We were visiting from East of Toronto. I must say, Mitchell, our server had the absolute best customer service I have ever come across! If the food wasn't so amazing, and the portion size huge, I would go back just for a drink to be waited on by him again!!!! The food was fantastic and you definitely get your money 's worth!!! Ummm.... what is 50s about this place other than the old reprints of good 50s pictures on the wall? The 50s theme didn't reveal itself. It is a normal frigging restaurant that calls itself 50s.... food was mediocre at best! I am not biased on this review because the staff were actually friendly

Normally my experience is a 5 at Fiftys Diner However I did have a bad meal the other day. My daughter and grandsons neal was of the normal excellence. However my food was not up to par basically burnt a d overcooked. I believe the owner was not there. This is not the mormon when he is there.

We stopped here FOR Supper after a long drive from the GTA. Staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was very tasty, lots of it, and not expensive. What a find! It was so good, in fact, we come back for breakfast and had the same experience! I would recommend this diner to everyone!

Best fish n chips in the North Bay! Great service, friendly staff! This is by far one of my favorites. It's a busy place but sooo worth it! They have plenty of seating but the place fills up fast so come early! The girls are super friendly and remember you! They have a habit of tempting you into sinful deserts, so be careful! ;)

We were recommended Fifty's Diner by some locals and we are very happy we came for a visit. We really enjoyed a lunch from here. I had a great little club sandwich and my husband ordered a burger. They were both so yummy. My club was perfect. The ham was delicious, the toppings were fresh. My husband got a cheese burger. The meat was so good. Great toppings and sauce. The fries tasted great and were fresh and crispy. If we ever come back to North Bay for a visit, we will definitely be eating here.

Fifty's dinner is always a hit. Have two favorites 1- Jimmy Dean Burger ( delicious home made burger) 2- Chicken Caesar Salad ( one of the better in North Bay) Very popular atmosphere as there are always patrons inside. Some wait staff are better than others and it does make a difference, but the food speaks for itself. Keep up the great work.

Had the smoked meat wrap with a side of grilled veggies and was very pleased. The wrap wasn't 'soupie' just he right amount of sauce to not overwhelm the meal. Clean restaurant and always busy. I've only eaten there for breakfast and lunch but the menu has an amazing selection, a bit for everyone. Kids and senior menu available as well.

Loved this place. Had breakfast on my way to Alwaki Lodge, Lac Kipawa, QC. A 3 egg Benedict done Florentine style with more fruit and hash browns than I've ever seen before on a restaurant plate! Just what a hungry fisherman needed to start a great week of island living. This family run diner is a bit obscure as you head north on 63 out of North Bay. If you spot the Freshco signs, turn right. Fifties Diner is at the end of the little strip mall there. Worth a stop for sure!

Fifty's diner is not exactly a 50s themed diner (though the spelling of the name makes no false promises). There are no jukeboxes and the celebrity photos on the wall are mostly from the 60s and 70s. Fifty's is a busy restaraunt serving up typical diner fare including puck-sized burgers and an all-day breakfast menu. The waitress was friendly, professional and quick with the coffee refills. I ordered a classic breakfast dish comprising of homestyle potatoes, bacon and eggs. The bacon was crispy, the eggs were adequate and the potatoes all but stole the show. I mean they really did feel home made. Overall, I enjoyed this diner experience despite the not-quite-50s. Fifty's Diner strikes me as the type of place to make a good stack of pancakes. I think that's what I'll order next time I am in North Bay.

If this place counted on the staff, they would be rated 5 stars. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food didn't come close! The ham (in the hungry man breakfast) was so thin that it couldn't help but be over cooked and leathery, and the unseasoned homefries were cold. The second item was the Philly steak sandwich was good, but the fries ( that were supposed to be extra crispy) were tough and cold. We didn't feel that the meal was worth the price.

You can’t go wrong, especially with the variety. Great size serving, was fairly fast. The only thing a little off putting is the locals staring at you, because you don’t frequent the establishment. Do not recommend. Had a breakfast consisting of a Hungry Man variant that was greasy and lacking entirely in flavour. Salt could not save the burnt eggs, lumpy hash browns or chewy bacon. The floors were dirty, the counters dusty, and the walls needed paint 25 years ago. Further, the decor was the most overplayed 50s pastiche I've ever seen. Do you like Monroe, Elvis, and Hendrix? Because that's it - the place is bad photos and awful colours. Blindness would be a gift. Finally, the bathrooms are a literal war zone. Avoid if possible. God help us. 2/5 stars.

Unfortunately I can't say to much good about here. When we came to visit there was not a whole lot of people in the restaurant. I sat down and it looked like they were going to close early. (45 mins before closing) we were treated like an inconvenience were offered a choice of if there were willing to prepare it or not menu. The food after cooking was ok. We went again on a second occasion and the service was better but the food was not that outstanding. Like it wasn't bad but it was just... Meh. Prices were ok.

Great food. But the chineese waitress needs to learn to pay attention. I said my order and she repeated every item back wrong. I corrected her . I said to my wife our order is going to be screwed up. Sure enough it was. After telling her that the order was wrong she started to walk back to the kitchen and stopped to laugh and joke with other customers for a few minutes. I was so mad that she really didn’t think it was a big deal that I just wanted out of there . I would go back if I could guarantee she wasn’t our waitress. It’s too bad because the place has great food and good portions.

The best place to eat! Amazing staff, amazing food. The portions are big. I eat here regularly with my husband, and we both love it. I highly reccommend.

I go here for breakfast and brunch. While they do not offer blueberry pancakes, they DO offer delicious fluffy buttermilk pancakes with an option to have them with "blueberry sauce" (read: blueberry pie filling). The food is great and they turned me onto pie filling with my pancakes! Trust me, it's really, really good.

Wonderful little place! The staff are all friendly, and the service is great. They have a large menu, so anyone can find something they like. The food is home-cooked, hot, and plenty of it. Prices are reasonable, too! I come here often, usually for lunch, and it's always great!

Just had a toasted tomato sandwich Bread was toasted ..although you could tell it had been sitting a while. 2 thinly sliced pieces of tomato and wasnt enough lettuce to even taste..wasnt even the leafy part.. Not sure why they served it on a huge plate that obviously had been sitting under heat lamps as the plate was warm I ate the tomato and left the rusty lettuce and the bread The service wasnt great..the waitress walked by our table several times with the coffee pot but never asked if we needed a refill As for price.... They offerred me a discount but then they tried to charge me for a sandwich platter which comes with homefries $10.45 Second price after i mentioned that was alot for sandwich ( which the staff replied "we dont make the prices) was 7$ because "apparently" i had bacon and homefries the waitress said. When i pointed out that i had no bacon or homefries the price then went to $3.75 but without the discount they had offerred..not sure why In the end they did give me 2 thinly sliced pieces of tomato ,old toasted bread and some rusty lettuce for no charge The main problem with this restaurant is they are not consistent with the quality of their food or their service.. Its hit and miss
