips and salad were wonderful. The staff were gracious and welcoming quickly making us feel at home. Portions are very generous so sharing is definitely recommended. The fried cauliflower is a must try.

Olivia Taylor

This place used to be fantastic. Shame to see it go downhill. The menu has been modified and the best dishes like Memories of Persia are no longer available. Just cheap flavourless minced beef options at the same prices.

Christine Purvis

Amazing food and staff! Always so wonderful to my family. One of the best spots in Oakville. Would recommend getting a number of plates to share. The cauliflower dish is amazing. Actually, it all is. So full of flavour. Would also recommend their lattes too. Food aside, if you love plants.. you'll be impressed with their greenery.

Munazza J

Their food is a high quality gourmet type of good.. and it's healthy! Just wish they would advertise being halal in a better way to improve their business. Benches are a bit hard to sit on for elders, some pillows on a few seats would be nice. Otherwise beautiful interior, amazing take on Arab, Persian and Mediterranean dishes, saw prices went up, hope quality doesn't change.

fadil hassan

Very nice restaurant or maybe the best middle eastern restaurant in the area Totally different experience than the traditional middle eastern restaurants Very good atmosphere friendly staff and the food was very tasty Great options for vegans The food portions were generous and still tasty They don’t serve fresh juices and this could be annoying if you are with your kids Just avoid the lunch time because the restaurant can get super crowded No free parking and not easy to find parking in rush hours

Mimi A

Hands down One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! Most delicious food and wonderful staff!! I booked my husbands birthday here…Maro and his team went above and beyond our expectations. They really made sure everyone had a great time!! The FOOD is absolutely incredible! Everything is delicious (fried cauliflower is a MUST) Really enjoyed the atmosphere and everything about this restaurant! 5⭐️????

RICHIE MEHTA

Amazing place and dishes. The food was perfectly cooked and aromatic spices give each dish a perfect flavour. If Service could be a little faster , it would make the experience even better.

Kaitlin Fantin

One of my favourite places! It’s so hard find good vegan options, especially in Oakville/Mississauga region. I am in love with the Veggie Tower and Teta’s Bowl. The food presentation is beautiful, the helpings are large, the price is reasonable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Highly recommend!

Lisa Kadoury

Best middle eastern restaurant hands down! Maro and Asfan are the perfect team at Maro's & Narenj. The food is ridiculously good, the service is excellent and I am so happy that the quality and service of this restaurant is the same as it was on my first visit 3 or 4 years ago! Thank you Maro for the delicious food and always providing a good laugh with every visit ????

Vesna Kacurov

While the food was delicious and flavorful, the customer service was not the best. The waitress never checked on us nor asked if we needed anything, and at the end we felt rushed to leave. One of the waiters collected our plates - did not even wait for us to finish our food and then quickly gave us our bill.

six pence

Amazing food and service! Best mideast food I have had...fresh tangy well seasoned and generous portion. Not crazy about Turkish coffee or tea but it must be an aquire taste. Deserts were the best quality.

sajid khan

Good food, but way too much salad and small portion of meat

Rawa

Amazing food & Amazing service. The waiter is knowledgeable about the menu and has suggestions if you are first timer like me. I am glad on taking his recommendation. Will come again.

Absolutely loved our Adventures to Maro's last week Tuesday!! Comfy-Cozy-Boho-Chic Ambiance, Friendly staff and prompt service. The presentation of the food was excellent and the flavours Delicious!! We tried the "Lunch in Beirut" and "Memories of Persia". Plan to go back again and work through the rest of the menu. Definitely recommend!!

Sanjay Khosla

Great food. Service could be better, especially removal of empty dishes. We were a party of greater than 7 and an automatic service change of 18 percent is included. The server insisted that this is not the tip. When asked what it was, he replied it was a service charge to serve us. He could not explain what the difference was between this and a tip. Hopefully the owner can!!!

Sarab S

Delicious ???? Big meal you can't finish them all.

Naz S

Our experience was hmm...MESSY! We were a table of 7 on the patio for a BIRTHDAY and we had three different servers to which none introduced themselves (we originally had one girl but we asked for someone who spoke Arabic and she brought a gentlemen who was not helpful at all) we then got some other girl who was just as unhelpful. Starters were fine, but after bringing the main dishes to 6 out of the 7 people at our table and she had gone and come back twice she asked how is everything I said we're missing her dish and she went and came back and said "oh sorry it was on the side" mind you what she meant by side was right near the entrance we had a clear view on it while we were sitting out our table she had put it down to open the door and left it there unattended with the amount of people walking through, it is NOT hygienic in any shape or form. Two of the people at our table asked for CHICKEN kubai and I asked for BEEF kubai, we were all given vegetarian Kubai We then told the server that we were supposed to get two CHICKENS and one BEEF ends up bringing ALL BEEF, the two that ordered chicken and ended up getting beef those beefs were still very cold in the centre. Straight after that we overheard one of our waitresses tell the table behind us that they had ran out of CHICKEN which was a further dissapointment as we knew what we had been told we had got was not true at all. My mum ordered traditional Arabic coffee (an absolute disgrace) was brought cold to her then we waited half an hour for a new one and I'm pretty sure Arabic coffee does NOT take that long to make. The shawarma dish we got was NOT the traditional shawarma it was literally diced chicken breast that was seasoned. The service was overall terrible, you need to train your staff to do their job properly.

Arun Badrinarayanan

I might have gotten the owner on the phone as the girl at the counter was still learning the trade (she's going to be a good sales person as I bought 2 more than what I had planned to); the person who answered my call when I tried to order without knowing what was on the menu - all I can say is she was very patient to explain the items and ended up recommending what I ordered. Great portions - bought the "Day in the Lebanese Mountain" along with cevapi on the side - it's a meal and a half for 2 people. Tons of grilled vegetables, a large salad that can easily be shared by 2 and the mini sausages (cevapi) were all assaulting our taste buds - lots of flavor while keeping an excellent balance. Kudos to your chef! I'm from Mississauga, but if I visit Oakville, this joint will definitely be one I'll check out again.

Jack Edwards

Great food. Big BIG portions. Vegan friendly, meat-eater friendly. Amazing food, of a kind that is hard to find around here. Only complaint, is the service could be a bit better - depends on the server. Otherwise amazing spot - would strongly recommend.

Tracey Almeida

I'd give them more stars if they had more respect for the environment! What kind of establishment FORCES people to buy PLASTIC bottled water and refuses to serve tap water???? Way to go, more landfill so you can make a $1. I would have preferred to pay $1 for tap water!!! Shame on you!! I will definitely NEVER visit this establishment again.

Christine Kanhouch

Great place and great service Natalie was very sweet and she recommended the best food of this place The price is reasonable for the portions I would definitely recommend this place and we will visit again

Natalie McLeod

Maros is the BEST!! excellent quality, large portions that are shareable, quick service and super friendly and welcoming staff! I come back here again and again with my friends!

Mark Kay

Customer service is going downhill fast! Despite many good reviews, the simple fact that they advertise to close at 8pm on a Sunday night, and turn away customers 20-30 minutes before this close time is why they get this rating. They forget that customers make plans, travel from different areas, and look forward to a dining out, only to be turned away. If your last acceptance is 7pm, advertise closure at 7pm!

Maha Imtiaz

Beautiful restaurant, very friendly and helpful ... food was amazing, tasty not like any other Mediterranean food I have tried (tasteless)

Ekta Patel

My favourite place to eat in Oakville. The food is always impeccable. Good variety and mix of flavours. The halloumi is the best I've ever had! And my favourite server Tina is incredibly helpful and passionate about the food. It's always a delight to be served by her :)

Pari Sa

The food is something different and well blend of spices. The restaurant is charming and very friendly. We were happy with the service. The only think I might add is that I felt there was a missing component like salad or rice on the side. It was hard to eat that much meat. Although there was some potato on top but not enough. The same with fish. I would prefer smaller portion of fish but with more side dishes . Grilled halumi was very good.

Kamran Kamal

Excellent food, efficient service, and cool vibe. Waiter/waitress were very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions. I do go back often.

Mansoor Mirza

Good food but little pricy.

Laura Woods

The only regret we have about this place is that we didn’t order sooner! The entire menu looks delicious, making it difficult to choose just one dish. It exceeded our expectations on flavour, freshness, and portion size. Can’t wait to eat on the beautiful patio soon!

Sandi Nelles

I could have eaten one of everything. What a great menu. We shared a salad between 3 of us and ordered two mains to split (at our server's suggestion). A ton of food and everything delicious. Very reasonable prices and great bottomless tea. Will definitely visit again.

Morris Sreblowski

Love the good. Had the vegetable platter. The portions are plentiful. Delicious. Great value. Would highly recommend this hot spot.

Samantha Doyle

Food was really tasty. Plenty of Gluten free options indicated on the menu. We tried the Lunch in Beirut (shawarma with hummus and salad, and the Phoenicia Garden (hummus, kale, veggies and fried cauliflower)

Lauren Nunes

Here Comes the Bride is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I love this restaurant, the service is great and vibes are out of this world!

Emma P

Good food, not the best service. Really cute place though.

Danielle Ferrone

Delicious food. Great veg options. Big portions.

Michelle H.

Checked this place out with a friend for Saturday Brunch and we were both very pleased. As other reviews have alluded, the ambiance is great, the decor is charming, the staff is warm and friendly, and most importantly, the food is fresh-tasting and delicious. I think prices are very reasonable given the quality and quantity of food provided. We shared a LUNCH IN BEIRUT, with chicken shawarma and a BELLA AND THE BEAST - the hummus and cauliflower are to die for. We had leftovers that reheated well the next day. Overall, very delicious and would highly recommend! Really happy to hear they have so many vegan and GF options too!

Parveen Hussain

My friends and I had great time at Maro's. The wait staff was quick, friendly and helpful. The food was delish. Will surely go again.

Adam Chapman

The food is all so fresh, flavourful and we'll put together. Service is quick and the staff is unbelievable. I wish I knew about this place sooner!

Amitabh Bhatnagar

I had dinner there tonight. The food is just incredible and very large portions. The cauliflower and the chicken shawarma were 5 stars for sure. My complaint would be uncomfortable bench type seating at many of the tables isn't good for seniors or those lacking flexibility. They seem understaffed with wait staff too....only saw two servers on a very busy Saturday night. Waited close to an hour to get our food served. The waitress told us it would be thirty seconds....ten minutes later we still didn't have our food. That being said, the wait was worth it as just superb taste and freshness to it. This is a great place for vegetarians too. I will repeat for sure but just not on a Saturday night.

Simple Learning

Delicious food, friendly stuff. All food items are Halal.

pat douglas

Wow. What a great take on Mediterranean cuisine. Visually stunning and incredibly well prepared and flavourful. Small dinning area, quiet and welcoming. Open for in restaurant dinning. Helpful and friendly staff. I'll be back. The mojito is a must try if you like minty drinks. Thanks for a superb dining experience.

Shams

Walked in and was immediately stopped by a curtain , felt very ethnic. The guy can over and seated us. My friend who lives here says it’s usually very rush-y, but not today. The menu was pretty simple and we ordered Lunch in Beirut and Lebanese Cavapi along with bottomless Persian tea. The food was amazing, just bottom line. The sauces and hummus was on point and the vegetables were nice and succulent. Yeah, I described the vegetables in such a way. The tea was w bit bitter, but the saffron sugar was a nice touch. The atmosphere, decor and Lebanese music added a nice relaxed ambiance to the experience . Overall , 9/10. Would definitely come back.

CanCom Printing

Great place for all occasions! Food is always fresh and taste great.

Alicia Padamsey

Really amazing food, lots of vegetarian options and large portions. Unfortunately the service wasn't so great. Very disappointing because the food was so delicious, but because of the poor customer service, I probably won't be returning.

Anita Odak

Very bad, unprofessional service. The furniture is old (broken tables and chairs). Don't order baklava because it is very dry and bad taste. Your clothes and hair will smell after.

Naz E

The food is delicious Took off a star because recently we tried to go there and we called them to confirm when they close They said they were open for few more hours When we reached they said they are close

Sergio Torres

As soon as I got here I remembered why I stopped coming in the first place. The service is awful and the food is extremely over priced for the product you get. Sorry but eggplant, zucchini, chickpeas, etc are very cheap to buy, especially as a restaurant. Why am I paying $25 for that? An expensive mediocre meal with a side of terrible service. Not worth the visit. There are so many other places around, dont waste your time here.

Rija Rasul

Great food! Runs about 20-25 a person but the portions are hugee so next time, would share. Went around 2pm on a Sunday and didn't have to wait for a table for 3

Kyle Kim

The food is just amazing here. It’s always a special treat when the owner himself is there cooking and entertaining the guests. You must order Here Comes The Bride and Memories of Persia when coming here!

LargerStoryPerspective DT

Best Middle Eastern food I have ever had. Come here whenever I am in Oakville. Amazing plating and portion sizes! Very attentive servers. Book ahead as they are always busy! Lots of parking in back also.

MK ND

Unreal!!! Best Lebanese/“fusion” I ever had! Maro is a great and so is his team. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you guys

Ares Shaffer

I love this spot! They prepare first-cleass dishes, their menu is decent, The cook in that place is a real authority in the kitchen, I enjoy a lot eating all their dishes. The dishes are always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the guests is good. I frequently visit this place and I was never unsatisfied. Highly recommended.

Sonia Mataj

This place has amazing Mediterranean food! Their dishes are tasty, comforting, and quite filling. My family and I consider Maro's to be one of our favourite restaurants in Oakville!

Tanya Sha

The restaurant has changed since I last visited In 2019. I don’t know if the chefs changed since then, but the food wasn’t as good as I remembered it for how much it costs. Heads up - you gotta pay for water now (they only give bottled water). ALSO none of the waiters were wearing masks properly!! They did not even ask for proof of vaccination for indoor dining. Just asked are you vaccinated but did not care about proof and ID (which is now required!). Disappointed with how careless they were with COVID precautions.

NFL Super Fan

My first visit. The staff is very friendly, makes you feel like family. Good food, though we only shared one appetizer. Will definitely go back hungry!

Zheren Yang

My colleague recommended me this place. I went there for the shawarma. They have a patio in summer. We had beef & chicken mixed shawarma, fried fish fillet and a salad bowl. The portion was big!! The food was really good. The fried fish fillet was well seasoned and fried. It’s not dry or over cooked. I love they sit on hummus and another spread. And the presentation was beautiful as well. Will go back to try other dishes.

Emily Holden

Been here a few times. Absolutely delicious, love the patio atmosphere, will definitely be back

Yatan Nizzar

Amazing food, great atmosphere and decor. Fantastic owner. Everything was amazing!

Lijon G

Had a great time at this cozy, authentic restaurant. Staff was really attentive and friendly despite managing a full crowd for dinner. Lots of health options on the menu.

B. Gallego

Fantastic gem in Oakville. I’ve been there 5 times now and it’s always fantastic. They have really great options for vegetarian dishes (with meat options of course!). They are big servings made for sharing. The space is small but well decorated. I suggest making a reservation for a bigger group if you’re going for your first time. Recommendations on some dishes: Middle Eastern Bowl - a great selection of dips to share! Our regular go-to to share. A Day in the Lebanese Mountains - delicious dish, again with some dips and a veggie wrap. (Picture below) After Sunset - vegan dish with a hearty salad and eggplant dip... really enjoyed this! (Picture below) Burrito Bowl - wasn’t really my favourite. Big portion. Here Comes the Bride - delicious fish dish. The fish was a bit salty though. Simply love - croquettes, I had the beef ones and they’re good!!! But less of a meal than the others. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant with a group of people and sharing different dishes!

T S

This was my first visit (my friend’s 2nd time but 1st time dining in). I won’t return for the lack of transparency in how they bill their patrons. We were asked what we would like to drink upon being seated at our table. My friend and I both simply said “water” and there were no follow-up questions from the server. The server returned with two 500mL eska water bottles and left. We thought nothing of it because we’ve been to restaurants during COVID they opted not to handle glasses and pitchers (note: none of them had hidden water charges!) We had our lunch & dessert then the bill came with a surprise charge for two “flat water” totaling $5.00. I asked the server why we weren’t made aware of the cost, we weren’t given an option and clarified when we said water we meant “tap water”. The server proceeded to explain they were told they cannot serve tap over. I was confused as the city of Oakville tap water is drinkable. As it turned out, their management decided they weren’t going to serve tap water because with increased patio dining many glasses were broken…. It’s not reasonable to expect every patron who asks for “water” to pay for it just because management decided not to offer tap water. If their business model is BYOWater they should advertise as such. I wonder how many unassuming customers they tricked into paying $2.50 with their meals. Bad business practice. Suggestions to Maro’s- invest in shatterproof glasses or absorb 20cents each bottle costs you, stop sneaking charges to make extra profit by refusing to offer tap water and forcing people to buy water without telling them first.

Aakriti Hiteshi

Delicious food, friendly staff and amazing vegan options! We were fortunate to have been awarded in their newer side, which is done up beautifully with planters and gorgeous chandeliers! Definitely recommended. P.S. if you are a black tea person, dfntly try their Persian tea.

Sabeen S

Really amazing Mediterranean fusion food. Perfect flavoring and lots of quantity. Thank you Benson for the service.

Paul Dambrauskas

One of the "diamonds in rough" of Oakville. It is by far the best Middle Eastern restaurants. The prices are a little higher than you would expect, but the portions make up for it. The menu is extensive so be prepared to be indecisive because everything is delicious! Currently there is limited seating so you might have to wait a while to get a seat especially during lunch and dinner. Note, Maro's is more of a lunch spot but with some light dimming, table cloths, and improved wine list it could be an amazing dinner time restaurant.
