Always delicious- have been eating here for years and always am impressed with how fresh and perfect everything is. I've eaten lots off the menu at this point and highly recommend any of the fish and chips- incredible crispy batter with perfect "shatter". The JUMBO prawns- breaded are delicious and sweet and massive. Sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Salads are always ice cold and crispy. A great affordable gem..best fish and chips in the city by a lot.

Ahoy! Talk about a charming little place to enjoy some great seafood. The decore is kitschy maybe even over the top, but it works here. A stuffy place this is not. The staff was delightful, to the point thatvyoibalmost want them to have a seat and join you for awhile. The food was great quality, prepared well and quick to the table. I haven't enjoyed fish and chips this much in a long time.

Stopped in for lunch with my parents. Great atmosphere with a classic sea food restaurant decor. Staff are very friendly and quick at service. Food came out of the kitchen fairly quickly. The restaurant is divided in two. The other side has a bar with vlts, as well as an other seating/small banquet area. The banquet are was full with a large party at the time. I ordered the two piece cod lunch special. Good portion size for the price. The Captain's table has pretty decent fish and chips. The tartare sauce is home made, which is great, but tastes a little to much like mayonnaise. I would definitely come back again. Great experience.

Cute little restaurant. I ordered takeout from here a few nights ago and everything was great; the employee was sweet, they have curbside pickup with a camera so they can see when you arrive (they bring the debit machine and food out to your car), food was tasty. Food: everything stayed crispy (we ordered fish and chips), they provide large sauce portions which is great because I love tartar sauce, and the price is reasonable. Service: the employee was really nice and friendly! When I used to go for dine-in (pre-covid), the servers were always attentive, food was brought out quickly, and the restaurant is homey inside. Overall, really enjoy the captain's table!

We had the haddock, and it was delicious. Place could use an update, but overall it was good. Shoestring fries with dinner, and the onion rings were good. The seafood chowder had more potato then anything, but still tasted good. The waitress was great, wish I got her name.

Buddy and I show up on a regular basis for the fish chowder. It was terrible ! It was watery warm soup with very little substance .not a chowder …very disappointed and when we brought it up to the waitress, no response except oh…. Added all the crackers to thicken it up .Did not help. Won’t be back …..

The very friendly and dedicated waitress fladhed her dimpled smile at us and fixed the problem of seating our group together by moving a bench and table for us. She answered every question that came up with great knowledge and patience. It is a great pleasure to come across somebody so dedicated to their job and the customers. The food was absolutely wonderful and a good value for the price as well. Highly recommend a visit and would love to come back.

If you love fish and seafood, this a great place to enjoy it. The restaurant is open for dining at lunch through dinner. The menu offers a Captain's combo which includes 1 pcx cod, 1 pcx haddock, 4 deep-fried shrimp + 4 sauteed shrimp, coleslaw and fries which is a vg value at $19.00. Also offered are 1, 2, or 3 pcx cod, haddock or halibut fish dinners, priced according to # of pcx, along with sandwiches, platters and desserts. Service is good and parking available behind the restaurant. Covid procedures are being followed incl limited seating for dine-in.

Had the Captains Combo and it was good. The fish was cooked perfectly and definitely the highlight. Shrimp and prawns slightly overcooked but still very good. I had fries as a side and she had the onion rings, both good but nothing too special. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food on your plate. We will return.

Service was pretty slow for a relatively empty plate, 20 minutes in the restaurant before we even had water. Once the food finally arrived it was wonderful. Captains plate combo. Portions were very generous. Tartar sauce didn't have to be asked for and was great. Themed decor suited the place.

This is a great local bar with a wide arrangement of entertainment, food and drinks, all at ok prices. The food was good, hosts were attentive and very good, all with a bar and pool tables for some fun! Great place to check out, both as a long stop, or simply a drink before heading to the airport

A great local restaurant with outstanding service! We ordered takeout, and after we got home we noticed there was a minor error with our order. When I called to let them know, they literally had someone deliver the item we didn't receive to our house. The food at this restaurant is also top notch, and their sticky toffee pudding is hands-down the best dessert I have had at any restaurant. Will be coming back again and again!

Fantastic dinner with dad! We both followed the recommendation of the waitress: dinner special. The dinner special came with the restaurant's signature chowder (must have), a piece of halibut fish (cod also available), coleslaw, breaded shrimp (homemade style), and fries. Fantastic meal! Will visit again!

Ordered 2 - 2 piece fish and chips for take out. Fish was good and fairly large portion compared to others. Chips were a complete disaster - served in a bag and saturated with grease. Price was middle of the road. Probably will consider others before this place.

We decided to go around Winnipeg restaurants to try out fish and chips. Tonight we ate at Captain’s Table. It was awesome. Nice and clean. Great food. Nice hot cup of tea. So far the best. The service was great. Good parking at the back of building. We went at 5pm. By 6pm it was very busy. We will go back for sure.

We have been ordering takeout every Sunday to support our local restaurants and had the best takeout from Captains Table. The food was hot and delicious and highly recommend this restaurant. We had Chicken fingers and the captain's combo plate. Also the soup especially beef barley is very good.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience here... The staff were friendly... the food was good, especially the fries. The haddock was decent in size, texture and flavor. Coleslaw was very good. The only knock I would have against Captain's Table is that although the pricing for appetizers and entrées are comparable to most fish and chip places, it's the cost for those little extras that can add up such as $2 for a gravy or $2 for a can drink. The mark up from a wholesale price for these little extras is in my estimation is quite high... That being said, I would probably go back again minus ordering the gravy or a canned drink...

Phenomenal every single time! I have been probably 10 times now over the past year or two and it has always been outstanding. It is mainly billed as a fish and chips joint and they do it right with freshly cut, perfectly done fries and excellent cuts of haddock, cod and halibut battered and seasoned well, that stay crispy without being greasy. The portions are extremely fair and you will not leave hungry. When they say "jumbo shrimp" they mean it (take note lackluster Red Lobster). A typical dinner special will be $18.95 for a healthy piece of battered cod, 6 jumbo shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and a starter salad or soup. On the topic of soups, do not leave this place without trying the SEAFOOD CHOWDER, it is worth the trip alone, and the soups of the day will not disappoint either. Finally, I have never gone wrong dancing around the rest of the menu either. The burger for my money is one of the best west of St. James Street, the reuben is fantastic for lunch, and this place is on the shortlist for poutines during La Poutine Week. Service here has always also been 5 star on every trip, seafaring decor and you can learn something from the different mariner knots exemplified on the walls. Try this place, it will not steer you wrong.

This is one of the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten in my life, I bought two orders today for to go...when I opened it it’s all mild, smell, and the fish is outdated. We couldn’t even eat it and I ended up eating PB&J sandwich. If I were to be at the restaurant I would have rejected the food and asked for a refund. Please don’t go there????????

You know what to expect when you go to a place like the Captain's table. You get large portion sizes and friendly service. Order their carrot cake afterwards because apparently it is very good. My guest had the dinner platter which is pretty huge. That was too much for me so I stuck with a two piece halibut meal with fries and slaw. Their seafood chowder is excellent. This place is one of the best spots for fish & chips in Winnipeg.

He had just passed away recently and I was so happy to learn they were offering curbside pickup/delivery which went amazingly smooth and the food was hot and packaged beautifully. Been back several times, same great result with a little twist. People lamented when legendary restaurants Wagon Wheel and Kelekis closed. Good news, if you're looking for a club sandwich equal to the challenge all be it with chicken instead of turkey, look no further this is the place! The same goes for the shoe string fries Kelekis was famous for. They showed up here! Probably been here all along. Soups are great as well!
