Finley's is a great place to eat, drink and spend time with friends. Some of my favorites on the menu are the burgers and the chicken lettuce wraps! It's great that Finley's is family friendly until after dinner time. My teenage daughter loves to go with me for wings on wing night. The service has always been friendly and prompt. Thanks for being awesome Finley's!

edit: ive been on the line waiting to order for 20 minutes and she didnt even bother to put me on hold, claimed she was "processing something" and would only take aa minute. ended up hanging up because she was chatting with other workers and customers and still wasnt picking up the phone after around 25 minutes. took around 5 other orders while i was on the phone. why doesnt such a popular place have someone whose job is just to take phone orders? edit 2: called back, got a different server and was served immediately. background nouse is still very loud though, that should be fixed. edit 3: removing my comments about the portions because it no longer holds true. not only did i get left on the line, when i finally got my order (cauliflower wings) they were soggy and the box was the smallest takeout boxes available and it was only about half full. i paid 20$ for it and on the website it clearly says "a pound of fried wings" with no distinction whether this applies to cauliflower or not. this isnt the first time this has happened either, the lettuce wraps and calamari are also tiny portions for way too expensive.

This place has the best mouth-watering peppered steak dish I have ever ordered from a pub restaurant style kitchen!!! I mean I even tipped the kitchen personnel higher than the server. They prepared one delicious meal for me, she brought it out to me. That one meal alone is worth every penny! I was just a single traveler come in and order a couple pints of bc brew and "hmmmm, should I order a steak entrée " I thought to myself... What the heck I'm on vacation. I'm pretty sure I made that person(s) day because I made sure his manager was pleased with his staff that evening. They prepared a lovely meal for me and boy was I ever convinced. Just juicy mouth watering delicious food. And I even ordered my steak just to be medium cooked. Perfect. I hope he or she read this review and continue to smile on a meal well made. Thank you for your efforts. Keep up the delicious professionalism!

Staff was very friendly, food was okay. Ordered the quinoa salad with a skewer of shrimp. There was more dressing and spinach rather than quinoa which made the whole thing quite mushy rather than light. My husband's burger was tasty. Decor could do with a facelift. We sat in the back where there's a good view but quite warm on a sunny day. The front patio would have been a better option. They did observe safety procedures which was great!

I will never go back. After spending a decent amount of money (dinner, drinks, dessert) we were getting ready to pay and my kid got up from the table to dance on the empty dance floor. To be clear she was not being loud, just dancing. Quickly a wait staff came over to inform me that kids are allowed but only sitting at tables and she would have to sit. Right away I went to get our coats and before I had the chance to dress my kid for the cold outside the wait staff came back again, (my kid was not sitting, but we were clearly getting ready to leave) And she still felt compelled to come back and again tell me we now had to leave because she was not sitting at the table. SERIOUSLY?! This is no way to treat a family on their way out the door, terrible business. Do not recommend

Literally charged a buck on credit card after they forgot extra salad dressing on a take out order. I walked back in and after asking nicely, they still charged me for their mistake. Not very friendly either.

Super Bowl night, Finley’s was well staffed, busy, and friendly! Every other night, the sad place was POORLY staffed, unfriendly, and very xenophobic. I strongly recommend looking for other places to recreate. 2 stars earned ONLY from the anomalous one night of international welcome. Otherwise, yuck.

This review relates to an incident years ago that is still negatively effecting my life. A group of friends and I went into Finley's for drinks. They took my credit card as collateral on the tab or something. My credit card was one of those CIBC Tim Horton's Double Double cards with 2 LEDs and a button on it. At one point during the night the waitress came over and informed us the police were on their way to arrest us for using a fake credit card and being unable to pay the bill. I demanded that they bring me a debit machine and my credit card and told them I will pay for it all right then and there. The waitress brought my card back but it was completely destroyed. The staff at Finley's had peeled the front and back off of my card, rendering it useless, because no one that worked there had ever seen one of those special CIBC credit cards. They decided it was fake because of the button on it and the LEDs which indicated whether it was on "Tim's Card mode" or "credit card mode" and because of how easy it was for them to destroy it. I had to phone family from jail to explain to them what happened and ask for money to pay for the drinks. Of course my family didn't believe the bar staff would destroy my credit card so they let me sit in jail to teach me a lesson. I ended up being charged with fraud by the Crown, Finley's pursued no charges. The credit card was so badly damaged and unusable that I could not prove it was a real card in court, so I was convicted. I can not find work or housing now because of what the staff at Finley's did to cause my criminal record. They have ruined my life all because they felt the need to destroy my credit card since they had never seen one like that before. Anyone who goes there should be careful about giving your card to the staff, pay for each drink as you get it to make sure your card stays safe.

Friday nights at Finley's are a must-go. Live swing music plays until 9-ish and the crowd is welcoming. This is great for both experienced and new dancing couples. Friendly service here!!

We went to Finley's Bar and Grill with a group of 20 (9 adults and 11 kids) our servers were amazing and handled all of the orders and the kids orders with a smile even when literally taking the orders from the kids. We saw a shirt that said Voted Nelson's best burger and ohhh let me tell you every burger that was ordered was delicious. I ordered the beet burger and highly recommend it. Everything ordered that night was really good and the whole group was very happy, like when can you please that big of group. The chef even came out to see how everything was and he was so friendly and great. It may not look trendy but everything that actually matters gets a 10.

Was an okay experience, girlfriend and I were sat in a beautiful back area outside, that was great, and the waitress started out quickly and friendly, and after our first drink, she slowed down, came back once for our order, I ordered a steak sandwich and got a pretty gross pulled pork with cheese sandwich that made us both sick, and we told her and she denied it, she dropped the bill off and left, and was to busy walking around the empty restaurant and flirting with the bar tender to even say anything after. My girlfriend had a decent burger so that's why I gave it 2 stars, wouldn't come back.

WORST PLACE IN NELSON! First week in the small so called hippy jewel of B.C. My buddy recommended I come here to have a good time on the Monday night open mic night here. Purchased the overpriced torchlight brew pitcher and drank most of it myself then left the money on the table for the waite staff who poured the pitcher. Went up to dance and perform on the stage a set. After was confused to see my cup moved to a different table money for the beer missing from the table. I assumed it was taken by staff. Later after a few smokes came back to my table to have the waitress ask for payment. I told her I had payed. She disagreed. I attempted to leave. She intimidated me at this point by threatening police action insisting I pay or leave my Yamaha guitar there and my wallet. I tried to difuse her argument by co-operating. The result being me in handcuffs held in custody after the NPD imply fraud was commited. They run my name and my buddy paid the alleged bill I owed. I weeks later contact staff and attempt a resolution in person explaining my side of the story and was given insult to injury. These people that work here are a piece of work. The people in charge are no good. New people in Nelson avoid this bar there is only a story similar in store for you if by chance you risk a "good time here"

Great service, happy hour menu was yummy. Fried pickles for $5, $4 pints 3:30-5:30pm. Our server, Kenzie told us a lot about Nelson and suggested her favorite beaches to explore. We were on the front patio so we could be near our dog but next time I’d rather be on the back patio over looking the river. It was beauty. Thanks!

Not too busy on Wednesday night, so we could carry-on a conversation at normal volume. Clean pub, friendly staff, reasonable prices, wings were great! Only downsides: 1. double-check your bill, I ordered 2 lbs wings to share as they had a special on, but charged me full price for both and I only noticed when I got home (my own fault but ...) 2. Personally, I would like the staff to be better trained at proper Guinness "pour and serve" protocol. But hey! At least they have Guinness on tap! Otherwise, Karaoke night is entertaining in its own right! Haha! I definitely recommend this place!

Caught the end of a live big band jazz set here which is what drew us in. They have 2 pool tables that were both in use but would be fun to play on. The dance floor space has a disco ball that i would love to see in action another time. Enjoyed a cocktail called Bees Knees that was refreshing and different than most. The only confusion was when our server sold us on a pitcher of lager for $13 because two in our party wanted a beer.. but when we paid the server split it $9 by $9 between the two, which they didn't think of until they had already paid so we didn't bother. But when you sell something under the appeal of it being a good deal/less money... honor that. She was very friendly otherwise.

I have supported this restaurant for so long, I live in High River Alberta and drive to Nelson for vacations every couple months and usually this restaurant is my go too every time I arrive but after tonight’s experience I will never go back in my life. The service was absolutely horrible, speaking as a previous server, i have never been so disrespected in my entire life and never made to feel so uncomfortable. If anyone is thinking during Covid to eat or drink here eat, go anywhere else. We were all vaccinated, and showed proof of ID and 7 employees harassed us to leave after my mom stood up without having a mask on immediately. We all are exhausted of Covid and especially speaking from a now health care worker exhausted of all the regulations but I have never been treated the way I have been from the employees that work here. Again go anywhere else to eat or drink in Nelson Bc.

Finley's is my home away from home. Nelson's best pub. This menu is unbelievable - the Duck Poutine on Yam Fries is outrageous. The Club Sandwich, the Raspberry Cheesecake in a cup. So good!!! Karaoke is amazing - Nelson has so many talented singers. Just a fun place to go!

First time at the restaurant. Nice place and space. Great view off the back patio. However wasn’t all that impressed with our meal. Our poutines were ice cold our cheese didn’t melt, the fries were crispy and had potential but died on the plate waiting for the rest of the plate if to catch up. Unfortunately no one checked in to see how our meals were. My friend paid as it was her treat and she was excited and had me wanting something warm and hearty yet it really wasn’t worth the cost of the bill and the extra cheese cried we paid for not to melt the slightest bit.

After paying over 20$ for a barely satisfactory meal, I was told I had to pay 25 cents per container if I wanted to take my leftovers home. To top it off it took 3 containers for the remnants of one plate, as the containers were tiny! Will not go back.

I couldn't find an Irish food item on the menu. Not even a stew. Serving Guinness beer doesn't make you an Irish establishment. Seriously get something Irish on the menu just one stew

Was very disappointed we have made a yearly trip to Nelson and would make Finleys our go to place for dinner we sat down and waited for 30 min then the owners father approached us and told us his daughter doesn't support motorcycle riders and they had apparently called the police He also made it very clear that they do not serve or allow any members of the veterans military personal that you to Uptown sports bar the employees were amazing and the best service and attitude we have ever had It's really sad to see the father at Finleys hid behind his daughter instead of just telling us as soon as we walked in sorry guys we can't serve riding clubs They were very rude and discriminating towards veterans and other organizations was very disappointed and embarrassing They need to learn people are people and you need to treat everyone equal and if this situation comes up again make it clear at your business there is a dress code and then you will have 0 issues

Myself and 2 friends drove from vancouver to nelson for a skiing trip. We arrived in finleys around 11pm and i asked for a double whiskey and coke and my friends just had water. Once i tasted it i knew it was only a single and my friends agreed, so i approached the english bar man about the drink and he got all defensive and angry, as if he knew he was caught out. So after a very small disagreement an older english guy that works in the bar came over and took the barmans side as he musta been his father, he also tried the drink and said it was a double knowing very well that it wasnt he was just protecting the barman. We left straight after this and we will never be back in finleys bar again, when you pay for a drink you expect to get it and not try to be coned out of it. Word of warning to anyone else passing through just to check your drinks, as they werent playing fair with me.

Was passing through town, was just going to wet my whistle. Great selection of Beers on Tap, even strong bow cider. was recommend seating on the patio or by the Huge Window on the Side. Didn't seem that busy, But the still looked like a good bunch on the deck. The waitress asked if I was hungry and said if I change my mind here is the Menu. I was going to leave after my drink was done, but though I had to order something with such a selection of poutine on one menu. I ordered the House Burger, I think it was the Finley burger or something like that. The server suckered me into paying extra to try some off all the poutine. I think that Poutine should only be served on waffle Fries So GOOD!!! The burger itself wasn't bad. the patty was good and the topping not bad, but I have had better buns before. I think I was under 30 for the Burger with poutine. and two drink and tip. It was more than fast food, and took longer than fast food. But The Strong bow was greatly welcomed on such a hot day. Food. I think the bun would of made it excellent, The cool breeze and openness with clean and crisp looks was excellent. The service If I was offered a water with my drink or meal would of been excellent, I hate to ask.

I was looking for a chill pub (something other than a sports bar) to have a couple drinks and this place was perfect for that. I had fried pickles and a couple pints. The pickles were surprisingly good and I would've ordered more food if I hadn't eaten recently. The staff were really friendly but not attentive. The atmosphere was nice and also family-friendly. I think I'll give it another try based on the food quality.

This is the second time I have been here and the first was not something I was impressed with, but today.....whole other story! The staff were amazing (Caitlyn and Michelle) Sorry, guessing on the spelling of the names! They greeted me right away, were amazing with the prompt service (One asked my for a beer refill, when the other was already on top of it and was on it's way over!). They also have a good selection of Craft beers. They were friendly and attentive and I appreciated it. The food was next, and I had the Duck Bahn Mi....a Vietnamese style sandwich that was delicious! Presentation was nice to. I look forward to my next work trip to visit this place again!

Visit time - 22 april saturday, 9:05 pm Its been almost many times im visiting finleys but today again it was same situation with little change this time that is I walked out of the restaurant. It was not busy and there were sufficient staff to handle few tables. I was waiting for server to present me the menu..... Servers were passing through my table but nobody bothered to ask me and after 25 minutes i walked away and nobody even noticed. The server name "shella" was telling me its rule in BC to tip the server but the guest also deserve the better service first. Its been 8 years for me in this same industry working at professional level and with 5 diamonds & 5 star hotels of the world and again want to inform you guys its not compulsory or mandatory to tip. Its always on guest if he/she likes the food or service for sure he will tip. Thank you... I hope you guys will pay attention to each and every guest with interest.

Finley's never disappoints. Great food, and great service. The atmosphere is very homey with lots of natural light during the day. The patio has a gorgeous view as well. My favorite mains are the duck club and short rib dip sandwiches. The raspberry chocolate torte is also phenomenal.

Was there for the first time and saw Sue Foley and it was a great show!! It was packed and very busy and our server handled everything in stride and with a smile on her face....we split 5 appies amongst us and everything was pretty good..for dinner we had ribs and strak sandwiches and everyone at our table raved about the steaks...The ribs were good too
