We were happy to support this small business because it's our favourite Italian restaurant. It's a small space and it's perfect for special occasions. The food is fantastic and they have a wide array of pasta and meat dishes as well as appetizers. We always get grilled calamari but I forgot to take a picture of it before we ate them. Just know that they're perfectly cooked and with balsamic vinegar they're delicious; which brings me to my point, all of the food I've eaten there is delicious. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Grazie Grano! We came in after 10+ hours in the car (on our way from Chicago to Montreal). They were very welcoming and didn't have a problem at all with our casual attire. Here's the breakdown: Ambience: Nice - I liked the tiny-ness of it. Cloth tablecloths and formal-ish feel, if you wanted it to be, but still casual enough for a weeknight dinner in shorts and a T-shirt (like I said - we were road weary). It's a nice little intimate spot. Service: Fabulous. We used Maps to get there, and it said we were there, but we couldn't locate it! We called and the hostess not only provided additional directions, she came outside to flag us down and held a parking spot for us! That's above and beyond! The server was very friendly and competent as well. Food: Delicious! I had a classic - a baked rigatoni. The sauce was really tasty - a bit tangy, thick, well seasoned. My friend ordered a special with pasta and sausage and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Salads were very fresh and the presentation overall was very nice. The one thing - I wanted an Aperol Spritz and they did not know what it was, then realized they didn't have Aperol anyway. Not a huge deal, but usually available in any Italian restaurant. Price: The value for what we got was appropriate - not outlandish, not super cheap, but on target. Bottom line - would I recommend/go again? For sure! If you're ever in Toronto area, it's worth a visit. And if you can't find them - they'll flag you down!

Was in Mississauga on business, my co-worker and I were looking for something different and came across this hidden gem. First sign that the meal was going to be good was when we asked for a table they asked if we had a reservation, when we said no the response as "oh!" They did find us a table by the bar that some have reviewed as noisy, I found the location fine in this small restaurant. This place reminded me of the style of restaurants I have visited in Europe. We found the Food to be authentic and made fresh and very delicious. The staff was attentive but not overbearing, a more European style of service where they only come when you finish a course and are ready for the next. Even was able to enjoy my whole coffee with out someone showing up with the bill and debit machine. I will make a point of visiting this gem when in Mississauga again.

Simply the best Italian restaurant in Mississauga. It's on the small side and is family owned and operated, making it intimate and flexible. Both the food and service are of the highest quality. The gnochi (made with ricotta, not potato) with gorgonzola sauce is simply the best I've every had anywhere in the world (and yes, I'm including Italy in my comparison!). I've never been disappointed after a dozen or so visits.

Fresh pasta and sauce so good you'll want to lick the plate are the highlights of every trip to Grano. The wait staff are upbeat and highly knowledgeable on all the dishes. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant is busy and the dining space is on the small/intimate side. If it's your first time, I recommend the fresh homemade gnocchi with the gorgonzola cream sauce.

Yes! I recommend this place. Not a major fancy factor, but it's Italian food done RIGHT! Every dish is carefully executed. The gnochi is like little fluffy pillows or delicious delectible perfection. All the food is fantastic. Little hole in the wall, not particularly easy to find, but so worth it.

So good! I went to the restaurant for the first time for a friend's birthday dinner. I had the special, the Pollo Marino with pasta, it was "amazing"! The chicken was tender, the sauce was amazing, and the staff friendly. Everyone in the group was impressed. I have definitely found my new local favourite spot.

We went here for our team holiday dinner tonight. Very friendly owners. The food was amazing! We tried the grilled calamari for apps, and its the best I've ever had. For the main entree I had the seared salmon, topped with a fresh salsa and grilled veggies, and risotto on the side. The fish was so tender and flaky, not to mention so flavorful. The homemade tiramisu literally melted in your mouth. This is one of Mississauga's hidden gems. I highly recommend anyone to try it, you won't be disappointed.

I realized most of my online reviews were negative, because generally I get more motivated to write up a bad experience than a good one, so I should balance some karma by writing up my favourite restaurant in Mississauga :-) I've never been disappointed by the food quality, or the service, at Grano. The worst experience I've ever had was when I ordered a mussel dish after not having had mussels for years, and then being reminded why I don't order mussels very often. Reminder to self: don't eat mussels. Their daily specials almost always have at least one dish that's outstanding, but even when I can't have any of the specials (I have a food allergy that limits my choices), the salmon fettuccine is always amazing. There are a lot of specials, and they usually explain what they are (for those of use who don't speak Italian), and they're always happy to describe in detail. Sometimes there are so many specials that they have to repeat them. There's a chalk board that lists them, but it's not visible from every seat in the restaurant. When all of the daily specials included something I was allergic to, they even remembered that I routinely have the salmon, and made it for me that day, even though it wasn't on the menu. You can't complain about service like that. And if you don't want the specials, the regular menu is very well represented. Everything from basic spaghetti and meatballs (when you're travelling with 7 year olds who don't want to eat "fancy") to veal, sausage, calamari, and all sorts of other seafood, there's something there for everyone. The only problem I have with it is that because it's a family owned place, with seating for only about 35 (at most), you need a reservation if you're trying to get seating for 4 on a Saturday. If it's just one or two of you, or if you're there for lunch, go for it. Other than that, be sure to get a reservation, or be prepared to be turned away. Five stars, two thumbs up.

Really great good here. It’s classic homemade Italian, you can’t go wrong. Parking is really inconvenient though so prepare for that. You have to pay and park underground in a shady lot. As good as the food is, the place needs a little face lift. It’s very old school and dim. But that’s really just a side note once you start eating. The gnocchi is amazing, not to soft at all.

I took my girlfriend here thinking it was going to be great food because of all the good reviews. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the staff but the food was not good. I got the Pollo Marsala and the chicken was bland and the pene pasta with tomato sauce was cold and seemed it was old and they just microwaved it. My girlfriend got the pasta with alfredo sauce, crab, shrimp and lobster, she said she liked it, I had a taste of her food and it was good but nothing surprisingly good. Also at the beginning the waiter throws about 10 special dishes at you (they are not in the menu, he just verbally tells you them) by the time he finished talking I had forgotten the 9 last dishes he mentioned and he does not mention the price. I was hoping to try some desserts but I didn't, too scared they would just be average desserts, will I take my girlfriend here again? um, no.

WHAT TO TRY?! I think out of the pastas we've tried, the spaghettini with white creamy pesto sauce was the best. Very creamy and delicious. So I would recommend any pasta with their creamy sauce. But if you're not a white creamy sauce person, the next choice would be anything with the tomato sauce. The pasta dishes were affordable and generally alright, but I wouldn't say it was the best Italian pasta I've had. I also ordered linguine in aioli with rapini and sausage. The rapini was definitely overcooked and didn't taste like effort was put in to make the rapini because it was that overcooked to borderline mushy. I don't usually like giving bad ratings but other than the food, service was very poor. There was only one server for the whole dining area (which is not a big place) and I think he was the owner to the place. He didn't serve me water when I asked for it and his attitude towards giving us service was very poor. It's almost like he was expecting me to order wine or else I'll have to wait for the water when he remembers or when he feels like it. My friends and I got the impression that he was annoyed at us and he wanted to leave on time at 9 pm when his restaurant were to close because he emphasized the restaurant would be closing at 9 pm at 8 pm while we were enjoying our dinner. I felt really bad because my friends felt very uncomfortable eating at his restaurant and felt rushed. I understand ppl may have bad days, but if you work in the service industry, it's expected that patrons wish to be served with kindness and care if patrons did not do anything wrong. Restaurants thrive on having loyal customers coming back and good word of mouth. It's unfortunate that his service was very rude and uncalled for. I would not be recommending such a restaurant and his service to my fellow friends and readers. LAST TIP?! If you have a big party, this restaurant may not be able to accommodate your size. You'll have to call in advance. They emphasize they are a family restaurant and can only serve so many people at one time. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you want to have a great time if you are served by this server.

What a spectacular little spot! The food is exquisite. My fiance said it was the best Italian food he's ever had. I'm still thinking about our meals, they were that good! But what really makes this spot special is the staff. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. You really feel the love during the whole dinning experience. Quality of the food was VERY good: appetizers, entrees and desert. Service was also good, super nice and friendly staff. I had dinner with my husband and another couple and asked everyone how many stars they would give and all answered 4 stars, but for different reasons. Responses: seemed like the customers can’t have what they want if the owner/manager doesn’t “approve” of it. Example 1: Asked for olive oil to eat with the bread, was told no because the bread already comes with butter, I still wanted the olive oil but didn’t get it. Example 2: Asked for more bread to finish my plate and enjoy the rest of the red tomate sauce and couldn’t get it, just because they don’t give two baskets of bread per table. In 4 we had 1 basket. Charge clients for more bread, shouldn’t say no. Example 3: Charging clients 18% to split checks doesn’t seem fair, charge at least how ever much the extra transaction would cost, but profit from splitting checks is not really fair. Good experience overall.

The Best Italian Restaurant in Mississauga! Family owned, I can simply be grateful that, in this difficult time with the pandemic, Felina and Sandro are offering pick ups on Fridays and Saturdays! They have prepared our meals with great care to the freshness and presentation, like if we were sitting in their lovely restaurant. The Pollo Amore and the Penne Arrabiata were excellent!! In my opinion, the tastiness of the food was not enough to make up for the negative impression I was left with at this restaurant. We, a party of six, were seated in the area along the window and rest assured, it FELT that way: we had to ask them to turn up the heat, but we only started to feel the change in temperature near the end of the meal. This discomfort has a way of ruining your dining experience, in my opinion. I requested the soup of the day off the menu to warm up, but they did not have any soup, period. Expecting that the pasta would be made in-house in what I consider a pricey restaurant that's built up on Google reviews, I thought I would check anyway with the waitress, and to my surprise she confirmed that the pasta is not made in the restaurant. I ended up having a plate of rigatoni anyway, served in their tomato sauce (probably also pre-purchased) and broiled with some parmesan on top. This was filling only because pasta is heavy anyway, but it really lacked that little something on the side, like a small green salad with a vinaigrette, which would have cost them nothing and added a whole lot to the flavour and appearance of my dish. I do admit the pasta was flavourful and comforting in a soul-melting way, and the bread served beforehand with the oil and balsamic hit the spot. However, again, my husband ordered an entree which featured a disappointingly small portion of chicken for an adult diner. To be fair, the server was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros and we will not be back here.

Was in Mississauga on business, my co-worker and I were looking for something different and came across this hidden gem. First sign that the meal was going to be good was when we asked for a table they asked if we had a reservation, when we said no the response as "oh!" They did find us a table by the bar that some have reviewed as noisy, I found the location fine in this small restaurant. This place reminded me of the style of restaurants I have visited in Europe. We found the Food to be authentic and made fresh and very delicious. The staff was attentive but not overbearing, a more European style of service where they only come when you finish a course and are ready for the next. Even was able to enjoy my whole coffee with out someone showing up with the bill and debit machine. I will make a point of visiting this gem when in Mississauga again.

We were first delighted to have Italian food in an authentic Italian restaurant, but even after a reservation, we were seated in a very discomforting position between the passage to the kitchen and the rest of the restaurant. Moreover, the waitresses were not pleased to see us. We were rushed into deciding our dishes that night and the overall experience a bitter taste.

I pass this restaurant everyday as I walk home and even the smell from the vent is great, so I thought I'd recommend this place for dinner with my visiting mother one night. We walked in and I was immediately charmed by the chic but quaint decor, with dim light and slow, catchy Italian songs mixed with your run-of-the-mill pop songs. We sat down and got to ordering food and wine. For our wine, we chose from a nice selection of wines, eventually deciding on a Zenato Ripassa 2012. It paired beautifully with the food. We proceeded to order our entrées: large bruschetta and a plate of grilled calamari. The bruschetta was great, in my opinion. One unique thing about it is that the bruschetta was topped off with cheese and thrust in the oven. It binds normally messy bruschetta like glue, and the heat brought great flavour out of the tomatoes. It was an unusual, but effective twist on a staple of any Italian menu. The calamari was oh-so-great! I'm near-addicted to calamari, and this generous portion came with perfectly served calamari on a bed of greens with balsamic sauce. It was terrific. We even got oven-fresh garlic bread to mop up the balsamic vinegar. That portion satisfied three people, for the record. For the main dish, my cousin and my mother had spaghetti rapini with cured sausage slices and mixed greens. I had the ricotta-cheese ravioli topped with a tomato-rosée sauce. The dishes were all great. Granted, mine was normal house food for some, but my cousin and mother let me try their dish and it was amazing. There may have been a tad too much olive oil at the bottom of the plate, but hey, the dish as a whole impressed with its elegant, tasteful simplicity. We proceeded to dessert rather quickly, as the food was not heavy at all. I had the cheese cake and my cousin had the walnut creme brulée (my mom had the thieving spoon). I really enjoyed my cheese cake. It had chocolate mudcake base, with a joint vanilla-infused and chocolate-infused body. I loved it. It wasn't debilitatingly-heavy or anything, and it tasted great. My cousin's walnut creme brulée stole the show. I tried one spoon and it was gone before I got to ask for a second taste. Both desserts were great. All in all, just well-executed versions of otherwise widespread dessert recipes. All in all, we had great service, a great experience and a hearty meal for a very fair price (less than 70 for 3). The owner was very curt and the restaurant itself is amazing. Its location at the foot of a condo, behind a tilted kilt pub, really shrouds this great place. It's truly one of Mississauga's hidden gems, and one I'd recommend to anyone anyday.

The front door leads you to a little piece of Italy. Its such a quaint little Italian place with such a lovely vibe through out the entire restaurant. We have been there numerous times and it never failed us. I could order anything off of the menu and love it- which is not something I can say for any other restaurant I have visited. Tonight was the first time my Wife and I have been to Grano Ristorante and I'm not a big fan of Italian food. My experiance at Grano Ristorante was an amazing culinary experiance and I have now made a 360 with regard to eating Italian food. The service we received was outstanding, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was out of this world. We tried this resto cuz the reviews is 4.5* but very disappointed. The food is not great either. Its summer time and its so hot inside I think the owner wants to save an electricity bill plus the area itself is crowded/small no much space between tables. The WORST thin that the owner/ staff( I believe she,s the owner) watching us eating. I want my pasta more cheese and when the staff going around if us customers want extra cheese the owner come to me that in Italian eat with less cheese. Love this cozy family run establishment. There are only approximately 12-15 tables and is truly a step into Italy. An extensive menu of pastas and carne is offered as well as many daily specials. Make sure you save room for dessert as the Felina special is worth a few extra calories. My personal favourite is a Vitello noche if you eat veal. It's created in a Frangelico Cream sauce with pistachios. An option of a side pasta or vegetable and potato round out this dish Reservations are recommended due to the intimate nature of this restaurant. Reasonably priced, homemade quality. A 10+

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant after a trip to Square One. We’re so happy we did the ambience is wonderful, service excellent and the food was delicious. I had the Penne Alla Vodka and he had the Gnocchi both were amazing. The bread they serve is tasty as well. We were lucky they squeezed us in but ideally book ahead!

Ok! So it was my choice to select a dinner location for our couples night out finally after 18 months! We love trying new places, and let me tell you we fell in love with this place immediately! The cozy atmosphere was only the beginning. The simple menu led me to believe that the food would be intimate. We were not disappointed. With each dish made to order it did not have that "waiting" taste. The freshness of the tomatoes (later to be learned that a lot of items were from Filina's personal garden!) on the bruschetta and the Caprese Salad bursting with flavour. Our main dishes were equally as delicious and impressive, selecting was no simple task! The Veal Parmigiana with a pasta choice was popular for three of us and was tender and filling, Spaghetinni al pesto or the Gnochhi made from ricotta cheese a refreshing change. ...and...the cheesecake and The Fantasy with homegrown peaches..omg! This excellent Family run restaurant has gained 8 new customers from one sitting and we are looking forward to our next visit and trying something else from the menu. I'm so happy that my blind choice was the right choice!

My wife and I have been going to Grano's for the past couple of years, and it is definitely one of our favorite places. She'll always get the same dish (Pollo Amore) which never disappoints, and I typically go for one of the specials. It's always a good experience here, but have noticed some slight differences since new ownership took over. If you're in Mississauga, looking for great Italian this is the place that I would recommend.
