Good place for Indian food in Vancouver, especially for lunch specials. Small place, delicious curry, and decent places. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Very delicious food! Knowledgable servers who are very skilled. The food is quick and affordable and very authentic. Will absolutely be going back
well to be honest i was skeptical at first. the place looked flimsy and poorly managed. but oh my goodness their butter chicken is out of this world! the sauce was so thick and rich and the chicken was tender it just melts in your mouth. im glad i found this place. the only downside was the heater which was too close to my seat. but other than that, perfection. ill be back for more food!
The fish coconut curry is to die for. Great value. Highly recommend
Love this place, have been going there for 4 years now
We ordered Curried Chickpeas & Potato along with Rice and Garlic Naan, the quantity was enough for 2 persons. Being an Indian I loved the taste over here (with proper amount of salt and spicy). Good environment, peaceful sitting area and good food service. The only discomfort we had was, we were feeling cold inside though they said heater was on. At the end we even ordered Tea which was enough quantity as per the price. Public washroom was available. It costed us around $29 CAD including the tax and tips. Curried Chickpeas & Potato $14 Rice $4 Garlic Naan $4 Tea/chai $3 Sadly I could not take any picture because we were super hungry :p
This is our fourth time ordering takeout tonight from Vaades using Skip the dishes. Every time the food is consistently excellent. Mind blowing flavours, and the best Indian in North Vancouver. My favourite was the pistachio lamb which was just melt in your mouth. We loved the authentic home made poppadums and garlic naan. Thank you for including a complimentary dessert with our meal! Keep up the excellent work guys and we will back again soon to order more food or come in to your restaurant.
Always great curries at Vaades, every time.
It's horrible and the food sucks...!!
I had high expectations after reading most online reviews but unfortunately I was very disappointed with the food that was delivered to me. The naan was reheated, not fresh at all, tasted like charred ashes. The korma tasted and looked like baby food - Had no flavour to it and was watered down. The food overall wasn't fresh. I ended up throwing it all into compost...
Delicious food.Decorative food.Vegi beryani????
We went out of our way to find this place on our last night in Vancouver. Lured by the gluten free menu with dairy free for my coeliac daughter with dairy intolerance. She is anxious about eating out but this seemed safe. Initially felt reassured by staff. AFTER we had eater our gf entree the waiter informed us there was a risk of cross contamination. The gf/df ordered mains arrived however we were then told that the butter chicken was not df. Checked on the prawns with another server...the original waiter came back to tell us there was a "little bit" of dairy! All said with a smile like that would help! He did take the prawn dish back to make df but by this time nobody really felt like eating. My daughter ate a small amount but was worried about it not being safe and whether shevhad already been glutened. If you have any food allergies do not trust this restaurant. And we paid full price! Very disappointed
The prawns served in a coconut were perfectly cooked and immersed in a wonderfully creamy curry. The flavor of the spinach and lamb curry bursts in your mouth with vibrant spices. Even the papadam had a nice garlic and spice flavour to them. Nice touches of decor and very friendly service make the whole experience that much better!
Very enjoyable dining experience...live 1/2 block from there and very easy for us to go there...good food and nice staff
What a find in North Vancouver: Vaades is the perfect Indian restaurant. Period. Food is cooked to order and with quality fresh ingredients, the mix of flavors and spices is stunning, and the selection is on spot for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The sauces are creamy and thick, not oily, and the naan is always baked to perfection, which is surprisingly hard to come across these days in Indian restaurants. The restaurant is family friendly and they will accommodate any needs in that respect. If you go at lunch time they have a special lunch menu that comes with a salad, rice, legumes soup and your choice of dish... Super cheap. Oh and one last thing: the chai is excellent and it goes well with any meal. Really lovely. Come by any day to eat and say hi to the super friendly neighborhood Ram, you won't be disappointed. Word!
Very friendly staff and good food.
Non sense. No sign that they are closed. Doors are open employees are having lunch and when you enter while enjoying their lunch just saying we are closed.
Totally disappointing experience… ordered some food via uber eats…they sent stale naans and paneer makhani was not even fresh… i can bet the naans were the leftovers from last night and they just reheated those for us..
Dine in
Great lunch specials
Fantastic food and service at reasonable prices
Good food, small portions, a bit pricy
Not good. Pistachio lamb did not taste like pistachios. Watery rice pudding. Woke up in the middle of the night with stomachache and nausea. Will not be eating here again.
The food is spectacular. Great vegan options! Pick up / ordering online gives 10% off.
Reasonable price and tasty food
I love this place just because the staff speaks my language and there is some comfort. But I won't be partial in rating them, as I find this place a bit expensive and overrated. The food is blanc; for an Indian without spice every food is blanc. There are not many options. Again, I'd say adding some good flavor to existing cuisine or may be asking customers for a feedback can turn good.
Awesome Service! Delicious Vegan Options :)
Their beef curry's flavor is decent, but the quality of the meat is 1/10. EXTREMELY tough. I'm not one to exaggerate either.
My GF and I are big fans of Indian food...we ordered the Jackfruit Pakora's, the Appie Sampler plate and the Fatoush salad. It was disappointing at best. The Jackfruit pakora's were quite nice, but the Fatoush salad which claimed to have "pita chips" had dorito's in it, and the dressing tasted like a bottle of honey mustard on lettuce... it was actually quite horrible... :( Lots of other amazing Indian places in the North Shore..if you advertise Pita chips ...don't use Dorito's... I mean...it was good for a laugh but not dinner.
Take out
this is a good restaurant close to my house. I wish that their palak paneer had a bit more spinach in it but otherwise very good.
I’ve only ordered the food in. Lovely, authentic Indian food. Ordered every second meal during my short visit to Vancouver. These guys know Indian food! Got a dessert complimentary too. Thank you :)
Cashew nut chicken is my fav❤️
Delicious! Excellent Indian food!
Foodgasm! Three years ago we wanted to try out, for the first time, the Vancouver Dine-out and Vaades was a hit! We've been going back ever since. We have brought so many friends there, we don't even live in North Van, we travel just to enjoy their pistachio curry! We absolutely love going to Vaades! Only thing, wish they did delivery to downtown Vancouver.
Great variety of Indian food in North Vancouver.
The best Indian food in Lonsdale!
just collected a take away, asked for super mild, it burns so bad. never again
I have ordered from vades afew times before and their food was always good and I would rate it at 3/5. The last time I ordered from them, I placed the order at 8pm and was told the delivery would arrive by 8:45. At 9:10 the food had still not arrived and by 9:40 a driver was just leaving the resturaint. I canceled the order at this point and got something else. If your too busy you shouldn’t be taking orders or inform the customer you will be late. Anyways I won’t be ordering from them again.
Wow, the food is so delicious! The seasonings and sauces are amazing. I had the pistachio curry chicken, and I haven’t even finished my lunch but I’m all ready to come back.
We decided on Indian food for our staff Christmas party Vaades came up with a great meal at a reasonable price. We all had left overs the next day for lunch. A very nice local business with good service.
Pls Visit this restaurant and you will not able to stop having their food. Superb scrumptious Indian food:)))(())
Service
Called to place an order, Guy on the phone told me I had to use there app to order food. Witch is a joke, they just seem too lazy to me.. After trying to use the app an it not expecting my credit card called back an they told me there was nothing they can do. Do not order from here! They suck
Incredibly delicious food and friendly wait staff.
Great butter chicken and very fast service. 9 out of 10
Amazing food! The best Indian food on the North Shore by far.
I have order through uber The worst service I got today I samosas was very old and smell so bad . Smell like fungus in it It is totally unexpected Now never try another food from this restaurant
Awesome place to celebrate with family and friends. Excellent!!!
My wife and I decided to order for delivery from Vaades this evening and can honestly say that not only was EVERY dish absolutely delicious, their customer service (I called in to ask for recommendations and spoke to Randeep) and delivery driver Moe were wonderful and so geared to ensuring their customers were happy! Moe the driver was 5 min early (you can book delivery time on line), super friendly and respectful of social distancing. Randeep was so incredibly nice and so detailed in her recommendations that I felt I was being treated like family. What an amazing experience and what delish food! Can’t wait to order again! We had... Tandoori chicken ???????????????????? Lamb Vindaloo ???????????????????? Butter Chicken ???????????????????? Parmesan stuffed naan ???????????????????? Spinach Ricotta Curry ???????????????????? Prawn Masala. ???????????????????? All 5 STARS... especially the super nice staff!!! Thank you
Food and service were excellent.
Butter Chicken Lunch special was great...cant wait to try the lamb next round.????
Have only gotten delivery. Get everything hor if you can handle spices and this is one of the best Indian foods you'll have. Make sure to get Lamb Rogan Josh and Methi Chicken
Exelent food.
Great place. I own a shop nearby and am always looking for new and healthy ways to have lunch - Vaades is great for that! Their lunch special is only $10 and can feed like 3 people! Definitely recommend!
My go-to Indian restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious and I will always make the commute or order from Vaades even though I live in East Van. The portions are lovely and the quality has never let me down. I highly recommend!
Great food and Really good value for money
Amazing food and service just as good!!! Awesome little place with great food, great portions and good prices!!
My wife and I eat a lot of Indian around Vancouver. We came here for butter chicken and garlic Naan. Food was excellent, restaurant was clean and provided great service. We will be coming back soon.
I ordered delivery today 70$ worth of food here. I love Indian food, my husband does too. We ordered the Palak paneer (very good), the paneer makhani (not good and had a weird floral flavor that should be in desserts not savory curry) , the veg biriyani which also had this weird floral taste I was super sad about this. Then the veg samosas were greasy and not cripsy just soggy. The naans were good no complaints there.the butter chicken was ok, not the best but at least it didn't taste floral. Overall I'm super sad and disappointed. I wouldn't order here again :(
Food - Ordered Rogan Josh lunch combo, good presentation and for 12 bucks along with a really delicious soft and succulent meat curry comes a crispy naan bread, a veggie dish of the day with rice and salad. Spice was just right, not hot but they can do it if requested. More than enough for one person, I could barely finish 3/4th of the food. Great value and no compromise on quality. Service - Was prompt, Server was always attentive and courteous. Location - Just a short walk from Lonsdale Quay Highly recommended and I would certainly go there again for my Indian food fix. Nov 19 - tried tandoori sausage, interesting, delicious and good
Amazing flavours and big portions. Only issue is they can be a little slow.
The food was good, nice variety of dishes. service was a little bit slow and less attentive than I would like. All in all it wasn't terrible.. it's not a place that I would be anxiously waiting to go back to.
Its better to go there in person and have your food. Most of the time i got food delivered, the orders were not correct. Last night they sent me beef curry when i ordered lamb. Never doing a take out from them again, however i will certainly will go there for dine in lunch multiple times.
Fast delivery and always great tasting food!
This place is awesome, great prices for quality and quantity of the food. Especially being in Vancouver.
Found hot socks in my beef, added some flavour to it. If you like sweaty socks in your bed this is where to get it! Much like
So many Vegan and Gluten Free options! I love this family owned and operated establishment ???? The quality of food is unbeatable. Tastiest Indian food on the North Shore! I suggest signing up to their newsletter to receive the weekly coupon for discounted dine in meals. They are worth it! They use REAL COCONUTS as bowls for some of the dishes! ???????? ! I like that they can make it mild, medium or spicy. The decor is not very cosy or romantic... I would suggest they add candles and beautiful Indian drapes to make it more intimate and warm. Take out and eat in!
Last week was our first time we went to this restaurant. But It is surely not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the good service, with the great cooking and fine drinks and with the decent pay. We will no doubt go back there in a short time.
Very very very good food. Forget the name of the salad (will update when I get name). It was amazing. This place is totally worth trying.
Great experience here. Staff were super helpful with menu recommendations, and encouraged us to get a little adventurous with our choices. The portobello mushroom curry was SO good. Awesome samosas with beautiful dipping sauce. Perfect place for Indian food.
excellent
Service
Great place. Loved the food here
Service
It's really good just go to it's pretty good it just is going to probably have it do it
Amazing vegan curry
Unique dishes. Amazing flavors with every mouthful. Why did I not try this place sooner! One of the best Indian restaurants in Metro Vancouver !!
I don’t usually write reviews, but hot damnnn this place is amazing. I tried the butter chicken and chicken masala, naan and rice. Everything tasted soooo good. To finish off, their rice pudding was amazing. 10/10 would go back.
Ordered their butter chicken this evening and it was delicious! Naan bread was a great companion.
Good presentation of food. Friendly staff. Good food portions.
Absolutely loved the food. The egg curry is actually to die for. Plus the mint chicken tikka was super tender and juicy and grilled to perfection. The garlic naan was so soft and flavorful that the kids could just eat that naan for dinner. Must go if you are in the area.
Lunch menu is one of the best values, if not THE best value on the North Shore. Soup, salad, curried lamb/chicken/beef/vegitarian/vegan and rice for less than $11. Parking is rarely, if ever, a problem.
Aim for the lunch special
It might not look like good at first may me due to appearance but food is food and tasty.
Great food, great prices, 5 stars service. Gluten free and vegan options.
Delicious vegetarian menu and good service. And just to mention I never was fan of Indian food.
Perfect combination of amazing service and fantastic taste. Thanks For wonderful service specially by Mayur and the chef of the restaurant great work ???????????? my personal favourite is coconut prawns curry looking forward to see you guys next week.
Meal type
Vaades is certainly more than an average indian restaurant with its special chicken curry tasting different and yet better than any other Indian chicken curry I had before. However, it is a little pricey considering the meal including a not so impressed salad and rice/bread can cost $20ish when you can have it elsewhere for as much as $10ish. Yet their lunch plan is on a huge discount with pretty much everything being slightly above $10. Recommended dishes: Chicken Curry and Butter Chicken.
Hated the restaurant. Probably one of the worst I’ve had had in lower mainland. The food has no taste and it’s so bland. People form Indian origin wouldn’t like it. Staff was very friendly though but sorry giving one rating only for the food.
Great and delicious
Nice Indian dishes relished during a short visit to Vancouver
Amazing food and friendly staff. A Londsdale gem. Love the 10% off for online orders.
I loved it the pistachio chicken is super unique never had anything like it.....can't beat the lunch special it's a great deal only 10.75$ with a ton of options - we went for lunch and back again the next day for dinner - highly recommend
vegetables samosas were delicious.
(Translated) Samosa was good. Paratha, raita and gulab jamun were ok. (Original) Samosa was good. Paratha, raita and gulab jamun were ok.
The BEST Indian food I have ever eaten! I will be back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Vaades.
Really good food. Generous portions. The restuarant itself was a little too warm for me hence the four stars.
Friendly service and great food. Food came out quick and the drink selection was good.
They are great and has good good
Ordered through Uber Eats and it was just awful. You guys should not be able to get away with serving such food. Not recommended
Went there for lunch and had a great experience. The food was tasty and the price was fair, I'll certainly be back.
Food was good. Service was slow during lunch time
Great food and delivery. Super helpful staff.
Biriyani must have!!
Great friendly staff. Best - by far Indian food in town. I highly recommend them to anyone
Food gross
My mom and I have been regulars for years. We love coming to Vaades. Mayor is the best server we know. Everything is fantastic but I just can't get enough of the coconut prawn curry. I usually don't like lamb but their lamb is cooked very well and I have really enjoyed every lamb dish they offer (we have tried them all ????) . Great food and wonderful service.
Not a bad place to eat, but, mostly inconsistent in the taste. So, it is a hot or miss.
Great place for lunch
The restaurant is not very big but tidy and clean. The food is superb if you like Indian style food, it is a little spicy though. The butter chicken and mutton is a must try.
Best Indian restaurant in North Van.
Great food, great prices.
The most delicious Indian food on the shore!
Hands down the best delivery driver ever! Such a warm and kind older man, and the food is amazing, but their service is always impeccable and timely.
Probably the least exciting indian food I've ever had. We ordered for take-out and got a few different things which tasted all the same. We also ordered a "Fattoush salad," absolutely disgusting. There was crushed Doritos on less than appetizing looking vegetables...
This restaurant is a vestige of the best you could want on a night out. Wonderful food and wonderful chefs and servers. The best dishes are the Coastal fish curry, Baughan bharta, and prawn masala.
Best of North Vancouver
Best Indian food in all of Vancouver, bar none! You MUST try it.
Excellent food & service
Very good value and service. The lunch special at $11.95 is a fantastic deal - loads of food, geeat variety!
Room for improvement but still the best option for Indian food in the area.
Super yummy. Vegan options. Friendly staff and affordable. Huge portions.
Tasty food and decent service!
Love this place. Had the chicken korma and it was delicious. The lunch menu is also great and the service is very kind.
Some of the best Indian food around the north shore. And their lunch special can't be beat in quality and price. A great restaurant overall.
Delivery
This is a little gem of a restaurant in North Vancouver. We had their lunch specials, one with lamb curry and the other with fish curry. The food was really good. Nothing fancy but food was tasty and easy on tummy.
Nice service!! Good food and price is right!! Love the mango dessert!
Great experience at Vaades. The service was incredible. Food was quite delicious. Would highly recommend!
Underrated little place with good food and a laid back, unpretentious vibe.
My favorite Indian restaurant in North Van. The flavors are authentic, the spice levels are balanced, and each dish is unique. The eggplant bharta is superb. A difficult dish to cook properly, they nail it with a smoky, garlicky flavor. Naans are soft and delicious. Highly recommend.
Horrible food. Spended $ 80 on take out food and it was terrible experience. We told the guy working on the front end Happy to make spicy food for us. The food was totally blend no salt and no spice in the food. I would highly recommend not to go there.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING A few friends and I went here because we had a groupon. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Kadai Paneer, Butter Chicken, Roti, Rice, and a Eggplant dish. All the dishes were absolutely delicious - all had their own unique flavour. This is by far my favourite Indian restaurant. Thank god for groupon or else I would never have heard of this place. My friends and I are now customers for life :D
The food was great, but the delivery service was terrible. Both times we've ordered from here the food was delivered very late (1.5+hrs on a weeknight) and the second time they delivered the wrong food. An honest mistake, but they handled it terribly. They didn't apologize or offer any compensation for the fact my food would now arrive a full two hours after ordering, and they requested the other person's food back (Kevin's apparently) so they could deliver it to him. If I were Kevin I would not want food that had been sitting in a stranger's kitchen for 20m+!!! I told them I was a little shocked by this, and they tried to guilt trip me and imply I was forcing them to make more food needlessly. I may eat-in at this restaurant or pickup food because it is tasty and pretty good value, but I don't plan to ever request delivery again because who knows where that food has been!
Food was excellent and the service was great. Would recommend to friends and family.
Food is good and quantity is great too. Good customer service Value for money
after a very long time i had good food.. Thank you Vaades for treating me and my food well. I had lamb vindalu meal.. I would only ask you guys to add onions to your salad.. Rest everything was amazing...
Awesome value for lunch. Tasty food good service.
Enjoyed our lunch, nice to have vegetarian selection.
Horrible service and the food wasn't worth it. Very bland, and the vegetables tasted like they were either old or frozen. Would not recommend.
if you order to go. I allways find that rice portion is not enough. Ratio of rice to meat makes no sense to me. But quality meat and bread is great. I suggest always cook rice seperatly before ordering the food.
Great food, awesome service. Keeps us coming back again and again.
Great people and great food
I have eaten here a few times. Just went again for the Dine Out menu and it was excellent. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the service has always been good. I will return again.
Delicious food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be coming back!!
Ordered through skip the dishes today.Great food ..wonderful value.
It is very good place if you are India food fan
Staff were friendly and professional. We asked for vegan dishes but they brought out naan with butter by mistake. They changed it before we realized. We liked that it was open late. One of the best vegan options on the North Shore.
The coconut chicken curry just melts in your mouth and the samosa's are to die for ...really good ambience and warm environment for a perfect dine in experience...surely would recommend
For the life of me - I cannot comprehend so many positive reviews ... were we all at the same resraurant? My husband and I tried Vaades for the first time for dine out, lured to try somewhere new after usually eating at both Swad and Palki. First impressions were that it was a bit of a dinghy hole in the wall but these types of places often produce the best food. Sadly this was not the case. It started with a chai tea that had a whole spoonful of dry powder sitting at the bottom of the cup. Instant chai! Who knew. No biggie-the food was going to be great. The appetizer of fried okra was stone cold with a handful of lukewarm pieces. Strange that a fried dish was cold- was it supposed to be this way? Our entrees were then plopped on the table. A scoop of rice, iceberg lettuce, a couple pieces of cold and dry naan and a bowl of dahl. Our server did not ask how spicy we would like our currys probably as they were of the one size fits all variety - overy spicy but edible. But the desserts? I love indian sweets and have an undeniable sweet tooth but the dumplings in rose water had a texture so grainy and tasteless that they were borderline unedible and the mango pudding tasted like a package of instant jello. Maybe this subpar food was exclusive to dineout but this was a 10 dollar meal and worth nowhere near the 25 price .
Great Indian restaurant, very good menu, decent prices, and good service... Highly recommended...
Good food!
By far the best Indian food on the North Shore in Vancouver. And I should know as Indian is my favourite food and I've visited all the Indian restaurants in North and West Van. Try the amazing Baingan Bharta eggplant curry and Paneer Makhani if you fancy something without meat. Amazing food and even nicer staff - Kapil is a very knowledgable and helpful restaurant owner :-)
This small, unassuming restaurant just WOWED us. They have a unique menu, with dishes I’ve never heard of or thought of! We can’t rave enough about the Pistachio cardamom curry, the portobello paneer butter masala, the lassis.... not to mention the naan! So light, and glutinous, and spread with a gorgeous golden garlic concoction. We finished our meal with Gulab jamun, which is one of my favorite Desserts. (If you haven’t tried it, do it. You won’t regret it.) Top all of this with completely reasonable prices, friendly, efficient staff, and a lovely ambiance in the restaurant.... let’s juat say I’ll be coming back.
Ate there twice on my trip down.....butter chicken was excellent but the chicken curry was a tad bland either way i would eat there again. Polite staff and mega busy with the skip the dishes orders
Will never order delivery from this restaurant again. The delivery man was horrible. I gave him a tip when I purchased my food. He returned 30 minutes later to my front door, yelling at me saying that my tip was so small it was insulting and he then proceeded to give my tip back to me saying “you obviously need this more than I do.”
This place is a fantastic little joint. They have everything from dairy free to gluten free and vegetarian options. Every dish we ordered was authentic and delicious. You can order your dish mild or spicy which is appreciated. So far the best Indian food I've had in the lower mainland.
very bad service
Very bad
This place is AMAZING. Easily the best place I've eaten in North Van. They have really awesome vegan options too. The customer service is just as good as the food - shoutout to Mayur, he's the man!
Love the food in this little gem of a restaurant. It is a tiny restaurant with a big heart. Amazing food, great service (especially from Ram). Cozy and clean. Parking is usually available. Visit here for the food and service not if you're looking for posh decor. They also have Gluten Free and Dairy Free options. Highly recommend if you like Indian food.
I did a takeout for the first time from Vaades today. Needless to say it was amazing. The Dal makhani was vibrant and super creamy with tons of flavor. The naan was soft and fresh. I got a side chickpea dish for free (I don't know if that was supposed to happen or accidentally) and that wonderfully spiced as well. Now the game changer was the desert. Just so you know I am professional chef myself, this desert of mango mousse was superb. It was not that sweet (which alot of chefs tend to do as it is a desert), the flavors had so much depth. I was so full from the dal makhani but I was still not able to stop myself from eating the desert. By far this was the top 10 desert I have ever had. I am so glad that I decided to check them out today. Compliments to the Chef.
Ordered their butter chicken lunch special on a snowy Saturday through Skip the Dishes and was really pleased with what I got. Lunch sized butter chick, basmati rice, garlic nan and a delicious veg side for 13.95 (+tax and delivery.) Will definitely be back here again though! And recommend the lunch specials whole heartedly.
The best, consistently creating amazing food for us! Love this place
Best Indian food on the North Shore! We order it regularly and it’s always delicious, and the staff is super friendly. They have amazing vegan options, love the crunchy okra & curried chickpeas with potatoes.
My favorite Indian spot in North Vancouver... Great food, good portion sizes and friendly people.
Great prices. Food is ok. Order online to get 10% discount
Good take away. Food is tasty but far from the best. Recommended for a lazy evening at home.
very nice vindaloo thali for lunch
It's an average
Waited over 30 minutes for a meal for two. Bill times horrendous hopefully the food will be good since it hasn't came yet. The rice and Nan is here but no buttered chicken...
soo gooooood! come here for lunch all the time. never disappointed.
great place for dine in and best customer service really enjoyed the food .
An unexpected delight! Delicious food. Spicy is spicy, and not wimpy. Gluten-free and vegan options.
Excellent service and food. A great variety with fair prices. Orders are always correct and prepared as promised. Friendly staff. Social distancing measures are emphasized with hand sanitizers available. Would highly recommend!
Our go to spot! Great options for non meat eaters and always consistently delicious!
Food was delicious and the wait staff was delightful
Butter chicken was one of the best I've ever had. Also excellent naan and rice to go with it. Portion huge. Highly recommended.
Excellent dishes at reasonable prices with nice portion size. Staff is very accommodating and quick with service. One of my favorites!
Absolutely incredible food!! I am celiac so the amount of gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options are amazing. Everything I've tried here has been outstanding. 10/10 would recommend!
Ordered methi chicken via skip..while the masala was okay in taste..the chicken was super dry and chewy. The first time i had ordered lamb biryani and it was the same with lamb but i thought cooking lamb is not everyones cup of tea but screwing up chicken is a disgrace..this was my last time here never again.
Summary: excellent Indian food, enhanced further by some superb dishes I have eaten in and taken out food from Vaades and have been extremely happy both ways. When eating with vegetarian friends or with my partner - who loves the pistachio lamb and always makes sure we order that as one of our dishes (without any argument from me, mind you) - there has never been disappointed taste buds or tummies. The prices are good (in the expected range for Indian dishes these days) the portions have made us happy, the selection is very nice, and the quality is great. The only stumbling point I've experienced was during Covid times, shortly after they reopened, when I went to pick up an order and they were so busy that I had to wait a bit. People were so happy to have Vaades back that they were flocking to it, and I might have been a bit early myself. So sometimes it can get busy, but a little wait is happily rewarded! My partner is on their mailing list and, while she's doesn't get overwhelmed with promotional emails, she does get some good offers from them - which helps encourage us to make the long trek to 3rd st and taste their finest over and over again. So yes, I'm a big fan of Vaades, I recommend it to people - and I really recommend the Pistachio Lamb Curry!
Had an early dinner here with my kids and the food was delicious ! The eatery is quaint & simple in decor and very clean. The service was efficient and friendly without being too much ...My sons gf is from India and knows great Northern Indian food and she loves this place. I love Indian food but have never eaten here before today ...but will again very soon I'm sure . We had Pistachio curry chicken , a baked white fish , tandoori chicken , basmati rice, garlic naan and Papadum . I always though I didnt like Tandoori chicken but after having it here...I LOVE it . The white fish was so perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice and the pistachio chicken was mouth watering ...had a sauce that was great with the rice. We all just drank water so I cant report on beverages. There was some traditional music playing in the background and it was a lovely time spent catching up with my kids who took me here for a late birthday meal . Oh and I love chandeliers...they have mini ones for lighting:) They are located in a small shopping complex with some parking . Definitely try them out , you will be glad you did !
Delicious Indian food
Very good Indian restaurant on the north dhore.Excellent service.
Food delicious. Well.done had more.than enough. Thank you for the pakora Service was special., he spoke several languages.
Really great place! I tried many Indian places in Vancouver (and a few on North Shore) and this is the one where I go the most. I love their food, staff is always very nice and their mango Lassi is to die for!
Great food. The servers were very helpful in recommending the best dinner combinations and even cared to make fresh coffee for me. Recommended.
Vaades is awesome. Delicious food, fast service (thank you Ram and Mayer!), friendly owner (you’re the best Kapel!), good serving sizes and prices, and amazing coupon deals each month. Such a N Van gem.
Really good food, the portions could be a bit bigger though.
Ordered Butter Chicken with Naan and Rice. Extremely affordable. One of the best butter chicken around. Food was really good and hot when delivered. The amount was also really good. Definitely would order again.
Great food and the people are fun! Delicious@
We love to go out. Last night we found this delicious place which friends recommended to us. We had a delightful time there with first-rate cooking and a courteous team and an impressive chief cook. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall no doubt visit again soon. We highly recommend.
I’ve been to Vaades many times and it’s always incredible. Whenever I walk within a block of the place, I smell the amazing food and am always tempted to go in.
Awesome.. the meal plan is good for 2 or even 3.. cashew curry was mouth watering..
Excellent! About half of there menu is vegan or able to be made vegan.
Good food if you are looking to eat Indian but I find less options in menu
Dang that hot butter chicken I had was EVERYTHING and more. Had enough to have a full meal twice for $10.50. I also got the garlic naan which was SO good! As a drink I got the mango lassi which was super tasty as well. Loved the cardamom. 10/10 would recommend. I’m actually ordering it again right now haha August 2021: still ordering that hot butter chicken, garlic Naan, and mango Lassi ???? #Vaades4Life
The brunch was cheap, delicious and filling!
We used a Groupon and definitely got our money's worth! Best Indian food I've had in a long time and will definitely go back ????
my fave Indian food on the north shore if not all Vancouver
If you love Indian food, you'll love this place
Horrible food.. seems like they buy Ready-To-Go food at supermarkets and just microwave before serving
Thanks for the good food!
This place has become my go-to spot for lunch with my dad. I really enjoy the friendly staff and of course the food. The lunch special is a great deal and gets you loads of great food. I always get the Vindaloo.
Suprised at how good the food is here...have been back 4 times now
I ordered an appy platter and the coconut curry for take out. The meal was really delicious, but after eating I started to feel really sick. I spent 20 minutes throwing up everything in the washroom. Homemade curry treats me fine, so I don't know what happened other than getting food poisoning. Very disappointed.
Vaades is different from any other Indian restaurant. Every dish is so unique and has different flavours! This is a BIG deal! I keep coming back because the food is good and the staff is always amazing and so very helpful. Try it and you will be hooked!
The veggie cashew curry is super bland and boring.
Delicious Indian food
Love getting takeout food here. Good prices and lots of food!
Good food as always
Lamb Curry is the best.
Great taste
Good food good service very tasty...
Great authentic food.
Not good! Used to be an amazing restaurant but I believe they changed their chef so the food isn't even good anymore!
Dinner
Food was absolutely delicious and if you are in North Vancouver I would highly recommend. The crispy okra was some of the best I have ever had (and being a southern boy I have eaten a LOT of okra). The service was a little slow and the waiters could be a bit more attentive but it was acceptable nonetheless. If we ever get back up that way we will definitely eat here again.
One of the best Indian restaurants in North Vancouver. Even has lots of Vegan and Vegitarian options. I've been here multiple times and would go back again.
The food was cold, tasteless (no spice) unlike all the other restaurants on the north shore, this one the worst. do not come here it is terrible!
Wow!!! Just WOW!!!!
Small restaurant but great Indian food. Excellent for those rainy nights. Reasonably priced.
Vaades food is authentic Indian - naans are so fluffy and good, paneer was amazing. Can add a 5th star to this review by updating the dessert menu with new or more options, although the gulab jamun was really good - well done to Mayur and his team !
The Lassi is unusually good.
Excellent offering.. great spices and sides, if you like curry go for the Hot option, Lamb saag very good and a surprising and tasty Jackfruit starter... Good value
The delivery guy, Moe, is the super friendly. I always look forward to getting to chat with him when I order. Food is always amazing as well.
Amazing food and awesome service. What more could you ask for? Gluten free, dairy free and vegan options available too. THE BEST Indian restaurant on the north shore hands down! Highly recommend! Keep up the great work guys! ????????
woooww amazing food, great staff.
(Translated) Very delicious! Butter chicken is my favorite :) Butter chicken +I recommend it! Rice doesn't come together. Normally it is moderately spicy, and if ordered spicy, it is very spicy. (Original) Very delicious! Butter chicken is my favorite :) 버터치킨 +난 강추해요! 밥은 같이 나오지 않아요. 일반맵기로하면 적당히 맵고 맵게주문하면 많이 매워요
Wow! We just had lunch here and the Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry and Lamb Vindaloo were all amazing! Wonderful service as well. Thank you!!
Last time we were there we were seated and ordered our dinner...we waited for quite a while...in fact people at 3 tables that arrived 20 to 30 minutes after our ordered was placed were eating 15 minutes before ours...we didnt order anything special...guess they lost our order but didnt have the nuts to tell us...
Good food and service
The food is so tasty, servers are friendly, and budget-friendly. Please try the mango dessert!!
Tasty, plentiful portions, quick and friendly service. If I'm ever back in the area, I will come again!
I went there for lunch it wss really great quantity and quality wise. ???? keep it up guys. You guys deserve more tips... thank you for your generous amount of food and salad too.
They charge you tip amount worth 15% of your total bill without asking and if we say to refund it, they gonna refuse. They gonna charge you 15% tip either you like or dislike the service
Tasty Indian food!
Awesome meal.
Great little place. Very good people and very accommodating. The food is very good. I have tried many Indian restaurants in the Vancouver region. This is the first restaurant that has met my expectations. Food is fresh and quality is good. The one thing I did not like was the music that was playing.
Best Butter chicken around Vancouver
Good place to order Indian food.
Great food and service
I might be biased and I really just ordered butter chicken...so you know my knowledge and exposure of Indian food isn't too deep. Still, the super delicious and inexpensive food combined with friendly and smiling servers, plenty of seat, pleasant music is enough for me to go back there again. 1 thing I did't like is the onion parmesan naan. The aroma is too overwhelming for my east Asian taste. I'm in peace with garlic naan.
One of the best restaurants I have visited … . It was my first time. Excellent customer service , great food at such price.. definitely visit again
Excellent experience eating Vaades food , very tasty and yummy shahipneer, begun bartha and Nan.
Pretty disappointed the food is bland and the rice is all broken and over cooked.
extreme. good food and Indian pickles. very tasty.
LOVE Vaades...my favorite place to eat
Good food, generous portions on lunch special! Excellent curry
I love ordering from Vaades! Their delivery driver remembers me and is very friendly every time. Awesome quality food for the price and they often include lentils or dessert on the house! Definitely recommend for a night out/in.
My favourite Indian restaurant on the north shore! Consistently good tasting good and excellent service. I eat here about twice a month sometimes three times a month and it never fails. I usually dine in but their delivery service is excellent and food always comes hot and fresh. Their fish tikka and tandoori chicken are a highlight on their menu.
Good for an outsider but not spicy enough for Indian taste
Fine curry
The food was very good, and staff very friendly. Price is similar to other Indian restaurants. Portions are great. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great food great service. Found this spot by way of google. Ran deep our server was great, her recommendation of the Cashew Chicken did not disappoint. Not fine dining but affordable quality food served by great staff.
Excellent service, friendly staff and tasty food. Keep up the great work! Thank you.
Good food...delicious...loved it!!! Keep it up guyz....thnks.
Great place, delicious food, good prices, nice music, friendly staff. Spotless
Super nice staff. Just amazing food. I dream about the coconut chicken.
Nice opinion for vegetarian
Bad food looks like they open can food and give it to customers not going back there again.
We order delivery from here almost every Friday for work. They're awesome!
Fantastic!
Good food. Good service.
Being a hospitality professional with international exposure, I am truly impressed with an exceptional service, kindness, courteous service provided by Mayur. He has gone an extra mile in food delivery and serving exceptional quality food with excellent recommendation, providing me delicious option and variety of food from Vaades menu. The food offered at Vaades is exceptional quality, hygienic and mouth watering. Its one of the best indian restaurant I have experienced. I would definitely recommend and come back again.
Vaades is really the best. Once you eat their food you never forget the delicious taste. It's also a perfect place for vegan people. This is my experience: when I try their food for the first time and come out from the restaurant I start to count a seconds to come back and order those delicious food again.
Food is great and service is awesome. Also has a really good price for kids menu that is a definite draw for families. Tons of clearly marked GF and veg options. My new go-to day-to-day Indian place on the north shore.
Good food good price
Lunch was excellent, the fish curry a highlight.
Great Indian cuisine
Best indian food i ever had, awesome typical Indian flavours... worth what we spend ????
Super friendly and great food!
Very impressed with the quality of the food! I ordered delivery (beef vindaloo, jasmine rice, and onion/parm naan) and everything was delicious. The curry had tonnes of tender beef in it, the rice was cooked perfectly, and the naan was soft and steaming hot. They also threw in a free dessert! Modestly priced for the quality and flavour. Will definitely order again.
I have been a customer to Vaades for near 5 years, I live on a Lonsdale and can say with absolute certainty that they offer the BEST Indian food on Lonsdale. With fair prices on their dishes ($10 - $20) a vast menu, that is detailed down to the core of great curry based dishes their owners / chefs have created a powerful menu full of passion and flavor. Can't go wrong with the Methi Chicken and Pakoras
Very nice people working there, very good Customer Service along with good food.
Love this place. Order online all the time. Always delicious, and there are vegetarian and vegan options available.
This place knows how to satisfy their clients. Constantly with a friendly demeanor. The food is reasonably priced, constantly delicious and neat.
Really good Indian food!
Great food
Lunch specials are a really good deal
Bland and cold food Poor customer service
Great food. Good service. Always consistent.
Thee food and the staff are amazing!
An institution of amazing Indian food luckily in the north shore!! 12/10 good
Delicious food. Very good prices for what you get. Good service. Nice staff. I recommend the butter chicken :P
Where can I start? Vaades has you from the moment you enter, with the distinct aroma of Indian spices that will whet your appetite. The coconut chicken and signature lamb dishe were C'est magnifique and with a nice, cold mango lassi on the side you'll be in gastronomic paradise. Warning: Loosen your belt before eating.
Excellent place to eat, both for dining in and take out. They certainly have the best butter chicken that I have tried in Vancouver so far. In addition, the prices are far less expensive than you would find at other restaurants of this calibre. Highly recommended.
Please do not fall victim of choosing to eat here. I read a few reviews on Google and the rating was pretty high so in a desperate last minute hungry situation we trusted the reviews and chose to eat here clearly overlooking the demographics of the majority of the reviewers. The food was bland. The tandoori chicken was a pale red color, clear indication of not enough seasonings. The butter chicken had a strong tomato flavour, again not enough seasonings and spices, just filler. The green lentil bean curry was slimy in texture, probably because it came out of a can. The naan was flat not fresh or fluffy and looked like it was the store bought kinds, just heated and served. All of this priced as if it were some top quality restaurant. Unless you want to waste money on low quality, watered down, bland Indian food, I say just skip this place and just head over to Kingsway and Knight. All the Indian restaurants on that street are far more authentic than this place will ever be. They're just taking advantage and fooling the people that live in this area.
Meal type
Solid choice for lunch.
I've tried many Indian restaurants around Vancouver and Vaades is among the best! Great quality, decent portions, and value.
This is one of my favorite places to order from! Always delishous and great value with big portions. The staff are also really nice. One time I showed up early for my take out order and they got it ready right away despite being very busy.
Exceptional food. I haven't had this cuisine on over a year and wow. What an exceptional dinner. Great staff, great food and nice atmosphere. Will be visiting again. Great Vegan options.
Only ever had takeout from here, but everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and personable. It smells amazing when you walk into vaades. 5 stars, reasonable prices, huge portions, would return for sure.
Delicious food at good price. Nice little lunch menu.
AWFUL. The Rogan Josh left water on the plate it was so weak. The chilli cauliflower was 5 florets in watery tomato soup with no spice/flavour despite asking for it hot. Oh and 4 tidbits of peppers and onions. The naan tasted store bought and microwaved. Shocked at just how bad it was, we ended up throwing it out and having the rice with something we cooked at home. Why was it so bad?!
Really good food, and really well priced. Staff is always friendly. Love the lunch menu too. Still tons of food for a really reasonable price. If you order take out online you get additional 10% off.
Such good gluten free and vegan options
Great ambience, and fantastic food! Great value to top it off!
Excellent service and food. It was very tasty and not too spicy. I had the appy combo and the portobello mushroom curry. Great ambience with lovely music and awesome service.
I love Indian food and I am always looking for an Indian restaurant serving good, spicy curries, tasty naan, and pleasant rice. In the lower Lonsdale area, Vaades is the place to go for such fare. While visiting North Vancouver, I tried this restaurant and truly enjoyed it. The food was fantastic, the portions were right and the price, very reasonable. Service was also warm and attentive. Of course, I went for a meal again and it was even better the second time. Highly recommended!
Our curry club had a meal here and really enjoyed the experience. Food was really nice, staff was really kind and the restaurant has a nice feel. Would definitely recommend if you are after a nice curry and a pleasant time.
It was ok. But the waitress was not helpful. I might visit again but not good experience
Wonderful restaurant.
Best indian food on the north shore. Period. It's not a contest. Really great gluten friendly options too!
Food was so good.. Prices were low... Only thing lacking is the wait for table. As i was standing there for a table.. None of the servers cared about me, until he found out.
Service was nonchalant but food was tasty so would recommend.
Great Indian food! This place has great customer service and delicious food. You know Tasty Indian Bistro? This place gives them a run for their money!!! Give them a try and I'm sure you'll agree.
One of my favourite Indian restaurant in Vancouver, great food great service
Tons of gluten-free options, which is a big plus in my books. The staff here are very friendly and they go the extra mile to ensure customers are happy. Highly recommended.
Loved it. Actually spicy when you ask for spicy.
Today I ordered the Pistachio Chicken curry for the first time here because I have never seen this dish anywhere else and I gotta say it did not disappoint me! The portion was good and also the taste of course. I also received some dessert wasn’t sure if it came with the meal but overall I would definitely order from here again ????
These guys are just making a fool of everyone visiting this place saying that this is Indian food. Yes, it looks Indian but, the quality is no where near. When I say, I want the curry ‘hot’, it doesn’t mean that you put a bunch of chilli flakes on the top and call it ‘hot’. I make Chinese food at home, doesn’t mean that I can cook at a Chinese restaurant. So, stop bitching about the fact that you serve proper Indian food. The taste is not even at par. For someone who is ready to spend a few more bucks and wanna taste authentic Indian cuisine, this is not the place. Sorry.
Excellent food and service. Worth trying this place. Their kabobs in particular are fantastic!
Love vaades! Our go-to Indian place in North Vancouver!
order from them waited 1h30 to get from 4 blocs and food were cold and prawns where border line . no apology from then after ordering from them so sad
Impressive and delicious-looking menu options, so needless to say I was super excited to receive my dinner via courier. The coconut prawn curry had spilled all over the inside of the bag - it’s because they use those flimsy plastic containers that are not meant to hold hot liquid, and the lid popped off in transit (good restaurants use the tin containers with the cardboard lid). Also, the vegetables were missing, and I instead was given beans of some sort. Last time I checked beans are not a vegetable. And to top it all off: the naan was burned. The only thing they got right was the rice :( The curry DID taste good (what was left of it) which is the reason for the three stars. I might still try their food again, but maybe take-out myself next time so I can inspect the order before taking it home.
5 stars immediately. I’m writing this review in the restaurant itself because the food was so good I couldn’t wait to tell people. We got the butter chicken, some kind of lamb(can’t remember the name) and vindaloo beef. It was sooooooo good. And also if you’re a kid and would rather fries than a salad and some dish of the day, then definitely get kids menu. (Unless there’s a curry you want that doesn’t come with kids) The kids menu comes with fries and naan and pretty much the same if not more curry! And for half the price! 5$ only for kids menu. Overall, this is a good place to stop. Even if you’re traveling it’s good because they give just the right amount of curry! It’s just so gooooooooood. (Ok I’ll stop now ????)
Best Indian food in town. Try them out. And they always have monthly coupons for free meals on their web site
Love this restaurant, will come again Got great recommendations Foood was so so delicious for typical Indians, and people wanting to try something new!!
Vaades is a small but authentic Indian restaurant in North Vancouver. We started off by ordering 2 appetizers - tandoori chicken and paneer tikka. I’d say the chicken was mediocre probably a 5/10, as the the use of red food colour in tandoori chicken is bit off putting and it tasted bland. The paneer tikka on the other hand was extremely delicious- flavourful and the taste was spot on. This was followed by 3 main dishes- all of them tasty and authentic as they can be. The food is reasonably priced and the quality of service is good. A little secret about this place, the masala tea is delicious!
I love this place, but they are always late. Always. They just need to use a different online system and it would be great. The system gives you a time range and even if you arrive at the latter end of the range you’ll still have to wait 15-20 mins, every time. Surely the confirmation email could have a more accurate timeStick to delivery or just show up 20 minutes late and risk the 1% chance your food is cold because it was made on time.
Good food but a bit oily
Amazing, friendly and professional staff who make sure you are happy and well fed! I cannot recommend Vaades enough! Affordable and delicious Indian food! Our regular delivery driver is amazing, always goes above and beyond especially during COVID times to make sure our meals are on time and hot!
One of the best Indian food places in North Vancouver. Must Visit.
One of our fav Indian places, cheap, good food, and we love the cheap meal platter to go with your main, rice, naan, dhal, and salad.
Love the vegan options! The mushroom curry is amazing! It used to come in a coconut which I miss!
If you are looking for great customer service, then you have to visit this restaurant. Excellent service and delicious food. If a guy named Kapil suggests you something, don't miss that. He gave great recommendations for the food. Overall, it is the best Indian restaurant I have visited till now in North Vancouver.
Tastes like i am back in Southern India. The lunch menu items are large portions. The online ordering is fast and easy.
One of my favourite spots for indian food. I frequented this spot regularly when I was living nearby. Their meals are always a great value (I can easily split a curry between dinner and lunch the next day) and if you're dining in, I highly recommend getting printing their online coupon and bringing it in to get more of a deal. I have always been satisfied with their service here. They greet everyone with a smile and if you're a regular they typically remember what you like and sometimes throw in an extra rice pudding as a thank you. This is the hands-down best spot for Indian food in North Van. I've never once been disappointed in the quality of food and service from this establishment.
I love Vaades food so much, I've been ordering takeout from here for years! That's why I'm sorry to say that every single time there's something wrong! Either it is getting different food than I ordered or quite a few times the packaging was total disaster, boxes weren't closed properly so the sauces were leeking into the bag and covered all over the other boxes inside of the bag, so in the end there's not much to eat after all! Guys, you gotta do something about this!! It would be such a shame to get bad reviews and lose customers just because the packaging! Please make sure, this won't happen again!
Meal type
The food is delicious and service is great .
I am very much excited to write about this resto 1) Perfect Ambience with desi essence 2) Mind blowing food quality and taste 3)Perhaps best service by the time Will certainly visit with our family and friends ???? keep up the good work guys ????????
Great Indian food on the North Shore. Not over priced and decent serving portions. The food comes out hot and has great flavor. A lot of the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan no problem. Online orders are convenient. This is my primary way I enjoy Vaades cuisine. They give 10% discount with online order and give you the option with the vegetarian dishes to make them vegan. The lamb, according to my dining partner, was tender and flavorful with a good amount of sauce for dipping and eating with rice. The portobello masala and cauliflower carrots are a thicker sauce, which I prefer. The heat level is always just right for my palate. They also have gluten free options which is so helpful dining with friends with major gluten sensitivity. They have something for almost anyone with food allergies or a preferred eating choice. The staff is always polite and helpful, and always have a smile. I haven't ever had an unpleasant experience here. This is my go to for Indian food above all the others in North Vancouver.
Lunch was great. Spiced just right and great flavors. We will definitely be back!
We looooooooove Vaades! Best authentic Indian food in Vancouver. Generous portions, love their fresh naan bread (probably baked in-house) and all the food is delicious. The fact that you can make almost anything on the menu dairy-free is definitely an add-on. Service is also great and thoughtful.
This restaurant puts "E" in Excellence. Just try the food and you will agree with me.
This was GREAT! Amazing food, our servers were great! Will go again. Paneer was tasty, lamb and prawn curry too. And the NAAN!!
Very good food and is open much later than most Indian restaurants. However, the server was very inattentive with our waters.
Staple north shore restaurant with the most delicious naan bread and mango lassi you'all ever have!
My favorite Indian food on the north shore.
Amazing food and service!
Dinner
Vaades is my favourite Indian restaurant, the food is amazing. Lots of options, open now for pick up or dilivery. Love the lamb, butter chicken, and veggie options. Great that they are open during this crisis.
Great food! Lovely atmosphere. There are a lot of mirrors which is cool but be careful not to get stuck in them. Music is pleasant and it is played alongside birds chirping. We enjoyed the butter chicken. The cups are stainless steel which was surprising and fun. Easy to come as a hang of people or alone. Fast, fresh food!!
Best vegetable samosa I've ever had. Everything was on point! Service amazing, very classy spot, and great food!
I LOVE VAADES......BUT SERIOUS WARNING!!!! Ive been eating there for years and they have consistently reassured me what items were vegan. They even advertise as being very vegan friendly and gluten-free friendly (so you would figure they know what vegan and gluten-free means). Turns out, they dont. They've been feeding vegans mayo for *years?* and im not sure what else is actually not vegan that they are feeding to vegan or non-dairy eaters. :( So sad to find this out, as its the only place I like to eat at on the north shore.
Coconut curry, vindaloo, biryani and pistachio lamb are all amazing and I love that they can be dairy free. Best Indian food on the north shore!
I’m really disappointed. After supporting this restaurant for at least 10 orders in 2021 I am Giving up. The food and prices are great but them Are NEVER on time and NEVER call to let us know. Our orders have been 75 mins late a few times. I am So disappointed that they don’t at least call us to let us know so we can make other plans.
I went to get take out to go to have dinner with friends. The food was good but it was expensive, however their lunch special looked like it was very reasonably priced.
Lunch special menu is ageing (Although some good options for first timers) Awesome dining , must try samosa plate.
Good food
We decided to go to Vaades after reading many good reviews and were extremely disappointed. The food was terrible. The pakora's were stale and the chicken was chewy. We both had stomachaches after eating here. Furthermore, the service was horrendous. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
Lunch special is always nice
The food is ALWAYS delicious and all the staff are so lovely. Best Indian food on the North Shore!
Excellent indian dishes that I had from Vaades. The service at Vaades were also the best. The unique tastes of the dishes and services that i received from this restaurant makes me to visit again.
Visited here recently with some friends from out of town and was very disappointed, ordered the Eggplant Bharta which was tasteless. The rice was overcooked and the rotis (bread) was hard. Went there because of some of the other reviews here but I will not be going there again !!! Prawn Coconut curry and Butter chicken were good (fortunately)
We ate lunch at Vaades today. Ram was our server. He was so friendly and gave us fantastic recommendations for the lunch specials. He definitely knows the menu well and answered all our questions about the food. He suggested pistachio chicken curry and butter chicken. Both were delicious. The portions are more than enough! Dip the naan bread in the sauce, it's so tasty! The salad has a nice light dressing. The chai was very cozy to have on a rainy day like today. We will be back! Thank you Ram!
The lamb curry is great, especially when fighting a cold ... Very spicy
Good taste and friendly service :) Is a lot of food in your order, trust me.
Food filled with love. Their paneer makhani was out of the world. Atmosphere and ambience complements the neighbourhood well.
must visit place. jut loved the food. The best paneer and best kheer i had in canada. ???? just loved everything and the staff too
Amazing lunch spot! Food and staff are all great and prices are reasonable. What more can you want?
Their lunch special is worth it for the price!!!
Ordered gluten free pakoras but got the standard ones. Now I’m sick. Thanks! Door dash and vaades receipt also not the same (it’s your fault vaades)
Best Indian restaurant i ever been. Super yummy and stuff is great. Period.
So much goodness
Great lunch spot
Most delicious indian food around the area. I am extremely please with the service and quality of food every time! I will always come back here for a delicious vegetarian meal! Thank you so much for the great service, food and a relax ambiance. :)
Always so good, their lunch special is amazing as well. Can't beat this for under $12!
best indian.
Extremely good. If anyone missing indian style tandoori chicken this is the right place to go also, staff is also good. Especially, Kapil is so well mannered and respectful.
amazing food. would recommend ordering direct with them (there is a discount) and you don't have to deal with the delay etc of doordash
Ordered a coconut prawn curry and a pistachio lamb curry, both dishes were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The mango lassi was a great addition to our lunch. Their naan was perfectly thin, not greasy, and had a nice crust on it. Definitely, the best Indian food I had in Vancouver up today.
Exceptional! This is one of those little places that offer an amazing dining experience at a reasonable price. I had the butter chicken and dined-in.
Good restaurant for a decent meal at a reasonable price.
Not as good as it used to be. Used to be outstanding.
Consistently incredible food every time I go here. The "2 Die For" menu on their website has some great dishes. I haven't tried anything I didn't love from here. The deep fried okra is something I've never seen before and it was so good.
Good and healthy food
Fantastic food and great lunch specials. One of my fave restaurants on the North Shore!
Very good and healthy foods !!
Fantasia, lunch special is to die for.
Excellent food (y)
Samosas and other snacks are good, limited options in main course for vegetarians.
The beef vindaloo was excellent! Loved the deep friend prawn appetizer too. Service was exceptional. I'll be going back.
Friendly service and great food you'll find here.
Great restaurant to have an authentic Indian taste. Paneer butter masala over here is the best dish I ever tasted in my life.. Naan were really fluffy and soft to eat. Rasmalai was so alluring. I can't wait to visit this place again after quarentine. Keep up the good work guys????
Best Indian in North Vancouver. A must.
Best Indian food we've found on the North Shore! With improvements to their website and ordering experience, this would be a 5-star.
Amazing service
Best Curry on the North Shore! Friendly staff and well priced.
Nice spot for some Indian food. Great service. We had the lunch combination it is a very good deal.
Very tasty and affordable. I will come back
Great restaurant and very nice staff. Food is awesome!
Lunch
Holy delicious the chicken curry here is amazing!! The flavor was perfect and the spice was just right! If you love Indian food stop here and your mouth will be happy you did!
Great food
Good place, good food, good services !
I just loved it. Almost after a month I enjoyed Indian food....
Very good food and service. Expect to take home leftovers, as portions are quite large.
Just ordered. Probably the best Indian cuisine I've ordered in Canada. Really good. Thank you.
Always consistently good food.
I love the staff, manager or the owner who ever is there.. always smiling and welcoming.. food consistence. Love it
We go here often for dinner and it is one of our favourite restaurants. It really is nice to dine in (even during Covid). Prices are very reasonable, food is delicious and beautifully presented and our regular waiter is very personable. The one thing we have missed is the traditional Indian classical music that used to play- it was beautiful and relaxing and added to the atmosphere. Vaades- please go back to the Indian music to go along with your delicious indian food!
Delicious coconut prawn curry! The lamb was tender and quite tasty as well. Naan was good, as was the whole experience!
Great food at great price
Cold. Food good, but every time a pickup came, temp dropped 10 degrees.
Best Indian on the North Shore
Excellent service, very good selection of great tasting curries and some good appetizers. Getting busier all the time, a great addition to lower lonsdale cuisine, and take out too.
Good value and great food
Phenomenal! We're new to the area and are so happy to have found this gem. Everything was delicious and the portions are generous. Can't wait to go back, after we've devoured the leftovers. Yum!
Lunch special , tsastes really good, so does volume. I like it
You really can't do better than Vaades. Their food is consistently great and has not inflated in price over the course of covid. Just try to find another place that will cure your butter chicken craving for $10. Spending $35-40 at Vaades nets you a bag of food with significant weight to it. Their Rogan Josh is also really good.
I have now ordered from here several times and am very impressed by the consistent quality. Generous portions, very reasonably priced, and an excellent mix of hot spicy and flavourful. Highly recommended.
Got delivery. Really impressed with the quality.
Ive spent months in India and this is the BEST Indian food I've had. All the flavours are hand crafted and the portions are extremely filling. I want to keep this place secret but feel obligated to share!!
We've been going to this place for many years. Last night we ordered for pickup through their website (10%off). Everything was just as good as dine-in. They even gave us complimentary desert too (or by mistake?) Fantastic.
Great food and service. Food is always hot and plentiful, always full of flavour aswell. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice place to eat that won't break the bank. I order from Vaades often and it's always very consistent and delicious.
This is my go to Indian restaurant. The food is delicious, and the pricing is even better! Can't find a better deal for dinner anywhere. Also, I recently placed a very large order for a work lunch, and they didn't disappoint. There was a very minor hiccup, but they went WAY above and beyond to fix the issue. I can't recommend them enough, especially since the portions are pretty big. Would give more stars if possible!
