My wife and I came by on Canada Day, it was quiet and our waitress while dressed for the occasion probably was not completely thrilled to be working. This was too bad because it showed. Nonetheless the service was adequate, wait time for our food was a bit too long in my opinion, probably because of orders for delivery by whatever door service people use for that. Wait time for clearing the dirty dishes was a bit long too. Personally I like it when staff who wait on other tables (especially the one beside us) help clear plates. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. So, altogether not terrible service. The waitresses even tag teamed a table vaping on the patio for us. Greatly appreciated! Food was great. I ate mine and a good part of my wife’s too. I will be back and will follow up on that experience as holiday service is a bit hit and miss sometimes. Happy I went and enjoyed the food.

Their fries are the best. Normally I tried to be a bit more healthy by ordering salad but this time I kept picking fries from my friend’s plate. The sandwiches were delicious and quite big. I found that I would like their Oreo cheesecake if it was a bit lighter. I would go back to try other dishes

One of the best if not THE BEST smoke BBQ restaurants in B.C. everything is cooked to perfection, the chicken drumsticks, pulled pork, and fries were beyond expectations. If there is a smoke house you need to try out, try Smoke and Bones BBQ.

Good but not amazing. Stay away from the Atomic Buffalo Turds.. the jalapeños were undercooked, too much cream cheese. Good selection of beers, waitress was friendly. Pulled pork and brisket were ok, smaller portions than we expected. Really enjoyed the fries and corn bread! Fun atmosphere, will likely return.

Luis Flores

Excellent food. Was looking to try a bit of everything and I'm glad I ordered the plater with the 4 family members I came with. The whole platter was great. A MUST TRY!

Smoke and Bones has good St Louise BBQ, tasty sides like beans and cornbread, and brews. They also have vegetarian options like cauliflower wings and roasted brussel sprouts.

This place has some delicious barbecue. Got my first taste when they were part of a catering event at my workplace and I couldn't wait to come back. We got the two meat platter and the Pitt wings. The beef brisket is absolutely amazing - soft, tender and full of flavor. My wife was personally impartial to the ribs because she really tasted the lovely smokey flavor and the meat came off the bones super easily. The Pitt wings were pretty good, but we felt like they were basted with too much sauce, though I suppose that is entirely to preference. It would have been a 5 star for the food alone, but we both felt the service was lacking. There was no one consistently monitoring the front desk. Dine in customers couldn't tell if they could get a seat because takeout orders were huddled around the front desk, and there was absolutely no clear order. Waited for a solid 30 minutes because no one was managing the doorway, only to be told that we were basically first in line. I think the waitstaff were quite polite and nice, but they just seemed too busy to really be very attentive, even after we were seated. Also, there's no point in wearing a face mask if you're going to have it tucked under the chin half the time. Just get another face covering if that's the case.

Brisket plate was excellent. Beautifully cooked beef, and the BBQ sauce has a nice kick to it. Tater salad, corn bread, and beans are all top notch. Come hungry!

Ivana Kresojevic

We had beef brisket, pulled pork and chicken.. it was delicious! Probably the best we had in Vancouver area.

Stephan Rossbach

Juicy pulled pork, delicious beef brisket and great service staff. The rubbed fries are fantastic!

Tammy Brimner

A decent discovery (near a bike shop) which is now on our list of favourite foods. Perfect after a MTB ride or anytime you are craving Southern BBQ. Pulled pork, sausage, coleslaw, potato salad and corn bread. ❤️

I can't get over how good the food is here and have to keep going back. The flavour and awards on the wall have turned me into a regular customer (on the days I eat meat). Not enough true BBQ places around. Hopefully these guys are here for a while

Trevor Davies

This place is good. Totally solid but I know the potential of bbq and this was a bit below that. Good restaurant beer though. Good chili!

Gillahad

Holy Smokes that was good! We ordered the mac and cheese and the pulled pork dinner. Both dinners and all the sides were fantastic. The portions were more than enough to leave us patting our bellies completely stuffed. Definitely will be ordering again.

Peter Cross

got the family platter for 3 to 4 people and was definitely more than enough food. Very delicious fresh barbeque. We would definitely come again

Calvin Chow

Ordered the Duke’s Rib Mac N Cheese off Doordash and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely plan to visit the actual restaurant someday!

Jocelyn Chan

Well worth the drive. Great service and even better food. Normally chicken is pretty low on my list of foods, but that might have been the first to be devoured. Smoked but still juicy and tender. The brisket was fall apart tender and (sorry) moist. Definitely get the fried brussel sprouts as well.

Jay Herbsen

Ordered the ribs and they came out cold. Told our server and he quickly replaced them; however, the new rack was barely warm. I told our server and he said the way they smoke the ribs results in the ribs never getting hotter than the ones I received. After living in the southern US and eating proper smoke house ribs I can tell you that the ribs should be coming out piping hot. For the higher price and poor food quality I would recommend skipping this place.

Wasn’t too bad. Ordered the platter which came with 6 different meats (chicken, pork ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sausages). Fillers were 1 corn muffin, potato salad, beans, coleslaw and slices of bread (which isn’t shareable portions) but i was here for the meats. The pulled pork and brisket was tender but the ribs were a bit tough and dry. Overall tasty, especially the small side of bbq sauce. Overall, i will return if I’m in the area.

We ordered their BBQ Family Style combo for 3 people, which included ribs, chicken, sausage, beed brisket, and pulled pork. Their BBQ sauce was awesome. The pulled pork was super tender. Everything was flavourful. Their sides were also awesome. The coleslaw was tastier than other places I've tried, and their potato salad was solid. Their Pitt Beans were great, with a hint of something uniquely sweet (my friends were guessing it was apricot?). Their fries were nicely seasoned, and would probably have been crispy outside and soft inside had we eaten it in at the restaurant instead of takeout. We paid about $33 each person. Overall, a great BBQ place. It is a little far for me in North Van, but worth the trek out! Oh, and they do catering too :-) .

What a wonderful place to eat. The staff is friendly and customer oriented, the ambient is cozy and the food is fantastic. The dishes are tasty and over sized, however, never put aside the burger or any other sandwich.

If you're looking to treat your taste buds to a euphoric experience, look no further than Smoke and Bones! Everything is mouth watering fall off the bone phenomenal goodness! I highly recommend and be sure I'll be back for more!

I normally love this place, everything is usually so so good. Yesterday we ordered the meat platter for 3 to 4 people which comes with an assortment of the best they have to offer and all the amazing sides. We got back home set the table and couldn't wait to start with the ribs. unfortunately we got into the ribs and they were so dry We couldn't eat them. They were hard to but into and were more like jerky. Luckily most of the other meat was really good but just really bummed out that we got such bad ribs. Usually they fall off the bone and they're amazing. The brisket was also a tad on the dry side. I will rewrite this review once I go back and give them another shot. The jalapeno poppers were really really good I have to give those five stars. Hopefully my next time around they'll have their recipe back to normal and the ribs fall off the bone. If so you'll get five stars for sure.

Shahrokh Javady

Awesome place. Very comparable to bbq I had in Dallas TX. Friendly service. Ordered the family meal. Good variety of dishes for 85$. Mac and cheese was excellent as well. Highly recommend.

Kyle LeGrow

First time here and definitely will be coming back. The BBQ Family Style for 3 was amazing and more than enough for 2 big hungry guys with a little left to take home. Great BBQ

Niall Drake

Pulled pork was awesome as was the burger and fries. Friendly manager and staff!

Andrei Vyrypaev

We've been to all the BBQ states and tried so many BBQs and I can tell you - this place is top class. Everything is cooked ideal. Service was a bit slow thought...

Arash Salamati

Best BBQ in Vancouver! When you enter you see all of the trophies on the mantel, current and old. Highly recommend this spot next time you are craving BBQ.

Shelby Arcay

Incredible bbq meal. Everything was perfect; the ribs and brisket were awesome, the fries some of the best I've ever had, even the cornbread was tasty. Was very impressed with my meal, happy to have found Smoke and Bones and I'll be back for more ????

Cristiane Aigner

Delicious food. Respectful and helpful staff.

Jane Ingram

Brisket and ribs were quite dry and over cooked, coleslaw tasted like all the creaminess drained to the bottom of the bucket and nobody bothered to mix it before serving, fries were good, Oreo cheesecake was meh. Overall would not go back.

Ali Bani-Sadr

Fantastic BBQ. Probably the best town. Great portions and reminds me of good Texan style. Brisket was best I've had but it's no slight against any of the meats or sides or appetizers. Great cocktails too. Definitely recommend, it's worth the drive!!

Adam Santos

Smoke and Bones BBQ has great BBQ ribs, and I also really enjoyed it there cheeseburger and fries. My only complaint about the restaurant is the calories even with my diet coke, the food there can easily get over 2000 calories.

After visiting a few tourist attractions in North Vancouver, this place happens to be conveniently located 10mins away. We ordered the an appetiser and platter to share. Appitiser was ok nothing too spectacular. Roast chicken was tender, fall off the bone ribs, pulled pork was a bit dry, brisket is also a bit dry, baked beans was the best thing on the platter. This may have something to so with southern style cooking but the meat was a little dry by itself and was drenched in a a little too much bbq sauce and a little bit too salty for my taste buds. Price is fair imo given the amount of meat was on the platter. Was an experience but likely won't return. Great service though.

Vivian Fung

See why they have all the trophies on display. The bbq meat platter was really nice and definitely enough for more than 2 people to share. Went with the family and enjoyed the food a lot. Stick with the bbq items as it seems this is where they are good at. We tried the nachos and definitely was one of the better ones we've had with plenty of cheese and guacamole. Wish they had more salsa though. Would definitely recommend this place.

Orion Tech Tips

The bbq was absolutely delicious, the beef brisket is very tender and pulled port is second to none. Service was quick and friendly, definitely will be back again.

Talk about Soul Food!! We went to Smoke and Bones for an early dinner. This right now is truly the only place to get a truly southern food experience in the Lower Mainland in my opinion. The service from the server was excellent, while maintaining the necessary social distancing. We were seated on the outside patio with plenty of space. She was pleasant and attentive. On the menu there are choices to satisfy any true carnivore. The choices of side dishes, such as corn bread or beans or the usual fries, makes your mouth salivate even before the food gets to the table. There is a platter on the menu that would be a good pick for a family of four that gives you a taste of everything, but bring a big appetite for that. We had the ribs and the beef brisket. The food arrived prompt, hot and delicious! The beer selection was very good and ours arrived nice and cold on this warm day. Pricing was reasonable for two. Judging from the many patrons coming and going, this is a very popular place. Thank you to Geoff and his staff for a very pleasant southern dinning experience. Highly recommend it.

The meat eaters have a good choice of BBQ dishes to choose from but the choice for the vegetarians is very limited. So we had a pow-wow after ordering our drinks of Dad’s Root Beer. My companions decided to have a Portabella Mushroom Burger each, and I had a Smoked Chicken Sandwich. The Mushroom Burger was more expensive than the Chicken Burger. We liked the ambiance of the restaurant and the service girls were friendly and helpful. The interiors had the looks of an old style bar and barbecue of the Wild West days. There were barrels and tall bar stools, and shelves lining the walls with liquor bottles in the bar shelves and books and decorative items on the other side. The burgers were juicy and quite a mouthful. Service was quick, but the prices were on the higher side.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Vancouver. I ordered the two meat combo for pickup (chicken+ribs). Just got home and wolfed it down. Oh my lord...everything was so good. Usually you get bbq and the coleslaw is just a filler side but even the coleslaw was delicious: not too wet nor too dry. My wife had the Cajun Chicken sandwich and she rated it 20/10...and she can be picky. I’ve had bbq from all the highly recommended places in Van, and this is hands down the best by far. Can’t wait to try out their other options...but right now it’s nap time.

Best tasting fries! Meat so delicious! BBQ sauce so smoky .

DJ Blizzard aka BigBlizz

Really good barbecue! Prices were reasonable, service was prompt and very friendly. The decor is really quite interesting. We went in on a cold dark night and left warm, happy, and full to bursting with chicken and ribs. Cornbread muffins were delicious, the potato salad was good, and the beans were excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Nestor Siu

A nice and clean restaurant with very friendly staff. The portions here are huge and they can definitely back up that they have award winning BBQ. It tasted so good, especially the beans that they have???? Their beer selection is quite good too. A very enjoyable meal was had here and I am looking forward to bringing back more people to this place again I would highly recommend

Two of us heard about this place and went for dinner last week (August 2021). We both ordered ribs and sides. Service was good, but I don't think I have ever had ribs that were so dry: they were smothered in a not-particularly-nice sauce, but once you got through and into the meat it was like chewing something that had been in the oven for about an hour or two longer than necessary. As well, the size of the half racks was about 1 third smaller than I would expect, leading me to more thoughts about drying out by over cooking. I had Pitt beans, which were okay, but had a slightly odd taste, and also potato salad, which was fine. My friend had decent fries and coleslaw, which was average. We won't be going back.

Bj Woods

Awesome barbecue and great service. Not the greatest fan of Montreal Ruben but the ribs and brisket were fantastic. ????

Brandon Baronaitis

Delicious BBQ! Fast , friendly service and all at a reasonable cost! Do yourself a favor and get the sweet and spicy wings. Brisket is also fantastic!

Alexander Claire

Absolutely delicious!!!!! Had dinner here for the first time as my friend highly recommend this place, and we were stunned by the service they provided and the food they have. Definitely a great place for hangouts???? give their ribs a try and you will love it!

Mitch C.

We had some late additions to the order but they handled it well (thank you!). Food was great ???? Cornbread was a little basic, but was good. The brisket cut was a wee bit on the fatty side, but I LOVED the peaches in the beans. Never had that before. Will order again or hopefully join friends inside. Looks like they are set up well for covid safety etc. Thank you!

Ryan Pan

10/10 would recommend! Absolutely delicious food, awesome chill atmosphere. We got: 3 Sisters Platter (delicious - fave was the ribs but everything was yummy - the beans????) Mac & Cheese (wow) 2 orders of hot wings (these were amazing...) Can’t wait to come here during the summer time as they have a nice patio ;)

Greg Chan

Good looking curb appeal upon walking up. Host was friendly and got us seated quickly. Both servers were helping eacothers sections which made for a much more enjoyable experience. Food was phenomenal. We went for the BBQ platter. Also had great beer on tap. Definitely coming back.

Dan J

I come to this place since it opened and it used to be the best BBQ place in town for the beef brisket (that's only what I order). Over time the portion got shrunk several times and the price gone up several times to the point where it has become overpriced. Last time, out of the 14 oz there was almost 4-5 oz of fat. Bottom line, used to be the best to becoming not worth even try... other BBQ places are much better

Karina Ambriz

Great place, the meat is so tender that it comes apart of the bone with no effort. We ordered 1 main each (4 people) and 1 to share, we had 2 leftover boxes, big portions. They have a platter for 4, would say is enough for 5-6. Highly recommended.

Al Merc

Went here for lunch and I had the two meat option and did not disappoint. Brisket was soo good my wife had to order one for her self. Service was quick and friendly. One of the few BBQ places I go back to.

Yuna Kim

Staffs are very friendly and nice. Even if we were two people, we ordered BBQ set for 3-4 people portion so we can taste everything. We made very good decision because we loved everything. It was very reasonable price and good quality of meats. We will visit here again!! Thank you!!

Darren Saunders

We ordered the wings and the 3 person platter. Our favorite was the potato salad and chicken. Especially the wings. House lager was good too. The people with us really enjoyed the pulled pork and ribs. Will be adding this to the monthly routine for wings and a beer. They have a decent drink menu for happy hour as well

A good bbq place was long overdue in north van. Recently this place opened up and this was by far one of the best experiences as far bbq goes that i had. Incredible food. Very well smoked and seasoned, great beer selection friendly staff reasonable prices and most importantly amazing bbq. Highly recommended

Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Service was pretty good. The waiter was very nice and friendly. The patio was really nice and worth sitting outside. The sides for the food and the mac and cheese with ribs were great, but unfortunately the main dishes being the BBQ meats, were a bit lacking. The beef brisket and ribs were on the drier side and not as tender as we would've liked. The ribs on the rack did not come off the bone as easily and required some effort to remove.
