This is a very intimate place and food was good.

To avoid sounding repetitive, I found Padella best suited for people who enjoy under seasoned dishes, which allows an ingredient’s natural flavours to shine, but was too plain for me. Some restaurants add a lot of toppings to their beef carpaccio ($16), the only garnishes at Padella were well-drained capers and shaved parmigiano; even the greens were left undressed. Indeed, we could taste the beef, it just doesn’t taste like much without seasoning. Similarly, the pan seared octopus ($16) and cannellini bean salad barely had a lick of salt so the flavours were derived from the herbed olive oil. I just couldn’t get used to the octopus’ texture, which was too soft. Sure, you may be thinking tender octopus is a good thing. Yet, when the seafood flavours disappear and the springy texture almost becomes mushy, it no longer tastes like octopus. The clams to linguine ratio in the vongole ($19) was impressive: equal amounts of seafood to pasta. Moreover, both ingredients were prepared to perfection – the clams just cooked through but still juicy and the pasta retaining that lovely chewiness. If only the sauce wasn’t so acidic – it’s like the chef forgot he added lemon and did a second squeeze, then the person at the pass added a third helping – rendering everything so sour that even the garlic and white wine were masked. This could have been an amazing dish with a quarter of the lemon and double the salt.

We came at busy time because we were at a funeral visitation in the area. We had to wait as it was full but sat in lovely front window and had glass of wine. Delicious food, attentive staff, nice wine, lovely atmosphere, decently priced. Would go again if in area for sure. Nice find! Thanks Google!

This is such a fantastic little place!! Erez and Giovanni had the place open for just 3 weeks when they allowed to have our Friend's Night event there. All of us, more than 45 people, loved it: The food was delicious, the decor and ambiance was intimate and sexy, and the service was top notch. Since then I've had dinner there with friends and family, and they've not disappointed. The lamb and octopus are like butter, so tender. The Putanesca with homemade spaghetti is incredible. I recently had the grouper with some kind of anchove paste on it, wow!! The chef, Michael really knows his stuff, he is genius at what he does, and so humble too. Erez and Giovanni make us feel like we are walking into their dining room, they are so personable and genuine. These guys belong in the restaurant business and they belong on Avenue road. It's been a long time coming, this street needed it. Welcome home Padella and thanks for the great experience. ando

Last night was my 2nd time at Padella. First off let me state this...my 1st time i was absolutely blown away by the attentive service, food knowledge and amazing attention to PERSONAL detail. We OVER ordered the first time and devoured EVERYTHING!!! We didnt realize it closed at 10pm yet the owners said "relax, don't worry" and kept us there till after 11pm with conversation, coffee & great vibes. Last night we went back because of our first experience. We were greeted at the door with "Amazing to see you again!!" With the Owners promptly jumping up to greet us at the table!!!! The Squid ink linguini w/lobster & shrimp & lamb was to DIE FOR AGAIN!!!!!!!! THERE SHOULD BE A 10 STAR RATING FOR PADELLA!!!!!!!!

Great find on a busy street. Authentic Italian with an affordable wine list and excellent variety of specials. A dinner for 6 with predinner drinks, sides, mains, two bottles of wine, coffee and dessert came in for under 100 per person.

I attended a tasting evening prior to opening and as usual from Erez Mizrahi, co-owner, the experience was amazing. The lamb is so tasty and literally melts in your mouth. The Fritto Misto, seafood antipasti platter, was fried with a cucumber dip and was non-greasy, tender and almost like a panko crust but lighter. Yummy. And most important, great service - 5 Stars and highly recommend! Btw, the pizze selection is epic...

Padella is outstanding in its food, service, ambiance & friendliness but the most important compliment I can give is the incredible attention to detail of Erez & Giovanni, the owners. They are always there. Their dedication to this restaurant's success is admirable. For me, I have found 'HOME'. I have a fatal food allergy. I bring my allergy list. They make me safe & delicious meals - I love to eat there.. I love the safety I feel. I have different choices each time I'm there & they make sure I can eat every ingredient. If you have an allergy, you can feel confident eating at Padella - they'll take special care of you.

Perhaps this was once a good eatery based on other reviews we saw here but I'm afraid we did not have the same experience. Paid a lot of money for old stale seafood pasta and a mac and cheese that didn't have macaroni or cheese. In fact we paid $12 extra for chicken on the Mac and Cheese and got something that resembled costco frozen grilled chicken. Owner was nice enough to cover our next meal if we ever chose to come back there.

This place was busy on a Saturday night but well worth the wait! Service was phenomenal, with the server and owner checking in regularly to see how we were finding the meal. The menu had great selection. I shared a Caesar salad and Caprese salad (both delicious), and had the carbonara, which left nothing to be desired. My two friends had the gnocchi and were rendered speechless! We ended the meal with coffee and the owner brought us homemade biscotti on the house when we declined dessert (since, much to my dismay, I had no room. I'm sure it would have been amazing here, too, so next time I will keep the end in mind)! Thanks, Padella. We'll be back.

I came here for an anniversary dinner date and was not disappointed at all. The owner is extremely kind, warm, welcoming and funny. He greats his customers and engages with them, it's very refreshing! The servers were also so amazing. So much knowledge on the specials, menus and wines. We ordered a meat and cheese plate which was very delicious. It came with Olives as well. Prior to receiving the appetizer we were given some bread and pickled beans. Both, so yummy! I'll attach photos of the pastas we ordered for mains, both were extremely delicious. So much flavour for pasta. It's also nice to mention our water glasses were never empty. As soon as we would finish one of the servers would come and refill it. Such a small thing to do but also so lovely. I'm so used to waiting over 30 minutes to get a waiters attention for a refill in my water from so many other restaurants. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The amazing customer service and great food really allowed me and my partner to enjoy our anniversary date. I should mention they have an outdoor patio but it's small. You should try to book a reservation if you can to ensure you can get a spot. I'll be back to try some more things soon.

I would highly recommend this place. The food was excellent, authentic and delicious. It came with generous, but not ridiculous portions. Staff was extremely friendly, attentive and warm. They offer gluten free pasta which was helpful as my partner has issues with gluten. I'll definitely be returning here.

Discovered this gem by accident where I met couple of friends there for dinner. We were 4 people and ordered 7 different things. Not one of us had a complaint about the food. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I gotta say I had an authentic Italian style meatballs. Sauce was amazing and pasta was cooked properly. Staff were super friendly and the service was great. My friends who drove all the way from Cambridge said they are definitely coming back to this place to try it again.

Small Italian eatery on Avenue Road serving pasta, pizza, meat and fish. The place was busy so if you have a large party you might want to come early to get a table but reservations may be available. Although friendly, service was on the slow side but when the food came it was delicious. Can't go wrong with the Margarita Pizza. It was cooked to perfection with a thin and crispy crust very similar to what you would see in Italy. Definitely yummy! Also recommend trying the Rack of Lamb which was also delicious. Definitely worth the trip.

Warm, cozy atmosphere with great food and service! You can tell the quality of ingredients are triple A. We had the featured fish (Striped bass) and NY steak as well as a mushroom salad shared, which they split for us in the kitchen on two plates without us asking. They changed our cutlery between courses as well as took our coats after a warm welcome. They are busy with a great buzz in the room. Will be back for sure.

Amazing cozy spot off Avenue Road. The first time we came here we stumbled in while we had another appointment and needed time to kill, so what was supposed to be a random snack and glass of wine turned onto a delicious meal. This time, we were driving to dinner elsewhere but suddenly had a craving for Italian so we thought we'd give it a shot, despite how small it is. When I called, they happened to have a 2 person table turning over in 30 seconds - what luck! Everything was so attentive from start to finish. It feels like you are in someone's living room, being served amazing food and drink. We had the beets and burrata app which was a special, and it was so good. Tasted even better with the warm focaccia that comes as the bread basket. My main was the lamb ragu rigatoni and it had such big chunks of tender lamb, I couldn't help eating the whole bowl despite being completely stuffed at the end. My fiance had the fettucine ragu which looked similar to mine, and he loved his as well. We also had a really good bottle of Cab Sauv with our meal that went perfectly with our rich pastas. I am SO glad we came back here for dinner, and am continually impressed with the top notch service and food. Will definitely be back.

Pizza is not that you can see in the picture that some customer posted below. I was caught on this “add” and, as a result, paid for my mistake. In reality, It was the most disgusting pizza that I has tried in my life, and now I do not know how to forget this experience. It even smells awful. I cannot say about other dishes, but as for pizza it is not a right place to go for.

A group of 3 of us ate here last Monday night. We chose this restaurant based on proximity to our location and all of the great reviews - they were not wrong. The service was very friendly, welcoming and attentive and we all really loved the food. We had a shrimp appetizer as well as the bufala caprese to start. Our mains were spaghetti carbonara, fresh ricotta gnocchi and baked mac and cheese. We shared a bottle of prosecco which was very reasonably priced. I can't wait to try this place again and more of the items on the menu. A new favourite for sure.

While looking for a good italian restaurant in TO, we stumbled upon this place. The food was excellent and authentic. Had the linguine di mare. The scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was very nice. Also, the bread (focaccia) they serve can made into a business of its own. The atmosphere is quaint and very elegant. The owner (and his brother I presume) were extremely friendly and came to the table to speak with us. Would highly recommend and go back in a heartbeat.

I love this place. It’s a hidden gem. Warm and quaint and every platter is a piece of art and so delicious. We had appetizers and main course and their him desserts. Their recipes are centuries old. Authentic italian recipes handed down from generation to generatio, delicious and just lovely in every way. We had the seafood fish soup, the seafood linguini, the carbonara, the fried calamari the grilled octopus it was all amazing. An intimate Italian restaurant with a warm, cozy ambience! Suitable for both a family outing and a romantic date. The food was incredible at Padella! My husband and I ordered the margherita pizza, saffron risotto, and fettuccine ragu, and they were all delicious! The saffron risotto was hands-down the best risotto I’ve ever had. The pizza had a great thin crust and a sweet and flavourful tomato sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly, as was the shrimp in the risotto. The service was excellent and very attentive. We left the restaurant already planning for the next time we would come visit. Stellar experience overall!

Had a really great experience here. Italian restaurants I'm always reluctant about because much Italian fare can be made at home with a little planning and practice. But with the intimate space and convenient location were impossible to pass up. My GF and I both enjoy seafood pastas, with mine being a special and hers being a regular menu item, linguine de mare. We also got a charcuterie board which was delicious. The wine selection was good as well. The owner was friendly and had a great sense of humour, and our server was extremely thorough and friendly. Really enjoyed it, and will surely be back to try additional items. Highly recommended.

Wow amazing authentic Italian food! I was blown away best lamb chops I ever had and I have had a lot. Also great dessert and appetizers. Amazing service owners and waiters were great with recommendations and checking on us often beautiful decor. Best Italian I been to in GTA and that's saying something I been to a lot. Pasta is wonderful also fettucini bolognese is on point tried some of my friends on that one

Went for the first time today (valentines day) and I must say I am impressed. From the minute you walk in, you are welcomed by friendly staff. Had the pleasure of trying the baby kale salad, radicchio e finocchio salad, a stuffed pepper special, bosco pizza and their mac and cheese. All of it was beyond delicious and we were extremely satisfied. We already look forward to returning in the future.

Staff are great, but the food is disappointing. With all the great reviews here I expected something special. The risotto is bland and the Mac and cheese (while made from scratch) was not much better than the Kraft kind. It was only one visit...perhaps the kitchen had an off day.

First time here and I would have to say it was amazing. The owners and waiters made the place feel like home and the food was very good and tasteful. I would recommend this place a thousand times and will be coming back in the near future. I personally ate the rack of lamb, and it was one of the best rack of lambs I have had.

Celebrated my In-Laws 60th Anniversary last night. Giovanni and his staff took great care of us. From the atmosphere to the food and wine, everything was wonderful! We ordered seafood pasta as well as rack of lamb and one of the evening's specials, lobster ravioli. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff was very attentive and made us feel comfortable and did everything they could to make our dining experience wonderful. All the menu items are reasonably priced. I will definitely come again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

I had high hopes for this place given the good reviews, but left hungry and unsatisfied. We ordered a pizza and pasta and were extremely disappointed by the taste and quality of both dishes. Prices were very high given the quality of food received. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Excellent! Serving up authentic & beautifully executed northern Italian dishes. The walls are lined with the original recipes that inspired the menu that adds a unique and elegant touch. Padella has become a much needed spark to neighbourhoods surrounding avenue road and 401.

This restaurant is small and super busy on a Saturday. They do not take reservations, you might have a better chance in getting a table if you arrive before 630 for dinner, otherwise the wait could be quite long. Loved the calamari, beef caparccio and fettuccini ragu. Risotto and gnocchi was a bit too tangy for my palette. Linguine Vongole was too al dante. I have mixed feelings about the service. I will give this restaurant another try maybe during the week.
