The place is very conveniently located near the waterfront, and has good positive vibes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all the requests, even when they were very busy. Their grilled salmon made me very very happy. I can't recall the name of the appetizer, I had, but it was chips with Spinach and crab dip, suggested by the staff, and I really enjoyed it so much I am definitely coming back the next time I visit Lunenburg!
Delicious food!! Would highly recommend. We had 4 altogether and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food came in a timely manner, and there is a good variety of options for food and drinks. I had the Salmon for lunch with a local riesling, and Pavlov for dessert.
This is a busy bar & restaurant, it took awhile to get seating and to get served food as well. The interior aesthetics is very nautical. They also had plexiglass dividers between tables which was nice. The seafood linguine was packed with seafood, and the tomato soup was actually beyond expectations. Flavour wise the linguine wasn't up to my standards, the lemony flavour was far too strong with too many capers. As a tea lover, what impressed me the most was that they served looseleaf tea - really appreciated that especially on a gloomy rainy day :)
My daughter and I had the 2 pce fish and chips, husband had the fish cakes and beans .. we all loved our lunch. My daughter and I ended up taking our second piece of fish home as it was alot to eat. Best tartar sauce we've ever had .. waitress said it's made in the restaurant. Delicious! Will definitely be back.
Delicious fresh seafood, very reasonable prices. We especially enjoyed seafood chowder and lobster roll, good chunks of lobster in it. Drove all the way from Toronto, totally worth it ????
Had dinner here last night. The service was friendly and fast. I had the squash apple soup and it was very good with a hit of spice. The pretzel was amazing and came with three different dipping sauces - chocolate was my favourite. Would def visit again. Great view of the ocean as well.
This place is a new favorite, the Lunenburger is a must-try
Excellent service and friendly staff - kudos to Selena. Good collection of local beers. Calamari was fresh and crispy. Kids pc of fish fry is big. Lobster poutine is ok, can Skip it. Seafood chowder, Cajun seafood soup were absolute brilliant. Definitely coming here next time in Lunenburg.
Great food by the water. We didn't have a view but the beer selection and seafood we ordered were very delicious. We got a flight of beers. 7x5 oz local brews. We also got the 4 seafood dish with salmon, halibut, scallops, shrimp with lemon …
Very nice establishment, with an inclined accessible ramp to get to their door. Not sure how accessible their door and floor space would be; they have a mix of booths and tables available. The food was delicious, having seen the steak sandwich, the fish tacos, and the mussels. There's a warm pretzel with nutella-sriracha dip that is akin to having a Mexican hot chocolate. The bathrooms were nice and have those awesome foot handles to open doors. The staff were nice too.
Their reputation is absolutely warranted as the top restaurant in Lunenburg. Started with the mussels in white wine sauce, which were tangy and delicious. Had some white wine and rotating craft beers from their wide selection. For entrees, we had the pan fried haddock, the lunenburger, lobster roll and the lamb rack. I am not exaggerating when I say that the lamb was the best I have ever had in a restaurant, the balsamic reduction sauce and garlic mashed potatoes blew my mind! Well done
I felt a little expensive but the food is great. We ordered 2 kinds of beer & both are amazing. Staff was very Friendly & Polite. Will definitely visit again!
Small place but quality very delicious food and awesome service. Don't be afraid to ask the chef for a favor as they are always willing to accommodate here. Can't wait for our next trip.
A great little restaurant, The balcony is the best seat in the house ,if you’re there get. You can watch all the boats go by and the people go bye, Horse and buggy I had the Digby clams, they were very very very tasty, we also had The scallops which were cooked to perfection, The only problem is that the french fries are frozen with the batter on them :( But the staff was very friendly and answered our questions a good little spot.. You may even sometimes see the blue nose schooner, and only minutes away from the museum of the Atlantic, If you like this post give me a thumbs up
Ordered some Coke, chicken wings and nachos, great place to rest after walk around the town.
This experience started out a little rough with some confusion and our food order not being taken, but our second waitress stepped up and provided terrific service. Emily turned what could have been a disappointing visit to a memorable one with charm and very fast service. My seafood quartet (scallops, shrimp, pan fried haddock, salmon, mashed potatoes and vegetables) we all well cooked and seasoned and my wife was very pleased with her fish and chips.
A very classic diner by the sea vibe perfect for casual outings or dates under the sun. The service here was top notch! We got a table way off in a corner and never felt forgotten about. Prices are fair for the portions you get between 13-20 on average per entre but well worth it! What really pushed this place into 5 star territory is its location. Situated right across from a FREE parking lot and with outdoor seating available overlooking the beautiful ocean, this place is definitely a must go on your next visit to this beautiful little town.
Flavour wise; the Lobster Roll did not meet my expectations. The bread was dry, did not look so much appetizing. The ambiance; great decor, busy place, I got lucky they were able to take us right away. I was seated in a booth right in front of the bathrooms, which was not so great.. people came out of the bathrooms and I felt watched.
The food and service was amazing. I ordered the Vegetarian burger with side of house fries. The house fries were just amazing but the burger was So-So! The Patty tasted a little old and very Bland. Overall the service was amazing. They had some great local beers on tap as well.
Strongly recommend the Cajun seafood stew!! The best dish I had in Lunenburg by far! If you like spicy food, this is the one for you, it’s not too hot that’s unbearable, but it’s hot enough to keep you eating. I couldn’t stop even when I’m full because I don’t want to waste any.
Very fresh, tasty sea food. Prices are very reasonable. Staff were friendly. They also have a large selection of various alcoholic drink (small bar area in the restaurant) Located along the water front with wonderful views of the harbour and surrounding area. A large parking paid parking lot is right across the street (street side parking is nearly impossible to find during tourist season)
Great location for a restaurant. Prices were slightly on the pricier side. Portions however were very generous. The food and atmosphere was perfect. Would recommend. Pictured is the Acadian seafood stew and the Lunenburger.
Had eaten there many times. Ate there Friday August 6/21 and were disappointed. Coffee was terrible. I had the fishcakes. Had to pay extra for beans ( which I didn't used to pay Lunck for the two of us was $55 and was not worth it. Won't be back
I had their weekend brunch; it was just ok, nothing spectacular for their brunch. I had dinner here before, and the chowder, risotto, desserts were all amazing. That’s why I decided to come here for brunch. The bacons were fatty rather than crispy and thick. The coffee was laughing whale coffee; came with an individual French pressing coffee maker. The best part is the service and view. It’s always busy in here.
Had an awesome lunch at the Grand Banker. It is small, busy place so expect a bit of a wait. The chowder was delicious and the $25 Lunenburger was something special! My wife had the lobster poutine and it was also amazing.
Great view, good food and friendly staffs.
Busy. Excellent cuisine. Food servings large with scallops done to a turn. The striploin very tasty.. the veggies were cooked perfect with a slight crunch. Great Presentation of meals . Staff are polite. Decor fit the ocean view setting. Make your reservation. Get ready for a great meal. Cost $40/person incl. One drink.
We enjoyed really good quality food. The Taste of Nova Scotia with the corresponding flight of wines was a true delight! What really bothered us was the loud noise of a machine that could not be turned off (as per info of the staff) and …
We looked around at a few places in Lunenburg for lunch and settled on the Grand Banker due to cost and location (with a nice view of the harbour). The food was really good and the portions quite large. Staff was really friendly and helpful as well. There were a lot of good options on the menu.
Amazing views with great food. Updated June 25, 2019 …
Although busy... This grilled cheese was well worth the wait!! Best grilled cheese I've ever had!! Becky, our server was wonderful and kept us happy!! Yum!! We'll be back!!
The Lunenburg Burger was the best burger I ever eat.
While the food was pretty good here and the waitress was nice, the food took FOREVER to come out. I had the seafood quartet (two bites missing in the photo), and it was just alright. We were a table of six plus a baby, and it was frustrating that the food took so long without any explanation (waitress didn’t come by and say it was coming soon, or ask if we wanted more drinks). I was excited to come here because of all the positive reviews, but I don’t think I’d recommend it based on the wait alone. Two people in our party had the fish cakes and they were cold when they got to the table. To be fair, we did not give the waitress the chance to fix this because we had already waited so long. Will definitely try somewhere else next time.
I found Jess our server's honesty refreshing. I asked if the salmin was wild or farmed. She told me farmed. Had the spinach dip instead, was also tasty. I recommend you eat here
Stopped by for lunch and was very impressed with my experience. The restaurant was at capacity but followed every covid protocol and was very clean. It wasn’t noisy, despite being busy, and the ambiance was very nice. I ordered the seafood stew and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was generous and it was loaded with seafood. The menu had lots of variety and the server was warm and offered personal suggestions. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
Really enjoyed our two visits so far. Very friendly staff, excellent menu options especially during lobster crawl. I’m sure we’ll be back.
Bar scallops, canned shrimp, no lobster in the chowder paste with a little milk. Hope the mussels are better
Absolutely incredible meal! Had the Seafood Scampi because I wanted to try mussels for the first time. The scampi had a really nice size portion of shrimp, scallops, mussels and fish. …
It was probably the saddest seafood linguine I’ve ever had. I’m not sure there is a place for that much capers in the lemon better sauce which was watery to start with. All the seafood were bland & the fish was fishy. We also had the mussels. The portion was generous but the mussels were bland with little broth to dip them in. A nice waterfront spot but we were not impressed with the quality of the food.
Good location but we were not impressed with the quality of the seafood. We had the haddock, the scallops and Cajun chowder
Highly recommend this place! I think the Cajun Acadian Seafood Stew was one of the best meals I've had and the waiters are friendly and helpful.
I was waiting for my guest and they let me wait for about 40mins…super friendly staff ????????
While visiting the maritimes on our annual summer rv excursion, we have stopped and tried many reputable restaurants that serve quality seafood chowder and authentic seafood dishes. This place is one of the best seafood restaurants we have experienced to date at very reasonable prices. A must try is their Cajun Seafood Stew...amazing!
The food and serve was awesome! I would recommend to anyone. Great spot!!
Came here after searching the menu online while looking for somewhere to eat in Lunenburg. The restaurant entrance is towards the Harbour rather than the upper street. …
Great food. Fish and Chips were awesome. The fries were freshly cut!. We'll come visit again!
Absolutely fabulous. Cajun seafood stew was superb and reasonably priced. Follow that up with a server that made the evening even better. Great food great service at a reasonable price, why would you look anywhere else.
Best meal I have had out since the Pandemic eased. Food was prepared by a staff that absolutely cares about what they serve. Had a meal in Halifax the night before for twice the price, but half as good.
I’m not a huge seafood fan but being in Nova Scotia I had to try the lobster. I must say, it was delicious. The meat was sweet and tender. The price was steep though $42. The seafood chowder was light and fresh, not overly rich, abundance of fish, scallops etc. One of the best chowders I’ve had. Fish and chips was a bit greasy but the crust was good, fish tasted fresh and flakey.
The reason why I’m giving this place 5* is simply because everything was on point. We ordered 7 items and they were all good. Service was fast and staff very nice. If you are in Lunenberg I highly recommend this place.
