Enjoying my nice cold glass of Amber Ale & perfectly seared medium rare Striploin steak while overlooking Vancouver under a covered patio. Awesome food & Atmosphere :)

Attended for my 30th birthday. Ordered a New York Strip Classic Joey Steak and being new to Canada, we were simply hoping it would come out as nice as a normal steakhouse steak. Ended up with the downright best steak I’ve ever eaten. Service was good, ambience and speediness great but the food…. I should have known just looking at the way the kitchen was running this wasn’t just a chain but a proper resultant through and through Will be a happy returning customer

Was there Friday night, and service was wonderful. Kalla was especially helpful with giving drink and dessert recommendations, and helped guide us with what we should get. Always wanted to visit the shipyards, and our time there was excellent. Will be back again, without a doubt

Great location. Might be the best patio in all of vancouver! It’s joeys, you know what to expect with their food. Always pretty good. They got great highballs here with the slush. I like most of the food here. One thing I don’t like tho is the fish tacos, not enough flavour in those! The meat inside is so crispy it doesn’t taste great. *edit* changing my review to 4 stars. The chicken club sandwich was not it. Gotta add a breading or something to the chicken or season the chicken with some spices. Chicken too bland, bun is also way too dry. Stick to a brioche bun. Basil was a nice touch tho. Maybe use chipotle mayonnaise.

Terrible food but amazing views! The steak was almost cold and very well done ( we asked for a medium rare ) the salad didn’t seem fresh and service was just ok. Go there for drinks and enjoy the views! Don’t go hungry!

I invited my friends to Joey Shipyard! There are different accommodations to seat and all are awesome! We tried the Sushi and pasta parmesan with chicken, which were delicious. Italian donuts and chocolate cake perfectly done. Kids wanted to suggest the management to add pictures of foods to their virtual menu :)

If I could give 0 stars that would be adequate as that is how the staff made myself and my mother in law feel. After a long and exhausting day we just wanted to get a bite to eat. The Seaside concierge informed us of some of the places open late near by so we headed on down to Joey’s. At 10:12 we walked into the building to be “greeted” by 4 girls all huddled and talking. Not one of them even noticed we were standing there. My mother in law had to tap on the glass to get their attention. One of the girls then came from behind the hostess stand holding an iPad and immediately says, “I’m sorry we already had last call” and I in response said, “47 minutes before closing?” She then proceeded back around the hostess stand to ask one of the other girls if she could seat us and she said no. I’m sorry but the staff was unprofessional and unpleasant. If you’re going to advertise your hours, especially for a Saturday night then customers should be seated promptly. We called Tap and Barrel Shipyards where we were kindly greeted and informed, “Yes. Our kitchen is open and we are more than happy to serve you, alcohol last call was 9:45 though so we can only ring in food”. The service there was excellent! The food was delicious and we left with a fat $37.00 tip on the table for our server even though our bill was only $39.00. So if you’re thinking of where to go.. yeah just don’t bother with Joey’s. Many thanks. (:

Just had the best lunch here with the family. Great view. Maybe best on North Shore. Great service from Jacqui, Nikolina and the manager Jesse. A 5 star location. Don’t miss it. Reservations recommended. Don’t miss the ????

Amazing location on beautiful shipyard They have 2 patios with stunning view Food and beverages are great however relatively pricey (location justifies the price) Hosts are pros and super friendly It could be easily a five-star if they had a better reservation system. I have been here 3 times and all the times we had issues. You specify what you want and you get something else! I reserved both online and in-person, and was not happy with the process at all.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had!! Huge thank you to our waiter, hostess and chef for creating a wonderful birthday dessert. This went above and beyond any expectations I had for our outing and it will not be soon forgotten. Food and drinks were amazing as always. We will be back soon!

Kingphaka Chompooja

The best so far near the shipyard, easy to get to close to sea bus terminal. Staff was great, food was nice and the happy hour deals were perfect for us. Got to sit in the heated patio on a rainy day, enjoyed the water view. Definitely going back to this location again.

The restaurant is very spacious but busy all the time. We had Tuna Ahu clubs, crispy chicken sandwiches and molten chocolate cake for dessert. All were delicious. Service was good and quick. The menu, in my opinion, is a bit boring. There wasn’t really anything that I particularly want to try. I was happy with what I ordered though Come back again to try more food and things were brilliant. The portions were perfect, foods are delicious. I highly recommend the sushi steak combo

Great view. Friendly service. Good food — but not great food. Kids menu (actually off-menu offerings). Not cheap. Expect a very long wait for a table (which is the reason for just three stars).

The atmosphere and service are good. The food is so so. The dessert - molten chocolate cake with ice cream- is good

JJ

Food was good. Staff were nice. However at the end of the night around 1145 we ordered dessert. And it didn't show up until 1255 over an hour. The only way we got an update was finally after 45 minutes we asked someone to find out server. Yes they comped the dessert. However when the bill was paid the gratuity was included. Which I don't think is fair because that means you can receive bad service and you can't tip based on the service you received.

This place has brought Shipyards and lower Lonsdale area to life. You don't need to live in downtown core when you have this amazing restaurant experience in your backyard. Great dishes. Try the sushi cones and Ribeye steak. Won't be disappointed

We truly had the most wonderful experience this evening! Our server Andre was PHENOMENAL!!! We came in as a group of 10, and we know we can be a handful, but he treated us so well! When we first arrived he greeted us right away with waters and a big friendly smile and almost immediately our group were bombarding him with drink requests. He quickly took down our drinks without a hitch, and before we were done ordering, he had organized for someone else to bring a round of complimentary champagne for everyone! wow! Drinks came out quickly, and this is where Andre stood out as a great server to us. As he was taking our food order, he noticed some of my friends had a French accent as they are from Montreal, and he switched right away to speaking French to them! It was amazing to watch him go around the table switching from French to English answering our questions so easily. My friends were so appreciative of receiving service in French! Later on he came out with the food followed by some colleagues from the kitchen, and everything was so delicious! The salmon sushi was my favourite! All in all, thanks to Andre and the wonderful team behind him, we had an amazing time. Not only was his service great, but we he was a joy to talk to! I had to create this account just to write this review to let everyone know to request him if you'd like get service in French! Merci!

Was compelled to write this review because I was so happy with my service - the table beside me however was unwarrantedly hostile towards their server Soleil. She was doing a great job and was just unlucky to be serving preemptively grumpy customers that day. She was nothing but lovely and helpful to me and my table!

Julia Kristina

Vaccine cards were checked which I am always happy to see these days. We sat outside under the heaters & enjoyed a nice light lunch. Nice variety & they were able to divide one sandwich into two servings in our party of 6. I will be back.

I have a severe soy allergy, and my server was patient and diligent checking with the kitchen on possible options for me. When I got something I was unsure about she addressed it, and the Management also assisted to assure me of my safety at their location. They went above and beyond and were patient and kind the entire time. I am glad to have a place I can go and eat knowing my safety is a concern for them and taken care of.

Elizabeth M

Very good service and dishes!! View is amazing all the time!!

I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich from this location on doordash on Sunday (December 5th). I ate about half of the sandwich when i discovered it was very raw! My girlfriend was nice enough to call the restaurant to report this as i was feeling quite sick at the time and waited on hold for about 20min before giving up. The following day, she phoned again as I was quite ill and we were concerned that this may have happened to others. This time, someone did answer the phone, however, she was told the manager was busy and would give her a call back that evening. She did not receive a call back. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism from this establishment when it comes to serving unsafe food.

One the main things that I love about this place is their outside patio. The view is just incredible and the ambience along with the fire place is just romantic and cozy. Perfect for dates or just hang out with family and friends. The girls that work there are just so sweet and friendly. They will give you good recommendations if it’s your first time trying the place. The bar is really cool as well and good drinks. I have gone on a Sunday evening and I did not need reservations. Comfortable seatings and cool design. It’s a great edition to that area.

Aman Dhillon

My tuna & salad was excellent. My friends had a salad and pasta dishes & seemed to be good. Pricing is high is about 20% compared to Tap & Barrel Olympic village for a very similar chicken chickpea salad dish.

Andrew Mardjuki

An amazing restaurant with an amazing view. Very accommodating staff, we went there for my wife's birthday dinner party... the staff went out of their way to make it special for her. They provided special drinks on the house with "Happy Birthday" written on the tray...

Hiba S.P

This location is new and it was very hard to get a table in the patio since there were no reservations available and it was first come first served. After waiting for 2 hours we were seated and the view was worth the wait. The food was good as usual, but the host was rushing us. For food I recommend steak & sushi or the seared salmon sushi.

Great service and food! Alex, the night manager was amazing and took great care of us. Their gauc was out of this world, best we’ve ever had!! Chicken Parm and curry noodle bowl were delicious, we would definitely come back!

Great space, location and view but disappointed on last visit. I tried to make a reservation for lunch on Sunday and was booked - fair enough. Website says they leave tables for walk-ins. Came by ~12:30pm - with COVID, there are 2 lines outside clearly labelled with signs - one for people with reservations one for people without. Stayed in line for 'without' for close to 10 minutes - nobody in restaurant came by to acknowledge or provide info. The hostess did walk by me while outside multiple times to seat people but didn't say a thing. Finally I came inside restaurant and same hostess said I could have come inside (?????) and then proceeded to tell me there was a 45 min-1 hour wait which she could have told me while I was waiting in the line which apparently she didn't know about despite being the hostess at the restaurant..

Avery Young

Service is excellent and view from patio is awesome. Menu prices are reasonable for the most part. Ordered the 11oz peppercorn striploin, flavour was really good. The mash potato was wrapped in a spring roll wrap and drop fried, very creative way to prepare mash potatoes. Non-alcoholic drinks are pricey, a 200 ml small bottle of ginger beer will cost you 7.50 each which is the same cost as a 473 ml can of beer. Good ribe and great place for dinner.

JT

Food is super mediocre. Expensive for what you get. I liked the fries.. but you can’t really go wrong with fries. The fried chicken tasted cheap with thin batter that just comes right off. You basically pay for the view and atmosphere. If you want some good food instead I recommend checking out other restaurants in the area. Not a bad place if you are just coming in for drinks + snack.

Nice environment, great food! The only thing that upset us a bit on our last visit on Sunday was that the server offered a different type of stake and didn’t disclose that the price was different than the one we were originally ordered from the happy hour menu. We got a bit disappointed as the price was almost double and we just learned about it when paying the bill. When you go to a fine dining restaurant you expect a bit better customer service and info.

Alex & Brian are possibly the greatest managers and servers we’ve ever had. Not only was the experience incredible, their conversational skills and hospitality are amazing. Add on top of that the skyline view of downtown Vancouver from the patio, it was a one of the best dining in moments that I’ve ever been part of. The food, the people, make sure you come here, you’ll appreciate every moment of it. Thanks guys. P.s. Check out Alex’s film “Wired Shut” it’s coming out this year.

The crispy chicken sandwich is the best I've ever tasted (get it with the spicy mayo instead of honey mustard - you won't be sorry!)!! They gave great service, beautiful patio space with heaters, and they even wrote "Happy Honeymoon" on our dessert when we said we were on our honeymoon earlier in the meal! They also have delicious bellinis, and serve complimentary champagne when you first sit down. We had such a great honeymoon dinner here!

If I could give a review better than 5 stars, I would. I took my little sister out for her 25th birthday. We have gone to the Joey's in Coquitlam for years for once in a while special family events... but havent been back in a while because I live on Vancouver Island now. So, we got our CLASSIC go to favourites. Butter Chicken, Szechuan Lettuce Wraps, and of COURSE.... the molten lava cake. Ohhhhhhh my GOODNESS. Everything was absolutely excellent. We were welcomed with Champagne at the door which was phenomenal. Thankyou! We also ordered bellinis, but unfortunately they were a bit too frozen. They took some time to thaw, which did not really line up with our food, but the staff came by and offered to refill our champagne. Also, I believe that our server was "Trystan?" Some guy with a name that started with T. I wish I could remember. Anyways, he told me he wants to be the manager and I said I would give him a nice review. I'm sorry I cant recall your name "T" guy, but your service was outstanding and I have zero complaints at all. Good luck on the management role, you would be an excellent fit for it.

I have been coming to Joey since it’s open. I met a lovely young lady, Hannah, who I honestly thought was management. It has taken me until today to discover she was a busser and now a server. In my line of work I eat out every day. I have never had the fantastic experience that Hannah gives. My girlfriend and I recently lost a parent. Hannah stepped up and made us smile that day. Today, at lunch, she felt like family. Couldn’t ask for a better representative of your establishment. I wish she was part of my family!!!!

Great view from the North Shore - The welcome bubbles are a classy touch! Definitely my favourite Joeys location. Bartenders are friendly, lovely company when you are dining solo. The main floor and top floor both have great views! Awesome happy hour menu, will come here again, and again.

Our visit was amazing. Our server Andre (aka dr. Dre) was top notch. He was constantly vigilant on our drink orders, food orders were perfectly timed. And kudos to the kitchen as they were as well. Plus the fact the food was delish!!!! Will definitely go many more times.

Great location near Lonsdale Quay. Outdoor seating and some indoor seating that looks out onto the water; great view on a sunny day. Staff were friendly. Had the Pressed Burger with Cheddar and Bacon which was quite good. Really loved the truffle fries as the side. Not sure how common this is, haven't been out eating in a while, but you they have a thing at the table that you can tap (NFC) you phone to that can take you to the menu and your bill, and you can pay your bill online.

Tim Bowles

We just had a wonderful meal and experience, happy hour was amazing - Brian came and greeted us at the door, was personable from the get go. He had a great attitude, knows his job and it was a pleasure being his customer - we will return and ask for his services. The food was absolutely amazing, hot and fresh and flavourful. Brian’s service and capabilities as a server put our experience over the top and we will be returning very soon.

Wow the the experience we had was breathtaking it was amazing to see how much we were cared for and we loved our server and loved the little conversation with Miranda I think the manager about the amazing Indian food if you are looking for a good place to eat you shall stop looking cause this beats all the restaurants in the area hands down it was such amazing food and such amazing service and we will definitely come again thank you so much ???? joeys for making making are day and I would like to really felicitate them because my family was a bit worried about the amount of people and cleanliness but it was astonishing the measures they take to make it safe for us all and again I wanna say a huge thanks ????

Came here on an grand opening day for lunch, and had great service and good food. I ordered the cauliflower and the sweet potato fries. My only issue, is I ordered from the first page, and showed the server where I ordered from, but was not told that was the happy hour menu. Unfortunately this it was lunch time, not happy hour time, but I didnt know there was a mistake until my bill came. Nevertheless, the food was good.

We were in North Vancouver and I had read about the new Joey Shipyards, so checked out the website earlier in the day. Turns out that the GM of the newest/coolest Joey is Jesse Cera, who I know from the Coquitlam Joey. As expected the service was simply outstanding. Our waitress Claire was particularly wonderful, as were all the others who constantly made sure we had everything we needed. Had the New Cobb Salad which was the best both my wife and I had ever had. Going back soon, again and again.

The location is great , the service is great , but the food is nothing to do with great Today I went there with my friends and we ordered a salad, a sushi and a guacamole. The salad was far way too salty, but when we told the waitress, she quickly changed a new one for us, it tasted much better. The guacamole was good, but the sushi... my friend said the tuna tasted not fresh at all, but I just feel okay. But, we both began to diarrhea this evening. That was awful. Really needs to improve the quality of the food.

The food and service at this location are equally amazing. If you’re lucky enough to score a south facing seat at sunset, you’ll be treated to a glowy view of downtown Vancouver. We can’t wait to visit again!

We just came from a lunch to celebrate my Father’s 91st birthday. Jenny and Ari made the lunch celebration very special. A terrific table on the patio with a beautiful Happy Birthday board waiting for us. Complimentary bubbly, and extremely considerate service. At 86 and 91 my folks are unable to wait standing for very long and can’t walk too far. Jenny and Ari made sure they had a terrific spot to land and the service was impeccable. Thank you for making my Dad’s day special. We really appreciate your kindness. We all will be back.

If I could give my experience 0 I would. I took my husband for a superise birthday dinner, booked a table two weeks ahead. When we got there we put by patio door that's left open on a small table, I asked the server if we could we moved since it's so cold there with the door open and it's rainy day, stated will check and see if something else is available, we were never moved. They were so busy and we didn't get ordered placed 45mins of sitting there, brought my food out and my husband waited25 mins for his food. I didn't get my drink until I finished my meal halfway. We were so fed up that we didn't finish our meal and got our bill and left, having to 20mins just for the bill was the icing on top. You would think making a reservation 2weeks ahead would allow for better service and least a table where you are sitting comfortably. Horrible experience. I am unable to reply back their respond so I thought I would do it, I love how just to show much they care they replied to my review just to show the public how much they care about customer service. They had emailed me asking for my phone number and it's been a month have not heard anything back from them. What a joke so next time don't reply with response when you have nothing to change about your customer service ????

Peter Toth

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Came all the way from surrey to try this place out, it was a good spot, and great waterfront view. But apparently that was just it, it was at a great spot and awesome patio view, decent food, but service pretty much ruined all of that. The family and I went in for Dinner for my sister's birthday. And the worst service ever from our Waiter(brian). He came to the table to introduce himself, SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL, stood with arms crossed over his chest and wasnt very accommodating. Did not even bother to ask how we are and if theres any special occasion. Didnt even bother checking if the cutlery he was bringing to the table were cleaned. Happened twice, first one was the knife, the second was when mom was being served the lettuce wrap(the tongs were dirty). And simply just the way his attitude was. I really hope this does not happen when a Mystery Diner comes in to eat. I can only imagine what negative review and the write up THIS restaurant will get. After eating, i asked if they did anything for special birthday celebrants, He didnt even bother trying, he went ahead and brought out the manager at the time. And when the manager came, ugh first off please make sure your shirt if fully buttoned up, we don't need to see your stomach. And then he proceeded to tell us that "Sorry we do not do anything to comp a dessert for the birthday girl, but if you want you can order a dessert and we can decorate it". WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! They dont even deserve a star, there should be a negative star option.

David Chu (Wabbit)

Wow! Dining experience must! Great view of downtown ports and has history as the location was a shipyard before the pier renovation.

Donya Pourtaghi

The restaurant has the great view and the salad in the crispy chicken burger is so good.

Ritesh Maisuria

Let me start by saying that the overall atmosphere and location are wonderful and the service was great but soon after we were sat a couple of things went downhill quickly. The complementary prosecco wasn't given to us and my mother had to ask the front staff herself to even receive it. Two times during the meal other guests food was offered to us accidentally. Both my girlfriend and I ordered the Steak and lobster ravioli and were heavily disappointed with what was brought to us. for $29.75 you get a less than 6oz steak and four pieces of ravioli which is barley enough to be even called an entrée. The manager on shift then came over to us and was extremely defensive about the restaurant and made us feel as if we were in the wrong commenting on the side of a main course. He then proceeded to tell us that there was the same menu item on the appetizer menu which is strange because even if there is the same menu item on two parts of the menu there should be a way that it differentiates it from the other. Afterwards we were given eight more pieces of ravioli which were valued at over $30 to make amends and one of them had a hair on them. I will recommend those who come here not order this menu item and be warned that the management is not on the customers side when there is an issue.

Excellent steak and sushi. Music was great, not too loud at all. Great place for a date. Awesome location near the water. Server accommodated my request for a booth which was hugely appreciated.

Such a great atmosphere and amazing view. Our server Andre was absolutely amazing! He made the experience just that much better for us and really excelled at his job. He was super friendly and really knew his stuff! Highly recommend coming here!!

This place has similar food to earls and cactus club. They have a great happy hour from 3-6pm every day and 9-close Sunday to Thursday. They have tables for large groups, great views of downtown Vancouver, and a large patio for when it’s warm enough. I suggest to make a reservation because this location gets busy quickly. So far the service and food has been great. If you want to stay on the north shore, this place is one of the best options.

Jamie Sheehan

I usually don't write review but my experience was so bad that I had to write. I took my mom to this place and we both ordered steak one asking for medium and one medium well. when they brought the steak I tried mine and it was fully cooked to well done and my mom's was rare. I told the waitress nicely when she asked how our steak was. the waiterss surprisingly instead of apologizing said maybe they are in wrong plates do you guys want to exchange steaks! I was so surprised that she even mentioned that( even If it was not covid I didn't wanted to have some food that it's been already touched) so I told her nicely maybe if it was not Covid and if it was cooked right we would've. So instead of taking our plates she asked us to put our steak in different plate so she can take it and we could work on mashed potato alone! after waiting fo so long she comes back with steaks on small side plate( unbelievable )I could not believe my eyes! how cheap a restaurant can be and how they can even serve a steak like that when itw's their fault! Even the second time both of our steaks were cooked rare! we were so hungry so we just ate so we could just leave! Surprisingly the manager comes and say how was it and I said it was ok I just didn't like the way it was served and he said apparently it was in wrong plates and I said no it was cooked wronged he was like if I could offer you drinks or desert and I said no thank you! like are you serious! you could've just at least served the food right the second time ! who serves steaks in small side plate! would give this restaurant and manager 0 star and would never go back

So lucky to bump into this place while visiting Vancouver! It was like having a hint of summer again, they had this fireplace and a beautiful view of the river and the city. The service was great and the food was INCREDIBLE! And the deals during happy hour were great. We had the steak and sushi, chips with guacamole, a sushi cone and the farmers salad with chicken, and the sangria was SUPER tasty. 10/10, will definitely come back when visiting again

The staff and food was second to none. 10 out of 10 for the Spaghetti Pomodoro . Our waitress,Soleil never missed a beat, thank you. I could see the staff enjoyed working here. What a great first time experience. I will be back! Best location on the north shore. Thanks to Audessa, guest services manager for a very enjoyable visit. I dined here last night with four others. The food is excellent as is the service. It was extremely busy but still ran like clockwork! Extremely friendly and efficient servers and a great atmosphere. The ground floor is also wheelchair accessible. What more could you want! Thank you.

Wonderful location with brilliant views from the patio specially on the top floor. Cant get enough of it. The server Claire was great with her service. Food at Joeys is always awesome. Love their truffle fries, hummus, Korean cauliflower, tofu bowl, Sangria ❤️ and molten lava cake ????

The food was pretty good. Went today to meet my family for lunch. Our waitress could not manage our table of 7. Food and plates left on the table long after we were done, no refills forever... Mostly disappointed. We felt forgotten today.

I had the opportunity to visit Joey Shipyard in North Vancouver 2 days ago. From the get go , it was an amazing experience. We were greeted with 2 glasses of sparkling wine and then escorted to our table by Rob ,the bar manager. His pleasant demeanour set the tone for our short visit there. Alex our server couldn’t have been more polite, helpful or courteous. It was truly an A++ service that will bring us back to this location many a time. Thank you to the restaurant that is going the extra mile in making their patrons feel so welcome. As an aside, our food and drink were top standard as well.

Overall good and cozy place to hung out, strong customer service with professional attitude. I'm really happy that how they treat customers. Food was super delicious!

Thomas J

Went at about 9:45 on a Wednesday evening, and there was a wait of almost an hour. But we got a spot at the bar without waiting, so that was nice. With happy hour pricing, dinner was pretty reasonably priced. I got some steak frites, but they actually got it wrong. Guess the bartender had some issues hearing with all the noise. But they were super courteous about it, and got it resolved fast. And once the food did come, it was cooked perfectly, so I was happy. So a hiccup or two, one of which was nobody's fault (busyness), and the other which was handled well, so all good from my perspective.

Sarah Lord Ferguson

I shared Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Steak + Lobster Ravioli. Both were unique and delicious with a very nice presentation. With nice seating inside and a large patio and being right on the water I highly recommend Joey Shipyards for a unique meal in a wonderful setting.

First off, I have to acknowledge Pat, our server who was fantastic. He was attentive, a good conversationalist and made us laugh. The food was, as always, delicious. I had the ahi tuna club and my friend had the homemade veggie burger, and eventually we share their apple pie. It was all sublime. Will definitely visit more often, especially for patio season!

This is undoubtedly the best JOEY of all. Aside from the great, consistent food and drinks, the wonderful service, if you're on the patio or the 2nd floor, you have one of the most breathtaking views of downtown Vancouver and the harbour. The steak and sushi combination is my favorite and the truffle fries are a level above the rest. Sangria is great and the steaks are well aged. However they cook one grade more than you would expect. A medium rare will wind up medium so it's best to make an adjustment. The apple pie with ice cream and the crème brûlée are exceptional so leave room. Also don't park in the parking under the restaurant. You can wind up paying $26 for 3 hours, the most expensive parking in Vancouver. There's a mercenary parking enforcer who will ticket you between the time you get out of the car and get to the parking meter.

Arash Salamati

Come for happy hour!! This JOEY is brand new and beautiful! Lovely hostess will send you a text when your table is ready. Request a patio table, worth the wait! We stopped in for some happy hour drinks and a few small bites. Our waitress was very friendly and took her time with our table for special requests which was nice not to feel rushed. Unfortunately my daughters drink arrived with a hair and wasn't noticed till she took a sip or two. Our waitress was great about it, hey these things happen, brought her a new drink right away. I feel from a management perspective taking the time to approach a guest that has an experience like this is very important. No manager came by and the drink was still on the bill when it arrived. Not the waitresses fault but, things should have played out differently and would have I'm sure if a manager took the initiative. We did have a perfect table on the water and our waitress was great so I would come back and hope for a better experience next time.

I had a great experience at Joeys! The food and service was amazing plus the restaurant itself is gorgeous. I ordered the yellowfin tuna salad and ribeye. Patrick was my server and I wish I asked for his contact information because he was such an enthusiastic and fun person ! Hit me up Patrick

Beautiful environment both inside and out. Felt very covid safe. Excellent restaurant for dining with companions who have allergies or strict dietary preferences. Adore the food, great menu. Happy Hour menu has good variety. Recommend the heated patio on the second level for some beautiful views. I have eaten here a number of times with different guests since they opened and service has been consistently high standard.

Being a franchise, Joeys is very safe bet when it comes to finding a place to dine out. The food is obviously fantastic, delicious, and fresh. You can’t go wrong. Don’t mind the dim photos, the lighting was dim where we were sitting as well (ambiance)

Fantastic waterfront views of the city and pier. Excellent service, tasty food, gluten free menu section and reasonable prices (in line with Earls / Cactus). Highly recommended!

Love this Joey. Easily the nicest, most beautiful Joey I’ve ever been to (I’m from Toronto) The view of this place is incredible and the staff are even more amazing. Brittany one of the GM’s here does such an amazing job- she was super welcoming, and answered all my questions regarding the menu. For sure one of the best experiences with management I’ve come across at this establishment. I ordered the steak- medium rare with a side of mash and asparagus. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and moist, asparagus had just the right amount of seasoning and crush, and the mash were perfect. Visiting this location made me want to move to Vancouver. I can’t wait to visit this location again next time I’m visiting.

On a busy Sunday afternoon, there were more than a dozen empty tables inside the restaurant, but we were waiting for twenty minutes for a table and were only given a table when we asked again. Food was not bad but very small in portion.

Matthaeus Alfaro

Food is awesome! Lot's of food choices to choose from. Friendly staff especially our server, Sheena? sorry I forgot your name ???? She gave us some freebies!!! ???? I'll definitely come back with the gang! ☺️

Always love going to Joeys as they always have great food and splendid service. Also, love the location! My favourite dish hands down would be the lobster ravioli -- highly recommend :)

Maggie L

Ordered a margarita at the bar, small glass, a lot of ice, drank it in 3 sips, $13 later...no value, shrimp pasta dinner was very lemony :( service was good, after all that, spent about $180 for 2

Thomas Clemmer

Food is mediocre. The dish I ordered was something I ordered in the past and it was really dry. Ambience is nice but really nothing special. Some food items are not worth the price given its presentation but nonetheless, our server was super nice. Staff's great and friendly. It's just the food and value. Wish they would expand their men.

A few weeks back I had visited Joey shipyards with some work colleagues. We were sat on their patio and waited to be even greeted for10 minutes. When we were finally acknowledged we had ordered some happy hour drinks. It was 2:01. They said it was too late. Could not make an exception. It's not about the money. It's the fact we waited for ever to be talked to, when the order time would not have been the problem. As we left and spoke with the floor manager, we were brushed off. As We walked out we stated we would make a review at which point we were chased outside by the manager. At that point she was very empathetic and gave her the Asst. Managers card. Upon our next visit, we had contacted Brittany by email. She said that the manager on duty would ensure we had a great time. First off, no manager even came to the table, The last time was not even acknowledged. Didn't seem they cared I guess. I don't even know why we had an email back. On top of it all, they charged one of our food items at regular price. We had already paid, so the server had said oh and just waived a $5 bill at my colleague because she did not want to refund it through the machine. I am a manager in the industry and I would have handled this whole situation differently. I do not think I will be back. I would not recommend them to anyone. Better management training.

Glad to visit Joey's new restaurant opened up in North Shore, be aware waiting time could be substantial for walk in customers. Server being constantly checking while waiting the table, even offers champagne and food bites. Food is good, service good too.

Chris Wejr

Happy hour is the best on the North Shore. Good quality wine, every appetizer is well presented and is is equally as delicious as it looks. Our server was wonderful. Professional and friendly. There is not one negative comment I can say about this restaurant

Lovely experience. Very friendly service. Quality food and beautiful location. Best of all we had a free lunch ???? there were problems with the card reading machine. So after a couple of tries they just told us we would not be charged. How generous. This is what I call customer service. Outstanding. Defenintly will come back. Food btw was very good. Steak perfectly cooked, amazing pepper source.

The Service was unprofessional and pathetic. Just to get our drinks served took too long but they were not that busy . Even though the food was ok their incompetent service turned everything terrible . The waitress that looked after our table , apparently was a manager, but she was extremely rude and neglected us instead she clear out other tables . I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. Worst experience in the NorthShore .

R Thiru

Absolutely amazing experience. The area is really well developed and festive with great views and fun activities around. The restaurant itself has a wonderful and modern industrial look with wonderful service and delicious food. The whole staff is friendly and wonderful. This was our first restaurant trip in 2 years as they also took the precautions for Covid. We had our family get together after such a long time and glad we celebrated with Joey's

Alannah Banovac

Went here for the baja fish tacos and the oven roasted wild pacific cod and they taste great. Joey always maintain to be good and consistent and that is why I keep coming here for the consistency and the comfort food. The view is amazing though from here and the chill place patio is just amazing. I would recommend people to come here and chill with their friends!

A great place to have a good drink, nice view and tasty food. We love to go on Wednesday nights as wine bottles are half off. Very young vibe and always a busy place. The service has never failed us and when there was mistakes they made sure to take care of it and make up for it. I recommend the white wine called la crema and the steak and salmon sushi...so good ????

Great Experience! Very nice and lovely view of the downtown! The service was amazing and the food was extra delicious! Super good and highly recommended

We went for a date night, the location & view is great & we really enjoyed our appies & cocktails. We had to leave shortly after though as the music was SO loud we couldn’t even comfortably talk or hear one another (& we were sat pretty close). If it wasn’t for the excessive volume we’d have comfortably hung out & enjoyed more food & drinks. Not sure the music choice really creates the right atmosphere, in what is otherwise a really nice restaurant.

A day by the ocean! We love being by the sea for the fresh air and sunshine. We tried a new restaurant called Joey Shipyards in the Seaside Hotel in North Vancouver. The views are stunning. It's right on the waterfront at the base of the pier. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. They have upper and lower patios, plus inside seating The decor is beautiful. We love the Shipyards area for the views and events. Now, this restaurant is one extra place to visit. We'll go there again sometime soon. We'd like to try the new hotel there, too.

Gabriella

Food is fantastic, and won't find a better view in the city. The staff are friendly and doing a great job adapting to the requirements of COVID. Love the experience of the JOEY Pay app as well. I don't normally write reviews and my default for a good experience is generally four stars, but the fact that you are taking the time to follow up on the experience is absolutely worth a 5 star review - great job Jesse!

Will tell you ANYTHING to get you to wait. Reservations are meaningless. Terrible value for $. Even with so many staff (looks like there are more of them than patrons) service was sub par. Spend your money supporting other local restaurants. There are quite a few small, nice and better priced places up the street.

10/10 service this evening! Sophie walked us to our table and made sure we felt welcome and taken care of. She even stopped by in the middle of our service to check-in on us! Noah was our server and truly hit every service point and made us feel as though our little date night was an important occasion. The wait time was well worth it for the caliber of service staff and ultimately the experience we had. Thanks again!

Had a wonderful time having dinner at Joeys. With covid things are very spaced out and clean. The staff made it clear where to go and what to do. They went the extra mile and brought us a dessert since it was a special occasion. The food tasted great and would definitely go back again

Definitely overpriced for the quality you get. Perfect place to pretend like you're cool and stuff! I quote our waiter there: "No, I never eat here. That would make no sense!" Not wondering why he said that after I had the food and spent the whole night stomaching it.

The staff at night on weekends are to be cautious of! I'm very close to a line cook who's employed here, he's proven aswell as personally undergoing a horrible experience and a lack of care/professionalism. My friend and I decided to try Joey Shipyards. We made a reservation yesterday (June 15, 2020) for today (June 16, 2020) for 11am, we arrived 5mins early and was asked to wait which is okay as we are early. Once seated the lady that usher us to our seat then tells us that the kitchen will not be opened until 11:30am! Meaning we have to wait for 30mins. So we waited, we have a nice view though as we are seated at the patio area. - the con here is that why approved the reservation when the kitchen will not be open until 11:30?!?! 11:35am our waiter arrived and asked how are we and if we are ready to order. Of course we are, as we are very hungry. Food arrived, I ordered the Prawn + Lobster Ravioli - the sauce is tasty and the prawn is okay though. Didn’t even taste the lobster. This is a small portion too for $30! My friend ordered the Baja Fish Tacos - she didn’t even like the taco bread as it seems raw. The location was great and the view is amazing, our waiter is great though.

Had a great experience last night for a birthday dinner thanks to Hannah (Manager?) who accommodated our party and made our birthdays special. Joeys is definitely behind most other restaurants (Especially the Keg, or Cactus) in terms of doing anything for birthday dinners so it was a nice surprise to have a little birthday message drawn on a plate with little Joeys Bellini shots. Service, food, drinks and atmosphere as always. We are all very disappointed you took away pineapple Juice and the Jungle Bird drink which was by far the best cocktail you had on your menu.

Santiago Thompson

Just some of the best high quality food and fantastic service! Every server and bartender we have had the pleasure of dining with has been attentive and pleasant! Such a great ambiance!

The view is one of the best in the world. Yummy food. Too expensive hence the 4 stars instead of 5. But overall awesome. Good service.

Best place in the Lolo area, friendly staff and excellent service; the menu was very well planned and you can try something different everytime. Wine knowledgeable managers that help recommend based on budget and taste.

Always have a great experience at Joey, great food, great staff. The Shipyards location specifically has been put together very well. Recently had a small billing issue, I contacted the location and was very quickly serviced by a manager named Tiffany. They handled the issue in a timely fashion and were very pleasant to work with. I'll 100% be back again and again. During these times especially, support this great spot!

We had a family dinner for my daughter’s birthday. I told the front desk lady that we are celebrating a birthday. Food was served but cutleries were not clean well… they had to change them. Food was just ok though I fell in love right away with the view and place was great. After dinner, we told the waiter if they do special thing for birthday celebrant and the manager came and explain that they don’t offer complementary dessert for the celebrant but if we buy it they will decorate and write “happy birthday” I was shocked. I realized, I told the lady about the birthday celebration, and we are wondering why no one came and bother to say something so at least we did not have to wait. Its like they completely ignored us. If we were told right away that they are not doing anything for birthday, at least we could have done something and not waited for nothing. Server was not friendly too. Joey’s shipyards… I wish I could even give you a rating lower than 1 coz you don’t deserve any. Totally disappointed!!!

Alena Gillian

Wonderful couple experience we had in Joey Shipyard with their delicious food, great drinks, and fantastic special dessert. The service was 10/10 and our server was a fantastic professional guy named “Owen”. I am really impressed by the professionalism of this guy and his wonderful service. Do recommend this place for making a great moment.

Beyond Outstanding I don’t often get out to North Van, but I sure will be making a point of returning to Joey Shipyard! I met a friend there for lunch and the minute I walked in, it felt like a celebration! I was greeted with a glass of bubbly, immediately setting the mood. Our server said it was built in and a regular thing that they do! (Already, I’m thinking, I’ll be back!) The food was outstanding – loved the guacamole and fresh chips, and my chicken peanut salad was deliciously flavourful. Gotta admit to sharing a few of my friend’s fries and they were perfection. Our server, Robyn, was genuinely attentive, and never once asked us the pat phrases you hear so many times at restaurants these days. The assistant manager checked in with us, and then the manager came over, as well. My friend began to wonder if there was a secret shopper, or maybe someone from corporate, but they assured us that it was nice to engage with positive, happy guests. Anyway, Robyn kindly refilled my bubbly, so I was getting happier by the second, and was having an absolutely terrific time. The view, even in the rain, was enthralling. They have huge windows facing one of the busiest harbours in the world, so there’s always lots going on. At the end of the meal, we were sharing a dessert, and my friend was carefully trying to cut the raspberry in half. “You take the raspberry!” I said, and next thing you know, Robyn had delivered extra raspberries, “No one should be splitting a raspberry!” she exclaimed. I’m still smiling about our delightful experience at Joey Shipyard and I encourage you to try it. I don’t think you can beat the experience we had, but it will be great! Thank you to Brendan Gallagher, modern gallant Assistant GM, Audessa, and Robyn. I had fun at your party.

I guess every fine dining restaurant aims for a top-notch experience. JOEY is one such place that has evolved into an eclectic blend of cuisines and concepts. Exceptional atmosphere , gracious service and detail oriented menu is impressive. Few impressive things *Online and other ways of reservations. While waiting you get a glass of champagne *Escorting services by dedicated n well dressed ushers to your table. *Beautiful servers with extensive knowledge of food and drinks. *Top shelf wines and spirits available. *Escorting patrons to the restrooms if needed, crumbing the table between courses. On the menu u would get $15-20 sauvignon blanc to higher bottles up to $200. In food the small sharing has all kinds of variety n cuisine from gyoza's , nachos , ceviche, soup n sushi. Salads section has fish salad and katsu chicken peanut salad( ah i so wanted to try, would have to go back for it). There is sandwiches and burger section and then mains. Wat i liked the most was the intermixed cultural tastes in the menu. Joey is with the feature and grand space to accommodate big number of people with perfect executive services.

I went to this place with my wife for our anniversary and the place was packed after i told the hostess, she went out of her way to accommodate us. This was one of the best experiences I have had in recent years. Amazing place with a view, incredible food and exceptional service. My experience at Joey Shipyards has forever changed my opinion about this chain. I am absolutely blown away! When I was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday with the family, we were looking for something that is a little bit special, but not extravagant or with too complex a menu since we had our 2 kids with us. Since we live in PoCo, the Joey Coquitlam seemed a good choice, and I resigned myself to birthday dinner being "Just Joeys". In trying to book, I stumbled upon the Shipyard location, and drawn to the prospect of a view with dinner, decided to take a chance on being a walk-in since they were fully booked. After our experience, I can't believe I thought of it as "Just Joeys". I've been to other locations before, but THIS ONE ... this one is a cut above the rest. Despite being a walk-in, we were seated immediately, at a table with a gorgeous view to boot. When asked how my day was going, I said it was my birthday and the host immediately offered some champagne ... I was impressed by the service before we even sat down! At our table, I cannot say enough about the warm, personable service offered to us by Chloe. She listened to what we were saying and was quick with knowledgeable suggestions about the menu, insider tips (like keeping the gyoza sauce for fries later!), happy to run to make changes to the order last-minute, and she was quick-witted and had us joking around in no time, totally winning over my teenagers (a feat in itself!). She took such good care of us the whole night. There were several other staff members delivering food and clearing dishes throughout the night, and every single one had a warmth and professionalism that we could pick up even in those short interactions. The manager, Alex, popped over towards the end of our meal, got chatting to us and revealed himself to be another phenomenal asset to the Joey group. We felt compelled to mention our incredible experience with the staff and the restaurant, and he was kind enough to offer me a complimentary cocktail. It was completely unexpected, but just the cherry on top of a great night. At the end of the night, Chloe delivered the bill, and then proceeded to thank US for being so nice to them! I mean ... I pointed out that WE were the ones feeling special and spoiled by them, but that humility coming from her was touching. The food - it was all good. The Gyoza and Spicy Cauliflower appies were highlights, with the mains of Baja Tacos, Miso Ramen Bowl, Peanut Bowl, and a burger being dependable good meals. The Salted Caramel Pot de Crème we had for dessert was the star of the night, with wildly inappropriate sounds being made while we indulged, lol. It's up there in the "best desserts I've ever had" category. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to everyone at Joey Shipyards for making this a birthday celebration to remember! You have a customer for life.

Excellent location for this trendy neuvo restaurant. A varied, tasty and imaginative menu that covers a wide array of cuisine styles. A creative bar with a staff of skilled mixologists who render their own and classic creations. A broader wine selection would be welcome but what they have covers most dining experiences.

Best located restaurant in metro Vancouver. This would be my go to to show anyone the beauty of where we live. The views are first class and the food is excellent. The hummus and cauliflower bites are a must for appetizer. The blackened chicken is my favourite. Come for the food and the amazing views. The patio is excellent and the views from the second floor are even better. Day or night you can’t go wrong here.

Food and service were very good definitely a recommend for any and everyone . ..it would have been nicer to sit out on the patio that was the only disappointing thing the wait was 2 hours

Got the sushi sandwich for take out which costed 17$. Compared to the local sushi restaurants you could get a lot more for less. However the burgers were a much better value and had great taste.

October 2021 Update: tried to walk in to Joey Shipyards at about 10pm last night for one last drink. There were multiple lounge tables open (could see about 5). We were told by the hostess that it was only possible to sit in the dining area (again at 10pm) and it would be a 45 minute wait. Apparently nothing has changed. The concept seems simple.. the restaurant is open, there are tables available, you sit down. I will continue to make updates every time this happens from now in hope that someone will do something about this because we really do enjoy it here in the off chance they let us sit down in the half empty restaurant. The guest services manager Nina responded to my initial review below. I then emailed her to provide the details she wanted followed by no reply back from her. Stanby for next update of Joey Shipyards turning away customers for no reason. I really hope it’s not to appear busy from the outside. June 2021 We have been here a significant amount of times.. great food, good service. However we were just told there was a 45 minute wait for the patio. We had to wait 15 mins to come sit upstairs to an empty lounge. As we looked out at the patio there were a total of 2 tables occupied. I know they don’t offer many reservations so its very difficult to understand what’s happening here. After 45 minutes of starring at the empty patio we asked our server if we could move out. She went and made the request with the hostess but the answer was still a 45 minute wait... still nobody out there. Upon leaving I notified the manager, he gave his apologies and said he’d look into it. I very rarely write bad reviews, but this has happened on multiple occasions now.

Well organized amid the virus situation. Call ahead to book a time to avoid the lineup outside. Food is great and location is prime. Patio is open now (social distancing meadures in order). Free parking on 1st Ave.

Didn't have a good experience there. I was charged a regular rate during happy hour. Also, since I was alone and sat at a table I was constantly rushed to leave. I didn't need a huge table but they sat me there. The waiter seemed really eager to quickly clean my table. I barely sat there for more than 30minutes. I was just planning to sit and relax for an hour. I doubt they will miss my business. But if you single go sit at the bar and double check your bill.

Maureen Wilson

The food is always great, but we were a disappointed that the clear dividers between the booths have been removed. Given this latest covid wave we are entering, we will have to reconsider eating here again for a while.

Nathan Chan

Lovely waterfront facing restaurant. Food is nice and decent. We ordered veg burger, fish taco, crispy chicken sandwish and salmon sushi. They allot you a maximum two hours for seating. Would love to visit again!

We had our anniversary dinner there last night and oh my goodness it was the best experience of my life. Our server Sabrina was so kind and we had a great time chatting and laughing with her. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening special. There is no better view in all of Vancouver than the one at this JOEY. It was like walking through a Christmas movie, and our entire night was magical walking through the waterfront, sitting by the fire, watching the city lights twinkle over the water. The food was exquisite. We both had the lobster and steak ravioli and they let you choose what kind of cut as well as the usual choice of done-ness. We felt like celebrities! And the chocolate lava cake was over the top amazing. Fabulous evening at a fantastic restaurant, and, I believe, the best restaurant in the greater Vancouver area. Will absolutely make this our go-to place!

George Agopian

Everything is great about this place. 2 things I didn't like one is their beer selection is not great, I talked with so many people and they all had the same complaint and the other thing is their wines are extremely expensive. I believe one time I have to pay over 20 dollars for a 9 ounce of red wine. Also not a great selection of single malt scotch. But great view, food is good, staff are nice.

Harp Kaur

We were working in the area for a couple months and eventually tried this place. We wished we tried it sooner! Service was fantastic and extremely efficient. The menu is interesting and innovative. We had a table of 10, and tables of 6 repeatedly. The food was excellent and service was great every time. Thank you for giving us such a great experience!!!

Andrew

Only been the once, but it was hard to fault as an experience. Absolutely *stunning* view from the upper patio, easily amongst the best available in the city, and it's what separates this location from other similar eateries. It's a destination in and of itself because of that patio/view. I've learned to have moderated expectations for the food at major chains but our meals were delicious, both appetizer and main course. High quality ingredients, cooked extremely well. Only caveat is that the place is clearly incredibly popular and it's probably an absolute war getting seating on the patio during typical mealtime hours, but "too popular" is a problem most restaurants would be happy to have.

Dean Santos

Nice free complementary Champagne and that was about it. Came for the my birthday dinner, drinks and appetizers were fast and good. The server forgot about our plates and utensils for the appetizers and when she realized it she bought out the wrong number of plates, some of my guest had to share with their partners because we were short one. She came by very infrequently and when she did come she rush and never full waiting for the table to answer. Never offer to refill water or anything; It wasn’t even that busy and came at 10pm so don’t understand why every thing took so long and why service is so bad. Entire took 60 minutes and arrive and it was cold, the steak was overcooked. Servers didn’t seemed keen on providing good service and sounded annoyed when I asked about our main. Waitstaff seemed more interested flirting with each other than providing decent service. Honestly, worst birthday dinner ever! Did even eat much if my meal because it was cold and unappetizing. Felt bad for taking my guests to such a disappointing restaurant.

Christopher Prevey

JOEY Shipyards service, food, and location are unreal. The location by the pier has a beautiful view of the city. The food was amazing and quick! The heated patio was perfect for the weather. The service was honestly 10/10. Alex and Brian were going above and beyond for us and did everything they could to make our friend's birthday the best she ever had. Definitely check out Joey's and if you're lucky enough to meet Alex and Brian enjoy the best dinner ever.

We definitely don’t go to joeys to be wowed as our experiences there have been mediocre at best; but decided to give it another try on a recent lunch break. Was seated at a high top near the bar and ignored for a solid 15 minutes. Watching 5 different servers walk past our table without any acknowledgement of our existence kinda killed my appetite. Would have loved to have spoken to manager before we left but they equally as hard to find as a server. The one star is for the lovely host who seated us, otherwise would not recommend.

Hands down the best Baja Fish Tacos in town! A modern grand ambience and impeccable service will leave you wanting to go back and take your friends and family. I really liked their lounge style seating upstairs. The Watermelon Drink is a must try on the cocktails menu. ;)

Fantastic restaurant. They gave us a complementary glass of sparkling wine. I am always impressed with Joeys marketing. The servers were Friendly and efficient. The food tasted fantastic. I have yet to be disappointed with any meal at Joeys. We will go back again and again. Keep up the excellent work.

There for happy hour. From that HO menu, the burger is just OK. French fries better.

Fish tacos have virtually no fish. It's 90% batter. Manager response was that "too bad it wasn't the way we like it". It's not about how we like it, it's a fish taco not a vegetarian taco with a sprinkle of fish, put some fish in it. Better yet, just across the way is Pier7, and they actually have large pieces of fish in they're fish taco. The manager's name is Chelsea and instead of acknowledging the customers complaint she turned it back on us as if the problem was how we like food.

A wonderful sunday! After a really tired trip around! We decided to choice this restaurant to have lunch. A host arranged an outside table for our group. First impression are staff, fully skilled with helpful and welcoming. Menu are really exceptional! All type of food seem delicious and nutritional. Decoration for all dishes was really perfect. On the way to second floor, i passed a kitchen, the staff are professional with uniform and skill. Price for all type of food is quite ok. Not really hight. I suggest you to choice salmon vegetables salad, so fresh and nutritional.

The taste is amazing. It is expensive but worth the taste. My recommendations would be Chicken Parmesan, Rib eye( that's pricey) and Bacon Cheddar Burger. Their Italian Donuts are spongy and rich in taste.

Great atmosphere, location and for sure delicious food! Sliders 10/10 Spaghetti 10/10 Classic steak 10/10 Even their coke 10/10 ???? Definitely will come again!

Always a 10/10 . Amazing steak and seafood and the drinks are strong and tasty. Great view and location. One of my favourite Joeys locations.

Great atmosphere, great location...great staff... But Browns has better food ???? The appt was great Szechuan lettuce wrap with prawns...mmm... Damn good. Mom had the beef dip, said the Dijon mustard overpowered the taste and she couldn't see any onions. I had the butter chicken, half a naan, and the sauce was far too sweet and tomatoie... (Is that a word). Dessert included the Butter ckae, damn good, and the donuts, damn good... Lol I'd go again trying something different...

Update: my initial experience was definitely a one off. I was just not lucky with the hostess I guess. I go there frequently and received the best service The new snobbiest place in town. Would love to try the food...mAybe when the hostess welcome me in a proper way

Unbelievable how that’s not a management policy at this place. We went there on Sunday, and the restaurant was very empty. Inside about 30% and the patio 70%. We saw at least 4 tables empties at the patio. We stepped in , asked for a table and the host told us that at least 30’ in a waiting list. We asked about inside and he said “the same”. They were over staffed because lots of them were gathered around the host station.. are they lazy or they don’t care about the business/their jobs. I think the problem is bigger. It’s management.

It was a great experience at this location! Friendly staff made a difference during the waiting time ( 20 minutes). Amazing menu with good craft beer options.

TERRIBLE music. Expensive red wine was cold. Staff really nice though. Our server was really nice and explained music choice dictated by Joey himself. Brutal.

The restaurant is pretty luxurious with the a good customer service that I have experienced. But I was witnessed that some staff were pretty rude with some people who deliver food... I hope this type of behaviour ends, because we are all equal and have the right to get treated equally whatsoever.???? Thank you ????

Food is good as always, staff doing good work with keeping up with protocols. They are having some technology problems, our server had to rotate out iPads at least 4 times while taking our order and paying out bill.

We were invited to the soft opening of the new Joey Shipyards in North Vancouver. We were met with a very friendly atmosphere filled with smiles and warmth. We were sat down with champagne in hand and appetizers to keep our bellies satiated. Despite the busy atmosphere due to the nature of the event, it was controlled and well executed. The front of house was on point to make sure all patrons were cared for and looked after. The back of house was lit. Communicating, supporting and firing on all cylinders. Our sever was kind and attentive. She explained the menu well and made us feel welcomed. We ordered the non alcoholic She Pretty and sangria for drinks, for starters we ordered the ceviche and truffle/parm fries, for entrée we ordered the chicken parmesan and Bombay butter chicken, and for dessert we ordered the duo of donuts and molten lava cake paired with their latte's. The she pretty and sangria were delicious. Not over lowering in any of the palette profiles and wonderfully chilled. The rose water in she pretty was subtle but present. The ceviche was well balanced between texture and flavor as was the truffle and parm fries. The chicken parm was delicious. Perfectly cooked and coated. The pasta was al denté and the tear drop tomatoes are wonderfully delicious. The Bombay butter chicken was great. The rice was well cooked and paired with seasoning and peas. The bread was well cooked and paired really well with the seasoning. The butter chicken itself was smooth and wonderful in flavor. The molten lava cake was delicious. The lava flowed out perfectly, and the temperature was perfect. Paired with the rasberrry and ice cream and it just hit it right home. Add the latte, and now we're talking. The duo of donuts were fluffy, and perfectly sprinkled with the sugar coating. The sauce is what makes it that much better. Overall the experience was extremely positive. The location may not be as ideal due to parking, but it is in close proximity to the quay and waterbus. Despite these minor things, the experience more than made up for it. The real test is if this level of service, atmosphere and quality remains well into their launch, and longevity of the location. I surely hope so!

I came with my friend to this "very vancouver", chic and well known JOEY restaurant and bar located at the pier in North Van and my friend asked for the patio. The host was very kind to say that due the waiting list they had, we could leave our name and phone number and as soon as there's one available we'd receive a message. Well, that happened fast as we're enjoying a nice summer walk at the pier. Once back, Patrick (staff) took us to the brand new patio section that recently opened this summer and it's just cozy. He (Patrick) introduced us to Brian (server) who take good care of us and just to make the time fun, we started with their signature sangria; that never disappoints and seems to be equally prepared at every JOEY'S you go. To match the cocktails, we ordered the "Korean Fried Cauliflower " as a starter to later order the "Californian Chicken Club" and the "Blackened Chicken" as entrés. Portions are quite generous (served in platters) so we couldn't finish them but the taste is pleasurably good. JOEY SHIPYARDS in North Van is a place to go this summer. My advice, please request a table at their new patio if available. The service, the location and the menu (regular or happy hour) will make you spend a good time. PERIOD

The place is awesome, food is amazing, service is phenomenal and the view is stunning! 100% recommended!

Amazing location! Food was amazing, service was also amazing! Incredibly attentive waitress! AND we were offered bubbly for our walk to the table as soon as we walked into the restaurant! I could not have felt more posh!

The food falls short of what I expect it to be. The steak can medium instead of medium-rare and wasn’t rested long enough. The peppercorn sauce was on the sweet side and only came with a little bit. The blacken chicken was tough and dry. The salmon was way over cooked. The worst was the salty molten lava cake. So salty it was uncomfortable. However, I will say that the service was excellent. The server was so patient and accommodating. The crispy mashed potatoes were divine and I heard that their regular mash was tasty as well. Still a disappointment for the price point.

Such a great location for the folks on the NShore, something that we’ve needed for a long time. Don’t get me wrong, I love Raglan’s Bistro, but sometimes you want to level up the experience. On sunny days, the upstairs bar and patio are a hidden gem, which is what I’ve focused my review on. Talk to Abe the bartender and he’ll set you up. If the timing and weather line up for you, the sunset will be amazing. As for the food, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. I’m partial the chicken parmesan pasta paired with a glass of the Burrowing Owl…but the sliders and a pint of House of Funk’s Italian Pilsner is also a win. Enjoy!

I like Joey’s food but service is slow here and they burnt the gyoza I don’t know how you can even do that! The bathroom had no paper towel and the server kept holding her mask right at her mouth the hole time she would talk to you kinda nasty when she’s touching your plate too.

I have been to Joey Shipyards so often that I feel right at home! The ambiance, the food and the view are great. The staff is super friendly and goes the extra mile to make your visit memorable. It is worth it to mention that I have been to other Joey's locations, and even though they are not bad, Joey Shipyards it's the best!

Nishu Sidhu

Visited on a Tuesday Happy Hour. Food was great, prices reasonable, excellent service. I had not yet been to this location. The layout and decor is fabulous! We sat up on the second floor which was nice. If you are lucky enough to sit out on the patio the view is wonderful! Will definitely go again.
