DESCRIPTION

We have all the information of people who know the services and products of The Dockside (Restaurant) in Lunenburg (Canada).

To this day the firm gets a score of 3.9 over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.

You must have seen that the average of ratings that it reaches is very good, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the rating is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they are happy with the service, it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to place reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

We stopped in here for lunch during our three day stay in Lunenburg, NS on a cool rainy day, last May. Having walked all and with our tummies growling, Doris had 2 glasses of Jost Tiday Bay Wine while I drank two (yes 2) 20 oz Moosehead Drafts! Doris savored her order of Lunenburg Scallops and I had their delicious Haddock Dinner. Since we just wanted to chill when we got back to the Mariner King Inn, we also ordered to go a Chicken Salad Sandwich and a Lobster Salad Sandwiches. Our server, Dallas, was attentive, courteous and friendly. Our total bill came to $ 145 CAD ($ 107 USD) . Not bad all at for all the drinks and 2 dinners. Had a nice bowl of seafood chowder with a roll on a cold spring day made my afternoon! The broth is very light and with generous ingredients, not too many potatoes in the chowder, which I like. Loved the paintings on the wall. The service was slow, but friendly.

Food was below average. I had dry haddock carrots with a woody center. It was very disappointing as we came to Lunenburg thinking the seafood would be good. Very nice view, friendly service. Menu is fairly non descript in explaining what vegetables and other side dishes come with the meal.

After looking around the general area we decided to go to the Dockside for supper. This was the biggest mistake of the evening, we ordered the lobster, scallops, a salmon burger, fried prawns and fish & chips. The lobster was over cooked and had an elastic like texture, the salmon burger patty was from a frozen package this was confirmed by the server, the shrimps were tough (may have also come from a frozen package) the scallops was the only item that was fresh. I felt that the management needs to put in more effort to ensure that the food is fresh and simple items like a salmon burger patty are made inhouse. I will suggest that you ask about the specials for the day and confirm if the dish is made with fresh ingredients e.g. shrimps, lobster, halibut etc.

Outstanding location!

Went here because it had empty seating and the patio overlooked the water. It was not great. The food quality was similar to going to a fast food joint, but the prices were fairly high for what you get. The waitresses acted as if they were inconvenienced. The saving grace was the patio seating.

Rooms have AMAZING views cannot imagine getting better...location is close walking distance to all shops and restaurants. but I found the room to be slightly dated and Mattress is much harder than I like. Rooms were very clean and pillows were nice and fluffy. Staff is really friendly. Would have given 5 stars if matress was more comfortable...my husband loved it...me not as much. Good in the restaurant was REALLY REALLY good. Also portions were huge. I recommend this location and will visit again.

Best fish and chips I've had. The batter in thin and the fish tastes fresh!

I hate to have to do this but I need to warn you all. Worst meals my wife and I had during our stay in NS.....actually worst meals we’ve have ever at a restaurant. A few other places we wanted to go were closed so we decided to give this place a shot. ????????‍♂️I don’t think they even have salt and pepper in the kitchen. The owner/chef should be ashamed. The view is awesome but most restaurants here have a great view. Stay away, trust me.

Waitress was really nice. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Bacon was not cooked enough, coffee was watered down was disgusting could hardly drink it. Ended up going up the street to another coffee shop down the road to get a real coffee. Definitly won't be back.
