Not sure what the hype is all about. I spent 50 dollars and the food was boring with unseasoned rice, potatoes cooked in tomotato sauce and chicken souvlaki that was burnt chewy and falavoress. The souvlaki pita was decent only because it was loaded with sauce. Customer service was fantastic and may why they get two stars. Once you realize where this place is located you understand why the high reviews about flavour and taste Way better options to spend 50 bucks in Oakville and Burlington when it comes to MEd food

The food was very good and the portions were adequate. The amount of garlic sauce I got with my meal was rather small. There was only one server and they were quite busy at 1 in the afternoon. But she did a good job. Fairly clean but you have to watch where you sit. They have hanging lights that come to a point and I did bump into one.

Don't let the shadiness of the plaza fool you. This is quality Mediterranean. I had the shawarma with a side salad. You can tell it's homemade cooking, unlike your average greasy shawarma. Presentation was on point, and the staff was friendly. Venue was clean and comfortable. Only downside is the higher price point. You'll pay and extra few dollars for each item than you normally would, but that's the tradeoff for quality taste and presentation.

I've been coming here since I was in highschool (I'm 27 now)!! The ladies here are so sweet and genuine. A wonderful family - run business. Great food, great service. I only wish I had more pictures (and ones that aren't take out) ... we always end up eating it straight away! The meals are always presented picture perfect and well portioned. Beautifully decorated with a warm and comfortable "homey" feel... with BEAUTIFUL hanging antique lanterns! There aren't too many Mediterranean or middle eastern places that give you an option between halal or not - these guys do. Very grateful to be able to choose. Some of the best falafels I've had. Thanks so much for the tasty food you've provided with love and passion to us over time Adonis!!

The food was delicious, authentic (the potatoes reminded me of my grandmother's), and portions were generous. It's the best Middle Eastern I've had in Oakville. The owner told me that this restaurant is a labour of love that she, her mother and her daughter all work together in, sharing the recipes they grew up with that are a mix of family recipes from Lebanon, Armenia and Greece. As an additional note, they have lots of gluten-free and vegan options. Two of us are celiac and I am happy to report that they took this seriously, prepared our food on a separate surface, and understood enough about our needs that I didn't have to explain what we needed. So happy we found this place.

This is a hidden Gem that is off the beaten path, and is quite honestly one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have ever eaten in. It is a small restaurant with seating for approximately 50-60 people, is clean, and has a very homey atmosphere. First view from the outside is quite ordinary, but don’t let that fool you. Once inside the first thing you notice is the wall of recognition at the entrance which is loaded with awards from different well-known organizations (Readers Choice, Trip Advidsor, and Google) and many beautiful and colourful lamps giving the restaurant a nice glow. The restaurant is family owned and it is quite obvious that there is a high level of pride in their family recipes. The menu includes various meat dishes like beef, chicken, lamb and pork as well as vegan and vegetarian options. The baba ghanouj and taboule are a must try (the best I have ever had). The service is excellent, and always carried out with courtesy and a smile. As with most good restaurants be prepared for a long wait during peak hours, so if it is busy, ordering appetizers will help you pass the time. It is an amazing value for your money, you will not regret it! From various visits it is obvious there are many regular/repeat customers. The restaurant also has take-out and catering. I am quite sure that it will be a favorite for anyone liking Mediterranean cuisine.

Family owned, Adonis is a good place for fresh cooked home food. Not in the best location for tourists however great for local residents. I'm vegan and new to the neighbourhood. Found myself coming back to this veg-friendly restaurant almost weekly for their cabbage rolls, stuffed red pepers & falafels. The food quality is amazing. I love the feel of a small restaurant. This is 1 of my top 3 fav restaurants in all of Ontario so far (the other 2 are vegan restaurants). Haven't tried everything vegan there yet since I keep craving for those 3 items!! Staff is very friendly too.

I can't believe I am writing this review after years of fabulous meals from Adonis. I just ordered my usual Greek Salad with Shawarma and it was absolutely terrible. What is normally a 10/10 was a 1/10. It was tasteless, the romaine lettuce was tough like leather and cut differently. The salad had 2 olives where there would normally be about 5. A totally different experience. What made it worse was I called to let them know that it was not their usual quality and they were extremely defensive and offended that I had the audacity to complain about their product. The person I spoke to was aware that the romaine was inferior. She said this is the lettuce we have been getting for the past two weeks, from Quebec, "I don't grow the lettuce, what do you want me to do"?, was her response. What I suggest you do is find a new romaine supplier - go to the grocery store if you need to but don't serve me an inferior product! This place has been in business for decades, what has changed? I hope this is not a case of the next generation taking over the business and cutting corners. Needless to say, I am hugely disappointed as this was our go to for Greek in Oakville. I won't be back - too risky on the quality front and the attitude when I called was totally unprofessional.

Went to Adonis for the first time because my fiancée’s colleague from HS helps run that restaurant as it is family owned. By far, THE best tasting Mediterranean food. I had the chicken on the rocks and I’ve had it everywhere else but the chicken was nicely cooked, it remained juicy. Some thinner pieces were cooked well which in turn made them a little crispy which I really liked. The rice was nice and light; no weird after taste which many places do have that and it throws off the taste. Their garlic sauce is nice, light and creamy. All of it mixed together was amazing BUT...that hot sauce is the best tasting hot sauce I’ve had. That was literally the icing on the cake. It drew out all the flavours and added more. We are definitely coming back for more and if you love a nice relaxed meal, great quality Mediterranean food, this is the place. Was told it was all grandma’s family recipes so if that also doesn’t draw you in, then you’re missing out.

Lets see, look up hidden gem in the dictionary, yup there it is...Adonis! Do people use dictionaries still? Some crazy little strip-mall from a bygone era has some very of the best Mediterranean food this guy has ever had! My wife and friends have been going here for years, and now I know why. The Adonis shawarma with pineapple, which I thought was a bit weird at first was incredible! Wow! And the portion sizes are huge. Prices are at the point where I feel a bit guilty. There is a house for sale across the road, and I am seriously contemplating buying it! I will be going back for sure. If you are in the area, heck even if your not in the area, try Adonis out!

Rating 2.5 for takeout Chicken Souvlaki....mediocre food, similar to what you would get at a greek fast food place at a mall. Small portion for price (to be fair, it looked like people who dined in got much larger portions). Based on other reviews, I was really excited to try this place, but won't be going back.

In reality this place is a 4.5, not a 4 - but I cant rate it as such due to the limitation and I don't hand out 5s all the time. If you're looking for quality Arabic/Lebanese/Armenian food on the west end then look no further. The staff are pleasant and it is a family run operation. The classic Chicken Shawarma and the Adonis Shawarma are not to be missed. The hummus dish is not big and it could be more plentiful.

We've been going to the Oakville Adonis for years and always rated the food as 5 stars. We went again last night, with a guest. Two of our party had the Chicken Shwarma in a pita and I had my usual Falafel in a pita. I was very happy with my Falafel, but the two who had the Chicken Shwarma were disappointed. We had not been to the Adonis for about a year and it seems that in that year, the Chicken Shwarma has definitely gone down hill. We are now hesitant to go back.

Very good food. Really like the shawarma’s and the hummus is really freshly prepared. Good sized portions. Good seasoning and presentation even in takeout containers. My only recommendation is they accommodate adjustments easier. It’s a tough time for everyone now, restaurants included, so don’t sigh on the phone and act stressed out when your customer wants to ask for hot sauce on the side, no onions, or to swap out a baba ganoush side for a hummus size. Be flexible and don’t make it a big deal when a customer asks for a few little substitutions on a $100 takeout order :). (Seen this a few times).

Nice little place hidden in a strip mall. Food was ok, servers were very friendly. Food portions were decent. A little pricey for mediocre Greek food. Chicken was not very flavour full, salad dressing was a raspberry vinaigrette (not want you expect at a Greek restaurant). The salad looked like it came out of a bag like you would get at the grocery store. The chocolate cake was amazing my kids liked it. I probably won’t go back mostly because of the distance from where I live.

What a cozy place for a quiet evening out. This is the second time we have been to this quaint restaurant and they aim to please. Serving home cooking from the Mediterranean part of the world home made and scrumptious. The friendly staff aim to please and they treat their customers like family. We had the Mediterranean pizza with Kalamata olives and feta cheese. It also tastes great with strips of souvlaki which they were gratious enough to add. To top off the meal the Baklava Sundae Crumble which I would highly recommend! Nestled in a quiet subdivision with the option to sit outside like a European bistro during the summer .

I have been coming to Adonis for the past 5 years with my family and I am absolutely shocked by Andrew Wilson's nasty review. We have had nothing but great experiences with the food, and service. The greek salad with shawarma is my husband's usual order as well, and it's always a great meal. In fact we picked up that same meal from them yesterday and it was amazing, as usual. We had absolutely no issues with the texture of the lettuce, or flavours of the chicken. This person must have had a horrible day to have left an awful review like that to an amazing bunch of owners. However, the restaurant always appears to be flooding with customers when we visit, so I'm sure they will do just fine without his business. Nothing but love for Adonis from us!
