The food is amazing, each and every menu item, made from organic ingredients right off the family farm, which makes me return as often as I can. Top Bavarian fare served in the most friendly setting and traditional decor. This is a culinary experience well-worth detour! Placed in a nice setting, the drive to there is nice too :) A few notes: make sure you book in advance, especially in the summer; pay attention to opening times (Fri-Sun only, lunch and dinner until late); know that it's cash only (possibly allowing EMT too?); and, if you like German deli, the family-run butchershop Adolf Butcher Shop is right next door ;)

Amazing place. Location is a bit far away from the city but worth the visit. I had the Oktoberfest platter with perfectly cooked pork chop, schnitzel and homemade sausage. Service was a bit slow, but it's ok due to the cool and relaxed vibe of the place.

I wish there's a NO STAR. Such a manner as a restaurant owner, yelling at me on the phone and hang up on me three times, just won't let me talk. So here is the story, I booked a reservation on Monday for a Sunday birthday party, raining day and driving down from Fredericton. No calls received during the whole week, 6 days, turns out they did NOT book us in either the food or the table. Ends up yelling at us and tell us we are giving them a hard time, WOW!

We met up with 10 other people for supper on this beautiful day. The place was packed which increased the noise level and also added to how hot it was. There was no air conditioning and no open windows to at least get some airflow. The floor was even wet. On the other hand the food was great and service exceptional but had to leave as soon as we ate to sit outside and finish my drink.

The food was absolutely amazing, as usual. I had the sauergraten ( beef in a special marinade) served with spaetzle and dumpling. It also comes with delicious salads. The service was great and they're all so friendly and helpful. My in laws are from bavaria and they were super impressed with how great their food was. My mom in law never eats all her food and she devoured it. It is a must see and totally worth the drive! This was our third time there

My grandfather came here 30 years ago and still talks about it. I went and it was the best meal I've had since....birth. They did bring a bread basket to snack on while the main course was cooking - I'd advise leaving it unless you've been starving yourself all day in preparation, because you'll regret it if you're full before you can finish. Had the cream of mushroom schnitzel.

The menu reminds me so much of my trip to Germany, that I was in a little slice of heaven as my girlfriend and I shared bits of wurst and schnitzel. The sauces were fantastic, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the attentive wait staff. I would happily choose this restaurant to celebrate a special night out. The food was fantastic, right from the very start when the bread basket is placed in front of you, until you lower your desert spoon. Try the Erdinger Weissbier. It’s a lovely blonde lager brewed in Erding Germany.

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant today from the wonderful reception we received when we arrived, to our amazing servers, to the unbelievable meal! We were able to enjoy our meal outside with the incredible view of the rolling hills and pastures. Probably the closest thing you'll get to real German food in the region. The lack of Bavarian drink options is a bit of a bummer (I was hoping for a Ruß (Wheat beer with a splash of lemonade) as I'd had all over Bavaria during my recent trip. The use of generic prepared mustard was also a bit of a subtle joykill, but these are just little things most folks wouldn't recognize. Prices are a bit higher than most places, but the cuisine is certainly passable for that of a German inn's restaurant.

Where do I start about this one of a kind German dining experience?!? Our group of four went to supper on Saturday night - our first time there. You definitely don't find this place by accident hahahaha. You are definitely going to be visiting new areas on your way to the restaurant - great drive, but don't blindly follow Google Maps to get you there hahahaha. You will want to make a reservation if you plan on eating here without worry of getting turned down after the drive to the country. We were seated quickly and first drinks came out with a bread bowl in no time. Now everything after this point is a dining experience. Don't expect to come here to grab a quick bite. The meal is very traditional - enjoy your company between each course and expect to be full when you leave ????????????. Everything that came out to the table was awesome German food. We had a great time and the waitress was amazing. We had a great laugh all the way along and literally were there for three hours. At no time do you feel rushed to finish and be out the door- we literally left 20 minutes after closing because we didn't notice the time. Although this restaurant is over an hour away from our place, we'll be back for sure - amazing place. PS the family dogs are very friendly and don't be surprised if one sneaks in every now and then when the door opens hahahaha. Thanks guys ????????????

After hearing rave reviews from friends we had to try this place for ourselves. It did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely delicious and you could tell that they had made it themselves. The only problem was that we were so full that we didn't get dessert, which I guess was a travesty in and of itself according to our friends. We will now have to take the long (but worth it) journey back out to the middle of nowhere to try this famous Black Forest Cake.

The food was excellent, had the sausage platter w salad and everything was cooked to perfection with quality ingredients. The service was amazing as well with the servers being very courteous and friendly. The restaurant also looked amazing from the inside and out, very well done German aesthetic, and trust me I would know as I have been to a restaurant in Germany, it was spot on here. The only complaint I could come up with would be that the bathroom stall was a little too small, kinda cramped, but when that is your only complaint with a place, you know it's good. I couldnt recommend more, if your in the area you owe yourself to go.

Great atmosphere, good food! With regards to the schnitzel, found the prices steep for 3 small pieces ... $32. To be honest, we were expecting much larger servings. I wouldn't drive the 1.5 hours to dine on schnitzel & mashed potatoes. Next time, definitely something else on the menu. Note, they now accept credit as well as cash ????

My experience at Gasthof was wonderful. The food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. If you are unfamiliar with traditional German food, do yourself a favor and order one of the platters! All the meat dishes are directly from their farm and you could taste the quality. Very, very delicious! They do not accept debit or visa, but they did take e-transfers.

Amazing little gem. Atmosphere is cozy and very German. Staff was very friendly, on top of this. Those two don't matter much though, cause, the food is amazing. I had the Hunter Schnitzel and it was perfect. The Spatzle is also very, very good. Got some fantastic bread waiting for the meal. Only thing I'll say as a heads up is they don't take card, so, be prepared to come with cash or cheque. Give this place a try. Amazing.

What happened ??? We made reservations in advance for a later evening dinner and waited two and a half hours to three hours for our meals. Secondly certain dishes were not available, meals were substituted for aother side dishes and meal portions greatly reduced in size to what we were accustomed to. We fully understand that customer demand and supply can change in a very fast time but we should have been atleast told the wait time was longer than usual. Will we go back. Yes as we know this is not the standard we have been treated to for years. A review of what happened should be looked into and corrections made to prevent this from happening again.

Easily one of my most favourite restaurants in the world. From the meats sourced from the family butcher shop, the location nestled in the rolling farmlands of the Sussex area, and of course, the authentic German cuisine. I know the other items on the menu are good, but it's hard for me to not get the schnitzel everytime I go. This is a place that I'd show anyone who comes to New Brunswick, and if you're local and havent gone yet, you should definitely go. This is a provincial treasure!

visited the place with a group. we got a tour of the facilities: the farm, the care of cows, pigs, poultry, presented by the owner. this fascinating tour also included the history of this German family as immigrants in the Maritime. then we had an excellent lunch in the restaurant.

The meatloaf was made like processed meat (pressed) no taste; potato salad was cold cooked potatoes that must have been sitting in the fridge for sometime and then mashed to make the salad (they were grey colour as if the coldroom/root cellar had been too cold) then mixed up with mustard or whatever; sauerkraut was tasteless; the schnitzel was too thin, deep fried and dry; the potato soup looked like green pea soup; the only thing good was the bread basket. As you can tell I will certainly not be back. Harrison Hot Springs Schnitzel Parlour would put this place to shame!

We have heard so many great things about this restaurant and it did not disappoint! Food was better than we could have imagined. The ambiance was amazing and the service was second to none! Reservations already made for our next visit!
