Birch grove is a nice little restaurant off the highway. The food comes in decent portions and was prepared relatively quickly. It had a little of an off the fryer feel but that's not always a bad thing. Apparently if it's quiet you seat yourself.

Well I have to say... When my bus pulled up here I saw the cheeseburger platter Offer and knew that was what I wanted. Mary sue wanted fish, typical for someone who sat at the front of the bus like her. Well I sat at the back of the bus and I was in the mood for BURGER. I waddled my way down the bus and nodded at the driver "you know it" I winked, he knew what it meant. I went inside and ordered and had to wait, I contemplated waddling back to the bus but decided to waddle around the building multiple times instead. Eventually I went back in, my order was ready. Well I have to say it was not good. The blandest burger I ever did taste, and frozen fries. I considered telling them to rename the place Birch Grave because the food had me wanting to be in one sooner. Anyway I waddled back to the bus with dissatisfaction and we took off. I looked back with a scowl and narrow eyes "I'll remember this" I muttered.

Even tho COVID-19 has come, and restaurants are 1/2 opened with social distancing, we had a great feed of clams and chips. The clams were ???? and sitting on the patio was lovely. There is inside dining and picnic tables, come and enjoy! The staff were very helpful and polite. I would recommend eating here anytime. There is a motel next door should you want to rest.

We came at the last minute on Thursday evening. They fried up fresh Haddock and French Fries and cole slaw beautifully. Very tasty and the price is extremely reasonable. Staff were very courteous and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended. Atmosphere is down home basic. Just plain good food.

First of all, the service here should be the standard for all restaurants. Our server was friendly, professional, and fast. The food was excellent. Fish and chips, and clams. Very reasonable prices, and with everything open in New Brunswick now, the choice of sitting inside or out(we chose the big outdoor deck) was great. It might be a while before we get back to New Brunswick, but we'll come here for sure.

Their excuse was the head cook was injured and I can sympathize with that, but not when other folks were served while we waited. Very weak excuse. Just apologize and do something with the bill and that would have been fine.

Omg! How could anyone possibly rate this restaurant anything but a full 5 stars?!!! I had the lobster carbonara and it was a huge amount for lunch. There were about 10 lobster claws in it plus lobster meat. Very flavorful (a tad salty with the bacon) but soooo good. This restaurant is a gem!

It's just okay. We waited about an hour to get our food from the time we ordered. We kind of expected that based on the time and day. The fish and chips are just okay. Very thin on batter and the fries just taste fresh out of the deep freeze. The coleslaw was very carrot filled. Pies are okay but nothing special. Given the fact there are two other very good restaurants of the same variety within minutes I would not make the trip to this spot over them. Also their tartar sauce seems to be olive based which is a little strange especially if you are not expecting it. Prices were fair and portions are a good size though. I would give it a 3.5 if I could.

This restaurant is a local favorite. I will admit that my go to is their fish and chips. Sadly the fries are krinkle cut (and I guess frozen French fries) but the fish portions are decent and the fish is haddock with a very nice breading. The staff are nice and add the hometown atmosphere.

Tucked away, right beside the highway. We got to sit on the shaded back deck, with hang flower baskets. We ordered a small seafood platter and a large clam platter. The amount of food was staggering. Very generous helpings that weren't just padded with fries but plenty of seafood instead. The homemade tartar sauce was really nice aswell(I think I tasted a hint of olive?) I'll be going back!

I had the Fish Platter and Strawberry Rhubarb pie. The best deep fried seafood I've had in years! Clams were astounding and I don't usually like them because they are not prepared right at most places. The pie was delicious and crust was nice and flaky without being dry. I will 100% recommend this restaurant, and thanks to the nice lady I met on the NRB trail that recommended this restaurant.

Bought small seafood platter. One slice of haddock. 4 nice sized scallops 5 or 6 shrimp and several clusters of clams all lightly battered and deep fried. Comes on a bed of crinkle cut fries. Included with meal was small slaw and tartar sauce. Was all I could do to finish this delicious meal of seafood however i could not touch the fries. Such a shame but i cam live with them as they were just frozen fries not fresh. Seafood however was just the way I like it.

The fish chowder is outstanding. The paddock and shrimp is fabulous. This place can get packed but the parking is pretty good. It could fit an rv if its not busy. Lots of folks get the take out here. Eat here and you won't be disappointed. We sat on the deck out back so we could keep our eye on the dog. Parked in the shade.

I was so disappointed last time I was there. It was on the civic holiday earlier this month. I live in Alberta but I’m from New Brunswick and love going to this restaurant after going to New River beach or on the way back from Saint Andrews. This experience we waited 1.5 hours for our food. Meanwhile everyone else that came afterwards was served and left. After 45 minutes of being totally ignored by my waitress, I went up and was told it was busy. Our food was next up so not to worry. I wait another 25 minutes while others that arrived after are served and leave. I again go ask what is taking so long. I say wasn’t our food on coming it’s only simple dishes like fish and chips and roast beef. We were rudely told by my waitress that I can leave if I want. I said no we’ll wait. I mean how much longer could it be. Another 25 minutes go by. I go back up. Im told I can leave or stay. I said I’ll stay because we’re starving and we waited this long. Food finally comes out about an hour and a half later. It ruined what I thought was a hidden gem of a restaurant. We probably will never go back. The friends and relatives that I’ve told to go there. I will share this terrible experience. So so disappointed. I would rate this in the negative if it would let me

Great place to get take out or eat in fried seafood would recommend the lobster roll or seafood platter lots of food and very fresh and tasty would most definitely go there again when we are in the area good price for what you get and food for the hole family even if you are not a seafood eater and staff where very nice and helpful when sorting out the order but like I said it does get busy so don't panic if there is a bit of a que when you get there.

We had an order of just clams it was twice the size compared to Ozzies. Clams were really good.. I like Ozzies as well but you get twice as much here for the price. We also had a small seafood platter it was lots for one person and can be shared. Shrimp was good and the scallops. Fish was good as well, very light batter. Grandkids loved the fries and hotdogs. The fries for me were ok. Perhaps they could of been crisper.

Very busy. Waited quite awhile. Staff was good when they came by. Fish and chips ordered. Fish was good.. Lots of food but for the price I would have liked real fries not frozen low quality, over cooked, crinkle cut bits. Had to ask for vinegar, lemon and tartar sauce. Tartar sauce was unusual, very vinegary. Had to get ketchup from another table. I would go back as there is not alot of places to eat around this area.

Very busy! We were able to be seated right away and order but had a short wait before food arrived. I ordered the small turkey dinner and it was a perfect size. The best turkey dinner I have had in any restaurant. Wish I had saved room for dessert because they a sounded delicious.

Pie looked nice but didn't taste as nice. Strawberry pie was too sweet and the lemon pie tasted old and over cooked. The server was alright but maybe too busy to give a good effort.

Casual friendly service..no frills,just great service and wonderful fresh seafood..very reasonable prices for such huge servings ..the fish platter is to die for..so are the homemade pies..eat on or take out.

We went for sea food and were not disappointed. The portions were large and the price was really good. I had scallops and shrimp. The batter was perfect and fries delicious. There were 4 in our group and everyone totally enjoyed their meals.

We went for dessert. Edible oil topping on top. What the what? Making good desserts and putting anything but real whip cream on top is silly. Wife's lemon meringue pie was good. My bread pudding was okay. No blueberry pie when blueberries aren't in season, which I can understand.

Second time eating here absolutely delicious! We've had the fish and chips, large seafood platter, turkey dinner and deep fried pickles and all were amazing. Large portions and delicious. They have a love deck out back to sit and eat at on nice days as well as an indoor restaurant. Pricing was fair and the customer service was great both times. Highly recommend :)

ABSOLUTELY one of the BEST places to eat in the area -- go at an off time or be prepared to wait a bit for a table! The BEST clam strips and fried shrimp in the region! Lots of homemade desserts but my favourite is the warm bread pudding! YUM!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
