The food was good, but I was very disappointed that none of the kitchen staff were wearing masks while preparing the food, especially during a global pandemic. The servers were also removing their masks while cashing us out. I think that restaurants especially should be focusing on safe protocols considering they're in contact with a large portion of the community.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while. The server was not friendly at all and the table we sat at was right near a window so we were half frozen. I ordered the fish and chips that was rather expensive and the fish was cooked past recognition. The server never came to see how our meal was. When we went to pay they didn't offer any discount on our meal that I couldn't eat. I was told I should have waved the server down and complained. NEVER going back and I will certainly tell anyone else not to bother either

This is one of my favourite spots for a homemade lunch when in the area. Their soup (especially the split pea and ham soup) was delicious, and my club sandwich was great. My husband loved his meal as well. Our server that day was incredibly friendly and efficient - I would go back just for her alone! Great place!

Edit since I can't reply to the owner: I was on vacation, travelling across Canada (driving) so no, my priority was not to review your restaurant the minute my bf had his first cramps and bowel movement. I did think about calling you to let you know your meat should be thrown away but I didn't. You can check my other reviews, nothing is fake, I have other things to do than to fake review a restaurant more than 550km away from my house. It is relatively inexpensive food but will definitely tell my friends not to go because of the service there. Called for pick up, told us 10-15 minutes, went in after 12 minutes, still had to wait another 15-20 minutes before order was ready. When we got our eggs Benedict, there was barely any hollandaise sauce, and what there was seemed watered down. Needless to say, we didnt eat our food. Very disappointed.

Awesome atmosphere Awesome prices.. I went in there there a half hour before they were going to have a staff meeting with 2 kids and 2 adults. The staff were still happy to serve us didn't make us feel rushed. The meal was huge I couldn't finish it all neither could anyone else at my table. Their prices are spot on you don't feel like your being taken to the cleaners while your eating. I highly suggest this place if your passing by. Very close to Highways 11 and 17 and worth the 2 mins drive off the highway. Can't wait till the next time..

Very similar to the 'burger world' restaurants. Very similar menus, better interior and less truck stop kind of vibe. Always great service, always great food, can get busy. Not to knock the place whatsoever because I like it alot but if you put all three restaurants side by side you couldn't really tell the difference minus the plating.

Very cosy environment. I like to go there with a small group of friends. Their breakfast items are great quality and they have a large selection. Coffee isn't bad. Their deep fried cheese curds are a nice snack. Sometimes it a little busy but it's well worth the wait. You can grab a drink and dessert here too if you want a simple date.

It was pretty busy when I came in but it is understandable considering it was lunch hour and it’s a new place. I wish I knew my servers name, I would have gave her a shout out. She was so kind when my boyfriend had to run out for a last minute work situation, she put his food under the warmer. We had everything we needed at the table at all times. I would encourage the restaurant to have their servers cash out their tables at the table... that way I could have tipped her more than I could have in those cups... plus, I couldn’t remember her name when I went to tip her I had to ask around haha...other than that, amazing food in good time and plenty of smiles! The customer service at this establishment has definitely taken a huge dive. 2 weeks ago we arrived and for breakfast and the wait staff forgot about us for 30 minutes prior to taking our order. They took orders from and served multiple other tables that arrived after us prior to taking our order. Today I arrived and advised the host that my wife would be joining me in two minutes. The restaurant was half empty and the host rudely advised me that I would have to go outside and they wouldn’t seat me until my wife arrived. Step up your game! Seat your customers. Take there orders. Treat people as actual guests and like you are thankful for there money.

My son and his partner went to Sykes for a date night. The waitress pretty much ignored them, shook my sons pop before bringing it to the table. They did not feel welcome at all. Had to pick out brown lettuce from a ceasar wrap and again black spots on lettuce on the chicken sandwich. My mom had an omelette and wasn't impressed either. Love Syl, love the family, but there's some adjustments that need to be made if they want to compete with other restaurants.

The food was great.. but I have to say the service was lousy. Specifically for me. The waitress was nice and friendly with all her other tables but treated my daughter and I like an annoyance in her day. She not once came to check if everything was alright and when we did finally manage to ask her for needed things her attitude when she brought it was a very sarcastic "is that it? Are you good now?" It was a bad experience and I will not be returning.

Really great service, and fantastic food. Usually when you go out to eat, if you eat at a place a lot, you will eventually get some sub par meals. With Syl's, I have never had a bad experience. I usually order something different every time, and it always comes out great. The servers have always been friendly, I have, surprisingly, never had a bad one. The place also looks great! There are a few things, some constructive criticism, but I didn't think it warranted 4 stars for the following: they could use a little more fries with their food that has fries, and it is a pain in the butt to have to go up to the counter to pay, rather than them bringing it to you, but I might just be lazy, haha.

We were in town for a couple of days and looked up a few places. We went to this place once and ended up returning twice more because the food was so nice. I had my home fries served crisp and this was amazing. The place is bright, the wait staff are genuinely friendly and looked after us very well and the atmosphere is good. First time coming here after recently moving to town. So far my experience in North Bay has been sub par for food options. With that said, I was extremely happy with our meal at Syls. I ordered the chicken parmesan special, that came with salad and dessert. My fiancé ordered Chicken Thai bits and the coleslaw and our son ordered the chicken fingers and fries. Everything was well beyond my expectations and it may have been the best meal I've had at a restaurant all year. We ordered very basic menu items but they were not cheaply made and tasted better than I could make at home, which is rare with any restaurant I've been too. I highly recommend them.

Not LGBTQ accepting. My partner and I went on a date there yesterday and the only time any staff came to the table was when we placed our order and received our food. The waitress shook my partners pop before bringing it to the table. And we did not feel welcome at all. On the other hand the food is great! Kudos to the chef for our amazing meal. I haven't eaten there. I never will. Outrageous prices for a family restaurant. Eight bucks for a wiener in a bun, a potato and a coffee or pop! Twenty bucks for a pickerel dinner that costed twelve bucks @burger world. Lots of luck. Your organized crime won't work with me. Burger World was OK if you liked dozens of regulars crowding the place with nothing better to do than sit around all day making too much noise. I would give ya zero stars if I could.

I love the fact that this is more of a family restaurant than a sports bar. It was rather busy with a long wait during the lunch time rush. Apparently, it has been rather crowded since it opened before last Christmas. Perhaps opting for a later lunch would mean a shorter wait for a table. Place seemed much brighter than the previous occupant of the building. My fish and chips were very good. The staff was rushed by the number of customers, but handled it well enough. My advice is to be patient. The food is worth the waiting for.

We went for diner for father's day to try It out for the first time. It wasn't extremely busy. Service was good and food came out hot. We order a burger and caesar salad, kids pogo and fries and the chicken quesadilla. The burger meat was small and loaded with toppings to make it look bigger bit ended up just falling apart. The caesar salad had a weird sour taste to the dressing and very cheap croutons in it. The chicken quesadilla was $13 without a side! The chicken had a taco style seasoning on it and was shredded to the consistency of cat food. The tortilla was also soggy and barely cooked. The kids meal was great though the kids portion was bigger than the quesadilla meal and half the price. We most likely will not be returning. Food 8s much better at burger world or Aunty Jane's.

Might be the best place in north bay for a quick bite, a late breakfast or a family meal. I love the atmosphere here, everyone is very nice and accommodating. Lots of places to sit, they even have a pattio for when it's nice. They serve the best nachos, great burgers with fries. I have eaten at this restaurant many time and the food and service is always amazing. This is a reply to a review from earlier today, to daire bowler and Kim. They think the world revolves around them and should be catered to on every occasion, this is a busy restaurant that I find manages its servers extremely well, and delivers its food on time and with a warm and friendly welcome everytime. This establishment is very inclusive and has no discriminatory elements after years of service to me and seeing how they view other customers. I’ve heard great things and maybe I had really high expectations but it wasn’t the perfect experience going for brunch on the weekend. I was pressed for time and the service was a bit slow to bring out our food. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and they told me 25 mins after I ordered they had no smoked salmon. I got the bacon instead. I also ordered the potatoes with onions and they never came with them. The food was good and the prices are extremely reasonable. The place was spotless including the washroom which was nice.

After talking to several people we expected big things from Syl's at breakfast time. Perhaps the hype just made me expect something incredible but was left with an average experience. The food was good but nothing was over the top, the plate arrangements were very plain, no garnishes or anything to fill it up. I had a breakfast burrito and my salsa and sour cream came in plastic small cups. For an above average price on breakfast just made us feel like something was lacking. All in all no complaints but no real stand outs either. Id recommend if your searching for a place to eat to try it out and see for yourself.

These guys are GREAT, I m from London and asked them to deliver a nice turkey dinner to my father in-law 30 min outside of North Bay and a great girl that works there Nikki made it happen...thanks Nikki and the crew that was much appreciated, I would recommend them and I will definitely do it again. ????????
