As you know, we do not usually stop to place reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Asian fusion restaurant.
Let me start by saying, this is an all you can eat restaurant, but drive-in! The experience alone is a must for everyone. I am not a crazy sushi fan but my wife absolutely loves sushi. But, there was a lot of options that wasn't sushi. So I was more than happy. Went here on Saturday. I had an Amazing experience. The food quality was great. Only bad thing was the washroom situation, because of covid, they didn't have a bathroom for their guests. Had to walk around to metro to use it. A little inconvince but it wasn't something they can control. Overall, I will be going back soon. This time, my friends and I will be coming in a couple cars, so I can have a dining experience with them while maintaining social distance. Definitely recommend.
First time trying this place...i really like it!! Very good sushi????????
I came here because everyone I knew said it was great but unfortunately it was not. I waited 35 minutes in the middle of my buffet to get four rolls and by that time it was 915pm and the restaurant closes at 930pm. To top it off, they only had MasterCard or cash which I think they should have stated before we ordered because most people use their debit card. The food wasn’t pleasing and the rush of eating our food hurt everyone’s stomach. Not a repeat.
Tried a new place in Oakville. We arrived at noon and within 15 minutes the whole place was packed. Sushi and dim sum were both top notch. Salmon was fresh and soft like butter. We ordered a whole range of items and the experience was awesome.Service was pretty good as well.
Went for lunch today. Very disappointed. No sashimi at lunch time and sushi were sliced paper thin with big lump of rice. Tempura has thick batter. You can eat as much as you like, but don't expect high quality. Quality definitely went downhill from a couple of years ago.
Combination dim sum and sushi is great. Prices are a tad steep. Service and food quality were great. Would go back.
Meal type
For someone who isn’t the biggest fan of sushi, I can say that everything tasted great and all of our dishes came out quickly!
Menu was not as expected; missing multiple dishes !? I don’t recommend any of the beef dishes products; however, chicken skewers dish was very delicious !
We really enjoyed our time there, it took a little longer than usual though for most items. Not their fault, covid has affected a lot of things. Regardless, service and staff were very good and I would definitely recommend supporting this local chain
Dine in
Service
This place was good back in 2015. I used to visit this place almost every week. Since Covid I have not been able to go in and dine, but I managed to order through Uber. Unfortunately the food was not warm, even though it was on priority. The best sushi that I liked was the spicy Crispy Salmon roll. It was fresh and very crispy. Torched Salmon Oshizushi : It was okay. It was COLD Torched Scallop Oshizushi : Cold didn’t enjoy it. Steamed Beef Balls : delicious Torched Rainbow Roll : Good, not great. I will give this place another shot but this time I will go dine IN.
This is honestly one of the better all you can eat sushi restaurants around town, the food quality is above average and the pairing sauces are are on target. The interior is beautiful at this location and the lunch prices are competitive. Add a lemon squeeze to the edamame ????. Perfect.
Fresh food, beautiful location, lots of seating and friendly staff. I love that they allow you to build your own trays! That's brilliant and I wish it was done at more establishments. Got an order of free frozen dim sum with my first online order. Will definitely return if I'm in the area and would certainly recommend! Photo: Build your own Maki tray with spicy tuna, spicy butterfish, Kings roll, spicy crispy roll, Philadelphia roll, mango roll
Service was good, most of the food was good, but they turned off the music and air conditioning an hr before they closed, so it was a weird dynamic.
I normally dont give 5 stars for AYCE restaurants but this location definitely deserves it. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating to our dietary requests. Food was fresh and delicious. Great atmosphere and fresh sushi. Will definitely be back.
Waiting over 30 mins twice in one sitting so an hour for very little food just a hand roll and some other smaller things. Had to ask multiple times where the food was or why it was taking so long and everyone else around was receiving huge quantity orders. You only have 90 mins due to covid which is fine but not if you're waiting an hour!!! Go to another location like Burlington, smaller but never had a bad experience
Torched sushi! This is probably the best all you can eat in all of Halton. The service is excellent and although the sushi is not a la carte quality, it’s still very good. Good amount of rice, fish quality is pretty decent.
UPDATE: Their drive-in all-you-can-eat has changed for the worse. You must pay, then park and wait for them to text you that your food is ready. Then you have to go pick it up yourself. Not sure what we tipped $30 for when we're the waiters. They throw all the food into one platter, and refuse to give you containers to split the food between everyone. They also refused to give us a bag to throw away our garbage. It took 30 minutes for every order to get made - and they would come out cold. There were 4 people just standing around inside while we waited a total of 2 hours for 2 platters of food and dessert. Not worth $50 per person. Staff were very defensive and confrontational about the most mundane things - like a plastic bag. OLD METHOD: Went for the drive-in all-you-can-eat. It was fun! We went inside to pay first then parked in the back. They gave us a QR code to scan and from there we ordered the food from our phones. The food came out at a fair pace. The waiters/waitresses were friendly! The food was high quality and fresh, too. The only down side was that it came to a total of $50 per person.
We were quite excited to try another all you can eat drive-in sushi place - they’re usually quite fun and worth the $$ to support a local restaurant. Unfortunately, August 8 in Oakville was probably my worst experience with ANY restaurant… I generally don’t like to write bad reviews but I wished I would have known about these scammers. First - they refused to serve me water, even though I had purchased two drinks. Second - we came for lunch, but they charged us dinner rates. Third - they were rude and complained about having to work in the heat Fourth - it only took 10-15 min to get the food (which is not bad) but they never even asked us if we wanted anything (no check-ins like normal restaurants) Fifth - they wouldn’t let me pay with debit and insisted on cash…don’t really carry cash on my during covid times. Just use my debit card to tap. Lastly - the bill came to $96 and change and they asked us for more tip when we gave them $140 AND the service was absolutely terrible!! I’ve been to other August 8 locations and this was by far my worst experience… Diners beware…
Delicious food, friendly staff, great portions
Dine in
Busy inddor lunch dining with plexi barriers between guests. Service is by tablet. It was fast and decent. Some flavour depth was lacking and the the meat skewers were a little dry. The salmon belly was flavourful and the sushi was fresh with good textures. Staff were quick and attentive. Price is a little high and there is no sashimi for lunch but overall August 8 still offers a good overall selection and dining experience.
Great food and fast service. Staff is very friendly.
Tried the drive-in all you can eat. Items were a little bit late which is totally understandable. They still put effort into presentation and quality of food. So thank you August 8 staff.
Delivery
Service
Terrible experience. I tried to take my children to the washroom, when the one besides us started to leak and, suddenly, the dirt water covered the whole place. They had to close down the restaurant. We never heard any apologies from their side. My children are still traumatized. Never going back there again.
If you're looking for a good fill of Asian fusion it's worth a visit! All you can eat menu has a lot of options. The food is prepared a la carte and arrives very quickly, you order directly from an iPad at your table so no need to wait for a server to stop by. But don't expect to find specialty maki rolls on the all you can eat menu but that's similar to most other all you can eat sushis ive been to. Lots of options that aren't sushi too which were all great. Three of us were there ordering plates on average every ten minutes for two hours and there wasn't a single bite of food left over at the end of it. You could get two specialty rolls and be finished a meal in 15 minutes at a regular sushi spot or you could spend the same amount and do all you can eat for hours.
Dine in
Food was good but was disappointing to find out 30 minutes later that some of the items I ordered were not available. At least let me know or flag it on your iPad instead of making me wait.
I'm unsure of all the negative comments. The food came out at very quick times and they made each order correctly. They give you 2 hours to eat however much you can. Always excellent meal from August 8.
Awful experience! We found hair in one of our orders. This happened near the end of our meals so it was disgusting. I tried emailing a complaint but heard nothing back.
Had to wait 40 minutes for a table to free up, would recommend calling in beforehand. Good food ,good presentation, good environment, worth it.
The delivery quality has declined over the last 12 months. My order was definitely packed quickly and sat out as most of it was cold / soggy. The shrimp dim sum was COLD and sort of hard (not soft and warm) and the crab sashimi was 100% previously frozen. It was almost watery when I bit into it. And for my “udon” (if you could call it that) was really just a bowl of soggy seaweed, boiled huge pieces of chicken breast and rubbery udon noodles with a Mr. Noodle flavour packet broth on the side. It pains me to write a bad review because we’ve ordered here a dozen of times but I think this is the last time…
The drive in ayce is not as good as it seems. You can only order 5 items for each order, and you have to wait to get your order before you can make another order. Which seems fine until you find out the wait to get each of your orders is 30min. It's also been switched to their take out portions... Not at all ayce. Which means if you order “1 order” of sashimi you will get 1-2 pieces. So let's say your someone who loves going to ayce to try the single sushi, sashimi, dim sum, (any other individual/paired item) you will have to sit with your 5-10 pieces of food for 30min before you can order more. Plus there's a 1h 30min limit. Not worth the price if you technically can't do ayce.... At their current wait time along with the time limit, you can only order 5 items, 3 times, you can maybe squeeze in 4 orders. Plus they don't tell you any of these limits when you inquire about limits over the phone. Save your money for a better execution of this idea.

Great experience at the Oakville location, service might benefit from a little more training though
Food was good. The rolls were huge. The ice cream was horrible. We always go to the Burlington branch and it’s always amazing, but Oakville branch is okay.
Your good ol' AYCE sushi place with dim sum options. Good when you want that sushi fix, or when you and your friends can't decide between sushi or dim sum for brunch. Quick service, easy to use menu and quite a few options. You can't go wrong with this place.
Came here to find out that they do not have mango icecream. I love this icecream and even last time they had 3 items missing. Everytime they say they have dessert items missing. One server went to check and said the mango icecream was there, where as our server said it was not there. Such a bummer. I am really disappointed. We dont even know if they actually had the icecream or whether they were saving it for other customers.
Very slow service. Sometimes hot food comes out cold, and not all plates ordered were served to our table. Waiting staff not very friendly.
Extremely slow service. Very disappointed i spent hours out of my weekend there just to eat a few pieces for all you can eat. They slow down on purpose so that you are full faster. Not coming back again.
Visited on a Wednesday for the first time. Service was prompt and the food was delicious with good pricing. Would like to see more pictures on the iPad ordering. Would return again.
Food was good, however service was terrible. Went there twice and and had the same bad service experience.
Satisfied. I never disappointed with August 8 both in Hamilton and Oakville. The place in Oakville is bigger I think. The taste of the food is very good. I really like the dimsum. Don't forget to try their mango pudding and mango ice cream after finish with the big meal.
I came here with my fiancées best friend. The best friend approved because of this place. PSA: all guys NEED to come here with their gyalfriends. Enjoy. Also Jacky the waiter is amazing.
Went about a week ago. The park-in eat outside service now consists of you ordering via the app (barcode), going inside and picking up your order, then continuing to eat, order, and retrieve food from the front area, and repeat. Its was 2 of us in the back of the truck with a camp table set up and was pretty good. Only had to go back and forth 3 times , and we're big eaters. Doable, and the food was good.
The best place that Every year we want to come. Thefood and the service is very nice.
So the website won't accept reservations, they won't answer calls... when you reach there you see a bunch of tables with reservation plaque on them and you are told to wait for 60+ minutes to get a table. The food is very fresh, but they are out of eel, salmon by 7.30pm. The dessert is an underwhelming scoop of ice cream or a tiny custard bun... they are out of puddings too! However the staff are genuinely nice and warm, too eager to please and helpful. One of them actually apologized to me when my child's face fell at the sight of the sorry little icecream.
This place had a great atmosphere, terrible service, and only looks fine due to the decor all around. Prior to coming to August 8, I thought this location would be better than it’s Burlington chain, but I was greatly disappointed. The food was also terrible, the facilities were not clean. The rate of which the food came out was also terrible, whilst there was almost only nobody there. A very disappointing evening at August 8. The food was tasteless, and I overall didn’t enjoy the dining experience at all. I might recommend if you’re starving, but otherwise go somewhere else.
Great food, not so great prices (hence the 1 star dock off). Salmon teriyaki is a must try.
Out of all the sushi buffet venues in the GTA, August 8 offers a refreshing experience unlike all others. The team there is friendly, takes time to talk to you re: allergies, helpful tips, etc. Most notably, they do not rush you out of the restaurant and say stay as long as you would like. This attention to customers needs is genuine and authentic. No tip is forced unlike other AYCE sushi, so we were able to tip based on how great we found the service. Highly recommend the torched selection.
Two days ago I went to eat at this restaurant. I had arrived late so they said I had 30 minutes to order. Later on the Maki wasn’t delivered, until I had called the manager when he told me that the cuisine had closed, but earlier on he told me I had 30 minutes to order. I said I wasn’t gonna pay until he brought up my order. 1 minute later the maki was on the table.
Quick service, friendly staff and a large selection of dishes from dim sum to sushi. This is one of Oakvilles largest and longest operating sushi joints for a reason.
The food here is truly the best sushi place I have been to. The variety blew me away there is a little bit of everything. The only thing I didn't like which I have to say is why I go to sushi places is for the white tuna. I found their (butter fish) not that fresh here in the sashimi. But might of been an off night everything else was very good.
Pretty decent all you can eat sushi place. The service was quick, but nothing special about the food, the sushi rolls tasted old.

**Update: Returned to this restaurant with a group of 7 now that we are in Phase 3. Our reservation was for 8pm so we made sure to order quickly before 9:30pm kitchen close. Unfortunately we left hungry as a lot of our food did not arrive at our table and we told staff multiple times of this, yet we still did not get our food and they seemed to not really care. Completely opposite experience from my first time here so most likely won't be returning.** This was my first time going & it was the last day before the province went back into lockdown so we wanted to have a nice final meal before that. From the beginning, the service was awesome from the host to the servers. They were quick & efficient. The food was really good & enjoyable. I noticed a hair in my dessert & alerted a server who quickly took it, got me a new one, took 10% off of our bill AND gave us a 10% off coupon for our next visit. Will definitely be back!
only reason it wasn't a 5 i'm a visual person, i need images when i'm ordering my food so when they update that fully on there ipad its an easy 5. i totally recommend this place. Updated September 2021, had amazing dinner there today and the service was in point
I ordered takeout from this place and the food had no flavour and the sashimi was frozen (not cold but frozen). Probably, the worst sashimi/rolls I have ever had.
Fantastic all you can eat sushi place! Great ambience as well!
Food was good and the drive in experience was great during this times. Highly recommend it
They serve the same type of all you can eat sushi like every other sushi joint. The food was served quick and correct. The servers made sure you had water. Would I go out of my way to come here again? Probably not.
Dinner
Let me preface this by saying, the food, as always, is delicious! The prices continue to climb but the service continues to decline. I have been to many sushi restaurants and this one always has bad service not sure why. We ordered a number of things that never came out, we were worried to reorder so we wouldn’t have too much so we kept waiting. I had made a reservation and when we walked in it took soo long to get someone to even acknowledge us at the front, so many workers passed by completely ignoring us and not even smiling back when I would smile at them. Unfortunately I would not recommend solely based on the service but I love their sushi and the food is great!
amazing service. staff are friendly, quick and helpful! the restaurant is clean, plexiglass shields between tables, guests are socially distanced and staff are masked. felt safe but most importantly, food was GREAT!!!

I really like how extensive this menu is when you come on the weekend for dinner. They have a lot of traditional Hong Kong dim sum dishes such as the custard buns and even the stuffed eggplant and tripe. My husband really likes the dim sum and I really like the sushi. The sushi itself is actually quite good quality for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Highly recommend a visit though it is on the more expensive side.
Has been there few times. However the last takeout experience was terrible! Sushi was a bit smelly already and was having stomach after having the taco.
My favorite sushi place, you order from iPad's at the table, very good service, and very good food. Update: visit on 10/23/20, Still my favourite place for All you can eat Sushi and so much more, now they have a robot that helps move trays from the floor to the kitchen, as well as phenomenal food and great fast service.
Was excited to try this new location but honestly there was barely any salmon/ fish in most of the sushi orders as shown in pictures. I even had to return one of the fried sushi order back cause it was mainly fired rice. I wish the sushi was as good as the service.
Went to the AYCE drive in at the Oakville location. WHAT A DISASTER. Absolutely ridiculous service. They bring you one box of food and you wait for 20 minutes to get another box. The servers have no idea about how to check on your order and how long it might take. Very obviously they don't care about reviews since they know people will keep coming. Customer service was never their thing even before COVID when you could dine in. Now that they are popular, forget about it. Especially disappointed because we were celebrating a birthday there and it just completely ruined the experience.
We sometimes order delivery from this place, rolls are ok and decent for my taste. Prices are reasonable. Thank you!
Lunch
Too much rice in sushi rolls... Really slow service.... The sushi And overall quality of the food was not impressive
came here with my sugar mama and we did their drive thru experience during the lockdown. food was good. service was alright. update: dined in just recently and the food was phenomenal
We're really enjoyed the sushi today. Thanks ????????????????
Reached August 8 almost at closing time and thus could not try all you can eat sushi. Landed up trying two vegetarian Maki roll and better half tried the torched shrimp sushi and a chicken bowl. Even with the fact that the food was almost made at closing hour it was very good and not rushed at all. The service was very good as well and not for a minute did we feel rushed or unwelcomed. Will go again to try some more food soon. Only hoping they add atleast one vegetarian dumpling to their menu!!!!
Drive in sushi is awesome! They were very friendly and accommodating. I downloaded a movie to my phone and we ordered off my girlfriends phone. They bring it right out to your car. It was a great little date night.

I made reservations for drive in sushi on Sunday night so obviously it was crazy busy due to long weekend. Service was good and food was coming at reasonable pace. Torched Salmon was my favorite. I'm thankful that there's atleast a place we can go to. It was almost $50/person which I think a little expensive other that that everything was good.
One of the best all you can eat sushi place I have been to so far. Prices are abit expensive for the all you can eat but the food taste and quality is excellent. Service can improve better because at one point we had to wait 20min to get our order because they forgot about it.
The food was fantastic and the first order came quickly. The second order took longer and the dessert order seemed to take forever. There were items missing from the first two orders and it was a little difficult to get a drink. Also when I asked for a server through the iPad no one came so we had to flag someone down. Had to get the manager to get dessert. Overall still a positive experience.
Food was incredible! Came fast after ordering!
Tired to eat here multiple times and always been refused service because they are understaffed or close early. Worst place
Pretty good sushi and side dishes.
Very busy facility. I prefer the Brampton location for ambiance, but still a decent setup and decent food.
I stopped in for lunch while in town for business and was not aware this was an all you can't eat place. After getting over my initial confusion, this place is great! There's an iPad on the table that allows you to order the items vs going through a typical buffet line. I was thrown at first by the small sushi portions but for all you can eat, it makes much more sense. Quality is decent and the variety is amazing. Solid lunch prices.
Went there for dinner with family and friends. It's a great place for unlimited Chinese and Japanese sampler sitting buffet. It gets really busy so reservations are recommend.
Great food came out quickly and did not feel rushed. The menu was spot on besides the deserts but was so full didn’t need to have any. Only negative was the edamame was way to salty but Best sushi i have ever had.
Usually places with all you can eat tends to stop caring about their quality once they have a solid customer base. This place on the other hand has been consistent with the quality of food. Great job folks keep it up ????. Customer service was pretty good as well, we received everything we ordered.
Lucy, our server for the night was so gentle, kind and just took the time to make our family feel welcome. Thank you, Lucy. So, the service was great and the food was amazing honestly. I recommend eating there rather than takeout.
I think it is the Best sushi in the GTA, fresh food, great taste, fast & friendly service. Will definitely come back.

Service
We loved pretty much everything we ordered - except for the chicken sushi please do not put chicken/beef in sushi - sushi was amazing! Keep up the good work! Here are a couple of pictures from my Instagram account.
I arrived for dinner but had forgotten my mask. Businesses are supposed to provide a mask for customers but this place decided to charge me $4 for a disposable mask!!! It definitely took away from the dining experience.
Went on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Service was great and very prompt. Food was excellent. This location is way better than the Hamilton locations. Highly recommended. Update: Went again today and I will still give it 5 stars. Exceptional service and fresh tasty food.
We have just recently discovered this place but have ordered three times from there already. Always fresh, always good and consistent quality. Not the best sushi we've tried but very, very good. Butter fish is our favorite and August 8 has a ton of butter fish items on their menu. Very few places do. Love that. Will be ordering again soon.
Good food, good selection and great service by Carrie. They probably have one of the wider selections around for lunch all-you-can-eats with Japanese and Chinese dim sum dishes. For AYCE, prices are good, quality was good to very good, and presentation was great too. iPad ordering is effective and includes menu item descriptions. Winning dish was the onion/spinach/shrimp dumpling and a surprise, the loser was the hot and sour soup. Although some things came out almost instantly (soups/salad), unfortunately, some things took a long time to come out or didn't come out together (shrimp and vegetables tempura) and they were also out of some of the menu items. We came for lunch and washrooms were ok, but in need of cleaning and repair. Staff followed all the COVID rules and checks. Lots of parking in the parking lot and easy to get to off of the highway.
For the price, quality and selection it’s a must, we love August 8. It’s our go too for Sushi and Dim Sum. Always looking forward to visiting August 8.
Very fresh all you can eat sushi with an option to do drive in if you don't feel like sitting at a table or restaurant is full. The reason for 4 stars is that it's fairly expensive at 37$ each (doesn't even include drinks!) + automatic 15% service charge on drive in.
My family's favorite! Take-out is great but the dine-in experience is really fun. Can't wait to go back! FYI, if ordering take out/pick up, I'd recommend using their online ordering system. I called to place an order and there was a mix up... With a large menu like their's, there are a few things that sound similar. I ordered a veggie maki tray and the person taking the order entered veggie maki set. That's a difference in 18 pieces! No big deal, the problem was corrected. But using the online ordering system would have avoided the issue and saved about an hour of my time.
Tried out the drive in all you can eat and all I can say is WOW - being able to order from your phone, eat in your car and still be able to support August 8 is super cool!! Our experience was mainly amazing because of great server Daniel, he was the only waiter and was busting it to make sure every car had their food promptly. He was funny, friendly and just great! I would recommend the experience and give Daniel a hey when you go!
The drive-in all you can eat was delicious! I loved the service, but I felt badly for the staff as it was raining when we went. They were amazing, running the food out to the cars despite the weather and cold. I would go again as the food was good and the price makes it well worth it.
Went for lunch. Seated quickly. Few key items like edamame and mango desserts weren't available. Some food came very late, others cold. Experience is slowly going down over time
I would give zero stars if it were an option! Tried to eat here last night on Mother’s Day... unfortunately upon arrival we were told that the AYCE drive in sushi was cancelled.. no call no nothing .. not even an apology or dash of concern from the flamboyant Asian Version of Jeffery Star that they had working the front. Yet they continue to advertise it on their website.. bad business practice and an abomination of costumer service. Will never try to give my business to this place in the future and I’ll be sure to tell all my sushi loving friends to steer clear if they actually want to eat. You guys blow! ( literally)
Lovely place, menu and good service! We celebrated our friends birthday at this nice place located very conveniently by the highway not far away from downtown Oakville. I was satisfied with the fastness of service, the quality of food and the variety of foods offered. Their wine selection was not full, which I thought was kind of weird being located 50 meters away from the LCBO. The first 2 kinds of wine we choose from the menu were not available.
I was really disappointed at this time as we used go oftenly before lockdowns. Waitresses were so careless. A few things we ordered didn't come at all. When we asked after a while we ordered, they said it's not available. And most importantly they didn't have custard bun and sesame seed balls as desert. Those two deserts were the only reason i would go there.
Went twice to the drive in sushi, first time was pretty slow, quality was amazing though. Second time, more waiters so it was much quicker, Daniel was amazing, ran back and forth to make sure everyone got it on time.
Food was very good and staff very nice. I know that sounds overly simplistic but I was so hungry and in such good company that I didn't even think to take more pictures when I sat to eat.
This is how take out unagi black dragon roll looks like. One piece of eel per 4 rolls. Really??? Even avocado pieces are missing. Awful packaging. Rice sticks to the cardboard badly so good luck with pulling the whole roll with chopsticks. Never ever.
I was very excited to try this place out but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. I checked the prices on their website, and even confirmed them when I was making my reservation but it wasn't the same when I came to the store. When I told them I saw a different price on the website, the guy said "What website?" How do you have a store and not know that you have a website up? The total was $150 for 3 people which honestly seemed way to high to me and not worth it. The guy I spoke too was very condescending and was constantly gaslighting me when I asked for clarification, in fact, he was being rude to his female coworker which I thought was unfair to her, as she was the only decent person I spoke to at the store. I ended up leaving and going to another sushi place nearby. I unfortunately cannot rate the food because I didnt get a chance to try it, because I couldn't get past the bad service. Oh well.
The food is very good the service is very good very clean restaurant. A little pricey. All in all good experience.
Service is excellent ????. Food variety is moderate, considering the price for the buffet is on the high side. The sushi slices on top of the rice is so thin, seems to be machine sliced. But overall everything is delicious ????
Waited for 45 minutes and did not receive food. Called the staff to make sure they were receiving my order through the buffet app and they confirmed they were. No food still never showed up. Contacted the manager and got a full refund. Would not recommend.
Food was great as expected. Disappointed that custard buns were out, but the server recommended the egg yolk bun instead. Expected it to be salty, but was not disappointed as it was very sweet. Great recommendation by her.
In general it was a good experience.. Atmosphere 10/10 Service 10/10 Now for food, everything is very good to excellent except for the rolls. There's a room for development. The dumpling, scallops, soup and many others are really good. The dessert menu is very limited but the ice cream is one of the best. Value 8 / 10 Definitely in my short list..
We frequently eat at this restaurant. When I say frequently, I mean weekly. The service is fast, the food is always high quality and the staff are friendly. I have tried other sushi restaurants around Ontario and this is always my first choice. We go so often, the staff now know us by name and treat us like family. The tablet ordering system is always efficient and the staff helpful. The in-house dressing on the garden salad is one of my favourites.
Hmmm. I couldn't decide whether i wanted to start with the Mango Sushi or the handrolls. I think i should start with me. Lol Being a bigger individual, i want options and this place does not lack in such. From mango fried chicken hybrid california rolls to customized orders with BBQ Eel cooked just how i expect a delicacy to be prepared, this place entices even the most novice sushi try-ers. Definitely didn't know cream cheese could hit on a level like this. Cheers to August 8th for starting with a big bang.
Great food and plenty of options to choose from. Unfortunately the service was not that great. Even though it was not busy at all nor there was people waiting to be seated, I felt rushed to leave. We went over the weekend (Sunday evening) for 'all you can eat' but after the 2nd order, they started slowing down the orders and were taking way longer to bring the food to my table to the point where the last order did not even make it. They also missed some of the items. I felt they were controlling the amount of food I could eat so perhaps they should change their concept from 'all you can eat' to 'all we allow you to eat' or 'all you can eat in 45 minutes'. My party was very standard: my wife and two kids. Also a bit of smiling from the workers would be nice. Not recommended!
the service is quick and the dishes are great too. Very easy to order
Great sushi restaurant. All you can eat menu is available when dining in. Fish is fresh and consistent portions. One of the very few places that also serves dim sum as an option. Safety measures are in effect. The restaurant is relatively large call Head and mKe reservations.
One of the best Japanese restaurants we ever went to. We're from Cambridge and we don't mind driving to Oakville just to eat at August 8
We went for lunch and ordered off the dinner menu. Price was a little high but it was worth it for the quality of the food. The salmon sashimi was excellent, we also had several of the beef dishes were cooked perfectly. And several other items which were all very good except for the fried squid which I found had too much breading and not enough squid.
the quality was not match to the price. I had better sushi much cheaper.
Great quality but less variety than some other places we've been to. Great service and friendly people. Edit: can you please fix the iPads to have the pictures ? That really made it hard to go off based on text descriptions only. Thank you!
I love this restaurant! Food is amazing ???? ! is perfect ???? for enjoy with friends and family even yourself after a long day ! Staff very friendly too ????you need to try ! I think Is better is you being cash ????
No real distancing between tables. Masks required when walking around but wasn't enforced as we saw several people walking around with no mask. At least half hour wait to sit down.
The food is overall pretty good. Not as much selection as Mandarins. But definitely higher quality food overall. The customer service is great and the seating is great. The environment is comfortable and the wait is usually short on normal days.
Good Sushi !! Need to bring in orders on time!!
Tried the outdoor dining after covid restrictions were relaxed. Food quality is still amazing, really enjoyed all you can eat after so long if you don't mind the cars driving by or weather if it's sunny or too hot.
The quality of sushi & roll is bad but the others is not bad. I'm not going to visit there again.
Great sushi restaurant. Fresh food good service!
Fantastic takeout! We ordered to our hotel and met the driver in the lobby. The food was all absolutely perfect! I get nervous ordering sushi sometimes from new places because I’ve been let down so many times… I was very impressed with the taste and quality of every bite! We ordered a maki combo and some spicy butterfish, avocado salad, hot n sour soup, pork and beef shumai, and bbq pork buns. We loved it all! I think the sushi was especially wonderful.
Food is always great here have not had a bad experience, I always find its fresh the wait staff is fast and friendly. I can't wait to get back to normal so I can visit on the regular again. keep up the great work!
Loved it. Food is always consistent. Multiple options such as drive in buffet (downside don't go overboard ordering), pick up and dine in. Felt really comfortable

If you are looking for only quantity than this is the spot for you. There are many better ayce out there, save your money for those spots. There is always dirt on the seats and floors, even when you arrive at noon when they just open! Fish to rice ratio is awful, we had some sad looking pieces that should have been thrown back in the water. Highlight was shrimp tempura and batter. Tried this place out before when they had just opened and it has really gone downhill. These local guides must be getting free meals or a kickback for their biased reviews...
Very popular Asian fusion all-you-can-eat (90 minute seatings) restaurant in suburban Oakville. The servers are very friendly and efficient at bringing your food and clearing your dishes. The menu is a diverse mix of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisine. Everything comes very fresh and hot! I highly recommend the steamed curry squid, korean beef short ribs, and the steamed egg sponge cake!
Chinese run Dim Sum and Sushi fusion style of restaurant which is kind of weird, as they don’t really mixed well together. I would not recommend sushi or sashimi as they are not specialised in the art. They served them like a fast food restaurant, all prepared in advance and not freshly made! Dim Sum is not very good either… Their fry dishes are better as they require less technical and artisan skills. Generally speaking food is ok, just not enjoyable. Restaurant is clean and open. Service is average. Fast service. Food 7/10, ambience 7/10, service 7/10, value for money 7/10.
Easily the best AYCE sushi in the area. Super fast service and the food is always amazing.
This used to be our favorite buffet style restaurant for quite a few years. The sushi were always so-so but the grilled meats and fish were really good. Today we have been here for the first time since Covid started and it left us very disappointed. The sushi became ultra basic and tasteless while the rest of the food over cooked and dry... I do not think we will be coming back.
Considering that we had to wait 30 mins 2 weeks back for a take out. We ordered 60 mins ahead to pick up food at 6:30pm but guess what it's over 45 mins and we are yet waiting to pick up in parking lot.
Sorry to say this, but please train your employee how to serve customer the right way. Educate them how to talk to customer politely in manner instead of saying “Well, too bad” and rolling his eyes.
The place is great! Good food with a friendly staff. There are lots of options available on the ipads to order with quick service. The desert is pretty amazing! I love the atmosphere; good music and beautiful decor. Just as good as other all you can eat Asian Cuisine restaurants but cheaper!
