Had a very good breakfast here on the way to Prince Edward Island. The wait staff is very friendly and will answer any questions about the food or the area you ask. The price was very reasonable and the portion size was very good.

Stopped here for lunch on my way through town.The decor was nice, everthing was spotless and the server was attentive and freindly. I had the fish and chips, while my friend had the clubhouse.The fries and battered fish were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The clubhouse had real Turkey and bacon, and the cheese wasn't processed. The plate was overflowing with a giant portion, and the prices were very reasonable.I highly recommended you check this place out...you wont be disappointed.

Portage Restaurant in Mirimachi N.B. is amazing, people who know me well know that I am actually really fussy and hard to please when it comes to restaurant food, I say 10 out 10 for this place plus bonus points for the amazing coleslaw, OMG yes I ate coleslaw, that's how damn good the food is here, and the ladies that serve you are not just friendly, they make you feel like part of the family and that makes for a more enjoyable meal, Thank You to the staff...

Judging from the reviews this seems like the place to be, unless you were my bf and I today. So disappointed, thanks for the water I guess, it was refreshing while we watched the waitress serve other people and not even look at us. Maybe you have to be an older couple to be here? We looked like children compared to the other guests here. No idea, not even a sorry or a look in our direction when we left. We must have been invisible.

I never seen nothing ad worst as this restaurant, the service was very slow, the clam shoulder was not fit to eat, to much starch in, I know I am a chef and the chop was very dry and finally my son's roast beef had some piece of ropa and the price for all of that 65.00 unbelievable and when I mentioned this to the manager she gave me 5.00 discount. I give this place 1 on 10.

No greeter at the door, so waited a while to be seated, only 3 waitresses on staff so slow service, ordered French toast, got two eggs with a piece of bread in the middle basically, boyfriends over-easy egg was hard, toast burnt, ordered orange juice that never came, was never asked how the meals were. Seems pretty disorganized. Not impressed, didn’t finished food we just left.

Breakfast is IMHO the best. My boiled eggs are cooked to perfection. We do go there frequently for Sunday breakfast and sometimes, return for supper. The food is well prepared. The Roast turkey supper is our favourite followed by their Roast beef supper, and their chicken strips and seafood platter is something I recently tried. Delicious. The place has great desserts, pies, cake, cheesecake, sundaes etc. Covid rules in place. Waitresses are the best!

Good food, but they asked already for a vaccine passport for a child under 12 and serious considered not letting us in over our 7 year old not having his vaccine yet, despite that not even being a rule. To which she pointed out it isn't "Yet" may be the last time I eat there.

We sat down, waitress took our drink orders then took the food orders when she brought the drinks. Never saw her at our table again. Another waitress brought out our food. We were missing a soup and a side of gravy tried to tell that waitress and she just walked away. Dad went up to our waitress to ask for the missing gravy and after making him repeat it three times she said she would bring it right out. Never saw her again. Went to pay and our waitress was at the cash desk, she asked for our bill, husband said and how would we get that when you never came back to our table? They removed the soup and side of gravy and our two drinks as an apology. This trip was meh.

When my son and his precious little family came to visit me here in Miramichi, they offered to take me out to dinner and asked if I have a preference. I chose the Portage Restaurant because I had heard it's really nice, family oriented, and serving wholesome, home cooked meals. I found this to be true. The service is excellent, the food was prepared well and in a timely manner, and they are really accommodating about special orders and the needs of small children. I would highly recommend the Portage Restaurant in Miramichi, NB.

Use to love eating here, went to visit for first time in 5 years to show my girlfriend after bragging this place up, only to sit there for 20 mins with no one to come take our order and wouldn't look sideways at us. Finally we had enough and left to go eat else where. The service I got today was not the service I was use to from here. Food still looked amazing was, very disappointed that no one came to take our order to try the food.

Staff finished their conversation before addressing us. Although once the waitress got to us she was friendly. The food was quick to come out although the 2 other customers inside already had their food. The cheese burger was homemade and tasted great however I did not like the bun. It was soggy after a few bites. The French fries were almost perfect however I think a few of mine came in contact with ketchup or something of the sort as they tasted absolutely horrible. For the most part the meal was great and the service was decent.
