It was mediocre I purchased six cookies two muffins and a raspberry lemon tea cake and a chi tea The cookies and the loaf were very good when I got them home the muffins that I bought was so dry when I cut into it ,it just crumbled you couldn’t put butter on them it just fell apart the chai tea it was good but I think it was too much heat onto it as in spicy it it almost felt like it had cayenne pepper in it don’t get me wrong I like spicy food but in your tea this was a little too much and the service was not great the gentleman that took my order was more interested in talking to the girl at the end of the counter while I was giving him my order then after putting my order together he passed me off to the young man who is making my tea and then walked over the girl and started to chit chat with her I didn’t travel all that way over there for that kind of service plus my order came to like $37 I was so sad and disappointed in the service that I got

I ordered a very delicious butter chicken pie and tarte aux orange, both of which were very nice. The butter chicken had nice big chunks of chicken, and the tart was more like a torte but nevertheless delicious. I would show you photos, but I ate everything before I could take them.

Ordered a red velvet and eggless fruit cake for my mom’s 50th birthday and both cakes were incredible! Many of us had to have a slice of each one because we couldn’t decide which was better!!! Perfect amount of sugar (they weren’t too sweet) and you could tell that they were made with care! Thank you for making the party a success!! Will be back ????

Great handmade and homemade desserts and pastries! Lalit and team are very talented, friendly and professional. We had the tiramisu and a bunch of baked goods and they were all very excellent. The neighbourhood definitely needed an amazing bake shop. Go check them out and support local!

Came across this amazing bakery yesterday while shopping! Its a haven for shortbread, cookies and cakes. The staff is super polite and attentive and the food is delicious. I absolutely loved their butter chicken pie!! Seating and environment inside is good and they even have patio seating.Their venue is good for small gatherings and I definitely recommend them for their amazing service. I also met the owner Lalit who is also the head chef, he has travelled the world and headed some of the finest five star kitchens around the world.

Best place to get a fresh cake! We got a fresh cream fresh fruit cake and it didn't disappoint!! It was very well done with the flavour, freshness, toppings!! The pastry chef/owner is very courteous and nice! Highly recommend this place, definately going back for more!

Love what Lalit and company are doing in an area of New West. desperately in need of fresh baked pastries and very good coffee. The business is finding it’s footing and will further grow and develop as they respond to local patrons desires for a “go to” artisan bakery in Queensborough Landing. Try one of their amazing custom cakes for your next celebration, you’ll be glad you did!

I have been here a couple of times and the staff is lovely. I tried their black forest cake and it was great and very flavourful. I also love their brownies! Their masala chai is also a fave! Also love the aesthetic of the store - perfect study spot!

I was so excited for this local spot in Queensborough because all the fun seems to happen across the river. I spent $25 on what barely passed as food and I couldn't be more disheartened. The masala chai tastes like strong cardamom, almost bittery in watered down milk, and nothing close to what chai should taste like. The paneer in the puffs was very hard and rubbery and stuffing had no flavour. Finally, the pumpkin spice cookies, not only didnt have any hint of the flavours but also didnt taste like shortbread cookies at all. Their orange cardamom cookies were slightly better from a previous purchase.

We got the Queen rose shortbread cookies, French tart and dark chocolate cheesecake. I would recommend the cheesecake and cookies but I personally found the French tart a bit too sweet. The price is reasonable compared to other bakeries in Vancouver. They also serve Salt Spring Island coffee but I didn't try it today. The only recommendations I have is that it would attract more people if the food is more instagram worthy.

They literally put the cupcake in the take out plastic soup bowl. When I open it the lid it stick with the cupcake..........they also sooooo dry and stale including the chocolate cookie, feel like eating their display....

First time in take the cake about a month ago and may I just say wow! The girl at the front counter, Kim, was absolutely amazing. Excellent costumer service, extremely covid and food saftey aware and kept her areas clean, kindest heart, made the best latte I've ever had, and the list can go on. Went in for a second and third time and she wasn't there. Costumer service wasn't the best, honestly I felt a little disrespected, Latte's were very inconsistent, surface areas looked extremely dirty.

Queen rose pistachio short bread and lemon lavender cookies are my fav and the latte is just the way I like. Friendly owner and many freshly baked items every day. The black Forest cake was a bit dry but I always go back for short bread cookies!

I have watched my brother Lalit for a few years, work so hard to open this amazing shop to bring, his amazing talent and offerings you can't resist. Everything is fresh and soooo tasty. If you are in the area, please visit and support the dream and vision of his family. Warning; Just don't go there hungry, you might end up adding couple of pounds to your scale ????????

Love that they offer salt spring coffee, it’s delicious. Had an oat milk latte that was perfect! Nicer to walk my dog here than Starbucks in the plaza. Gluten free cookie was great, however the regular chocolate chip cookie I got was very hard. I couldn’t eat it. Will be coming back to try the other selections :)

I'm so happy to see this café / bakery open up in my neighbourhood. I really hope that the locals can support it. I have visited two times so far and have found the service to be super friendly and attentive and the food and drink to be delicious. Coffee is great and salted caramel cheesecake, berry scones, and chai shortbread were delicious. I will definitely have to try one of the butter chicken pies next!

Wow - amazing quality and service. Last night the rain was torrential and traffic snarled so I never made it back over the bridge to pickup the cake before diner (didn’t even call to let them know). Today they had a brand new cake for me and it looks fantastic. Glad to have a merchant like this in Queensborough!

I heard of a new place opening up so I had to drop on by. I decided to try one of their pies, the pumpkin cheesecake, which was really good. The cheesecake had great consistency to that of a tradional German or European cheesecake. The pumpkin spice was perfectly balanced and did not over power the cheese cake. Great job Take the Cake!! Can't wait to try the rest.

* Ignore the negative reviews * Having lived in Queensborough my whole life it’s always exciting when something new opens and it exceeds your expectations— Lalit is an amazing culinary chef from Europe who makes fantastic cookies. Gluten free ones are delicious too! Chocolate croissant is also a favourite when it’s available. I’ve stopped going to the starbucks at the landing and prefer an oat milk Mocha here instead ????????. Excited to try the cakes next.

I would really like to try this place. When I went in the person behind the counter was not wearing a mask or gloves. He was touching the register and then picking up the cake with bare hands and placing it in the box . Then touching the interact machine. He was even offering cookie pieces with his unwashed hands. The should have protocol in place- especially with covid ! I would go back and try it if they wore mask and gloves or even proper hand washing.

I just moved to the area and saw this place and got so excited! I went in and got a cookie, a shortbread cookie, a cupcake and a muffin....I couldnt finish any of them :( the cookies were so hard they just broke everywhere, the cupcake was stale and hard and the muffin was rubbery....so sad. Was looking forward to this place. The lady at the till was very pleasent though!

I had an amazing experience at Take The Cake Patisserie! The staff were gracious and efficient. The owner greeted me personally and checked that I was pleased with my order. I had the butter chicken pie which was tender, savoury and delicious. The pastry desserts that I sampled were heavenly! I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Take The Cake either for a snack (on the run), a light meal, or a special occasion dessert or cake.! Congratulations to this fine establishment on their recent opening!

Anytime I think of a good cake or pastry items only place comes in my mind is #Takethecake. The quality is simply mind blowing. Quick service. Value for money. Worth it ! I wholeheartedly recommend a Visit to #Takethecake for anything but specially for a masala chai.

WOW , this place is really amazing. So many variations of desserts. I got Chocolate Truffle cake for my daughter's birthday and it was really delicious. Girls put some sprinkles on top so originally it's without sprinkles. Kids loved it! The owner is so generous and kind ! I'm really glad that we have this place in town.

Follow up: I called the next day and they send me the chocolate truffle (with 3 other cakes ^^) personally within 2 hours. Everybody make mistake and I love the fact that they own up to it and response so quick. Will definitely come back as their tarte salted caramel chocolate already become one of my favorites.???? I ordered 3, two tarts and one chocolate truffles. He seal the box and give it to me so I didn’t see the inside. But when I got home, I only found two tarts. There’s no chocolate truffles even though I paid for it already.

Oh my goodness! Take THE Cake is truly a Queensborough/New Westminster gem! The cakes, sweets, muffins and cookies are not only beautifully prepared and presented but are delicious. Last night we enjoyed the Curry Chicken Pot Pie. I wasn’t sure what to expect but our dinner was delicious. A perfect blend of spices, generous amount of meat and filling and the pastry was lovely. We were extremely pleased. While we probably didn’t need dessert, our meal was topped off with a fruit tart. Again, delicate crust, a wonderful selection of fruits and a tasty vanilla custard. I plan to make Take THE Cake a more regular stopping point on my way home and suggest others to definitely do the same! Thank you!!

Love love love this place. Delicious Desserts,Great ambience, friendly staff and lovely owner. I ordered a eggless fruit cake couple of days ago it tasted so amazing everyone loved it. Was high quality,well balanced not too sweet. Have tried their shortbreads as well queen rose pistachio and coco nibs are my favourite. And paneer puff is a must try. I highly recommend their service.

Amazing shortbread cookies.I bought some different flavors for my office and everyone loved them! The Masala Chai tea is the best, I will be back (frequently) as I want to try everything. Staff and owners are so friendly, it really is a great place.

Got a lemon tart and pumpkin tart. Lemon tart was excellent. I expected the pumpkin tart to be a like a traditional pumpkin pie filling with the usual spices and creaminess but it tastes like canned pumpkin. It’s not bad, just not what I imagined. I’d go back for the lemon tart and try their other items too. Great neighbourhood gem!

I was in town and was looking for a coffee shop and found Take the cake, I went in and order Americano, it was amazing hot and as per my expectations. Since my first visit to Take the cake coffee shop, I'm obsessed with their coffee and keep stopping by whenever I'm in that area. I also had breakfast pastry and it was so fresh and delicious. High quantity pastry shop.

First time visited this bakery. Blown away by the great service and quality of the baked goods. Got the chance to chat with the owner who is humble and yet proud of his baked goods. Tried the black Forest cupcake, soft and not overly sweet. Would recommend. The fruit tart was the best. Would go back for that again. Generous amount of fruits and variety and the pastry was fragrant. Enjoyed every bite of it. We also got the vanilla 8'' fruit cake but felt the sponge was a bit too dense. Personally I like lighter sponge cakes. This is not a bad cake, just not to my pallette. Oh, we also got the chicken puff pastry. So very good! Great amount of fillings, well balanced flavour and the pastry was well done!

I visited the place casually just to grab a coffee but found they are offering much more. Bought a couple of cookies, breads and a cake for my little one and she liked it. They surpassed my expectations. Products are best in the town. I spent around 20 minutes and found place can be good for small meetings as highly approachable with good parking. Definitely recommend.

WOW, AMAZING! We discovered this gem today and cannot express how happy I am to have found such nice place. We went to buy a last-minute birthday cake and got the Fresh Cream Fruit cake, it's not only beautifully made, but it's also DELICIOUS. We also got three French tarts (lemon, fruit and salted caramel chocolate), and I wished I got more of these because they were incredibly TASTY. The owner was super nice, friendly and kind, he went above and beyond with the service! Overall I had an amazing experience at Take The Cake Patisserie and I'll be recommending it to friends and family. I'll be back VERY soon! Keep being awesome!

Disappointing.. I was so hopeful that this place would be great, but it missed the mark. I make a point to support my local businesses however I won't be returning. What was good: The staff, they were so friendly and helpful. The store it's self looks very nice, great signage, however the decor was exactly the same as the previous business. I was impressed with the pastry of the pie I purchased. There were some interesting potential flavours. What was not good: None of the items had prices on them. The price list is on the wall which is difficult to get to and maintain social distance. For 6 gluten free cookies I was charged $15.00 and for 6 regular $12.00. I purchased the lavender and lemon cookies and they were absolutely disgusting and inedible. The lavender was so overwhelming it was like eating soap. I have used lavender in many dishes and it can be a lovely flavour. Also, for that price point I would expect butter to be used in these shortbread which is very doubtful. My gluten free cookies were far too sweet. One couldn't get past the overwhelming sugar to taste the cocoa in these dark chocolate cookies. They also said that they had white chocolate pieces, I found one in three cookies. There was supposed to be an orange flavor as well which was also overshadowed by the insane sweetness. The pie I purchased was certainly full of chicken but the flavor was mediocre at best. It tasted like the butter chicken sauce you buy at Walmart which pales in comparison to the amazing butter chicken at the Indian Restaurant across the parking lot. Again, I found the price exorbitant, at 14.99 for a pie that would serve two people provided you had at least a side salad. I didn't find any vegetables at all in the pie. I do hope the best for the proprietors, and from other folks reviews they will do well, I just won't be returning.

Take THE Cake was such a wonderful and cozy venue - very personalble with the warm reception of Lalic - the Culinary Head and MD and Kim who assisted us with our choices. The coffee is the best - fresh and delicious - and the cranberry orange muffin was like no other I have ever had - my friend and I are from Surrey and would certainly venture out here again to enjoy the ambience and the high quality of both food, coffee and Lalit!
