Holy smokes. Legitimately some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Everything was unbelievably fresh, from the fish to the homemade pickled ginger. Tried a few different things but the Salmon Sashimi and Tuna Tataki stood out. And in addition to all this lovely food, there is great customer service from the owners. I will definitely be back!

The tempura was absolutely delicious, and they have some unique large rolls. However the roll I order was so drenched in spicy sauce that it was all I could taste. Prices are relatively normal and the quality wasn't terrible.

Kissako is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Victoria. The atmosphere is really cozy and it is very much a mom and pop shop. We mostly get their rolls so this review is focused on those. The rolls demonstrate an intense level of creativity and thought on the chef's part - the "awesome" roll is true to its name. The quality and freshness is consistently high, so it is a reliable go-to when I get a craving for sushi.

Delicious sushi!!! Best price in Victoria for great sushi. I'm a teenager and I filled up on sushi for under 15$! I would recommend the rainbow roll. Also it has really fresh vegetables and ginger and the fish was great. On the rainbow roll it has tuna sockey salmon and coho salmon. The inside is an avacado California roll. My new favorite sushi restaurant on the south island!

I've tried all of the "top rated" sushi restaurants in Victoria, but I believe Kissako trumps all. I am very particular when it comes to sushi, therefore it's been a struggle to find a place I can really stand behind. Kissako offers variety of traditional and modern sushi at a very reasonable price. The portions are substantial and the ingredients are fresh and flavourful. There's a great variety on the menu - it's hard choosing what to order. The staff is wonderful, as well. A+ sushi restaurant in Victoria, which is a rarity!

In short: BRILLIANT! Victoria's newest best kept secret. Go while you don't have to line-up to get in once this place is discovered. They JUST opened. We've had sushi made by masters all over the world and Kissako is right up there with the best. Can't say enough about the quality and the prices are SO reasonable. Run by a lovely couple whose hospitality and grace are extraordinary, we are blessed to have them on the island. Highlights: Aburi (lightly seared) Toro & Salmon, Nigiri anything! (don't expect a small portion!), the Awesome Roll is AWESOME, Miso, Edamame... can't wait to try the rest of their extensive menu. Thank you, Kissako!

Awesome sushi right in my backyard! The rice from this place is top notch and the standards are solid. I don’t usually go for the fancy, Americanized rolls, but their Semo Semo was awesome and I’ll definitely be having it again. Thanks for the tasty dinner!

Really good sushi restaurant in Oak Bay! We ordered rolls and these were phenomenal, with a wonderful taste and notably high quality. Service was super nice. My only concern was the chicken teriyaki, which we felt it wasn't enough food (both rice and chicken). Still it was really delicious.

And the value is actually really good. The rolls are about the same cost as other sushi restaurants but they are a fair amount bigger than elsewhere.

Went to try sushi at Kissako today, it was good however we asked for low-sodium soy and I’m fairly certain that it was still the regular soy in a low-sodium bottle. Besides that, the food is truly amazing and the quality is excellent. Sashimi slices are on point! The value is worth it. Service could be a little better; we felt a little rushed out just because we finished our meal. Perhaps another server is needed instead of one person taking orders, serving and processing payments.

It isn't often if even consider giving a restaurant 5 stars. I've been here a few times and the food here is consistently fresh, and delicious. The service is always exceptional and friendly. I recommend the seaweed salad, tuna tataki salad, the spicy tuna/avocado roll (which isn't on the menu). Enjoy!

Stopped by for lunch and found this to be the best Sushi spots I have been to in town. The couple running this small establishment were very friendly and attentive. Lunch was super fresh, generous and plated beautifully. The added bonus - uber reasonable - < $22 including taxes and tip!

There is some intangible quality to the food at Kissako that sets it above other sushi restaurants. Everything is made thoughtfully and with great care. Even the miso soup is exceptional! In my opinion this is one of the best and most under-rated sushi spots in Victoria. The staff is lovely too.

Quaint little restaurant. Excellent sushi. Great, friendly service by owners. The seafood salad has been consistently superb over several visits. The sashimi is always fresh and high quality. The regular and special rolls are great, with the right balance of rice, sauce and main ingredients. The presentation of the dishes is classy and this also sets this restaurant apart. A gem in the heart of the Oak Bay Village.

More of a 3.5 star review. If you order more simple sushi rather than the special rolls (over drenched with sauce and relatively expensive), then it is quite good. Spicy salmon cones were very good. There wasn't enough avocado (or it was too small pieces) for me.

This is such a tiny amazing gem of a place. The people operating it are the nicest people you will ever meet and the food is just unbelievably awesome. We have been coming here for a while now at least once a week and just can't stress enough how much we have grown to love this place and the people who run it!

This is a lovely little restaurant. The Seafood Salad is incredible with several different varieties and very generous portions and such good value. I have never been disappointed here and have tried many different items. Every person I have taken here has found it excellent and they said they would be back. It was surprising to see a bad review from P.N. especially him saying they have falsified their reviews so I don't know if it was just a bad day for someone but I do know I am giving a genuine review and I eat here almost every week. Very nice hard working young couple are very friendly and I always enjoy it and I see many repeat customers when I am there.
