Busy and charming. Their bread was chewy and delicious with the olive oil they provide for dipping. I was disappointed with my pasta primavera. It was too salty and yet lacked flavour. It was also too oily and I had to leave the last drowning bits swimming in the pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. All my companions were happy with their selections. Good service.

My family and I love going to Jac’s and it is our favourite restaurant in Oakville. We decided to order take-out for my parents’ 32nd anniversary tonight and it was delicious! The online ordering process on their website is easy to follow and I appreciate the real time estimate for pick-up. We called the restaurant just to confirm if our order and the person on the phone was friendly and informative! We ordered both the grilled and fried calamari as appetizers and they were great. The food was piping hot when we received it, and only had to warm up the fried calamari in the air fryer for a few minutes. For mains, we ordered the gnocchi, lamb shank, chicken and shrimp rigatoni, and the blackened chicken with risotto. Everything tasted amazing and my parents were impressed. The only downside is that it made us miss being able to dine at the restaurant even more! Needless to say, we are very much looking forward to when we can dine at Jac’s!

Enjoyed a great meal there last night! Tables were appropriately “social distanced” and the staff was great. The food was spectacular and we all enjoyed everything we ordered (we were a table of 6). I had the pasta special and really liked it but it was so much food! Everyone else cleaned their plates so maybe it was just me :) Our COVID experience was great at this restaurant - good food, good service, awesome food!

Had a beautiful date night out and our server was always checking in and made sure we were content with the food and if we ever neeed anything. After reading many reviews prior we both settled on the lamb shank for both of us (even though we normally get something different to share). If you're coming here for the first time you can't go wrong with the lamb. The grilled calamari was amazing, it was like butter when it hits your mouth with the perfect texture. We ended with a creme brulee and they absolutely nailed it. We absolutely be coming back and trying something new. Whatever the chefs are doing do not change a thing! Ambiance was great. 10/10

Pretty good. I'll go again. The lightly seared asparagus was cooked to perfection, which you don't see everywhere. The calamari fritto was fresh out the fryer and crisp crust and tender squid. The risotto was pretty good too.

My daughter recently visited Jac's and loved it. She thought the food was fantastic, and really appreciated the service. She thought the atmosphere was great, and loved everything that she ordered. She also found that the portions of food were very large and wished they were smaller. But while saying that, there were a few things that she would've loved if they different. She ordered fried calamari, and seafood linguine. She loved the calamari but thought that the sauce was unnecessary, she also loved the seafood linguine, but thought that the lobster and sauce where only ok. However, even with the sauce and lobster tasting only ok, my daughter said she would definately recommend Jac's bistro to a friend.

Food was delicious. Cooked just the way we ordered. We had a party of 11. All enjoyed the meal, without exception. The steak was tender and medium rare. The risotto was excellent as was the seafood linguini. The wine list was good. Unfortunately not a lot a Ontario wines. We do have excellent VQA wines. Would highly recommend this bistro. Our waiter was excellent as well. I grew up in Oakville but had not been back to this area in a long, long time. What a nice location on Kerr St.

Came in at 8:40 as we looked for a place to eat after a long day on the road. Walked up and the waitress with blonde hair said she would be right with us. We waited 5 minutes while she cleaned a table and as she went by the bar she called over the other waitress. They conferred and the second waitress came over and proceeded to tell us that every single thing on the menu was sold out and that the kitchen had no food left. I understand if it was busy but I have never heard of a kitchen selling of every dish on the menu on a Saturday night. Poor management and it would have been nice if the first waitress hadn't made us wait 5 mins to get someone else to tells us we weren't wanted. Can't comment on the food but I would say I had a very poor customer service experience.

Always seems to be sparsely populated from outside but boy was I wrong. If you can get a reservation it should definitely be on your list. The food is exquisite. So flavourful and perfectly cooked. Only problem is with so many delicious dishes, selection is a nightmare. Make sure you order something different to everyone else so you can trade bites! I ordered the sauteed shrimp in a mushroom sauce and had to ask for a spoon to scrape up every last drop of the sauce. The lamb shank was incredible, I could have pulled the bone clean out of the meat without even disturbing it. Only constructive feedback would be to offer an alternative to potatoes with everything. Some of us are trying to watch our figures, I'm watching mine expand.

The calamari fritti was delicious, as was the spinach salad with added shrimp. Will be returning for a birthday dinner. Great atmosphere and good service Update: the birthday dinner was amazing. 5 guests total. 2 shrimp risotto, 1 gnocchi, 1 seafood linguini, 1 Veal. All absolutely delicious. Not even 1 bite was left on a plate. Also had the calamari fritti which was very good and large - enough for 4 to share. Lemon cake for dessert was very good especially with the coffees and cappuccinos. Total time was about 1 hour and 45 minutes from sitting down to leaving. Excellent waiter who was attentive and fulfilled all our requests. Everyone agreed it was one of the best meals we've had. Will definitely be returning.

We went there for a Christmas dinner with a group of 6. The server was knowledgeable, attentive and with good sense of humour. Our drinks were served quickly, but we had to wait a good while for the food to arrive. However it was all worthwhile. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The portions were perfect. We all shared amazing salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. The server had no problem giving us separate bills. The restaurant has great ambiance and made a long drive from the city worth it. It’s a beautiful place with charm and amazing food and service. Would go back anytime.

If you’re ever in the Oakville Canada ???????? area you have got to eat here. It was a nice, quiet and dim place for dinner with a perfect atmosphere ???????? The creme brûlée is to die for! Probably the best wrap I've ever had - the grilled veggies were super delicious and so we're the fries that came with the wrap. All of the dishes served to us looked and smelled amazing. Jac's is a nice restaurant for a date that won't break the bank. The atmosphere is a sort of quiet sophistication that lends itself well to a romantic evening. The service is excellent and attentive. You definitely feel looked after and the staff are knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. The food is delicious and well portioned. The presentation is nice as well. We were suggested a wine pairing that was great with what we had ordered. Overall it's a lovely, modest kinda classy place good for a quiet date or small group. You'll feel like you had 5 star service but at an affordable price.

The food was amazing. My husband and I ordered lamb ribs and grilled octopus to start. I had the shrimp risotto and my husband had the steak frites. We had a chocolate cake and a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. This was our anniversary dinner and we came to JAC'S because we knew the food would make an incredible night even more magical. We really enjoyed our walk-in lunchtime experience for three. We were seated, offered (and received) drinks, provided the specials, and served promptly, with excellent plate presentation, all during their lunch rush. Service was impeccable, portions were a good size, and dessert was made in-house and delicious. We had 2 of the specials and enjoyed the whole experience. Additionally the restaurant was clean, had updated decor, was well lit, and the kitchen and serving staff were neatly presented.

My wife and my second time going here for date night. Both times food and service were great. This time was a little more quite as it was less busy. It is not a large restaurant and can get loud. I had mussels, shrimp and bacon gnocchi and creme brulee. All delicious. Will go back.

Two harried (but very friendly and professional) wait staff, and two chefs working away were too few. Some entrees didn't arrive as described on the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed dinner there last night on the patio with my son and his girlfriend. We all enjoyed our meals. I had beef tenderloin which was very tender and very nicely presented on creamy mashed potatoes with peppers and asparagus. The shrimp starter was delicious . I would definitely go back. Seems unacceptable customer profiling could be taking place, as well, the food was average tasting. When we came there were several tables available, but they could have been reserved. I am Caucasian, my colleague is of Indian descent (Mongoloid). When we asked for a table, we were asked if we had reservations. We answered in the negative, we asked if we could still be seated. The hostess hesitated and then offered an attractive table to us and stated we could sit there but no where else. While we were seated we noticed three mature Caucasian women come in, who did not have reservations either. When they asked for a table they offered a lovely table by the window. Now there were three available tables left. Another group came in, and apparently they are regulars, they were immediately seated to a table. They could have had a reservation but there was no mention of it, we were seated right next to the hostess and could hear everything. What we heard is that their usual table is available for them. Next we had a lovely Mongoloid couple come in and ask if they could have a table. They were immediately refused a table. Within the next 5 minutes, a group of three Caucasian gentlemen came in and were immediately seated to a table. Its possible they had reservations but when they came in, they asked to be seated and they were immediately seated. For the rest of our meal, we paid attention to see if the other two empty tables would be filled. To our dismay they were not. Its possible that the reserved tables had a no show but we were wonder why when another couple came in 35 minutes later, they were not seated. We were one of the last remaining people for the lunch hour and it was disappointing to see that many were turned away. Further we also noticed that all the patrons were Caucasian and any non-Caucasian was turned away. This could be coincidence but from the moment we were seated and had the hesitation it got our attention. I would like others to start taking notice and stating their experiences if they have noticed the same occurrence. In regards to the service and food, it was average. The food looked better than it tasted but then again I am a Toronto foodist. Food wasn't bad but expected better.

Went for an early dinner on Thursday. The appetizers: Spinach Salad, Grilled Lamb Ribs, Mediterranean Grilled Calamari and the Manhattan Chowder were prepared to perfection! Each of the mains; Beef Stroganoff & Seared Veal Medallions arrived hot and very tastey. Service was wonderful, atmosphere relaxed, food second to none!

I went to Jac's with my girlfriend for lunch. I have not been there in about a year. We loved our meal. It was one of the specials and was excellent. I love the decor in the restaurant and we found it was busy but you could still carry on a private conversation, which is unusual. I will be sure to come again soon.

What a fantastic, under-the-radar spot! We were a group of 8 and had consistently great service and delicious dishes. The interior is beautifully decorated with a lot of attention paid to small details like a different floral arrangement at each table, subtle candlelight, and perfect table settings. It’s little things like this that elevate a restaurant from good to great! Our server Christine was perfect from start to finish and so patient with us still being there long after closing. We never had to ask for water refills or another round of drinks as she was always on top of making sure we had everything we needed. The French Martini was such a unique cocktail and very refreshing for a late summer night. We had the calamari fritti to start, lovely light batter and a very generous portion. A little less time in the fryer would have been good as the calamari was starting to get somewhat chewy. Mains were the Shrimp and lobster linguine and the tenderloin. The linguine was delicious, generous lobster and very fresh and large shrimp. The sauce was just perfect, not too heavy and lots of wonderful flavour. The tenderloin was perfectly medium rare and very tender. Sad to have missed out on the crime brûlée as it was all sold out but we’ll definitely be back soon!

I ve been to JAC's Bistro three times now and I am sad to say that I will not be going back as I wanted it to be on our short list of regular places where we like to eat but it has now been blacklisted by my entire family. 1st time was to try it out and it was a good experience except for the long wait for our food. Approx 50 -60 minutes for a table of 3 2nd time: same thing, this time the food for 2 of us took 49 minutes 3rd time: My mother's birthday. 4 of us. 1 hour and 5 minutes for our food. And yes we did time it on the 2nd and 3rd visit. During my last two visits we rarely got checked on and I think that is because the table of 15 people or so was getting all the attention from the wait staff. They are all quite nice and professional and their customer service as a whole is good. So a good place to eat if you don't mind waiting a long time to get your food. With all due respect to JAC's Bistro, you haven't earned the right to make us wait that long. I can think of restaurants where ive eaten in LA, with executive chef's at the helm, where the food is more complex and served in an appropriate amount of time.

I love Jac's Bistro, my type of restaurant - small, fun, and doesn't take themselves too seriously. The food is exciting and refreshing. Try the lobster risotto and short ribs. Again, which seems to be the theme of Oakville I wish they had some more local wine options. I love supporting the wineries we get to visit but for some reason my local restaurants dont seem to support the local wineries.

My wife an I went to Jac's for the first time on Thursday night. My Pasta with Bolognese Sauce was tasty but the portion was very small. My wife ordered baked halibut which was very over-cooked and bland to boot. She asked for vegetables to be well-cooked so they would be soft enough to eat because she recently had oral surgery. They came crunchy. The Waitress, Christie, was just annoying. She was trying to be classy but she came across as being phoney. To me, she belongs in a diner, not a want-to-be higher-end restaurant. We won't be back.

We do not think of Kerr street as a FINE restaurant destination. This place is good....I had 3 appetizers...the NE clam chowder...which was exceptional...meaty and served really hot (temp. wise). Then their version of the classic Caesar salad...very good...and with a bit of "heat"...I also had optional anchovies with it....finished with fresh mussels...delightful My wife had a very tasty mushroom spinach salad, of which she said would order again... Wines are well priced...with a reasonable selection of reds and whites...trust me, we will be back.. Service is knowledgeable and efficient...Nadine was great.

Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary really. I had seafood linguine but it only had three shrimps in it and the portion was small so I went away hungry. Staffing service was good. It was also very clean and a nice atmosphere. I would go there again but I would definitely try something different.

Quiet restaurant makes it possible to have conversations. Good attention to dietary restrictions and happy to make substitutions. The lamb chop appetizer was delicious! I could have eaten a few orders of those for my whole meal. A pleasant place for dinner with any group.

This place is a hidden gem!! Just had my 40th birthday party here and the food was AMAZING!!! So delicious! Our party of 15 loved it. I had the gnocchi with sauteed mushrooms with gorgonzola which was literally foodgasmic!! We will definitely be back!!

Amazing food, great taste .Went for lunch and got the lunch special -Awesome - Waitress was cold and a bit snotty .When we asked for the bills , she brought back one bill without asking ( we were two females) and seemed annoyed when we asked for separate bills. Ordered a mojito, took one sip - worse mojito ever - told her it was way too sweet ,she could see I did not drink it - yest she charged me.Her attitude to the busgirl who was really pleasant was condescending. Will go back gain because of the food but hope she is on vacay or something ,if it weren't for her you would have got 5 stars

We were a party of 10, apps dinner, drinks and dessert. DELICIOUS food, served steaming hot, seafood was so fresh! Great cocktails, and dessert was to die for! Warm service, we never felt rushed. Fantastic experience!

Food was good, but the coffee was lukewarm, weak, and expensive for what we received. Surprising for an Italian restaurant. Great wait staff. So if you go, just have coffee somewhere else and you'll have a good evening

I had Ceasar salad served with a warm piece of bacon on top. It was a nice touch. My main was the short ribs with mashed potatoes. The ribs melted in my mouth. Cheese cake for dessert was made with a salted caramel topping which was fantastic. The atmosphere was contemporary and casual. I would definitely go back in the future.

FANTASTIC our Waiter Jerome was the Best Service was a 10. We just left there 10 minutes ago and its THE BEST Italian meal I HAVE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME. I've had the pleasure of dining here twice and I feel confident saying this is one of the premier resteraunts in Oakville. The first time I had the best steak of my life, and tonight I had amazing salmon. A clean and welcoming interior filled with nice looking decore and clean tables. Constantly rolling specials that keep you wanting to return, and quick service even though it is always packed. Jac's is turning into the de facto special occasion reateraunt for evenings out.

We shared the Italian comfort, stuffed chicken, beef tenderloin, pecan pie and icecream sandwich. Everything on every plate was absolutely delicious, but the tenderloin steak with blue cheese crumble and jus stole the show and was a perfect medium rare. We hope to be back and feel we got even more than what we paid for. This was perfect for our big summer date :)
