THE best meal I have had in a very long time! Best steak, cooked EXACTLY how I ordered. Yes, prices are higher but,if you want quality food you have to pay a higher price. Service was fabulous as well. It was packed and busy (valentines day) and we still got our meal, hot, fresh and with 30 minutes of ordering. Amazing! Every staff member was professional, polite and invested in delivering a great experience. We will be back often.

I have never left a review but this is too good not to mention. Where to start, the whole experience felt like a comedy of errors which certainly tested our patience. All the while though we were light hearted and joking the whole time; we were good sports. Though we figured someone at some point was going to break it to us that we were on Candid Camera as we endured so much!! Though that never happened... We (four adults and two young kids) had reservations on a Friday evening about a month back and were ushered into the back, a nice big table awaited us next to two couples out for a romantic evening. The digital menus didn’t work which was the first red flag, then the table was so wobbly that a drink would not have stayed upright had we given it the chance (how this got past quality control I don’t know?). We pointed this out and we were moved into a back room next to an older foursome. When we sat down they jokingly asked what we wanted for breakfast?? lol (indicating that this was going to take a very long time, which it did). I ordered a medium rare ribeye and it came out well-done and thin, like a scrap that they threw together. I pointed this out and they got me another one. In the meantime I wasn’t sure what to do with my hot veggies (do I eat them? will the steak come plated again the way it should have the first time?). Nobody came around for 15 min to ask, I just assumed I would get the meal I ordered and all would be hot and fresh so I sat patiently. At this point we pointed out the my wife’s salmon had not arrived (was forgotten) and took another 30 min or so, right about the time I got my steak (alone on a plate... had I known that, I would have eaten my veggies while they were hot/fresh). The steak was a great cut, perfect really though was still closer to medium well than medium rare... (what a contrast to what I received initially, the inconsistency here is mind boggling and seems the best cuts are reserved for those that are unsatisfied). I ordered apple juices for the kids but wanted them out when the food arrived. The waitress asked if I could ‘remind her’... which I had to, not once but four times. The thing is, I am out to have a good meal and a good time on a Friday night, ‘to not have to think’, and especially not to think for the waitress, that is her job, her job is to make sure that we are taken care of and that ‘we do not need to think’ (the Keg obviously doesn’t get this, customers pay a lot, and the experience matters and it better; because their food is just okay). It was certainly ‘an experience’ and glad we didn’t spend any hard earned money on it (not because we got anything for free, which I thought we might) as we used giftcards. In the future we will regift any Keg gift cards and or purchase them as a joke for the members of our party which will surely bring out a big laugh!! Overall, we didn’t let the experience spoil our evening, it was like a night at Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club... there was more but these were some of the highlights.

I have some difficult food allergies that make eating out tricky. The serving staff and kitchen manager went far beyond expectation to make sure I had a safe meal to eat. It was absolutely delicious as well. Our server Kimberley was very friendly and helpful. Easily the best dining experience I've had in a while.

I am very disappointed with the quality of food. When I go out to a "higher class" steakhouse I expect the food to at least taste good. Nothing tasted good. Everything was very bland. I ordered the calamari, it was the most tasteless thing I've ever eaten. If it wasn't for the sauces that came with it, it wouldn't have been palatable in the slightest. A little bit of seasoning and spices goes a long way. Something I feel a steakhouse should know. I also ordered the crab cakes which came with an interesting side to say the least. The crab cakes were nothing spacial, I'm not even sure the crab was what was listed on the menu. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped chicken, which I noticed another review on here also found dissatisfying. It was very bland as well. Overall the prices are too high for substandard quality food. I expect food from a restaurant of this caliber to be tastey, not tasteless. I could find much better quality food from the Boston Pizza next door. Which is really quite sad. Not worth the money you're paying. Will not be returning.

I have been to this Keg a couple of times. Had steak both times. One was excellent (New York peppercorn) one was average (16 ounce special). They were out of some cuts on my second visit so we went for the special. Drinks were good. Service was very good. This is a nice place to go for a meal out but it is a bit pricey. Steaks are the signature item.

We arrived without reservations but it wasnt too busy and were able to seat us. Unfortanately we waited 20 minutes before a staff member came to see us. Well this was our first time to the Med Hat Keg. It was an awesome experience. I have been to Keg restaurants all across Canada and this one is one of the nicest. The staff were great. Our waitress Morgan was excellent. She came not to often but just right amount of times to check on us. The food was also really really good. We will be back again.

Dining out at the Keg is not equivalent to "going out for something to eat". Even when it is just friends catching up, our Keg in Medicine Hat manages to make the experience more than just a meal. The food is flawless, of course, but there is so much more. My wife has acute chronic celiac disease. A tenth of a gram of bread will cause her the ultimate in gastric discomfort. Not a problem for the Keg. There are ample choices on the menu - although some fruit in the dessert section (Bananas Foster anyone?) would double the GF choices for afters. Kimberly, our server, was professional, eminently knowledgeable about the menu and options, and confident she could meet our needs - whatever they might be. The assistant manager oversaw my wife's order and ensured it was safe and excellent. Between the 3 of us we had beef, pork and chicken. All was superb. But it was the relaxed atmosphere and the unanimously pleasant and even happy staff that made it all worthwhile. The Keg - in Medicine Hat they serve much more than just a meal.

Our original waitress was great but out order took so long that we got a new waitress .she was not great. Food was ok but Waited over an hr to get order. meal orders for group of 4 did not arrive at same time . 2 of the meals that arrived late had to be returned twice. Cold ribs and under cooked chicken . This was over a 3 hr ordeal. And the quality of the food did not meet expections considering the price.

My review is just based off the fact it's labeled a high end restaurant with high prices to match, but nothing in our first experience going made us feel it should classified like that. The food was good, but not $18 for 5 shrimp good. Could just be the hype surrounding it that we just weren't wowed by our visit.

Good food for good money, service is pretty decent. Was in a large party so sevice took a bit longer than usual but was great under the circumstances. A couple of the bills got mixed up, but again, with a party of 26 it wasn't bad. Only reason it doesn't get five stars is because on my way past the kitchen witnessed one of the waitresses pick food of a plate, comment on it, then carried it out to service a table. Im sure this happens at a lot of restauants but it sure not professional.

My steak was amazing. I had the New York and they cooked it perfect. it's a tough sell to go out during COVID-19, especially because, how do you carry a conversation with someone through a mask? So I feel for the staff. how do you give someone a great gratuity just because they served you? When I'm going out and spending this kind of money I'm always going toexpect that a waitress or waiter is going to be conversational and make me laugh. That's where you give your 20% tip.

5 stars because, Hey, it's a 5 star restaurant anyways, right? The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked steak. First come first serve .waited 40 min at the bar for a table . A friend and I went here for a nice night out. I want to start by saying our server was extremely kind and did an amazing job. If I could give her a review she would get 5 stars. The food however is where points are lost. First, our drinks. My friend had a vodka water with cranberry. But there was so much ice in the glass she could barely put any water or cranberry in the drink. So she basically had vodka on the rocks. I had a steak that was so undercooked it could have been alive. I ordered it medium rare, it came blue rare, sent it back to be retired and it came back slightly less blue rare. Sent it back again and it was rare, so I ate it rare. A "Steakhouse" should know how to make steak. Its literally the house of steak. Her chicken was mediocre. We didn't realize the level of spice that was in it and she could barely finish it because there was no heat warning. Otherwise her food was good. The dessert was the highlight of the food. She ordered it, I don't know what it was. Some kind of coffee ice cream cake. Shoutout to Vicki. You were the best part of the Keg tonight.

About a month ago I went in here on a date night with my husband. We were both dressed pretty nicely looking for a romantic evening I think it was pretty obvious. We had reservations of course. The thing that irritated me as they sat us in a room with a cup a couple of families with babies. The babies were crying and smacking their spoons on their plates as babies do which was fine I’m glad they had them in a different room. It would’ve just been nice that they noticed that we were a couple looking for a romantic evening and wanted some Romantic atmosphere. It felt like we were shoved in this room with a family and no one even considered that. I should mention the food was delicious as usual we’ve been to the keg many times and never had issues with food

Not only did they let me, the manager personally went out front untied her and brought her around to the patio himself. I'm not one of those weird dog people but I walked there and my dog is a way too friendly black lab, dog theft is a real thing.

The keg is always very good and never have had a bad experience there. If you have an allergy the general manager or a manager takes the food out which reassures that the food is safe to eat if you have an allergy. The only bad part about the keg is the high costs but in my opinion it is worth the cost.

Attended this Keg for the first time (we are used to the one in Lethbridge). Great atmosphere and a large restaurant. We made our reservation online and were promptly seated as asked (we requested no booths). The food was great - we had two appetizers and two entrees along with a kids meal. Because it was quite busy our waiter forgot a few things. The table bread came out with the meal instead of beforehand and there was no raw veggies for the child's meal. Nonetheless the food was still great.

Well, the service, and Lobster was fantastic. The steak on the other hand not so much. I ordered a Medium Rare NY Sirloin. What I Recieved was a medium well Sirloin. I spoke with the server, and she kindly had my steak made again. The Manager brought me a 2nd steak, and it was blue rare. Upon receiving the steak for the 3rd time, I finally got what I ordered. The Manager and server were both apologetic, and it was not their fault. The kitchen staff need to be retrained on how to cook steak.

Went here in December for staff party, appetizers were good, staff was great. I ordered chicken ceased salad and it came out last in a group of 12 people who ordered steaks... Chicken was over cooked and couldn't finish it. But other than that it was good.

Had a wonderful time at the Keg tonight. Been to many locations before but this was my first time to the Medicine location and it was the best experience I’ve had at a keg. The hostess was wonderful. She got us in right away, accommodated us when my wife suggested somewhere warmer, and was able to keep an awesome genuine conversation and dropped off our food with a smile. She even showed us where the washrooms were and the bar (being it was our first time there) Our server was excellent as well, always on top of refills and clearing plates. Such an outgoing, friendly young girl. Loved seeing how outgoing all the staff was, made for an excellent atmosphere. The food came pretty quickly and was INCREDIBLE. compliments to the chef. Great place. Highly recommend.

My friend and I had Excellent service today. Steph and Josie the manageress were friendly,and very helpful. We were over blown by the hospitality of the staff and their caring personality. Beautiful smiles and happy to serve. Food was the best I ever had. Juicing steak, delicious salads and don't talk about the succulent juicy mouth watering lobster tail. I highly recommend this place. But I have to suggest that it might be worth going over with your employees that after work is finished that they find a more secluded area of the bar to discuss their schedules and their coworkers and their plans for the weekend rather than at the bar, with the bartender, Next to patrons. Just a thought.

Thank the lord I had a giftcard. This place will never see me inside again. The food was nothing special and way too much money. Where in the world do they get their prices from? Also, it was like sitting in a meat cooler. The one star is for the fact that the food was served hot! I am sure the doors will have to close soon; people can't afford to eat out at those ridiculous prices.

Went there for my Dad’s birthday last night. The server (no name, Aussie accent) screwed up our drinks order 3x, then largely ignored us for an hour. She came back an hour later and asked us if we were ready for entrées. When we asked what happened to the three appetizers we ordered it turned out she had forgot to enter them. By now we had no desire to prolong the experience, so we just went with the entrees. My medium rare peppercorn New York was completely raw. By way of amends, they put it back on the grill, but only on one side as of already put the sauce on it. What came back was, in fact, medium rare, but almost burnt in the one side. However, the sauce did not agree with the heat at all and it tasted gross. I mentioned this to the waitress, who offered no amends. Left hungry and frustrated, but much poorer and went to McD’s on the way home, where both the food and service were dramatically better

This Keg stands toe to toe with the Keg restaurants in the larger cities. In fact, this one was a cut above the others being situated in the heart of cattle country where quality Alberta beef is the menu item of choice. Fantastic service and friendly interaction from the waiters and staff to boot. This is my 3rd visit and will be returning again.

My meal Prime Rib was done very well at Med Rare and was tender and tasty as I expected. However we did have problems with the server since our appetizer was forgotten and came after the main meal was delivered. One person with us ordered the Fillet mignon as med rare and it came well done, which on a fillet is hard to do. The manager did come over and apologized and personally worked to make everything right. I will go back since my Prime Rib was very good and worth the cost.

We stopped here on a Sunday evening with a group of 10, no reservations, and were accommodated within minutes. The main dining area was quite full, but we were seated in a private area that suited our group perfectly. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Everyone had prime rib or steak, and it was all done to perfection. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning!

Had a great meal on New Year's Eve . We had prime rib which melted in our mouth. It was a sizable piece of meat. In fact we had to bring some home. Very good Salad and deserts. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only had one Complaint and that is the waitresses with the long hair were always playing and flipping it. We think that this is very unsanitary in the food industry. We will defineatly be returning For more excellent meals.

Excellent servers, excellent steaks and the potatoes are still making my mouth water. Very high prices compared to other Kegs, but they are competing with Boston Pizza next door and Skinny's across the street in an area where there is one Hampton Inn so all guests will go to one of three repeatedly. Unfortunately the manager failed twice to make a good decision on the appetizer coupon from the Hampton Inn. Hampton Inn has a deal with the Keg to provide a free appetizer (with a meal) daily for guests if you asked each day. We had 4 coupons (as we are 4 different families ordering 2 expensive meals per coupon when only 1 needed) and we all stayed obviously in separate rooms . When the server on first visit was presented with the coupons (we were explicitly told that yes, that meant 4 appetizers free) she came back at billing time and said her manager refused and would only honour 2 free appetizers...but they also wouldn't give back the extra 2 coupons that were handed over at the beginning of the meal...hmmmm. Second time we went there we again told the server we had 4 coupons and were (as always) paying our separate bills as separate families dining. Manager again said 2 only because our group was so large...I asked for the unused coupons back this time and the server replied "that was smart"...something odd with the Keg manager there.

We had dinner here recently. We were able to walk to the Keg from the hotel. I had a half order of back ribs and my partner ordered the 10 oz prime rib. Lots of food and very tasty. Nice service as well. I had the prime rib which was absolutely delicious. A BIG thank you to the Keg staff for making our dining experience special.

Delivers on the excellent and consistent high level of service that i generally always have at Keg locations everywhere. This location is right next to a Hampton Inn which is a big plus and if you are coming from out of town it is a good combination.

Terrible food and terrible service. The cheese bread appy was too salty, my ribs were not cooked well, and the waitress was CLEARLY more interested in my husbands meal and meeting his needs than mine. Completely unprofessional. She excitedly asked him how his meal was, making eye contact and all that, while apparently "forgetting" to ask how my meal was, and it was my meal that had to be sent back. Then the manager came out to tell me I was wrong to think the ribs weren't cooked properly, I have no idea what his role in that whole thing was, he was useless and did not offer anything to make up for my terrible experience. We will never go back!

Our server Emily was good but the food was terrible. No butter for the lobster, steak was tough and hard to chew. It was busy and we were put way back in a back room which wasn't so bad at the end of the day for conversation purposes. The meal will make it so we won't be back for quite some time

We love this place. Never been disappointed. Steaks, lobster, crab, it's always been great, and if not, they've been happy to make it right. We like that there are several intimate areas with maybe 4-6 tables, so it feels more cozy and private than being seated in the middle of a warehouse, where everyone is staring at each other.

Went for supper Saturday night for our first wedding anniversary, with our best friends. Service was horrible.... asked for more coffee and the waiter actually said it would be a bit as he was going on a break..Only checked once to see if we needed anything, dropped a bun on the floor while clearing plates,didn't bother to pick it up. Was very disappointed with the service. Food was great as usual. $300 plus bill and never left a tip. Horrible customer service.

AMAZING! Great food best in medicine hat. We didnt make a reservation and it was busy, but we were still seated within 5 minutes and comfortably socializing at our table, But what really impressed me is, how GREAT the service was. It was really busy when we went. But Shae stood up to the task, not only in timing our apitizers perfectly but recomending a good wine steak and dessert! If I could I would give The Keg Steakhouse in Medicine Hat negative stars. I never complain so it takes alot for me to take time outta my day to write this bad review. First of all my husband and I went for dinner on a thursday night at 8 o'clock it was fairly slow but we still waited 2 hours for our meal. In that time I only saw our server when she took our order and dropped off our food. The keg does not have gravy and the pepercorn sauce for my husband's steak, lets just say ive seen Campbell's mushroom soup look and taste more appetizing. Also his steak was ordered as medium but arrived cooked all the way threw, my meal did not come with the proper side of brussel sprouts like the menu stated. Because our dinner was a 2 and half hour event I also had to apologize to my babysitter for wasting her time as well. Next time I'll just put my money to better use and throw my $100 in a dumpster. Thanks alot for wrecking my birthday dinner The keg and its under qualified staff.

Had my 1st year anniversary dinner at The Keg last weekend. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and clean. Had ordered the Bacon Wrapped Scallops for a starter. And had the striploin steak and mashed potatoes with sauteed mushrooms. Also order the Surf and Turf with rice for my wife. With the meals comes complimentary Sour dough bread with butter. The service was very good same with the meal. The two things that make me give a 4 and not a 5 is the lighting at the table flickered. And when I had went to use the men's washroom there was no soap in either dispenser. I mentioned it to lady's that were working out by the main door and all they did was said thanks for letting us know? I was like wow really well during a pandemic and no soap? Might be back but very doubtful.

Service was great, the only negative i could mention is that although i went with their guide as to how to get my steak cooked, it was overdone.
