Tried a roasted garlic pizza for the first time from Louie's on Christmas Eve, as our regular pizza place had closed early. Was NOT impressed at all. There seemed to be no seasoning on the pizza, toppings were very thin (and the guy I spoke to said he would make sure there was plenty of spinach on it, as I requested), very bland and almost inedible. The worst pizza I've had in a long time. Will stick to Leo's in Nelson, from now on, those are pizzas you can consistently expect to be good with LOTS of flavor and very generous on the toppings. Would not recommend Louie's for pizza, based on this experience.

Went with my Dad and we both had ribeye steaks. They were incredible. Service was amazing. It was quiet which was wonderful. I would go bank in a heartbeat.

One review says "best steaks in town". My husband would not agree. He says "best steak in the West Kootenays" . Excellent service, prompt friendly and knowledgeable. The halibut was perfect! Yes, we will definitely be making the drive again.

Louies Steakhouse was so spectacular that my boyfriend and I came here twice on our first visit to Nelson for a boarding trip to Whitewater for the day. Our favourite is the Yorkshire Pudding appy but all the in house sauces to each plate burst with flavours complementing every dish. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the service great. It is worth every dollar! I highly recommend.. not missing it! Can’t wait to come back. Cheers!

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Nelson, surprisingly enough! Their menu is delicious, service is awesome, cocktails are grand! I started eating meat during COVID and I have fallen in love with their steak. The filet mignon is always spectacular and on point. (Try the sandwich version, it's to die for!) I have spend COVID times and my lack of travel trying every restaurant in the Kootenays and this is the one I keep going back to! I will update my review with photos the next time I go, but I highly recommend this place. A++++ will be back soon!!!

I agree with others. We went for grad and bought all the best dishes.. it was 100 dollars a plate .. and not worth it. I get to eat some fancy meals here and again and compared to other high cost dinners this one has nothing interesting happening. Usually I'm very impressed, but not here.

The food was delicious! My only critique would have been that I wish the chicken was a little more saucy. The waiter was absolutely lovely & personable. We will certainly be back.

The food was good but the prices don't match the quality on all menu items. The service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful even for our family of 4 (two kids under 10). We will go back but will try other items on the menu and hope they are better matched to the price.

The food was amazing. The service was quite possibly the best I've ever had. The servers were speed walking. My drink was never empty, and the next one was there almost immediately after I ordered. Very very satisfied. Will certainly be returning next time I'm in Nelson.

You really need to experience this gem. The chief's specials are the place to start, however if you have any questions the staff know all the dishes from personal experience and can help you with your selection. I had the lamb shank. I have traveled the world and this is within the top 3 meals I have ever had. If you are looking for honest good food, this is the place to go.

I just love eating here. All the staff are so friendly and on top of their game, they will stop and chat but service is always the top priority. Mature knowledgeable staff is such a huge element of a great dining experience. And of course the food is fabulous in taste, quality ingredients and presentation!

Second steak dinner in two months. First one was amazing..especially perfectly done vegetables that were as good as the gorgonzola filet! Last one I ordered the same meal and it was a huge disapointment! Less vegies and very mediocre/overcooked, gorgonzola was so bad I scraped it off, husband did not like the ceasar salad. Bill for 4 people was $450.00 (with wine) and did not reflect the quality one would expect. Will not return.

Our food was very good but there was one giant problem. The service was horrible. It took at least 30 to get our drinks and over an hour to get our food. A local patron actually stopped at our table to tell us it was not usually like this. That was so nice! But the establishment hardly acknowledged it.

We had a whiskey sour and London ash, both lacked flavour. We shared a mushroom truffle risotto, lacked richness that you usually have with a risotto. Our mains were Tuscan linguine and again it was subpar. Unfortunately this would not be a restaurant we would go back to. Heard other quests say their meals were delicious, maybe we just ordered the wrong items.

Oh my goodness we cannot say enough great things about Louie’s. We both had the filet mignon burger and it was nothing short of fantastic. And their chocolate truffles were amazing. I highly recommend it. The only thing I would suggest is ordering your steak a little underdone for what you’re hoping for. Ours were a tad over cooked. However the flavour was so good it didn’t even matter. Can’t wait to go back :)

Worst Caesar salad ever. Tasted like Kraft dressing. Steak was cold, topped with a cold slab of Gorgonzola butter. Potato skewers were served with an “aioli” that tasted like plain mayo. Tasted like what they put on the Caesar salad. Took forever for the food to arrive. Incredibly overpriced. $41 for a 5 oz steak??? Will never return.

A fabulous steak house! Was not expecting steak on this level from a smaller town restaurant but it definitely surpassed my expectations. The steaks are aged to 29 days and are wonderfully tender, and the peppercorn newyork had great flavour! The Calamari was great as well. Super friendly staff, and very fast service!

Really great menu with high quality ingredients. Great setting, looking out at the mountains and water. Ambiance was perfect - music perfectly set - able to converse easily yet privately at our table. Servers were attentive and helpful without being intrusive. Great evening from start to finish...a hidden gem to celebrate our 20th anniversary.
