When one goes to a pizza restaurant there is an expectation of the restaurant being able to serve pizza, which was unfortunately not the case for us. We went around 830 on a Friday and were seated promptly, there was a band playing but they were almost drown out by the terrible acoustics in the restaurant, it felt like everyone in the establishment was yelling inside my head. It was unbelievably noisey. The table was set with mismatched cutlery, and the wine glasses were used as water glasses, although I know I'm being petty is still kind of odd, especially when considering the prices at this place. Regardless of all of this, we were given menus and waited for about 15 minutes before a waiter approached. By this point we were pretty excited about finally getting to order. Instead of the standard 'what can we get you' however we got a 'we are out of pizza'. We decided to eat at one of the several other Italian restaurants on the north shore.

Very flavorful pizza. You can test every fresh ingredient from the basil to the tomatoes to the cheese and everything in between. Ordered 2 pizzas at prime time on a Friday night, and they were wood roasted and ready to eat after only 20 minutes. Tommy approved. :) #update August 15 2020: Have had dinner here 3 times now. Every time I am more impressed. The pizza is top notch. Seriously, you have to give it a try if you like Italian style pizza.

Reserved a specific table to celebrate my birthday. At the special day we arrived to the restaurant to find that not only the table was not reserved but if we wanted to sit outside on a different table we have to wait unspecified amount of time. Very disappointing for me and my guests. Had to change my plans in the last minute.

Pizza was soggy and limp, crust could not hold toppings on both pizzas that we ordered. Sizing was tiny and compared to what you can get in area, I would not order again.

First review I've written but feel it is warranted. We have been to Palermo's multiple times, sometimes in a large group and everytime the food has been excellent no matter what has been ordered beautifully prepared and delicious. The Pizza is authentic Neopolitan. We love the background music which is not overwhelming as in so many restaurants. The staff and owner are friendly and accommodating. We were there last week May 30th and it is still our favourite place to dine.

I went with friends last Sunday September 13 2020 for lunch at 3:30 the server greeted us in a very nice way he was sooo helpful and , then when the food came in i was still eating other server came to me 3 times in about 5 minutes and ask me do you wanna finish your slice of pizza , i was like am still eating then after 2 minutes she came back again and ask me did you eat it ,i told her stop asking me i am still eating then she was like if you don’t eat it take it home ,she was extremely rude and have no idea how to deal with customers, i liked the food aloot though , but because of their customer service i will never be back again .

I wish that I had taken a photo of it but I went in with my friend just before the most recent lockdown. I got spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious! I'm very picky and the meatballs were just amazing three huge ones!! I will absolutely go back wish I had the meatball recipe!

Nice staff, good-looking place/patio, local beers on tap. But we were disappointed by the Happy Hour, which said either calamari or meatballs on their website but was calamari or chicken wings at the restaurant. And the calamari was lightly breaded but still managed to be super greasy, with a lot of tomato sauce for dipping - not a fan at all. Will stick to their funghi options.

Pretty good pizza considering I tolerate room temperature/cold pizza lol! I picked up my order from which I told my mom to NOT order super early in case the kitchen cooks too early to prevent it being cold, but that's beside the point (she ordered it at 4pm and pick up wasn't until 530pm). But ANYWAY, the pizza was very delightful!! I'm sure it's even better when it comes out hot and fresh!!

Lonsdale needs more places like this. Casual Italian? I’m in! We went on opening day. I was pleasantly surprised by how organised everything looked. Warm welcome and greeting by the host, excellent follow up by the server and great overall atmosphere. Food wise we had the carpaccio and meatballs as appetizers. Simple but great flavours. For mains we had a pizza with pancetta and a tagliatelle with mushrooms. Very good flavours. I am excited to go again. I am sure that things will get even better once they have been open for a few months.

The service was 10/10 - extremely attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. This is the real deal in quality authentic Italian dining in Northshore. We had been here couple of times before, but this time we celebrated my husband's birthday with our friends and enjoyed the music band so much! Highly recommended.

Poor service.... Drinks spilled all down my wifes and her friends backs no offer to pay for cleaning . Half the group had pizza which came out 35 min before the rest of our parties food which came out under cooked (pasta) overcooked (halibut) and cold in the middle (lasagna). They gave us an extra pizza which was not ordered and tried to charge for it, and then we had to ask 5 times for the bill. No reduction in cost for the spilled drinks, when we asked for the extra pizza to be removed we were told but you ate it, and then unpolitly asked to leave. The manager literally pushed (hands on) my wife and her friend out the door. Very poor service. Oh and the table beside us found the the finger from a plastic glove in their pizza and the chef who came out to apologize simply said these things happen.... A lot to learn about customer service....

We all were excited until we waited for our dinner for an hour. Then we asked for manager. We brought up the matter and he said, is that what you called me for?!!!!! A very rude manager who then asked if we are Persian and we said yes and he gave us a bad look which meant to us shut up and eat. The owner should fire him immediately as he will bring loss to that place.

Great atmosphere, cozy and nice. The music was nice and perfect volume. The food was delicious, we had calamari, ceasar salad and veggie pizza. It was So good we continued with dessert ????. My daughter loved the lemon sorbetto and I enjoyed the classisc tiramisu. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Lots of smiles and engagement. The owner/chef impressed me as he came out to check on us,, and brought us their homemade bread himself (which was delicious)! I would recommend this place and will definitely be coming back

This has quickly become one of my favorite Italian eateries. The owner spends his time in the kitchen and cares deeply about his food. The pasta is freshly made, and every meal I've had has been incredible. Service is fast and friendly. Brick oven pizza. Highly recommended.

I am giving this place 3 stars as the service and attention to wanting to make a pleasant experience for their customers is important to them. They also have a virtual menu that you scan the code with your phone and it pops up...which is very cool. Social distancing tables in full effect and a pretty great patio space. The food..I had lasagna served to me that was less than warm. I sent it back to warm and they brought me a new piece..it was only slightly warmer than the first. My friends lasagna was the same but she was too hungry to wait to get it warmed up. The flavour I hate to say was very bland. I had to doctor it up with extra pepper and Parmesan to give it some personality! My friend said that the Ceaser Salad was tasty and the Calzone pretty good. The owner, I believe brought me a piece of Tiramisu on the house to make up for the lasagna business. I thought that was sweet. It was tasty.. but once again light on that punch of flavour I love in that dessert.

Came here with parents during happy hour, when the pizza was priced at $13. Had the insalata salad to start, then we ordered the margarita and the salsiccia pizza. Salad and margarita were both alright - salad could've used more vinegarette, but the salsiccia pizza was amazing. The perfect texture of the dough on top of the amazing flavours combined to form an amazing pizza experience. We will come back and try the calzones next time.

We were 7 friends very excited to get to this local brand new restaurant to celebrate our friend’s birthday last night. We made our orders at around 6:30 pm and waited for almost 1 hour. The manager came along later being absolutely rude with us because we asked him why it’s taking so long to get our food”. Later, we blamed ourselves that why we didn’t leave the restaurant after he talked to us like that.

A rainy nights refuge. A wonderful meal and beverages. A recommend visit if on Lonsdale. They had a screen showcasing Italy which was different, I guess it makes you feel like you were travelling. Good idea but a bit too much like a tourist advertisement. A small detail when paired with the food which was magnificent. Our server was attentive. The room recently renovated. Enjoy your visit.

Went there for a Birthday dinner food was very good prices were pretty good. I was in the resturant business for 13 years the only thing that needs to be worked on is the pizza flavor was good but crust was a bit to moist and limp really need to work on crust and a bit more cheese to keep the toppings on the crust. Other than that food is good and the staff is great. Lots of seating parking sometimes can be a challenge. Go and enjoy. ????????????????????

I came to eat here with my family and we had a wonderful experience!. Our lovely servers were extremely accommodating and pleasant with us. They regularly checked in on how we were doing and even the owner came to greet us. He was very entertaining and said many kind things to us. He made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. The restaurant is very bright and airy. There is lots of space and they easily accommodated one of my guests who is in a wheelchair. The food was absolutely amazing and the flavors were spot on and delicious!. The presentation of the food was luxurious and elegant. My brother in law ordered the pizza, and it looked delicious! They cooked the pizza in a beautiful looking wood stone fire oven and I'll be sure to try the pizza next time!. Our servers Kelly and micha (a lovely young Persian girl) gave us outstanding service and we were all very happy. We'll be sure to return soon!.

We love the food at Palermo Cucina. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly and an added bonus is the live music! Their menu works well as a convenient take home option too. If you are thinking of trying out this restaurant don't hesitate. We highly recommend it.

My wife and I dined in on a Friday night, which had live music making the experience even better. The food was very good, we had the chicken Parmesan and chicken and pesto pizza! Our server was very nice and attentive. The espresso martini was one of the best I’ve had! Will be back!

The food here is great but the service is awful. I called in a takeout order at 7:10, was told to come in 45 minutes, came in at exactly 7:55, and when I came in, waited to be rung up and then was spoken to SO rudely for taking too long to come pick up my order? I asked if that meant my food had been sitting out for long (they said not too long) and I explained that I was told 45 minutes and was on time for my order, and then was argued with about that by the woman I spoke to on the phone. Being in there for the 2 minutes it took to get my food was awful but at least it was good, just a little cold obviously.

Went at 5:45 on a Tuesday night. No other patrons, except young parents with a wailing baby picking up a pizza to go. It took over an hour to get our food, even though we gave our order within 5 minutes of our arrival. Our 2 salads, and an entree (calamari) arrived on time. Calamari was presentable, but both salads were very basic, of low value, and underwhelming ($12 for a single side salad)? I ordered a "Panzanella" salad, which was simply cut up bread cubes and cubed tomatoes ($12), with absolutely NO seasoning at all. After 45 minutes, the manager came to our table and told us our food had mistakenly been given to another table (which begs the question where did THEIR food go?), which meant we had t wait an additional 30 minutes for our pizza. After 90 minutes we received 3 pizzas when we ordered 2, which we then ate quickly (we were starving by then and would have eaten the box) and left with one pizza (which we had not ordered) in a box. Total cost for the night (prior to tip) was $77 for two pizzas and a couple of small single salads. Is this good value for a new restaurant? Aren't they supposed to be trying to impress? There are plenty of places close to us that provide better value and service. I predict this place will be gone by the end of the year unless their service and food offerings change. Will NOT be coming back.

Great kitchen food! The kitchen staff really rocked it! really good job on the calamari, the tomato sauce was to die for. The salad was good too, and the olive oil they are using is very good quality. The two pizzas that we ordered where ok. The pizza dough was perfect! I think who ever was working with it was adding to much flour when they actually were making the pizza, so the crust left my mouth very dry and i had to use alot of olive oil poured on it. The good thing was, the center was not wet at all and that was great but the end of the crust was way too thick, so i think its a learning curve in regards to the pizza assembly part, and working with the dough. I hope they can teach the pizza guys a better technique, the dough was perfect! Nice decor, great presentation, everything was clean, the servers where a little bit disorganized but they where really trying their best. I would give this place another try in about six months to see how they are doing in regards to the pizzas, its tough starting out a new business but i think with a little tweaking they have what it takes to make a success of it, good luck.

I don't normally post reviews but I had found this new pizza joint pop up close to my neighborhood and figured I'd give them a try. When my friend and I walked in the joint was very busy, the staff were all really friendly with exceptional service, our food was very enjoyable. One take away I would have to say is, the service was a bit slower paced but otherwise, I would recommend this pizza joint to all my friends and family! :)

I was introduced to this place by a friend and I enjoyed their food. They’re known for their delish Neopolitan pizza and pasta. We started with the deep fried calamari and had the prosciutto pizza with fresh arugula. The calamari came with slightly grilled red peppers which was a nice change. The sauce has a bit of a kick to it. It didn’t taste too greasy but a little too much of batter. The pizza was cooked in a wood fired pizza oven. The menu is one and the same for both lunch and dinner. There’s a decent selection for vegetarians. Note they’re only open for lunch from Wednesdays to Sundays. Closed Mondays. Service was prompt. Great ambience and clean place. Parking is on the street. Be aware of the 1 hour parking limits except the side streets which is 2 hr max.

Simply the worst service I have experienced in Canada. Which was not offset in any way by the very average food. Very basic service was lacking. We had to catch a server to ask if we could order, we had noone check if our food was ok, then we were brought the bill and then ignored for at least 30 minutes whilst we waited to pay. I was looking forward to this place opening but sadly will not be returning.

I am surprised by how many one-star reviews there are for this restaurant. but I suppose a lot of them have to do with the long wait time to get their food. When we were there on Friday night it was very busy but we didn't have to wait too long for our food at all. My friend and I went and were so happy with everything there. The food was fabulous. Our server was great. There was live music but we were thrilled because even though they were playing we could still have a conversation without yelling. So that's the best of both worlds. My only complaint is that you can't make a reservation online either on their website, OpenTable or any other place. As soon as we came in the door they told us it's best to make a reservation as it may sometimes be difficult to get a seat if we don't. BUT you need to call to make a reservation and yet they don't open until 5. We were given conflicting information as one one man told us someone is here during the day so we could call whenever we need to. However the waitress said we have to wait until after 5 to call to make a reservation. I don't know about you but I don't really use my phone to call anybody unless it's my aging grandmother. Delicious eggplant parmigiana - outstanding - tons of thin layers and perfectly cheesy. Good portions size too. Friendly staff, sanitizer and masks in effect, sat on the patio. Will definitely go there again soon for more eggplant parmigiana !

This was my go to for Italian food, and I loved it so much I decided to apply and ended up working one shift here. However, as an experienced server there were things I wasn’t pleased about and I decided not to work there. I was never paid for my shift despite reaching out to them numerous times. The staff that I worked with were also very rude and had a negative energy about them. I still have not heard from them after several months, and unfortunately it looks like I will have to file a claim. I’m very disappointed, as I loved this restaurant and wanted to support them through Covid. I won’t be going back again.

This is a must stop when you are in North Vancouver. The food is amazing, the service is top drawer, the restaurant is extremely clean. I go up every Sunday and have a pizza and an entree. Usually a pasta dish my goal is to try everything on that menu at least once..So far everything is down right delicious the chef is exceptional and know's how to make a great meal.. the owner is also a great guy always welcomes me with open arms and takes good care or myself and everyone I bring to try their delicious menu

The food was great with very reasonable prices. I'm definitely planning to go back and tryout the rest of the menu :) The only thing that can improve is providing some sort of system so that the costumers wouldn't need to wait in line by the restaurant during the busy hours (no one took our names/phone number down when we had to wait for our table, there was just old school lining up by the restaurant). Other than that everything was perfect. Thank you for the great service and food guys!

This place has great Italian food, good ambiance, and excellent hospitality! Fernando does a great job at making sure that his guests are well taken care of, it is this personal touch that makes this place unique. Their lamb chops are highly recommended but so are their pizzas and pastas. The atmosphere is relaxed with classy background music, and the service is friendly and good. Do visit if you are in the mood for good Italian food and a friendly environment.

Great calamari on delivery, okay bolognese but too heavy on the nutmeg, meat balls were really over spiced and not great. Caesar salad was just okay. Over all, we were looking forward to a good Italian meal and this wasn’t it.

We had the antipasto for two: the chorizo pancetta, and olives were good. The mozzarella was not great, while the portion size was more than generous. The Caprese salad was using the same mozzarella and covered in arugula. Very average. Suggestion: use a smaller plate, better presentation, lose the arugula, use basil and season it with salt and pepper. Had the pesto and chicken pizza. Very good. Lots of toppings for a wood fire oven pizza. The chicken wasn't dried out and tasty, a good amount of cheese and LOTS of pesto, with fresh basil on it. The crust was crisp all the way to the middle and had some flavour. Easily the highlight of the night. One more thing: maybe I'm spoiled, but I expect a curated beer selection for small places in North Vancouver. Three of six the draft beers were pale ales and the others were Granville Island honey lager and a "German lager" (not sure from where). Then the bottle selection was the same ones you find at a nation wide pizza place. This doesn't seperate you and you should try and be different. It's ok, but there's lots of competition in the neighborhood in this space (pizza). Now a deal breaker, while it doesn't encourage a return visit because I have a competitor closer to my home.

This place has the best Italian take out on the North Shore! Period! Excellent service during covid! Forget fast food pizza, for the same price or less you can get the most amazing Neapolitan style pizza! Also their new lasagna is the best! Their delivery was in 30 minutes and everything was hot, and paid for using social distance! Thanks guys! Can’t wait to come dine-in soon!

Amazing experience at Palermo. Takeout was fast and friendly. The pizza is bomb and the lasagne was super delicious. The red sauce for the pizza and lasagne is simple, delicious and very indicative of Neapolitan style cooking. You can tell they use High quality olive oil and tomatoes. Support this excellent local business - they are doing it right. Best on the north shore easily. With the steady decline of Bowen island pizza this place is now king. Thank you again!

My favourite restaurant in north van. Super comfortable deck. Open air inside also. Lots of shade or sun. (Doing this review in summer) Food is excellent. Palermo's provided the pizza for our engagement party and the whole group was raving about how delicious it was (even the next day)! The staff was also able to accommodate 2 delivery times to ensure the pizzas kept warm and even gave us some delicious tiramisu on the house as a small engagement gift. To be honest I was hesitant to go for the first time after reading some of the reviews. But finally got there last night. It was about 10-12 of us and it was the best decision we ever made. Great appetizers. Very nice and friendly staff and Pizzas were amazing. Didn’t have this high-quality pizza for a long time. We really needed a place like this in North Vancouver. Definitely will go back for beer and pizza. Thanks for the great food and service.

what a unique place. went there on Friday night enjoyed the live band and had a Cappriciosa pizza and it was delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming. next time I`ll try the tagliatele fungi `cos the table next to us loved it apparently.
