I loved this place! The owner is funny and friendly, they have some quintessentially Yellowknife items on the menu but also just generally good food. There's pool tables and some folks it even pulled out a chessboard and we're enjoying a mini chess tournament when we were there. In the earlier part of the evening this is the kid friendly kind of environment, but later on it becomes a very comfortable place to just kick back and enjoy a beer.

A really neat place. Obviously a bar, in the evening it is used as a family dinner restaurant. In addition to really good food, there are some bar games the kids can play we hold the 'grownups' chat before) after eating. The owner checked on us a couple of times, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the local area but was not intrusive or pushy. I would cheerfully go back and try other items on the menu

The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the prices comparable with the other restaurants in town. However, there are deals almost daily, so I like dining there or ordering for pick up as often as I can. Finally, the restaurant doesn't get too busy until 6.30-7 pm, so you get your order served quickly and you enjoy a quiet meal. I would definitely recommend it!

The host and waitress were very personable, joking and making small talk. The Thursday prime ribs, Yorkshire pudding and veggies were super tasty and a great deal for the price. The potatoes were especially tasty. The fish and chips were not great, but decent enough. We had to wait quite a bit to get our food. Loved the Coyote's Irish Coffee. We'll definitely go there again soon.

Great service and a great menu -- longer than any other restaurant in Yellowknife so everyone is bound to find something they'll want to eat (especially if you like poutine). Pool tables and lots of boardgames for customers to use. We watched an NFL and an MLS game while we were there. Bonus -- this place is open when most of the others are closed (Sunday between 2 and 5)!

The local whitefish and chips is well made and great with a beer or two. This is cold country food that tastes great, fills one up nicely to prep for another winter day outdoor. The restaurant looks like it's on top of a defunct club. The front door leads to a funky staircase, but keep going until you get to the top floor. You will not be sorry with the food and drinks and the cosy restaurant.

The experience today I had with the manager and server had me truly disappointed. I've worked many years in this industry and though it started off great, it ended with my coworker feeling uncomfortable and mistreated by their service. There's a reason why we as servers ask "is everything to your liking" ....if they end up saying "no" then the next course of action is offer something else or ask how they can make it better... And not comment rudely on the incompetence of the client for not knowing how an item in the menu should taste ....twice! (once by the manager and once by the server)....my coworker is new to Yellowknife, and new to the types of foods we serve here.... The issue definitely could of been handled differently, and would of gained insurance for the clients return...but in this case due to the feeling it left me and my friend who felt hurt to be honest for telling her truth and bad about it, unfortunately I will not return here. I truly believe that customer service definitely should come first.

I had the recommended buffalo steak. It was hard like Aussie beef, but it tasted good without smell. In addition, there is a machine like a Japanese photo booth inside the store (it looks completely different), and when it looked so unusual, a clerk came to me. When I entered the email adler after shooting, the photograph I took was sent to me. However, there was an 18% mendatory tipping on the bill, which I was confused and asked about it, and they replied yes. Not sure if this only happens to tourists? Disappointed with our meal here after reading such great reviews... I had fish & chips, and it seemed like fish that could have come from a frozen box. The lettuce/coleslaw looked and tasty old. I was offered gravy, not knowing it would be an extra $2 and then we were also charged $1.50 for a small serving of mayo. Overall not impressed.
