Takeout order. The vegetable chow mein was watery, too much celery and bok choy. Very bland. The deep fried wontons with sweet and sour sauce were amazing! As a vegetarian choices were severely limited so not a great choice for me but, everyone else seems to enjoy the other menu options.

Only open for take out currently. Their combos are reasonably priced and delicious. Combo #1 only $7.99 and was hot and fresh when I picked it up. It’s been hard to find decent quality Chinese food lately. Everything in the combo had flavour!

An evening meal for two turned out to be a disaster. It began with the red wine being off. The chow mien was tasteless as was the fried rice. The sweat and sour scallops were overcooked little bay scallops in too much batter. The garlic spare ribs had too little sauce. The service was good but we were the only people in the dining room.

We were very disappointed. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp and it was all batter with a small sliver of shrimp. They refused when I asked to exchange the shrimp for chicken instead. For some reason the fried rice and the chow mein we both had, had a "slimy" texture. Service was great, food was poor and the owners attitude disgraceful. Best avoided.

I just moved to Sydney and New Moom came highly recommended. I ordered 2 #9's and the best part was the egg roll. The ribs had no sauce and they were dry and fatty. I will stick to my choice "Hung Fa".

Eating in is awesome Delivery is not awesome. Delivery portions are far smaller than eating in. Wrong food has also been delivered on repeated occasions (Honey Garlic Ribs instead of BBQ Pork for example). Eat in if you can otherwise skip if you're looking for delivery.

It was a little pricey, I got the kimchi salad and I was a little disappointed that there was no actual kimchi just dressing that mildy resembles kimchi. The rolls were good, the fish was fresh, and they meal was overall light but very filling. The service was great, the owner of the restaurant greets you as you enter, checks in during your meal and sees you off at the door, you can tell he cares about his customers.

Nasty food! Took 1 bite of a chicken ball and spit it out.. looked like old dried up meat inside way to dark to be considered chicken unless it was freezer burnt for a year. Attempted egg roll, even the dog tried to bury it. Poked fork at the chicken chow mein but couldn't bring myself to even try it.

Worst food experiences. It happned 3 to 4 times, i asked them to make me fried rice with chicken I dont know how they prepeare food in 3 mins. I think everything they have is frozen or pre cooked and they just heat it up when customers ask

Went there today with my fiance and we were both very impressed. Was really good food . They were super busy and still managed to provide a nice looking platter for a solid price and the waiter was over promptly. I can see why they were busy. Haha will be back

The New Moon is not a restaurant, it is more of an institution. It has been a staple in sydney for as long as I can remember feeding hungry folks big portions for very reasonable prices. Some things should never be changed and New Moon's food is one of those things. Especially the Cherry sauce, deep red delicious cherry sauce.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a local who tells me this place is just as good as it was "back in the day". Who am i to argue with an expert. Ordered a la carte because I was feeding a crowd and am so disappointed with the portion sizes. Everything crammed into tiny takeout containers - be warned that you are better off ordering separate combination plates for the value. I called to express my dissatisfaction and was told “ok” the photo posted below is $80 worth of food.

The food was okay but the two of us were rushed out, they brought the cheque half way through the meal and the restaurant was basically empty, only 3 other couples. It was very rude and welcoming. It was 3:30 pm and not close to closing. On top of this it was super humid in there and the other patrons were asking for them to turn on the AC, they turned it on for maybe 10 mins. And then it was humid again and everyone sweated through their meal, thankfully I and my acquaintance were close to the door and had some relief. Gave 2 stars as at least my food was okay, they added extra sauce on the burnt chicken balls, that my friend half ate. Will probably try to not go there again, but it's Sydney, not many choices to choose from.

Our first experience at an authentic Chinese restaurant here in Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia Canada was simply Awsome as the food was delicious indeed just like how I had tasted in Singapore and the price was great and the combo deals they had was the best ever I had the one with Egg roll, Garlic spare ribs, Chicken chow mein & chicken fried rice all for just $12.00 is excellent value for money deal and two of us had full stomach for dinner. Would highly recommend to anyone as I have tasted in many Chinese restaurants all over the world and this was one of the 10 best restaurants I have ever had in my life so far. Well done guys, keep up the great job guys

Best Chinese place for good deals on combination plates. They have lunch specials and “regular “ combination plates, which at first was confusing. The lunch size combos are smaller. Do not recommend buying a la carte because portions sizes are too small compared to other places.
