Incredible. Hands-down the best restaurant in Nelson and the food is always worth the price. One of those rare spots where the service is consistently memorable for the right reasons. Everything is done right, from the warm atmosphere to a menu with lots of local, organic, vegetarian, and gluten-free options that isn't overwhelming or trying to do too much. Local dairy products too! Muah! I love you, Pitchfork :)

Ryan Nelson

Great staff, great food, lots of gluten free choices, lovely patio, great management

Amazing Elk Tartar. Wasabi mayo on the burger killed it. Bartenders recommended some amazing choices. Music, lights and rustic design is thoughtful and relaxed.

Oy. This is a very lovely, tree lined location. Situated in what appears from the outside as someone's home, the location tries to make you feel at home. So much disappointment. I was here with a large group and things started very strong, but went downhill very fast. The tuna tatakai was ordered by some and loved by all. An appetizer labelled "duck wings" are in fact drum-lettes. It is beyond frustrating to order something with an expectation and be presented with something completely different. This would be a theme for the night. There was a very interesting burger on the menu featuring wasabi mayo, kimchi, pickled root vegetables and bacon. I asked the server how it is cooked and his response was that it was "illegal" to cook it any other way then cook all the way through. A lot of word play. I asked if it was pink and I was told it was "juicy". My issue here is the term illegal. Although partially correct, a kitchen can cook burger meat, say medium rare, if the meat is ground in house and not frozen. It is this universal one-size fits all comment that really troubles me. I ordered it anyway as the combo sounded intriguing. I was told the poutine was famous and took that as the side. The burger wasn't all that it was hyped to be. I couldn't shake from my mind that a place like Nelson couldn't have access to local beef that they could grind in house. The "bacon" on the burger was actually what the UK would call a rasher. Similar to back bacon. Worth mentioning on your menu honestly. The burger was dry. Sorry. That should be illegal. The poutine, in fairness was described as made with duck jus and black garlic, but a good poutine needs lots of hot liquid to turn all that yummy, squeaky cheese very melty. Instead it is a very sparse reduction that leaves the cheese untouched and globular. Unfortunate. It should be noted that 3 people at the table ordered the burger. 2 had the poutine. Same feedback. Lastly, my mom ordered the special of the night: Arctic char. Arctic char is distinctive mainly for its pink colour. Some how the kitchen ran out and without consulting with my mom served her ling cod instead. Ling cod is a white fish, abundant to BC and the price difference between the two fish is pretty obvious. They didn't even have the decency to tell my mom that she was getting ling cod. Classic bait and switch. Shameful. I mentioned it started strong. The cocktails are amazing. The fig martini with blue cheese accompaniment was divine. That was the height. As a side note my wife, mother and others went for breakfast the next day and the although the consensus was the food was better, the meal was still marred by mix-ups. My mom ordered a benny that was supposed to come with an avocado salsa, but was severed a side of sliced avocado. Sorry Nelson, I get everyone and their dog has a restaurant here, but this 4.5 stars is borderline deceptive. I would stay away. Amateur hour.

Awesome food and service.

Top Shelf! The service is excellent (friendly, attentive without being annoying), the atmosphere is somehow both high end while being casual (the goal of every hipster?), but really you need to go for the food and the bartender. The food is exquisite. Flavours are well balanced and rich, dishes are cooked to perfection and the sauces are intense and complex without overpowering the main ingredient. I had my heart set on the elk, unfortunately they were out so I "settled" for a meal of appetizers. A couple (very) minor niggles: the taco in the ceviche COULD HAVE BEEN FRESHER (although the middle was phenomenal, so a minor point), and calling the I cheese merely "curds" in the AMAZING poutine was a disservice to the sharp and salty cheese. The bartender has skills as well. He was able to craft a replacement for a citrus tequila cocktail for someone who dislikes tequila but loves citrus, and courageously met the challenge of finding a cocktail that went with both the reviled egg (devilled egg twist with duck mousse) and the Jus-tine! Amazing job all round - highly recommended! Not cheap, but worth your money. Great for a date, treating yourself for a night out alone, tourists seeking a taste of the area, or guests in town.

This was the most memorable restaurant we've tried in a long time! What a unique menu... the chef is truly talented and creative with the presentation superb. The food was outstanding and fresh; the chef literally came outside and took cuttings from the mint growing right behind our table! It was a chilly day, and I was offered a blanket to enable us to sit on their deck that came complete with a beautiful mountain view. Our waitress was very pleasant and friendly, and she made us feel at home immediately. We're so glad we stumbled on this great restaurant while visiting Nelson and would go back again in a heartbeat!

Matthew Munn

Incredible food, delicious cocktails, great service, and a cool atmosphere. The perfect restaurant experience. 10/10 - will be back!

Alex Labreque

Unreal meal for brunch. My 4 year old said "dad make sure you leave a good review for this place!!" I had the breakfast poutine and it was top notch. Group of 5 all happily satisfied.

One of the best restaurants ever! It may be a pricey place to eat but it's worth every dime. I was blown away by the quality of the food, the attention to detail and the impressive flavors. Go eat there right now, you may want to make a booking first.

Meg C

Super quaint little place - we only stopped in for cocktails which were fantastic! A bit pricey for the amount you get but you won't be disappointed because they taste delicious!!

Shel Don

The food is good. The service was great. We ordered off the lunch menu. The overall cost was a bit high in our opinion. 2 drinks/2 meals was nearly $65 CAD without a tip.

Kiara Lynch

Wow ... sustainably raised sturgeon ... so good! and the patio is lovely but what I really love is that evergreen (cedar-gin) drink ... its what keeps me coming back every time :)

Coel Moltz

Beautiful patio and amazing food. Best meal I had in Nelson. The mushroom tart was our favorite. The tomato mussels and miso gravy poutine was also super yummy. Nice beer and wine selection.

Beautiful spot and a unique menu. I would have liked to see a locally inspired or seasonally themed menu. Atmosphere, and service was well done and you will need a reservation most of the time.

Pitchfork has gotten better and better every time we've gone. When they first opened things were a little hit and miss as they got a handle on the business and fine tuned their operation. Continuing to visit and try support them repeatedly was really worth it as each experience got better and better. My girlfriend and I went for New Years 2018 dinner where they had a 5 course set menu. It was phenomenal! It was perfect. They served some amazing dishes that were totally outside of the range of what any restaurant in Nelson is doing right now. Everything was incredible, from the drinks, to the food, to the service and ambiance!

Rikki Nelson

Guys!!just go here!! Best farm to table I've been to in along time!! Sooooooooo soooooo soooo good!!!!!

Wilson Yip

We were sitting by the little window at the back end of the dining room. The room was incredibly loud, to the point where my mom was having a headache. Our request for a quieter patio seating was not accommodated due to a busy evening, which left us no choice but to leave for a different venue.

James Wilson

Delicious food and great service! The lady at the bar knows her stuff!

Wendy and Richard Hugli

Top notch foodery. Who else serves venison burgers! And it was excellent; just enough of a gamey taste to remind you this ain't no regular 1/2 pound of meat. The duck leg is so tender, the meat falls off just looking at it. And the goat cheese and pumpkin seed dips are so creamy and tasty I'm still thinking about them. The bar tender is a chemistry wiz if you let him make the choices for you. This place is the total package for special and not so special occasions.

Traci R

We have been looking forward to dining at Pitchfork Eatery for a while, and we were not disappointed. We arrived during Brunch, and the menu choices were all appetizing. Our meal (very delicious burgers!) was served quickly, and it was as delicious as it was lovely to look at. The selection of local craft beer was also a nice bonus. We're very eager to plan a dinner visit in the near future.

Ben “Fatherbot 9000” Sanders

We went for a late dinner and expectations were met! Amazing flavours and a creative menu with options for vegetarians. We sat by the window which was perfect. Try the smoked olives to start!

Mary Defeo

Have eaten here several times, and never been disappointed. Fancy enough for date night, but not pretentious so you feel comfortable coming casual as well. Our party of 9 showed up for lunch on Father's Day, and they were able to move things around to accomodate us. And the food is always delicious.

R S

This is the best place I have ever eaten at. By far the best Eggs Benedict I've ever experienced in a restaurant - it's such a hit and miss restaurant dish, but this place NAILED it. I had the benny with wild mushrooms. The savory mushrooms coupled with the lemony creaminess of the hollandaise was such an incredible pairing. Coupled with home grown roasted potatoes and house made ketchup, it was a delightful, delicious meal. The whole esthetic, the background music, the staff, the whole character of this place was just perfect. Everything complemented each other. My only sad thought is that I don't live in Nelson (or BC) and it'll be forever before I return. If and when I do, Pitchfork Eatery will be at the top of my list of reasons to. Thanks for such an incredible experience!!

Troy Gibson

We found pitchfork looking for a some local flavor and wow! It looks like a hidden gem when you see it in the back of the parking lot. We did not have reservations but the bar had enough seats for the four of us and more, we got the chance to see the magic behind the bar. All of our food was delicious and pretty quick! If your in the area I would definitely get some reservations and be ready for a great meal!

Daniel Orlikow

The food is good but not great. I don’t think anything is worth the amount that it costs. Atmosphere was nice. Server seemed a bit checked out

Mackenzie Kostelyk

This place is incredible. Amazing food, and a really relaxed atmosphere. We tried every appetizer on the menu as well as a main course, and everything was delightful. Will be returning soon!

A J

Good food, but somewhat disdainful service. We were a well-dressed, middle-aged group of 2 couples. From the start we were made to feel like we were sub-par - perhaps for not being trendy tattooed hipsters like the wait staff? There was a vague disdain from the hostess, like it was our reward to secure a table. When there was a problem with one meal in the order, the server was passive aggressive, pushing back defensively, but fixed the problem. All the other meals were good.

Michael Alexander

Great vibrant ambiance on a Friday night, great food, quite the hot spot!!

nezzy (Nezzy)

Pitchfork is worth going to - grab your date, or a few friends and head to the patio on a summer eve. For this alone, it's worth a visit. It's a special spot. That said, I was underwhelmed with the food. It's okay, but not superb. I had the mushroom tart - not quite, on the combination of flavors and textures. The wine pours were frugal on the night I was there.

Peter Hess

Great cocktails. Beautiful location up the hill. Unfortunately, the outside space was closed, because its really nice to sit there. Food is excellent quality, staff was friendly.

The atmosphere is perfect for a nice dinner. Small and intimate with space between tables, warm brick and reclaimed wood make this place a new favorite for me. The service was excellent and the food was beautifully presented and delish!

Great Food! Something for everyone. Had a few dinners and service was great. Atmosphere is cool too.

Alexandra Montoya

The food was good but the service was not so great. The steak was perfectly done but the fries were just okay, fish and salad were amazing but I'd skip the duck next time. Based on the food and ambiance I'd give this place 4 stars but as a server, the service was super subpar. Sorry girl, I get everyone has off days but there's no need to bring your attitude to the table :l We asked questions but were also big spenders for a party of 4. Her exact response to me when I offered to look up the tasting notes on one of the bottles of wine we ordered was "yeah, you do that". I would never give my tables that kind of attitude... sorry!

Tasha Kirby

Stellar vibe, great patio, and delicious brunch! The poutine is amazing and the tuna dish is simply divine! I’m always satisfied when I leave this little gem of a restaurant. Solid effort from the owners and staff. ????✅

Vivienne Gan

Excellent dinner served with fresh ingredients. Would highly recommend the braised duck leg and the harvest salad. Don't leave before sampling the decadent hazelnut torte. Professional service and a laid back chill vibe.

Chenoa McMullen-Hunt

Great service and cocktails. Calamari was by far the best, love the addition of candied salmon and sauce. Mains were a massive letdown at the price. Fish of the day, tuna was just a large cold hunk on lettuce. Stick with the burger, it's a solid choice.

Buttermilk fried calamaries should be on your order list! The calamaries are soft inside and the smoked salmon just take such simple delicious appetizer to the next level. Elk tartar is not to be missed too. I'm really surprised but glad that I stumbled across such eatery in Nelson. Most importantly, the owner is a farmer/carpenter who grows many of the ingredients use. Keep up the great work!

Ok. Nothing more. Tofu bowl was overpriced. Mushrooms too oily. Cool vibe and nice service but the 30% tip option made me chuckle.

Catch of the Day was fantastic and so was the Salmon Tartare which had a nice kick of heat. The Old Growth Forest was absolutely delicious. The cheesecake and torte were beautiful and tasted sublime. Service was really good too. Magical patio and incredible ambiance make for an amazing experience.

We are older, but the music was just the right volume, and no -intrusive—great ambience, good food, excellent service—-wait staff is friendly and gentile!

Frank Piechnik

Another excellent Nelson restaurant! I travel a lot and am always delighted to come to Nelson and sample some excellent food here. I don't know why Nelson gets to have so many great restaurants, especially for the size of this town. Regardless, Pitchfork lived up to the reviews I read, and then some. The menu choices were great, the service was excellent, the food was delicious! I had the smoked duck wings for an appetizer and the elk with wild mushrooms for the entree. Fabulous on both counts! I'll be back for sure.

Really wonderful experience. I wish I'd taken more photos even though the lighting sucked for food photos. The bread with the oil and vinegar? Soooooo good. I had the Old Growth cocktail ???? which I LOVED. Beautiful smokiness. The Pitchfork burger with poutine (pictured) was fantastic. My friends had the arctic char and stuffed chicken breast which were also really well done. We "accidentally" ended up with all three desserts which we agreed were all better with some extra salt.

Best meal we had in Nelson. Recommend a reservation but really a great spot and an amazing view. My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner and they really made it feel special. Food was fantastic, service was excellent, overall a great experience.

Spencer Croteau

Nelson, a town of only around 10,000 residents, is lucky to have a gem like this. The room is cozy and rustic, food is approachable yet interesting enough that it could hold its own in a much bigger city, and the bar was stocked with great spirits and house made cordials and such. Well done.

J Michael Short

The Smoked Old Fashioned cocktail at Pitchfork in Nelson, BC. Unlike anything I have experienced in a glass. Gabriela, the bartender/mixologist serves this with a cedar plank sitting on the top of the glass, which she removes, leaving a wisp of cedar smoke. Now, for someone like me, who has a lifelong relationship/love affair with Western Red Cedar, that alone gets one's attention. But the bouquet lingers, richly over the very smooth Bourbon cocktail. And after every last drop has been savored, I was compelled to hold on to the glass, lifting it to my nose and breathing in deeply to capture that warm smokey bouquet. I doubt there is any other smokey aroma that resonates so deeply with my soul and my heart. Even now, three hours after leaving this magical restaurant (where the food was equally compelling) it lingers in my head. I imagine in the overall population, there are relatively few people so affected by the scent of cedar smoke as I am, but in the Pacific Northwestern region of the United States and Canada, I have no doubt that many of us would be so moved by it. As I said, I have never before experienced anything like this in a glass or potable beverage.

Matthew Hagarty

This place is incredible. Sweet comfy room, unreal food. I had the burger and the duck wings. Burger was definitely in my top five ever and the duck wings were UNREAL. Great service too.

Best meal I've had in B.C so far this trip. Breakfast poutine with duck. Unreal flavors, rich but balanced perfectly. Amazing drink selection with knowledgeable staff dialing in the pairings. Top notch brunch. Well done and thanks pitchfork!

Rhiannon Morgayne

This resistant offers great food and really unusual drinks. I was impressed with the healthy, immune enhancing herbs that were added to beverages. The food was great and contained many foods gathered locally, especially mushrooms. They serve options to suit everyone, meat dishes, vegetarian and vegan options. The also serve gluten free food, just ask. Pitchfork has great decor and comfotable seating. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this relatively new addition to Nelson's delightful restaurant options

Thank you so much to Kelsey and the Pitchfork team last night! The venison burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and the beautiful music from Melody and Doug was the icing on the cake of a fantastic evening. If you're ever in Nelson you'd be hard pressed to find a better meal and atmosphere. The patio is fantastic and the interior wonderfully eclectic. I'll definitely be coming back!

Service was quick and friendly plus the food is beautifully made. We had the lunch menu grassfed beef burger and the braised brisket burger - both were excellent! Fairly priced farm to table meals. Beer menu is also very good with local and coastal beers. Fancy patio area in a quiet side street as well. Would definitely come back again.????

My go-to in this town. Superb everything. Always a complete hit. They have the recipe down for an extremely good dining experience :) well done!

Ate here with my partner on Sep 14th, really nice atmosphere. Staff were all great. I heard talk of a great burger in this place so I had the Venison burger and my girlfriend had the mushroom burger. I can confirm my Venison burger was the BEST burger I've ever had. I think my girlfriend slightly wished she has ordered the fish of the day when she saw it on another table but she also very much enjoyed her meal. Highly recommended. No complaints.

Slid in at 4pm before the dinner rush. Enjoyed a late lunch of burger & beer. Food was delicious, portions were generous and service was warmly delivered.

Literally the best veggie burger I’ve ever had in my entire life. One bite and I thought I died and went to heaven. I’d go to war, take a bullet, then give up my firstborn child for this burger. No joke. We ordered takeout so I didn’t get to check out the ambience too much, but the patio looked wonderful.

Kate Filion

We shared a half order of poutine that was very delicious. The gravy was so flavourful as well as the potatoes. The cheese curds were fresh & yummy! Drinks were delightful though small portions. Overall a really lovely visit! Thank you Kristen for your recommendations ????

Had a very memorable evening here tonight! I have to say I was skeptical after some of the reviews- but honestly this really is fine dining. I own a 5 star restaurant in Revelstoke and am hard pressed to have my expectations met in other cities. Pitchfork delivered. The amoxicillin cocktail was a great start. Had the braised duck which was beautiful and crispy, with lovely veg sides, and a bowl of honey, thyme, and roasted veg soup- which was delicious. And the avocado chocolate mouse for dessert which had a berry compote with it. Terrific end to a terrific meal. We were served by one of the owners, and he was lovely. Bravo Pitchfork! Cant wait to come back!

Food was really good, just a little pricey. Don't recommend eating here if you have a baby, the booth was tiny and we couldnt even fit the car seat next to us. The waitress was not very friendly, almost had no emotion at all and didn't even say thank you after we tipped $23. But the homemade cola was the best I've ever had!

One of the best restaurants in Nelson. The food is amazing. The staff are knowledgeable, and the bartender is a gin guru.

We were looking for high quality food but it was disappointing. Start with the cocktails, the old growth Forest drink was nice, thumbs up for that. Then time for their soup which actually tasted very nice. The dinner was a big disappointment. We ordered their duck leg which was like piece of wood. The ahi tuna dish has to be categorized as a salad but was part of the mains. With four paper thin pieces of seared fish, it hardly had and protein as a main. I had ordered salads with ahi tuna and this one by far was the worst. Overall won't go back there again and do not recommend it for food. Drinks should be fine.

This was our first experience at Pitchfork and the location is pretty sweet. It was incredibly hot out and we were happy to sit inside. Lots of lovely art and woodwork to enjoy. We had a lovely crispy lion's mane and oyster mushrooms to start- super delish! I could eat them all day long. I had a wonderful lavender lemonade and my guest had a glass of Chardonnay (that she didn't particularly like). My friend and I shared a mushroom burger and fries- which was a little lacklustre. The burger itself was kind of soggy which is disappointing as veggie burgers are pretty simple to nail. Very friendly and chipper service. I would go back for sure. Looks like they will have lots of great music events post covid. Yay!

Sheila Morrison

Funky little place. Good food. We were definitely the oldest people there. Kind of a younger person's place. Service was excellent.

Robert Robinson

Another great eating experience in Nelson. We enjoyed our meal.

The beauty of this particular brunch dish was the distinctive flavors of the segregated items on the plate. Perfectly poached eggs that burst with just the right amount of pressure showering it's golden yoke onto the avocado cashew salsa below. The 'new' potatoes were seasoned and cooked just right. Lastly, the fruit was fresh and crisp. As for the venue, the ambiance was warm, the music was filled with soul and the server was authentic and grateful to be here in Nelson, as am I. As a first experience at Pitchfork, I'll be back.

Epic diner food is amazing, amazing staff wicked service definitely would recommend ????

Kyle Cassidy

Overpriced with a small selection. The food was average, not worth the price. The mussels were good. But the main dishes are very mediocre, too much dressing, bland and the tofu bowl was just disappointing. The service was very good, but there are better places to eat. The wine list was limited and over priced. Skip this one.

Pub food as art, and a wild take on some standards. Interesting, well balanced flavours. Everything we ordered was very well executed! Decent wine list that won't ruin your finances too. Luckily for my retirement fund I do not live in this town.

Benjamin Lignugaris/Kraft

Wonderful dinner. The mushroom burger is the best I have ever eaten. Sit at the bar and chat with the bartender while he shows you his craft and let the dark chocolate torte melt in your mouth for dessert.

We went for my 60th BD dinner. Shared the Calamari, both had the Steelhead Trout special and split the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was superb. The Steelhead Trout with the lobster and morel mushrooms was so delicious and perfectly prepared and seasoned. Drinks were a beer for hubby and a delicious gingery cocktail for me. The dining area was cozy and we hope to return for lunch sometime when we can enjoy the outdoor patio.

(Translated) We only spent one day in Nelson and discovered the restaurant by accident. The food was good. Unfortunately, the service has arbitrarily increased the tip from 10 to 15%. I was completely taken by surprise. It remained a negative memory! Pity! Schade!

Great dinner here. Mushroom burger was great. Patio was heated and had a lovely ambiance. They had live music which was great! We will be back

Fantastic restaurant! Features many interesting and unique dishes. One bite and it's easy to tell they work with high quality ingredients. I had two vegetarian dishes that were both delicious and thoughtfully put together. It has something for every diet and preference. Nelson has many great restaurants and this is definitely one of them.

michele Cassavante

Exceptional! The braised duck was as fine as anything I would find in the à Dordogne in France. Amazing. Like a confit de canard. Cannot say enough good things about the wonderful cuisine

Oxana P

Love it! Great atmosphere, great service, great background music. Mussels are to die for with a mouthwatering chorizo sauce. Great selection of cheeses in a cheese platter. Really enjoyed this place and highly recommend.

They wanted a gratuity. I thought for what? Keeping us waiting 30mins or the further 30mins waiting for drinks. We waited an eternity for out individual bills. Decided there and then that in all consiusness I couldn't.

Great food, awesome portions and the atmosphere was fantastic. The only setback was the server. She was not overly friendly and seemed to be rushed. Maybe they were short staffed? She wasn’t rude or anything just appeared slightly inconvenienced by customers.

Outstanding meal, great service, fantastic wine. It's everything I hoped Nelson could be, should be, would be.

We got a recommendation from a local to try this place. Did not disappoint. The decor is fantastic, intimate and warm. Our server Jai, was spectacular. He made out cocktails, which were incredible. Talked about the restaurant and was all around an excellent host. The food was delicious. We both got the catch of the day. It's always amazing when a restaurant can take an amazing fish and blow you away with the sides. I don't even like potatoes and I wanted to lick the plate. Will definitely be back and will recommend to all my friends.

Tiffany Brown

I love this place. Every time I go the people are so kind and the food is exceptional!!! Highly recommend

It's a pleasant location to spend the evening, and the food is very good.

T O

From all the reviews I was expecting to be wowed...but was quite disappointed by our dining experience this evening. The quality of fish in the salmon tartare dish did not taste fresh at all. From someone who grew up eating fresh fish on the westcoast, I would not expect a restaurant claiming “farm to table” having to mask the freshness with an abundance of sauce/aioli. The mushroom burger was mediocre.

Shane Lobsinger

Very professional service, very tasty food and cocktails. Small but well chosen wine list, great patio with a view of town, and neighborhood kitties carousing with the outdoor patrons. The garden salad was actually the standout dish for me, high quality produce for sure. Maybe a little pricey, considering the abundance of equally great but lower priced food in this town.

Brian H

Fantastic. Great food. Excellent flavours. Great drinks. Wonderful staff.

Patrick H

Superb all-around food and drink. Uncommonly great cocktails with some great food. Both my spouse and I remarked on one of the best soups we'd ever had. And a filthy good burger too. The heated patio is the finishing touch. Thanks for the wonderful dinner.

Erik Kerslake

Wow, this place is totally over rated. Let's start with the terrible service. Stuck three of us at a table for two. Barely had any room to manoeuvre. We we're next to the DJ guy who went up the hill to smoke a joint then we had to watch him stuff his face with food. Not to mention the speaker was too loud. Now the food, very disappointed. Cut of beef was so tough you could hardly chew it. The tartar was a grayish mush that looked so unappetizing looked scary to even try it. Calamari was soggy and had a ridiculous fusion smoked salmon thing going. The duck over cooked. Told the owner and he only had one response. Nobody else says that. Most people are afraid to say anything even though it's unreasonably pricey for what you get. This place would last about 30 seconds in Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto. Definitely faux fine dining. It fits in well though in the over priced , low service ,over rated, sub standard culinary expertise in the Nelson restaurant scene. I've dubbed it Nelson fusion. Where it just doesn't work.

If your looking for great service from Max and charming atmosphere with the best eggs Benny and Mimosa check this place out you won't be disappointed. Oh so so good.

Asha DeLisle

Most of the food here was pretty good. The only complaint I have is that there was way too much hollandaise on my eggs benedict and it drowned everything else, but the hollandaise itself was nice.

Justine Yiu

Had Sunday brunch here. Patio is positively beautiful. Service was slow and a little sassy though. The slow service was understandable, but the attitude from one of the servers bringing our plates was not appreciated. Had the Wild Mushroom Benny ($16), which was delicious. Eggs were perfectly poached and I loved the touch of dill. They don’t do substitutions so I added a side salad ($6). It was good, but not worth the price. The server asked if we wanted ketchup and hot sauce, which I thought was free, but apparently it was an upsell for their homemade versions. Both were $1 each and he gave us each our own set. Really didn’t need that much for the table. Would’ve been happier with regular ketchup. I’d come back again to try the burger and experience a live show here, but make sure to always ask about extra charges.

I have been wanting to try the burgers here for a while. I should have come sooner as it was phenomenal. Sometimes the littlest things make the biggest difference.. like the toasted bun. The other things like the aioli and great bacon when does the killer Burger. Also.. terrific exemplary service!

It is now 2022, I know in my heart I should have written this review earlier. Having just received a note from Google that I now have 10,000 followers of my reviews. Who would have thought? It has prodded me to get caught up on my reviews. I have been visiting Nelson for the past 60 plus years, I have seen both the good and not so good in the evolution process Nelson is going through and has gone through. Most of my time in Nelson is spent on the grandmother’s farm in Blewett. During my visits I very much look forward to enjoying the many fine eating establishments in the area. Unfortunately, this restaurant The Pitchfork I will not be able review, due to what I believe is Bigoted, Bias, and Discrimatory behavior toward individuals who have physical disabilities. In August of 2021 I was visiting my grandmothers farm in Blewett. While visiting, one of my favorite restaurants in Nelson is BiBo’s. I was disappointed that it was no longer open, but pleasantly surprised to see that new owners had taken it over and it is now The Pitchfork. I looked online at their menu, it looked quite nice. I proceeded to call, and make a reservation, during this call I asked if they had Handy Cap access, The lady who took my call said No, but that if I wanted, I could get take out. I responded to her, how would that work, as you do not have handy cap access how would I pick up my order. CLICK!! The line went dead. This is the exact same response I received from their neighbor restaurant the Black Cauldron; they must share the same hostess. The following day I reached out to the City of Nelson. I wanted to know if there were any City Ordinances around handy cap access. As there was a new owner and quite possibly some renovations completed, were there any requirements to provide handy cap access. I will spare you all the details of the conversation. The just of the conversation, is the new owns were fully aware of what could and could not be done with in the building codes, so as to avoid having to provide handy cap access. Yes, the city had a discussion with the owners around handy cap access. The city was open and willing to support handy cap access. The impression the person who was part of this discussion came away with, was that the owners had NO interest providing this access. I cannot comment on the food here, what I can share is my experience of being discriminated against due to a physical disability. So as 2022 moves forward, and you are making dinning decisions, please know that in patronizing this establishment you are supporting a business that openly and willing/knowingly discriminates against individuals with physical disabilities. They are not alone, their neighbor restaurant The Black Cauldron, I had the exact same experience at. The good thing is that there are many eating establishment in Nelson that welcome people with disabilities. The Pitchfork in my opinion is not one of them.

Delicious! Love the atmosphere

Thomas Laboucan-Avirom

Like the gentle mid-summer's eve, we came upon this nestled gem. The ambience of string-lights, cheery hostesses, and dj beats engulfed my girlfriend and I at first, but once we accepted this was indeed genuine and not a put-on, we melted into the night like the Arctic char and steak-frites melted in our mouths. From oyster mushrooms, ciders, and entrees, we enjoyed the culinary as well as the luminary. Capping it off with a digestif, we decided the whole dinner was truly the cherry on top of a Nelson cake. All the more delicious with the outside seating. Many thanks and recommendations.
