I absolutely love Bon Sushi and their food is always so good, fresh, and very affordable! The only con is their new take-out service that seems very poorly organized and you end up waiting an extra hour outside for your order and people cut in front of you - the whole thing is kind of a mess. However, it’s worth it for the food.

Excellent sushi and service. Usually a busy spot so you're sometimes on hold (online ordering would be great!). The rolls, nigiri and sashimi is fresh and well flavoured. Coming from Vancouver where excellent sushi was always around the corner I was very happy to find Bon Sushi. The portion sizes are great, and I've enjoyed everything I've ordered. Service is super friendly, and once its open to eat inside I'd love to go check it out some more!

OK food, and although it was busy, even allowing for that the service was terrible. We only saw our server twice, once to take the order, once to bring the food. We had to chase her down to get the bill, and we couldn't get her attention for anything else we wanted.

It's good, but not the best in town. Easy parking. Nice location. Nice interior and friendly staff. But the sushi can be hit and miss. The fish is fresh and the variety is good. Pricing is reasonable. With sushi you don't want cheap, you want fairly priced but very fresh seafood. The rice is a hit and miss and that can really affect the sushi. As well, the rolls can be a bit too much content and fall apart. I've been a few times and would go back, but it's not a go to place for really good, consistent, sushi in Victoria. Sen Sushi on Fort is likely, in my opinion, the best in town.

Really good Japanese food, and EXCELLENT service! Ordered take-out, but one item was not packed. Went back to the restaurant and they were very apologetic about forgetting to pick it up. I didn't ask for anything, and they just put in a couple of Snapple iced teas in the bag. Now to the food. We ordered a bento box, which came with chicken/rice, salad, tempura, gioza, California rolls, and miso soup. Every item was delicious! My kids ordered plain udon...both liked it. I believe the soup base miso soup. Wife ordered tempura and potato, and California rolls. Tempura was fresh, and rolls were very good. Definitely would go back here the next time we're in town!

I LOVE this place, it's the best sushi I've found in Victoria. Try the baked salmon roll and the agedashi tofu, they are amazing! The staff is always very friendly. I suggest going when it's 3pm-ish for the best service as they are usually filled up during noon or dinner time. I eat there almost every week after I ship out my orders from the post office. They do more westernized sushi of course. I think the shop is Korean owned, they are always very kind and hard working.

Bon Sushi is the best place to go for sushi on the island. The sushi is fresh, delicious, and comes out quickly. The prices are so unbelievably well priced for the quality of food you are getting. You can also get a draught pint of Sapporo for $5! I didn't enjoy sushi until my partner took me here when I moved to Victoria. The customer service is incredible, the restaurant space itself has recently been renovated, and I'm made to feel like a valued-customer every time we visit (which is usually at least once a month).

Times have changed. We DID love this restaurant but the food has sharply declined & the prices have gone up. We thought it was just a bad night but after 4 visits the food has most definitely declined. Especially the rolls. WHAT HAPPENED?- - Previous review--The food here is very consistently good. The prices are very good. The service is very good. Everything we have had on the menu has been very good and seemed to be more scratch made than almost all Japanese restaurants. Things like sauces etc seem to be house made. NO allergies or food hang overs here. Awesome place!

Japanese hidden gem. I’m a big fan of Fujiya, but I am not currently working in the neighborhood so I stumbled upon Bon Sushi and I am thrilled. I have had lunch twice now and I find it truly delicious. It’s pick up only, there is a bench to sit on outside, the staff is super friendly, service is fast, items are yummy!

Quality consistant, great food. Very friendly staff. Have transitioned to using the least amount of plastics possible for take-out orders. Interior is a kinda small so it can be a bit busy/loud when they are busy, so get take-out if that's an issue for you. Recently they redesigned the interior adding bench seats along the wall and the place looks great! Highly reccomend have been eating there for years.

Bon Sushi is seriously amazing. The fish they use is top quality, everything is always fresh, and everyone that works there is so friendly. The consistency of the food they put out is great every time, and I have never been disappointed by a single item. Also their agedashi tofu is the best I've ever had. They even make sure to put air holes in the takeout box & put the sauce on the side so it doesn't get soggy on the drive home. Great attention to detail. If you haven't eaten at Bon Sushi, do so immediately. There's a lineup of people waiting for a reason!

Covid-19 adjustments: Take-out only! Still delicious! Lunchtime bento cannot be beat, quality-wise and price-wise. Note that the take-out containers are number 5 recyclable, though the miso soup container is Styrofoam. Still, the main container being recyclable is a welcome touch to avoid more Styrofoam ???? The menu has most items anyone could be interested in, along with vegetarian options. Definitely will return again for take-out again.

Tried imperial and BC rolls. In a sushi place, you expect the rolls to be made with raw fish. However, imperial roll had cooked fish, and BC had half-cooked. Definitely not an authentic experience. Prices are ok, and the staff were ok too. And btw, how hard is it to cut the roll in even lengths ?!?? Not a pleasant experience.

Surprised by the bad food. Second time at this popular restaurant. First time loved the fresh, and delicious avocado salmon rolls. This time, we had a teriyaki chicken bento box and a selection of basic sushi rolls. Both were really dry and odd tasting. Bento box was barely edible and the cucumber roll was dry, flavourless and definitely not fresh tasting. The fish were equally underwhelming. Sadly, I'm not sure that we'll be back, since a combo from a grocery store would have been a more enjoyable choice. Hopefully for others, it was just an off-day for the chef, but for us it was a meal ruined. I wish I knew that's all it was, so we can get the courage to return for another chance of a good dinner.

This is the best sushi in town. Every time I have sushi elsewhere, I always find myself comparing it to Oak Bay Bon Sushi. They offer a very large variety of sashimi, rolls etc... All that with the best price in town. I go there regularly and have never been disappointed of the tastiness of their product. If you are visiting Victoria, stop here for a nice fusion experience.

This is a fantastic sushi restaurant we have ordered from here a number of times and always have good results. The restaurant itself is pretty small so if you plan on sitting down for dinner, go early! We usually just order this to go, it is extremely well priced and very delicious. I can't recommend oak Bay Bon Sushi enough.

Really sad that the business only has one phone number and no online orders. I couldn't get through after 46 attempts so have now found a better choice. Matsuki-An answers their phones, has great customer service and their sushi is absolutely fantastic, which is better than Bon Sushi

We went there on Sunday evening. The place was quite busy with both take-outs and dine-in patrons. Were seated immediately and then the waitress literally forgot about us... We waited for 20 minutes while she took other clients in and brought out water, chop sticks etc. Finally we had to flag her down and only then, she bought out the water. Our food was again behind others who came way after us. The house manager ended up bringing out most of our food. The sushi is very good and reasonably priced. Had it not been for the poor service, I would have rated them higher.

Always love to come to this comfortable little spot. Rice is always perfect in the rolls and they have a wide variety to choose from as well as many hot dishes. The staff is always friendly and your food comes quickly. Been going to this place for years and little has changed which in this case is a great thing. Great lunch spot alone with my love or with a friend. Always recommend this hidden gem in Oak bay

What a great place, went there for my younger brothers birthday at his request. Bon Sushi has such a great atmosphere, awesome staff and the sushi was delicious specially the monkey brain and the sashimi was fresh. It is also very well priced, I would recommend this place to everyone. On a last note they have a great selection of vegetarian sushi and dishes too.

We are very disappointed with the poor service. When we first came in and tried to sit at a table, we were told not to sit there and we were assigned a table right by the door. They gave us menus, but they completely ignored us after that. One person arrived after us and got service and food while we were being ignored. So we left.
