REVIEWS OF Red Light Ramen IN Nelson

Mick O'Hare

Stopped by here with some friends during a snowboard trip. A bowl of warm ramen was the perfect remedy after powder laps all day at Whitewater. I ordered the Pork Tonkotsu Ramen and a beer. They also feature a generous menu of local beers as well as a patio for the warmer months.

Jaymes Bowman

Just had cocktails and they were well crafted. Staff was very friendly and the DJ played great downtempo to relax the mood. I’ll be back for sure when I’m in town next.

Amanda Klassen

Always a warming meal and good connections with the staff. Super friendly ????. Covid protocols in place, but still a comfortable atmosphere.

Terry Sidhu

Mediocre tasting ramen. Good size... broth has a burnt taste to it.

Ivan DeLisle

Great ramen, unconventional flavors but delicious.

Sydney Zannet

Tons of options for all dietary needs. Gluten free, paleo, vegetarian, vegan, etc. Excellent service. Clean kitchen. Great menu with lots of variety for food and drinks.

Devin

Wow, this was such a wonderful meal I’m reviewing it! This was my first time at Red Light Ramen and I look forward to coming back

David Monteith

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the hot springs, I found the ramen soup (pork) to be really tasty, the pork was extremely tender and the broth was very decent, the noodles were a touch undercooked. My only complaint would have to be the dumplings, 10$ for 5 very small dumplings, props for being hand made but i felt the price and over all quality of the dumplings to be lacking.

Abby Verigin

Delicious soup, friendly staff and gluten free options. This place is wonderful on a rainy day.

Carl Choinowski

Delicious and healthy. Great Paleo and vegetarian options. Cool atmosphere with ever-changing local art.

Adam Dickinson

Ramen was ok, but not awesome. Service was good. They had some really nice beers like the one pictures here.

Peter Cross

My family visited Red Light Ramen a week ago and I was personally really excited about grabbing ramen for the first time since touring Japan and eating plenty of noodles there but this is an untasty overly complex poor version of what is a relatively simple delicious dish. The place is all hipster and no substance and was far off the mark as far as a delicious bowl of ramen.

Eat Drink World

Nice little spot in Nelson got pork tonkotsu ramen and dumplings. The dumplings were not great the shell was very chewy and hard the ramen was pretty good noodles cooked well broth was a little lighter in flavour than most but still good come with pork belly, enoki mushrooms, cabbage and chives.

Sean M

This was truly a unique take on Japanese ramen. It's clear that effort and love went into our meal. Absolutely worth a visit, especially if you are vegetarian or as I call it ethictarian. My only criticism is a personal one: the squash broth is thicker than I like but to each their own. Looking forward to my next meal here!

Alexandra Benko

The ramen is delicious! I was super happy with my meal the beer selection. The restaurant is hidden away in an alley, and has cool Japanese-inspired ambiance. It's family style seating, with long shared benches for all the restaurant guests. Service was a little lacking, I came at a busy time and the server was a little frazzled. They gave us a good estimate of how long the wait would be though so it didn't impact my experience.

Justin Boone Helm

Best ramen I've ever had. Beautiful presentation. Cocktail menu is very well done. I live in Spokane, and this is always one of the highlights of driving up North.

Ken Postnikoff

Super cute place with excellent food! The Pork Ramen was unreal- I got mine with EXTRA Pork Belly!

Kyra von Matt

Service was fine. Noodles were hard and broth etc was not as traditional as we had hoped. Sort of a kootenay fusion according to the server. Did not try drinks but they looked very nice just were above our budget.

James Wilson

Delicious Ramen. Butternut miso pork is a must try!

Wendy and Richard Hugli

Quiet location off of baker. Fast service. It's ramen, what more can you say. Savoury, filling and reasonably priced. When you are a from the coast and have to regularly wait 1/2 hour to get into a ramen place, it's nice to come across one where there aren't 30 people waiting to get in.

Sina K. Zand

Got the tantan pork with the oat porter. Found that to be a great pair. Each bite was as amazing as the last, all the way to the last sip. Great work to everyone involved. Much love

Rayelin Asselin

Fantastic. Was in nelson for 2 nights and came for dinner here both nights! Food was amazing and service as well ☺️

Vanessa Blake

Cold winter day. Warm ramen and people.

Ryan Warfield

Stopping by in Nelson for a while, checked out Red Light Ramen and loved it! It takes a little longer to get meals than a regular ramen restaurant, but the food was great We ordered a kids chicken Raman, a poke and a TanTan pork ramen, all of which were great. The most popular choice was the poke, which was very impressive. Overall, a quality ramen restaurant. I just wish there was more nonalcoholic choices. (<( ̄︶ ̄)>

Lisa Gates

Food was great! Good prices for what you get. Ambiance was really nice and casual. Love it there. I recommend you go!!

Marissa Zezza

This ramen was so delicious, and the staff were all super friendly. I will defiently make this a must stop in nelson from now on and am stoked to explore the rest of their menu. Yum yum!

Bethany O'Rourke

Always amazing! Delicious and fresh. Love the tantan pork

Stellar service - excellent ramen with vegan and gluten free options. Spectacular cocktails and great atmosphere. It's a Nelson destination without question.

Andrew Martin

The gyoza were delicious. The broth for the ramen was full of flavour and fantastic. The noodles just didn’t seem up to par with the rest of the food. We each ordered a beer, only one was brought to the table. Inquired about the status of the drink, was told it would be brought right over and it was still not brought to the table. On completion of our meal the server stated “oh, I forgot your beer. Do you still want it?” Would return when in the area and give it a second chance.

Lawrence Hanlan

This place was pretty cool. Their menu is a twist on traditional ramen incorporating more local and seasonal ingredients which was great. However I felt that both ramens I tried really lacked the flavour and the umami you crave in a ramen. The egg could also have been better it was still cold and not gooey enough. In saying that the noodles were cooked perfect and so was the pork belly. The presentation was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. Not like a typical ramen shop where it is almost like fast food. Definitely try this place but if you're craving authentic ramen this place probably won't scratch your itch.

Therese Mah

I really want to love this place. The atmosphere is great (there is quite a bit of backless seating so be prepared for stools). Small menu looks great for meat eaters, but only one vegetarian/vegan option. And for me, the butternut-purée ramen was too fusion. It was too akin to eating instant ramen noodles out of a thick purée soup. Sad there’s no veggie option that feels more traditional with a thin broth. I’m so thirsty for amazing vegetarian ramen!

Stephen Hodge

I had the butternut miso chicken Ramen and my partner had the tofu version! Very tasty and the portion was wholesome!

Christine Pearson

I always feel healthy and well nourished after having my favorite lunch special???? Try the 1/2 Pork Tantan Ramen & 1/2 Kale caesar, sub zucchini noodles to make it lighter! Great service, cosy atmosphere

Philip Rucker

The service was great, the food was fantastic, the music was great!

Eric Harris

Ramen is getting better every year. Gyozas also fantastic and I'm a big fan of the smoothies. Price is a bit high but it's a solid meal well worth it.

Kali Seisler

Hands down one of my favorite places in Nelson. They have some insanely good ramen bowls on the menu. While I wish they had more selection on their menu, I understand that this is their first year being open, and they are a ramen BAR so their drink selection is super tight. Nelsonites love beer, and Red Light Ramen doesn't disappoint on any plane. Bring your friends for drinks paired with the world's best drunk food RAMEN! and bring your kids for a fun lunch too. Although it is technically a bar, they are extremely family friendly and won't bat and eye to your kids being there, just make sure they aren't doing running around because the tables are long lunchroom style, wish stools to sit on.

Derek Chiu

It's below average at best. I've had ramen from all over (NYC, LA, Toronto, Vancouver, Dallas and San Francisco). So my standards are high. I should have went to Marzano for dinner. I had the Tan Tan Chicken Ramen. The broth was flavourless. I had to add some salt and i ended up dipping my noodles in the dipping sauce provided with the shrimp dumplings (more on this later). A pack of seasoning in Mr. Noodles is packed with flavour if you compare it to what I had at RLR. The noodles had a nice chewiness and texture. The chicken wasn't grilled or roasted, it seemed boiled. The chicken was also flavourless which I also dipped in dumpling sauce. Was not impressed. The dumplings - served steaming hot which is great but also lacked flavour. I didn't taste any shrimp - it could have very well been filler. All the flavour came from the dipping sauce which was the best tasting thing at RLR. It was busy when I arrived at 8pm but there was one server working the tables - 5 tables and one server at the bar. I seated myself and waited 5 minutes for a menu. Food came quickly though. The thing I hate is when using the credit card machine and the tip options start at 20%. For those who don't know that you can push the % to change the tip, then they are forced to tip at 20% which the service at the restaurant was no where near that. Overall a disappointing meal.

Kit LaTigre

The food here is DELICIOUS and the cocktails are AMAZING. It's nice to have a ramen place that's local. The food quality is comparative to Vancouver and the ambiance is very Nelson... small place, hidden spot, probably a little slow service, and expensive (standard Nelson) but you get the Vancouver vibe and authenticity. I do like it but it's really expensive so I have only been a few times.

Haley Sluyter

Very yummy food, nice staff, and for a ramen restaurant their smoothies are suprisingly so delicious!

Dana-Marie Kantor

The outside of the building is very striking from both sides. However the inside is very plain with an all black bar countertop and liquor shelves it was a bit off putting. The tables are in a long community style and the serving presentation was insta worthy. My ramen we're just okay I was a huge fan of the way they did the broth and my noodles weren't cooked quite right.

Wade Miller

Food is worth it. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the cocktails. I've visited three times and the drinks each time were a let down.

Melyssa Sieber

Red Light Ramen is always a great experience. Food and prep are first class.

Sacha Hunkeler

Food was excellent! Service was slow but friendly. Washroom needs update (especially the sink).

Nathen Bowes

Both of our orders were delicious and a great size. Hope to try one of the cocktails in the future. Staff was very friendly

Ronan Haughey

Had a really fun night at the bar here with a few friends. Ramen itself was ok by the cocktails were fantastic. The noodles seemed like the 30c instant type and the broth was not that flavourful. I would still go back however for the great atmosphere and drinks!

Andrew Huculak

We stumbled across Red Light Ramen during a recent trip through Nelson. The food was simply superb. With limited Ramen experience, I'm no expert, but it was clear to us that this place takes pride in it's food. The staff were great, they even made a special treat for our dog! We will be returning, and we've recommended it to anyone heading to Nelson!

Blayden Hickey

Waited over 25 min for food, was then told it would be ready in 2 minutes and then 2 minutes later I was told that our order ticket fell on the floor and that they would start making our food, very poor service and for a ramen only restaurant to not make in-house fresh ramen noodles is a poor excuse for a ramen restaurant. Will not return and don’t recommend people go here, there are several other better options in Nelson. I much prefer Yum Son

melanie laurene

Best ramen I've ever had. We were in Nelson for a week and went to Red Light twice. Highly recommend the butternut miso pork ramen (and add Tantan!).

logamoor

I've tried my fair share of ramen over the years and hail from Calgary where the market is booming. I have to say, between presentation, flavor, and texture play, this was the best bowl of ramen I've had yet. Everything was on point, hats off to you and your operation. If you're swinging through Nelson for any reason and want an excellent meal for a fair price, this is place to go. Also, the homemade dumplings were delightful.

Bronwyn Cheyne

My new favorite place in Nelson. Delicious ramen soups, best edamame beans and great variety of drinks.

Kia B

Absolutely amazing food! I was unsure if I would be able to order anything due to a severe fish allergy but they were able to hold back the dashi in my dish. They made sure to let me know I would need to add some salt at home. Great service & delicious dishes! ????

Janet McMaster

Delish ramen! Great pork ramen with bone broth. Highly recommend.

Noah S. Mondula

Great ramen and their rum/coconut drink special was delish.

Millcent Trinidad

It was a 36 degree day and we took a gamble going for ramen but it was the best decision. Had the Tantan Pork ramen and it was 100% on point. The texture, the flavors, even the heat from the chili oil was just right. The pork belly melts in your mouth, too. Finished off with the Flawless Victory cocktail.

Jamie Merkel

This was a terrible ramen experience. We were a large party and ordered a variety from the menu and only ONE dish was good. The tonkotsu broth lacked all flavour, boiled water with salt has more flavour. In fact, I just boiled some water without noddles or anything, and without an ounce of exaggeration, it has just as much flavour as the pork tonkotsu. They seemed more concerned by the health benefits of 'activated charcoal' than the financial benefits of satisfied customers

Natalie Gauthier

Gyozas were pretty good, ramen was gross.. noodles weren’t cooked through with some still stuck together.. would have rather saved our $70 and cooked some ichiban!

Geoff Holman

So good! The best broth I have ever had.

Melanie Dawn Whitnack

Cool vibes and pretty good food but the service was lacking. Don’t ignore a table for two just because you have bigger tables you feel will tip more. I’ve been a server. It’s just rude.

Nic Altobelli

Delicious food. Friendly service.

Jonathan Colvin

Damn! Best ramen I've ever had. Had the pork (non spicy) an amazingly flavorful piece of slow cooked pork, semisoft egg and other tings in a subtle yet flavorful broth (not too salty!). Fantastic

John Holman

Delicious ramen. The Tantan pork ramen had really great flavour. Mixed drinks were Delicious if pricey. Will visit again.

Nick Soden

Awesome ramen. Truly a hidden gem tucked away. A little pricey for soup but well worth it when you see, smell, and taste the quality of ingredients and care taken in preparation.

Chris Brach

Awesome atmosphere. Ramen is off the hook tasty. GF options. Wonderful owners, great staff. Lucy was my server today and she was totally on point. Tasty beers!

Bryan MacKenzie

Good ramen, great service, decent cocktail list. A bunch of classics, wish there were a few more house cocktails. The zero proof list was really nice to see. Would go back for sure.

Catherine Raynor

The best ramen we've had!! The pork was melting in my mouth, it was so tender. The kimchi dumplings are also amazing. And if you're in the mood for a cocktail, try a painkiller, you don't regret it.

Cameron Robertson

Hipster hangout in a cool location just off the main Street. Foods pretty good, but not authentic, more like pretty good ramen with a western twist (mine was closer to a stew consistency). Tables are commune style, and they do live entertainment frequently. I give it a big thumbs up!

Peter Swisterski

Very yummy! Really great, diverse menu. The venue is fun and well decorated and the staff is super nice. Would definitely go again.

Nolan V

Went for the raw oysters unfortunately its completely seasonal. Ended up getting food else where, but did stay for their cocktails. It was good, great name (corpse reviver), and great taste. The food I noticed coming out of the kitchen while waiting really did look spectacular, if you want Ramen. Great spot.

Wonderful wonderful food.... Such a treat with so many carefully thought out elements in my squash tofu ramen! Not to mention some delicious 7$ special cocktails!

Ruby Smith

yummy ramen fusion! w an adorable interior

Leo Bartels

A fantastic experience. Half of town was shut down due to 70cm of snow but these guys were open. We had a table for 2 right by a wood fire. The group beside us had skied and snowboarder down from uphill which is just so fun. We had Raman, I had the pork with spiralized zucchini for noodles. Zucchini isn't a perfect substitute but I though I'd try it instead of rice noodles. My wife had the half pork broth, half yam broth with wheat noodles and it was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. The staff, very friendly and knew the product well. They have a very good drink selection, wonderful cocktails and good beer selection. The bathroom is clean. We enjoyed the music they played. They had good covid protocols. I've only been once but I will go again on future visits to Nelson.

Isabelle Houde

Cute location. Noodles were a bit under cooked and could have had a bit more salt. Fast service.

Ashley Egg

The food was pretty meh, and there was flies buzzing around the restaurant, trying to get at the food, and landing in my water glass. The staff were friendly and quick with the food though.

Mark LeMessurier

Amazing service great food live musice Wednesdays and Saturday's exceptional service always come here every visit menue get better and better Everytime I'm here ! Will always be my number one stop when I come to Nelson every year happy to see people my own age running a successful thriving company you all rock!!

Karen Garcia

They have some unique ramen choices that were good! It's certainly not your traditional ramen flavours. Service was really pleasant but food took a while to come out. But to be fair they were really busy on a Wednesday night! Overall a positive experience though!

Salena Gao

Great mood, great cocktails, good vegetarian ramen: We went on a Friday night and there was a live DJ playing next to us. I tried their vegan ramen which was made out of squash soup and I personally found my meal delightful. However my partner hated his ramen (I should mention that we are huge ramen fans and have tried more places than we can count). He got the pork broth one and said the broth was the worst he had ever had. However his opinion may be extremely subjective! He likes his ramen broth a little saltier and thicker. It was also disappointing that some things were not available on the menu but I'm sure it would have been different on other nights. Overall, I liked it!

Greg Amos

Great ramen, lousy staff. We ordered first and watched as friends of staff on both sides of us got their meals first. Cook brought us our bowls and said he "made it with love". Thanks buddy, 30 mins ago would've been great.

Devan Young

The go-to of go-to's for a warm bowl in Nelson, BC! Best vegetarian you-know-what I have ever had, and I have had a few! Looks nice inside, too.

Cecile Pan

Not authentic Japanese ramen but pretty unique style. Waiting time is a little bit longer than other ramen restaurants. The creamy broth and tantan pork was fantastic, the noodle was just so so. Worth trying.

Joe LeBlanc

Went for lunch with two kids. Food was good but kids portion was too small. They actually charged for extra plain noodles. Portion size of add-on was larger then the full kids meal. I would order just the add-on if I went back. Maybe mix that with a kids meal to get two. My bowl was good lots of flavour. Ordered gyozas before I noticed they were $12.50 Quick lunch with two small kids was $60. ???? The food is good full of flavour but it's not cost effective lunch stop. El taco is a good bet for a delicious lunch. Yum sum also has a good noodle bowl. Actually quite a few good noodle places in Nelson.

Jennifer St Denis

What a terrible experience. We ordered then waited 25 minutes for our appetizer which the waitress took out of the freezer with her bare hands. When we finally received our order only three of our Ramen's came. We had to flag down the waitress which took three tries before she came then blamed us for coming at a busy time! My husband finally received his dinner and the pork belly was missing from his Ramen. Very disappointing experience.....

Sovay McGalliard

The food was amazing, but the service was incredibly slow, me and my 3 friends waited 30 minutes for a plate of ramen and an entree, while the restaurant was basically empty

Vanessa Chen

Servers were nice and ramen was good, but took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. Didn't even get our appetizers until after they served the ramen an hour and 20 minutes after we ordered. The owner/manager should hire more people and manage the restaurant properly.

Reggie Love

What a pleasant experience. The waitress said the noodles were made in house. They did an excellent job with the presentation and delivered with fresh ingredients. I purchased the Chicken Miso and added a piece of pork belly. Both were super tender and flavourful, the broth was phenomenal and the added butternut squash was an excellent addition. I had arrived during happy hour and also got myself a pint of organic hemp ale for 4$. A small price to pay for a delicious local kraft beer to sip on a hot day. Anyone who is passing through or living in Nelson that hasn't explored this gem already it is a MUST!

Casandra Knooihuizen

Unique ramen in a funky setting. Food and staff were great!

Brent Planz

Ramen was very tasty. The gyoza (and dipping sauce) were the best I've had.

Rachel Yapp

Tasty, vegan options, good service. Their penicillin was good too.

Don Pinette

Really good vegan ramen and vegan gyoza. They also have some great beer on tap, lots of cocktails, and a really nice patio.

Michael Chubb

First visit on a surprising busy Monday night, service was quick and friendly. The food was obviously fresh and very tasty. Would recommend if you're in town

s dedemus

Excellent !! Such a lovely atmosphere, amazing food and great service. Another Nelson gem.

Ty Hamerski

Had the butternut squash ramen so I can't speak to their more traditional offerings but unfortunately with so many ramens available in most city's these days, this was just mediocre. Worth a shot if you're really keen for ramen but I wasn't overly impressed by it.

Mandie Cleland

The ramen here is amazing!! The pork belly melts in your mouth. Portion sizes are perfect, I always leave full and happy. Great cocktails too!

Andrew Maria Chen

Wow, 100 minutes to get appies and 4 bowls of ramen. Ramen showed up before appies so we cancelled them. Understand that this was holiday period but holy sheet, i don't think i have ever waited this long for food, Ever. Anyways, they took our beers off the tab but honestly even though ramen was good i will never ever go back. Ever.

Kelli Hodge

Not sure where to start. Best gyozas, wine, ramen, service..Awesome place with delicious food and super friendly staff, everyone needs some red light ramen in their life;)

Darylann Nelson

So good! Ate there many times, always delicious.

Eleanor Schmutz

Really tastey ramen bowels. The additon of butternut squash to their veggie broth is killer. They also have an excellent selection of cocktails. The staff was very friendly too.

Kevin Mcleod

First time there tonight, can't wait to go back. Delicious!!!

Loretta Fendrock

Well it took 65 minutes to get my ramen, it was cold... It's ramen! Don't understand to this day how it took so long for four bowls

Clayton Anderson

A spectacular meal. Great service!!

Krista Nenn

Maybe just an off night, but all four of our orders were mediocre to poor (cold, burnt tasting broth, wrong orders) and we waited 75 minutes for 4 bowls of ramen. Service was friendly but nor especially attentive. Server heard our complaints and adjusted our bill. Will try again, the menu is good and the potential is there!

James Mason

Amazing flavors and high quality ingredients in Fresh Made Ramen Soups!! Awesome service!! Highly Recommended!! Try the Specialty drinks too!!

Dekland DeCoste

Had amazing ramen here. Had the Tantan pork. Pork was cooked brilliantly and the broth is done proper. They make their own habanero hot sauce that was the perfect kick. Our server Lauren was very sweet and efficent. Needless to say this place is highly recommended. On par with some of my favorite ramen joints in Vancouver.

Jolene Walker

Best vegetarian ramen I've had - ever. Highly recommended.

the_ original_ginga Daywalker

First time eating fancy noodles .. it was a great experience! Cool drinks great tastes overall .. the young lady that waited on us was very friendly and helpful

Anne Benn

Lovely staff. Such an urban alley hideout.

Laci Kelly

I liked it. Friends said 4 stars but I think 5 stars. Very good ramen. Been to Japan multiple times.

myfukinarmhurts

The best soup and noodle bowl I've ever had. The broth that is served is so rich and complex in taste that it blew my mind (and taste buds).

Lynnda Smith

Really really disappointing experience. The food presentation was amazing and it all looked beautiful but it was cold when we got it and the drinks took 20 minutes and the food up to an hour for two bowls of ramen. Would not recommend if you want prompt and attentive service, may be a great option for take out!

Jared Toner

It's ok. Basic expensive hipster Nelson food.

Megan Hackett

We had such a fantastic lunch here today! We sat at the bar, it was so lovely to chat with their waiter/bar tender/ dumpling maker extraordinaire. They have excellent drinks, phenomenal food and very good prices. We will definitely be back again. So happy to have decided to try it out!

Todd Mansfield

You will not regret this stop, a block off the main block. Pork ramen with shrimp dumplings was an excellent combo.

Lauren Carry

Absolutely delicious, excellent service and a great great beer selection. We tried quite a few and each was better than the last. Also really great at accommodating some of our parties dietary restrictions

Lauren Gramm

My first experience here or any ramen restaurant for that matter. Let me tell you.. AMAZING!!! The staff was very welcoming and the food was amazing. It seemed like there were 2 servers working and it was quite busy when we went and they …

Gabriella Mercuur

Very interesting! Went for my first time and was so surprised by the whole experience. Found it by accident, the outside and inside are completely different, relaxed customers, lovely waitress, unique menu, and BAMM the food was fast, hot and DELICIOUS. What a cool place

Jolly Grundlemore

Delicious! This place is *close* to being 5 stars. They need to work on the authenticity of the ramen - as it seems slightly confused. A little too much going on in each bowl. Here’s my suggestion - take it or leave it: pick a particular style of Japanese or Korean ramen and stick with it. Do it well. Replicate the real thing as close as you can. I will be back because it is tasty. Side note: I did have to spend quite a bit of time in the bathroom after dining here.

venus riviera

Butternut squash ramen is delishhh. I came in a couple weeks ago and had to come in again with company to share the experience. Shared a bowl too cause it’s so filling! Service was great, super nice waiters. A bit pricey and a fair wait but worth it to get lost in a bowl of noodles.

Justin Bowman

Delicious ramen with a variety of well-made ingredients that left us all happy and satisfied. The chicken, pork and squash/miso are all excellent.

Andrew Wiebe

So so sooo good! Best ramen i've had in ages, gluten free and vegan options available too!

Justine Yiu

Came here late Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. Patio space was open and pretty with the timber beams. Shared a bowl of Tantan Pork, which they were able to split for us. Ramen was okay. The broth was not that flavourful. Didn’t get any bone flavour from it other than a slight richness from the fat. Most of the flavour came from the Korean chilli oil, which was a little too heavy and overpowering. My friend’s bowl had even more chilli oil, which made it too spicy. I like that the veggies were locally sourced, but it was all raw and doesn’t really go well with ramen. It was refreshing in some ways. Should have cooked the enoki mushrooms at least. Chashu was good. Noodles had a good chew. Also tried the Butternut Miso Pork. It was an interesting flavour. The butternut gives it a slight sweetness. Definitely more interesting than the Tantan broth, but the miso part was not a standout. Overall, not bad. I’d come back if I was craving noods. Definitely didn’t expect to find ramen here, so this was a nice surprise.

This is a hidden gem, a little hard to find but it was worth it! After a 4 hour drive and our first visit into Nelson we were looking forward to some hot tasty ramen! This place did not dissapoint! I have to say this was the best I have ever had. The chewy flavorful noodles were spot on, the pork belly was so tender and broth was very rich and flavorful. We enjoyed it so much that we made it our last stop on our way back home from the hot springs the very next day. I will drive back again just so we can have another bowl of this beautiful creation made with locally sourced organic and no GMO indgredients. Yum!

Stephanie Lauze Levesque

I dream about this ramen. Top quality ingredients in a cozy little atmosphere with a beer and cocktail menu that will leave you feeling good about your life choices.

Gerry Peters

Our first trip to the wonderful city of Nelson and after a day of plus 35 celcius we took a chance on Red Light Ramen. First the gyoza. A bit small but oh so good. As for the ramen....yes and yes! My bowl checked all the boxes and presentation was off the charts. Beautiful!

Jacob Tremblay

Awesome!!! It was super hot out so we asked them to make our meals cold. So delicious. Definitely put this place on your list of places to eat!

Mindy Fair

Ordered the tan tan chicken and tan tan pork last night. Not only was it ready quickly but the broth was still super hot when I got it home. The flavors were absolutely fantastic, perfect balance between spice and savory yumminess. Best Ramen I have had in a very long time!! Great job!

Adam Markin

You won't be disappointed unless you are just that kind of person. Simple choices which means the flavors are fantastic! An excellent choice for a hearty ramen.

Moon Mamma

Fabulous flavors! Dishes made with such intention, care, and love. Delicious offbeat high quality cocktails. You can taste it! Great vibe. Djs on Saturday nights. Good if you want to enjoy music and food while still be able to chat with your friends or date. I highly recommend. Looking forward to our next visit! Yum!
