REVIEWS OF Cheshire Cheese Restaurant & Bar IN North Vancouver

Had a delicious burger and fries. On the patio. Great views. Friendly prompt staff

It was nice to find this standalone restaurant at Lonsdale Quay slightly tucked away. I am a fan bar food, English fish & chips almost as much as I love pho noodles. I am sure there are many more restaurants to try on the north shore but I …

Gina Sauer

Great food, great location. The wait staff was kind of scattered and disorganized but the service was great.

Justin Turner

Great food. Prices too high. Terrible service, just snotty little brat type servers. Eventually the manager took over and reversed my experience in that end. Food was great but my photo is a $30 plate. Should be $16 max for this.

Richard Campbell

Food was great as always. This last time, uncharistically, our server was not up to par. That won't keep us from going back many times again. The parking was as ever, poor and, now, no longer accessable from west-bound. The entrance is unmarked from more than bout 15 metres, hidden just beside a marked corporate parking lot and a real fender eater of a turn as you get over the sidewalk.

Hamed Pouriayevali

Salmon burger was awesome! Friendly service ????

Jessica Sharks

No cheese? Thought this would be a cool cheese place ended up being a mediocre restaurant. Ordered a burger and fries and it had no flavor. Un impressive for what everything cost. Bangers and mash were as you would expect. However the thai chicken bites were top tier. Flavorful. Not breaded. So so so good.

Jesmina Biserovic

yummy curry seafood -scallops, halibut, prawns-(curry & ???? I know, but it works!) & awesome view/location ????

Dillon

Housemade burgers were Excellent, deserts were a absolute Treat.

This place is huge, lots of seating inside or out. I love their ocean view patio. Even inside you can get a window seat with drool worthy views of the ocean , shipyards and Vancity across the water . The service is good and lots of pages to their menu. They need to step up gluten free options ...an easy fix to have gluten free bread and buns but after years of going here they dont seem to care to do this for a huge segment of the population . I go back and eat the same thing over and over as gluten free is not an option . A burger is not a burger ...without a bun Great place but need to step that up . They took away a favorite ...poutine ...ugh so sad .

It was a beautiful day today, but it was ruined when I got the bill. They added 15% service tax to the bill. They didn't tell me that even when they using the pos machine, still have the extra tip option at the end. I don't want to talk …

Location was pretty good near the water, but drinks were not great. I hope they would hire a nice bartender.

Dave Moody

Decent pan fried oysters. Good service. Tends to cater to older crowd. Selection of beers could be better.

Sharon Esson

Was able to enjoy a meal with 3 of us. Lots of distancing happening but staff very attentive. Food was yummy as usual and large portions. We'll be back.

Alessandro Grunwald

Lovely service. Great food at reasonable prices. Beautiful view of the harbour. What else can you ask for!?

Ali Sig

The Cheshire Cheese has friendly staff, a various menu that caters to everyone, amazing views, and a cozy atmosphere. Christmas decorations are up as well! Would definitely recommend.

Ryan McLeod

My last experience was not a 5 star experience, the waitress was not as attentive as I would like. Wanted a liquor drink and waited about 20 min to order it. But overall I love this place. They have tons of regulars and friendly staff. The …

Terrible Service!!! We've been to this restaurant before and loved it...they are very understaffed and the waitress we had treated us like we were a pain in the *%$#. All rush rush and heavy sighs and eye-rolls....it wasn't just us either, heard her at the tables next to us as well...while I sympathize with a server who is being given to many customers to deal with, I think the way this one took it out on us was really uncool. We'll probably go back one day when the bitterness wears off but we were really put off. If you're reading this Mngmnt.....do something....you're going to lose customers.

angelene comeau

Nice view. Waiter was friendly and prompt. The seafood was terribly over cooked. TERRIBLY OVERCOOKED! Tasted like it was frozen, then microwaved, then boiled in wine. Shame on the cook for ruining beautiful seafood. I even had a burnt piece of toast. Who eats burnt food chef? My husband had farmed salmon with dried out over cooked partially burned scallop. Their salmon is farmed... I will never recommend this restaurant and I will never go again. Something is wrong with this world if we Canadians can’t eat a decent meal of wild Canadian salmon, scallops or shrimp! Their scallops came from New Zealand! Seriously! So disappointed. ????

James DeMello

Great food. Great service. Great prices. Laura, our server, was super knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. A hidden gem!

Keith

I love this restaurant! Friendly, prompt service with nice views of the docks. Food is always great with a good selection of drinks! I always have a good visit with friends and family at the Cheshire Cheese!

Susan Wale

Never disappointed. Nice staff, attentive and well served. Good hearty food and vegan option. Nice outside patio.

farren gillaspie

The staff are great. We have lunch there almost every week for 20 years. The manager, Louisa is awesome. Food consistently good.

anjali pillai

Excellent customer service and tasty food. Loved the vegetarian options and the salmon. Will go again !!

Keith Gillis

Food was good, and they were very accommodating for our large group (close to 20 people) on short notice. Our waitress was very good natured and did a great job dealing with such a large party.

Leslye Brown

Very good food, gorgeous view, reasonable prices and not crowded. Service was friendly and fast! Will be back! Summer looks like it would be great on the deck!

Nolera May

The food was decent, limitedly. My friend and I dropped by after I finished my job interview in the area hoping for a quick bite or two. Unfortunately, the waitress was inattentive and once we were paying, the woman taking our money was incredibly rude. He was kind enough to leave her a small tip but if it were me I would have given them nothing. Not recommended.

Yesterday was not our day. We went for dinner with friends , all started nicely, great and with a very professional waitress , delicious dirty martinis , but when food came to table , our prime ribs , two of us asked the same dish, the beef was , we believe, not in good condition due to the strange flavour. We informed and waitress said chef or manager were able to come to talk to us, but unfortunately they did not appear. They did not support the waitress. Fortunately they did not charge us for these two dishes. I guess they lost 4 regular customers

K9 ADVCRU

Came for the Vancouver dine out special French onion soup, beef stuffed Yorkshire pudding and apple crumble! Was delightful and will come back again!

Prashant Agrawal

It used to be good One star for the smiling servers One star for the fish pie

Laura Miller

Beautiful patio. Lovely serving staff. I had the Ciopinno dish, and it was full to the brim with seafood and a yummy tomato sauce. My boyfriend had the shepard's pie which was massive and came with both fries and salad. He quite enjoyed it. Will go back for sure.

Ako “Aqua” M

It takes a time to get a server, but foods are amazing

Dylan Hartley

Great English-style restaurant. Very fair prices and a beautiful location.

Anda Bosnea

Melanie was very nice and pleasant. She helped us feel welcome and comfortable during a small celebration of our friend's 50th birthday. The food tasted and looked great and the view put the cherry on our cake ????????

Braughn Gavin

Staff was very polite, outside seating was beautiful, COVID procedures followed very well. Plus, the best food I've had in North Van in a long time!

KOCHANSKI V P

SUPER NICE AND QUEIT PATIO, VERY RELAXING! MENU IS GREAT!

Sam Ferris

What a great place! I can’t believe we didn’t know about this place sooner. My husband had the prime rib, I had an appetizer and salad. Loved the food....tasty, fresh, great value. And what a cute restaurant. It was cozy and warm, with some very friendly servers running around making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Yay! We were here in the winter but I understand they have a great patio on the water for summer months. What a great find. We’ll be back! Me for the trifle (apparently, one of the only places who has it?), and my husband for the happy hour ($4 drinks!).

David Gloyn-Cox

Nice simple pub with good fare. I'm a long time patron.

Linda Brown

Had lunch today with two very good friends out on the patio. Our waiter, Adam, made our whole afternoon delightful. Thank you Adam for all your professionalism and humour. The food was fantastic also. Linda from Delta

Mindy Ambrose

Extremely hot environment but they turned the heat down for us. Very comfortable bistro type atmosphere and friendly staff with excellent, high-value happy hour drinks. Most of the patrons were elderly.

Dan A

Awful, 45 minute wait for subpar food, filled up half a glass of my drink and we still paid in full, steak was burnt and everything else had absolutely no flavour, go somewhere else for dinner. Edit: the waiter also spilled our drinks on us.

Ksenia Obolenskaya

Receiving a drink with someone's else lipstick on it is not the experience you want , especially during Covid times. I received strange explanation that sometimes" it's hard to clean glasses from lipstick" ! What?? Restaurantss absolutely must wash dishes properly!!! Also half of menu is not available and they don't tell you until you start ordering.

Starleigh Grass

Nice view, good service, British pub vibe. Kind of pricey but the food is a good quality so worth it now and then.

Black Fox

Great setting. Good food. Had steak and kidney pie. Filling was very good. Nice chunks of beef in a savoury broth with just the right amount of salt for me. The top was a bit disappointing as it was thin and doughy but overall a good meal. I would order it again. The price point was good...around $17.

Monique Young

Servings much too small. Nachos $15 came on a side plate. Other restaurants charge$3 more and it is a platter. A rip off really. Won't eat there again

Marissa Martha

Lamb curry was flavorful and filling! Will definitely order it again!

Carl Stymiest UE (Budd)

One of my most favourite restaurants to have a meal. Located on 3nd floor of the Lonsdale Quay Market.

Elaine

Server took a while to get our drinks and it was not busy at all. My friend asked for the fries with his meal and got a salad. The food was really good though! I got the salmon and tasted really fresh. Great view if you sit outside.

Helen Edley

I take my Dad here for a meal every time I visit and it's consistently good. We both love the UK meals and they never disappoint. Thank you!

Robyn Holliday

Horrible customer service, cheap seafood, and small portions. The food and hospitality have tanked. Family favorite of over 20 years to never stepping foot in there again.

Brad Trenaman

Great food at a reasonable price with an awesome view. One of our fave spots for dinner whether it's with family or friends.

Bone

Good service but really bad food. Tiger prawn starter was weird, came with green peppers and tomatos cooked in water. Not good at all. I also ordered a steak rare. Came to me over medium. I got $7 off on the bill. I won't be back

Lindsay Towns

I ate here about a year ago as an anniversary dinner after finding all other restaurants in the area packed to the gills. Although service was excellent, the food is okay at best and the drinks were not very good at all. We had a bit of …

Graham Hughes

Aah, the toad in the hole British meal is my all time favourite. The portion is generous and salways top notch.

Chris Ouimet

Fantastic meals, we had the Toad Pie and the Shepherd's Pie. Great view of the waterfront and excellent service. We look forward to returning!

Brad Best

I am very impressed with your establishment and dissapointed that your Kerrisdale and Dunbar Locations are now both closed......and Lonsdale Quay is the only Location.......It is very hard to find a traditional British Pub in this part of the world.... the servers are friendly and that is the nature of a British Pub.....Wonderful fish and chips, and Love the pot pies and seasonal menus......I was there for Valentines Day two days ago and ordered the salmon fettuccine Alfredo but your staff recommended the Valentines special which included a prawn and scallop pasta and Chocolate Lava Cake....telling customers about specials is very important.... Love your wine selection..... Keep up the great work

Ross Rykyta

I have been going here for lunch when going to Lonsdale Quay for many years. The food is always good and the choice of seating is varied with outdoors available. Prices are reasonable with good size portions.

Amin Sameni

Cons: The food is not really good. You pay almost $30 for a dry, not tasty, hard to bite small piece of halibut which is not great …

Jaycine Johns

Had the best service and the best food! Specials are great, and the staff there are just so funny and kind!

Third Wheel

North Vancouver's best hidden gem for sure! The customer service was top notch and they had a large variety of seafood dishes. (Which I love.) I decided on the grilled seafood salad with the cucumber yogurt dressing. Will definitely go back for it! And to top it off, they have a gorgeous patio over looking the inlet.

**Would give no stars if that was an option** This place ruined my mother's birthday. Where do I start. I called the place and made a reservation for my mother's birthday. We were looking forward to celebrating it, as one usually is on a birthday. To start off, a very rude server refused to serve me alcohol, even though I had my ID on me, she kept repeating the same thing like a robot-that she would get fined if she did not see two pieces of ID. I explained that it was my driver's licence, I am 22 years old, it was my mother's birthday but she didnt give a single f... I asked to speak with a manager, she called her coworker who repeated the exact same thing. We decided to stay as it was too late to go somewhere else. The server was clearly displeased, as she ignored my mom's order completely, pretended she did not hear it, as well as my request to not put cranberries on the salad, as I am allergic to them. Overall awful experience. Prices are super high for not-such-a-great food, we paid $80 for three things, two of them being appies. DO NOT go to this place, waste of money and time.

Play 4 Moon

Fisherman pie is so yummy, so does special coffee!! The salad with the cucumber dill is refreshing!!! Excellent service and definitely will come back.

BC Field Technician

I returned just for the dessert but the seafood Cioppino was good as well. They even spiced it up a bit for me! The ginger dessert is amazing of course!

Samantha Delayed

Ok, so let me just tell you right now I love this place, I have loved it for years but I haven't been in a while because of covid. They still have extra delicious food, and friendly employees. A great place to have lunch with friends and catch up. And the views are awesome as well! A Lonsdale Quay highlight.

V K

This place has sooooo much potential. As an expat, i was delighted to see they offered snakebite, shandy, & lager & lime on the drinks menu. Some pub classics. I also loved that they offered trifle! The vibe was somewhere between an English …

Curtis Johnson

We have been at here a number of times over the years and have always found top notch food and service. We are going there tonight with friends to celebrate Sharon's Birthday.

Ronnie Scott

Had a lovely lunch outside in the sun, the food was nice, it's not badly priced and the views are great. Service can be a little less than warm at times, but generally efficient.

Geri P

Food was awesome service not so good. Not sure if the server was new but just did not make use of her movements around the place. Had to ask for cutlery when our meals were in front of us, we were told several times it was busy, but tables in other sections arrived after us and were served, ate and left before we received our food.

Cameron Zainali

The food was good here and so was the service. The only issue I had was that the entertainment coupon. You don't get a free meal because there is no meal under $15 So you're forced to pay something for the second meal.

Carly Marciniak

The food was delicious, the drinks were great, service was prompt... maybe too prompt. Our server would get impatient when taking our orders (for a large group) and would walk away half way through taking orders if not everyone was …

Angela Jeffery

Cute pub/ restaurant in the Quay. Good food and nice staff. They had live music tonight. They were talented and good volume. The Fisherman's pie and Steak and kidney pie will have us back many times.

Spoke Spurr

Erin had the West Coast salad with added blackened salmon. Swapped out the cream dressing for black bean dressing. Top marks for her meal. Very nicely done. My 2 piece cod and chips…the cod was done perfectly! Crunchy batter, moist fish. …

Stuart Leishman

We have been customers here for many years. Unfortunately the quality of the food is deteriorating. Specifically the steak and kidney pies. Each visit seems to bring less meat and more gravy. I will try them once more and if there is no improvement we will find another restaurant! January 2019. It is now several months later and we decided to try the Restaurant again. I ordered the steak and kidney pie and they seem to have got their act together. Lots of meat and kidney, a delicious pie.

Hugh Behroozy

A British feel with some above average food! Definitely loved the eggs Benny here, very yummy brunch.

Cam Palacios

Good food, good atmosphere, good service. Would recommend :) Not many vegetarian options, but the veggie burger I had was great!

Roger Parrish

This is a terrific restaurant. My Wife and I had several wonderful lunches here. My favorite as the Fish and Chips with the extra piece of fish added. My Wife really enjoyed the Hot French Dip Sandwich. The service is outstanding. The older gentleman waiter has been there for thirty years. He actually seems to anticipate his clients needs and wants. The Cheshire Cheese Restaurant was a fun, festive, and delightful place to have lunch.

GWoo

Food and service was good. Not a place to go if you are on a tight budget.

Roberto Gonzalez-Milroy

Great atmosphere, food, staff and views. Right in the quay amongst many options for tourists and locals to enjoy. Would recommend

NIKU SIDHU

Wonderful location except I was there on a rainy day. Food portions smaller than expected.

Peter Bielefeld

Horrible. Tomas Alba has already commented on our night. I was the other person that ordered the Prime rib that had gone bad. Our spouses ordered different meals, and enjoyed them. Our waitress was great. She was friendly and exhuberant. Both my Prime Rib and Thomas's were off. I tried 2 different pieces of mine, and my wife also took a small piece, just to confirm it wasn't just me. I politely informed our waitress, and she said a manager or chef would come and see us. This never happened. I am sure she informed the manager, as our 2 Prime Rib dinners were not on our bill. It was a busy night and we sat and watched our spouses eat their meals, with our barely touched dinners in front of us. This was after our waitress was informed. Eventually, a different server came and removed our plates from the table. Our waitress came by, and sheepishly asked if we wanted to order something else. Tomas and I both had lost our appetites, so we declined. The bill was brought to us, minus the 2 Prime Rib dinners. Our waitress apologized for the food. No one in management came over, apologized,.....nothing. It was all left to the very busy server. I find this the most disturbing part of our experience. No one cared, other than our server. I will not return.

Jeremy Hunting

Melanie was our server. She was great! Awesome food! Highly recommend it! I definitely will be back!

Reid Chamberlain

Nice location at Lonsdale Quay with nice views. Good food and friendly staff.

Victor Bustamante Alarcon

Very good place with excellent view, i have visited this place for years and never disappoints me, the manager is excellent open to hear any suggestion, with a very friendly staff, Francesca, Lisa the best. 100% recommendable

Michael Swanson

I've been to Cheshire Cheese a bunch of times. Sometimes just to get some drinks, sometimes for meals - and even to celebrate important events (like St Pat's). There's never been a bad experience, although I sometimes step back from overflowing compliments because of little trip ups here or there. I have a long history with British-style pub food and I will say that I do like the menu and the tastes at the Cheshire Cheese. The menu has a nice selection and the tastes match up to what I'm hoping for from the dishes. By the way, the patio is great to sit on in the summer. It can be quite busy but if you can get a table there's good views and a nice time to be had. The staff has always been pleasant. They have done good work for the customers (myself included) and I've seen that they make their regulars very happy. I don't want to bring down the staff, because they work hard and do well, but at the rush times that I've seen they are at their limits - or maybe just beyond. They have been pleasant and it looks like they are doing their best - but "very busy" shows, and sometimes there are waits to get meals or top ups or move orders forward. I do like the place, and I can say many good things about it. The only bad thing I can say is that the size of it doesn't always mesh with the number of servers. The prices meet lower Lonsdale and Quay amounts (not exactly my fave, but kind of expected). The food is good, the room is bright, the location is great. A nice stop if you want to skip a couple of Seabuses and have some fun. Also a good place to bring a larger group of people. But the best experiences are when you meet the shoulders of the peak times. When the staff breathe a sigh of relief and a bunch of tables are cleaned, you do know there's that much more for you.

Steve McEneany

One of our most favorite eateries in North Vancouver. Really really great English food. Great beer. We often go just for a plate of proper English chips. Eat outside and enjoy the view.

D Jorden

Many English pub favorites with a warm comfort food quality. Daily specials includes great turkey dinners on Sunday nights. Easy to become a local favorite. $$; friendly servers. Clean relaxed atmosphere.

C. Y.

Good food, good drinks, nice location, independent restaurant. We have had the prime rib, shepherds pie, spinach omelette and beef dip over a couple visits. All were very good. Staff is friendly and efficient, although they seem a bit understaffed. Will return for sure. Recommended.

Joanne Noble

Food was very good but really in the end our bill was shockingly expensive. I originally thought the waiter must have made a mistake but no, with the automatic 18% tip he added that was our bill. Will not be going again.

Linda Taylor

Horrible service. Server waited on people seated after us, then never returned after food was delivered by someone else. Had to chase her down for the check, then she didn't bring it until we asked a second time, then was hostile about us asking!! Food was lousy. Don't bother, there are so many better places to go. Find them!

R R

Went in and sign said to seat yourself. It was a Tuesday evening, about 30-40 mins before closing. Trying to be considerate, I looked around for a table that would avoid bumping my chair into another, and I wanted to sit by the window. There was no line up and there was barely anyone left in the market that would come into this place. After I sat down, took off my coat, server was about 4-5 feet behind me and asked how many. I said for one. She proceeded to loudly and rudely demand that I go find another table. Almost argumentative. Poor service as she should have come to my table instead of yelling behind me within clear earshot of other customers! Needless to say I did not stay. I've never been demeaned before in my life. Do not recommend this place at all.

Jeni Krimmer

Great atmosphere and the lamb curry was awesome. The staff was so friendly... I will be back for sure!

Julia Williams

We had seafood appetizers and meals. Wonderful food. Excellent friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Good view. We will be back.

British Knight

A great location on the waterfront. Good selection of British style foods on the menu. Prices reasonable. Had the seafood clubhouse with salad, disappointed in amount of seafood and amount of the salad would not order again. Roast beef dip was average. Stick to the British items that you can't get anywhere else.

Rob Ireland

Good food, Guinness on tap, reasonably priced and a friendly staff that makes you feel at home. Why do dishes?

Denise Maga

Went here for the first time to celebrate my husbands birthday. The service was ok but the food was terrible. I ordered the halibut which the server suggested to me. It was completely over cooked and tasted like rubber. It was inedible. It was served with what tasted and looked like day old rice and over cooked and greasy veggies. Beautiful location but terrible food.

Ayla Hoeve

It was amazing. The calamari is really good, not too greasy. And the drinks were amazing. Very good.

Gursimran Gursimran

Food was okey but price was high and the server was rude, we gave her tip and she gave it back to us and said the amount of tip was not “a tip”. Bad experience

Jennifer Klotz

Fantastic!!! The view, the food, the service....wow!!! We are working in North Vancouver and ate here last night and tonight - fabulous! Great service from Christian and Cathy! Will definitely be back!

P D

Good food, great service. The quesidilla was delicious.

Eileen McAdam

Love this place! British pub style restaurant on 2nd floor of Lonsdale Quay. Good food, friendly service, great views, incredible patio. Weekend brunch, lunch with friends or meet the family for dinner ... this is the place to go!

Bailey Peterson

I came in last week, and had a great experience. The onion soup was delicious, and my server (I think her name was Alexus) was an absolute delight. Very good at her job, friendly, extremely fast service. overall an enjoyable dinner.

Janet Glionna

We attended this restaurant end of Sept. 2021 and it was our worst ever experience! The clams were spoiled, the quiche tasteless with tiny cannnd shrimp in it and the $30.00 prine rib was not prime rib. It was thin, tough and the "au jus" was ordered in? Don't go there! No apology or comp@

Rick C

We were there a few months ago, two out of three of us were not happy. They did "comp" one meal. June had the fish and chips and she was happy.

Nicole Lai

Given the fancy decor and atmosphere I was expecting a lot from the food, boy was I disappointed!!! I ordered Toad In The Hole which was one of the 'English Classics' on the menu. Let me assure you, there was nothing classic about it; the french fries were probably the WORST I've had in the past five years ANYWHERE (soggy and kinda cold), the sausages were very dry and kinda overcooked (tasted worst than store bought ones) and the Yorkshire pudding and gravy were just as bad (the pudding was bland and soggy and the gravy tasted like something made from a packet). Overall for the price I paid I was definitely not happy with my food, will NOT be returning for sure. P.S. I guess the place was only half filled on a Friday night for a reason...

Tony Kemp

First night of "Dine Out Vancouver" luckily coincided with my Son's Birthday. The $20.00 three course dinner was fantastic as was the service. Thank you Luisa for looking after us all so well. I've always enjoyed past visits to the Cheshire Cheese but tonight was truly special.

Margaret Furgusson

Very warm, pleasant place for my husband and myself to enjoy our Sunday dinner! Staff was all very friendly and our waitress Jemma took very good care of us and ensured our visit was to our satisfaction. We will be returning.

I z

The worst Berger ever????,I asked them for well done when I was ordering,(because of my kids) and all burgers were RAW meat and soooo oily.paid $60 for very bad food???? Fries was not fresh at all????

Valerie Ede

Enjoyed a nice meal, good menu to choose from, and good service, nice place with a view of the ocean. Recommended!

Leo Li

Bad service. We basically served ourselves as a buffet. Waiting for a loooong time to get the waiter come and I ordered from another waitress because my waiter was “busy” helping other clients who came later than us, then my waiter was very rudely asked me to repeat my order. I said I can’t remember. After another 20 mins out soup came with no spoon, and no water refill throughout. And the order was wrong but the waiter arrogantly said that’s why I asked you to order from me.

Don Dewar

CAN’T SAY I DID’NT WARN YOU !! Ordered the Cajun chicken burger which was recommended by my server but was a tough, rubbery, slimy flavourless patty resembling chicken on a soggy bun and totally inedible that took 40 minutes to prepare but was absolutely inedible. They made a new one which out of spite the vengeful cook used pure cayenne seasoning which was bitter and super hot and served on a burnt bun. I wish restaurants would make a dish that matches the descriptions on the menu. That’s what you get when you hire minimum wage inexperienced cooks instead of trained chefs. The waiter obviously wanted to get rid of me and brought the bill right away. I mutually paid with no tip and will never return. Some diners are obviously easily pleased but have no palate. What a crappy excuse for a restaurant!

Winnabel Walters

Nice atmosphere. Great setting with lovely views at the quay. The harvest salad I ordered was pathetic, though. Diminutive would be an understatement; a child's meal at best. A thin layer of salad covering the bottom of the plate! If I hadn't added shrimp to it or had more time to reorder, I'd have sent it back. Beet pieces were few and microscopic. Hardly any goat cheese at all. And dressing you couldn't even really taste. Boo!

Kyle St. Laurent

Food was good, but poor service. Our server had this super obvious forced happy attitude. And made sarcastic jokes.

Jenna Ross

We stumbled across this place during dine out vancouver - had never heard of it before! The food was amazing, we had a crab dip appetizer, the fisherman's pie and Moroccan stew, and trifle and apple crumble for dessert. Really good value for money and very fast service. Neat ambiance too. The only downside was that we waited quite a while to pay and eventually went up to the bar (the restaurant had gotten quite busy). All in all a great experience though and we will definitely be back.

Irish Knight 1942

Good selection of British items on menu. Prices reasonable, portions are acceptable. Great setting. Worth a visit.

Olivia Jackson

Excellent food and excellent service! I had the salmon burger with fries and my husband had a burger with the works and both were stacked high with all the fixings and cooked to perfection. The service from Ali was also five star! Great location with convenient parking downstairs and fabulous views from the restaurant and patio. I’d 100% recommend this restaurant to others! See you again soon!

Jennifer Law

Incredible experience! The location was so amazing, the food was excellent, the server (Larry was his name I'm sure) was so friendly, helpful, and personable! Coming here was probably one of the highlights of our holiday. I so wish we could have stayed so much longer! Thank you for providing such a great service, we are so grateful.

David Panton

Good, typical British food. Spectacular view, well priced, good staff, and lots of regulars. Seems to be a favourite place for retirees! It's also easy to get to.

peyman ahmadi

A very beautiful place, yummy food various kind of drinks and most important lovely staffs. Highly recommended.

Katherine Sigurdsson

I love this restaurant!! I am a vegetarian and am always able to find a veggie option. The Moroccan stew is my favorite. The service has been excellent every time I have been there ( which is many). The Cheshire has one of the best views in the city from their patio. I'll be back soon!!
