We walked in at 6.50pm on a Saturday with no reservation, I understand that's risky. We were told that for 4 of us there was a table but we would have to vacate it by 8.15, which was fine because we were hungry and would be quick. Plus it's pizza and pasta, so that won't take long to cook. All good. We ordered at 7pm, our starters came about 5 minutes later. Then we waited. At 7.30 we started doing the "going to the washroom to conjure the food" All 4 of us tried that. At 7.48 one of our party asked the waitress if our food would be out soon. She replied with a cheery, "just 2 or 3 minutes" At 8.15, after avoiding eye contact for a long time asked us if we'd had our food yet. At 8.33 our food came. We were hangry by this point so the soggy pizza, luke warm linguine, cold, meat-free (not vegetarian, merely lacking a main ingredient) and pasta-heavy lasagne were finished very quickly, the oily orecchiette was half eaten before the oil became too much. At no point did the waitress apologise or give us a reason (even a made up one if she forgot to put our order in to the kitchen would have meant something) for the enormous delay. None of the starters (a disappointing caprese salad and a massive eggplant lasagne type thing) were offered for free as compensation, not even the one glass of wine drunk by the party was knocked off the bill. We were never going to be going back there anyway but in terms of my parent's last night in Canada on their first visit it was a massive disappointment. Just a bit of politeness would have made a huge difference, we were not the only people waiting for our food, but we were waiting for a lot longer than everyone around us. Avoid. Go to one of the other restaurants on the same street.

Good pasta, wine decently priced, excellent service. We missed a bit of creativity for dessert.

What a lovely spot in Magog! Great selection, delicious food (we had veal pasta and pizza), AMAZING service- our server Frederik was so kind, had great suggestions and was very attentive to our evening. The prices were also very reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

Frédérick Doucet

Nice place to go with friends, eat pizza, drink wine and have a great soiree.

Pizza is good. Calamari was ok but was clearly frozen. Service is horrible . Good luck asking for anything . I asked for spicy oil, had to flag down two different waiters to get it, and the cherry on top : a fly came out from the oil. The waitress then has the audacity to tell me it’s cause the doors are open and it’s to be expected . FLY WAS IN THE “spicy oil”.

Micheline Freyssonet

Excellent pizza, warm and friendly service. Very clean and well adapted to COVID-19.

Alice Pomerleau-Lacasse

The food don't match the beautiful restaurant and the great service. It was okay and a bit overpriced.

Spaghetti bologneise was fantastic for lunch. Plenty for two. Get the focassia bread.

Gordon O'Brien

Definitely a bit pricey, but I think the higher quality pasta and ingredients justify the higher price point. Ordered take out from the maitre d' at the door. He was very friendly and expedited my order of lasagne and famy size linguine pescatare. The lasagne was definitely on the smallish size, but tasted great with plenty of meat and cheese. The linguine definitely exceeded expectations for take-out. Even after 20 minutes in the box, the pasta was still al dente, the seafood perfectly cooked (e.g. not overxooked), and the sauce flavourful and punchy with just the right amount of chilis. Overall, definitely pricey, but worth it for a visitor to the area.

We love this restaurant! The ambiance is nice it's bright and not loud. We love the food and feel very safe during the pandemic as they have glass panels between the tables.

One of the nice spots to enjoy a good meal in Magog....

Personal are so rude! Not worth to try this restaurant!

From the decore to the food it's all the small details that makes this restaraunt stand out from the others our Waiter Charles is awesome and tells the story of the restaurant very well!!!!! Great job found my new favorite restaraunt

The best pizza and italian food in town

Angela Alvarado

Place is beautiful and looks very fancy . Since the beginning staff was very rude and very unprofessional. We had some cocktails they were ok, but definitely not the greatest. Food was very average. The style of the place does not match the food at all, and the style of the place does not match their staff either . The pizza dough was well made so good points for that. For the rest the lasagna seemed like it was just heat up on the microwave, I had an stomach ache after eating here. Also the staff seems like they don’t want to be there, they just go to talk to each other and roll their eyes when they go to the tables super unprofessional . I feel is like a trap for tourist, the place looks beautiful and delicious from outside, but not worth it at all .

Afsaneh Salehian

We were not in love with our food....wished they could have offered bread while waiting for dinner to arrive.

Maggie Gruber

Really bad pizza. I ordered Margarita with pepperoni and Mushrooms and they put sausages on my pizza. Overall the pizza had a strange taste so I didn't finish it. Tiramisu is also not great.

We had dinner on a Tuesday night in the summer, arriving at 20:30 (8:30 PM) and were seated immediately inside where it was cold and noisy. Our waitress seamed to want us to order quickly, so we did and then waited about 15 minutes for our salads (no bread was served). We both had the Caprese salad which was short on salt and balsamic vinegar (it was pretty tasteless). We asked for more balsamic and a small container of liquid balsamic was delivered - not the reduction. I finished my salad first and the waitress took my plate despite my wife not having finished hers - which for a fine dining restaurant was odd. And then we waited 30 minutes for our mains during which time the waitress poured out the last of our sparkling water and left the empty bottle on the table. A server arrived and placed a pasta dish in front of my wife and the Linguine Pescatore in front of me - which was interesting because that isn't what I ordered and my wife's dish was lacking the sausage and rapini she ordered. After taking my meal away the waitress came back and explained that they had a mix up and replaced the meals with the ones we ordered. No apology for either the delay or mixup, just a look of disgust as she realized my wife had picked at her meal (looking for the sausage and rapini). The food itself was very good but the service was very poor. I would recommend this place only if it is empty and you are warmly dressed if you are seated inside.

G Legault-Pangborn

Surprisingly good. And the 5$ focaccia suggested by the waitress was well worth it's value. Would recommend trying out!

Delicious authentic Italian meals. Really impressed

Had the most enjoyable and delicious lunch . Staff were wonderful as well. We had squid salad, mussels, and mushroom pizza.

SUSAN DOWLING

Fantastic place as far as interior design of the resto but that’s about it....food = 0, service = BIG 0!

Josh Silver

Excellent food, excellent service, reasonable price. Great atmosphere, highly recommend

The food is good and the service adequate. You can take the plate in regular format or family (read for 2, not 4). They serve a variety of pasta, pizza and veal. Everything is good. Note they do not have bread in entry. They offer a focaccia for $5. It can be quite busy during the summer season, so it is suggested to reserve. You can use OpenTable to so online.

Nic Côté

Both my friends suggested we eat here as it offers one of best choices in Magog. I thoroughly enjoyed every dish, the octopus and Caesar salad, meatballs, the sausage rapini and pizza. The wine is moderate and they were out of many choices. The service was spot on, fun and funny.

Holy Toutant

I visited Alessa Trattoria with my parents on a Saturday night and it was such an amazing experience! First off, the decor is beautiful, down to the smallest details! We ordered four plates to share - we love the concept of having family-sized plates (such as a big salad). The staff was very friendly, the ambiance was fantastic, and the food was delicious. By far, the greatest pizza place I’ve visited (and I’m an avid wood-oven pizza fan). Thank you for such an amazing evening, you will see me very soon!

Sam Attia

Very nice Restaurant, great pizza

Joanna Kyritsis

Marcel Abran

Nabila Oubouchou

great service, food is good, glass of water never empty! pricing is reasonable, peaceful vibe

Marco De Francesco

Excellent food and service. Great portion to price ratio (you get a lot for the price) best to make a reservation as they fill up very quickly.

Jean-Philippe Cyr

Authentic Italian front south of Italy. Loved the taste. The tomato sauce is on point. Highly recommend the malanzane parmigiana for appys. Recommend the restaurant to do better on the mozerella/burata cheese used on the Margherita. But overall could not complain. It was really good.

Lili Vera

We found this place on a Saturday lunchtime and it was perfect. Great service, good food.

We made a reservation for 5:30pm. When we walked into the restaurant and gave our name, the hostess right away told us that they “double booked” and that we would need to be out by 7pm. This put us back as we came to celebrate a birthday (which was mentioned in our open table reservation) and did not want to be rushed through our meal. For appetizers, we ordered family sized caesar salad, caprese salad and fried calamari. The caesar salad was just ok (croutons dry w/ no flavour, overly salty prosciutto instead of bacon) whilst the calamari and caprese salad were slightly better. For the main course, we ordered a pizza (which was soggy), the seafood pasta in white wine sauce (whereas the sauce was non-existence and the pasta was undercooked) and 2 orders of the funghi veal (the veal was good but again the pasta was undercooked). When we were finished our main course around 6:50pm, the same hostess who told us we needed to be out by 7:00pm returned to take our plates. It appeared to be a tactic to rush us out. We also told her our issues with the food (undercooked pasta) and she offered no sort of resolution. When our actual waitress returned she had a bill in her hand but we had not yet requested it nor were we asked for coffee or dessert. I expected to order a dessert for my father to celebrate his birthday. At this point it truly felt like they wanted us out, which clearly puts a sour taste in your mouth when you 1) reserved this time and 2) paid over $200 for your meal. Long story short, lacklustre food and terrible customer service.

Gareth Morgan

Well located in the heart of Magog...food is tasty and portions are sizable unless you opt for the pizza and you are in for a disappointment that comes in a round form with no less than 2 inches around the outside of bare cooked dough and literally a (small) handfull of ingredients in the middle... Prompted by my protest a waitress was kind enough to educate me that this is a "neapolitano" type pizza and she confirmed that the person serving me should have warned me beforehand... Right beside me, a guy that also ordered pizza had that look on his face of contemplating wrong life choices

Decor, covid precautions, and staff all great. Sauce and flavor of veal, was very good, but the Veal itself had no flavor and was tough.

Christine Coakley

Good food, good service, reasonable prices, very clean! I definitely recommend this place.

Andre Du Bois

Very rude personnel. Horrible experience. As soon soon the waitress (the woman with blue/green tatu) found out that we were immigrants talked in a very rude manner with us. We were all vaccinated and had the proof and an ID card with us, but she lied that the barcode for my 80 year old father was not working. We went to another restaurant and the barcode worked perfectly. Very racist restaurant.

Our service was not good at all after being told they could just fit our party of four in , but they needed our table back in 1hour 15 mins we said fine as we had a 2hour ride home after eating, we chose quickly what we wanted 30 mins brought us our starters, then another 1hour we asked about our mains we were told a couple of mins. After another half an hour the waitress asked us if we had had our meals. We said no so after another while we had given up looking at the time by then we finally got our meals well we got a Luke warm dish a pasta dish swimming with oil and a slightly dried up piece of chicken with some pasta. The brighter ones of you will notice I said there were four of us the final dish a pizza came to us a while after still With uncooked dough in the centre. We did complain to the waitress but the manager never came to us . Needless to say we will never go back .

Aaron Mendez

Great menu selection. Very kind and pleasant service. Restaurant organized very well in line with covid cautions . And the food was delicious

The food was good, but portions were very small for the price and everything is sold separately. I was disapointed.

this is not my first time service not impressed food ordinary will not likely return

Stopped by for lunch on a Monday and was very impressed. First of all the cleanliness and measures in place for Covid were exemplary. Second, the service and the food were first rate. I had the linguine pescatore, my wife the Orechiette. While both were delicious, it was the quality of the pasta that I found remarkable. Possibly the best I have ever had. Their Foccacia was great and they serve an impressive looking pizza. Definitely worth a visit.

Minh Nguyen

We were very dispointed with the pastas at Alessa Trattoria. Most of them tasted very sharp and salty, especially the tomato sauce. The pizza was however was well done with a very delicious dough. Service was so so and not very responsive.

David Dube

Unfriendly and rude staff. Don’t waste your money and time.

Antonio Tempestilli

Our first time in Magog and our experience at Alessa was great! The place itself is so clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the service was very friendly and quick! We tried to pastas this time but would love to come back to try their pizza!

GRACE MCINTOSH

Agree with another review that says this restaurant feels like a tourist trap. Place looks high class but food is average (way too salty) and restaurant seems to be run by children who know nothing of professionalism or service. Will never eat there again.

Davide

Best Italian Neapolitan style pizza!! I've been to Italy and eatten pizza in Naples and let me tell you the person making the pizza at this place knows how to make them. The waitress.. I wish I remembered her name, was also top notch. Nice atmosphere I will definitely return when in town.

Ed

It is definitely a best Italian restaurant in Magog. The pizza and pasta dishes are super delicious and tasty!
