Wine and a very creative and exhaustive list of tapas available here. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. My party of 5 ordered 9 tapas, two bottles of wine, two desserts, and some coffee. All for under $300. I know that sounds like a lot, but the quantity and quality makes this such a great deal. Try to get a patio seat that over looks the beautiful and pristine Kootenay lake. The Gnocchi puttanesca, wagyu carpaccio, and the match cheese cake are highlights. I assume the menu rotates from time to time, but based on the extensive list of items we ordered, there were no disappointments.

Beautiful view of the lake from this patio. Lots of shade too. I had a refreshing mint-lemon drink on a hot day along with gluten free caprese bruschetta with homemade sesame crackers that really was fresh and tasty. Happy I wandered in here.

The menu selections are eclectic and very tasty! We enjoyed every bite. Our family of 3 ordered 4 tapas and a starter salad which was perfect for dinner. My favourites were the gnocchi and beef bavette. The homemade limoncella with ginger is great with dessert. Sticky Toffee pudding and chocolate mousse were incredible. The ambiance is inviting, romantic, yet casual. I appreciated the great music, spot on lighting and comfortable spacious seating. Service was exceptional too. These things all count! Will be back soon.

Admittedly had a bit more of a personalized off menu experience here as I know the kitchen staff but regardless the food they brought us was incredible and I know they put the same effort into all the menu items. It's nice to see some real creativity in the food. The atmosphere in the dining area is also exceptional. I look forward to sitting on the deck in the summer and having the delicious food accompanied with the spectacular view.

We did enjoy the deck and food. Disappointed when the bill came and they charged more than was on the menu for the cider. The menu item was for a smaller size and they served a larger size.

Had a birthday dinner there on the covered (and heated!) patio. The service was amazing and the food was spectacular. It is definitely pricey and not somewhere I will go to all the time, but it makes for the perfect spot to celebrate special occasions and milestones. Well done!

I really enjoyed my dinner experience at Sage. Compelling location at the very walkable edge of downtown, with a fairly sizable outdoor patio one could enjoy in the summer months. Interior is cozy and suitable for a special occasion or romantic meal. Service is highly professional and efficient. The food I had (beet salad appetizer and sous vide pork tenderloin with apples) were both excellent. So too was the BC-grown Malbec that accompanied it - a bit unusual on the face (given the climate difference between the Mendoza and Okanagon valleys), but it was seriously good juice. Loved the ‘acoustic cover’ background music. Wouldn’t classify as a tapas restaurant per se (not Spanish influenced, nor are there an abundance of shareable small plates) but it was excellent food nonetheless. Highly Recommended!

Highly recommend this place for great portions of incredible food. service was great as well, no rushing and attentive. also recommend sitting out on the patio to enjoy the heat lamps and evening view.

I've only been once. The patio is amazing, the view is incredible. The service was good. The menue is fancy The food was really well prepared and presented however it was all a bit to salty. I will go back, the salt problem may have just been a one off.

10/10 amazing. Best meal of our lives. Ordered focaccia to start and the Pork Wellington and the steak with the Cab Sav. Everything was to die for. The music and atmosphere is gorgeous. The view is spectacular. The plating was superb. Best experience ever. We would have had dessert, but had no room left! Price suits the food and atmosphere. So worth it.

Leah was an amazing server. The Seafood Salad and the Caesar's Salad were both above our expectations. Next time we're in Nelson, we'll be back. Honestly it's the Best Western's loss. We fully expected to have a late meal on the patio but they had to shut down early because of a labour shortage. Well done Sage. Great food served by an experienced professional.

Lovely gem. My spouse and I first visited Sage on our honeymoon. Now every time we are through Nelson, we are sure to stop at Sage for a romantic dinner. Best if you have time for a leisurely dinner with time to order share plates every so often while enjoying beverages and great company. If you aren't a wine drinker, you might be interested in their house made sodas

This is not a tapas restaurant. The food is excellent but simply having more appetizers than entrees does not a tapas restaurant make. The entrees are very light, you would need to order an appetizer or 2 to be full. The service was very lacking, when concerns were brought up the response was glazed eyes and a smile.
