Great selection, great flavour and great pricing. I can see why this restaurant has won many awards in the culinary community!

Katsuya will not disappoint you!!! We had a wonderful experience at Katsuya, and I would highly recommend this restaurant! I had the original katsuya cheese katsu plus appetizers like takoyaki and cheese crab croquette. The original katsuya cheese katsu was amazing, I truly loved the gravy- and I love that it is made with seasonal ingredients so the flavor slightly changes per each visit. The takoyaki was also very authentic and the cheese crab croquette was delicious. We will definitely be returning to try the other katsus on the menu!

Ellie Chen

Although a bit on the expensive side, the food was totally worth the cost! The portions are super filling and you might need to bring some as takeout! The waiters were super timely and friendly~ AND if you ask, you can get a free refill on the miso soup and appetizer(?) (the cabbage in a vinaigrette sauce). And the fried chicken was so good; we had the thighs and the meat was juicy and tender! It also comes with 3 dipping sauces on the side!

Sarah Vu

Great place to get takeout - the food is delicious and affordable for the value. The staff there are also very friendly (always greet you as you come in and out). There was also a discount if you paid in cash. Got the Japanese chicken and fish katsu and takoyaki. Would recommend!

Domingo D

MY Gf goes here to grab takeout after she's helped her Mom in these crazy times! Always delicious food, nice Li'l detail with the heart-drawn labels on the food!! THANK YOU =) I hope to go for sit-dine-in experience sometime soon!

christopher sedgley

Amazing food, and pretty cheap for the price too. The Japanese Katsu is always good and the low wait time makes it easy to get. The Takoyaki is also really tasty, and the variety of dishes they have allow you to change up your orders. Since it's so close to UTM, it's probably the best close restaurant to it :)

Brandon K

This place was delicious back in the long lost era of dining in. Somehow, everything is still just as good and fresh even when it's been neatly packaged in a takeout box and stored in a delivery driver's car for 20 min. How do they do it?!

Robert Shih

Too expensive. Average pork Katsu. Subpar curry.

Mariusz Cabak

I travel a lot for work and have tried many places across Ontario. Katsuya is by far the best eating I’ve experienced. The amount of food is good for the price, and the Curry chicken katsu was full of flavour. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m in the area again to try different menu items.

Best donkatsu restaurant in town.

David K

Amazing staff with delicious food. Interior is clean and presentation of food was nice as well. Very rare to find fine restaurant like this one. Well done! Definitely would recommend!????

Jonathan M

Incredible food, generous portions, couldn't finish the chicken karaage on my own

Aditya Alleear

Good food. Filling. Service is decent.

Danielle Shortt

Great food and great atmosphere

André

Quickly seated, and quickly served. Food is great! Highly recommend either Sweet Chili Katsu or Terri Mayo (Double cheese ofc). Miso soup provided before the dishes come with chopped lettuce, and pickled ginger/radish.

严嫣

Delicious curry and pork chops.

Noriel Dela Cruz

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The staff were nice and greeted us when we came in. Clean and cozy.

JUST IN TIME PRODUCTIONS (jjlbd123)

Great food recipes. Place is amazing. Limited menu selections specializing in like katsudon style of Japanese dish.. recommendable!

Jenny Luu

A little on the expensive side but the food is super good and filling.

Jean Tenca

Seriously the best and most authentic katsu my wife and I have had since being in Japan. The crab croquette appetizers were mind blowing and I have to recommend them to anyone who visits. I loved the chicken katsu curry and my wife really liked the carbonara katsu (a tad spicy, but perfect). The decor and atmosphere was also very nice. I loved the wall decorations with the slabs of wood. To the owner: I really wish you would open up a restaurant in Portland, Oregon! You'd make a killing there. Plus, I'd be able to eat your amazing food weekly :)

Stefano D

The food is excellent no issues.????

Jessica Rodrigues

This foodie spot is full of heavenly aromas, breathe it in folks. The food was absolutely delicious. The waitresses fast and attentive. My dish came out hot n fresh; pork cutlet soooo savoury. It gets very busy, but its worth the wait. Looking forward to returning soon.

I wish I found out about this place sooner! They make an amazing tonkatsu. I went for the sweet chilli pork tender with a side of their butter powder fries to share with my wife. They bake their own bread in-house, so you can imagine how tasty and flaky the panko was on the pork and it all comes together with their sauce. The fries were delicious as well, as the butter powder gave me a popcorn flavour seasoning vibe. Can't wait to come back for some more!

Marina Wang

The Katsu was good and there were a lot of different options for sauces and type of meat. But at the end of the day it was just rice and meat with a change in the sauce. Also there was some confusion with our order getting lost and in the beginning they seemed to have forgotten about us.

Gibson SG

First time visiting this place. What a pleasant surprise. Service was excellent and friendly. The servers were eager to please and the food was refreshingly different and of course delicious. Will definitely visit again.????????

Anthony Chow

Katsuya is always a delight and this location was no exception. This visit I tried the menchi katsu, which is a relatively new meatloaf-type cutlet made from meat and vegetables. It was great! This store is a little roomier than other Katsuyas, as a bonus, but with the prompt and friendly service I've come to expect. There can be a wait at peak hours, though!

Eric L

The chicken katsu was bigger than my face!! I always loved their food, very crispy and tasty. I goto their other locations in North York and downtown too.

Massimo Giallo

Katsuya is my go to katsu place, hands down. I'm so glad there is one relatively close to home in Mississauga. Everything about this location is awesome, from the decor, to the food, to the employees. Love this place. I've tried about three or four different kinds of katsu. Always chicken katsu, and it's always amazing. Hits the spot, satisfies the craving. On this particular occasion, I had the hot chili katsu. The sauce is pretty spicy. Love the salad that they add on the side. Also, I didnt know you can ask for more rice without charge. That was good to know as the ratio of katsu to rice is heavily weighted towards the meat side. The service is always great, they even show dragon ball super sometimes on the tv. I would definitely go here if you've never had katsu before. It's a great place to start.

Kimbra Young

Everything I've gotten here has been great. I usually get the chicken curry katsu. I've never been inside but delivery from Uber Eats is fast and the food tastes great. A couple times I've gotten a free takoyaki as well, which was a nice surprise. They were even giving out free masks at the beginning of the pandemic. Hopefully I can come in person sometime soon!

Maria Torres

Love love love Katsuya???????? is super tasty and always same flavour and people always kind ❤️

Pedro Sam

This is a good restaurant. The chicken and potatoes of this restaurant are delicious to eat.

R J

Crispy, fast preparation, variety of sauces, friendly staff, and I LOVE the 30% discount when takeout with cash.

Katie Lo (Kayemlo)

The place is hidden in an old plaza no one really goes to anymore. The portions were filling and the katsu was decent. Service was slow and the waiters were not very attentive... left a lot of tables dirty until they see another set of customers come.

Senpai's Kicks

Nice and simple menu, can't go wrong!

Tina Bambina

I've never been disappointed! Portions are huge, staff is super friendly and food is always fast and fresh

Benson Tran

Food was good, service was even better! Original Katsu and Curry Katsu. We also ordered takoyaki and they took it off our bill because they felt that they were rushing us; plus gave us two nesteas free, we got there around 10, they close at 11.

Frost

Honeycomb chicken so fire

Mike “Venom Ninja” Hilario

Hidden deep in a plaza, this place has beautiful decor. The food is very tasty and in large portions. I enjoy it a lot. The staff is super friendly and they smile a lot! It's easy to miss this place as Dundas Street is pretty fast. There's also a Bakery in the plaza for after pastry goodies. I will definitely come back here again!

Brian S

Not a bad place to try out. Takoyaki had a twist since they seemed to have used panko to make it. Flavor a bit more subdued compared to that in Japan. Nice ambience. Overall worth the visit. Would go again.

Zain Roohi

Listed closing time is 9PM. Walked in to order at 8PM and was told they are taking no more orders. Lady at the counter was also rude.

Vicky Z

Food is good, a bit pricy though for what it is. The services are bit disappointing, we had to raise our hands several times for few mins to get noticed, as they seem very busy on doing something else with their heads down, and no time to check on the customers at all.

Jay Kim

Fantastic fusion food and various menu always make me happy ! All the foods are better than other restaurants!

Laura Kassym

It's a Japanese chain that serve katsu - schnitzel, fried pieces of meat with signature sauce made of 33 ingredients. I highly recommend to try a classic version, you will appreciate the umami taste. Crab balls were on the top, with melty cheesy centre.

Sarah HY Lee

I generally don't go out of my way to write review but I have to for Katsuya. My bf and I order from Katsuya Mississauga all the time using Uber Eats cuz their food heavenly. Today, they sent a thank you note and 2 masks today when we ordered using Uber Eats. Last week, they sent thank you note for social distancing. Thanks so much, Katsuya. You made my, not just a day, but year 2020! ???? 자꾸 이러면 매일 오더할거예요! ????

Cheryl Lim

Well maintained/clean restaurant with friendly staff. Although not a big place (a good handful of tables and elbow space), the eatery would be great for get togethers with a few friends or for date night. I ordered the original katsu (pork) with cheese and my husband ordered the pork katsu with spicy garlic and cheese ... my goodness ... each combo came with an insanely huge cutlet (very moist) and was cooked to perfection and super delicious! For the size and portions, it’s definitely worth the price. The takoyaki balls (appetizer) was perfection as well. We will be back to this hidden gem.

Daniel Salazar

Food was great and not too expensive

Alice Tieu

Food is always satisfying. Love the carbonara! A little sad they don't leave the cabbage dressing on the table anymore. Huge portions!

jason lam

I feel like the curry is from packages from super market

Herman Poon

The portion of katsu is great. Not too much rice which fits the slim style. My wife ordered cheese katsu and it actually taste great. My son order carborana udon, without spice. Still white source is good. Update 2019-02-23 Been here again. This time with my parent. They changed so you can refill rice one time, but still unlimit soup and radish shreds. I like it because we do not get to waste food.

Nikki H

Perfect every time!!! and they offer 30% discount on takeout if you pay with cash!!

Ajay

One of our favourites in Mississauga.

Juneo De Ramos

5 star, enough said.

Kween V

Super good tonkatsu. Good service too. Go here all the time!

Jennifer Jean-Baptiste

One of our fave places to get tonkatsu. They also have one of the best takoyaki in town. Would highly recommend the tonkatsu in sweet chilli sauce.

Ada Du

My go-to take out! Quality's been consistent every time I go there and the service is always great. They're also doing a lot to keep their customers and employees safe during this time. Love the fish carbonara and honey butter fries!

Riley Tsang

A gem hidden in a unfamiliar Plaza. Very busy place normally, but the wait is not too long. The staff is super friendly. And the food is made with care. Everything seems made in house. Texture of the pork cutlet was very unique, quite memorable. Great portion sizes. Plating is pleasing to the eye, but could be better. The design of the restuarant is very modern and sleek. A little on the pricey side, but worth the experience!

Evan Christopher

Amazing quality food every time.

Joyce Tam (JoyceTheFoodie)

Love its deep fried pork cutlet! So crunchy yet juicy inside. The breadcrumbs are made in-house. My top 3 sauces are sweet chili, original and carbonara. Do take advantage of its unlimited refill of cabbage, miso soup and rice. So glad that I don’t have to drive to North York now, they are way too busy lol.

Jessica Liu

The miso soup was delicious, they made their own broth, and it really stood out from the other places. The Katsu was crunchy outside and tender inside. The sauces are delicious. The veggies and rice were great as well, a perfect accompaniment to the katsu. The only downside was that our oysters for our appetizer wasn't that fresh.

jugster

get the honey butter fries and thank me later

Timothy Loterinia

Great food and friendly, accomodating staff. My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner here before our wedding with some guests back in July. Depsite the big size of our group, the team at Katsuya was more than willling to have us there. We were very excited when this location opened up and wanted our guests to enjoy the food as much as we do. Least to say, they definitely did! Highly recommend Katsuya! Thank you once again!

Maria Zita Macatangay

Food is okay. Ambiance is good. Service is great.

Ria Sia

5 - atmosphere and ambiance 5 - food (quality and portions were generous) 4.5 - service was good and speedy but needed to ask for water refills because I was parched 4 - it was 35 degrees outside and was looking forward to enjoying my katsu in an air conditioned space, however it felt like 30 inside. There was no relief. With a baby, I wasn't very happy. The poor man behind us had a drenched t-shirt. Please be kind to your customers and turn it up a few notches. In any case, I will be returning.

Zain Amer

We got the cheese crab meat croquettes, chicken katsu (with the original sauce and the sweet chilli sauce) and the honey butter fries. Everything was delicious. I would’ve preferred if the croquettes were a little firmer, as they were very soft in the middle. The honey butter fries were the bomb. Sweet chilli sauce > original sauce. Very nice staff. We called back since it was our first time having katsu, and asked for instruction. The staff was kind enough to help us.

Anna Nguyen

Pretty crowded, service is super friendly and quick with food! The food is always tasty.

Mike T

Absolutely delicious, love coming to this place

Steven Luu

So I've been a Fan of this place since it Opened. But as of 2022-01-11 I am Sadden to say this place has gone down hill. Their prices shot up $2.5 on everything. Their Miso soup Is literally Soya Water (its completely Clear). The sauce I had (Carbonara Sauce) was a Soquid (Solid Liquid). The Rice Over Cooked. So Sad it used to be so good but now I would probably only ever return if it was 50% off which as of right now be $9.75 for a Carbonara Pork Loin Katsu.

Denis Kharlamov

If you are ever craving some quality Japanese food - Katsuya is a good place to go to! An abundance of choice when it comes to katsudon and all of them rather delicious! Food always comes out fast, and the staff is helpful and friendly!

S. K.D.

Always packed well during delivery, and great in house service prior to the Pandemic. I have family from Markham, that come visit me just so they can eat/order from Katsuya lol I love their Sweet Potato, Double Cheese, Spicy White Snow Pork Tenderloin Katsu with extra cheese spicy dipping sauce, and their Crab Croquettes with tartare sauce. So good!!!

Mark Michael

Amazing chicken .. the sauces they have are amazing

edmundo ramirez

Very good ramen, like the choice of thin or thick noodles

Hamin Kim

Delicious and fresh food! Friendly and approachable staff :) 5/5

루이스

Nice place if you love Katsu, the have all styles of Katsu from the classic to spicy and triple cheese ones, also the chicken wings are amazing

Jackie Chiem

This place is a nice gem in Missisauga! The katsu itself was nice and moist, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was light and flaky. The sauce I chose was Hot Carbonara, the spice added a good flavour without overpowering the carbonara. The alfalfa salad on the side was also refreshing and light as well. Totally recommend!

Alejandro Sarellano

Katsuya was such an unexpected surprise! I ordered both the Takoyaki and a carbonara katsura and oooh boy! it was a lot food and I was barely able to eat all of it. I'll definitely come back to try the rest of the menu ????

Jisu Lim

Good place. Bit pricy but when you pay with cash, you can get discount.

Stanley C

The deep fried pork cutlet is good. I like the white sauce. Squid ball is good. The deep fried chicken is disappointing, a bit too thin and dry. It is nicer to dine in as you can get the soup, salad and rice refill.

Melody Liu

I had the Terri Mayo Pork Loin Katsu. Thought the bonito flakes made the dish smell too fishy, the taste of the katsu was not affected. It was quite delicious and had just the right amount of crunchiness. Good amount of protein too in comparison to other restaurants for the same price!

Goju-Ryu

Good food which is consistently good. Good friendly staff. Very cool atmosphere.

Monica

Not sure if the promo is going going on all week (I purchased yesterday March 9th) but it's 30% off if you pay in cash!! Food has always been A+ and customer service is always excellent!

Hannah Lin

Food: ????????????.5 Service:???????????????????? Atmosphere:???????????????????? Cleanliness:???????????????????? Had a great time here with friends. I ordered sweet chilli fish katsu main and fried oysters appetizer. The meal came with refills and miso soup and rice, upon request. The fried oysters had a wasabi undertone and a nice layer of breaded crunch. The fish katsu was alright, the fish had more breading than I prefer but it had nice flavor overall. The food was definitely freshly prepared. I recommend this place for casual hangouts and quick meals.

Jayss “TaeGin14”

Thank god they have Katsuya in Mississauga save myself a trip to downtown and north york. Food always maintain at same quality as other branches . A little bit overpriced but still worth your try. Good place to try pork cutlet with curry or other sauces.

Mitochondria

If you like Japanese cuisine then This is a must try. Great service friendly staff diverse menu.

Karen Stephen

I loved the food! I got the traditional katsu and thought it clever to come on a little rack so it wouldn't get all soggy. Excellent service and tasty food made this a place we'll come back to often.

Chris Recalis

Very very tasty and good portion sizes

Raeliana Morin

Great service and delicious food! The katsu is crispy and the meat is tender. They have so many different types of katsu that it could suit anyone's palette. I recommend getting the crab croquettes too as they are super tasty. Their space is limited in there so it's best to get a reservation if you can. Another cool thing is if you pay in cash you get a 10% discount ????

Barry Kung

Fantastic cutlets with different flavors, so good! You got to try it!

Jameson Jensen

We had an extraordinary in this place. We liked the extraordinary atmosphere and the food. The staff were very friendly. I am happy we finally managed to visit this restaurant.

Simba Mai

Pricey, but the food is great quality. Definitely would go again!

Jay S

Amazing chicken katsuya and crab balls 10/10 would recommend and they also have a pleasant and unique dine in experience with friendly staff... Reasonably priced as well

Lynetteリネット

Awesome flavours and the service was great. Very crispy and cooked well.

Jamie Tieu

This place has amazing quality food! Although it is quite far and location wise is very isolated, I had a good experience here. The food came out really fast, servers are extremely friendly, and the quality is a lot better than ones I have tried downtown Toronto. The best part is free refills on the miso soup and amazing choices of appetizers. The Takoyaki were fresh and flavourful and the Honey Butter fries were delicious as well. Overall, definitely one of the top places to visit in Mississauga.

George

Great food, excellent service! Unexpectedly delicious spicy meal!

JJ A

Went twice and ordered curry katsu and sweet chili cheese katsu with chicken/pork(pork tasted better than chicken). Generally satisfying. Clean washroom and nice servers. Ordered three katsus and paid around 65 bucks after tax and tip each time. Didn't like the fact I had to pay tip after applying tax already. Other than that, everything was pretty decent. Gonna go back at least once every month.

Devin Gutierrez

Very good katsu, with in house made breading.

Nathania Putri

Food, service and ambience are good. Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity that you get.

Don'tsay Myname

The food is good: fresh cabbage, tender and tasty meat. Staff is friendly and service is quick. We got the original with pork tender and the curry with chicken. Both were very tasty. The curry was our favorite as the sauce for the original was a tad too sweet for our tastes. It's worth a try, as it really does taste good, but not worth nearly $20 a person... it was literally 2 plates of shredded cabbage, sauce and fried cutlets for over $40...

Mandy Leung

Delicious tonkatsu with in house made breadcrumbs. Good portions. Ok service. Not the best crowd. Location is a little sketchy at night. But food is really good. Service isn't friendly but fast and efficient.

icetink

Service was great and food was absolutely amazing! The temperature of the restaurant was too hot and uncomfortable - 5/5 if they weren't stingy on the air conditioning...

Ron Estrella

New Favorite Place 30% is dope

Ern Flo

One place to be in Mississauga. Excellent!

Daniel Joanes

Pretty good. Wast a fan of the Katsuya sauce

U P

Service can sometimes be quite lacking here but the donkatsu and takoyaki are usually on point, with a variety of meat cuts and flavours to choose from.

Kevin Mcguirk

Was a great place to eat. The food was really good the staff was great. Nice and clean restaurant. Price is reasonable. For those who do not use chopsticks like myself bring utensils LOL.

Shamar Drummond

Really good wings!

Deeksha Singh

Great food and the wait was only 5 minutes.

Elhgyne A.

Went in for early dinner so place wasn't busy yet. Decor waa warm and modern, place was clean, service was quick (there were few people). The soup was great, you get unli soup and cabbage. Cabbage was so so, a little on the bland side, they could add a sauce. We ordered pork tonkatsu, variation of loin and tender. Wasn't a big fan of original sauce but other flavors were a hit. Terra mayo and sweet chili something, then we also had the one with cheese. The katsu itself were good, a little on the thinner side. Crunchy outside, tender inside. The carbonara was outstanding, creamy and flavorful. Would love to try the spicy one.

Joseph Ip

If you're craving for breaded pork cutlet then this store is the place for you.

David Chan

I'd say it's pretty rare to find a tonkatsu restaurant in Mississauga let alone the GTA so when I heard about this restaurant it was a definite must. After going to Japan and trying an abundance of curry restaurants there like CoCo Curry, I needed a fix back home! I will say Katsuya was not a disappointment. The food was amazing. I ordered the original with pork tenderloin. The cutlet was tender, juicy and the breading was fantastic (they make their own breadcrumbs) and the sauce was unique and delicious. It's not your typical Japanese curry sauce, as Katsuya's original sauce had floral/cinnamon notes. It's quite delicious. My wife had the Carbonara sauce and that was also amazing. It has bits of shrimp and squid in it. Very unique and tasty! The cutlet again was superb. We also got the Kaarage chicken thighs and that is a classic for me. Well breaded, crispy, juicy and comes with a drizzle of wasabi mayo! One of my favorites there. The honey butter fries were delicious as well, it literally taste just like it sounds! Fries were crispy. The crab meat cheese croquette has to be one of my favorites along with the kaarage. It's crispy and so dang delicious! The balance of mashed potato, crab meat and a hint of melted cheese just goes so well! Not to mention the sauce. It tasted like a mixture of japanese mayo/honey dijon with relish. Fantastic! (Excuse the picture of the kaarage and croquette, I ate some before I took the pic. You get 5 pieces of croquette and 4-5 pieces of kaarage) The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. They were attentive and asked us how everything was on numerous occasions. Very thoughtful! They also greeted us izakaya style coming in and leaving! It was great! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that needs a tonkatsu/curry fix. I will definitely be back to try the many other delicious looking foods on the menu! I'm so glad I found this place!

Andy P

I cannot rate this place high enough. I'm a huge fan of donkatsu and this place hits the spot well. They have both Korean and Japanese versions but I've only tried the Korean kind. The donkatsu is fried to perfection - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauce is what is typical of Korean donkatsus. Overall, 12/10 food

Miyaka K

Dine-in or takeout, Katsuya never fails to impress. Having visited countless times, and various locations at that, it can be concluded that quality is consistent (and dependable!), service is always friendly, and the katsu cravings are curbed. Personal favourites: Cheese Crabmeat Croquette, Tako-wasabi, Traditional Japanese Katsu But truthfully, you can't go wrong with anything!

Usman Khan

Wow, I’m definitely a fan of this place - especially with the 30% off (cash only). This place is cute, well priced, and good portions. My only suggestion is adding more rice. I tried almost everything on the menu - by far fish + white carbonara is the best & the mash potato + crab croquettes are amazing.

Victor H

It's ok. Portion kinda big. Can't give 5 star because im comparing it to katsu in Japan. The cabbage isn't sweet. The french fries is so good. They dont cook the sesame seed.

Sophia Yan

Tasty with big portions!

Cresselia Moonborn

This is the best option for donkatsu in Mississauga. It has a great location with beautiful wooden decor. The food is delicious and arrived quickly. They have a lot of different Katsu options and great service.

Joseph Manalo

Good food and service, but the music is too loud and the water tastes weird.

Mek Lee

I called them to get a take out when I'm driving, and when I'm ordering I forgot what meat options they have, so I asked the person on phone. The lady says :"you can look at our website" I told her I'm driving and can't look at their website right now, and if it's possible to just verbally tell me the meat options, and she refused.

Keaton Ambridge

Great katsu chain serving up traditional and modern takes on the Japanese classic fare. If going in a group make sure to order several varieties and also consider giving their various cheese katsu options a go. Note that the mississauga location doesn't have a liquor license so no booze sales there.

Yunny Hou

We ordered Katsuya to deliver to our house through Ubereats. Their delicious deep fried Japanese pork katsu are sooo delicious! We got the creamy carbonara sauce and signature white snow chees + chili sauce! The gooey cheese makes the crisp katsu even more delicious, and the salads and rice are great sides to balance the strong flavouors. Definitely the perfect lunch sets to order and enjoy at home too. Carbonara Pork Loin Katsu 白醬炸豬排 $18.45 White Snow Chili Katsu 起司辣醬炸豬排 $17.35

Colin Ho

food tastes good and can be in and out within the hour. A little bit more sesame seeds would be better

Stella Law

Katsuya’s got their menu figured out down to a science. Start every main with the same components: a Panko crusted meat (chicken, fish or pork), a sauce (so many to choose from), a side of shredded cabbage for salad, and a miso soup = one delicious meal. Even the pickiest eater in the family can find something to sink their teeth into. My favourite is the Chicken Carbonara Katsu.

Yumi Kim

A bit pricey but always delicious.

Tina Armstrong

A very pleasant experience. This is a convenient Mississauga location with ample free parking and easy access by bus. The ambiance was cozy, comfortable and clean. K-pop playing in the background, anime playing on the tv, what more could you ask for? I came for lunch. The food was normal pricing, and the servings were quite large. I had the fries w/honey butter powder, and the Japanese katsu chicken. The fries were quite sweet but tasty, I would suggest sharing. The chicken cutlet in the katsu wasn't too greasy, it was crispy and a generous size. It also included a standard miso soup. If you enjoy cabbage, there was cabbage salad and a small dish of cabbage in a tangy sauce. I really liked that there was a bowl with sesame seeds on the side to add to your rice. Pitchers of lemon water were at each table, I found this very convenient. Service was fast. This was a wonderful experience.

Management needs to wake up to the new COVID reality and adjust their business practices. I just picked up a phone order (after mass confusion on the phone talking to a server in the middle of what sounded like a war zone). In the store, the music was excruciatingly loud, I could hear crackling in my ears. I could barely hear the guy in front of my face, and it's not helped by everyone wearing masks and standing farther apart So, my order was wrong. I guess he couldn't hear me on the phone either. We got extra items we didn't ask for, and the wrong Katsu. We asked for fish Katsu but got pork. I suggested to the server to turn down the music, but he said it was "store policy". Don't waste your time or hearing here Food was "meh" at best. Soggy by the time we ate. I'll save my money next time

Katrin Xy

Food is delicious! Love the croquettes and katsus. Very tasty. Staff is rly friendly :)

M K

Delicious and fresh foods, big portions, affordable pricing. Excellent customer service. Clean. They use smartphone technology for Covid-19 info.

Lorraine Liu

The food and service was outstanding. There is a traditional style tonkatsu that is true to the original and there are also other creative flavours. I ordered a cheese tonkatsu and when they accidentally gave me the plain tonkatsu instead, they not only let me keep the plain tonkatsu and provides an extra serving of the cheese tonkatsu, they also charged me for the plain one (which costs less than the cheese). Also the bathroom was extremely clean. Both these are a good sign of their quality service.

Jessica Arjun

I ordered take out to try their Curry Karaage. I was pleasantly surprised at how perfect everything was. The chicken (meat) itself wasn't super flavourful but the batter on the outside was crunchy to compensate. Honestly it worked out better that the flavour wasn't overbearing because if you're into sauces, I highly recommend eating the pieces with the red dipping sauce that comes with it. It seems like a spicy/not-to-sweet ketchup and it balances out perfectly with the saltiness of the curry batter. I also ordered Takoyaki, which didn't disappoint. The batter seems to have little crunchy bits on the outside which makes a world of a difference. It wasn't overly sauced either, and stayed crispy on my drive home. They also placed the bonito flake topping in a small container to sprinkle on at a later time, so those didn't get soggy either. All in all, 10/10, would recommend. I look forward to getting a chance to dine in here, as even the service for picking up my order felt welcoming.

Great food. Came out quick. Very flavourful. Had a chance to try the curry, sweety chilli, and one with cheese. All really delicious. Covid precautions taken seriously with guests temperatures taken as well as a.namr and phone number. Atmosphere is quite modern and spacious. Worth a visit.

Cheryl

I ordered the carbonara pork loin. Cream was rich with toppings like bacon, squid, shrimp. The katsu was freshly fried so it's very crispy. The restaurant provides free refill on miso soup and rice :) the service was nice and efficient even though the store was quite busy at 1 time. I think turning down the music a bit may be better when customer calls for help.

Jack Lam

Today, one of my family friend just immigrated to Canada and they had to quarantine at home. To express my generosity, I thought that I should buy them a meal. So I went on Uber Eats and ordered them a nice original chicken meal. Then, I thought it’d be nice if I can ask Katsuya to write a little note that says “Welcome to Canada!” to go along with the meal. Didn’t think they’d do it, but they ACTUALLY DID! It was so kind and reflective of their values. This simple act is an excellent example of prime customer service. Plus, they loved the food. Thank you guys! p.s. they even drew a little flag. How cute.

Maria Macarova

Very friendly staff. I enjoy their 30% off when paying cash during pandemic. Keep up the good work guys.

migamume

Best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had and my noodles were also very good plus the honey butter fries are to die for haha ????

Pierre Collard

We had a great experience there! Cosy, the food is amazing and great service. Will definitely come again

Alistair B

Great atmosphere and super welcoming service. The meals were fresh and enchanting. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. Affordable prices and big meals. Great work.

May Nguyen

Fantastic place, i’ve been here several times now, every time the food is always delicious and the staff are always nice. No matter what you order the serving you get is very filling and satisfying, staff are always nice and try their best to be fast despite being extremely busy and the atmosphere is enjoyable with k-pop being played on the speakers and anime being played on the tv. The only downside is that there can be long wait times, but honestly it’s worth it in my opinion.

Daniel L (Dan Lee)

Katsuya management, you need to take social distancing seriously. You have 2 doors, which is perfect for clients going in from 1 and exiting from another. Instead, you keep 1 locked, which meant that customers who exit have to go back through the same door that they entered from. This setup makes it impossible for customers to keep 2m distance apart from each other when you have a line up of customers picking up their food. Customers continue to support local businesses during this tough time, but local businesses need to do their part in keeping customers safe. Your food is excellent, but it just isn't worth the risk especially for those who have families to go back to.

Massimo Ambrosini

Excellent Japanese restaurant specialized in Katsu. Nice place. Fast service. Big portions. So good. ????????

ST Lim

Tried curry, original, original with cheese and sweet chili (all pork) for a family dine in. Meat was okay.. but the bread crumb was less than average. Curry was the only 4 star. The original sauces were not that great. After 1/3 of the original, we couldn't eat more sauce. 3 star on the red chili. Cabbage was chewy, missing that crisp texture. For the price, I must've had higher expectations.

Snaley Snail

Great job on the social distancing ???????? Terri Mayo Chicken Katsu, delicious as always ????

Gaspar Raposo

Amazing, the service was slow thought. I think they forgot that we were even there but the food was delicious.

Moazzam Reza

Really tasty food. The chicken can stand on its own but also serves wonderfully as a canvas for their delicious in-house made sauces. They also have good pickled daikon radish and ginger. I ordered on UberEats and they drew a little smiley face on my container. They wrote "Thank you!" on the container as well. It felt really nice to read that, so thank you to whoever at Katsuya wrote that. Everything was nicely organized, fresh, and tasty. You feel good after eating their chicken, unlike North American fried chicken. This is a really nice place, and I look forward to trying all the different katsus :^) Thank you for making my day a little bit better!

Diana Pabuna

Amazing tasting katsu with many different options to choose from

Blain Angus

Great authentic style katsu! I will definitely be back

Shibayama Tomoki

Great experience and service that should be tried at least once if you want a vibrant take on tonkatsu dishes with lots to choose from cheese katsu, to fish, and chicken to spicy chili tastes. EDIT: Returned in April 2021. Added new photo. Still a great choice for a filling, Japanese-style fusion tonkatsu. Remember to support and shop your local ventures! #supportlocal #buylocal #shoplocal

Leon Liang

Love it.

Lianne T.

I love the portions and decor of this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgable of the menu. The chicken karaage is juicy and to die for!

Ayman Khan

Was looking for a late night fix and came across the place. The staff was helpful and took care of us. The food was awesome and the place has a nice welcoming atmosphere.

Meagan B

I had the spicy katsu with cheese. It was really yummy, and very filling. The service was good, everything was really clean and I enjoyed the experience a lot. If you like spicy food, you won’t find the Spicy Katsu hot, but it is really good. I’ll absolutely go back!

LYW

Food was awesome but you know what's even more awesome??? Riley's customer service! She deserves recognition and coffee for a whole week! Not Tim Hortons but Starbucks!! She came and ask us at least 3 times if food and service was ok!! I mean.. who does that nowadays in an Asian restaurant???

Seonsook Khan

White Snow Spicy chicken Katsu and Red Carbonara Udon were amazing

Jessica Dela Cruz

One of my favourite places to eat. We ended up doing take out so we could have a picnic in the park. Everything was so neatly packed and the presentation was on point. My husband who was not a fan of katsu before has now changed his mind and I couldn't be happier! Will definitely be back!

Ozoz Sokoh

They make their own breadcrumbs!!!! That says a lot - I stan this level of dedication and commitment and frankly everything that had the Panko breadcrumbs had the most amazing texture. Service was fair, a touch slow. I ordered fries with honey butter powder. Great concept but it fell short for me with the sweetness. The fries were a great texture but combine honey butter with sweet ketchup and it's way too much sugar. My udon noodles were nice. Lovely texture, hot broth, fresh, fishy, meaty. An overall nice meal.

Sunny Dale

This place is so yummy!!!!! Everyone eat here!!!

Jen

Perfect place for when you crave tonkatsu. The pork cutlet is crispy and delicious. The honey butter fries were really good. However the cabbage salad was a bit bland and dry and the rice was also a bit undercooked.

Victor Victor

I had the original katsuya pork loin. Was great. The rest of my table enjoyed their orders as well. Will come back to check out the rest of menu.

Heidi Adia

SO happy they opened a location here in Sauga!! My friend and I came for dinner, spacious with good amount of seating. So far have tried their Original, Carbonara and Sweet Chili tonkatsu and have been well satisfied with each one. It has delivered to each of my palette cravings. In this location compared to the Downtown one however includes deep fried oysters— highly recommend you try it!

Eddie Lai

Came here to try their pork katsu and croquettes. Super impressed even though they can only do takeout right now. The food was packaged well and all the soups and sauces were separated so didn’t steam up the katsu. The pork katsu was about what I expect from a juicy well cooked katsu, I can only imagine how much better it would taste eating in person Instead of it waiting getting a little cold in my car. It was still very juicy and crispy when I got home. The more surprising thing is now good the croquettes were. They had crab, cheese, and potato filling and came with a side of tar tar like sauce, it was heavenly , beyond my expectations , would come back just for the croquettes alone. Can’t recommend this place enough, would trek out for

Joa C

Tonkatsu is too dry Food is average

Byung Don Jang

I've visited Toronto Katsuya it was great. So this time we've visited Mississauga Katsuya! Same taste and clean bramd new interioir. and even we can see how they prepare bread dough :) We will come back to try other Katsu menu!

Rick MacLeod

First time. Great food. I would return.

Master iOqY

Tucked away in a nondescript plaza in old Mississauga is this Tonkatsu lovers' heaven serving all sorts of tonkatsu pork or fish-based dishes. Pricing is a bit on the high side at about $15-20 a plate but the servings are large. You can ask for more salad and miso soup too when your first servings are done. Service was friendly and efficient. Interesting industrial yet organic decor with ample wood-use throughout and Edison bulbs. Lots of little Japanese knick knacks all around too e.g. you'll see cacti in the washrooms flanked by a little Ironman drawing. Their other locations in the GTA also follow the same setup.

Julia Agris

This place is so good! The curry and carbonara katsu are my menu go-tos. Great portions and overall aesthetic. The staff is nice as well. They’re also reliable on UberEats and the food is packaged in a way that it won’t be soggy by the time it gets to you.

Dennis Cartier

Great restaurant. I have visited other locations and thought I would try the one closest to.my home. There was a huge lineup, but I put my name at the end of the list. A table for 2 opened up and I jumped the line because all the other groups were 3 or more people. I felt bad, but the staff asked each part ahead if they minded. The food was great, the staff nice, all around a very good choice for Japanese Fusion.

Raphael Del Castillo

Always such a beautiful place to come by and grab some food. They are always consistent, everyone is friendly and they are kind. Good place to grab a quick bite. I frequent this place when I'm in the office or whenever I'm craving some of their yummy karage!

Kalam Naheid

Very tasty restaurant, polite and professional waiter! For dinner, it is very nice to spend the evening here!

Isabel Lam

Love this place for good Japanese pork katsu! I usually get the pork cutlet with cheese inside. This time, I ordered the red carbonara katsu (mild spice, because I’m a wimp) which was so good, and a side of honey butter fries which were amazingly crispy and delicious. Such a great spot!

Alvin Szeto

Great spot with great service and food!

Amy Thong

Ordered take out on with their take-out promotion (10% discount) in August 2020. Service was nice and friendly. Unfortuneately the wait time was a bit long but it was totally worth the wait because the food was delicious! Made fresh, steaming hot with fresh ingredients! Another downside to this place is it's a bit pricey... if you're exploring new food, I would definitely recommend give this place a try.

Willy

I highly recommend this restaurant. We (family) were here three weeks ago recomended by a friend. We like the freshness and the taste is to our like. Staff are so pleasant and service is great which why we are here again today for the second time. Again today would give them the same above thumbs up.

Megala Dharmapalan

Okay I didn’t think take out Katsu would still be crispy but they proved me wrong. It was still so crispy even when I got home. We finished everything so quick we didn’t even cop a pick but it was delish. The original Katsu with the sauce is really interesting enjoyed it and the red udon carbonara is actually v spicy beware. ALSO 30% off if you pay cash… you can use those $$$ on more food

Anne T

That Katsu batter is everything, so light and crispy! Food was very good but I think I’m going to have to work out twice to make up for the meal! I got the spicy carbonara pork katsu with cheese and sweet potato which was very rich and hella spicy like ???????????????????? kinda spicy!!! I ended up switching plates with my husband and ate his curry katsu since he eats really spicy and he even thought it was too spicy for his liking which says a lot. Portion sizes were massive and one plate can easily feed 2 ppl so you definitely get value as the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is cozy and staff are friendly.

Stephanie Huynh

Spicy Carbonara, croquettes, and chicken wings are amazing. I can't stop ordering from them!

Dima Pichugin

I went few times and the food was really delicious, service was good. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely come again.

J Cen

Amazing small little store where you get your bang for buck. Location is not the best but the food is great.

Tom

not so good ,food so less, and too hard

travelguru su

Delicious food! Thank you! Very fast delivery by UberEats.

*** Update May 20th 2021*** Alright, alright, alright....I am back again..... What can I say or add. The food is absolute delish !!! This is a winner winner chicken dinner here folks. And there is a 30% dis count if you pay with CASH. That is unheard of !!! This is an upgrade to 5 STARS !!! A Home Run into the upper deck in left centre field !!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have frequented this location several times after discovering it last year during the beginning of the pandemic. And I wanted to drop in since I was in the area on my way back from another property viewing in Lorne Park and Port Credit just around lunch time. I have had my fair share of Tonkatsu in Japan and throughout Taiwan. One of the best I had was in Taipei in a restaurant where the entire menu is in Japanese. The Tonkatsu here is fantastic. The batter is perfectly breaded and it is crispy and light. The chicken is cooked to perfection because it is still juicy and not dry. My only dislike is that my dipping sauce was not the classic Worcestershire based sauce. But rather it tasted like regular store bought BBQ sauce. I BBQ ribs in the summer and it tasted like the same BBQ sauce. Not a big deal really. But I did have classic Tonkatsu Worcestershire sauce in the past. I will still return nonetheless since it is a local business and I will support this group. I totally forgot to mention that there is a huge discount if you pay with CASH. I believe that the discount is a whopping 30% off. That explains why my bill came out to $11.00+ change after taxes. I even asked the staff if they made a mistake or something because it should be $15.00+. Then I saw the CASH discount sign at the front....silly me... The service has always been quick and friendly. Will I return, that is a definite and emphatic YES :-) This is a one bounce off the left centre field fence triple... Give them a try and let us all know what you think.

Steph Anie

I was surprised about this place. I passed it while driving and decided to go back for dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was off peak and we were the only ones there. The plaza it’s in looks run down but there are a lot of good places there. The food is pretty straight forward from the menu. I got the tenderloin katsu original. The meat was tender and breaded with the sauce poured over it. The pork and the sauce blended nicely as they complemented each other and not overpower each other. You can ask for more rice or another side of veggies which is nice. The veggie is stringed cabbage with a blend of sesame oil that tasted very nicely with the main dish. We also got the butter fries which was different from other fries I’ve had but in a good way. I would definitely go back to try the other sauces!

Velmat

Very good service, Excellent food and they have anime on!

Bella yu

I went to this place many times and they alway have the perfect dish for me, even I ordered the wrong meal, and that dish still didn’t disappointed.

Sharon Chen

Very nice ambiance with fair prices and decent size portions. Free refills on rice, cabbage, and soup with purchase of a tonkatsu set. I ordered the carbonara fish katsu and it was delicious. The takoyaki and fried chicken wings (karaage) were also very crispy and scrumptious.

Clarizza Viel Ching

Huge and consistent portion. Great service. I have been coming back a lot of times now and yet I'm still craving for it.

Doris T.

The restaurant was spacious and clean. Our server was nice and checked on us frequently. They offer complimentary miso soup and pickled vegetables for the table. The cheese crabmeat croquettes were tasty but they were a bit dry, there should be a side dip for them. We wanted to order the fries but they were sold out. The brick cheese katsu had so much cheese! I also found it pretty dry but still enjoyed them. The red carbonara was pretty spicy and tasted great. The carbonara udon was one of my favourite dishes, the noodles and sauce were perfect. Though it was a lot fried food I found nothing to be greasy or oily! Tips: Check in on yelp for a free pop and there is a 5% discount when paying cash.

Sar T

Hidden gem in Mississauga. Very tasty pork loin katsu Carbonara and cheese crab Croquettes. The service also very good, fast and friendly.

Saahir Kapasi

Amazing food, service was very lack lustre. Getting basic things (water, fork, extra chop sticks) was difficult. Seemed a little understaffed.

Karolina Surowiec

This is my to go to food in Mississauga. I love this place they are very consistent. Everytime I come I know what I’m going to get. Service is good too. They offer a deal when you pay in cash. I’d recommend getting sweet chilli pork or chicken katsuya. The flavours are so delicious and has a little heat.

Andrew V

The service was really great and the waiters were friendly. The food was served quickly and was very delicious.

Christopher Maningas

Great dining experience. Interior decoration is unique, staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, the Katsu stays crispy to the last piece! Looking forward to trying out sauces.

melilycui

I had their chicken dish take out and I have to say it's pretty good! Their sauce was delicious and their menu said it was made out of 14ish different vegetables and fruits and I can see where they're coming from. If feels like a full meal because they have a side salad and miso soup and rice to go with the main dish. UberEats sometimes they have the buy one get one free deal there's also some discounts if you do take out!

Eric J

We had the takoyaki, the original pork katsu and the spicy fish katsu. With the addition of the free miso soup and cabbage it was a very good meal! The service was also very good! Definitely recommended if you're in the mood for some tonkatsu

Alan Chu

The place is clean and comfortable, good atmosphere. Service is nice and feels welcomed. Their pork tenderloin katsu is also really good. Recommended for people who are interested for Japanese pork cutlet.

Allen G

Had a great experience in this place with my kid. The food arrives quick and the service is just great. Prices are affordable.

Joseph Elefano

The red carbonara or hot and spicy are 2 of my favorites. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Sabrina Sourjah

The food was simply delicious! ????

Kayden

Made me stay outside in the rain while waiting fro my order got wet

Andre Pond

Great experience at katsuya, the waiter was extremely pleasant and helpful. He recommended to me the carbonara Katsu which was actually a lot better than I originally expected. The flavour was very strong but wasn't so heavy that you got tired of the flavour and it covered the palate nicely. The fact that you also have unlimited miso soup is a major plus too. Going to come back to try the other items on the menu soon!

Don M

Takoyaki.....one of the best I tried so far because they have. Adifferent technique on how they cook it. Go try it out and see for yourself!

Nessa Chan

Great food!

Littlefrosty

Decent food and service but pricey and low quantity. Takoyaki is my fav

Emily Tan [Staff]

Loved the place and food. My favorite appetizer is the cheese crabmeat croquettes. I also love terri mayo katsu and karaage chicken thigh. I went with a friend and she enjoyed the food too. Then she refered her friends too, for sure I will be back with my family. Can you open one at Milton, ON please? Looking forward to it.

Jen Lynn

Such good food and quick service!

S Windsor

I love visiting Katsuya! I think their Carbonara ones are always good. Their appetizer is delish too! My favorite is Cheese crabmeat Croquette and Karaage. The Brick cheese katsu is really good, but I like it as dine in option, since take out makes cheese harden a bit by the time you get home :( They don't use Panko stuffs, but actually grind down a whole bread for the fry batter, so the crispness is on top notch. Try out if you haven't had a chance to try Japanese style pork cutlets!

Cory Sakai

Get your deep fried Japanese breaded pork and chicken fix here! These guys do it properly. They focus on one signature menu item with different variations of sauces and knock it out of the park. None of this trying to please everybody business. Only crispy Japanese breaded katsu (usually pork) or chicken thighs and wings with a fantastic array of sauces. The tender pork usually sells out quickly, but I actually prefer the regular pork and don't find it tough. The breading on the katsu is crunchy, delicious and filling. All the sauces are great, but I especially like the Japanese curry. The regular pound of chicken thighs comes with 3 sauces (wasabi, Korean and teriyaki) that are all great, and they lay it on a bed of potato chips. Cool! The garlic versions of the sauces just add fried garlic chips. They're different but I wouldn't get them next time. If you haven't tried the takoyaki (octopus), you should give that a try too! Eating in you would be able to get refills on soup, coleslaw and 1 x rice, but obviously you don't a 2nd go with takeout. Also shame that it's closed for indoor eating, because the interior is really uniquely designed. The order was ready on time and packed well with some assembly required so the food is how it should be, but try to eat it while it's still warm and crunchy. Plaza is easy to access even though it's on a busy street (Dundas) and you won't have trouble with parking. French bakery is also next door for dessert if you still have room.

Jo Leung

Staff is very friendly, the tonkatsu is delicious and prices are fair.

Marjorie Perez

Good food and great service! Me and my partner love it here

amanda S

I ordered the pork loin carbonara and the cheese crabmeat croquette through uber eats. My 5 star rating is purely for the pork loin carbonara, it was my first time ever trying katsu and it absoluetly did not disappoint, it was sooo good. The croquettes on the other hand were not my cup of tea at all, pretty tasteless and the cheese felt purely visual to me because it had no taste. I however will definetly be ordering the pork loin carbonara again and again, really filling and worth the price. EDIT I ordered the Carbonara Katsu a second time and I spoke too soon. This time was completely different than the first. Their portions are NOT conistsent, I got about half the size that I got the first time, literally. The first time I didnt have enough carbonara for the meat this time i had left over carbonara. I wanted my mother to try it and her first comment looking at it was how little the food was and how it probably was not worth the price. I feel like they may have been running low on kastu or something because they seriously cheaped me out. The food still tasted good but I felt scammed.

Gloria Chan

Ordered Curry Cheese Katsu, Original Katsu, and Takoyaki. 5/5 Taste - Crunchy outside, juicy and tender inside. The cheese katsu isn't simply layered cheese on top, it has cheese inside the fried layer. Takoyaki is also fried and crispy. 5/5 Service - waitress was attentive. Came by to ask if we want more soup. 4/5 Atmosphere - Few seats, not good for large groups. Seats are uncomfortable. Overall fantastic, would definitely return for more katsu.

Chris S

The pork katsu was ok and the atmosphere was quite nice. But the flavour has something lacking. It was definitely sweeter than expected. The portion sizes are huge so very economical.

Yan Wang

Too greasy, very slow service, the meat is not cooked through, disappointing, will not go back again

charles Yu

miserable store I waited 30 mins for my take out order When I ask for refund they told me my order can be ready in 5 mins ???????

Q

Great food. Glad they open a location here!

Yunseung Nam

Very well designed and clean space! More importantly, the food was good!

Jonathan White

Excellent food, fast service and awesome cash incentives during the pandemic! Will keep coming back!

Josh Tano

Food taste amazing with good portion sizes. Currently take out only.

Ali Abbas

Ordered the Crab and Cheese Croquettes and the Red Carbonara Katsu Chicken. Asked for extra spicy and wow, it hit the spot! Amazing service and even better food.

Markus Pierson

exceptional katsu, consistently amazing quality, great price.. miss the ambiance of eating in but hopefully that will come back around soon!

Laura M

Loved the quality of chicken katsu! Definitely ordering it again.

Albert Kong

Very good for the price with the 30% off when paying cash. Got 2 meals with an appetizer for $33. The serving are huge and tasty

Craig D

Loved this place. The food was so good. The Japanese curry was the best. Will definitely be back. Only down side is they don't serve beer as yet but it's coming in the future.

Quinten Balfour

They make their panko fresh and cook your food to order. Come hungry, the portions are generous and it's sure to satisfy. The cheese stuffed Katsu is unreal. They offer fish, chicken and pork katsu. You get pickled cabbage and jalapeno starter with miso soup. Takoyaki is phenomenal and absolutely smothered in bonito flakes and house sauce. Good for lunch and dinner with lighter and more rich options on the menu. Highly recommend if you like crispy fried meats.

Tina Tran

Food is so good, portions are big, and their 30% off cash takeout is such a bonus!

Ackson Lee

Staff extremely rude, had to walk out with friends because staff ignored us and would seat guests who came after.

Chris Glofcheskie (cglof)

Ordered takeout from here last night. I like how consistent this place is. I have ordered various dishes from here in the past and they have always maintained the same good quality and taste. I love eating here and will continue to in the future.

Marc Piovesan

Gimmicky menu. Nothing for vegetarians.

Melissa MacNab

Absolutely delicious!

Emily Do

Feel more safe since use QR code instead of menu. Their fried pork cutlet is amazing and the portions are large! Takoyaki is highly recommended very crunch.

Kevin Chin

Love the food and flavours here! Always very filling and freshly made.

Reina

This will quench your curry katsu cravings. But prepare for the long wait times. Can get very busy

Joanna Montanaro

Awesome place for Japanese cutlets. They offer pork, chicken, fish (and I think beef) cutlets we had chicken and pork. Both were fresh and juicy. The sauce on the original style was delicious. You also get unlimited miso and pickled cabbage with every tonkatsu set. You also get an additional serving of rice if you request it. Prices are reasonable ($15-$20 per set). There is also a thermos of hot tea per table. The restaurant is clean and bright. 5% discount if you pay in cash!

Erica T

Delicious. Definitely one of our favourite places to eat in Mississauga. The katsu portion size is quite large, so usually we (2 girls) split one and an appetizer. We recommend the original sauce or sweet chilli, and takoyaki. The only sauce I don't recommend is the garlic chilli, the fried garlic was overcooked and tastes bitter. No complaints about the service, the staff were very attentive whenever we dined-in in the past!

Carter Garcia

I’ve lived beside this plaza for maybe 2 years and never been here. Always assumed it was 50 bucks a meal. But I stopped by tonight and gotta say , this is probably going to become my go-to place. Food tastes AMAZING. You can get a full meal and have leftovers for 15 bucks. and tip your waitstaff because they’re super nice people :) 10s across the board

Sarun Pal

Okay food

Michelle F

We went here for the first time a month ago. Its a cozy space and the menu is simple so it was somewhat easy to make a decision on what sauce and toppings we wanted! I got the snow white and my husband got the carbonara. Both sauce and toppings were delicious and the portion sizes were well worth the price! It reminded me of Japan with the unlimited cabbage and miso soup! Definitely coming back to try the other flavours and the honey fries.

Johnnah Daia

Food tastes alright. Portions are on the smaller size, but are priced accordingly.

Mikai Villegas

The best katsu in Mississauga!

Michelle Rouse

Delicious moist chicken and lots of different options. Above and beyond with having kids cutlery and high chairs available

Peter

Serving sizes run large. Service is horrendous. Waiters forgot patrons existed, and consistently forgot orders. Quality of food is mediocre, but certainly not with the $15-20 price tag. Would have been acceptable at $10-12.

Sharlyn Grace Gante

HOW?! How can a restaurant nail it every single time? Each time I come here, the quality and taste are always consistent. Their food never disappoints. I'm a big fan of their sweet chilli chicken/fish katsu which is cooked to a nice crisp. Their breading is made in house, using their own loaves. Their sauces with the katsu are on par. Recently I've gotten into the chicken karaage (thigh with Korean sauce that's a little spicy) and it tastes amazing! It's got a nice crunch to it as well. Servers are friendly, and you're always greeted by the kitchen staff. Unfortunately the dining area is closed during COVID, but it's a nice, cozy atmosphere that's a good spot to have a meal in. Definitely will be sitting in once this pandemic lifts.

Rio Hyun

Good taste however long waiting time for take out.....

gimpyhawk

Good food. Should have it's liquor licence soon.

Kevin Schaeffer

Small place but interesting food

Ed C

Nice food but no booze

Kristy

+updated during COVID19 based on my recent order, December 2019, I went to pick up the food: spicy carbonara katsu, 1lb chicken thighs, croquettes and tartar shrimp. The katsu was well packaged in the bento container and their sauce never lets you down. Left over food almost taste like new when airfried and the sauce is so good when you use is as a pasta sauce! I always add an order to sauce to make pasta. :) -I ordered food from Bobooya North York and if anyone is into Korean Jokbal pleasseeee try while their promo goes on! + update based on my recent visit, December 2019, the quality got better and the servers were all friendly as usual. Impressed every time I go. Been there more than enough to review. I think I’ve tried everything on the menu and I was satisfied with all of them! I was happy with their service every time I visit. Great food & service

Edgar Oliver Penas

This is a overhyped and overrated restaurant in mississauga. If you want to eat a breaded pork with cabbage salad and two spoon of rice worth 16 dollars, just go to all you can eat asian restaurant. There is nothing special on its food.Though, place is nice and staff is polite!

Eleanor L

Decent food, but they would do well to offer more support for those who are unfamiliar with the dishes. For example, a friend of mine told me to order a certain appetizer which was unique and delicious, but in the menu is just the Japanese name and no explanation, so I wouldn't have known otherwise. Come by and ask if you can explain, and/or put info in the menu! Great decor, service, atmosphere. What's the deal with the cheap break-apart chopsticks that leave splinters in your food and fingers? Pony up for some real cutlery. Unique food experience and plating, and this definitely detracts from it.

Herman Chu

Good food, great atmosphere and friendly service!

Ashley Ealdama

Delicious food, very busy but quick service

Kindle Santos

Had the cheese and Japanese curry. Portion of the pork was huge! Very nice and tender. Curry was very tasty - not too spicy. Sides are unlimited refills. Will definitely return

mochaguy 22

Food was delicious but my only complaints are the hard surface seating and not enough coat hangers for EVERYONE. Had to wear my thick winter coat while eating.

J P

my promo for buy one get one on uber eats didn’t go through, owner refused to offer resolution

LoCo CrAzY

They ran out of food at 7pm. Pathetic!

A Markus

Their pork loin katsu is the best ????It comes with a few different styles of sauce. Our favourite are the original, carbonara, and Terry mayo ????????????

Daniel Phu

Amazing service! Staff are extremely friendly and keep you updated on the status of your order. Would definitely recommend coming to this location.

Donald Tin

Very good good and good value. Cabbage salad and miso soup is unlimited refill!! Rice can be also refilled once!! Came on an early evening on Friday night and avoided the line up!! Katsu was excellent and so are the sauces!

Althea I

friendliest staff!

Jane Cho

Be honest, the food was good but don't expect the equal service from the severs. As soon as we entered the store we had a sever in front of us and then she didn't greet at all instead, we had to say how many of us. No hello said at first Nothing said when the food was arrived at table No smile of course The management really should do something to the young servers who really do not serve the guests

Art

Had the teriyaki katsu with bono flakes. Meditative to watch the flakes fluttering from air currents. Tasty too.

Albert K

Hilariously terrible experience. The server placed the the food on the table on an angle and the salad slid off to the table. she then picked up the salad with her bare hand and put it back on the plate. She then walked away as if nothing was wrong. Are you kidding? Instead of apologizing and taking the food back, she called the manager over. Wow if this is how you treat food in front of the customer, I wonder how you guys treat the food in the back. I would not be surprised if you get a violation of health code. If you value your health, don't go.

Matt Sowinski

Ordered the curry cheese katsu and my girlfriend had the Spicey garlic cheese katsu - both absolutely fantastic. Service was good as well. Amazing food.

Catherine Liu

Ordered twice in one week since I discovered this gem! Friendly and efficient service and the tonkatsu is really good as well. Highly recommend!

BP Household

Ginormous portions of juicy tender tonkatsu - we were surprised by how well the light and refreshing cabbage salad balances out the meal. Only negative is that they only had one front of house staffer who seemed a bit overwhelmed. We will definitely be coming back here.

S H

Won’t be ordering here anymore through ubereats. Took an hour and 15 mins to receive food but no apology from the staff who solely blamed on the driver.

Nicole S

Huge portions and great flavour!

Connor Hendry

Portions were large and the Pork cutlet was high quality. Would suggest to other and go again in the future.

E Mararac

Sooooo good! Portion was bigger than i thought ☺ definately worth the money!

I'm really loving the quality of both the food and service available at Katsuya; both at this location and the North York location (the food was so good I took different groups of friends to the two locations in the span of one week). The breading for the Katsu is amazing, it's enough to cover the cutlet but it's not a crazy amount that ruins the cut either. I've tried the Red Carbonara and White Snow Chilli katsu so far, and they were both very generously large portions and the sauce for each was delectable. Only sides I've had were the chicken thigh and chicken wing karaage, and I would be okay with those being the only sides I'm allowed to get if I every go again. The seasoning for the thighs and wings are different so you aren't just paying for a different cut of meat, but also a different flavour. And they are oh so tender; never have I ever needed so little effort to bite into a nice juicy delicious piece of chicken karaage. 11/10 would go again, I'm essentially dragging all my friends who have time to get food with me to Katsuya lately.

Dominic Damar

The food is good, we had the Japanese sauce and the sweet chili sauce. Both are good. Currently take out only, the organization is a disaster. U can order ahead of time or order there. We ordered there, was told to come vack in 5 to 10 min. But when we got back, we were told to re-line up each time we try to check if the food is ready. The last 2 times I realize they're not checking the right order because i saw my food is ready but they said its not. Had to point it out, if not i had to re-line up again to get my food .

Dean Sauddin

I was greeted by all of the workers as I walked in which was a nice touch. I was seated quickly and given a menu without much hesitation. The dishes I ordered did not take long at all, and even then the miso soup they provided me held me over. The karaage was good, but my favourite dish had to be the brick cheese katsu. I love cheese katsu, but when its laid out in strips, the distribution of cheese is perfect. I will definitely be here again.

Lana Zuhair

Great customer service, delicious food, seemed very hygienic, reasonable wait times and very well priced if paying by cash!

J Sila

I had takoyaki to start, and an original pork tender tonkotsu. My girlfriend had the garlic chili pork loin (not pictured). Both dishes were delicious. The breading was light and fluffy, while the meat was incredibly tender. While the tonkotsu was the main feature, the other dishes complimented it well. It comes with rice, cabbage, and miso soup, all of which are bottomless. Our server Soobin was very courteous, and the food came out quickly. Although it was a bit pricey, it was worth it for the taste and volume of the food. Will definitely visit again in the future.

Siobhan S.

Holy moly...I don't even know where to begin. I love Tonkatsu but haven't been able to have it in quite some time. Katsuya is in our neighbourhood so we figured we'd try it out. We called to have our order for takeout, and as everyone has mentioned, you get 30% off if you pay with cash. We got 2 entrees and a starter for around $30. The price is definitely right even before you consider the portion sizes! We shared the Crab Croquettes and they were so delicious, I almost cried. The tartar sauce has the perfect acidity to complement the richness of the croquettes. My husband had the Japanese Pork Mozza Katsu and I had the Silver Brick Cheese Katsu. Both came with a perfect amount of rice, cabbage salad, and miso soup. So much cheese, but surprisingly it wasn't too much. The sauce that came with it is very similar to a mix of BBQ sauce and HP sauce and, just like the tartar sauce, it cut the richness down. Lastly, the staff are super pleasant and nice! We're ordering it again tonight and we may end up ordering from here at least once weekly.

moe baltazar

love the food here. if you want some japanese fusion definitely check this restau ..its the best.

Alice

Huge pork cutlets that are very tender and juicy, staff had great service as well

Jenny

Food was great!! And servers were very attentive!

Greg Gura

2nd visit.. great overall experience again.

petermchiang

Very poor service, and you have to be able to speak Korean to get a bigger table, not worth anything, the food, service and price

Sarah P

Can’t go wrong with donkatsu. Their udon is also amazing.

Eana Padie

I always like eating here and I come here atleast twice or three times a month. But today, is the first time that they messed up my order. There are two types of original flavour and I specifically said japanese original chicken katsu which is the one that does not have a sauce. And at first they were not sure if they want to replace my order and I felt like they were forced to replace it even when the mistake was on their end. What a shame. I love the food here. It is excellent. But the service was a little on the down side. Hoping it improves.

Julie Kim

Their garlic chilli katsu is amazing. Its big and juicy. Don’t forget to try their cheese crabmeat croquette as it’s delicious and undoubtedly the go-to appetizer here.

Justin T

Definitely worth going to try since it's 30% off and it's good to support our local business. I would make sure the katsu they give you is fresh because I felt that some of them are sitting there for a little while. The takoyaki is really good.

David Cheng

Different kind of Japanese food rather than sushi. Food just done right, service is good.

G C

Not impressed at all. There was not enough gravy for the pork cutlet also the cutlet was on the dry side. The coleslaw had little to no dressing and the udong soup tasted like msg powder.

Nguyen Doan

Honestly this place is amazing, servers are very friendly and helpful. Food is so good I try to make a trip once a month at least.

Daniel Markhevka

Visited some friends in mississauga and came here at their suggestion. Great portion sizes with amazing, intense flavors and a great unique fusion of tastes. Can't wait to come back!

Reena Kadri

My friend ordered from here through Uber eats. Looked, smelled, and tasted so good. I think she got the Spicy Carbonara Katsu. And I think some red chicken in sauce on the side. She loved it! It was a little pricey but definitely worth it.

CharngEn Teng

Love this restaurant!! The best katsu I have tasted in Mississauga. Will definitely order more in the future!

Oleksandr Veksler

Food is good but waiters are on the phone instead of waiting tables. Takes forever to get any attention here

Emily Unal

Amazing food and a well-priced for all that you get.

V M.

One of my new favorite restaurants to eat at in Mississauga. Huge portions at a reasonable price. Great ambiance. You get free refills on the cabbage salad and miso soup. Definitely recommend the Katsu Carbonara and Chili Garlic.

Nick McLaren

The workers are great. The food is absolutely amazing and tasty. Totally Worth the money. Everyone should try them out

Saije Man

They got rid of my favorite variation, the double cheese katsu, and I haven't had it since. Please bring it back! Edit: I totally understand about the costing issues, as you have to do what's best for your company. But as a chef myself and a regular customer, my family and I would look forward to having the carbonara double cheese every 2 weeks, and unfortunately anything else leaves us unsatisfied with our meal. Every customer are not like us and we aren't rich by any means, however we don't mind the increase in cost if it means the enjoyment of having a dinner that is utterly delicious and truly satisfying. Just my thoughts as a regular customer. Thank you for the response.

Sasha Rampaul

Quality and service is always impeccable. The dining area is always kept spotless and the staff are so kind. I've been here a few times over the past year and I'll continue to return as a happy customer. I always try to order something I haven't already ordered from their menu and I've never been disappointed. It's all amazing.

Satish Deva

Loved your food, the waitress with the short hair was nice ????

Amy Yeung

Took advantage of the 30% cash discount for takeouts many times during the pandemic. Tried many varieties and our favourites are original pork loin katsu and original double cheese katsu. It seems like they no longer offer the tenderloin katsu anymore. Usually it takes about 20-40 mins for them to prepare the order so I would suggest call the restaurant to order ahead.

Z

Bit on the pricey side, but sides are unlimited, great reno and atmosphere, accessible location, esp. for UTM students.

eddie YG

This place was amazing. Now so so. the day that u went.. rice was hard.I will try next time again. then i can tell, if quality change back or not.

Hafsa Asad

The food here was delicious, flavors were tasty. However, the rice and chicken ratio was off. The plate had too little rice, but otherwise it was good :)

Seoeun Lee

Foods are so clean and delicious. And servers are kind as well. I recommend red udon.

Kooless

Good katsudon. Big fan of the Japanese style while my gf likes the spicy carbonara. Comes with unlimited miso soup and cabbage refill but only one rice refill sadly. They serve lemon (sometimes cucumber?) infused water which is interesting but its only a bit above room temp

K C

Opened here from North York, fantastic Japanese fusion restaurant most famous for their pork katsu (fried breaded pork chop). A lot of options which include filling your pork chop with cheese, even double cheese. Chicken, fish also available. Takoyaki was great as well. Atmosphere is great, just opened, clean. Staff is extremely friendly. Unlimited rice, salad and miso refills available if you order the katsu. Price is around $15-20 per person. Updated May 2019 - Updated review to reflect a deterioration in food quality and quantity. The North York location still deserves praise however the Mississauga location has skimped on quality and quantity in recent visits. Disappointed.

Chris Balram

Very flavourful. Sauce on top the meat makes the breading kinda soggy. Takoyaki is delicious! Chairs kinda uncomfy. Best to sit at the booth along the wall. Best part was they were playing dragonball super and other anime on the TV

Brian L

A bit of a late post as we had come here a week ago. We really liked the food and how light and crispy the outside breading was on both of our proteins. The sauce was delicious as well! The only thing was that it is a bit pricey (compared to other Asian restaurants) for what you get and thus the 4/5 stars - almost $40 after tips and tax; however, we were glad that we tried it but probably won't be here too often.

HWAI

This is a popular place for Japanese curry. Meun carries different varities of curry from original Katsu to Japanese curry to chilly and spicy curry. Presentation of dishes is pretty good. Besides, they offer unlimited soup and salad. Worth to give it a try.

Yubing Long

The service is nice, nothing to complain about that. As for the food. The katsu is perfectly cooked. But the cabbage salad is from the fridge and the fridge water in the salad is not very pleasant, it will be nice if they could make their salad fresh The pickled ginger and pickled radish are stored together and their tastes got mixed up. Miso is depends on personal preference but I think they put too much miso in it and the sea weed are over cooked. All those things are small but it add up. In the conclusion, it's a decent katsu house as a chain franchise.

Ernest Adique

Food was great and portions are a good size. Tried 4 different sauces and loved them all, there’s a sauce for every taste. The appetizers are also great, we had the takoyaki and croquettes. Will definitely be getting food form Katsura again!

Fortuno Cheung

Very well nice Japanese Pork tenderloin!

Serena Tong

Staff there are super nice but they got my order wrong twice lol First time I ordered a curry katsu and they forgot the curry. The second time I told them that last time I didn’t have the curry so please remember to include it. They were really nice and apologized and gave me a pop. BUT on this second order, they forgot to include an extra katsu that I ordered (I got potatos instead). My husband checked the number of boxes at the location but didn’t open them to check. Other than that, they are okay… but I don’t have much faith going back lol

Michael Del Pilar

Went here a couple times before they closed down dine in at restaurants in the peel area. Every time I have gone has been a great experience, staff is nice and the way they have handled their precautions since the pandemic started (temperature checks when you come in, sanitizer at the entrance, scan for the menu etc). If you've never had Japanese style Katsu this is the place to go! I'd also recommend either the Japanese style, or original from their menu. The Japanese style feels authentic as you get to grate some sesame seeds to go with your tonkatsu sauce. The original just taste great and my favorite item.

Joel Kim

Great katsu, reminds me of places I visited in South Korea. I had the pork tenderloin katsu, very crispy and the meat was moist. The original katsu sauce was the highlight though, it's delicious! They give you free rice and miso soup refills, the soup was very good. Interior is rustic industrial, very clean and hip. Music was an appropriate volume, service was excellent. Server was very smiley and polite. Price is a bit high (~$15+ pre-tax per plate), especially if you order drinks or appetizers, but I think it's justified. Definitely adding this place to my list of go-to restaurants.

Nabeel Tariq

Staff are nice and food is good! Gamsahabnida.

Emma P

Consistently tasty food! I love the fish katsu with red carbonara sauce - it is so delicious every time!! Also, I love the easy-to-use takeout containers. This restaurant has excellent customer service and their miso soup is so good!

A Pua

Classic and more modern twist to katsu with original, curry, carbonara, spicy carbonara, cream sauce. Good service and good sized portions

David Choi

For me, service was decent, but the food wasn’t as decent as the service. The garlic in my garlic spicy katsu was overcooked/burned, salad dressing taste was weak, and yellow radish tasted like it went bad. I didn’t know that pickled radish can go bad.

S C

Update: Although I appreciate the restaurant replying back to my feedback, I want to challenge the statement given about the quality of your cheese. I would start by recommending a change to your cheese supplier if you are so sure that your cheese is not a cheap ingredient. There is NO WAY the cheese going in your cheese katsu is legit mozzarella cheese. It was very reminiscent of craft single cheese as it had a very low melting point and did not revert back to its original shape even after the food was cold....real mozzarella is supposed to be stringy and elastic, NOT gooey. I would strongly suggest you to use actual mozzarella cheese for your cheese katsus for the better quality of your food and the satisfaction of your customers. I really do like your variety of sauce, and I am truly sad about yesterday's experience as I was looking forward to a good dinner...unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location again. Best of luck. *************************************************** I used to be a big fan for Katsuya, as I love their variety in sauce selection, however last night was such a big disappointment. We ordered one red carbonara cheese katsu, one original pork katsu, and extra order of cheese katsu. First of all, red carbonate sauce was very watery. It was not thick at all, and amount of seafood they put in sauce has decreased very significantly which was the first disappointment. Secondly, the quality of cheese in cheese katsu was sooooo bad! It is supposed to be mozzarella cheese they put in there, but it did NOT taste like mozzarella at all, and it smelled a bit funky too. It didn't have ANY chewy texture in cheese, and it was just so weird. It felt like they used some sort of extra processed cheap cheese they sell in cheap grocery store. I honestly couldn't finish my cheese katsu, because texture and smell of the cheese was soooo bad. Due to melted cheese, that's not good at all, crust of the katsu was extremely soggy as well. They used to use low moisture mozzarella cheese in the past, but I feel like they are cutting corners to save cost, which as existing customer feels cheated. Third of all, this is not so much of a complaint, but heads up: their 30% off cash payment promotion is no longer there. I have paid total of 60 dollars for food yesterday, which isn't very cheap for katsu. I would not have minded price point, if quality of food held up. However with yesterday's horrible experience, I can confidently say that I won't be back. Those of you who want to taste real cheese katsu should definitely give Mr.Tonkatsu a try. They use legit mozzarella cheese, and they don't cut corners like Katsuya did. I just want to say that I am really disappointed and sad about this change in their ingredient selection.

Michelle H.

My mom and I ordered the curry pork loin katsu ($15) and the garlic chilli pork loin katsu ($15) and both dishes were delicious! We ordered these based on others' recommendations/reviews. The meat is definitely super tender and juicy, and the breading is perfectly light and crispy. Portions were quite generous, I suppose, but I feel like at my hungriest I could definitely eat more than one katsu. For super hungry goers, I'd recommend ordering an appetizer to share or adding an additional katsu (+$9.75) and/or side rice (+$1.50) to eat with the leftover sauce (a cheaper way to fill up). Next time, I look forward to trying the hot spicy katsu! Not a cheap eat, but definitely not badly priced for what you get!

V Chung

The Cheese Crabmeat Croquette is soooooo good.

Harris Madriaga

Best curry Katsu I have ever had!!!!!!!!!

Sarah Z

Delicious food, service a bit slow but okay, seat not comfortable. Interior design is cute. Love the refill soup and salad.

Mark Oanes

Great food and great service. Food was made fast!

Haje kim

Too overcooked and some of pieces were even burnt. Servers were too busy to come over our table to ask about foods. I dont know if its normal or not since there was a group table when we got there so the kichten were super busy especially today. I and my gf we were very disappointed. Takoyaki was really good tho

James Kim

Friendly staff, great food. Can't go wrong with fried things

Eizvone Solis

Katsuya is our fave lunch go to place. Their pork is very crispy and tender. My personal fave is the terri mayo katsu, the sauce is the bomb. They have ongoing 30% off if you pay cash, everyone's hurting because of covid and we try to buy from local. This place deserves 5 star, their portion is huge, comes with salad, miso soup and huge pork schnitzel

Sunny Cho

It's super delicious~!!

Neesha Mankasingh

Just bought this and the pic showed 4 full pieces. Tell me did I get 4 ?

Ajen Kuganeswaran

This is one of my favourite places to go to for a divine meal. It showcases a cultures very own traditions and the service here is phonomenal, and very reliable. They are super quick with their work and are hardly ever dealyed in waiting for food to be brought to the table. Overall the interior design and the food are both fantastic. 10/10 Must try!

Candace Armstrong

Excellent a must try. 100%going back

Simon Huang

Great spot to eat at for delicious Japanese katsu. Not too busy yet so usually you're able to get a seat without waiting. Friendly staff and delicious food. This place is a must try!
