Went in mistaking it for another place, but I'm glad I did. They had been closed for 10 minutes and the bartender still let us enjoy their fantastic wings, and the best cider I've ever had. We will for sure be back, maybe even when they are open.

Amazing steak sandwich at bargain price. Best burgers in town, and that is saying something. For vegetarians, try the Asian Noodle Salad. Yummy. Nice house wines and great local beers. Very nice setting and ambiance. Fireplace. Stone walls. Wood decor. They also have an outdoor patio. Great service. I accidentally left a potted plant there (birthday dinner gift) and they kept it for over a week. They were very gracious and watered the plant for me. Nelson has great restaurants and this is one of them. Note that some main courses can be a bit pricey but I can say I have never heard anything bad about their food and I have lived here for 15 years.

I have been here a few times. Mainly for the prime rib Fridays. This is a great deal as it includes a salad starter and the menu doesn't tell you this. I will say that the prime rib is hit or miss, with my most recent visit being a near miss. However, I have now problem recommending this place. Great service, great food, great cocktail list, and a bright and sunny patio.

Had drinks here. Bar-Tender was quick and efficient. Friendly enough. Drink prices are a bit hoitey toitey for the area but were also nice. Would like to see a daily or weekly cocktail or drink special. Loss of points. Plastic Straw and Plastic Olive Skewer. Let's move away from single-use plastic waste.

Service was great at Jackson's Hole. Husband had the steak special which was delicious. Yorkshire, vegetables and spuds all tasty. Caesar salad was unremarkable and it appeared that the Calamari was cooked then left under a heat lamp for some time. Cocktails were really good and the decor is nice.

Nice patio during the early afternoon in shade. We could park the dogs just off the road patio and let them lay close by which was nice. Gluten free option if the Thai chicken lettuce wraps were tasty enough and staff was very friendly and helpful.

Was really excited to visit Jackson Hole as the reviews looked great...so so disappointed! Waitress was rude...tried to remember 5 orders no pen or paper 1 order came wrong...fish and chips was horrible ...stale...chips over cooked...I was totally polite and offered feedback to our waitress...”probably the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had”... Her response “that’s ok you can say whatever you want to me I didn’t cook it” WOW great attitude! Will not be visiting again

A decent bench mark for pub food. Not a daring menu in any way as they try to appeal to a wide range of customers, yet the food is consistent and leaves me feeling as though the cooks know how to keep you from getting sick and that is more than I can say for a a couple of the other pubs/bars in Nelson. If you want to eat pub food then this is the place I recommend first. Best to avoid the others. The three star rating is based on my high standards for all restaurants and there are a lot of better places to eat in Nelson if you are willing to go for a more specific style of menu.

I ordered over the phone at just after 3 for a pickup order of calamari at 4:45pm. I walk in and ask for my order and it's not in the system. The girl who took my order disappears to the back to "check on it" while the bartender notifies me that there is only an order for Susan in the computer. So he puts in the order for me and I wait. I get this container of calamari which for 13 dollars was quite small in my opinion... none the less the last time we had calamari here (3 or 4 years ago) it was amazing! My husband and I take one bite. NO salt. No flavor. None. I have never in my life had seafood that doesn't taste like salt. Water has more flavor. The ONLY redeeming thing is the tzatziki. Money down the drain. Seriously think this is going in the garbage right now. The only thing that gave this two stars is the wonderful bartender who was very pleasant and kind.

Stopped in for a quick lunch with my husband today as we stopped through and the service was fantastic! Our server Mariah was very attentive to our needs and had a great personality for the job! At the end we found out that the playlist on that day( which we looooved) she created and we mentioned that it was good, then when we were paying she came back with her username on playlist on Spotify I so we could find all that songs which was super a nice and unexpected! Being in the industry myself I tend to be very critical when it comes to service standards but this place nailed it! Not only was our server great but the food was also great as well!! You can really tell that they put a lot of care into their menu, using lots of fresh ingredients and having a variety of dishes to choose from. Definitely a great deal for what you pay. And lastly the atmosphere was maybe my favorite!! I love the decore and the music playing that day was the perfect fit, not to mention everything down to the glassware was very clean:) all in all a perfect 5 star performance from our perspective! Keep it up!

Good service, good food, reasonable prices. Enjoyed the chicken wings and Jackson Hole burger. Was enough for two people to share and be comfortably full. Nice patio on sunny days and some comfortable window seats to people watch from if you'd rather sit inside.

I used to come here all the time as a kid, but then adulthood came and then bills came and I never got to go. But I finally did again with my mom the other night and still pretty good! My mom had some problems with her food. The coconut curry was very bland and weird so she sent it back. They did deduct it from her bill which was very nice. She ordered pork bits and the noodles that came with them were ice cold instead of hot. But they tasted amazing. Waitress was very attentive and kind. Still a good restaurant!

Standard pub food menu, big portions, great service! The half portion of nachos was HUMUNGOUS. Picture to follow! The burgers are massive as well. Fries are like fast food fries. It is typical flavours for "pub food" so you won't see anything t elaborate but the nachos come with a house made "queso beef dip" that was very delicious! Nice relaxing place. Server Dom(inica) was awesome! Nice lounge to hang out, good drinks, questionable music choices (they switched from the alternative cover bands to country and I don't like country) Covid dividers between booths and social distance tables. Yay indoor dining is open again! June 4 2021 Anyways it's a good place if this is what you're looking for :-)

In town for 2+ days. Reviewed Google reviews of various eateries, looking for a place for dinner. Noticed that on virtually every negative review to which the owner responded, the blame was always placed on the customer, including 10 (?) claims of food poisoning. After 35+ years in various management positions, I find the lack of responsibility and accountability to be amazing. Won't be stopping here.

J-hole has a classic old school theme with a great atmosphere that is created by charming bartenders and wait staff. The majority of the food is made from scratch and many of the dishes on the menu are personal creations of the cooks themselves. My favourite overall feature are the chilled glasses at the bar, nothing like a frosty pint.

Came for a quick lunch today. Had an order of wings as i usually do at a pub. Salt and pepper. Wings were quite good. More heavily breaded than i would have liked (as that is a personal preference) however they were delicious and crispy. The burger that we had was awesome. I would have eaten another one in the same sitting. I agree that it could very well be a Nelson award winner. Mariah was our server and she did a fanatic job anticipating our needs. Very impressed. Will be back.

Location and service was a five, neat historic location. One of us had soup and salad. It was fantastic. The other had a burger and fries however the burger was just average...not quite the quality you would expect from a place like this. Overall still definitely worth a visit.

We had our office lunch here, and could order alot of different stuff. Their Nachos with the homemade sauce, even some mexican restaurants do not have that great taste. The deluxe burger, chicken wraps and the salad servings are great in taste in seving size. They also have good variety of beer and other drinks.

I was going to give 4 stars because of their limited beer list, but this lil place did deliver on every other aspect. My bartender was attentive and the servers were sociable even tho i wasn't at their tables. Nice ambiance as well. I would consider it Nelsons style of an Irish pub.

Terrible food. The curry chickpea bowl taste and look was something I'd never imagine a restaurant serves. The prawn bowl was a touch better. If you want to imagine the taste, it's like a person starts cooking with no clue on what goes with what. The presentation looked fine to start with but imagine rice grains swimming in yogurt with taste of curry.

Visited post covid for the extended patio, sunset drinks and live music. Reasonably priced, our server was casual and fast without being overbearing. My husband and I visited Jackson's tonight for dinner. Despite it being packed, our service was incredibly friendly and everything arrived quicker than we had anticipated. Our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered (medium). It appeared the staff all worked really well together and worked to help each other out to give the customer a seamless experience. Well done, Jackson's!

Good vibes inside and friendly staff, but the food took 45-50 minutes to come out (it was busy but not packed), and my "Nelson's Best" steak sandwich had entirely un-toasted garlic toast which was soggy by the time the food made it out from the kitchen. The steak itself and potato wedge side were quite tasty!

Nice restaurant /pub in the Nelson restaurant district. Service was friendly and COVID conscious. The mussels were fantastic, the Carbonera very good. My wife said the salmon burger was okay but not as good as we get on the coast. Clive went above and beyond by promptly mailing my sunglasses I forgot to my home in Nanaimo. No charge just excellent customer service!

Server didn’t tell us that the prime rib special was available, saw the board as we were paying. When asked, server said we should have looked at the board before we were seated outside. Plus there was no ice cream cake available, which was on the regular menu.

The tomato pesto linguini with shrimp was really good but could have had a few more shrimps. The garlic toast was one of the best we have had. Definitely recommend it!

Was coming from out of town and this was the first place to pop up with good reviews. I ended up coming here for dinner. As soon as I arrived I was told I’d be waiting for 45 mins. This of course is not the businesses fault, and a long wait can usually be accredited to good food. After being seated I was immediately disappointed to see a piece someone’s appetizer still left on the table (lettuce). Again, I brushed that off as it was busy. I then noticed the table was sticky. I decided it wouldn’t matter if the food came out well. I ordered the steak, medium rare. It came out medium well. As a trained line cook I was completely disappointed. Then, being demanded $30 for a steak cooked terribly wrong. However; the vegetables and rice were nice and packed with flavour. And the table service was quick and friendly. Now, I’m not saying it is a terrible restaurant. It may have been just the night. I’m willing to give it another chance. Take caution with what you order, but enjoy the atmosphere and culture!

Got my order wrong and then charged me to fix it. Staff was rude and the atmosphere seemed really judgmental and gross. Food was mediocre at best. Very disappointed.

The burger was a little on the small side and was generic at best. Not bad but just not good either. The coconut lime curry was a small portion with hardly any veggies and just like the burger there was nothing wrong with it but it just wasn't good either. Overall it seems to have a good atmosphere but don't expect anything other than generic pub food.

Excellent Ginger Beef Bowl, as well as Spicy Chicken special. Turtles cheesecake was good, but large piece and very rich.... so make sure you have someone to share with!

Sorry to say but the prime rib was not prime rib it was a steak,also EVERY THING was cold. The waitress was really nice and gave us 50% off Bless her.
